Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, everybody, welcome back to the Billy and Lisa Morning Show.
Billy here, Lisa here. I see Anthony is one of
our tech guys across the studio. Even mikey V is
up early and in the studio, and that's because we
have a special guest in studio, Juliana from The Bachelor.
Welcome home.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Thank you so much, thanks for letting me come in
and join you today.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
This is pretty cool. Wors Grant.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Grant is actually on his way from la to Boston
as we speak. Ah, coming for another little visit.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Okay, so you'll be meeting him at the airport.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
I'm guessing I sure will.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Oh isn't that romantic?
Speaker 3 (00:34):
It really is.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
We have so many questions. Okay. First of all, congratulations.
I heard you're the first person from Boston to ever
win The Bachelor.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Hey, if you heard it, it's probably true. I think so.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
There.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
I haven't watched the show for too long, but I
don't know that I can name off the top of
my head anybody from Boston. It's been on it.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
All of our listeners, all of Boston. We were all
rooting for you since from day one.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Oh, absolutely rely. Some of them were a little annoying,
but I'm sure they're all wonderful people. So I said,
welcome home. What's it been like like when you come
home from a national show, a really popular show like
The Bachelor? What's it like when you get home to
the neighborhood and such?
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Well, walking my dog has become different. You know, all
my neighbors see me and they'll come out and say, Hi,
just want to know all the tea, all of the
behind the scenes stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
That's funny. We do too, but it's really.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Like a whirlwind.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
You take a couple of days to just decompress and
get back into you know, your normal headspace, and you
try to just take it day by day honestly.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Now, do you have your own place here or are
you sleeping in your bedroom at your parents' house?
Speaker 2 (01:42):
I have my own apartment in Waltham my roommate.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Yeah, don't give out the address. Gods for that, but it's.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Been nice and I do. I go. It's really close
to Newton, so I go to visit my parents like
every day.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
So when you are grant or out together, do you
constantly get recognized?
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Now?
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Yes, for sure. He's hard to miss. So when we're
together it's like people are very excited to see him,
and then I'm kind of like there with him.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
I'm like, hey, but do you like getting recognized everywhere
you go? I guess that's part of the game, right.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
It's part of the game, for sure. It's taking It
has taken some getting used to. You know, I am
a bit of an awkward person, I think, just like
by nature, I'm kind of shy a bit, so, you know,
but it's been really fun and it's really cool to
see the excitement of people and just kind of feel
like you're connected to them through this weird, strange event.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Now, what are I mean? Obviously we saw your family
at the famous backyard party, yes, which everybody wanted to
be there. It's just your family seems like a very welcoming,
very friendly, very cool family. Absolutely, But what's the family
conversation now that you're home? They must have questions that
they didn't want to ask when they were on TV
(02:57):
and such.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
Yeah, you know, my family, I'm so blessed. My family
really cares about just me and you know, my headspace,
and so every day they're checking in, you know, how's
your head, how's your heart? Like those types of questions,
and you know, I think the priority for them is
that I'm happy and that I feel like good and
what's happening. So, you know, they wanted to know a
(03:19):
little bit more about Grant. They had a couple questions about,
you know, what he does for his day to day job,
like does he how close is he with his family,
like those types of things, and even my dad and
his dad talk a lot, and my mom and his mom.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Talk a lot.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
I talk to his sister Taylor quite a bit. So
it's it's nice, yeah, really good.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I want to ask I want to
ask a question. When you guys were done filming and
you knew that you guys were together, where.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Did you meet up?
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Like how did you keep it a secret? So they
they will let us get together in La every couple
of weeks, and you're really kind of just in a
house hanging out alone. You don't leave, you don't, you know,
have any connection to the outside world. Again, so it's
an unconventional way to, I don't know, stay connected because
(04:13):
personally I prefer just facetiming him every day, waiting till
we can be in the public. But that's kind of
how that goes. You meet up every like two or
three weeks out in LA and just spend like a
weekend together.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Do you arrive separately?
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Oh yes. Now is there a date like wedding plans
or has there been a discussion or is it too early?
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Too early for sure, I think that there's just so
much getting used to in this new normal for us
before we take that next step, because I also really
just want to enjoy it. I don't want I know,
wedding planning can be stressful. I have a big family,
you know, I know everyone wants to know everything all
the time. So we're kind of just putting it on
(04:56):
the back burner for a bit just to really enjoy
each other's company. And we have a couple of good
trips coming up now.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Juliana, if you look directly across from you in the studio,
you'll notice I'm sure you've been wondering, why is there
a young teenage boy sitting in the studio at a microphone?
I'm guessing you probably wondered, right, Yeah, tell me about that.
Riley Dunovan happened to be Lisa Dunovan's son. Yeah, but
(05:21):
here's the story. Since he was nine years old. He
has been a dedicated fan of the show The Bachelor,
so much so that once a week the morning after
the episode, Riley comes on and breaks it all down.
