Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh my goodness, another trip to the final four. How
are you feeling and what do you have to say
about it?
Speaker 2 (00:04):
I'm super excited. That was a great game. Everyone played
super hard. Yeah, that was amazing.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
It's about what you really the defense that you played
down in the post. It was physical and it really
seemed to be each of you had a knack and
a hand in getting it done.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Oh yeah, I mean we definitely emphasized, you know, stopping
their bigs. They're dominanting their physical but we knew as
long as we you know, kind of took them out
of the game, played hard and made it really physical
in there, then that was gonna help us for sure.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Was there any certain defensive scheme at all, like fronting
or any doubling down there.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Yeah, a little bit helping off if you you know,
they had one at high post, want the low post.
But yeah, just pushing them off the block, you know,
making sure they didn't get in the arc and get deep,
you know, because once once they get it's very easy.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
So making sure that you know they weren't.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Inside and had those easy you know, shoulder turns.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
To finishing.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
It seemed great finish to the the second quarter and
then it got a little ugly in the third And what.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
Do you think though that was?
Speaker 1 (01:00):
And how did you get get everything back on track?
Speaker 3 (01:03):
You know?
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Yeah, we know it's a game of runs, you know,
so they had their runs and you know we we
were used to you know, and things not going our
way and just staying together as a team, keeping it
on track. You know, our leaders do a good job of,
you know, making sure everyone relaxes.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
You know, sometimes with big games.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
And moments like that, we can get kind of sped
up and lose our minds. But I think we, you know,
did a good job of you know, getting back you know,
focused and you know, taking taking it to the end.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Yeah, all right, palm trees, Now are you looking forward
to that?
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Yeah, that would be nice to be somewhere where it's sunny.
But yeah, we're excited to keep playing.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
And you know, job's not done yet.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Congratulations, Thanks and Tampa.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
All right, I'm gonna head over to miss Aubrey, like
may interrupt her meal here with the replenishing part of that.
You get it. You haven't played the last couple of
games at all, and you come in in a very
tense part of the game and do your role? Was
going through your mind? And how did it feel out
there to be in that moment?
Speaker 4 (02:03):
Yeah, I mean it felt obviously great. My mindset is
just whenever he calls me, just be ready. And that's
my mindset going forward. Just be mentally ready for his
looky ready man. Whenever he calls on me, just step
up and do what I need to do.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
And it seemed like rebounding coming up with a key
rebound here and there. Again, you just have a knact
for that.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Is that it?
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Yeah? I mean, that's that's what I just focus on
offensive rebounding and sorry, just being a good screener for mine,
for my teammates and just getting them open and we're
all just being aggressive.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
I thought that great drive to the hoop. There's a
lot of contact there.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
What do you think I think definitely got here.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Yeah, but you know I just kept playing. Yeah, that's
way to go.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Well, congratulations, you're going back to the final four. How
many is this for you?
Speaker 4 (02:55):
I lost count?
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Does it lose its favorite?
Speaker 4 (02:59):
All same feeling every single time. It's honestly a blessing,
and I feel like it's a special thing because not
many people get to experience this, but congratulations.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
They enjoyed the trip to Tampa. Miss Ashland, may I
hate you too, all right, So with Ashland here, tell
us your thoughts on the game and how it started
out and what your team did and how you know,
for the most part was on the up, but a
little valley in there too.
Speaker 5 (03:29):
Yeah, I thought we had control of the game for
the most part. I think they went on a little
run in that third.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
They had a good.
Speaker 5 (03:33):
Third quarter, but we stayed composed, we stayed grounded and
what we wanted to do and what we wanted to execute,
and that's what led us to the victory.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Tell us about that great deflection you had on the
defense there that ended up being a turnover them and
ball go on your way.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
Yeah. No, I just saw an opportunity to stick my
hand in there, and then right when I did hit it,
I knew that her hand touches. I was like, guys,
I swear it's awful, but no, it was really it
was really cool to contribute that at the end, get
it back in our possession, because it's Keith times like
that when we really want the ball back. All right,
it's your your feel.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
If you're going to the final four again, and it's
been a different road this year in the sense of
ups and downs. But your team's coming together. Tell us
about that. How you see your team and where you.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Are at this point in the season.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
I just think we have so many different great pieces
to our team that any like, on any given night, anyone,
anyone can step up make plays. Obviously we have our
core players like Page, They're easy to really help us out.
But I mean as a together, as a whole, we're
so connected and we're playing great basketball together right now
offensively and defensively.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Yeah, I couldn't say better than that. But on temperature
a little different than here in Spokane and now going
to Tampa.
Speaker 5 (04:47):
Oh, I could use some sun I love it. Maybe
get a tan, I don't know. Little vitamin D, right,
little vitamin D.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Never heard anyone tell.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Us a body I can rest help? And maybe you
did discuss this yet the game plan here because you
getting a long travel and replenishing, getting some of those
carbs in your whenever it's a protein, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
Some corn, no, but no, we really have to focus
on that. This next week is getting recovered, getting rested,
and making sure we're locked in for the final final push.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
All right, well, congratulations, thank you Joy just kk can
I get you?
Speaker 6 (05:22):
Oh oh, I didn't see that. You know what?
Speaker 1 (05:24):
How about this? You take it on and all over.
Speaker 5 (05:27):
All?
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Right, a woman in demand, dear kay kay, all right
and another trip to the final four. How's it feel?
Speaker 6 (05:33):
It feels really good, So very grateful for this team.
A lot of emotions. I don't want to get too emotional,
but we had a good run. Sorry for clapping, that's
just I'm excited. We love it. We upon it.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Tell us about your piece of there when you came
into the game again, it was just seemed to really
shut down when they were starting to get the guards,
getting a little feel just a different temple once again
that you seem to be doing all season.
Speaker 6 (05:53):
Yeah, just disrupting h not letting him get to there,
you know, easy spots on the floor. I was sure
trying to get to and just disrupting and cause then
communicating and just coming in with that energy.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
Your roll.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
So the one on the floor, we know what you
do when you're on that bench there. What is your
role too with your teammates and how you're getting everybody focus.
Speaker 6 (06:09):
Cham being loud, seeing the little things that they don't see,
and telling them what to do. Just yeah, just do
the little stuff honestly, and they had it going. Just
keep communicating them and keep you know, keep them out
and keep them engaged.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
What does it look like now? And maybe you didn't
discussing it as a team, but like how from here
knowing like okay, we're going to the fine four what
does it look like? And travel resting and knowing that, yeah,
you know, getting the next game plan ready.
Speaker 6 (06:31):
Just rest of our bodies tonight, putting our legs up,
celebrating a little bit, but also just getting ready for
our travel tomorrow morning as well, and just you know,
maybe sleeping. I know I'm a sleeper on the plane,
so maybe sleeping. Just resting, so again, as much rest
as we can.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
And yeah, did did you pack the shorts?
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Do you have?
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Like the warm weather here? It's like ninety degrees in Tampa.
Speaker 6 (06:50):
Oh yeah, I bought a couple of shorts. I'm probably underpacked,
so I'm probably gonna have to.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Buy a couple shorts.
Speaker 6 (06:54):
But hey, I'm not mad.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
I'm not mad about buying some couple of shorts.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
So congratulations, thank you,
