Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's the best a billion Lisa in the Morning.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Hey guys, Happy Saturday. It's producer Riley from Billy and
Lisa in the Morning. And I'm looking out the window.
The weather's looking pretty eh. So thanks for spending this
hour with us while we run through the top five
moments of the week. And let's get right into it
with the number five moment. We had Will Noon in
the comedian in studio because he was at laugh Boston
on Thursday. And I don't think I've seen Billy laugh
(00:25):
this hard while being simultaneously very nervous.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Now you're from Milton, I am okay. And you walked
in earlier this morning and we got to talking off
the air and meet you, Lisa Winnie, and you said
you actually did comedy at a family event for the
Okey family.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
I did a lot a long time ago, I guess
you could say. And it feels like it was at
the beginning of all this. It was just it was
just I do a lot of fundraisers for you know,
tragic things. Surely this was one of those things. My
dad was a Boston policeman. I will always do anything
for the Boston Police if they asked me to I
think they're all heroes. You know, who where's a badge
(01:05):
is a hero to me. So I know there's they're
not all perfect guys, but I'll do anything when they call.
Speaker 5 (01:11):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
So I get a call from uh Fitsie and Jerry Thornton.
They're like, hey, we got this call. It's this very
sad story. Is poor guy is Yeah, he was tragically
killed and his uh you know, he had adopted these
two kids and they lost their parents. I was like,
I'm there, you know, and we had this great night
and and uh.
Speaker 6 (01:29):
And this was early on.
Speaker 7 (01:30):
This was very early on. I never heard the name
Karen Read.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
It was just I met this I met his family,
I met all these people, and it was just this
very sad story.
Speaker 7 (01:36):
And we had a great night.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
We raised a lot of money. Sure, and then you know,
in the following weeks or months, I'm seeing this story
on TV and I'm hearing it that's the family, you know.
So I've always kind of had that connection to them
from the beginning where they're just super good people and
no one there was you know, they did ask me
to join a giant criminal conspiracy, but I said no, I.
Speaker 7 (01:56):
Okay, just here we go. Wait a minute. Now you
just doorkay, you open the door.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
So so okay, when you take the stage, like even tonight, will.
Speaker 7 (02:06):
You have Karen wouldn't be the place? Do you have
in the past?
Speaker 5 (02:14):
Right?
Speaker 7 (02:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (02:14):
I do, because you know, I'm like, I'm I'm out there,
I'm in the I literally, you know.
Speaker 7 (02:18):
And one of those people who drank at the bar.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
She drank at you know what I mean. I went
to the waterfall, I went to the hillside, loved the hillside.
By the way, shut out, give me a blt for freemicks.
Speaker 7 (02:29):
Did she have her own chair?
Speaker 5 (02:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (02:31):
Yeah, it's covered in glass. Now a lot of people
bump into it. I don't know what's going on anyway.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
It's uh I see, uh, I see a lot of
I've actually met Taurus there from like the north.
Speaker 7 (02:44):
Oh they west and stuff. They're like everyone the Karen
Reid tore. I'm like, oh my god, so uh yeah,
but I do.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
I watched a trial. Everyone wants to talk about it.
As a comedian, people ask me all the time, They're like,
what do you think? Do you think she's guilty or
you think she's innocent? And I go, well, you know,
that's kind of my favorite thing about it because she
doesn't know she's right. She drank so much fun. We've
all been there, we've all, you know, had a few
too many indoors. You try and kind of pretend the
next day you didn't and you're like, oh, man, remember
we went home right after the bar and everyone's like, we.
Speaker 7 (03:11):
Didn't go home, we went back to your house. He
showed us videos or you on vacation in hour and
you're kind of like, oh, yeah, yea, yea, yeah, yeah,
I totally remember that.
Speaker 5 (03:23):
Right.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
She's the same way. She's like you could tell when
they're given evidence. Sometimes she's like, wow, Wow, I'm sorry.
Speaker 7 (03:30):
To think I did it. I'm sorry to believe it,
do you know what I mean? Like watch her face.
Speaker 8 (03:38):
Had that much vodka and remembers any.
Speaker 7 (03:42):
He got the dog. She didn't admit that she had
like seven vodkas in like three hours.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
And you know, now they're showing her like on ID,
like they're showing the videos of her like talking to
just the camera.
Speaker 7 (03:51):
Cor She's like, honestly, I don't w know did I
go through the light. It's like, you're having too much fun.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
I think we're just gonna move on to an other
topic at this point, especially since you've got the event tonight's.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
Gonna say, I'm gonna have ladies and pink T shirts
in the parking lot I wait.
Speaker 8 (04:06):
For right now, Like, oh my god, it's Maura Heally
is behind all of this. I'm living in Turtle Boy's
basins and they making sure his cab in monoxide.
Speaker 7 (04:24):
Detectives don't work. Okay, you're not paying attention. If you're
not listening, you're not paying attention. So let him go.
He's cooking right now. They're all in my comments on
Instagram every day. You're afraid of the truth. You're afraid
(04:45):
of the truth.
Speaker 8 (04:45):
Well no, so no, I wish we could go to
break right.
Speaker 7 (04:54):
We can't schedule that's gonna be back, you know. Yeah,
sure do you live in still No, we're out in
the pole and that thing. Yeah, she wouldn't be able
to go home to.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
Now. I'm even closer though, to like the Karen read like,
you know, epicenter of like Medfield and stuff like that.
