Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time for Chilicoffee High School basketball action on the
home of the Caps fourteen ninety wv e X powered
by Where Funeral Home, aDNA Health System and Hower Funeral Home.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Good evening, everyone, and welcome to Chilicopee High School here
in the LLSV Hatt Memorial Gymnasium. Shane Holmes, Greg Bigham,
same court side at the newly named Thomas and Cup
of Court and tonight when you're listening to Chili Coopee
Boys basketball on fourteen ninety wv X on the AM side,
ninety two point seven on the FN side, and worldwide on.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
iHeart and Greg to night.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Chilicopy a chance to bounce right back from a tough
loss last night as they welcomed Greenup County from Kentucky,
and we talked a lot about it on the air
last night. With the heartbreaking loss, had a chance to
give Miami Tracey's first loss the of the year, come
up two point shy. The good thing about a Friday
Saturday is you don't have to sit on that. Come
right back out here on your home court and try
(00:59):
to get one. I talk talking to me a little
bit about the Cabs and what.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
They need to do to bounce by.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
Well, I agree with you. That was gonna be my
first answer. I guess to try to think of the
positive side is you.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Don't have to.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
It doesn't stick in your craw for very long. You're right,
you got to get ready to go again. I think
one of the things I'm interested to see how much
Pat he doesn't have a lot of bench, maybe seven deep,
maybe eight with Nolan that are playing a little bit
of sophomore who played a couple of course jds, but
we'll see.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
I think mentally it was tough on him.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
I think physically that was a tough court ninety foot
game last night, down to the wire against Miami Trace.
They gave it everything they had, so I you know,
I guess they're not.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
As old as you, and I'm a lot older than you.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
But these guys are only what sixteen or seventeen, some
of them are fourteen or fifteen, So they'll bounce back.
But I'm interesting to see what it takes and maybe
something good, hit a couple of threes, break away, a dunk,
something like that to really kind of get that adrenaline flowing.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
It would really help.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Well, well, look, Greg, I know sometime I'm accused of
being a last half full and try to be optimistic
and so forth. But the thing of it is is
when I evaluate the Shilkoffee team, I know the record
says four and eight, but I see a positive point differential,
like just a little bit. Believe it or not, that's
unheard of, But a lot of that comes down to
they've played a really tough schedule. But in playing that
(02:20):
tough schedule, it's not like they're getting beat by fifteen
twenty points to night. This is a team that's been
right there. The Miami Trace loss, they lose in the
final seconds. You called a great game with Jackson. They
losing the final seconds, we called a.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
Game together at war and they losing double overtime, could
have easily won that game in regulation.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
So long story short, you are what your.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Record says you are, but things are trending in a
positive direction. And I said last night, and I love
what you said about getting.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Off to a good start, and let's talk about that
a little bit and the execution.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
And in some of the different things.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
What is it You think it's on the defensive end,
you think it's offensively, What.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Are some keys in the execution? Maybe a certain player
you'd like to see get go one. It's maybe not
enough to where we think they are here in recent
what's some of the things you think Coach Beard's looking
at here and nearly going.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
But I think, you know, one of the things I
talked about not having as much as depth and all that,
but it kind of solidifies the fact that those first
six are going to play all the time and they've
almost come to accept and know what their roles are.
I think that's been a positive on any given night
the last couple of games we've had, and certainly last
night Cooper Stone Kings had the hot hand, and they
(03:32):
recognize that. They know that the strength of Caden Cox
is getting it to the hole. Think he was in
double figures last night. Jan Miller stepped up, he let
him in scoring against Jackson. He turned around last night
and had a big bucket late in the game, I think.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
To tie it.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
So, you know, I think the positive is I don't
think they have to depend on one guy. They've got
four or five guys that can do it on any
given night. You know, when somebody has seventeen and a
couple others have eleven and twelve of any team, like
I think Coach Beard would love that, and uh but
I think they got to continue to know kind of
(04:06):
no one to hold him, no one to fold them
kind of thing is if you got that they're a
fast team, but no one to take it to the whole,
no one to pull it back and run a little
bit of offense. And I think they've gotten better at that.
If they could do it thirty two minutes. And that's
a lot to ask. You've seen a lot of basketball
teams this year. That's a lot to ask of it
unless you've got it back. Five seniors that have played
for three years. But so uh you know, I think
(04:27):
sometimes I forget they're still a young team because they've
played so much basketball. I don't think Coach Beard used
that as excuse anymore. You know, Cooper's started for three years,
Kden two years, Hamm and sophomore his second year playing.
Although I think Andrew's role has changed a bit and
he's almost had to become a big man.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
But uh, yeah, I like the way they've played. I
think they play hard.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
I think sometimes if you ask me one thing, and
I think it's hard to do. Sometimes they're quick, take
the ball to the bucket. No, you might want to
stop from ten feet and get that jumper rather than
trying to force it inside. I thought they got some
breaks last night by taking it all away and getting
to the line because they called a foul Miami trace,
you know. But they also late in the game, got
(05:14):
to know when Guthrie's in there. So I don't see green,
but do have a couple of big kids. But I
think that's just part of experience, uh, knowing what's a
good shot when I'm gonna take it all the way. Yeah,
these guys are so much more athletic and than when
I was around. I think when I played, I can't
sometimes I can't identify because they're so athletic. They know
they can jump and almost do anything. But I would
(05:37):
like to see a couple, you know, a couple of times,
especially maybe Caden.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
He's so good.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Caden is so good at stopping and getting up in
the air from ten twelve feet.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
I think that's as good as.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
Him going all the way to the buckets. You know,
if he's got a step by all means he's so athletic.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
But we'll see. I think a few little things like that.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
Uh, they just got to win one in the end,
they just keep losing, but two points in the end,
you know, I don't know if that what does that
Shane experience getting a break?
Speaker 3 (06:02):
What it is? Well, you start to win one, it
becomes contagious.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
You're exactly right, you know, and you look, they're gonna
get plenty of opportunity here tonight, back on their home
court Tuesday night, Central crossing the makeup game at Hillsborough
on Wednesday night, and then next weekend another pair of
home games is Washington Courthouse comes falling in fac play
on Friday, New Albany on Saturday. And again we'll have
all of that action for you all the way through

here on WBX. Let's step away for a quick time.
I will come back and continue our free game. It's
just Shane Holmes and Great vigamf. You're listening to Chili

Welcome back to Chilicopi High School. Shank Holmes and Drake Vig.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
I'm coming up on about the three minute mark here
in the pregame, and Greg before we get to the
night's opponent of green Up County from Kentucky. One other
point that's come to my mind as you're talking about
the big stretch of games coming up here. You know,
Victor Hitchins on the perimeter, no one net are in
the post. If you're looking, maybe even some increased minutes
(08:06):
for six man Carte Liggan. But but I feel like
those three athletes are probably going to play a real,
real uh chi role, not necessarily huge minutes, but a
really important role. Uh if Chilicothy's really going to find
a rhythm here?
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Do you do? You agree? Yeah? And I and we've talked.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
I think I think I think Carte has found I
think Carte is comfortable in the game now.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
Uh. You know he uh and he he.
Speaker 4 (08:32):
Played in a lot of key spots because he was
the sixth man. But you've talked a lot about it,
and we kind of sat here, especially during JV. I
think Noah Netta has taken those steps. Uh and uh
what he was six ' six uh, and he he
just seems to get a little more comfortable. I know
a couple of games ago he came in and scored,
made two free throws.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Uh. He's gotten a couple of points when he's come in.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
And what it does is when Carte has reached that point,
and now I think Noah can go in the game,
and and you he goes in the game, and you're hoping, Okay,
you know, he's young, he's not experienced. I hope he
doesn't get exploited or getting nervous.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Well, I think that's over now. You can tell he
kind of fits in the game.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
He's not necessarily gonna look when you're young like at
and you haven't played much, you're not gonna look to
shoot as much or do. But uh, just his his
length and his size, and yeah, I think Carton Lac
and knowing Netter Hitchins, Vic's not gonna look maybe to
shoot much, but.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
He's gonna help you defensively.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
He's quick and in this stretch of games and playing
so many games, absolutely they're gonna have to play a role.
You can't five guys can't play every night. That's not
the NBA, right, I agree. And you know, as we'll
come up on a minute here.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Uh you know the Knight's opponent, green Att County from
Kentucky comes in with a record under five hundred. Don't
know a lot about him, certainly, Uh to Night's more
about Hilataffie, in my opinion, just making sure that they
are able to bounce back from last night and get one.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
So we'll come up on a minute.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
We'll step away one more time, Greg and I'll be

Welcome back to Chilicotie High School.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Shank Holmes, Craig Big I'm coming up here on the
player introduction and Greg student.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
From Chili there on the national anthem and night. I
didn't catch young ladies name. I want to say lst
name might sound like Hartley. I apologize why about it,
But I was outstanding.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Yeah, one of the cheerleaders and uh from Yeah, I.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
One thing in the area.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
I don't even if the if one hundred and fifty
thousand people singing. Actually I just murmur because I am
so I cannot sing. You know, I'm the one who
was a music class and the music teacher had me
turn the page because she didn't want to hear my voice.
I admire anyone to con sit there and singing now,
so anthem like that.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
But yeah, she did a tremendous job. You taking a
look at the starting lineups, I take it you're not
a singer.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
No, no, I love music. I just I just you know,
the music doesn't love looking here at the starting lineups.
