Today's good news Sally Yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:31):
And a heartwarming show of community spirit. The small town
of Chelsea, Michigan, pulled off a literary feat literally when
the beloved local bookstore, Serendipity Books announced it was moving
to a larger space. The owner, her name's Michelle, was
faced with a logistical challenge. How do you move nine
one hundred books and hundreds of boxes without having to
close her business for days? I mean, it's just a

(00:53):
small bookstore. But she was moving into a better space.
So she came up with what we're calling a novel idea.
She put out a call for volunteers, hoping some might
lend a hand, and what she got was a full
on movement, a human conveyor belt stretching three hundred and
fifty feet from the old store stock room around the
corner into the new location. So more than three hundred

(01:14):
people and even a dog showed up to help her.

Speaker 5 (01:17):
There was a ninety one year old woman, there was
somebody with their six year old child, and we see
it if we just did it book by book, everybody
could be involved. People started clapping and cheering and singing,
and it was just it was just overwhelming. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
So they formed two human chains and they just passed
book by.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Book my book.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
Okay, So isn't it something they did like with buckets
of water for putting out a fire?

Speaker 2 (01:41):
I guess back in the day.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
But I mean, did she not hear about a moving
company or something, or she didn't want to spend the
money on a moving company.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
She's a small, locally owned goods store.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
So that's so cool.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
It only took them two hours to do it. What
they had so many volunteers, And the great thing was
is they kept the books in alphabetical order.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Oh my god, it was very well organ Now that's amazing. Yeah,
good sort there you go. Today's good news.
