Well, of course we're going to talk about the two
new albums we're excited about today. Lady Wilson's Whirlwind, her
fifth album with a special guest you'll find on there
at Miranda Lambert on one of those songs, so we're
pretty excited about that. And then Thomas Rhett his seventh
album About a Woman, also out today, and we're gonna
be doing an album release party with Thomas Rhett this
afternoon with some exclusive interviews, introducing some of the new

(00:31):
songs and playing for that, so make sure you're listening
for that on your ride home this afternoon.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
We're pretty excited about it that it's going to be good.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
And State Fair season means husband calling is back. Have
you ever seen a husband calling contest?

Speaker 1 (00:42):
What in the world?

Speaker 3 (00:43):
If you haven't, you're missing out. It's kind of like
col calling or hog calling, but.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
It's it's like it dates back to where before you
had a cell phone, right, so you had to.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Call your husband in from the field.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Are you kidding?

Speaker 3 (00:53):
I'm not kidding. M So all you had was your voice.
But a bunch of state fairs have them now.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
And I've got some footage from the Iowa State Fair
of what this sounds like in action.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Husband calling, contest.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Husband calling, let me get I couldn't do it. I

(01:30):
know he couldn't.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
My mom had a big old bell that she would ring.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
It was like a bell.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Yeah, it was a huge bell she put in her
hand and she would ring the bell to call us
in from the back past.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
So that is like a real cattle call there. That's
pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
And Jelly Roll toured for years before he got famous,
so hotels dot Com asked him to sit down and
talk about all of the different hotel experiences he's had
over the years, and he felt more than qualified, and
he shared two hacks that are pretty clever.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
But the first one was when he wasn't even a
guest the hotel in.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Our early torn days, we would be so broke that
we would sleep in our van outside of like a Hampton.
And then when they did the continental breakfast in the morning,
we would wake up and walk in there and we
would just like walk by the desk and lie. We'd
be like, all right, man, I see in the room
in a second. I'm gonna grab a muffin and then
we would all just rush into the Continental Breakfast and eat.

(02:22):
This is how we lived for like three years on too.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
By the way, that's probably a misdemeanor, So I don't
recommend doing that because if you get caught, that's probably
gonna lot not look good on your record.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Right now, the morning one two five w PAP ninety
two five wpap's time for the five. It's time for tesses.

Speaker 5 (02:47):
Five random facts on ninety two five WPAP brought to.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
You by Jerry Pybus and Jerry Pybus Electric trusted electricians.
They can get the job done right, no matter what
size the job. You can give them a call and
they can even offer finance so you can get the
job done now and then pay as you go.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Love it jus counting down, sister, I thought.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
We do something different today and make all five random
facts about our favorite trash pandas the raccoons.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
The trash pandas by random.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Facts about raccoons.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Raccoons, the original of the origin of the name raccoon
stems from their most prized possession, which is their hands. Yes,
the word raccoon comes from a racoon, which is a
poa Hotan term which means animal that scratches with hands.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
There you go, and you're clean too. I like raccoons.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
They're part of the prio on a PRIOCCIONI day family,
got it right, which includes both cowatis and ringtail lemurs.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Oh yeah, right, The ringtail lemurs is the same thing us.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
They're part of the same family.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
The raccoon.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
All right, n three, Did you know that we only
had raccoons in the US. They didn't exist in Europe.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Until we began shipping them to Germany back in the
nineteen thirties.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
I wonder why we were shipping them though, Well, they.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Were using them to populate fur farms.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Oh okay, they were taking them to fur farms to
harvest them for their pelts. So raccoons then began living
in the European wild after an accidental bombing allowed a
lot of them to escape.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
That's good. I've never heard of any of this about raccoon.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Raccoons.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Racons, you know, they've got their black eye masks, but
they're not meant to be scary. They basically serve the
same purpose as the eye black that you see on athletes.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
You see the dark.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Fur helps them absorb light and reduces glare, making it
easier for them to see.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
So it's a real thing. They're not just mask bandits.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
And we also know that raccoons will wash their food
or wash their hands before they eat, and that's basically
what they do. Their hand sensitivity, which is so important
to them. They use it as a tactile. Hands are
actually better at sensing things than their noses. But their
hand sensitivity increases when it's wet. So if it ever
looks like they're washing their hands, it's actually because they're
getting ready to eat or hold an object.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
I love it. I love they are extremely clean. I
mean they're going to take anything they can and take
it down to the creek or the river, whatever, wash
it before they eat it. I mean, I love raccoon.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Aren't they fun?

Speaker 1 (05:06):
This was a great five.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Now you know a lot about raccoons today.