Speaker 5 (05:10):
They got.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
She's got both fans of there's billboards. Do you ever
see the people who stand on the overpast? Yes?
Speaker 5 (05:15):
Yeah, it's a good way.
Speaker 7 (05:17):
To spend a day.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
It's well noon and everybody appearing alive tonight at laft
Boston U sharing his thoughts.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
Wow, did you support me and my beliefs? Follow me
on Instagram and you can fight the good fight together?
Speaker 7 (05:34):
Will mean in the Communian Okay, I'm gonna save you here. Okay,
you just had a baby. Oh, yes, a beautiful little baby.
Her name is Laurai. Congratulation. Yeah, and she's awesome As
your wife, she's doing awesome.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
I love my wife very much, and she's just doing
an amazing job at being a mother.
Speaker 7 (05:53):
And it's really cool to see that.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
And and I feel like this is why I'm doing
I'm having a more awake today because I'm used to
being up at even in the morning.
Speaker 9 (06:00):
Now.
Speaker 7 (06:00):
Used to kind of like come in here.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
Yeah, and I'd be like, oh man, I'm coming and
I'm up all night. Now I'm just like, who's what
is sleep?
Speaker 7 (06:07):
What is it? Yeah? I don't remember so well.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
I want to ask you something. Does does your wife
still find you funny?
Speaker 7 (06:14):
Oh my god?
Speaker 4 (06:15):
I thought that was gonna end with attractive And the
answer was no question.
Speaker 7 (06:23):
The question is did she ever?
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Because my wife, I think Michelle used to find me funny,
but now I just get the.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Eye rolls would probably have a lot to talk about
and their billies.
Speaker 7 (06:36):
They would say, I feel like.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
Women who are married to guys like us, they they
they do a job that not a lot of other
women know about, you know, they suffer through our jokes.
Speaker 7 (06:47):
Are like, didn't you just say that? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (06:50):
No, I'm like always like, oh man, you know, like
all the other comedians are better, are doing better.
Speaker 10 (06:57):
Oh my god, Like I'm never gonna be on kilte.
She's like, oh, you're great, and it's it's it's good
that you're doing, you know, like New Hampshire Lottery acts.
Speaker 7 (07:09):
That's what Shane Gillis wishes.
Speaker 10 (07:11):
He was.
Speaker 7 (07:15):
Just think about. You don't want to be on SNL anyway.
They say it's so hard. Yeah, yeah, you know, screw that.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Oh my gosh, I'm so glad. I asked, So you
get the eye roll then?
Speaker 4 (07:28):
Yeah, well yeah, sure, well okay, yeah yeah. Sometimes I'll
run a joke by her and just if I get
like if she blinks or clears her throat, I'm like,
that's a good one. She's awesome though she works very hard.
She works at Brigham, oh Women's Hospital and she's like
a healthcare hero.
Speaker 7 (07:42):
She's out there all day like just so that's the
funny thing. So she definitely doesn't find you fun Oh
my god.
Speaker 4 (07:47):
And especially like if I'm like, oh man, tough gig
last night, She's like, oh yeah, I did a person.
Speaker 7 (07:51):
Poop on you.
Speaker 11 (07:52):
That's what.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
So if you know anything about the Billy and Lisa
in the Morning show, you know that we love to
surprise Billy, and Billy loves to humble brag.
Speaker 12 (08:01):
Hey.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
It's producer Riley from Billy and Lisa in the Morning,
and we had Chrisvogel from Boston Magazine on to surprise
Billy with a list that he is a part of.
Speaker 7 (08:10):
It's number four. Good morning, Chris, Hey.
Speaker 11 (08:12):
Billy Heyl, thank you so much for having me on today.
Speaker 7 (08:14):
You've got some big story you want to announce.
Speaker 11 (08:16):
Well, listen, guys, I like to bring news, good news
everywhere I go. So I have to say to Billy
that I'm very excited to say congratulations. See you. Is
a true honor to have you on the list this year.
Speaker 7 (08:27):
Hold on, I'm on a list.
Speaker 11 (08:29):
You're on our one hundred and fifty most Influential Bostonians
list Today.
Speaker 7 (08:37):
Look at you, Belle.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
I'm sorry this hits the news stands, as we used
to say, today, this.
Speaker 11 (08:42):
Hits the new stands of that today and online later
this morning. And please let me say, Billy that you
tween the show and your work with Chuenny on Dining,
playbook and the cookbook, you know you're the true true
voice of Boston and that practimply wouldn't be the same
without you.
Speaker 7 (08:56):
Today, Well deserved, Bell, Thank you for having you. Thank you,
Ny producer. When did you hear.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
That I I'm leaving my mark on Boston.
Speaker 7 (09:05):
You are, I'm a leader of the city of Boston.
You've left your mark on me for sure.
Speaker 11 (09:14):
Today.
Speaker 6 (09:14):
Wow?
Speaker 7 (09:15):
And justin just handed me the list. I just don't
know what to say, Boston. I just don't feel as
though I'm.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Deserved, But I do want to look at the list
that like the Okay. For instance, in the top ten,
you've got Abigail Johnson, now she heads up Fidelity.
Speaker 7 (09:31):
That's big.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
That is big in Boston. You've also got Mayor Michelle
wou mayor of Boston. You've got maur Heirley, the governor
of Massachusetts. Number two is very impressive in some way.
