The best nineties teen TV show is gonna break it
down and see for your green necks So this is
per fag for Throwback Thursday. The top nineties teen TV
shows according to Ranker Very reputable over nineteen thousand votes
determine this list. So let's break down the top tennessee
if we agree.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
Number ten is your Girl Clarissa explains it.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
All, Melissa joonhrt okay.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Number nine, my so called life. I never watched that.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
I never watched that either, Claire, it was it was
more dramatic with teen angst. We were probably too young,
sort of like Dawson's Creek with Claire Danes and Jared Leto.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
What's funny you say that? Because Dawson's Creek is next
at number eight?

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Oh okay, I didn't watch that one either.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Number seven Beverly Hills Nano two to one.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Oh okay, drama drama.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
Number six, that's seventy show comedy, all right. Number five
Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
I ran for a long time too.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Look at your girl, Melissa Jonhart. She's at number four
again with Sabrina the teenage Witch.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Go ahead with two in the top ten.

Speaker 5 (01:52):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Number three the fresh Prince of bel Air.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
West, Philadelphia.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Born and raised on the playground as wells Bambus number two,
Boy Meets.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
World that was pretty funny, and number.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
One Saved by the Bell Baby number one.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
That's pretty cool for a little Saturday morning show. All
the other shows, it is more iconic I think than
the others. Well, irony is it was a Saturday morning
show and all the other ones are all prime time.

Speaker 6 (02:19):
Yeah, so that's you had a bigger impact on us
than any of those others.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Wow, all those people voted to that, I say thank
you very much.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
N And he recently got an award sent to the
house for this, an actual trophy.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Oh nice.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
More Mario Lopez coming up?

Speaker 3 (02:35):
What aut Mario Lopez here? And this is a pretty
wild coincidence. Back in the day, Madonna used to have
a girl in the neighborhood walk her dog and she
would pay her in jewelry. That girl would grow up
to become Kim Kardashian.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
I don't even believe this is true.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
The mad ring, Well, the math doesn't seem to work
because Madonna, who's sixty something now.

Speaker 6 (02:59):
And Kim's forty two, is three?

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Right?

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Well, I mean I guess maybe did that. Yeah, yeah,
but Madonna no, well, well Madonna, no, she did live.
She lives in New York now, but she did live
in LA for a long time. Here in Lake Hollywood,
you might still have the property, so I guess that's
a fun rumor. No matter what, what up Mario Courtney
Lopez here, don't forget that you can listen to this
show as a podcast.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
So much fun too.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
We take out the music and dents it down to
a snack sized portion, but.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
You'll still get all the fun, the games and Hollywood buzz.
Just open up your iHeartRadio app or whatever you used
to get your podcasts and search for On with Mario.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Love hearing from you, guys, questions, comments, whatever you got.
Just hit us up on Facebook or x at on
with Mario or over on ig at On with Mario Lopez.
Would you find honey?

Speaker 4 (03:50):
This is from at Rust Belt Buckle. Okay, heard you
talking about the red pistachios and wondering what happened to them.
I don't know how old you are, but you must
be around sixty if you remember them. Way back in
the day. The pistachios came from Iran, Iran, Iran, I
ran Iran.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
You you're on and.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
They died them red. For some reason, shortly after the
Iranian Revolution, we stopped importing them.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Rust belt Buckle, thank you for that fun fact. I
did not know they were Persian pistachios.

Speaker 6 (04:24):
We still don't know why they're read.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
But why did you say it like a surfer Persian
pistachios reeves.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
I don't know, but I read. I guess they're appealing there.
It was as a kid around sixty, right, that's so funny.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
I did not know that.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
I wish I would have known this fun fact.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Well now you do, I do.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Thanks for do you know? Thanks for listening, Russ belt Buckle.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
For Mario Lopez coming up wile Corney Lopez.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
There was some Hollywood buzz Emma Stone starting to ask
people to call her by her real name, Emily. You're
probably asking, why didn't you just start out Emily Stone. Well,
there was already another Emily Stone at the time in
the business. And Emma is a little bit of a
tribute to her favorite spice girl, Emma Button. Akaa, baby Spice.

(05:14):
Look at that.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
That's very cute. I'm sure Baby Spice is honored.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
I'm sure. As gome back to music, Maria Lopez. Here
we got a message in our inbox about our conversation
on showering. This is from Melissa Miller in Pennsylvania.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
I have to say that today doctors are telling people
not to shower every day because you're washing away natural
oils and that's why people's skin and hair are dry.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Melissa, appreciate you reaching out. This is one time I
would not listen to doctors. You.

Speaker 6 (05:45):
How much did Nichols pay you to say that?

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Yeah, here's the deal.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Yes, essentially some oils may not be in the mix
once you take a shower, but I think the pros
outweigh the cons. You can leave us a message to
find the talk back button at the bottom of your
iHeart Radio.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Yah, Mari Corney Lopez. Let's put on our thinking caves.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
It's time for Courtney's random question.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
What do you got if you were the DJ at
the most important party in the world. What's the first
song you play?

