(00:04):
What say hello to Julia Brogley.Thank you for joining me, thank you
for having me. So tell meeverything we need to know about brokely Box.
Okay, Well May is mental healthAwareness Month if you didn't know.
And Brokeley Box essentially is a companywhere you can curate mental wellness boxes to
send to yourself or your loved one. How did this start? So?
I unfortunately lost my brother Justin tosuicide in twenty fourteen, and that experience
(00:29):
really just made me realize that somany people out there are struggling and don't
know what to do to help themselves, and loved ones don't know what to
do to send support. And soI thought, we need a different way
to approach mental health, and let'sput together a package where it has evidence
based products that are recommended from therapistsand mental health professionals, but it's bundled
(00:49):
and packaged in a way that feelsvery warm and approachable and fun. Now
people can get more information at brokelyboxdot com. But what is what is
inside the Brokelely Box? So it'sreally fun items. All the products and
resources stem from our six pillars ofmental Wellness, which are mindfulness, gratitude,
relaxation, sleep, nutrition, andmovement. So we have things like
(01:10):
gratitude journals, mindfulness cards, fidgettools, fitness items, just things to
promote mental well being and resources toprofessional help if that's what's needed. Now,
the people who have ordered the BrokelyBox, what kind of feedback do
you get? Oh, we getamazing feedback. You know. We also
include a handwritten note, so ifsomeone's sending it as a gift, they
can write a note to their lovedone. And oftentimes it's a first step
(01:34):
in someone's mental wellness journey. SoI had someone write in and say that
they weren't able to talk about mentalhealth with their daughter, but then when
she was given a Brokely Box,it warmed her up to the idea that
taking care of yourself and it's okayto ask for help. So it's been
it's been a great journey so far. Now you've taken mindfulness to the office,
(01:57):
Yes, absolutely, So. Alot of companies and organizations will order
Brokelei boxes for their employees. Andso I was having these conversations with HR
and other people managers and just askingwhat other resources are you offering to your
employees and what I found is thatthose resources were being underutilized. So I
dug in further and I found outthat seventy percent of employees say that their
(02:20):
manager has the number one impact ontheir mental health. And then when I
asked, oh, well, whatresources are being offered to the managers,
I was disappointed at what was beingoffered considering the biggest the impact that those
managers were having on employee mental health. And so I built a tool,
and the company is called Mindle. The website is thinkmindly dot io, and
essentially it's software to equip people managersto tackle their challenges in real time and
(02:45):
build action plans and the shortest amountof time possible. Because we know that
there's a positive correlation between well beingand performance, so the manager can meet
all the KPIs and performance goals atthe company while also preserving the mental health
of themselves and their employees in theprocess. Yes, what's your mission?
My mission for overall, broadly isjust to help as many people with their
mental health as possible and bring uniquesolutions to market in order to do that.
(03:08):
I would love I would love theseboth of my companies to be household
names. I think we all areimpacted by our mental health. I mean,
eighty percent of the population exhibit somesort of mental health symptom, although
only you know twenty percent one infive will have a mental health challenge like
myself or my brother, And it'svery common, and I think it's something
(03:30):
that is becoming more openly spoken about. But the reality is that, you
know, we need to take careof ourselves and we need to prioritize our
mental health. So my goal withthese companies is to grow it as big
as possible. You know, sometimeswhen you lose a loved one like you
did, you have a reluctant totalk about it, and it really you're
opening up the conversation. Yes,So when my brother died, what I
(03:53):
found I started speaking telling his story. He wasn't here to tell it anymore,
and I started sharing my story,my own challenge with my mental health.
And what I found is that allthese people for my community felt the
same way. Either they were strugglingto or they knew someone that was.
I mean, every forty seconds someonein the world dies by suicide, So
this is not something that is uncommonunfortunately, and it's going to take this
(04:16):
mass group effort all of us cando suicide prevention. You don't have to
be a mental health professional to recognizethe signs to provide a resource anyone out
there that isn't aware. Nine toeighty eight is a number that you can
call or text twenty four to sevenand be immediately connected to a crisis counselor.
It's these types of conversations and sharingof resources that's really going to make
(04:40):
a difference. So tell us everythingwe need to know about the brokely Box
that we haven't already said. Ithink, I mean, as much as
I want you to go on andbuy a brokelely box, I think you
can also curate your own. Youknow, what are things that make you
feel like yourself, make you feeljoyful, what are things that get you
through tough times? Make your ownbox. I mean it can be physical
(05:01):
products, it can be reminders,it can be affirmations, it can be
a text to a loved one.And every single person should be doing at
least one thing every single day fortheir mental health. And so that's just
the message that I want to leaveyou with. Find more information at broukelelybox