The night the Musketeers from green Up County, Kentucky, they'll
run them out with Casey Gammon, a junior, Land Breed Lewis,
a sophomore, Hunter Holbrook, a sophomore, Graded Meadows of sophomore,
(13:56):
and Bradley ATMs a junior again Gammon, Lewis, whole Brooks,
Meadows and Atkins again all underclassmen there for the Musketeers
for Chili Coopee Coach Beard'll let him out with his
five to ten senior point guard Jan Miller. He'll be
joined in the three guards set with six free sophomore
Caden Cox and six.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
Two junior Cooper stone King, and then a pair.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Of forwards, sixty four sophomore Andrew Hammond and six free
senior Cam Badger.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
One more time for the Cavaliers. It's Miller Cox.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
And Stone King in the back court with him and
a bager down low lights go off with the spotlight
here on the Chilipig team bench as they introduced the
starting lineup.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
It's nice student section here again tonight. Pretty good atmosphere
for a Saturday night.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Back to back. Have a lot going on here tonight.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Greg, They've had the cheerleading camp today and some of
the cheerleaders did a routine with the high school cheerleaders,
and then we watched the third and fourth grade little
cast play at half time. I believe we'll have another
older Grie coming out here if this happens, so it
should be a festive night, hopefully a winning night for
the Cavaliers. Let's see if we can get it back
in the win column. Is it looks like we're about
ready for John Jilicafie and their home whites with the
(15:11):
blue numbers greenom County and the all gold yellow type
of uniform with the green numbers, or mind me and Marquette.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
Yeah, there'll be.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Cos versus actions to get us started ball up and
the ball tipped over the Stone King well and I
think the cash just got it the waves over and
back us. They'll take the opening possession as Miller's got
it right up on the little jump circle.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
It'll be a zone, didn't one two two shame? Yeah,
it looks like a yeah stretch.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
They're going to bring LeBrock out out top and they
get the hands wide and really try to stretch it out.
Coach Beard mentioned this last night. He kind of expected zone.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
So I'm like in I'm liking Andrew Hammond the night
to break loose, especially against the one two two.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Maybe you can get opened in the corner.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Stone team will take a left wing three no good
Cocks with the offensive rebound, he powers it by a
cup shot.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
No good fighting for the loose ball, about.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Five or six bodies flying on the floor, and eventually
we're gonna have a tie up here and a jump ball.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Great effort on both sides.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
And of course, with Chillicothe get in the opening tip,
the ball's gonna go over to the Musketeers. Just forty
five seconds in no score, Chilcaife will pick up and
only a little bit of a token pressure.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Let's see what they do with it. It looks like.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
We maybe we have a little quickness advantage. But again,
having played last night and only six deep, I think
you get the nail on the head. I think sometimes
here we're going to have to get some help from
off the.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
Bench to be able, especially if we're going to pressure defense.
A little bit of a hold up. Now it seems
ready to go.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
I think the official will have them trolly his whistle.
Green Up will have it the full.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Length of the floor.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
And how Chilikafee back out of that pressure because Holbrick
brings it up from across the timeline dribbling tree to
the left now hands it off the gammon. He goes
hard to the right into the middle. Good help defense
from Chili Coffee. Now Landry on the right baseline, nothing
there back out top actings. Pretty good start defensively for
(17:22):
Chili Coaffee. Green Up will reset a little bit gamming
on the drive, spin move, reverse, pivot, shot up.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
No good out.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Comes Byger and he hits Cox out and Brunt who
lays it in nice shops Chili Cooffee at the defensive
rebound from Biger.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
He immediately pushes it up and Cox gets an easy
one to get the scored and started to nothing. Chili
coffee holbrick across the timeline guarded by Cox.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Cox poked it away momentarily hope it gets it back
now he spins down the middle, gets all the way,
then drops it off. That was acting or ex huge
Vedo's on the shot. No good fighting for the loose ball,
and I think the Musketeers hit it last and give
it back to Chilipape.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
Sometimes you got We'll see how the has a match up.
But Cad and Cox. Kayden is so tall sometimes when
he winds up with that point guard, I think it's
a tough matchup at that time for him. But fortunately
he got some weak sight help and they didn't weren't
able to convert Chilicothe against the zone again.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
They'll take Cox and and uh Miller and and and
scratched them out a little bit. They tried to get
Cox on the cut lay.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Up, no good, that comes green up, give way to
gam and.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
Drives hard against Miller, wandering a good job on ball,
keeping the bottle of the pain game and drives hard
to the left hand cut off once again.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
Now into the middle of achings. Ackins will retreat.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
With the gribbles back out on the right wing and
give it back to Hobra.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Ball pressure has been out standing for Chili Cooffee here.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
In the first couple of disasters, try to try to
hand it off Atros poked away by Miller. Jamon's got
it back balls loose. Now they poke it away Chili.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Coffee force of maternal the out comes.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Badger drives hard to the rim and he is fouled
on the layup attempt. Shot won't go, but Cam's gonna
get a couple free throw opportunities. Five to fourteen first quarter,
Chilicoffee leads it to nothing and Cam Badro will go
to the line and try.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
To add the bat it.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
The Counts were able to buy the guessing a season
highest shot in nineteen five shots last night against Miami
Chase at thirteen of them.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
I'm already at the line tonight. Cam's first free throw
is good. They'll get a second here. Kayden Cox comes
back here nearby us talking to Coach.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
Beard to see what defense he wants to Then Cam's.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
Second free throw also good. Tavs lead it for nothing
by fourteen first quarter. Gamon brings it up for the Musketeers.
Pressured by Miller, now gives way to Holdbrook game. It'll
get it back to look to drive hard downhill to
the right hand, picks it up around the elbow hand
off Atkins. Akins will try a right baseline jumper. No good,
(20:09):
stone King with the rebound. He'll look to push three
on three break stone King to the left hand.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
He'll retreat back out Miller.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Now, Miller, nice pass download of badger ball gets poked away.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
Out come the Musketeers as they force the turnover.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
Gammon on the push drives hard right hand, picks it
out to Akins.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
Thought about the three. Now he's gonna.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Wave the guard back out and try to reset. John
Kihy pretty good denial, so I can drive it hard
to the right hand, No goods. I'll come stone King
with it and again stone King gonna get caught to
the double dribble. Think Cooper flought the ball was knocked
away a little bit and official didn't agree there, say
the turnover back over to Green up.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
Four nothing Chilikathe for twenty six first quarter.
Speaker 4 (20:57):
A couple of caves are often a couple turning was
the last two possessions. They're certainly trying to play up
tempo tonight. They're pushing the ball up the floor and
double team and on defense. So the man demanded jumping people,
so they're very active tonight.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
To gam And brings the ball to the court and one
of the little basketballs if the cheerleaders were blowing up,
gets loose in the front row and official immediately sees
it and stops play. They get that ball retreated to
the young fellow over there on the front row and
grandam County, Kentucky, you'll take possessions of basketball. Gam And
(21:32):
drives hard to the left hand, shot up no good.
Stone King with another rebound, tries to push it aad
to Cox and holbrit poked it out of dound, so
Chilipapi will have it on the side, out of bunds.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
Trying to add to their four nothing advantage.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
But letting them play in a little contact and right
now agree of County's having a little bit of trouble
because they're over five Shane to start the game.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
I agree with you. I think Casey Gammon's been to
the rims two or three times, certainly played fish in
contact right corner three that's Cooper stone King no good
on the fight for the rebound. I think Chili Cothee, well,
he had pointed the other direction, but I.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Think they're gonna give it for Chili Coffee and now
and down the stone King and he has called for travel.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
So again just a little bit of a hurry on
the offensive end for for Chili Cothee.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
Sloppy starts.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Got things out off to a four nothing advantage here
and we're already four minutes in.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
It's very twn out. The Cooper said, just slow it
down a bit. Quite as much story with the basketball.
One nice move, olbrick Kennet trades. Now Gammon's got it
out on the left wing.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
He spins into the middle, shot up off the glass,
and it's good in a five Casey Gammon certainly a junior,
certainly in the early going, looks to be one of
their go tos and has been very aggressive to the rim.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
Great the first couple of times. No whistle, he's going.
Is not the same size as Cooper stone King been in.
Speaker 4 (23:00):
He's an outside player, but you're right, he likes to
get into the lane. You get his balance in and
go up and under. He's done a nice job of that.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
Old fashioned three for Casey.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Gammon trims the Chilipapi lead the poort of three and
Cox will bring it up for the Calves.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Musketeers continue to play the extended zone.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
Miller's got it on the right side, down in the
corner the Stone team. He hits Cam Badger shot up,
no good, Andrew Hammond fights for an extra possession.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
Now it's Cox on the drive. His layup no good,
and out comes Green up with the rebound.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Gam It'll bring it up. Musketeers trailed by one. Now
it's out top of Holbrook. Pulbrick retreated a little bit
called for the ball screen for Meadows. He rejects the
ball stream to the right hand. Ribble shot up on
a glass, No good. Cox with the reband he pushes
it out in front to one Miller. Miller goes up
(23:54):
and h The shot is blocked by Bradley Atkins on
an athletic play. But I think they got a little
body underneath and Van Miller is going to go to
the pre throw line.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
Came for my ban. That was a good idea. It
was a good block up above.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
He must have made body contact and one we'll get
to the line, calves.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Two for two from the charity strike. Yes, certainly an
athletic play was first free throw no.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
Good, cart aid Ligan and Victor Hitchins. Well, they allowed
Ligan into the game for Bader, but it looks like
Hitchins will be for Miller, so Miller will have to
shoot the second free throwing. Second free throw is good,
which will sound the horn and allowed Victor Hipchins to
(24:43):
enter the game. Five three Chilikathee. Gamon walks it up
for the Musketeers.