That's correct, so awesome, Riley. Do you have questions for Juliana?
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Yes, I have a lot.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
This is a super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
Yeah, I mean Boston this is crazy, like this is
this is so surreal to have a winner from Boston.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
First of all.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
But first of all, I'd like to say, because I've
been thinking all season, I'm like, you know, from the
first episode, when you know girls start obviously kissing Grant,
It's like, yeah, what is his breath smell? Like? Was
it good, like a wave of heat that like just
like moves over you or is it just is it good?
Speaker 2 (06:08):
It was very good?
Speaker 1 (06:09):
You know.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
I think that the team does a really good job
of also having like mints and likes, so it was
really good. He is good breath.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
Yeah, that's good.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
And let me just write that down. Grant has very
good breath.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
That's good.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
I can relax now.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
That's good. That was my that was my that was
my hot question. So as we went throughout the season,
I noticed like as we got through like more of
the women who like just seemed like less like interest
at the beginning just sort of fell off, and it's
more of like more interest as you get later in
the season. So, like, I know that a lot of
(06:49):
the women were like, oh, I absolutely love this guy
after like three episodes in which is like I'm assuming
like three weeks or so. It's like, what happens to
those women? Are they like are they forced to play
along with the game in reality when they're like, oh,
I can't, I just couldn't see this working.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Yeah, well, you know, I think that there's so many
different ways you could go about this process, right, you'd
want to be true to yourself, but I think ultimately,
you know, you're on the Bachelor, you know there's other
women involved. It's kind of how fast you want to
let your guard down to have that connection with him,
versus what I kind of did was kind of just
(07:26):
was like, yeah, I like him, but like, you know,
I'm not sure I need to spend more time with
him to really get to know him. And I think
some of the girls did that as well, and then
they were like, the minimal amount of time that you
really get to spend with him in the beginning unless
you get one on ones, it's hard to really like
find that true like connection of the possibility of being
in love or engaged at the end of it. So
(07:48):
at some point, I think some of the girls are like, eh,
like this is not for me. I'm not going to
get enough time. I've got to go, and they're just
like kind of playing the game at that point. And
then some girls are like, oh no, I want to
be here till the end. I'm gonna let my guard
down and let him into every aspect of me and
just keep my fingers crossed.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
Well, it is an unusual process, super unusual. So the
moment you felt you loved Grant, yeah, was it hard
to listen to the other remaining women talking about their
relationships with Grant.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
For some reason, it wasn't hard for me because I
think it took me a really long time to even
like acknowledge that within my own head and then verbalize
it to him. But at the same time, I just
always knew, like we are on the Bachelor, there are
other girls like I'm gonna protect myself, And I did
try and like get some information from girls, like where
(08:43):
are you at with him? You know, to help myself out.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
I was so impressed that you stayed out of the drama. Yeah,
was that hard to do?
Speaker 2 (08:52):
You know, there really wasn't too much drama. I really
had such a good experience with a lot of the girls.
Of course, there was the ones situation where I did
my best to like have a non confrontational conversation, and
you know, however it turned and was portrayed like it's
not up to me. But it really wasn't that hard.
(09:12):
I was kind of just really friendly with everybody and
they were really respectful.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
So now we heard Grant is moving here. Yes, it's
that accurate, Yes it is. Have you found a place
yet together or are you looking?
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Or we actually have Mike EV's fabulous wife, Kelsey. She's
going to be helping us out real estate. Yes, yeah, yes,
we've been, Yes, she is, and so we've just been
kind of chit chatting with her. Nothing. We don't have
like a time frame necessarily for it, because we have
so much travel coming up in the next couple of
months that you know, we want to make it make
(09:46):
sense when we like pick a place and are paying
you know.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
Is there an area or town you've got your mind.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
We're really open to anything you know, I would love
to be in the city, but I'm also not opposed
to being outside of the city because that's where I
am now and it's easy to go in and out
for work. So I'm really up for whatever makes the
most sense.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Question about Jesse Palmer, because he's talking about how often
do you see him?
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Really just I just at the ceremony. Yeah, he's he's
really Like.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
I laugh every time because I was watching the finale
and it's like, you know, they'll they'll zoom in on
the last rows and it's like, well, no kidding, Jesse,
it's the final row.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Everybody knows that.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
Everybody knows that.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Yeah, we don't need him.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
It's funny.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
You don't really see him except for the what's gig? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (10:29):
What does he do in his spare time? Is he
like tanning and like the Dominican Republic beach? Is he?
Speaker 2 (10:36):
I actually did run into him at one of the
resorts in the d R and he looked like he
was just having breakfast, like hanging out and good gig. Yeah,
he was living his best life.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Well, Juliana, thank you so much for taking out time
to come on to the Billy and least some morning
show and do give our love to Grant and you
guys are feel free to bring him in. You guys
are welcome on the show anytime.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Thank you, guys.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
Thanks.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
Yeah, yeah, no problem, this is great.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Juliana is Newton, Massachusetts.
