Speaker 1 (00:01):
Sunday ninety nine point one Houston's Best Variety of the
eighties nineties and today I'm Dana with producer Anthony and
here are the three things you need to know to
get your feel good. Friday, June sixth started well. The
city passed at seven billion dollar budget. After all of
those protests, we are finding out that the council members
say that this budget's going to help address some very
important things to us, like streets and drainage. Couldn't come
(00:25):
at a better time as a bridge on Canal Street
in the East End flooded after some rainfall earlier this
week and a car was literally underwater. The driver had
to get out and safely was able to evacuate. Also,
on the budget, it's going to boost first responders pay.
It is going to cut some city services, but HPD
becomes the highest paid police department in the state. And
(00:48):
the Red Raiders forced Game three in the Texas Texas
Tech Softball Finals in Oklahoma. Listen to this. Here's the
O two Levers and E Bays the championship series at
Wargable Pace Show, beating Texas Hi quarter to three. They
(01:10):
play the third game today and the Astros beat Pittsburgh
last night eight to two Cleveland. They begin a series
with tonight and you can hear it on Sports Talk
seven ninety weather. It's gonna be dry warm today right
through the weekend. We're going up to ninety four. Right now,
it's seventy eight in Uptown and eure up to date
on Sunday ninety nine point one, tell me something good
(01:34):
brought to us by our friends at Goodwill Houston. So
restaurant closures, but there's one that's actually expanding some good
news for you on this feel good Friday. It's a
Garden Oaks eatery Diaba Craft Kitchen and Cocktails. It's opening
its second location in Magnolia, bringing their balloon Bread north.
It's gonna be at thirty two eight, twenty three FM,
(01:57):
twenty nine seventy eight. It's gonna be opening in Setember
and it's got a less formal atmosphere, lower prices to
perfect for young families that are flocking to Magnolia. And
by the way, the balloon Bread is an airy baked
peda with basil pesto and truffle honey.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Holy cow, that sounds amazing, yes, please.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
So congratulations to you at Magnolia. There's a new restaurant
coming to town Dialba Craft Kitchen and Cocktails for new
Sir Anthony Dan.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
This is so sweet. I've seen people on our neighbor
page talk about this recently. It's called pet hospice, a
newer emerging part of vet medicine and Doctor Erica with
Loo Pearl Pet Hospices that some bets are gonna have
a diagnosis where the quality of life isn't good, but
we can manage that with changes to their treatment plan,
environmental modifications in the house, and then we can potentially
increase the amount of quality time we still have left.
And with this kind of care, they can be home
(02:52):
where the pet's already most comfortable. Doctor Erica sites a
recent example where they were able to actually add nine
more months of joy to a dog named Mr Fee,
all thanks to amazing hospice care. They even have a
hospice Comfort team that helps pet owners through the process.
They help counsel people on the steps and it really
can change the world for some people. So something to
consider for our fur babies when those times come, keep
them home, keep them comfortable, and potentially even have more
(03:14):
time before they cross the rainbow. Bridge consider doing pet
hospice care.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
That is amazing. Wow. Okay, Friday is always pizza Night
at the Tyson Household. We have so many amazing pizza
places here in the Houston area, all across Texas, but
New York thinks they can compete. So there is a
pizza eatery that started in Queens, New York, back in
nineteen sixty seven. It's now a franchise. It's called Singas.
(03:40):
It's going to be expanding to Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas.
And it's pizza with kind of a Greek twist because
the owners they actually took over from mister Singas. The
newer owners are from They're born in Greece, Greg Sannis
and so they'll bring that Greek twist to their pizza.
(04:01):
People are loving it. It's coming soon to Cypress Creek
Parkway and the Katie Dang.
