variety of the eighties nineties and today we're talking about
outdoor chores during this time of the year, and one
of them we learned in our Nearly Impossible Question. We
really enjoy it, and it is mowing the grass. I

(04:54):
love it so much. Anthony likes it periodically, doesn't like
to do it in the heat.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
I'm all about doing in the heat.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
I feel like it's excellent exercise, good source of vitamin
D and your skin will glisten when you're.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
All said, yeah, I will.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
And we have got Kyle calling in from Houston. Kyle, Now,
what's mowing for you?

Speaker 4 (05:12):
So I own a landscaping company.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Ah, okay, here we go.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Kyle owns a landscaping company. Now, Kyle, you do this
for a living because you love it or because it
makes you good money.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
Both, you know. I started when I was six years old.
I loved mowing the grass. I love the way it smells.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Yes, yeah, that's true. That's a great point. Fresh cut grass, Oh.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Fresh cut grass. Yeah, I absolutely loved it. I was
that kid on the weekends that was mowing grass.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
And then you have to go find a neighbor who
needs their grass mode right, absolutely. Yeah. And so at
six years old you start mowing, you get your allowance.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
You're getting money from the neighbors. When did you start
your own company when you were fifteen?

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Oh? Yeah. That's what got me through high school and
some in college and then I was like, hey, I
think I can make a career out of this.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Wowchday. So what does your landscaping company do? What are
your specialties?

Speaker 4 (06:03):
So we're residential, we mainly focus. We actually do design, installation,
and we do full scale maintenance.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Wowday.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
What part of town are you?

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Pretty much? Houston proper?

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Uh huh. What is the name of your landscaping company?

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Grow and Company?

Speaker 2 (06:18):

Speaker 1 (06:20):
And how do you get your employees, Like what do
they have to do to be come working?

Speaker 2 (06:24):
With Kyle.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
Oh my goodness. So it's a lot of word of
mouth and a lot of our team members who are
excellent at what they do. They're they're definitely like craftsmen.
We just lean on them to bring in people they know,
and uh, we have some great people.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Oh Kyle, that is ky.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Started out as a childhood passion and now you're able
to make a living to be Do you have kids

trying to get them into it.

why not. I mean I love yard work and I
think gardening is a huge hobby for people and grass
and maintaining your grass and edging and putting out the
flower beds. I bet your daughters would be great assets
to you, Dad, give you a whole different perspective, right absolutely.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
And it's never they're never too young to start because
you just plant the feet in the ground and it
really that's what got me into it too.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
That's so cool. I love that story.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
That's excellent, Kyle. Thank you so much for sharing. And
how do you fare in the Houston heat?

Speaker 4 (07:32):
Oh? Yeah, well I'll tell you and I tell a
lot of our clients. Irrigation is not a supplement for
ring off, so landscaping is always going to struggle in
the heat of the summer.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
I always recommend water less frequently, but water deeper.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Okay, advice excellent, super great. And what about the three
o'clock in the morning watering? Am I right on that
or is that a myth?