Sandy and Paul, the co founders of the Quinn House,
which is a very cool post.
Speaker 11 (09:53):
That was a very cool bost that was That was
a wonderful tufer with Paul there first. They're incredible philantheus
and as you said, it kills of the Queen and
they are literally through their club to vating people and
who are making a great impact in the city. And
it's a phenomenal achievement.
Speaker 13 (10:08):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
And I think fittingly at number one on the list
the Boston Celtics and the owner of Wick Grouseback.
Speaker 11 (10:17):
Absolutely, we really wanted to recognize Vic and the Boston Celtics.
This year the exceptional year they had a twenty twenty
four championship women that sort of just elections by the
city with as a tremendous person and after selling the team,
he's gonna stick around for a little while, so we're
all very grateful for that.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
We look at number seventeen, you got Jim Davis, owner
of New Balance. Oh and at number twenty one, our
friend Ed Caine from Big Night Entertainment to who by
the way, he's.
Speaker 7 (10:44):
Partner with my son Chris over at Big Night.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
Let me look further down, Oh, theyre's Sam Kennedy Fenway
Sports Group, Martha Sheridan at number thirty one. Actually she's
a partner of mine with the TV show Meet Boston.
She's in charge of Boston. So that's a good pick.
Let me go further down to where I am Chris,
and oh well there's herb Chambers at number four. Wow,
(11:11):
is very influential people, And again are you paying attention?
Speaker 7 (11:16):
What number are you? Oh?
Speaker 3 (11:19):
There, I am at uh the double Nickel number fifty five?
Speaker 7 (11:24):
Okay, the top Hondo.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
Yeah, okay, let's see who I beat? Is incredible?
Speaker 7 (11:32):
Is Chris? I love and I love the.
Speaker 6 (11:35):
Included I really do, because you really have made such
an impact in so many places around the city, the
food scene, the radio.
Speaker 7 (11:42):
Scene, all the charity work you do with the charity work. Yeah,
so it's well deserved.
Speaker 11 (11:46):
No, I'm very you're going through the list of music
to my years because the list and the ranking does
take a while, and there are many drafts before we
arrive at the final list. And it certainly is you know,
the rank us subjective. We surely acknowledge that. Celebrate that
because it's meant to be a conversation starter, just like
you guys are doing this morning.
Speaker 7 (12:04):
Yeah, No, I'm very honored.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
I mean, these are all very important people.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
I think you're from Maggie Sequels on there, Maggie see.
Speaker 7 (12:13):
A million dollar Maggie. Yeah all right. And to Maggie, hey,
look at that. I'd beat Ernie Bark Junior.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
You did, yeah about thirty, But no, Ernie's a dear
friend of mine.
Speaker 7 (12:24):
I love Ernie. Jim Cox from Boston Beer Company. Uh
what a list?
Speaker 5 (12:30):
Wow?
Speaker 7 (12:30):
Well you and Herb Chambers buddy on the list. Well,
you guys share everything, right.
Speaker 5 (12:33):
Herb shares most of the things with Billy, but maybe
it is fair for her to not let Billy play
with it.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Also on the list, and Sabby George, we love her.
Speaker 7 (12:45):
You just had her on the show, Chris, Oh.
Speaker 11 (12:49):
I think you had most of these people on the show.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
Oh yeah. David Wade WBZ love David Wade. Didn't you
just do the National the other night over the weekend?
Speaker 7 (12:59):
Yeah? At number one hundred and fifty.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Karen Reid, Oh, a good one.
Speaker 11 (13:09):
Argue she could be even higher this year. But I
can tell you tell you she's you know, we always
look for who's had a big year, and she had
a bigger year, you know, at least, you know, for
better or real than Karen.
Speaker 7 (13:20):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Yeah, putting this list together must have been next one possible.
Speaker 12 (13:26):
You know.
Speaker 11 (13:26):
I'll tell you, you know, when it comes to sort
of how do you make it to carnegew Hall or
what's in the Zigret sauce? You know, all I can
say is that it starts with a tremendous amount of research.
Speaker 12 (13:34):
Here.
Speaker 11 (13:34):
It's months and months of hitting the phones and observing
all the moving and shaking this down to really understand
who's shaping the city and how they're shaping it. And again,
we always do look for people who are really making
ways in this past year.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
And I love at the end you did an honorary
one hundred and fifty one.
Speaker 7 (13:48):
You gave it to Michelle Woo's baby, which is nice.
Speaker 11 (13:52):
And she's had a heck of the first year too.
Speaker 7 (13:54):
Yeah, she sure has.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
Well.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
I got to tell you, Chris, you're the opening act
of Tom Brady and you did a great job.
Speaker 11 (13:59):
I can't thank you enough, Billy, thank you for letting
me let me share the news.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
I am thoroughly honored, and please give our best to
everybody over at Boston Magazine.
Speaker 5 (14:11):
Buddy, congratulations well Billy will go up and clean up
the mess.
Speaker 7 (14:19):
Oh my god, jeez, you wrote every nice moment.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Hey, guys, welcome into the top five moments of the week.
I'm producer Riley from Billy and Lisa in the Morning.
So this week, Lisa Donovan's son, Riley Donovan, had all
of his dreams come true because we had Juliana, the
winner of this season of The Bachelor, come into the
studio and Riley got to ask all of the questions
he's been dying to have answered. It's number three.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
What's it been like like when you come home from
a national show, a really popular show like The Bachelor?