Speaker 4 (24:53):
He'll be guarded by Hitchins as he comes across the timeline.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
Pato's with a high ball stream.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
Gamon gets downhill, spins back to the left hand, kicks
it out left corner to Landry his three point. No
good Gammon with the pall fits of rebound for another possession,
He'll drive hard, right hand, pull up at the yelbow,
shot up, no good rebound.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
Cox goes high to grab it for the Cavaliers. Cox
will look the push. It's stone king right corner.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
He turns down the three, drives hard, dumps it off
the living shot up, no good, meadows of green up
with the rebound. Colbrook started to bring it up. Now
turns and finds his coach and sees the the play
that they want to run. As we come up on
the two minute mark of the first quarter with Chili
Coffee leading five three, Akins drives hard to the right
(25:42):
hand and lays it in. We're night it by Bradley
Acclas with his first bucket of the evening. Kitchens brings
it up for Chilicothe goes right point to stone King
out down in the right corner. It's Cox, Cox, stone King,
Hitchens and him and with a little four outset, they'll
try to die Carte Liggan into the middle.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Stone team will die it up from the right wing
and heat. He knocks it down.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Stone King, after missing his first couple, sees that one
go through. Certainly shot it well last night.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
There's a nice pass.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
Hammond had it in a corner. In that skip pass
across the zone, get Cooper plenty of time.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
He gets eight.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Five Chili Coffee game and loses it up top and
out comes Cox with it. He goes up two hands
and jumps it home. Nice job from Cayton Cox turning
a little defense into.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
Offense with a little highlight reel on the other end.
And there's a little bit of that juice that you're
talking about us that's right in the pain.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
The Chila Coffee leads at ten to five, and that
certainly gets the students a little riled up here across
the court, try to go download the Meadows give carte
Liggan a steel.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Outcomes stone King with it.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Stone King driving hard to the left hand, steps through
the double team shot up.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
Note they've a great extra after from Andrew Hammond.
Speaker 4 (26:53):
Shot up in a foul ham and working really hard
on the offensive blast.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
And he's going to get rewarded with two free throits here.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Ten five Chilicithe fifty one seconds remaining here in the
opening quarter. And Andrew Hammond will try to add to
that advantage of the charity straight first free throws Good,
he'll get a second shot up. Good got a green
(27:33):
substitution Sophomore Sawyer hat Field into the game and he'll
take over the point guard duties as he replaces Landry Lewis.
Halffield comes across timeline, pitches it there to actors.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
Akins comes off a.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
Ball screen for Meadows. Now he kicks it over to Colebrook.
Obrack will spin back to the right hand shot up
on the glass.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
No good, Meadows takes it away, shot.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Blocks by Cocks, outcomes stone King with it. Let's see
if Chilicoffee recognizes time and score. Here Hitchard sides it
up top is where it's twenty four seconds like this,
See Chilipofe get the last shot of the half.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Stone King' gonna dial it up from a D three No.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
Good Hamming with an offensive rebound con and a jump
hunt was good.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
Fourteen to five.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Chilipoffe with a nice start here this evening, eight seconds
on the clock. Let's see if they recognize it here,
Casey gaming across the timeline, spin moves in the right hand,
pull up in another block, shot from Dayden Cox on
the held side, and just an outstanding defensive effort in
the opening corner. And as we come to the end
of the first quarter, it's Chilicoffee fourteen Greenham County five.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
You're listening to.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
Chili Cooffee Boys Basketball on fourteen ninety WBEs.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
Shane Combs, Drake Bighem, Joel Coothie leads Green up fourteen
to five. As we enter second quarter and Greg, take
a look at your numbers. They're a pretty good start for.
Speaker 4 (29:59):
Chilcotty Yeahingham County is only two out of twelve shooting
the basketball. The row for one from the three calves
are four to thirteen, so they're under twenty five percent
and they're just one of four. The big stat in
the first quarter the Cavs are five to six and
the foul on they got to the line six times
made five of them.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
Good sign for Chilicothy. It's Chilicopie will have possession to
start the second quarter.
Speaker 3 (30:20):
Trying to add to that fourteen to five advantage.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Pretty good patience against the zone here, working about a
thirty second offensive possession, working in around stone King now
has it in the short corner. He'll go opposite wing
Cam Badger three point and no good at another offense
or lee down front hand ham and back up.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
No good. Stone King had.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
It momentarily and lost it, so it's going to go
out of bound to andrew him and really impacting the
game on the offensive last year and the early going.
Good sign for coach Beard. So fourteen to five Chilicothe
now green up. Will walk it up with its first
possession of the second quarter. Gammon will walk it across
the timeline Coffee into the zone that we noticed a
(31:02):
little bit last night, so they're starting to use a
little bit more.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
Greg Ackins has it up top left side.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Gammon gamm It'll dial up a wing three, no good,
and the ball goes up top and hits the extending
wire there, and then that's going to turn it back
over to Chili Coffee. One minute into the second quarter,
Chili Coffee by nine with the basketball.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
And we'll be stone King to bring it up.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
Stone King up top, Miller, Badger at the elbow in
the high post.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
Badger will pull up and shoot that one. No good.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
Back come to Musketeers. It's Holbrook. There's left side, Akins
back up top, Holbrook left side, Akins on the wings,
enter at the channel at the top. Now Akins has.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
It on the left wing.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Pulbrook over on the right side. Penetrates shot up on
the glass.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
No good.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
Badger at chilicopee with the rebound, Cox will push one
in stone.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
King up the side.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
They will throw it away, but get it back now.
Cox will drive hard to the right hand. Badger on
the offensive glass. But I think they they're going to
say he pushed in the lower back to get that advantage,
and they're gonna wave off the put back basket and
call the files on Badger. The first team foul of
the second quarter is cars Hey Liggan returns to the
(32:31):
chilicothe lineup replacing cos that'll be Chanlely bringing it up
if one miller just flying a little bit of pressure
and then they fall back into the zone. Akins on
the left point uses the right hand dribble into a
hand off of Lewis.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
How Dammon's got it over on the left side. Try
to get it inside out.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
There Atkins, Chad, we will step out of the post
to help reverse the basketball.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
And we'll turn and pitch it to Atkins.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Pretty good job of shutting off the middle by the
chilicoffee defense. Now it's Harrington down in the left corner shot.
No good outcomes Badger and he's out.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
In the open court. He gets it all the way
to the rim and he's fouled from behind just four
poor floor balance from the muskets.
Speaker 4 (33:19):
Hears there Greg on the this shot, Badger was able
to take it on the run and get all the
way to the other That happened several times tonight where
that rebound has come to the middle of the lane
maybe eight ten foot away, and the calves are a
little quicker getting to the ball and then and it's
turned into a fast break.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
As a result, you you mentioned the free throw shooting
in the first quarter. Badger will come back to the
line and he makes good on the first one. So
the free throw line in the early going here, according
to your numbers, great treat and the calves well.
Speaker 4 (33:46):
Yeah, no, six out of seven, so six of their
fifteen points that come from the foul line.
Speaker 3 (33:50):
And again again they shot.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
Nineteen last night, so obviously shows are taking the ball
to the hole.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Second free throw good calves by eleven. We have five
twenty nine to play here. In the first high and
again Miller will show some back court pressure that didn't
fall back into this kind of extended two three, they
get real active three point opportunity up type and chanting
no good. Obra comes out with offensive rebound.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
He kicks it back out.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
Akins had a really good look at it and green
no good in. Akins follows his own shot, really athletic shot.
No good once again out comes. Miller gives the way
to car Ty Legg and lay up.
Speaker 3 (34:25):
No good. Colbrick swats at it all the way out
of bound. So it's going to be chili kafee ball.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
Chilicothie had an opportunity there in transition, unable to convert,
but they will keep possession.
Speaker 4 (34:38):
I've got greenhom County fourteen eighteen shots. They've only made
two whiles, so I know two for twenty is ten percent,
so they're not much about ten percent.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Left corner grief for him and no good rebound. Gammon
of green Up that he'll look the bush. He goes
right side Atkins and they'll bring it back out and
try to reset. Still facing the Chilicopee zone that has
stone King and Kitchens up top, with Badger ligging and
hamming across the bottom. Gammon left and Ribble gets to
(35:11):
the elbow, rises up and knocks it down.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
Much needed basket for the bust year.
Speaker 4 (35:15):
They were really spicking and get the ball on a hole.
Nice jouts out there.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
That shot cuts at the sixteen to seven for Chilicopie's advantage.
Now Hitchins has it out top, he'll go left corner.
Hammon thought about the three and I hope Dribble.
Speaker 3 (35:28):
Back up and comes up to Hitchins. Hitchens will try
a top for two three.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
No good rebound by green Up momentarily knocked away. Ope
badger were excuse me? Andrew Hammond picks it up and
lays it in so Andrew continues just to work hard
on the extra effort. Put the chili coffee back up
eleven Coldbood brings it back up top. Chandler's got it there,
writs the channel one of the two seniors on the
(35:55):
green up Rosston. Now it's gamming. He'll bring it all
the way back out for the jump circle and reset
the offense.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
Ales Akins up top.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
Is it the Harrington? Harrington at top? The key goes
high low game with Chandling shot up. No good hamming
at the rebounds. It's been a good rebounding night here
in the first half for Andrew. Hammond goes up the
right side with Badger Badger, and I think Badger thought
he had been able to draw the contact, but he
comes down with it and it's a traveler. Turned it
(36:31):
over back to the Musketeers. So it's three twenty one remaining.
First Hash Tilakapia out in front eighteen to seven, in
a very impressive defensive effort for this point.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
His game and.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
Walks it up the flor comes left side Akins again.
They come up top with chan Len. They'll try to
play a little high low nothing there this time. Wholebrook
out top comes Akins on the left side top chandling.
Speaker 3 (37:02):
Now Harrington will step out.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
He'll drive hard to the baseline, spin back to the middle,
a little jump hooking.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Good. Nice job Gavin Harrington his first basket of the night.
Chilicothe lead trimmed back to nine and eighteen and nine.
Speaker 2 (37:16):
Two forty three left in the first half. Chilicothe come back.
Musketeers continue to stay in the zone.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
Stone Team has it out top.
