Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm ready whenever you are.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Blue with you.
Speaker 3 (00:07):
That's done it. That was not at all. Let's try
that again. Ready ready when you are.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
I have a problem, Michael, and I am so sorry
that you faced part of it. There is one joy
of being single with no kids, and it's I have
no real responsibilities.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Go.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
This is the slightly messy Show with Mike and Megan.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
State means a message shows messy Mike and Megan.
Speaker 4 (00:42):
It's a slightly messy show with Mike and Megan.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
I mean for now, it isn't for now it is
I mean apparently.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
To do that.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
What is happening?
Speaker 2 (00:58):
This week has been an absolute wild week. We had
a whole part two. We were going to dive into
an update. I don't care. Don't care. You probably have
a lot going on in your life that's very important.
Don't care because now we have to talk about this and.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Talk about what.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
You know what, Megan, I don't know what you're talking about.
You made a decision this week. I'm sure it came far.
You know well before this week that you are no
longer going to be in not only just on the show,
but in radio. You are stepping away from radio by yeah,
but I just.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Turned off my bike and walked away, and that was it.
You just announced it, like you still have.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
I don't know how long you're still going to be
like with the show, or when your last day is
or whatever couple of days, couple of are you in
next week then? Or no, okay, I am I'm off
because I'm on vacation next So this is it. This
is it right here for us. And there's a lot
we got to talk about, Fry. We only have a
(02:01):
limited time, which I get, you get stuff to do,
and then I we have to discuss the like the
future of this, like do I continue and just start
bringing people in. I mean, there was there was stuff
that was happening behind the scenes with this that I
don't know that I can stop this now, but like
what do I do?
Speaker 3 (02:21):
What's the next step. I'll worry about that part later.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
First off, what the fuck?
Speaker 3 (02:28):
What happened? What is going on?
Speaker 1 (02:30):
It happens, I don't know. I just feel like I
was ready for a change of payers. This is the
choice of being single with no kids. I have no
real responsibility baby the baby. And when you're like, hey,
I just want to do something else, you can go well, fcket,
(02:51):
let's go do something else.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
I guess we're doing something else. Then you step away.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
You've decided you're you're you're done, not just not just
like with the show, like just radio out of the industry.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
What fourteen years in?
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Yeah, it was a it was a on the whim
of an angel's wings. Does that even make sense?
Speaker 3 (03:14):
No? But go on.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
It was a whimsical decision. No, I'm not. I'm kidding here.
It was well thought out. Yeah, fourteen years I feel
like I did it. I did what I wanted to do.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
I'm happy could I'm glad you're happy, and that's that's
truly all that matters. I had no idea. Obviously, I
was very very caught off guard. But I am happy
for you. I am very very happy. My wife is
convinced that you are now moving to Grand Rapids and
changing your starting your new life over here. I had
(03:45):
to tell her yesterday that.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
You have moved.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Just farther away.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Just really, yeah, do you have is?
Speaker 2 (03:52):
I don't know what you can't Obviously, if you don't
want to talk about something, just tell me. I don't
want to talk about it yet. I don't know what
you can or have or where even to talk about.
Do you have a next step? Like, what is the
next step? Do you have something planned right now?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
I have an end goal, but this is not the
next snap, Like the end goal is to start a
bakery one day.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
I think that's like the dream. Okay, which is not
shocking if you know me.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Yeah, it seems like you've been baking.
Speaker 5 (04:16):
I don't know if this is the economy to started in,
so we're gonna put that on.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Pause for now. I don't I truly don't know.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
I oh so again I found out through a text
in d MS. Are you that's it's your life, it's
your Yeah, yeah, it's okay. But so I don't know
the answers to any of these questions.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
But I said, you are a number one. Yeah, I
just use that finger.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
What do you do you have like something lined up?
Are you going somewhere or you just.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
I have a couple of things I'm struggling between. I
haven't decided on anything yet, so I have a couple
of different options. I'm weighing them all out right now.
So it's it's not like the biggest leap into the void.
But it's also not like.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
We'll figure it out.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
I've been told people just telling me stuff and TikTok
lives is how I of things have been said to me.
