Man, the most popular. Ifeel like it's number one on every playlist
anywhere that you pull up on astreaming app is Mariah Carey all I want
for Christmas. Yeah, I'm nota huge fan, but that's the go
to. That's the go to.That's a song. But what's the song
you remember? Is that our songyou remember as a kid. As a
kid, man, I remember Christmasmusic. I remember dancing in my grandmother's
(00:51):
kitchen, man to every old schoolChristmas. She cooking always, man,
and she just loved a dance.Man And just those are the greatest memories
that I have. Give me aChristmas memory when you were a kid,
Dude, the smell of turkey cookingright, the smell of all the fixings
being cooked up in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, ninety eight Lennox Street and all the
(01:17):
bing Crosby and the Frank Sinatra songsin the background, playing all the old
school Christmas songs, right, thatall those guys redid and that those are
the best memories I have. Man, that's awesome. Well, we'll get
more into that, but tell us, you know, to say you're part
of the Pavement Group is just aminute part of what you are and what
you do. You're a podcast,You're so tell us everything we need to

your business, good for your faith, everything in between. You know,
you're a huge fan of Pittsburgh andyou have this like creative ideas of how
to promote Pittsburgh. So's what's goingthrough your mind? Yeah, I love
it, man, I love thiscity. You know, my dad was
(03:10):
a steel worker, and so youknow, I have it in my blood,
the blue collar nature. That's howit ended up in construction. And
so I just believe that you know, every person that we bring to the
city always says the same thing.Man, I can't believe how amazing Pittsburgh
is. The restaurant seen, thecleanliness of the city, just the people
are incredible. And so my thoughtis is how do we get more people
(03:32):
to first and foremost stay here thatare young people that want to be here
and the advantage of everything we haveto offer, absolutely, man, And
so that's what we're trying to build. So we've got, you know,
media company that we're building, aconstruction company that's a little bit different than
a normal construction company, probably alot different, so a technology driven construction
(03:53):
company. And so we're trying tobuild those into entities where people have a
cool destination to land where they couldcome work for a company. Well,
the most important thing to attract peopleto Pittsburgh is jobs, right, So
I'm going to look to you, what are you looking for? Absolutely,
So we're looking for energetic people thatare looking to build a great life and
stay here in Pittsburgh, you know, to build a family here, to
(04:15):
build a future here, and tohave their dreams become reality. Right.
One of the things that we sayabout our company is we try to make
a dream factory. So if you'vegot a dream inside of you, we
can make it happen faster then youwould being able to do it on your
own. And so to join forceswith people that are like minded and like
hearted, have the same vision, have the same principles, the same values
as you do. There's no betterthing than coming to work with people that
(04:39):
you love coming to work with andas you always say, man, you
never have to work a day inyour life if that's the case, right,
right, So if somebody is interestedin maybe finding out what you have
to offer, where do they needto go? So they could go to
the Pavement group dot com. That'san easy place to apply for a job
with us. Through the Pavement Group. They can also connect with me on
social media, so real Brian hessE l Brian hess on all platforms,
(05:02):

you'll find me and so connect withme there, send me a DM.
I'll connect you with the right peopleon our team to be able to
get things started. And your podcastsare available on YouTube and what other platforms,
every other podcast platform, So everywherethat you would listen to a podcast,
it's being published there and it's theBrian Hess Show. I know you
(05:25):
give back to the community, butyou have a special partnership with Steelers and
the Penguins, So tell us moreabout that. Yes, we created partnerships
with both the Steelers and the Penguinsthis year, and the mission behind both
of those is to be able topositively impact the city of Pittsburgh, the
city that we love. And sowith the Steelers, we give back to
the Best of the Batch. Shoutout to our guy, Charlie Batch.
(05:46):
Charlie is awesome. He's an awesome, incredible man, incredible. We just
went to his in the Pocket eventa few weeks ago here and raised a
bunch of money for those kids. And so we give five hundred dollars for
every field goal, one hundred dollarsfor every extra point to the Best of
the Batch throughout the season here. We've been kicking a lot of field goals
this year, so good for theBest of the Batch. We're making a
big donation there. And then throughthe Pittsburgh Penguins, we are the official
(06:10):
leadership partner of the Pittsburgh Penguins, and so we're teaching leadership skills to youth
hockey players and other youth athletes acrosswestern Pennsylvania through a leadership academy that'll be
releasing here in January or early February. All right, so Christmas is just
around a corner. I can't believeit's going to be here before you know
it. What are some of thethings your kids are hoping that for that
(06:31):
Santa is going to bring them underthe tree? Oh man? So I
got my kids range from eleven tofour, and then by the time Christmas
gets here, we'll have a newborn. And I'll tell you this, man,
the gifts get more expensive these days. Right. They want iPads and
computers and headphones and air pods andall kinds of stuff like that. So
they got a whole list. Andthen video games of course. All right,
(06:53):
tell me take me back to alittle Brian Hess. What was that
one gift you received as a kidthat really just made that the Christmas so
special? From the time I wasa kid, man, I was always
a sneaker guy, so I alwaysthere was always some new pair of sneakers
that was coming out. It waseither sneakers or a video game that I
wanted for Christmas every single year. And did Santa deliver always man. My
(07:16):
parents, my dad worked all theovertime at US Steel. He needed to
to be able to give us everythingthat we wanted. So that's what it's
all about. All right, Weonly have about a minute left, so
tell us everything you wanted want peopleto know about Brian has Man. You
know, we're just as a companytrying to make a difference, trying to
be a positive light in the worldand bring as many people together inside of
(07:38):
our company that can help everybody else'sdreams come true. And you know,
we work across the United States andCanada, so we did work in forty
four states last year from an asphaltand concrete perspective, and we're looking to
go to all fifty at some point, right and I think we'll do that
very soon. But we need peopleto be able to do to do that,
and we want to get all ofthose people from right here in Pittsburgh,
(08:01):
Pennsylvania, where our headquarters is inWexford. And so if you're out
there looking for an opportunity, lookingto take your life to the next level,