Speaker 2 (05:43):

profile on a song would play.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
I didn't do that.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Mine was Hey There Delilah by the Plain White Teeth.
Remember that one.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Well, Instagram is launching a new feature that does just that.
It will allow users to add a song to their
profile that it is two thousand and two right now.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
I mean, goodness, gracious, that's insane.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
That is insane. I'm reading this. I told you earlier.
This is a bonus too. But Krispy Kreme adding that
new Doctor Pepper donut to their menu, and I want
you to try.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
I think I will try that one because I like
the idea of that butter cream donut. There you go,
and I don't know, I think it'll taste pretty good
with a slight pepper flavor. Even though I'm not the
biggest Doctor Pepper fan. Doctor Paper Paper, Doctor Pipe heading
to Philly this weekend. Philadelphia, you want to.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Fine with me. What are we going to do when
we get there?

Speaker 3 (06:30):
We can take place in the Philly Naked bike Ride.
Naked bike ride.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
That's what I do it every year. I've waited my
whole life a twelve.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Twelve mile course. Most people will complete it in two hours.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
And it's about body positivity and a lot of people
will write on their back about body positivity and social
issues and.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Things like that.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
But it takes place every single year. They said, make
sure to wear your sun block. I wouldn't want to
stity on a bike naked. No thanks, not again.

Speaker 1 (07:00):

headlines with doctor Shane and tests on ninety WPAP what what?

they're everywhere, even in the airport on the airlines.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Especially in the airports.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
These folks, what are they doing? It's absolutely insane.

Speaker 5 (07:27):
This guy another air travel nightmare, airline confrontation conn camera
that unruly airline passenger causing a real scare in the sky.
Engines running high on a plane.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Hey Oskin, the Eland so a Jetstar flight having to
be rescheduled and postponed simply because the old boy gets
up out of his seat, opens the emergency door and
walks out on the wing. Let me come on there,
dude slid down the engine before being apprehended by authorities. No,

(07:58):
it was not in the air, No it was not.
It was actually in the terminal, so it was not.
You can't walk out on the wing in there.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
But yeah, he and everyone else would have sucked out
of that plane like that's exactly.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
It wasn't during the flight, That's what I'm saying. It
was still on the ground, thank goodness. But he slid
down the engines and then they went out and apprehenateed him.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
And I know what is wrong with people to get.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Up and just just let himself out. It's just insane.
If that doesn't get you. The Kentucky State Fair recently
sold are you running an eighteen pound country Ham? For
ten point five million dollars?

Speaker 4 (08:36):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Yeah, this is They do this every year for the charities.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
It Joe and Kelly Kraft. They snapped up that pricing
meat proceeds benefiting charity. They do it every Year's test
sets by the way. The previous year's ham fetched ten millions.
So it's not about how good the ham is or
what kind of hamm. It's just about raising money for charity.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
But it better be a good ham. I mean it
better be a good ham.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Ten million dollars.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
That's a lot of for a little bit ham.

can't come fast enough.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Fuck well, it's here, how soon?

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Not soon enough? You need to take a break, break wonder,
make that money, pay those build bills built.

Speaker 6 (09:25):
It's a really good way to start the show.

Speaker 1 (09:29):

world's most beautiful beaches out in Panama City this weekend.
If I'm not mistaken. Inside Lindsay's Furniture, they're having that

so pretty. Chick fil As planning a streaming service. It'll
be the only streaming service that's closed on Sundays. In

(10:25):

(10:45):

news story of the day. Test is running to make
her smile. Here ooh ahead, drol It's Friday. Give us
something to really really grim about going into the weekend.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Here, let's go down to Beville, Texas.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
B Bill, Texas, Bville, Texas. Well, thirteen year old her
name is Shelby saved her twelve year old cousin, Geo,
after he accidentally severed an artery and tendon in his wrist.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
How did Geo do this?

Speaker 2 (11:17):
He was using a knife to remove staples from a
picture frame, which is not recommended, especially when you're young
without parental supervision. Well, according to Geo Rodriguez, this is
the kid that had his artery and tendon severed. It
left the house looking like a murder scene due to
the amount of blood, but Shelby saved him. She had
first aid skills that she learned from the Bee County

(11:39):
Sheriff's Department. They had to stop the bleed program that
was crucial in saving her cousin's life.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Oh wow.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Shelby used the training she received through the Junior Deputy
program and she remained calm, applied pressure with a towel
to stop the bleeding, and the sheriff expressed immense pride
in Shelby's actions, saying that her successful application of her
training proves the value of this Stop the Bleed program.
And Ryan Trevino, is the patrol sergeant who teaches to
Stop the Bleed course, called her response a textbook example

(12:07):
of what's taught in the class and her actions will
be part of future training sessions.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
That's brilliant. Cool is that very own Bay County Junior
Deputies do the same thing.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Yeah, the bleed program, it's so important, and you know
she did save her cousin's life. Likely, Shelby downplaced any
need for recognition, saying just doing what she knew how
to do it.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
The more you know, the more education you have, the
more lives you can say. You gotta do it.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
CPRS Stop the Bleed and you the heimlich Remneuver.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Getting your kids into a swimming program. You've been an
advocate for that as early as possible.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Swimming program.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
They teach babysitting courses that teach you all the things
about how to care for children in emergency situations. It's
all smart and great programs to have in our community.