What's it like when you get home to the neighborhood
and such?
Speaker 14 (14:55):
Well, walking my dog has become different. You know, all
my neighbors see me and they'll come out and say, Hi,
just want to know all the tea, all of the
behind the scenes stuff.
Speaker 7 (15:05):
It's funny, we do too, but it's.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Really like a whirlwind.
Speaker 12 (15:09):
You know.
Speaker 14 (15:09):
You take a couple of days to just decompress and
get back into you know, your normal headspace, and you
try to just take it day day by day.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
Honestly, Now, do you have your own place here or
are you sleeping in your bedroom at your parents' house.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
I have my own apartment in Waltham with my roommate.
Speaker 7 (15:25):
Yeah, don't give out the addressed god for that.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
But it's been nice and I do I go.
Speaker 14 (15:30):
It's really close to Newton, so I go to visit
my parents like every day.
Speaker 6 (15:34):
So when you are Grant are out together, do you
constantly get recognized?
Speaker 11 (15:37):
Now?
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Yes, for sure. He's hard to miss.
Speaker 14 (15:41):
So when we're together, it's like people are very excited
to see him, and then I'm kind of like there
with him.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
I'm like, hey, but do you like getting recognized everywhere
you go?
Speaker 7 (15:54):
I guess that's part of the game, right.
Speaker 14 (15:55):
It's part of the game, for sure. It's taking It
has taken some getting used to.
Speaker 5 (16:01):
You know.
Speaker 14 (16:02):
I am a bit of an awkward person, I think,
just like by nature, I'm kind of shy a bit, so,
you know, but it's been really fun and it's really
cool to see the excitement of people and just kind
of feel like you're connected to them through this weird,
strange event.
Speaker 7 (16:16):
Now, what are I mean?
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Obviously we saw your family at the famous backyard party, yes,
which everybody wanted to be there. It's just your family
seems like a very welcoming, very friendly, very cool family. Absolutely,
but what's the family conversation now that you're home? They
must have questions that they didn't want to ask when
they were on TV and such.
Speaker 14 (16:38):
Yeah, you know, my family, I'm so blessed. My family
really cares about just me and you know, my headspace,
and so every day they're checking in, you know, how's
your head, how's your heart like those types of questions,
and you know, I think the priority for them is
that I'm happy and that I feel like good in
what's happening. So, you know, they wanted to know a
(17:00):
little bit more about Grant. They had a couple questions about,
you know, what he does for his day to day job,
like does he how close is he with his family?
Like those types of things, And even my dad and
his dad talk a lot, and my mom and his
mom talk a lot. I talked to his sister Taylor
quite a bit. So it's it's nice, yeah, really good.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (17:23):
Yeah, yeah, I.
Speaker 6 (17:24):
Want to ask I want to ask a question. When
you guys were done filming and you knew that you
guys were together, where did you meet up?
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Like how did you keep it a secret?
Speaker 14 (17:33):
So they they will let us get together in LA
every couple of weeks, and you're really kind of just
in a house hanging out alone.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
You don't leave, you don't you know.
Speaker 14 (17:46):
Have any connection to the outside world. Again, so it's
an unconventional way to I don't know, stay connected because personally,
I prefer just facetiming him every day, waiting till we
can be in the public.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
But that's kind of how that goes.
Speaker 14 (18:00):
You meet up every like two or three weeks out
in LA and just spend like a weekend together.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
Do you arrive separately?
Speaker 1 (18:06):
Yes?
Speaker 7 (18:08):
Oh yes.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Now is there a date like wedding plants or has
there been a discussion or is it too early?
Speaker 14 (18:16):
Too early for sure, I think that there's just so
much getting used to in this new normal for us
before we take that next step, because I also really
just want to enjoy it. I don't want I know,
wedding planning can be stressful. I have a big family,
you know, I know everyone wants to know everything all
the time. So we're kind of just putting it on
(18:36):
the back burner for a bit just to really enjoy
each other's company.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
And we have a couple of good trips coming.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
Up now, Juliana, if you look directly across from you
in the studio, you'll notice I'm sure you've been wondering,
why is there a young teenage boy sitting in the
studio at a microphone. I'm guessing you probably wondered, right, Yeah,
tell me about that. Riley Dunovan happened to be Lisa
Dunovan's son. Yeah, but here's the story. Since he was
(19:04):
nine years old, he has been a dedicated fan of
the show The Bachelor, so much so that once a week,
the morning after the episode, Riley comes on and breaks
it all down.
Speaker 7 (19:15):
That's correct, So awesome, Riley. Do you have questions for Julian?
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Yes, I have a lot.
Speaker 12 (19:21):
This is a super Bowl, Yeah, I mean Boston, this
is crazy, like this is this is so surreal to
have a winner from Boston. First of all. But first
of all, I'd like to say, because I've been thinking
all season, I'm like, you know, from the first episode,
when you know girls start obviously kissing Grant, It's like, yeah,
what does his breath smell like?
Speaker 7 (19:41):
Was it good? Here's the first question.
Speaker 5 (19:43):
He's like a.
Speaker 12 (19:43):
Wave of heat that like just like moves over you
or is it just is it good?
Speaker 1 (19:48):
It very good?
