here are the three things you need to know to
get your Tuesday, April twenty seconds started. It's start testing today.
We just had Natalie on. Natalie's a senior, she took
it last year and she's like, just stay calm, you
can do it.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Don't get in your own head exactly. I loved her
calm anyway.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
HISD speaking of schools and testing, well, they're going to
be testing their new updated transportation department that they're going
to unveil next school year. The first goal is to
provide reliable, safe, efficient transportation. Second goal be good stewards
of taxpayer dollars. One hundred and twenty five positions will

be closed at the end of this year, but one
hundred and fifty five positions are opening up well. The
Vatican has released the cause of Pope Francis death early Monday.
It was a stroke and the funeral will be held
on Saturday. Flags are being flown at half staff around
the world and here in Houston.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
He was eighty eight years old. Public viewing will begin tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
In Saint Peter's Basilica.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
And today is Earth Day and Earth Day Eve.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Yesterday we had some crazy weather power outages around town yesterday,
majority our friends in Pasadena because of the morning storms.
About twenty thousand people lost power. It's all calm now though,
and we do have a rainy afternoon. We're gonna have
some showers throughout the day to day about a sixty
percent chance, and then more rain tomorrow. Today we go
(01:35):
up to eighty four right now, it's seventy in uptown
and Europe to day on Sunday. Tell me something good
brought to us by our friends at Goodwill Houston. Well
ATB is celebrating Earth Day in a big way today.
They are going to be giving out two hundred and
seventy four thousand reusable bags. It starts at eight this
morning at all HB and Central Market stores while supplies last.
(01:57):
And this year they're featuring a design and fired by
Galveston Island State Park. This is all part of a
three year series showcasing scenic Texas locations. Oh you can
also buy them for a buck fifty and as an
added surprise, one customer at each store is going to
be picked to receive an annual Texas State Park's annual pass.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
How about that.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
That's cool, cool thing, and they're not done. To further
celebrate Earth Day, between March fourth and April fourth, seven
hundred and ninety two schools across Texas participated in hb's
annual School Plastic Bag Recycling Challenge. They recycled six point
seven million plastic bags. That's a lot, and locally Robertson
(02:40):
Elementary and Memorial Parkway Junior High School. They were among
the winners of these schools all across Texas. So congratulations
producer Anthony Dane.
Speaker 3 (02:50):

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Found out earlier this morning at six forty sixty seven
percent of guy say wearing a suit makes them feel
more confident. We're you.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
I was kind of surprised.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
I thought it would be more of a constraint, but no,
you guys like it. And we've got a guy on
the line, Channing calling in from Pearland. Now you are
a senior in high school.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Well, are you guys doing star testing today?
Speaker 4 (04:17):
No, because we took our last star test junior year.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Got god, gotcha, very good suit. Let's talk about you
and suits. How do you feel about suits?
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Being a high school student, maybe you're in some kind
of a club where you have to wear a suit.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
I actually love wearing suits.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
I do.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
I do. I'm in this club called Ducca, which is
kind of like a business club, and so we were
allows for that. But also I do inchoir, so for
a lot of our concerts we end up wearing suits
and that's fun.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Oh look at you.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
So how do you rock your suit? Is there a
particular brand that you like? A colorless style?
Speaker 4 (04:56):
I'm a very three pieces person, like I love a
good a dress shirt best, and then a jacket.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
And what kind of ties when you're wearing your suits?
Are you striped? You know? It's something really crazy, artistic,
more conservative.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
It depends on the event.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
But if I'm just like, if it's completely up to me,
then I'm a very like kind of abstract tie kind
of person. And I always tied. It's my favorite.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Not that Oh people don't know how to tie a
tie right, and Channing does Channing that is amazing. So
what do you plan to do when you're out of school,
what are your dreams?
Speaker 4 (05:33):
Oh, I'm actually going to ut to get a degree
in active in acted.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Wow, that's awesome.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
I would think that you'd be more kind of like
the artistic, so you wouldn't be constrained by a suit,
but yet you love it.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Does it give you confidence?
Speaker 3 (05:49):
It does?
Speaker 4 (05:50):
And I just I feel like I feel like I
can really do anything what I'm wearing suit?
Speaker 1 (05:54):
That maz what the survey said and Channing is living true.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Channing, Well, thank you for sharing your wisdom. And when
you're done with school, do you have a job lined
up for this summer? Like are you going to do
an internship or what not?
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Just yet?
Speaker 1 (06:12):
And are you in any shows currently? Are you in
any theater at school? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I am.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Well, right now is a competition season, so we're doing
our competition play and there's six the last round being
State and this Saturday we're going to five six. So
that's really exciting.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
Oh loll you what the best of luck to you?
And how did you find Sonny?
Speaker 4 (06:36):
Me and my friend we actually listen like every morning
in the car and we try to say if we
can answer the question, and it's.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Really fun morning. What's your friend's name, Amber.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Well, you let Amber know that we love her too,
and we love you, and thank you so much for listening.
