It is time for the birthday prank call. James runs
a landscaping company and he contacted me about pranking one
of his employees. So I'm calling Molly. She does the
marketing and sales at the company, and I'm calling to

inquire about some lawn maintenance. Hey, let's get this phone
party started.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Hello, come on service.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Yeah, who's speaking?

Speaker 3 (00:39):
This is Molly. How can I help you? Hi?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Molly, I'm calling about some lawn service?

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Okay, okay, let me get some information down. Can I
have your first and last name?

Speaker 1 (00:50):
My name is Emerson Peters, but my friends and family
call me Boner, so just call me. Just call me Boner.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Okay. Why don't we just go by emmer and for now? Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Or our Boner?

Speaker 3 (01:02):
What? Emerson? What can I help you with? What are
you looking for? We offer a wide range of services.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Like like what do y'all do?

Speaker 3 (01:10):
We can maintain your lawns, you know, mowing, edging and maulching,
shrub and tree pruning, fertilizing, we control and whacking, gutter cleaning,
pressure cleaning, landscape design. Okay, what are you looking for?

Speaker 1 (01:29):
That sounds like a lot more than I need. How
much for just the weekly mowing?

Speaker 3 (01:34):
That's about one hundred dollars?

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Wow, that's a lot of money.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Because see I'm trying to save up right now, trying
to save my money, uh to buy a flamethrower and
a spider monkey, and so money's a little tight. So
I just don't have a lot of money to spend.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Well, But you would like to maintain your property.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
And you want In all honesty, I'm kind of being
forced to maintain my property. It's a little out of
control right now.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Uh. Let me ask you a question. Now, do y'all move?

Speaker 3 (01:58):
We can help you with that. We can help you
with that, will work with you.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Okay, when you do the mowing, Uh, do y'all move
everything out of the yard and then put it back?

Speaker 3 (02:07):
No? No, no, Typically you would make sure that property
is prepared for us to do the services. Whatever is
on your property, you would be responsible for moving, okay,
be responsible for that.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Okay, So I need to take the tires and and
move my boat off the yard.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Okay, yeah, you would definitely need to do that.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Now, you said something about weed control. That doesn't mean
y'all going to spray my marijuana plants, does it.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
No? No, no, no, I'm talking about the weeds that
grow in the you know, in your in the lawn
the one. No. No, we are not involved with anything
like that.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Okay, uh, listen, one hundred dollars, you know that's a
little bit much for me. What about if y'all just
drove by my place once a week and whenever the
grass is like six seven inches tall, y'all could just
stop and cut it.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
That would be cheap.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Well yeah, I mean it kind of doesn't work that way.
We need to be on a schedule.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Is there anything y'all could put on my grass to
make it not grow so fast? Well?

Speaker 3 (03:10):
No, because most people want their grass to grow so
that it's like rush and green, and you wouldn't want
to do that. Then you wouldn't have a lawn.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Right I mean, well, see, that's what I don't care about. Really,
the city's making me cut the grass. I don't care
if I have grass or not. I mean, I don't
care if you'll kill it.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
You want to maintain the property and the value of
your property.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
No, not really.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Well, your neighbors, though they must, they must be concerned.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Well, honestly, Boner doesn't give it about his neighbors.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Okay, mister Peters, Boner call me Boner. I would prefer
not to. Okay, So why don't we Why don't we
do this? Why don't we maybe set up a consultation where.