Speaker 12 (19:49):
You know.
Speaker 14 (19:49):
I think that the team does a really good job
of also having like mint and.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
Hand at all times. So it was really good. He
is good breath. Yeah, that's good.
Speaker 7 (20:00):
And let me just write that down. Grant has very
good breath.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
That's good.
Speaker 7 (20:05):
I can relax now.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
That's good.
Speaker 12 (20:08):
That was That was my hot question. So as we
went throughout the season, I noticed like as we got through,
like more of the women who like just seemed like
less like interest at the beginning just sort of fell
off and it's more of like more interest as you
get later in the season. So, like, I know that
(20:28):
a lot of the women were like, oh, I absolutely
love this guy after like three episodes in which is
like I'm assuming like three weeks or so. It's like,
what happens to those women? Are they like are they
forced to like play along with the game in reality
when they're like, oh I can't. I just couldn't see
this working.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (20:46):
Well, you know, I think that there's so many different
ways you could go about this process, right, you'd want
to be true to yourself, But I think ultimately, you
know you're on the Bachelor, you know there's other women involved,
it's kind of how fast do you want to let
your guard down to have that connection with him? Versus
what I kind of did was kind of just was like, yeah,
(21:07):
I like him, but like, you know, I'm not sure
I need to spend more time with him to really
get to know him. And I think some of the
girls did that as well, and then they were like,
the minimal amount of time that you really get to
spend with him in the beginning unless you get one
on ones, it's hard to really like find that true
like connection of the possibility of being in love or
engaged at the end of it. So at some point,
(21:29):
I think some of the girls are like, eh, like this.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Is not for me.
Speaker 14 (21:32):
I'm not going to get enough time. I've got to go,
And they're just like kind of playing the game at
that point. And then some girls are like, oh no,
I want to be here till the end. I'm gonna
let my guard down and let him into every aspect
of me and just keep my fingers crossed.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
Well, it is an unusual process, super unusual. So the
moment you felt you loved Grant, yeah, was it hard
to listen to the other remaining women talking about their
relationships with Grant.
Speaker 14 (22:01):
For some reason, it wasn't hard for me because I
think it took me a really long time to even
like acknowledge that within my own head and then verbalize
it to him.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
But at the same time, I just always.
Speaker 14 (22:15):
Knew, like we are on the Bachelor, there are other girls, like,
I'm gonna protect myself, and I did try and like
get some information from girls, like where are you at
with him, you know, to help myself out.
Speaker 6 (22:27):
I was so impressed that you stayed out of the drama.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
Yeah, was that hard to do?
Speaker 14 (22:32):
You know, there really wasn't too much drama. I really
had such a good experience with a lot of the girls.
Of course, there was the one situation where I did
my best to like have a non confrontational conversation, and
you know, however it turned and was portrayed like it's
not up to me. But it really wasn't that hard.
(22:52):
I was kind of just really friendly with everybody and
they were really respectful.
Speaker 7 (22:55):
So now we heard Grant is moving here? See that accurate?
Speaker 1 (23:01):
Yes it is.
Speaker 7 (23:01):
Have you found a place yet together or are you looking?
Speaker 14 (23:05):
Or we actually have Mike EV's fabulous wife, Kelsey. She's
going to be helping us out.
Speaker 7 (23:11):
A real estate Yes, yeah, yes, stars.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
We've been. Yes, she is, and so we've just been
kind of chit chatting with her. Nothing.
Speaker 14 (23:18):
We don't have like a time frame necessarily for it,
because we have so much travel coming up in the
next couple of months that, you know, we want to
make it make sense when we like, pick a place
in the are paying.
Speaker 7 (23:29):
Is there an area or town you've got your mind.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
We're really open to anything.
Speaker 7 (23:32):
You know.
Speaker 14 (23:33):
I would love to be in the city, but I'm
also not opposed to being outside of the city because
that's where I am now and it's easy to go
in and out for work. So I'm really up for
whatever makes the most sense.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
Hey guys, welcome back to the Top five Moments of
the week. I'm producer Riley from Billy and Lisa in
the Morning, and we already are at number two. I
can't believe it. This was a fun one. If you
haven't seen Netflix's big hit Love on the Spectrum, you're
gonna want to see this most recent seasons in three
because there's a local girl named Perry who joined us
(24:04):
in a studio to tell us all about her love
of the MBTA Michelle Wu and she even gave us
a relationship update.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
I don't know if you've seen the show Love on
the Spectrum on Netflix, by the way, currently trending number
seven on Netflix in terms of TV shows.
Speaker 7 (24:19):
And we've got a buddy.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
Of ours, Matt Sheer, who works down the hall our
sister station, WBZ News Radio. Matt, good to see you again.
Speaker 7 (24:26):
Yeah, good to see you, Billy, Lisa Winnie Justin.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
Matt, I'm gonna say it on the air. You are
one of the best journalists there is out there right now.
You are amazingly gifted me. And you landed on a
story and you found Parry Kim because Parry Kim is
local and somehow landed on the show.
Speaker 5 (24:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (24:47):
This like two years ago. I was doing a story
over at Porter Square on the Red Line and this
character came up to me with so much personality, so
much passion for the MBTN. I was like, this is amazing.
Story didn't end up making it to the for one
reason or another, but I held onto that footage for
years thinking like, gosh, I hope I can meet this
person again and like share her story, do something special.
