Speaker 2 (00:03):
Miley Cyrus got her start as a child actor, most
famously in her breakout lead role in Hannah Montana, but
it's been years since she's accepted another acting gig, focusing
instead on her thriving music career, and she tells The
New York Times there's two reasons for that. She says
she was always a singer first and foremost, and got
the role of Hannah Montana because of that. They needed
a kid who could really belt it out. Miley certainly

(00:24):
fit the bill, but she adds that the main reason
she stayed away from acting since is because the right
role hasn't found its way to her, saying, I became
an actress so I could bring Hannah to life, and
then I just never found another fitting role. Because I'm
such a character myself to find something that can absorb
me completely is really challenging. So I challenge every writer
and director out there to bring one to me, because

(00:45):
I'd love to do it. I either want to be
myself because I'm really good at that, or I want
to throw me away because I'm good at that too.
I'm not good in the middle, and that's Miley Cyrus There,
whose new album Something Beautiful is out now.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