Speaker 4 (37:26):
He's joined out top of a two guard front with
Victor Hitchins.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
Cox has it on the right side.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
Stone Team tried to reverse it picked off there by
actings acking, driving hard to.
Speaker 3 (37:39):
The rim and lays it in and the foul.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
Great Bradley Atkins is shown to be a really athletic
young man. He in the first half we talked about
the defensive ability on the one end. That time he
uses that athleticism, jumps the passing wing and goes down.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
It's gonna have a chance for an old fashioned breeze.
Speaker 4 (37:58):
A little bit short than gain with Agannon's athletic too,
although he's probably about six one six two, but real
Sullivan's trili greenop count of getting themselves back in it.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
Free throw no good so it's going to remain eighteen
eleven Chili copy.
Speaker 3 (38:14):
We come all right around two ten here to play.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
In the first half, Miller penetrates the middle back out
the stone team.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
Bella and I'll try to try to swing at the
Cocks not there.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
Cox will walk up to him and they'll hand it off.
The Cox just lose it in the back. Hording going
to be called well he lost it over and back.
But luckily right before that happened, Coach Beard did what
for the time out, there's tides that we'll stay here
on the shore with. There's tides, Greg that the coach
will call the tide out as the as the kid
makes a shot or does that that tide that that's
(38:50):
a good time.
Speaker 4 (38:50):
I'll save save the turtles. I did save a turnover
of the cabs a little bit sloppy, but yeah, Greenop
still on the zone scene, but they were they're really
forcing our offense.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
We out with their zone. Uh, you know, last night.
Speaker 4 (39:03):
We did a pretty good job and earlier tonight getting
the ball down inside of the last three or four trips.
It seems like we've got five guys on the perimeter.
Nobody's cutting down low or not getting the ball on
the top of the key. Everything's coming around the perimeter.
Maybe Pat's gonna say something. We do have all the
Hitchings is back in, but uh, we got Badger and Cox.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
I'd love to I love in a zone for Kayden.
Get the ball to top of the key.
Speaker 4 (39:27):
Let him get the ball in the middle, because he
can get up in the air shoot or maybe dump
under the cant to Okay, Badger and you.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
Mentioned last night just the abordance of getting a quality
shot each time until Coffy's had a lot of success
on the offensive last So when you're turning it over,
you're not giving yourself any of those opportunities. Al Cox
has it down in the right corner. Coach Beard encouraging
the flash from the backside. Al Badger has its back
out top stunting over the hitches. Hitchings will use some
(39:57):
dribble penetration. Oneted Cocks in the middle. Chanley knocks it away,
loose ball out my half court, outcomes actions with it
and he'll go down and.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
Lay it in.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
Bradley Actins been really active here in the first half,
and all of a sudden, the Chilicothee advantage cut all
the way to five and they were shooting around ten
percent and they've made four of their last five.
Speaker 4 (40:17):
It's because of several layps off the turnovers. Stone King
has it out, I left point. There we go the
high post.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
Look, Cox tried to go high low picked off there
and again the Musketeers have really found something here in
the extended zone. Gambit will try to deep left ring
three and he's got it. Casey it, damn it. He's
got eight on the night, and Chili Coffee's lead is
trimmed all the way down to two at eighteen sixteen,
because we're less than a minute until halftime.
Speaker 3 (40:48):
There we go. That's what we need. No line jumper,
no good knocked out and actions of a green that
comes out with it. Chandley over on the left side,
he's going to try for a shot up, no good,
fight for the for.
Speaker 2 (41:03):
The rebound, hold Overrick wins it and gonna give green
Up another possession.
Speaker 3 (41:09):
We'll see if they hold for the last one.
Speaker 2 (41:11):
Now, and I think they're going to to Chillicothe up
eighteen sixteen and Greenup's going to try to take the
final shot here up the first half at fifteen seconds
to back, they're gonna go ahead and take a time
out in.
Speaker 3 (41:23):
Just the thirties. We'll stay here and fan.
Speaker 2 (41:26):
Over the last two to three minutes, things have really
really turned. And you give Greenop credit for the activity
on the defensive end, but at the same time, there's
been a lot of unforced stuff.
Speaker 4 (41:35):
From Chilicote's fourteen to five at the end of the quarter,
I think Chili Coote had that lead up to what
twelve thirteen points and Greenham County they weren't able. They
couldn't throw the ball in the ocean from the beach,
and they were shooting just at over ten percent, But
their defense and turnovers and you said some unforced errors
got them into transition. He got them going a couple
(41:55):
three layups and they hit a three, and all of
a sudden they got themselves warmed up and within two
looking for the.
Speaker 3 (42:01):
Last shot of that half. So if you're Chili, the last
couple of times seen we've done it.
Speaker 4 (42:07):
We had some unforced turnings, we did attack nice to
the top of the key, and we had a couple
of good looks. Ka Katon had a good look there.
So they've done a better job the last two trips
against that zone.
Speaker 3 (42:17):
They just weren't able to connect three out of the
time out.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
Greenup County is going to have the inbound right here
in front of us.
Speaker 3 (42:27):
That was going to go man to man.
Speaker 2 (42:30):
Yeah, when the whole Brook brings it across nine to
shoot guarded there by, Cosh give up a foul if
they want to on the roll. They hit the Harrington
down low, his shot up, no good. Stone King comes
out with it.
Speaker 3 (42:43):
His half part attempt off the backboard, no good. So
we've arrived in a halftime here at Chilicopy High School,
Chili Cooffe.
Speaker 2 (42:51):
Taval Leers lead Green Up eighteen to sixteen. Stay with
us Shane COM's Greg Big. We'll be back with some
first half updates and some second half adjustments. If you're

Speaker 3 (47:09):
At eighteen sixty.
Speaker 2 (47:10):
Chilicothi jumped out fourteen to five after one only was
able to score four points one field goal there in
the second quarter. As Greenup got going and outscored them
eleven four.
Speaker 4 (47:21):
As you take a look at the numbers there, I
assumed they would kind of match up with the quarters. Yeah,
you know, Greenup was, like I told, they were like
two of almost two of nineteen I think, and couldn't
get anything to go.
Speaker 3 (47:34):
And then it was the turnovers.
Speaker 4 (47:36):
They got a couple of fast breaks, they hit a
three that got going, but they still Greenup shut I
got him for twenty seven percent from the field. They're
only one out of six from the three point line
on Chilicothy's side.
Speaker 3 (47:47):
They're not having a great shooting night either.
Speaker 4 (47:49):
They're shooting just under twenty three percent five to twenty
two after a pretty good first quarter, and they are
only one out of seven, so one team won out
of six from three's Chillicothy won out of having threes
haven't been good.
Speaker 3 (48:01):
To either team.
Speaker 4 (48:03):
I thought the turnovers and the transition buckets or what
got Greenup back in the game. And I still think
the Cabs part of the reason they're on top is
from the foul line. They're seven out of eight, so
they've outscored Greenup seven to one by six points from
the foul line, and that's one of the differences in
the game. So they did get themselves to the bucket.
But their offense, I don't know, stagnant's the right word.
(48:25):
They got a little bit out of whack and they
weren't right there in the last minute. I thought the
last ninety seconds they got a couple of good shots,
but that previous time, most of the second quarter, they didn't.
They didn't get a lot of good shots and had
you called it some unforced errors against that zone defense,
and it took away some scoring opportunities and allowed Greenip
to get catch up to them.
Speaker 2 (48:46):
Well, a couple of things chef out at me as
you get those numbers there. The free throws kind of
matched the aggressive first quarter. You know, they were aggressive downhill,
they called some turnovers of their own, got into.
Speaker 3 (48:57):
The open court.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
I thought Andrew Hands and Cam Badger were really up
on the offensive glass and that cast some chances to
go to the free throat line. And in the second
quarter they kind of robbed themselves of some of those
opportunities with the unforced airs. Again, what's happening when you're
not getting a shot at the basket. Obviously you're not
getting a chance for that shot to go in, but
then you're not able to take advantage of the one
(49:19):
thing that you've really dominated at this point, which has
been the offensive glass.
Speaker 3 (49:23):
So Chilofee's able.
Speaker 2 (49:25):
To clean that up, then they certainly can get back
in control of this thing. Let's take a look some
halftime scoring. First, on the Greenham side, they only had
three different kids scored to get to their sixteen points
Casey game, and their junior I would say point guard
most of the time, scored eight points. Bradley Atkins was
(49:46):
six and then Gavin Harrington with two so again just
three muskets heers in.
Speaker 3 (49:51):
The scoring column.
Speaker 2 (49:52):
Over on the chilicoffee side, they're led by Andrew Hammond
with six, Cayden Cox with four, Cooper stone King with three.
Cam Badger also has four. He was four for fourth
of the pre throw line and then want Miller out
of the pre throw. And again there's where the eighteen
comes from. As they lead at eighteen sixteen. So you
look at the adjustment. Greg as simple was take care.
Speaker 3 (50:14):
Of the basketball. I assume it's got to be number
one on coach be Yeah.
Speaker 4 (50:18):
They had I had him for seven turning and then
sometimes I'll miss a turnover two bit. I had him
for seven turnovers, probably too many against Greenup. But it's
not like their pressure in the full quarter or anything.
But those unforced airs, there's bad turnovers.
Speaker 7 (50:30):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (50:30):
And then uh, maybe somebody got to find the hot
guy against the zone and then they can get the
ball to him, whether they can work it around, catch
Cam on the low box, maybe catch Hammon in the corner.
Speaker 3 (50:42):
Stone King gets hot. I like Cayden Cox in the
middle of the zone. We'll let him work the middle
of the lane. So we'll see. Uh.
Speaker 4 (50:48):
But they got to find something there and get those
juices going, as you said, and find something offensively to
get gone. I think they can continue to defend. I
mean Greenop County. You know they had the breakaway one.