(25:09):
One thing leads to another. I'm watching the trailer for
Love on the Spectrum season three, and I'm like, there
she is.
Speaker 7 (25:16):
Right here in studio. Parie, honey, good to see you too.
Speaker 9 (25:19):
Thanks for having me.
Speaker 7 (25:21):
How you doing so good? Good so far? We're gonna
get breakfast. Oh my gosh, thank you.
Speaker 9 (25:26):
I really feel your celebrity.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
Well, Parry, we know how Matt got the story through perseverance.
Speaker 7 (25:31):
How did you end up on Love on the Spectrum.
Speaker 9 (25:36):
So what happened was someone I know from the team
us it called It's a great Shell. It's loco. You
should totally see it at the Rockwell Theater Davis Square.
She sent me a link on Instagram for a casting
call for season three, and so I looked at that
and then I emailed the producers and set up an
interview on Zoom. So that went well, and then a
(25:59):
minute after the interview ended, I literally got a call
back saying they want to fall through to the next step.
Things went from there, and you could say the rest
is history.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
Wow, and everything's going viral up to and including your piece.
Speaker 5 (26:12):
Matt. That's right.
Speaker 7 (26:13):
Yeah, I just hit a million views last night. A
million last night. Yeah. Oh that's cool. Yeah, that's incredible.
I know, just a day later.
Speaker 13 (26:21):
No, But again, it's just all because Perry is just
such a lovable, fun character. Like if you've watched the
show The Perry that you see on TV. I can
confirm and you all.
Speaker 7 (26:30):
Can confirm now in this room.
Speaker 13 (26:31):
Is the Perry you getting real?
Speaker 7 (26:33):
It's authentic?
Speaker 12 (26:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (26:34):
Absolutely, thank you.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
I'm still not really clear Matt on how you encountered
Parry for the first time.
Speaker 7 (26:39):
Were you out looking for her?
Speaker 13 (26:41):
No, she came up to me. I was doing a
story about the escalator and I'll just say it.
Speaker 7 (26:45):
The escalator at Border Square. If you know, it's like
the longest eliator in the world, and when it goes.
Speaker 13 (26:50):
Out, people have to walk up those massive staircases. So
I was just talking to random people and she happened
to be one of them, and she walked.
Speaker 7 (26:57):
Up those really long stairs and we were all out
of breath, like, how you doing, I'm good, I'm good.
And so it was great.
Speaker 13 (27:05):
And then the funny thing was, so when I was
setting up this follow up interview, I want to do
something special, so I asked the MBTA, I'm like, look,
she has had every MBTA experience ever at this point,
probably been to every station. Is there somewhere else we
can take her, and they said, yeah, we have this
training facility that I guarantee you she's never seen. We've
got a blue line train down there, a green line Sivilize.
She can sit in the driver's seat, push all the buttons,
(27:26):
and that was gonna be it. But I guess they
had to get approval at the state level.
Speaker 7 (27:31):
And that's sure.
Speaker 13 (27:32):
Governor Moura heally found out about this. And I've never
told you this, Perry, but apparently she's a big fan
of yours, and so she was. She was originally going
to try to be there too, but she had to
back out. She's a very busy governor. So I said, well, man,
is there somebody else, another public figure who would want
to come? I was like, what about the mayor, Mayor Wu?
And of course she was down. And I had no
(27:53):
idea that Perry was such a Mayor Wu fan until
we were riding the tee to meet her, when I said,
what's your dream MBTA experience? And she said riding the
tea with Mayor Wu. Having no idea that we were
on our way to meet her.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Whoa and you got to ride the tea with Mayor
Wu Parry is so cool.
Speaker 9 (28:09):
Oh my gosh, I just can't believe it. It's like, I
guess stars struck around here. And I love how she's
pro poly trance and she's seemed so much good for
Boston and I really think it's at on her tap.
He was the mayor of her.
Speaker 7 (28:21):
City and you got to meet her baby.
Speaker 9 (28:23):
Yeah, so cute. Even had a funny moment where she
said she had to change their folds because they had
a little poops.
Speaker 5 (28:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (28:35):
I guess.
Speaker 13 (28:37):
It probably happened while we were while she was waiting
for us, and shout out to the mayor for like,
you know, being very generous with our time. Things were
not running on schedule for on our end, so we
got there. But she was so cool. She waited around
and she met Perry and it was awesome.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
And your other dream, I think Parry is Taylor Swift. Right,
how's that going?
Speaker 7 (28:54):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 9 (28:55):
I would do anything to meet her. She's my idol.
I've loved her ever since I was little. Her music
resonates to me so much. How if she's list, say,
I hope she'll take note to maybe come or follow
me or know me on social media.
Speaker 6 (29:08):
She does have a house in Rhode Island.
Speaker 7 (29:10):
My gosh, it's so pretty. I've been right near there.
Speaker 9 (29:13):
Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
And by the way, the Billy and Lisa Morning Show
is kind of a big deal, and iHeart is kind
of a big company.
Speaker 5 (29:20):
God.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
Who knows she might hear about you making an appearance
here and wanting to meet her, and knowing Taylor Swift,
she could very well reach out to us and make
something happen.
Speaker 7 (29:28):
I'm not promising about it. Who knows.
Speaker 9 (29:30):
I would love that my dreams to just come true.
My life would be complete a bit.
