(00:00):
And welcome in. This is theHeart of Pittsburgh podcast. I'm your host,
Johnny Heartwell, special guests and studywell. We got a room for
all women. This is the greatestjob take Keller Heer Be Balanced. Good
to see you, a get Hi, I'm great, thank you. Okay,
introduce the guests here. I'm heretoday with Tommy ann Lutz, who
is our center manager and coach andbe Balanced Wexford. And who is this

(00:21):
lady that is our favorite client,Bonnie Diver? Bonnie Diver? All right,
So, Be Balanced is a localcompany dedicated to helping individuals achieve their
weight loss and overall wellness goals. But other than that, what else should
we know about be Balanced? Well? Be Balanced is not just another weight

(00:41):
loss program. We focus on aholistic approach that includes addressing hormonal imbalances such
as insulin cortisol to major hormones thatimpact our overwhel well being. Our programs
are designed to not only help withweight loss, but also address mood,
energy, sleep, and gut health. Okay, I've got a question for
you, your favorite client, BonnieDiver. You've actually gone through the program,

(01:04):
so what kind of results have youseen? Well? It was it
was better than I and I reallythought. I went because I heard that
it was a hormone based program, and I thought, well, that's kind
of the key to everything, right, and because you need to get those
things in balance, and you knowI'm out of balance. You know I
need to get myself balance balance.Yeah, well true, I know.

(01:26):
I mean it's like the things youthink, your stress levels, you're sleeping,
all those things are affected what youeat. They all go into your
body and all that stuff needs tobe addressed. It's not just about what
you eat, but it's everything andthat's what they address. And that's why
Tommy and became my best friend.I lost a bunch of weight, I'm
sleeping better, I have my energylevel back, So it's a total overall.

(01:47):
I mean, I lost like twentyfive pounds. For you, it's
amazing. She does look great.Tommy and I have a question for you,
what's the importance of gut health.Well, the biggest part of gut
health is about seventy percent of yourimmune system lies within your gut tracked,
and over time, things start towear down the gut track, causing stress
internally. Not only you have thatexternal stress, but the internal as well,

(02:08):
so we need to address that inorder to have overall picture of health.
So when it comes to stress,I mean we are all feeling stress,
especially nowadays. So what do youdo, Kate, Tommy and what's
the answer? Tell us what peopleneed to do then? And what does
be Balance do to compensate for thatstress? So we're all aware of external

(02:29):
stressors, whether they're mental or emotionalstress. We're whare are those? What
we really focus on is not onlythat, but the physical stressors. There's
food sensitivities that will cause stress internally. Over exercising is a big one,
not getting enough sleep, maybe somepain. Any of those things can also
raise cortisol, which is related tostress. Okay, you now, if

(02:50):
somebody wants more information, what's yourwebsite? Our website is Bebalancecenters dot com.
So how does be Balanced tailor? It's approached to individuals so we understand
that everyone is unique. So beBalanced takes an approach of starting with our
clients' goals and experience and then wetailor our programs to match their needs and
food sensitivity. Well, I knowyour clientele are very special and they have

(03:13):
special needs. Trust me, I'veworked with Bonnie for a long time.
But you've had you've lost how much? How many well, like over twenty
five pounds. You know, I'veyou know, I had cancer twenty years
ago, and so being healthy isreally important to me. And I was
just really having some problems as Iwas getting a little bit older. Stop
it. But but yeah, andso it's like I just couldn't get to
where I need to be, andyou know, and stress mounts and all

(03:36):
that kind of stuff. It waskind of a rough year. So when
I went over and talked to theseguys, they put together program. They
saw like what's going on stress andso it's not just a needing program.
It's not just a diet program. But it happened to be that I lost
weight because we addressed all these otherthings and you know, and balanced it
out. I found out actually itwas interesting. I found out about the
different foods. As we introduced newfoods into my program. I found out

(03:58):
that you know, like pass bread, you know, things like that cheese
is some of the dairy stuff notso good for me, and it triggers
me. And so I know howto eat now. And so even though
I did that last year, it'sstill a program that I do every day
and it's just part of who Iam. And Tommy Ann is like my
best friend. I can call hera text her and say I'm having problems

