Speaker 1 (00:00):
We played great team ball out there, and we communicated
on defense and you know, did the little things out
there which resulted, of course, and they'll win. And you know,
of course we're gonna celebrate this a little bit, but
focus on the next one and figure out the game
point for that one.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
All right, Brady, talk about playing bets down there and
how you were able to body her up and make
some things difficult for her.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Yeah, I mean we definitely focused that, you know, in practice,
me and Jana and Sarah working really hard, you know,
because she's obviously dominant, she's strong, and so yeah, the
coaches did a great job for that being our game plan,
and we did our best sexecute and yeah, I'm super proud.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Did you expect that you were gonna get a thirty
point victory going into this game?

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Honestly no. But I feel like as the game goes on,
we all just don't look at the scoreboard anymore. We're
just trying to keep picking up the little things that
we might be doing wrong in the game and just
trying to pick it up from there, just go from there.
I feed off each other's energy, and I feel like
once you look at the score ward like dang I
we killed it, and you.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Know, talking about offense, we've talked to the defense phenomenal,
and then it's just seemed to be very in sync
in everyone scoring. It wasn't one dimensional. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
I think that's just the confidence we built throughout season,
you know, and the practices, and we've been in scenarios
where we take out Page, we take out Easy, we
take out Sarah, and we figure out who can score.
So we know that we can't just rely on one person.
So that's what it looked like tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Since amazing we were talking about just beautiful basketball and
the passing that happens, whether it's the fast breaks or
how you're doing inside the game. You can give us
some thoughts on that.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
I just yeah, I feel like we're not selfish at all.
We know when to force the shot, who needs to
shoot it, and when we need to make the extra pass.
Sometimes we pass maybe too much, but yeah, I would
say just not being selfish and give up a good
shot for a great shot.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
In your role. Heyk Is, we always say about coming
in and changing that tempo and making it a little
more intense, seeming that you pick that up again.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Yeah, just like I said, that's been a book before
the home entire season, and of course coming into these
games it might be a last one. So going in
there my energy, I'm just taking one possession of a time,
but also just giving my team what they need, and
that's just a little bit more energy to keep us
going for the game.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
All right, it was a nine thirty tip. That's freaking late.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
I know your college kids and everything, but all day long,
how what were your feelings and thoughts and how did
you stay focused?

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yeah, I mean we had a great shoot around. We're
definitely focused, and then just kind of staying with each other,
you know, just kind of treating it like it is
another game even though it's not.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
But yeah, when.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
We just focus on the fact that it's just basketball
and giving it all we got. And the first thing
that they said was just have fun, you know, So
that was what we kind of made sure that we did.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
All right, the turnaround time one day in between and
then it's afternoon, it's it. What is I guess, how
much to get to enjoy when it's you know, approaching
midnight and then getting back to work.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
I feel like we all know what to do. We
need to recover kind of just chew down when we
get back to the hotel, of course, and go from there.
And tomorrow we'll handle business in terms of what we
need to do for the game plan for next game,
and we'll just go from there and just you know,
listen to our bodies and our coaches do a great
job of you know what, the Lord, our body needs them.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Congratulations, ladies to watch.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
Thank you always harped on our defensive intensity and pressure
and always just like putting pressure on them, making them
turn the ball over it. Uh, And I feel like
nothing's changed from then and we just sort of kept
that up now.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Yeah, you have been a major asset to Yukon sense.
You have joined the team this year. What's it fun
like joining the team as a senior in art like
you're playing in college.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
It's definitely different. It's tough to sort of figure out
how you've been in within a system in one year.
But my coaches and my teammates have done such a
great job of helping me sort of integrate and like
feel the most comfortable and confident within how we play.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Yeah, and last question, do you believe that you are
the biggest Yeah, you're on the team like your teammates
have seen.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
No, that's bs.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
How do you think it is?

Speaker 5 (03:56):
Oh, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
I appreciate you may.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Good job, Thank you for Caitlin.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
You're heading to the championship game. You're playing on the
last day of the season.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Possible.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
When you started here, you know, the journey to you
kind did you actually and did you picture the moment?
I mean seems so far away when you started this
way back in September.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
Oh yeah, I mean it's always been the goal, but
to actually be here is different. Yeah, it's definitely a
fun experience and a very exciting.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Feeling to play in the arena and know that, you know,
just a different feeling overall, and how your preparation for
this along with your teammates, and to be able to
go out there and put on the performance you did
this evening.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
It means a lot. I feel like we've put in
a lot of work this season. Uh, practices have been
long and grueling, and it's really nice to sort of
feel like it's paid off a little one more then
it will really really feel good. But it's just a
testament to all the hard work we put in this
past year.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
And I'd say, I felt like when we were watching
the game, it was a beautiful game of basketball. So
whoever wasn't a Yukon fan other than the ponent you're playing.
I feel like you've you really grew the game of
basketball and just made fans to say we want to
play like Yukon. Are you all aware of have that
style of play? We're talking about the touch pass that
you made, you know, on the transition, just good stuff

(05:23):
like that.

Speaker 5 (05:24):
Yeah, I mean, I think that's what's so fun about
playing with this team. We have so many different players
that can hurt you at different times, and everyone is
so unselfish to move the ball, moves so well, and
it's so fun to be a part of because you
know the right person is going to get the ball.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Then congratulations on the victory.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
Thank you. Calu in a guard
