Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well this Wednesday, it's that time again, Sonia with doctor Kim,
Welldness Wholeness Expert. Y'all know, doctor Kim, you don't may
know her mom back in the day too, Doctor Joe
and Long let's talk about love marriage in the family
right back in the day, because I worked with her mom,
and so I know she would be pleased to know
that you're on the radio, because she was on the
radio for years, uh talking about two years, many different shows,

(00:24):
got the word for the day.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yeah, she did it all woman, She had a lot
of shows.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Yeah, but you're following in her footsteps, doctor Kim. It's
a National Stress Awareness Month, and we want to stress less.
When you watch the news, when you on social media, like,
all of that can cause stress. I mean just you know,
with work and with family and.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Planning something fun can be stressed.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
It can't.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Yeah, you're right, things that we're looking forward to can
be stressed. So you want us to help us, you
want to help us to stress less.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
Doctor Kim.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Absolutely. So. One of the things that we can do
when we are.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Stressing, is when we are in fight and flight or
when we are in high stressful times, is not do
stressful things.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
To add to the load. What do I mean by that?

Speaker 2 (01:21):
If we're used to going to the gym at least
three to five times out of that week, that's the
week that we will not do hit. That's the week
that we will not go hard.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Some people say go hard or go home. That is
the week that we will do mindful exercises. We might
do stretching, we may do pilates, we may do walking.
But adding on more stress in the gym while we're

(01:56):
already stressed is not good. It will actually spike our
levels even more.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
So, choose softer, more kinder, you know.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
I like to be kind and our choices when it
comes to your workouts. Also, if you're already, if your body,
if your brain is already in that fight and flight,
that's not the time to take on extra loads or
extra activities. That's a great time to delegate. That's the

(02:28):
great time to say, hey, I need your support, I
need your help. Don't act like a superhero or like
you can do it all. Begin to call in your family,
your friends, or even teamwork. Makes it through dream work.
If you're at work, hey I need you to take
this load. I need you, need you to do that.

(02:49):
The other thing that you can do is massage. It
releases tension in the body. You will be surprised how
much we keep tension in the hip or in the neck,
or in the head or in the back. So that's
a great time to say, I'm going to get a
massage this day. But when you know that you're in

(03:12):
your highest stress times, you can stress less by the
kinder choices that you make each and every day.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I love this. Doctor Kim is with us National stress
Wareness Month.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
How does stress less? We get more of this? To
call with doctor Kim.

Speaker 1 (03:27):

always hit us up here in the studio eight five
five nine nine nine, thirteen ninety or you can just

Speaker 1 (03:56):
I'm Sonya here with Wellness and Wholeness Expert Doctor Kim.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
We need to stress less.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
You know, we stressed out about our job and our
family and money. But there's a lot of things that
get stressed out about. So how can we stress less?
Come on and put our stress to the test today,
Doctor Kim.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Absolutely, let's talk about a few ways that any of
us can stress less. One of those things is those
that we ourselves do not have the power over. Let
it go and let it flow. Let it go and
let it flow. So many times we want to hold
onto things because we want to control things, and so

(04:37):
when we release those controls, we will know each and
every one of us how much we can stress.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Not be well.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Oness Wednesday, we're gonna be well, live well, look well,
think well because the wellness expert is here, Doctor Kim.
Don't forget about our scripture, guys three John one two, beloved,
I pray that all may go well with you and
that you may be in good health just as your
soul is prospering. That's what we're talking about National Stress
Awareness Month, and we need to regulate our stress because

(05:14):
stress can cause high blood pressure, heart disease, strokes, what else,
doctor counts.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Yes, it can cause chronic diseases. You will be surprised
that seventy five to ninety percent of doctor's visit is
related to or connected to stress, and so we have
to stress less.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Some of the ways that we.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Can stress less is not only our sleep patterns, our
eat patterns, how we live our life, how.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
We view things.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
What lenses are we actually looking out when we're making
choices and decisions every single day, because we have so
many things that are vying for our attention. Look over here,
look at this, hear this, hear that, and it can
be quite overwhelming. You have to actually put a pause

(06:18):
and a stop on it when it comes to your
own individual health, even in your home if you have to,
and we talked about before, if you need to delegate.
Team work makes the dream work. But each and every
one of us we have to make sure we stress less.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
As we're talking, doctor Kim, the scripture just came to mind,
Philippians four, be agists.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
Don't be worrying.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Don't be stressing about nothing, but in everything, by prayer
and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known
to God.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
Does this tyane to stress at all?

Speaker 3 (06:54):
You think?

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Absolutely? Just like it says, we have to cast our care. Yeah,
because he cares for us. But we can't be anxious,
we can't be worried. And sometimes when we say that,
some people say, well, that's easier said than done, But
it's as easy as said and doing.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
We have to absolutely.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Incorporate those works that each and every one of us
have to do each and every day to make sure
we're not carrying the weights that we're carrying. Sometimes we
even take on things that we should not even take.
Just like someone says, blesses a man that walketh not
in the council of the ungodly, nor stand in the

(07:43):
way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful.
So where you stand, where you sit, what you hear,
all of that has to do with stress and stress
related diseases and stress related moments and stress things that
each and every one of us feel like that they

(08:04):
have to take the responsibility.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
I have to take this on. You don't have to
take everything on.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
You're right, doctor Kim.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