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Well, you don't want to start off too hard when
you're when you're djaying okay, you got to kind of
like ease into it. And I'm assuming this is an
all adults party, right, It's not a family gathering.

Speaker 6 (06:30):
It's the most important party in the world.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
So well, that could be you. You could have family there.
If it's the most important prank, let's assume it's all adults.
I would start with Michael Jackson's Don't Stop Till You
get enough, because it starts with done done, and everybody
knows the time to get to the dance floor, and
then it just starts to turn up and you hit
him with what honey?

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Whoa Michael? Michael? Michael's as good as your Trump?

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Don't that you? Again? More fun on the way on
with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Here was some quick buzz Leo DiCaprio has said he'll
never do a superhero movie, but he once came close.
Director Zack Snyder says he almost got him to play
Lex Luthor in Batman Versus Superman.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
That's pretty cool to play, I think a superhero. But
apparently Leo had the idea of Superman fighting the Justice League,
which would later happen in a future movie. In the
role ended up going to Jesse Eisenberg.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Wow. I think it's kind of cool that he's he's
never done it.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Okay, a little more music.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
They're gonna fire up the zoom and get to Today's
guest singer songwriter Jojo, Mario and Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
Here, we're gonna get the scoop on the new music.
She just dropped her recent memoir and lots to talk
about when Jojo joins us next.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Up here on Mario Lopez joining me right now on
Zoom multi platinum recording artist Jojo. How you been, Jojo?

Speaker 2 (08:05):
I've been good. Mario?

Speaker 3 (08:07):
How you been? I'm doing well?

Speaker 2 (08:08):
You look great?

Speaker 3 (08:08):
You look great?

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Congrats.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
You dropped your brand new EP ANDNGL a couple of
weeks ago, and a lot of people are digging the music.
How's it feel to be back in the studio again?

Speaker 2 (08:20):
It feels great. I was.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
I was on Broadway for the past couple of years,
doing a couple of runs at Mulan Rouge and fun
to be to be singing my you know, putting out
my new stuff. Just feels like it feels great. It's
been a minute.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Yeah, How did you like that Broadway run? It's a
lot of hard work.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
I loved it.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
I wanted to rise to the level of these performers,
like eight shows a week is.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
No joke, no exactly.

Speaker 5 (08:44):
I loved living in New York so much that I
moved there. Like I'm an East Coast girl, so being
back in that felt really good and I just I
got to really grow and after being in the game
for a long time, like I'm looking for opportunities to
expand and grow and it at least it gave me.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
That awesome Where are you from? Originally Massachusetts? Okay, so yeah,
definitely an East Coast co All right, Jojo, hang tight
for me quick break and we're gonna have more with Jojo.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Mario Lopez here agetting back to singer Jojo, who's hanging
out with.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Us this hour.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
New EP is n g L And the album is
it a Does it have kind of a musical representation,
a little maybe Broadway feel to it? Or is it
more about like your memoir of last year or no, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (09:27):
There's there's no Broadway feel to it. It's it's inspired
by it's soul full, but there's really great hooks I
think on there. So it's like, you know, it's a
cross note pop, R and B type of record. Genre
matters so much less than when I started out, which
is so nice, you know, And so yeah, NGL is

(09:51):
basically being like, I'm not gonna lie about all the
things that sound like they're contradictions within me, feeling like
strong and superbomb and confident, and then sometimes and like
oh you know what am I doing? And just like
that confusion that I think lives within a lot of
us is something that I write about on the CP.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
Got it all right? Well, hey, in time, we're gonna
have more with Jojo coming up the first and more music.
Catching up with multi platinum recording artist Jojo. This hour
you on Mario Lopez. Let's talk about your latest single,
Ready to Love. People are calling it a throwback to
nineties R and B, which is I love personally?

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Is that the vibe you were going for.

Speaker 5 (10:31):
I mean, I don't know that I was trying to
make a nineties R and B record necessarily, but I
love that it might make people feel that way because
there was something very special about that time where people
weren't afraid to be vulnerable to say you know, I
love you, I miss you, all these different things. What
I love about Ready to Love is that it talks

(10:52):
about me arriving at that place within myself where I
was clear on who I was and what my boundaries
were and saying if if someone is not ready for
the things that I'm ready for, then I need to
move on.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
So absolutely see very uh, very wise now because I
got to grow, you know exactly. All Right, one more thing,
I want to ask a few songs that we're gonna
come back and rap it out, all right, I gotta
wrap it up with singer Jojo Mario Lopez here and
I remember you were signed young, like twelve years old,
I believe, like one of the youngest artists to debut
at number one, right, Yeah, we remember about that time.

(11:32):
Was it a bit of a blur or it was
a dream come true?

Speaker 5 (11:37):
Like I know a lot of people who started out
as children had really negative experiences because they didn't want
to be doing it. Well, that was my case for me.
I wanted it more than anything, you know. I loved
I loved performing, and I loved getting to use this
gift that God gave me and from a very young age.
So yeah, it was a bit of a blur. But

(11:58):
in writing my which came out last year, over the influence,
I really just gave myself the space to even see
what I remembered because.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
I hadn't thought about it. Yeah, that much, you know
what I mean?