I've heard you doing an office job. Yes, oh okay, well.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Like I don't know, but like, yeah, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Real estate agent? Are you going to sell you?
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Oh my god, I wish. I don't think I would
be good at that at all, but I would love it.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Okay, okay, but an office job?
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Have you?
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Have you mentioned what it was or you just that's
what you want?
Speaker 1 (05:35):
No, I just want adush job, Like I just want
a nine to five, you know what I mean? Like,
I just and that's what I said on the air,
is like I'm looking for a desk job, Like I
just want something where I can clock in and then
most importantly clock out.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
Ah.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Yes, because this job does does require a lot of
all the time. Yeah, all the time, all day, every day.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Yeah, I get it.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
So when I thought I wanted adush job, it was like,
I just want something that's a job. I'm not my life,
you know. And I'm so happy. I'm so grateful for
this job. This has been the best experience in my life, truly,
I feel like people think there's more to it than that,
like I'm so happy, but I'm just like I'm I'm
ready for a different lifestyle. I'm ready for a different
(06:20):
I don't know, just something different.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Yeah, I get it, I get it. Has this been
have you?
Speaker 2 (06:25):
I'm assuming you thought about this for months or is
this something that just came up recently You're like, I'm
gonna do it.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
I think that it's been contemplated for a long time.
There are ups and downs in our careers, and I
think every once in a while you're like, oh, maybe
this is the time, or maybe this is the time,
or no, I'm going to keep working towards this. And
I just thought I did what I wanted to do,
I'm good, and then was ready to figure it out
and do something different, you know, like it's not it
(06:53):
wasn't the end of the world. It wasn't the biggest
thing for me. I don't know. I almost feel like
it sounds weird, and I've been trying to find another comparison.
I can't find another comparison. I think a lot of
times people think, well, you stay in your job or
your career, like your whole life and our careers are
very weird and like there is a time limit on
(07:15):
our careers.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
They're like, you.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Don't see somebody who's seventy five doing what we're doing,
Like if you're working till retirement age, it's not doing
what we're doing. So it was fun to just be
like cool, I did what I wanted to do, and
I'm I mean, this isn't gonna last forever, so why
don't I just do the next thing. Well, I'm happy
with what I did.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Yeah, Yeah, that's a good point. That's a good point.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
There are I do notice there are people in the
industry for a longer amount of time than used to be.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
I think I think some people have to change.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
You have to either change what you're doing so you
can't do You're right, you can't do what you're doing
now forever, or you just walk away. And I think
that's a smart choice. I mean, especially if you have
the ability to.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Yeah, and back in the day, like when I first
started reading, you know, people my age were being transitioned
off of the top forty stations onto like the oldies
listen at workstation, Like I was at the end of
the age limit for what we do now and obviously,
like you said, that's not the case anymore, but like
that's always kind of in the mindset, is like one
a time limit.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Yeah, like this doesn't last forever.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
That's not my man mentality and radio since day one
is this is not gonna last for ever.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Yeah, that's that's understandable. That's understandable. Yeah, I get it,
I get it. I was surprised still. I was surprised
still because I figured you'd be at least there till
till you know, I don't know if that Mojo's ever
gonna be done, but until Mojo was done and then
then go from there, I was.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
I was very surprised.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Yeah, I think that part of it is sad. That
part of it is definitely sad, but I'm hoping that,
like I have such and I mean this in the
best way. I don't mean this disrespectful, because I know
somebody's gonna say this is disrespectful, but like I'm in
such a happy place with this, and like I'm so
like good, Like I hope everybody else is too, and
(09:05):
like when the time comes to celebrate him and his achievements,
and I hope I'm around for that, and I hope
that I get to congratulate and stuff like that, but
like that, that's the saddest part, for sure. For absolutely,
that's the saddest part.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Did he try because I'm only seeing obviously now what
was posted and stuff like that, did he try to
stop you at any point?
