In Episode 15, Cheryl and Danielle raise a glass to how our middle-aged bodies handle alcohol. Spoiler alert – not well (Episode 1 started the conversation of When Happy Hour Turns Sad). Chiming in with plenty of knowledge is their guest, Katelin Cashman, PA-C, Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, certified functional nutrition informed professional, and founder of Plaistow, N.H.-based Journey Health. The three ladies talk about what’s physically different about our bodies at this age that might be affected by drinking, and Katelin offers tips on how to overcome those issues. She also teaches us about metabolism and how our bodies react differently to booze these days in terms of its exacerbating menopause symptoms, our gaining weight, and handling hangovers. Cheers to an episode that moves the needle on enjoying the occasional drink.