They probably had three easy layups on breakaways. Take those
of They only scored like ten points other than those
(51:08):
three breakaway lamps.
Speaker 3 (51:10):
Absolutely, So I.
Speaker 4 (51:11):
Don't see Greenham are going to come out and I
you know, may eat my words, but uh, you know,
I don't see them able. If we play good defense,
score a lot. We just got to get going offensively.
We've only scored eighteen.
Speaker 3 (51:23):
Well, yeah, very winnable game for the Calves.
Speaker 2 (51:26):
If they come out of the locker room and find
that first quarter of formula that allowed them to open
up the double digital leads, hopefully they can get control
of this thing again at halftime. Tili Coffee eighteen, Greenup sixteen.
Shane Holmes a great big We'll step aside for one minute.
We'll be back to bring you second half action.
Speaker 3 (51:42):

Speaker 3 (52:51):
Welcome back Chilicopy High School, Shang Holmes and Greg Vegas
both teams gone to the bench here and huddle up
one last time or just about age things started. In
the second half, looks like Chilock Coffee will bring him
out the way they started the game with Hammon, Cops, Badger,
Miller and stone King.
Speaker 2 (53:10):
The Musketeers still not come out of the huddle here,
so we'll see how they're they're going to start.
Speaker 3 (53:16):
But again, Chick Coffee needs to find that first quarter
of magic where they were really active and opened up
to the fourteen to five and I believe that that
jumped to eighteen to five at one point before the
Musketeers started their way back.
Speaker 4 (53:30):
Jush, and you mentioned before we started the broadcast about
you thought maybe uh Carte Ligan has played some, but
baby Hitchins has played, but we haven't seen noa netter
and you know some against that zone they have one
pretty tall guy, but maybe against that zone, I don't know.
For a couple of minutes, you stick Noah in there
and get him on the low block and we'll see
(53:51):
no One.
Speaker 2 (53:51):
In the second half, Musketeers will bring out Harrington, Atkins, Wholebrook,
Gammon and Channing to start the third order and they'll
have possession of the basketball and down there to Harrington,
Harington has it on the left wing. He'll drive right
hand of the middle jump hook into the middle. No
good rebound of Chilipipee is by Miller. One Miller on
(54:15):
the drive down the middle loses it out comes Harrington.
Speaker 3 (54:19):
The Musketeers will look to.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
Push Chandley into the middle and on what he thought
was a jump stop. The official felt like he won
two the finish and got called for the travel. So
it's going to go back over to chilipipe So teams
trade turnovers. Miller will bring it up for chili coffee
high post of Cocks.
Speaker 3 (54:42):
Cocks will turn to the left hand draw some triple.
Speaker 2 (54:45):
The teams now goes left corner to hammer Ham and
drops it download the badger. He's doubled on the block.
Tried to throw it off of a musketeer, but what happened?
Greg's that hit the green up player and then hit
camp Afford before it.
Speaker 3 (55:00):
Comes down and turn it over.
Speaker 4 (55:02):
We talked about no turnovers, and we jump out in
the first thirty seconds and have two of them.
Speaker 3 (55:06):
So hopefully gets settled down here right Chandle he brings
it up for granted. I'll give its way to Gammon
right side Holbrook.
Speaker 2 (55:16):
Pack up Chandler poked away by Viger momentarily Green It
gets it by I'll Holdbrook ties it up tip, He'll
go left hand, rib into the middle, little hesitation shot
up on the rim, No good. Fight for the loose ball.
Greenhim gets another opportunity shot, No good. I'll come Stone can't.
King will push it up the left side.
Speaker 3 (55:39):
Cow goes all the way down to the right corner.
Haim and I'll try and three any guy.
Speaker 4 (55:44):
Andrew Hammond gets the scoring started here the second half,
she'll copee up five twenty one sixteen. Something they might
have talked about it against US one two too, that
maybe Andrew Hammond could get some and got that good
look in the corner sat heavy.
Speaker 3 (56:01):
Cox steps in front, pokes out the showtime on the
other end of two head and slam pay Cox for
the second time the night.
Speaker 2 (56:08):
Dives out in the front, turns defense into a highlight
reel on the other end twenty three sixteen.
Speaker 3 (56:14):
I'll see if that'll spark the times A little bit
that comes.
Speaker 2 (56:18):
Hobra wanted to go left side to Gammon, denied there
by Miller, so it's high ball screen with ham harton.
I think Cox is gonna get called for the handset.
Speaker 3 (56:29):
Is just a common.
Speaker 2 (56:30):
File side out of bounds for the Musketeers twenty three
sixteen Chili Coffee. We're just two minutes into the second half.
Holbra takes it in the back court, started by Cox,
pitches it there the channel, He drives, spin, moved, good
(56:54):
help for the stone pin out's light side. Holbert hand
off Gammon, I'm going to look to go one on
one against Miller.
Speaker 3 (57:04):
Picks it up and I goes right side of Harrington.
Speaker 2 (57:07):
Harrington will rip through hard, drive to the basine, a
little step through moving and finish Gavin Harriton with a
nice drive and score twenty three eighteen. Chilicopy leads at five.
Back come the Cavaliers. Stone King will try and left
pointer three and he's got it.
Speaker 3 (57:23):
So the free ball treating the cavalier as well. Here
in nearly going. At first it was Hammon this time
at stone King twenty six eighteen. Times lead back to
eight and I think.
Speaker 4 (57:33):
We've got a player, maybe a little blood down the uniform.
Now that was the last time down. Yeah, that was yeah, Harrington,
big guy inside. He and Hamlin were vattling and he
I think he got poked in the nose with the eye,
but he came back to score, and then this time
(57:54):
that I don't can notice some blood.
Speaker 3 (57:56):
I don't think the blood got on the uniform.
Speaker 2 (57:58):
So the trainer felt like it was cleaned up enough
for Harrington to remain in the game. So the official
step into chat there. So now we're about ready to
get one again, as the Musketeers will have it on
the side out of bounds set in the bay court
there too. Gammon gaming will work one on one across
(58:20):
the timeline against Miller of sight.
Speaker 3 (58:23):
It's Holbrit.
Speaker 2 (58:24):
Holbrit wanted Harrington there on the shuffle cutting nothing there
up top channeling chadly guarded by badger retreating rebels now
looks to play one on one down hill and the
lake's rebel turns.
Speaker 3 (58:38):
The pictures of the harrison. Harrington gives way to Gammon.
Speaker 2 (58:44):
Jelicife doing a nice job keeping the ball out of
the middle. Here, good possession so far for the kid.
Gammon goes right corner, it's acas. I can drive to
the day's sliine. When stunt King goes up and tries
to block the shot, I think you got a little
bit of the wrist.
Speaker 3 (58:58):
That's gonna send him to the Law's.
Speaker 4 (59:03):
Bradley Atkins will make a trip to the free throw
line to try to cut into.
Speaker 3 (59:08):
This Chilikathee eight point advantage.
Speaker 4 (59:11):
Other cams outshot greened. First half from the foul line
eight free throws to two, so only the third foul
shot for the Musketeers.
Speaker 3 (59:20):
Acts. First free throw goes in and out.
Speaker 2 (59:24):
Get impressed with akins athleticism and overall effort. Plays a
great energy. This second free throw is good. Twenty six
to nineteen chili coffee. Four thirty two to go. Third quarter.
Stone Hen will bring it up and they just don't
guard because don't you. Drives all the way to the round,
but the shot is blocked by Harrington.
Speaker 3 (59:44):
Outcomes. Akins gets the other out shot, fake shot up
in good Bradley Actins with a basket.
Speaker 2 (59:51):
Give Harent give credit starting it all with the block
shot on the other end that comes long. Miller drives
the right hand back out Stone We had the three
turned down to three. You're right back out the Miller.
He'll a look to drive to the right hand pack
the stone King. Good job there by Holbrook to cut
off the middle. Now Cox has it on the on
(01:00:12):
the wing. He'll drive hard the rim and I think
we had contact, but I think they're gonna call it
on the floor before he explode it into the shot.
I think they got acts on the hand check. So
just the common bowl is gonna No, he didn't give
them shots. Oh I so prib agree, well, foul. The
whistle was well before Kayden looks like he was trying
to put the ball up. But we'll take it a
(01:00:33):
little bit of that NBA could.
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
Yeah, it was definitely the NBA continuation.
Speaker 2 (01:00:39):
So Cox gets the trip to the free throw line
by mistake shot no good, he'll get another. Cavs by five,
twenty six five third quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:00:52):
Cox had four points in the first.
Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
Half, including the dunk, and then obviously here in the
second half.
Speaker 3 (01:01:01):
With the two hands slam out of the Apron Corns.
Speaker 4 (01:01:03):
But four dunks and I two by Kat and Cox
two and the j Vegan for Chilicothe.
Speaker 3 (01:01:10):
Free throw is good.
Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
I believe that was pleasant and better that had those
two dunks of the JV game.
Speaker 3 (01:01:16):
That was impressed. So twenty seven twenty one Chilipoppe.
Speaker 2 (01:01:21):
They lead by six. After the Pox free throw back
comes Chantley of Green. It turns and pitches it the
Hulbrook Hulbrit guarded closely by Cox. Now it's gamming up
top against Miller. That's been a good matchup so far.
Receive actors over on the right side. Wanted to go
one on one again Stunky and he had on the baseline.
(01:01:43):
Baseline kicked the Hulbrook, gets into the middle, tied to
dump it underneath. I think he wanted meadows, but he
throws it away. I'm going to turn it back over
the Chilickofee.
Speaker 4 (01:01:54):
Good job by stone King because Atkins likes to drive
most every time, and that time he laid off a
little bitted prevented it from the drive.