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Was he like, yeah, you can't, you can't do that.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
At any point? Oh my god? Yes, multiple times, over
and over and over and over and over and over,
and even when we did the announcement on air over
a good Yeah. He's been really nice through out the
whole process. I've been very lucky with how nice and
gracious He's been. Lots of conversations, lots of are you sures,
(09:52):
lots of this and the other thing. And I think
everybody is a little disappointed that I am sure, But
to me, that just says like I was joking. I
made this decision on a whay at the very beginning
of this podcast.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Yeah, I've thought about it.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
Yeah, yeah, but it's all good.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
I'm gonna miss you, I truly, truly, and I know
I've said it a million times on this podcast. Love
the time that we spend together. And this makes me
very sad.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Same and I it's you know obviously you're not You're
you're moving back to Toledo.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
You're not leaving the country. You're not leaving the states.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Don't ever a text or call again.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
If my number is blocked out, no to just just
do not bother.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
But you're not going anywhere.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
Your number won't be blocked.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
You know whose number won't be my way?
Speaker 5 (10:41):
Right?
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Honestly, Mike, I don't think you can get rid of me.
I am so emotionally attached to your wife that you're
stuck with me.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
So she's so told like I haven't I have to
play it telling her because like she doesn't follow everything fully.
So I'm like, if I don't tell her, like she'll
figure it out eventually. It will have a conversation Like
we're going there in uh middle of May for the
podcasting or whatever. So I'm like, we'd obviously have to
have the conversation at that point. But at least I
(11:12):
could I could give it a buffer. I could, I
could have a conversation that leads into another conversation. But
now she was convinced, Oh, she's moving to Grand Rapids,
so she's starting her new life here. There's so much
opportunity for her to do things here.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Do you have an extra bedroom?
Speaker 3 (11:26):
I have a camper. I have a camper you could
sleep in.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
Does it have an oven?
Speaker 3 (11:31):
It does? Yeah, I'll take it.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
What I heard was Megan, please move in and let
me tell you I fucking hate moving?
Speaker 3 (11:40):
Oh yeah yeah? How like how hard is that for?
Speaker 4 (11:43):
Like?
Speaker 3 (11:43):
You must have done that in like a month? Right,
we tell you?
Speaker 1 (11:47):
It has been a warl wind in my life. Getting
at all of my ducks in a row has been
an insane process of I think, I will, I think
I will, I think this might work. I think this
might work. I think maybe mm hm okay, and don't spread,
go go, go get anything done. So you're like that unprepared.
(12:08):
It wasn't like I didn't think about this or no,
it was coming. But like once you made the decisions
and get the ball rolling, it's like, run, bitch, run,
get it done.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Is it hard to move out of the city?
Speaker 4 (12:18):
Like?
Speaker 3 (12:19):
Is it? Like? It seems like it would be challenge?
Speaker 1 (12:21):
What me tell you? It's insane?
Speaker 3 (12:25):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (12:25):
I have given up me and my little wagon, filling
up my car every day and drive you back and forth.
I started walking in the streets of Detroit. I don't
look at like I don't care. Hit me, hit me,
take me out of my misery. I'm so sick of
doing this. I am so sick of it all. I
will say I got the biggest U haul in the
(12:46):
tiniest alley of my entire life without hitting anything. I
felt like God. I was like, you cannot, okay, Can
I tell you I would be a truck driver in
a heartbeat.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
I joke.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Kingley looked into it and was like, damn, they made
a lot of money. I did not realize how much
truck drivers make, and I was like, bro, I didn't
know I would become a truck driver. I looked into
CDC or CDL schools.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
It's not a bad gig. It's not a bad gig.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Like you just drive around all day every day, like
sit in the car, listen to music, listen to whatever podcast,
whatever you want to do, and then obviously you have
important things that you do too, but like for the money, Like,
it's not a bad gig.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Bruh, just sitting there with some headphones on listening to
podcasts and music. I could fucking do it, I have
told And then think of it this way. You have
to pull over and sleep for X amount of time.
Go be a lot lizard on the side.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
That's how this whole thing started. You remember that was
like week one. It's like full circle. It's like a
full circle conversation.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
Uh, dream come true. Yeah, I had no idea that
somebody just posted their salary as a truck driver and
I would I mean, that's so many years of work
for me. Oh, I might tuck it. Maybe I'm right,
do it?
Speaker 2 (14:16):
Did you when you said he moved back to Toledo,
So did you move back in with like your brother
or did you get your own place? No?