Speaker 7 (29:34):
Oh my god.
Speaker 9 (29:35):
The people fangirl when I followed them back on TikTok
insaga that will be me with Taylor Swift.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
So how has your life changed since meeting Mattcher and
going on Netflix.
Speaker 9 (29:48):
Oh wow, it's just it's incredible. It's like overnight. My
followers have been like boom, skyrocketing. Like I went from
like eight K followers before the Shell to now almost
one hundred and fifty k I think last I checked
them currently at one hundred and thirty nine K. My
TikTok's gone from three hundred files to like fifty one k.
Speaker 7 (30:08):
Wow, incredible.
Speaker 9 (30:11):
One of my videos are Actually now two of them
have reached a million views of just ones of me.
That's crazy. I'm just freaking out, like, oh my god.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
Now do you DM most of your followers? Do you
communicate with them at all?
Speaker 9 (30:29):
I try to get back to them. I have so
many requests, like I'm trying to answer all of them.
But yes, I like to DM with my fans and
interact with them to just show them how greatful I am.
All their love and support. It means the world to me.
Speaker 7 (30:42):
How about what the Netflix show?
Speaker 3 (30:43):
Have you gotten to meet a lot of special people
and have they become friends or Oh?
Speaker 9 (30:48):
Yes, before aired, I got to go to la for
the premiere of it and I got to meet all
of the main participants.
Speaker 7 (30:55):
It was a dream.
Speaker 9 (30:56):
Also the producers too, and some of the Netflix pr people.
Is really okay?
Speaker 7 (31:01):
You were on a Hollywood red carpet.
Speaker 9 (31:03):
Yeah, well except it was blue for hats of awareness.
Speaker 7 (31:09):
They do it so right, Netflix, isn't me they are.
Speaker 9 (31:12):
Oh my gosh, yeah, you follow me on Instagram. Not bracking,
but yeah, but we follow you Netflix.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
Well, we're finally at the number one moment of the week. Hey,
it's producer Riley from Billy and Lisa in the morning,
and Billy's son Chris Costa finally came through for us.
We had Tom Brady on the show and I truly
don't think that this man needs any introduction, but maybe
a reintroduction would be nice.
Speaker 7 (31:37):
What allow me to reinduce myself? My name is he
stood up?
Speaker 12 (31:43):
Hope?
Speaker 7 (31:44):
How used to move snowflakes? I am I can't see well?
And good morning Tom Brady, Good morning.
Speaker 5 (31:51):
I love that song I get you shirt up.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
Well, that was a special moment when you were honored
out at Jollette Stadium. You came out onto the field
and that song played. People went nuts.
Speaker 5 (32:04):
Yeah, that was such a special day for my family
and just to I think the culmination of a lot
of great years, so many fun times, and so many
great people that have been a part of my life.
Speaker 7 (32:15):
So that was that.
Speaker 5 (32:16):
One won't ever be recreated. RKK went over the top one,
that one that was a really special night.
Speaker 3 (32:22):
So is that always going to be a walk in song?
Like You're on Fallin next week? That's going to be
the song?
Speaker 5 (32:28):
That's a pretty you know, it's been a lot of
years going out to it, so it just gets me
in the frame of mind. We're all trying to get
that into that mode and get our game face on,
and that song did it for me for a long time.
Speaker 7 (32:39):
Now, the phrase let's go.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Did you ever try to nail that down and make
it your own legally?
Speaker 5 (32:45):
I know, you know, I think about it and then
I hear it all the time. And the best part
about that it can mean so many different things depending
on the tone and.
Speaker 11 (32:55):
How you say it.
Speaker 5 (32:56):
And there was a lot of those where I looked
at jewel ass like let's go, and you could use
it about I don't know, five seven different ways, and
it's a very versatile combination of words. So I use
it a lot of times to get fired up, and
that fired a lot of other people up. But I
see a lot of people use it now, so.
Speaker 7 (33:17):
Well, that's a pretty good one.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
It's so cool and it must feel so good for you, Tom,
because you see videos of high school and middle school
football teams and even young kids in high school and
college doing the let's go thing that you created.
Speaker 5 (33:30):
Yeah, a lot of years of it, and it's just
a yeah, man.
Speaker 11 (33:35):
There's a lot of things that.
Speaker 5 (33:36):
I looked up to, and a lot of people I
looked up to in my career. So I don't know,
it's always we'll give a little bit back. Hopefully a
lot of the young kids could drop the middle word
in that little.
Speaker 7 (33:45):
Series of word, so the PG version, yeah, we can
suggest it. So I got to set the scene.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
Okay, Tom, I've got my son, Chrissy, your partner with
cord Vault by Tom Brady. I'm here, Billy, I've got
Lisa here, Justin is here, Win he's here, Producer Riley
is here. And if you don't mind, Tom, we have
a fat head of you sitting in the main chair
so that we can actually see you while we're.
Speaker 7 (34:10):
Talking to you.
Speaker 5 (34:12):
Oh that makes me feel better. Well, And I'm kind
of in there, not even virtually. I'm actually a standy
is standing in for me.
Speaker 7 (34:18):
I gotta tell you, Tom, not your best picture. No,
you have pink eye in the picture.
Speaker 5 (34:27):
Chris, get on it, Tom, I'm on it, Tom.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
I got to say something, proud dad to proud dad,
I need to thank you so much for believing in
my son Chris in card Fault.