Speaker 2 (01:02:03):
Tiller drives the left hand penetration gives way to badger shot.
Speaker 3 (01:02:07):
Cook call the way in and comes out back.
Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
Come the Musketeers with a gammon'll look to push Ikn's
in the left corner, and I think they're gonna get
Miller on the a little bit of the body common
foul Chili coopis third foul fight out of bounds for
the Musketeers. Tho just entered up top the game.
Speaker 4 (01:02:31):
Good coach, Dunk King yelling out, I think a great
mark there, don't overhelp and they did.
Speaker 2 (01:02:37):
A little given got Gammon to Holbrook, back to gam
and he lays it in my basket.
Speaker 3 (01:02:43):
Cuts to Chilicoppy lead to four. Vick comes Cocks in
a hurry. He drives, jumps it.
Speaker 2 (01:02:47):
Off to Hammon and Andrew Hammond lays it in Hamming
with five in the quarter, eleven in the game. Quick
actually viac a fourth here. All of a sudden, Chandler's
gonna rise up and hit the mid right and jump
or twi back and forth.
Speaker 4 (01:03:02):
We go four shots in a row made by greenhom
County Miller into the.
Speaker 2 (01:03:07):
Middle, shot up, all kinds of contact and he's gonna
go to.
Speaker 3 (01:03:11):
The free throw line.
Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
Tiller had jump stopped in the middle, looked to reverse
pivot to throw back out green Up kind of overplayed.
Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
He just used a good some good footworks and was
able to pivot Hack into his shot and he got
a hit on that shot. He's gonna earned two through.
Speaker 2 (01:03:31):
So Van Miller was one for two from the free
throw line in the first half.
Speaker 4 (01:03:35):
He'll get two more here in the third quarter. First
shot is good.
Speaker 2 (01:03:42):
Carrington enters the degree, enters the game here for the
Mustardeers ligging for the Cavaliers, and Miller is going to
get a second free throw, trying to add to a
Cat's five point lead. Shot up, no good, so the
league will remain thirty twenty five.
Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
Chilicopy in front. Two twenty to go.
Speaker 2 (01:04:01):
Third quarter, Chanley drives hard to the right hand, turns
and pitches at the game and.
Speaker 3 (01:04:06):
He'll try a right side three pointer and he's got it.
And Casey Gammon's having a nice night.
Speaker 2 (01:04:11):
Five in the quarter. Thirteen in the game, he leads
all scores. Thirty twenty eight Chili Coffee. Miller has it
up top. Miller gives way to hammer One had cocks
on the little dive on the diagonal and Actings knocked
it out of bound. ChIL Coffee's going to get an
(01:04:32):
obi under looks like Miller will be the inbounder. I
try and to look usually a screen to screen or
look for Chili Coffee one fliggan. Now they have to
throw it all the way out top of the ligan
and he'll give way to stone King and set stone
King drives hard to the right hand, hits Hamming in
that right corner. Three and just an instant replay of
(01:04:53):
earlier in the quarter ender Hammond with another three ball
that extends Chili Cooffee's lead back to thirty three.
Speaker 3 (01:05:01):
One thirty six third quarter, caves by five.
Speaker 4 (01:05:06):
After the cows one to seven from the three point
line in the first half. They made all three here
staying in the third quarter, one by stone King and
the two you called by him and certainly some good
looks so far.
Speaker 3 (01:05:15):
Yeah, Gammon one on one ties to spin, good call. Miller.
Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
Miller got the hand down on the arm, should be
on the floor. I didn't think he was any act
of shooting, and I thought he's got him on the spin.
I think they are going to give him the obi
under opportunity fourteen to foul, So just a minute twenty
go to the third quarter. But green Up will shoot
two on any Chili Cooffee file. Here the remainder of
(01:05:41):
the corner. They throw it up over the top of channeling.
He goes hard to the right hand and shoots it
over the top of the leggings.
Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
Brice and Chandler Chandeley strong young man finishes there to
the right hand. Thirty three thirty Chilicothee League cut the three.
Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
Cammon's got it up top gives left side the badger
up top Stone team for fifty six seconds go third
quarter outs Fager to the right hand up top cops
high ball screen from the ligand ToxS gets out and
I think Liggan got him on that little clip on
the outside. It's going to be an illegal screen and
turn it back over the muskets here Coach Beard going
(01:06:25):
to talk it over there with the official forty six
point nine left third quarter.
Speaker 4 (01:06:34):
Pad said he didn't touch him. Offishal said, yeah, he did.
He goes, Are you sure there wasn't much of him,
but he did move. He moved on to pick stay.
Speaker 2 (01:06:45):
Square up top Gammon high ball screen there from Harrington
out up top channel, guarded closely by Liggan, mid range
jumper fade away, no good. Harrington on the offensive email
I'm on the spin movie loses an outcomes stone King
with a Stone King a little stop and go shot
up blocked by Gammon and we had to travel as
(01:07:08):
Gammon turned to.
Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
Throw it up the court. So thirteen point six remaining
in the third quarter, ball's going to go back over
to Chilikaffee tabs by three with a chance to add
to that league. I think we might have another situation
with blood. Let's see if give him an opportunity this time.
(01:07:37):
I ain't They're gonna.
Speaker 4 (01:07:39):
For Greenham Yeah, thirteen seconds soon hasn't been a strong
point for the Cavaliers getting that final shot of the game.
Speaker 3 (01:07:45):
Re quarter of it.
Speaker 2 (01:07:48):
See what they do here, badger the unbounder left corner.
It's Hammond for three and got it.
Speaker 3 (01:07:54):
Andrew Hammond having a big time night.
Speaker 4 (01:07:57):
That says third three of the third quarter until coffee
back up six at thirty six thirty shoot a shoot.
Speaker 2 (01:08:04):
Chanley cools up deep three left side shot, no good
at the third quarter. It comes to an ends here
at the lc Hat Memorial Gymnasium with your Chilicofye Cavaliers
at front thirty six to thirty.

Speaker 3 (01:09:24):
Welcome back.
Speaker 4 (01:09:25):
Entering the fourth quarter here at Chill Coffee thirty six
Green of thirty and Greg, I assume the stats will
tell you that the three ball was good to the
Cavaliers and they went from in the twenties for both teams,
twenty percent shooting in the first half and yeah, four
for four for the three point lines for chilicothee three
by Hammond and they were a total six of nine
(01:09:46):
from the field. So there was shooting percentage really shot
up on the other side, five of eleven for Greenop,
so both teams shot the ball a whole lot better
in the third quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:09:55):
Yeah, with the opening possession, had a patient possession.
Speaker 2 (01:09:59):
Going, but then they end up throwing it away with
and that Turnold is gonna eat end up in an
easy hunter Holbrick lay up. On the other end, green
Up strikes first here in the fourth and final quarter
to cut the Cavaliers lead to four high post entry
into Cocks. He turns and goes hard to the hole.
I'm gonna have a chance for an a to one
opportunities and scores and get fouled.
Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
That's exactly where you talked about you love him.
Speaker 4 (01:10:23):
I like him there and again I think he had
a seven foot shot, but he strong enough, he took it,
and I'm gonna have a chance for a three point play.
Speaker 2 (01:10:33):
The field goal makes it thirty eight to thirty two.
Caden adds the free throw, so lead thirty nine thirty
two Cavs by seven with seven minutes to play game,
and brings it back up for the Musketeers.
Speaker 3 (01:10:44):
He's guarded there by stone King up top chandling.
Speaker 4 (01:10:49):
And don't overhelp and don't get beat off the dribble here,
make them beach outside.
Speaker 3 (01:10:55):
Akins with a hard drive to the right hand. Gonna
be fouled by badger teams.
Speaker 2 (01:11:02):
First of the full quarter here, it's gonna be a
side out of bounds opportunity not sure Cam, I Cam
found him and then and it was an accidental. Then
after he reached into Falley kind of caught an arm
(01:11:23):
and the eye there, but I thought it was definitely
foul and camp down to Harrington.
Speaker 3 (01:11:29):
They'll look to go one on one now. They're gonna
throw it in the post.
Speaker 2 (01:11:32):
Chanty he dumps it off the whole brook and they're
gonna say that chilicoffee touched out. And then Cox's caught one.
Speaker 4 (01:11:42):
People getting shots to the face here accidentally, and Caden
caught one there.
Speaker 2 (01:11:46):
He's holding his eye. Grew up with the one four
low out of bound set. They're gonna lob it over
the top there to Chantley.
Speaker 3 (01:11:53):
He's gonna drive hard.
Speaker 2 (01:11:54):
One on one, rises up over top of ligging scores
twice and Handley his first bucking of the fourth quartery
a sixth in the game thirty nine thirty four Tilokafie
by five with the basketball, Stone can the right corner
to live.
Speaker 3 (01:12:10):
In how High coast the Badger.
Speaker 2 (01:12:13):
Badger rips through the double ta Ken my good hustle
to keep possession out the Cocks, and I think we're
going to have a time out tilokafie.
Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
Let's see if they go with the shorter long here.
I think we got a time out. They still haven't.
Speaker 2 (01:12:31):
Signaled what it's going to be here, so they're saying
we got to keep. I think they must have just
stopped it. Wondering if he was okay.
Speaker 4 (01:12:43):
Yeah, maybe they stopped it. I think no pack, yeah, okay,
no timeout. Injured player appreciate the clarification.
Speaker 2 (01:12:53):
Their official comes over and said that he was concerned
with the player injury. No timeout, So I'm gonna break
the guys right back out and be Chili Coockee basketball.
Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
Miller brings it into the front fourth there. Cox is
out of the game right now.
Speaker 2 (01:13:10):
One's in trouble up and under a little pivot through
and they said Miller draws a little contact there and
going to go back to the free throw line.
Speaker 3 (01:13:19):
He's been there four times already this evening. He's made
two of them.