Speaker 5 (12:11):
And it was it was really cool to look back
on my twenty year career and be like, whoa, things
that confused me or didn't make sense. Now that I'm
seeing them all laid out in black and white, I
can have compassion for my younger self even when I
was a bit of like a bit of a like
a bit of a like you know whatever, like the
little diva or whatever. I can understand.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
The process too, imagine, was very therapeutic. So that's very cool. Well,
congrat congratulations. I'm glad that he's still doing your thing
and kicking butt out there. Everyone. Please be sure to
check out JoJo's new EP ng L, which is out now,
and check her out on tour all spring long. And
please give my love to Randy. I will Randy the dog.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
We love him, He's the man.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
He's an hour right, Jojo, thanks for checking in. Thanks Maria.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
Okay, a full interview now at on with Mario dot Com.
More Mario Lopez on the.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Way, Gavin the music and fun coming your way. You're Mario,
Courtney Lopez. Letting things get a little.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Weird for a second with Courtney's random thought what you got, honey,
I'm so weird.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
You know, ever since I could remember, I've just I've
always wanted to go back to bed. I literally my
alarm goes off and I think about the nighttime when
I get to get back into bed.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
You know that expression, You've made your bed, now lie
in it.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Okay, that sounds awesome. Yeah, that sounds great.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
That's not a punishment. I'm down for that. I'm with you.
Mario Lopez. Here with a cool fun fact for you.
Janet Jackson was nearly one of the X Men. She
was offered the role of Storm, but filming conflicted with
her tour schedule, and the role ended up going to
Halle Berry. That is a fun fact. She never did
end up going to the MCU universe. Huh a, Mario

(13:54):
Courtney Lopez. Not for another helpful life at what you
got for us today in Courtney's corner, Honey.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
Well, here's a helpful hack to help you tackle those
household chores you despise the most, which is probably everything.
So for chores that you don't like, like washing a
big pile of dishes, set a timer for four minutes
and tell yourself that you will do it. For four minutes,
and after the time goes off, you can stop if.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
You want to.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
Giving yourself an out makes it feel less cumbersome. Even
if you quit after four minutes, you can pick up later.
But typically you'll just keep going because getting started is
usually the hardest part. This is also what I do
with putting away laundry. What I'll do is I'll go, Okay,
every time I walk into the closet, I'll put away
a pile.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
I like that, and keep going.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
Sometimes I leave, I put away a pile and I leave,
But then I go back and I do more, and
it really helps because it doesn't feel like I have
such a hard day of work.

Speaker 5 (14:50):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
Spread it out on with Mario dot Com for more.
Mario Lopez returns in.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
A moment Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Here Doja Cat gives zeros when it comes to her
upcoming tour. She's telling fans to leave their kids at home.
When it comes to her shows, Dojah says she does
not make music for children. These are adult themes. Oh well,
that's that's not very nice, because there's a lot of
young people who are big fans and like her.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
I know, and you know what, I appreciate her honesty though,
because I'd much rather yeah, have a heads up, have
a heads up, then take my kid there and feel
like the worst parent to have ever lived.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
That's a very good point, so you know what, Yeah dojah,
Thanks for the heads up.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
All right, let's get back.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
To the music. Am Mario Lopez reminding you to download
the all new version of our free iHeart Radio app
so you never miss any of the fun we have
here on the radio show, the iHeart Radio App, making
it even easier to enjoy and discover your favorite radio stations,
artist radio Playlist podcast anytime anywhere almar dot com for
the downlist. All right, Mario Corney Lopez, You're almost time

(15:55):
to pass some mic, but not before we get to
one last thing. If you want to live longer, new
studies says have close friends. Back in the nineties, way
more people had at least six close friends. Now that
numbers dropped big time, with more people than ever having
zero close friends, and loneliness taken a toll. Mostly it's
affecting their mental health, but some don't seem to mind. However,

(16:16):
studies show a strong circle of friends might just add
years to your life. My theory social media. You can
make a lot of friends on social media or you
can exclude a lot of people because you start hearing
opinions that you may not align with, and therefore you
feel you're not going to have something in common. You
don't want to kick it. Before social media, you didn't
know what someone thought really politically or spiritualist to talk

(16:38):
to them unless you talk to them and asked about it.
And those are sort of taboo subjects. You didn't bring
up religion or politics, right, So you just kind of
hung with people and if you liked them, you liked them.
Later on, if you got close, maybe you brought it up,
but other than that, you didn't. Now you know what
everyone thinks, So people tend to get in a little.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
Clicks that way, Yeah, because they don't want to deal
with exactly and hear it. And I'm all about having
a handful of friends.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
All right, that's gonna do it for us.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Big thanks again to singer Jojoe for joining us earlier
on Maria dot com from my full chat with her.
More fun tomorrow until them.