(04:19):
sleeping I think, and She's like, here's an app that will help you
with stress at night to listen tobefore you go to bed. I mean,
does everything well? Speaking of TommyAnne, you're a coach and a
manager. When somebody comes in,what's the process. What are some of
the things that you ask maybe anew client? So typically when somebody comes
in, we'll do a client profileand we go through different symptoms everything from

(04:43):
gut health to hormonal imbalance, andwe sit down and we have a very
in depth conversation on what their particularsymptoms are, and then we talk about
what their goals are, what's theirimportant things that are to them, why
they're here, and then we builda custom place to address all of those
particular things. All right, letme ask you, Kate, when somebody's

(05:05):
interested in be balanced, what doyou recommend you go to the website?
Do you go to one of thecenters? What's the process. The first
step is to schedule a free consultation. It's an opportunity for us to meet
with you, understand what you're experiencing, and then address how we can help
and make sure you know what weoffer is a good fit for you.
We can do those meetings in personor virtually, whichever works best for our

(05:28):
clients, and they can just schedulethat online at Bbalancecenters dot com. And
we were kind of talking off theair about you kind of a one one
stop shop. What does that mean? So if somebody is interested in losing
weight, you can help out,But that's not all that's right, We're
more than weight loss. When peoplecome to us, they may come to
us for the weight loss that maybewhere they first starts, but we can

(05:50):
also solve for mood, energy, sleep sleeps a big one. We have
a lot of people that aren't sleepingthrough the night or up and down all
night, and we really can helpwith not only weight, but the sleep
and then also the gut health thatis such a big important thing these days.
There's a lot of discussion about howthat impacts just overall well being,
disease, you know, overall wellness, and we really can do everything within

(06:14):
there. All right, Bonnie losttwenty five pounds on the program, But
when you get up as early aswe do sleep. Sleep is a big
deal. Ye, So does thataffect that obviously? I know how much
a lack of sleep affects my moodand my weight and everything else. What
was your experience, Bonnie, Yeah, so, you know, I went

(06:34):
in to talk to them about someof the you know, mood swings I
was having, and the stress levelsand just not feeling well. I just
felt like I felt like I waskind of a blueberry that was just like
plumping up. It was weird, like this inflammation thing was just growing in
me. They're shaking their heads, you're not, but they get it,
you know. And so I justneeded to figure out what is going on,

(06:57):
and stress is a huge part ofthat. So we talked about that,
getting the hormones figured out, andthen yeah, once you start figuring
out what the right foods are toeat, what the right vitamins and supplements
and things like that, it's allnatural. You know, they're not gonna,
you know, shoot me up withsomething. I know that's kind of
weird, but it's all natural, which is I love that program. So
that then once I finish the program, I can continue that every day.

(07:19):
And it's been over a year andI'm keeping the weight off and I'm sleeping
better. So you know, theybecome my buddies. And it's just so
important not just for women but alsomen to get your stres stress level figured
out. And I think that ishuge, and they Tommy and I still
talk about stressing, but maintaining isreally about getting to the root cause,

(07:42):
which is what we do. Weare able to get to the root cause.
A lot of approaches out there reallyaddress symptoms and they put band aids
over the symptoms. We're really gettingafter root cause, which not only helps
in the short term, but alsogives you the longevity and the maintenance of
results as well. So you helpout with gut health, mood, sleep,
and as a consequence, you ultimatelykind of lose weight, you get

(08:05):
into a healthier situation. All right, Well, once again, you know
what they call me, You knowwhat they call me, no, the
energizer Bonnie, because I have myenergy level back, and that's this,
that's what this is. All right. Well, once again, if somebody
wants more information, what do yourecommend? Please visit Bbalance Centers dot com
online and once somebody does that, you get a free consultation you'll find out
what's going on with their with theirlife, and then you can help them

(08:28):
absolutely once again. The website BbalanceCenters dot com. That's with an Sbbalance
Centers dot com. Tommy and BonnieKate, thank you for stopping. Then,
thank you. This has been theheart of Pittsburgh Podcast. I've been
