It's been a I could say, a long season, but
as you see.

All that hard work that you've all done come to life,
and your thoughts on what happened out there tonight.

Yeah, like you said, a lot of hard work. It
means a lot to be here, but like you know,
we all know it's not an end goal, so it's
just another step towards where we're we're trying to go,
which is great. And yeah, like pages is something special tonight,
we did something special as a team and just soaking
that all in and enjoying it.

Teammates made a lot to say about how well you
and your teammates did it. Then there your thoughts and
going in and not just against fears, but a very
fierce rebounding team.

Yeah, I would say our coaches did a great job scouting,
you know and making sure that you know that was
emphasize emphasis for sure.

Would say that we knew our job and we knew
we knew we were gonna play a big role in
tonight's game. And then our guards, you know it wasn't
just you know, stopping them. They did a great job
getting hands on the ball, tipping it, forcing those turnovers,
you know, So it's definitely a team effort.

And yeah, it was fun.

Difference between first half and second half offensively because it
looked like shots were there, just nothing dropping.

Yeah, we knew, like like you said, those were good

a little minute, you know, maybe first game, you know, jitters, whatever,
But we knew that as long as we kept taking them,

we were forcing anything that they were eventually gonna fall.
We have such great shooters, easy page ash like consistent shooters,
so we knew that it wasn't nothing to worry about.
As long as we stay aggressive, it was gonna be

I mean, yeah, our bigs were incredible tonight and they
knew it was going to be a challenge for them.
It was a big, big day for them, and they
stepped up to the challenge. And I'm super, super proud
of Sarah Jenna Ice, I mean all of them. They
made it hard for all of the bigs and that
was that was the point of emphasis.

Was they get no easy looks.

If they're gonna get a lay up, like, make it hard,
battle them, like they're gonna be physical.

I just say difference of the defense first half versus
second half that start that you all came out gang bucksters.

Thoughts on that, Uh yeah, I mean that was kind
of the point of emphasis at halftime was our defense
wasn't bad, but there were adjustments that we needed to make,
and I thought that we all focused in, we all executed,
and we all our rotations were better, our ball pressure
was better, we were in the gaps, we were helping
each other more inside, and I thought that was the
difference maker.

Seemed very physical too, and I know coach was expecting
that physicality certainly there.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
It seemed the officials did let you play a little bit.
You think that helped there.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
At times you're thinking, oh, my gosh, I hope they
make a foul call.

No, I think it helped.

I mean, I feel like a lot of times in
the tournament there's a lot of tickey tag fowls, and
sometimes it feels like you almost can't play like.

You know, it's basketball.

There's gonna be some physicality out there, and so I.

Thought being able to play a little bit.

There were definitely fouls that are missed, some tickey tag
fowls that were like really, but that's how basketball is.
So I thought, you know, you can't react to the
what the Rep's call, and you got to do your
best to not give them any reason to make those
kind of calls.

Guards and bigs, just both sides, we did a great
job of making everything difficult for them.

Also seemed, you know, much to be said that they

Game went your way that it seemed Oklahoma really get
fatigued and you wore them down as the game win,
especially in that third fourth quarter. Did you feel notice
that difference is when you're all of a sudden the
offense seve went even smoother.

Yeah, I definitely did notice that.

I mean, it felt like they were getting a lot
of transition points or just easier looks in the first
half and second half, when we kind of just made
it an emphasis to you know, be more in the
more in the passing lanes, pressure a little bit more,
make it a little bit more difficult for them, they
started to get more tired. And that was for the
bigs the whole time, to wear their bigs out.

We're like, you guys, got.

Them, wear them out, make everything difficult for them, and
they're bigs. You could tell that they were tired, and
so I thought it was we did a great job.

And you know this, the arena was going wild for Ukon.
Did you feel that crazy of the fans happy for
you all?

I did. And it's incredible that, you know, we can
be Honestly, I don't know if there's a place further
from Connecticut and we still have such an incredible fan
base out here.

And it just shows.

One just the growth of women's basketball, but what coach
and CD and the entire coach coaching staff and just
what they've done, how they've built this program to be
able to have fans and supporters all.

The way across the country.

And I feel like just throughout this entire season, we've
had fans everywhere we've been, and most games, I mean,
with the exception of some have felt like home games.
And it's incredible just to feel that love and support
away from home. And I hope the fans know just
how grateful we are to take for them taking their
time to be here for us and support us, share
us on and so I don't know, it's just so
much gratitude for everyone that showed up today.