Speaker 2 (01:13:22):
Six eleven to go in the game. Chili cope by five,
and the free throw line is always going to play
a huge roll down to stretch here.
Speaker 3 (01:13:33):
First free throw is good.
Speaker 4 (01:13:37):
I'll repeat myself in nineteen free throws last night. That's
number fourteen to nine. Quick sign aggressive to the whole
second free throws no good.
Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
For four and how the floor balance somehow on a
free throw gets off and the muskets here's gonna open up.
They don't get it rebound and Harrington jump book Chili
coocke dodge the bullet hair out comes Miller with two
big misses down inside Mill a back out stone King,
No hurry, no hurry, folks, we're up six stone King
inside legging he hard drive for the right hand. He
(01:14:10):
lays it in strong news from the freshman.
Speaker 3 (01:14:14):
Cart Leggan with his first basket of the evening.
Speaker 4 (01:14:16):
Comes at a nice time because it pushes Philipponthi's lead
to eight forty two thirty four.
Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
Advertise it on the left side, high.
Speaker 2 (01:14:24):
Ball screen there from Chanty. Now Harrington has it on
the right wing. He'll give way to Gamon Gammon thought
about a three. Now it's Harrington up top.
Speaker 3 (01:14:33):
He will keep the three.
Speaker 2 (01:14:35):
No good light for the loose ball Stone King comes
out with it. Stone can trip there in the back
court and I'll get his way to Miller and good
time out Coach Bear, recognize they're in trouble the bike
court and you'll save the possession. It's just a short one.
Let's stay here, So Gregan, a great opportunity for philicithe
(01:14:55):
the lead at forty two to thirty four. You have
the basketball, come down and execute. You can push just
back to double digits.
Speaker 3 (01:15:01):
Yeah, you don't.
Speaker 4 (01:15:02):
You know, you don't need to force it unless you're
wide open ticket to the whole, But you don't need
to force it. Get double team and lose the ball,
move it around, take good care of it. Uh think
Cox is still out of the game. So uh hopefully, Yeah,
if you could get up by ten, I'd feel a
whole lot better. Here they're up by eight, and if
they can increase that lead here over the Musketeers pause
the week. This week's Shane, we got what Tuesday, Wednesday,
(01:15:25):
Wednesday Friday chat.
Speaker 2 (01:15:26):
Wow, So so we's going to be a lot of
chili coopy basketball. But again we talked about that in
the free game. A great opportunity for this team coming
in at four and eight h certainly in a rough
record so far.
Speaker 4 (01:15:41):
But uh, by the way, that was a big bucket
by Carte. Ligging, yes, getting bucket out of Carte as
the freshman almost throw it away. But back to actually
chilicoffie basketball trying to add to the eight point age.
Speaker 3 (01:15:54):
Stone can up top Hammon for free. Then he got it,
and it's Bill and huts.
Speaker 2 (01:16:00):
This four to three pointer the night I unofficially had
him for twenty points to lead all scores forty five
thirty four.
Speaker 3 (01:16:06):
I thought it was Stone king tonight Hammon with the
hot hand.
Speaker 2 (01:16:09):
For the three point line right side, it's Lewis goes
down low into the post of channel help helping one
on one there, bikes his way in against Ligan and.
Speaker 3 (01:16:19):
Shot up no good. Both officials had the same foul
there as they had Ligan on the body. So two
free throw opportunities here for Rice and Chandley.
Speaker 2 (01:16:33):
Chandlin's a good looking athlete, strong kid, jumps well, gets
down there.
Speaker 3 (01:16:37):
In the post and nice physical move draws the foul.
Speaker 4 (01:16:45):
Two shot foul, four thirty seven remaining in the game
times by eleven.
Speaker 3 (01:16:50):
First free throw is good.
Speaker 2 (01:16:57):
This second free throw a chance for the Musketeers to
get back into single digits.
Speaker 3 (01:17:02):
Looks like Hayden Cox is going to return to the
lineup for Chili.
Speaker 2 (01:17:05):
Cofee got to the table too late and said, old
need to wait on the second free through.
Speaker 3 (01:17:11):
See what happens. Shot his good. So that's going to
allow Cox enter the game. Is to lead.
Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
Now trend the nine at forty five thirty six again
four thirty seven. It looks like Green Apple maybe extend
the floor just a little bit and now they back
off a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:17:27):
Looks like, well, yeah, one two two, maybe a trap
from half court three quarters, try to trap the basketball.
Speaker 3 (01:17:34):
Cavs need to get somebody in the middle.
Speaker 2 (01:17:37):
They'll learn stunt king two guard front. They do get
Vigor in the middle. Now he goes corner to Cox.
Cox will try a left side three no good. Prrenton
goes high for the rebound for the Musketeers and they'll
look the push with Chandler.
Speaker 3 (01:17:50):
On the left side.
Speaker 2 (01:17:51):
He drives hard to the left hand of the baseline,
and I think we're going to have a body on
the drive there.
Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
Just on the floor. That's that thirteen fout for to
a high should be an obi under opportunity for Green up.
Speaker 2 (01:18:08):
As they look to cut into this Cavalier nine point advantage.
Speaker 3 (01:18:14):
One four low set. Got to throw it all the
way out topping out of gammon.
Speaker 2 (01:18:20):
Gammon against Cox, takes the high ball strain from chailing
gammin pull up mid range jump or no good and
nowhere with the rebound, and I think we're gonna have
a reach in file. Look like the Lewis down there. Yes,
Landry Lewis reached the in for the file. That's their
thirteen fouls. We're getting closer and closer to the bonus as.
Speaker 3 (01:18:43):
We come up on the four minute mark, remaining in
the game.
Speaker 2 (01:18:49):
Again the one two to two extended stone King and
Miller up top Ydro in the middle gives way to Cox.
Now at stone King, he'll try a right wing green
Oh good, long rebound back out the Miller, so Kaz
keep possession. Miller splits the double team gets the Mill,
drops it off the ham and the rays it in
(01:19:09):
Andrew Hammond with another two great penetration and passed from
one Miller forty seven thirty six till a coffee lead back.
Speaker 3 (01:19:18):
To eleven three thirty remaining in the ball game.
Speaker 2 (01:19:23):
Chandling with it up time high ball stream from Gammon
Chandler a little step through.
Speaker 3 (01:19:29):
Tough shot in the middle. Wow, got it.
Speaker 2 (01:19:31):
Tough, tough shot for Rice and Chanley. But nonetheless it
goes forty seven thirty eight kaz lead back to nine.
Miller crossed the timeline to break the champ. Now Miller
drives hard in the middle, tried to dump it off,
and it's picked off, and it's gonna have number and opportunity.
Gammon's gonna lay it in on the other end again
(01:19:52):
until it's type in a big hurry with a big lead.
Speaker 3 (01:19:55):
That's just like that.
Speaker 4 (01:19:56):
In fact, that's what coach Weer just said, you don't
need to force its telling Miller you didn't need that.
Speaker 3 (01:20:02):
Hawks comes right across the line and picks it up,
but turned the half court line into a third defender
as a result, throws it away the Chilicothe student section
and now all of a sudden one was an eleven leaders,
seven point leaders man Greenup has.
Speaker 4 (01:20:17):
The basketball finished the game strong and well, you said
all time shine score and time.
Speaker 3 (01:20:25):
Full time out from green Up. We'll take it with them.
Speaker 2 (01:20:28):

Speaker 3 (01:21:22):
Being with us. It's been a good night for Chilico.
Speaker 2 (01:21:25):
I think just time to finish here, Greg, And as
we said the last two or three times, again just
not understanding where you're at on the floor and what
the defense.
Speaker 3 (01:21:34):
Is trying to yeap do to you.
Speaker 4 (01:21:36):
And oh so they double teamed one and he's split it,
and you know that natural reaction is, oh, I split
the double team, and he tried to take it to
the bucket and got himself down in amongst all the
trees and lost it. The next time they just got
in a hurry and Kayden made a nil advice passed
so well.
Speaker 3 (01:21:52):
You just get that.
Speaker 4 (01:21:53):
I think that's one of the things hard to learn
when you've got to lead, How to finish, what's a
good shot, what's not? When to get in a hurry
and win?
Speaker 2 (01:21:59):
No, get a hurry when you got to lead, quick
hit or set for the musketeers out of the pine
out and again writes the chanty with another creative tough
shot and the mid range.
Speaker 3 (01:22:09):
But but he knocks it down. That's back to back
the tough shots. The lead US five now forty seven two.
Not too much dribbling here.
Speaker 2 (01:22:18):
Hawks has it, gives it up top the stone King,
stone King over to the left side. It's hamming back
to stone Jack, got drag hard to the middle, gets
it all the way to the living ladies. It in
Cooper stone King stores to push the lead back to
seventh boardy.
Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
Nice nice stop, but Cooper, that extra stuff got it
to lay in.
Speaker 2 (01:22:39):
One fifty three in counting to go in the game
elbow entry there to Harrington, he'll hand it off.
Speaker 3 (01:22:46):
That's gamming for three. Nice job.
Speaker 2 (01:22:48):
A box out of the mist shot by Millard, a
long bounce past, skip past the Hammon and Hammond just
goot handle. It's gonna lose it out of bounds and
I'm gonna turn it back over. So western to achieving
to green up here and we got a on the
dead ball, had a substitution. You're gonna have a whole
bring to turn to the lineup certainly see what one
(01:23:12):
was looking at. There was a long past gain time
and school and again you're up seven.
Speaker 3 (01:23:17):
You know, you know you that's a tough one. You
don't not worth the chance. But if he scores, it
was a great play.
Speaker 2 (01:23:25):
That comes green up calves by seven. Chantley has it
up top, wants to play off a ball screen from Harrington.