Speaker 1 (14:23):
I couldn't afford to break my lease. Oh jeez, give
you the truth, the true story. I am very, very
lucky that the place that I have my lease with
they have buildings in Toledo, and so I was able
to just move to a different building.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
Oh that's great, very lucky.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
I'm very lucky.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
Yeah, all right, So we got about three minutes left.
This is the last one I remember. Let's go back
to the beginning. I remember sitting down at a table
with you, Mojo, and I think it was at Tommy's
Piece of Carrot Cake. I was overwhelmed in that era.
It was my overwhelmed era, and he goes, you should
you you know we're when we're talking about doing the podcast.
(15:04):
I sit down with you and I'm like, do you
want to do it? And you go, yeah, you want
to do it? I said yeah, but I was like
I had so much going on that my eyes looked
like this.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
You're like, are you Are you okay? Are you sure?
Are you sure? And I'm like, yeah, yeah, let's do it.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Fast forward to what two years almost two years later,
and this is it. This is the last one. I'm
very excited for you. I'm very happy for you. I
would never in a million years try to tell you
that you're breaking up this podcast. Oh you know what,
you're killing the dream.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
But right I realized that I can't do this anymore.
Speaker 5 (15:40):
Well, we'll say, if this is a thing that would
kill you, Mosha would absolutely kill you.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Change my bod. Guys, the podcast is done.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
I didn't know we joke a lot. Oh my god,
I know we joke a lot. I love you so much.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
I love you too.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
You mean in the world to me. I know that
we are going to be friends for forever. Yes, but
I say it all the time. I enjoy I enjoy this.
I really love you. I really really love your wife,
and your kids are pretty great too.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
You don't have to say it like that and the
second one, but okay, this breaks my heart.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Can I give you my nominations for people I want
you to do this with in the future.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (16:24):
Yeah? Do you think I should still do it?
Speaker 2 (16:25):
I feel like I've got to continue it for a
little bit anyways, right, Well, there's things attached to it now,
so I think I have to. Yeah, I think I
have to, But I don't know what I'm gonna I
don't know what I'm gonna do. I mean, I can
record it here like not the nerd out. I can
record it here and upload it myself, but I don't
have anybody, Like It's not like I'm like, oh, yeah,
let's bring people in, but gohe yeah, what are your nominations?
Speaker 3 (16:47):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (16:47):
I think you should start bringing in all of the
women around there that are better than me. So I like,
obviously you have to do your wife ally.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
You have to.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Yeah, yeah, then you probably have to do Ali from
your show.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
I think she's got I mean, she's got podcasts.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
For an episode you want to hit her.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Yeah, that's a good point. That's a good point. Do that.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
You got to bring Smanny in? Yeah, because then what
but you gotta do Smindy last, because once you do
the episode with SMI everybody's gonna say, why didn't you
just do this from the beginning?
Speaker 3 (17:16):
I doubt it.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
I need you, I need you to do that. Just
do me the respect of saving her for last time. God,
you love me, You'll do that.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
And then and then maybe you should bring in like
who else should we do? Oh? You should force Shannon
to do one Murphy?
Speaker 3 (17:38):
Yeah, no, the other Shannon. We know Shannon slau.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Sharp too soon?
Speaker 2 (17:48):
No?
Speaker 3 (17:48):
Not all right?
Speaker 1 (17:51):
Well, well how do we say goodbye? That is the
perfect number one way to say good bye? And this
is how I know you love me because you're telling
me your number one and you're my number one.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
We'll talk soon. But as far as podcast goes, is
it it's.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
A slightly missy show.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
Pathetic, absolutely pathetic. Love the show. You guys are doing
a great job with Mike and Megan.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
If I had some prep time, I would have had
a million of those ready to go, like, hey, Megan's
leave it.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
No messy show. Everything you need to know.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
It's Megan's mess Remember that number one did Instagram at
one point.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
Follow the Slightly Messy Show one I g at Slightly

Speaker 1 (18:41):

Speaker 3 (18:46):
It was just a lot extra. There's a lot of extra.
There's a lot of extras and what is it cancer?
Speaker 4 (18:51):
We have no idea what that says about them, but
we're sure it's not good. It's a Slightly Missy Show