Speaker 7 (34:44):
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much.
Speaker 5 (34:47):
Yeah, I can't you know, there's thanks for me to
be involved with him and the whole crew at card Vault.
We just it's always about the right teammates, and it's
about everybody playing their job. And I think when you're
involved with the right people and the right teammates and
people have humility and a work ethic, you know there's
(35:09):
no limit to what can be accomplished. And you know,
we're doing this with a great collectible business, and it's
a great hobby. And I've been a collector for a
long time, but it's really about how do we take
our collective expertise and share it with the masses to
create a new generation of collectors like we were when
(35:33):
and like I was when I was a kid. So
I love partnering with your son. He's a wonderful man.
You've done a great job. And there's nothing like being
a dad to seeing your kids grow up and being
happy and fulfilled. And that's a great journey for all
of us as parents.
Speaker 13 (35:48):
Tom.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
I remember when I was a kid, we collected baseball cards.
We kept them in shoe boxes, and we played a
game on people's stoops. I think it was called Leaners
or something. Will you in line the cards up against
the wall and throw other cards and knock as many
down as you could. I'm guessing you never played that game.
Speaker 5 (36:07):
So you guys didn't realize that if you damaged the
corner of the cards, the grading service was going to
deduct you a card. You're going to be word. But see,
by the time I was collecting, everything went in a
plastic sleeve, not quite grated like it is now. But
there's it turned into it to a great hobby that
I think speaks to, you know, what a lot of
(36:28):
people are trying to do in their life and creating
these nostalgic memories through collecting and learning about people's biographies.
And I wrote about it this last week. So many
of the benefits of collecting, you know, shine through and
what we're doing these days.
Speaker 7 (36:43):
Yeah, I read it.
Speaker 3 (36:44):
I read your blog and you said I learned about
fractions and percentages and averages and probabilities through trading cards.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (36:53):
I was not.
Speaker 5 (36:54):
I don't tell my kids this. I was not much
of a great student. I told this to my son
this last weekend. She went to Coachella for who happened
to be out there in Palm Springs, And we had
a great time and we were driving back and I said, listen,
like your dad wasn't the best student in the world.
As my daughter just walks in. I I have my
(37:16):
precious little girl that just walked in. She's home from school,
not feeling great. Oh she gets to hang with her
dad today.
Speaker 7 (37:22):
Tom.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
Did you think for a second that we did not
know you were at Coachella with your son Jack.
Speaker 7 (37:28):
I think the world knows you were at Coachella.
Speaker 5 (37:31):
I know we went there. We were we were with
my parents for Easter and it happened to be Coachella
and we were across the street and Travis Scott was there,
and dad's a dad. We gotta go to this, and
I said, I said, Jack, he comes on at eleven
forty five. You know that's through forty five East Coast time.
I'm normally waking up a form to start my day.
How am I going to stay awake? And it didn't
(37:54):
take much. A little two hour nap before the show
in a warm shower, and then we were good to go.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
Well, your boy Jack might be a big fan, but
we saw you dancing around to Travis Scott.
Speaker 5 (38:04):
I know I had a great I'm a huge fan
of his, and he's just he's a very humble guy
and he's worked extremely hard I think he's a very
hard working guy, very creative, and you know, I love
people that that always start trying to do things differently.
And he's he's certainly created his own brand and music,
but also in merchandising. You know, I look at what
(38:27):
he's done with his shoe collection. Man, he's he's He's
a very impressive guy at such a young age.
Speaker 7 (38:32):
I think Justin's wearing the shoes right now in his
duty so he's holding him up in the air. I
like it. Wow.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
So how about your playlist, Like, what do you drive
around listening to during the course of the day.
Speaker 5 (38:46):
You know what, I'm pretty diversified in my music choice.
It's all depends on the mood I'm in. If I'm
working out, it's one thing, it's I If I'm hanging
out in the backyard, it's another. But right now, i'd
see if you on my playlist, wo'd be between Morgan
walland Post Malone, Travis Scott jay Z. Yeah probably you
(39:10):
two still uh that those are probably my five top ones.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
Diversification school as a lot of diversification there.
Speaker 7 (39:17):
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
So you guys got off to an amazing start in
New Jersey. A couple of weeks ago, I think there
were like ten thousand people. There are twenty thousand people.
And I got to ask you, Tom, your arm looked
very nfl Ready.
Speaker 5 (39:33):
Is there a chance, I know, Billy I those days
have come and gone. Unfortunately, I Uh, it's time for
the next generation to do it. And I had people.
I had my Montana Steve, young people I looked up
to in John Elway and Dan Marino, and now it's
(39:54):
time for these young kids to do it. So I
get to I get to view it from a different seat.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
Man, you were throwing sixt seventy yard bombs darts. It
was incredible.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
Well, guys, that's gonna do it for the top five
moments of the week. Thanks for spending this hour with us.
Hopefully the sun starts to peek out, this weather clears up,
especially because we are giving away a car today. All
of our qualifiers are meeting up at McGovern route to
a Hyundai and we are pulling that winner. So good
luck to all of our qualifiers. And on Monday, we're
starting to give away one thousand dollars. That's gonna be
(40:25):
at nine ten. But coming up we have the Kiss
top thirty count down with Billy and Justin. Tons of
new music on there for you, but that's gonna do
it for me. Have a good one, guys,