Now gives the Harrington on the pot well two men gaming,
hands it right back to Chantley. Hi history note, Buto
cocks for coffee with the red band. He's trapped in
the back court. Now throws it ahead the stone King.
(01:23:46):
Stone King brings it up, wisely brings it back out
the miller stone King has it. We're coming up on
one minute to play Calves by seven Green up only
at three team fives.
Speaker 3 (01:23:57):
Cock's gonna drive hard to the hole. Shot up no
good with.
Speaker 2 (01:24:00):
The foul, So fifty eight seconds to go, Cayden Cox
is going to go to the free throw line.
Speaker 3 (01:24:09):
In that case, Shane, you're getting double they're they're jumping
the ball.
Speaker 4 (01:24:13):
They're double team and so you you you can't delly
dally outside and let him double team.
Speaker 3 (01:24:18):
You gotta take it strong.
Speaker 4 (01:24:19):
And so that time, I think it's a good decision
by by Kayden to take it to the hole, and
he drew the foul.
Speaker 3 (01:24:24):
Certainly an aggressive move.
Speaker 4 (01:24:26):
Cox's first free throw is good, pushes the lead to
AID at fifty forty two.
Speaker 2 (01:24:34):
He'll get another gain just fifty eight seconds remaining. Second
free throw is good, fifty one full time out on
the floor.
Speaker 3 (01:24:48):
We'll take it with it.
Speaker 2 (01:24:49):

As they go through the grieving process, the Heller family
continues to remember sharing Hell with the area's largest, most

(01:25:30):
selecting how her funeral home ensures their tribute will be
just as unique. How her funeral home helping families remember,
share and heal.
Speaker 2 (01:25:41):
Welcome back Chila Coffee fifty one gring up forty two
or less than a minute to play as the Cavs
try to get back in the win column.
Speaker 3 (01:25:47):
Here this sevening coach Beard uses that time out.
Speaker 2 (01:25:51):
After Cox stocks down two free throws, try to make
sure everybody's on the same page. Offensively, Silkafie only was
three teen fouls green Up with four, So from this
point forward Chilikafi will shoot two. But on the defensive side,
Chilicoffy is still with the file to give gam and
brings it, pushes hard, give his way to acting. Greenup's
(01:26:13):
got to go quickly. Here pack to Harrington one of
the three and now drives hard to the right hand
and he loses it out of bounds. They're gonna say,
Chilicoffee got a piece of it as exploit the double.
Speaker 3 (01:26:24):
Team, and Greenham's gonna keep possession.
Speaker 4 (01:26:26):
But the mine went off the Greenhom's knee, but must
get Jared's will keep it. Forty five seconds to play
in the game.
Speaker 2 (01:26:35):
Obi under opportunity all the way out top gam and
he'll try a deep three no good, pretty good box
out there for Viager and they're going to say green
Um knock the out of bounds from behind.
Speaker 3 (01:26:47):
So Chili Coaffee with the ball in the full court
situation and.
Speaker 4 (01:26:51):
Make sure he gets somebody in the middle here, Greenup,
you're gonna obviously pick up full court. Miller now comes
across the top line on the running jump, accepts the trap,
give way to stone Kin, stone Chin retreat rebbled, he's trapped.
Now Cox with a good job flashing middle Fox all
the way down to twenty three. Greenop's kind of foul
(01:27:12):
and they finally do twenty one point five. I thought
green Up with a lot a lot of.
Speaker 3 (01:27:15):
Coalk that's won, did a good job.
Speaker 4 (01:27:21):
You get double triple team and somehow got out of it,
got the ball to Cooper. Cox's gonna go back to
the line where he just made two on the night.
Speaker 3 (01:27:29):
Let's see one, two, three, four or five is what
I have the sophomore on the night from the line.
First free throw is good. Oh, Shane, I'll say we
shot nineteen last night. Guess somebody, this is it nineteen
for this one. Good job. It shows you getting to
get into the line taking the bottle of the hole. Cox.
(01:27:51):
Second free throw in and out, no good. That comes
green up.
Speaker 2 (01:27:56):
Chanley will rise up for three Chilikte owls for three
point shooter shot no good.
Speaker 3 (01:28:03):
But Bryce Chandley is going to go to the line
and shoot three. I feel for coach Beard. I think
he's trying to compose himself down here to my left.
Speaker 4 (01:28:15):
Okay, he was yelling no three, and then you know Cooper,
I could Ready's left. Cooper said, oh my goodness, but
you just can't get close to the guy.
Speaker 2 (01:28:29):
First free throw is good. Chandley's going to get two
more so if he if he wouldn't make both. The
closest they can get on this free throw situation, V
seven should still.
Speaker 3 (01:28:40):
Be a three possession game. Let's see how it goes here.
Second free throw, no good. So fifty two forty three
one more. Obviously on a make. You got to be
ready for press breaker on the mist You got to
expect a.
Speaker 2 (01:28:53):
Lot of contact. Gotta be strong here in the box.
Out third free throw, no good. Miller comes down the
whip it. But Holbrook came down to whippe. Then it's
going to be a jump ball situation.
Speaker 4 (01:29:04):
You know, I didn't understand there stone King was down
under on the free throws and hamm and your rebounder
was outside, and understand got lined up there.
Speaker 3 (01:29:12):
Maybe I had needed hamming down under. So fifty two
forty three grand Up's possession. They go out top.
Speaker 2 (01:29:20):
Damon's going to try a deep free shot, No good
rebound by ten, one block out of bounds there by Badger.
So again grand Up was stock possession. But all the
way down to nine point nine now and on the
clock now until happy up nine.
Speaker 3 (01:29:37):
Corner on the screen. I think we had a foul.
I think we had Badger fighting through the screen here.
I might maybe get cam out of the game here
twenty three White think we've got a time. I will
(01:29:58):
stay here.
Speaker 2 (01:29:59):
Fifty two forty three chilicothe great, did you get clarification?
Speaker 3 (01:30:03):
And what they was? It was a foul on Badger? Yeah,
I think he fought through the pick. Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:30:08):
What I was watching was there was a conversation afterwards.
I think that's why Pat was. He's got Cam over
here saying, look, you it's late in the game, and
maybe you didn't foul. Just keep your mouth shut, don't
say anything.
Speaker 3 (01:30:22):
But I'm not sure what you feel.
Speaker 4 (01:30:23):
I think it was a foul, but it would it
was not the fifth foul, I don't think right fourth that.
Speaker 3 (01:30:27):
Should have been Chilli Cofee's fourth foul of hot mistaken.
Speaker 1 (01:30:33):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:30:33):
But I should be fine because they had filed the
free one there as well, so you know, fifty two
forty three, you know, Chilicothe something just crazy happens here.
Shouldn't get out of here with the wind tonight it
hasn't been perfect, but that there's been a lot of positives,
a lot of good bouncebag the defensive end, a lot of.
Speaker 3 (01:30:54):
You know, other things we did tonight.
Speaker 4 (01:30:55):
The calves is I can think of four or five
times where we would two point once the greenup caught up.
Speaker 3 (01:31:02):
We've got to head five or six they cut up.
We've got to head seven or eight they caught up.
Speaker 4 (01:31:06):
But we answer each time, and we didn't, you know,
maybe it was easy to say oh no, but but
tonight we answered and kept getting the lead back up
to seven, eight points and up to nine.
Speaker 2 (01:31:15):
Right now, so Actins out of the time out. Bradley
Akins will be at the free flow line.
Speaker 4 (01:31:21):
This first free throw is no good, so the muskets
Heers have given away a lot of offers.
Speaker 2 (01:31:28):
Free throw line up. A fourth quarter second free throw
no good, and Actin gets his own rebound as the
free throw shooter. So still going to be Greenup basketball.
Luckily they haven't converted on any of these, and Chilipafee
still leads fifty two.
Speaker 3 (01:31:44):
To forty three.
Speaker 2 (01:31:45):
Our top channel. He'll try a three, no good rebound.
Harns then shot back no good. Stone King will come
down with the rebound in the hole on the town.
It's a learning night for the Chilipofee Cavaliers.
Speaker 3 (01:31:57):
Fifty two forty three over green Up. Stay worth us.

Welcome back to Chilicopee High School.
Speaker 2 (01:34:52):
Shank Holmes and Grake Vickham here on the postgame action
of a wedding night for Chilicopee as they beat Green
Up fifty two to forty three.
Speaker 3 (01:35:01):
And good Greg.
Speaker 2 (01:35:02):
We talked about in the pregame just the importance of
VAM we get right back at it after a heartbreaker
last night, and as I was saying there before the break,
certainly not perfect, but certainly won chili.
Speaker 3 (01:35:14):
Coffee he needed. I was glad to see him get it. Yeah,
it was an important win.
Speaker 4 (01:35:18):
Wasn't the conference win, but after losing the last two
conference games fifty four fifty two, playing hard last night,
and we talked we left last night, it's gonna be
some mental toughness tonight to get back at it.
Speaker 3 (01:35:30):
Didn't use a lot of people. Again.
Speaker 4 (01:35:31):
You got to admire these kids in the shape there,
and they played hard again and only went went sixty pitchings,
play a little bit as a seventh man, but pretty
much six guys and they out last Green to get
to win tonight. And you're right, I think it's a
good win for him coming up with a busy week.
Speaker 2 (01:35:46):
As as I look down through my scoring, which i'll
give here in a little bit, it seemed to me
the three ball there in the third quarter started to
play roles to talk to us about the numbers over
all tonight and what favored the Cavaliers.
Speaker 3 (01:35:59):
Well, one time Hammlin got red high. They were six
of twelve.
Speaker 4 (01:36:02):
They missed their last two threes there at the end
of the game, but wound up six of fourteen. That's
a great percentage from the three point line. I had
them ten of twenty four on their two point fueld
goal attempts and totally had that up. They shot forty
two percent on the night, going sixteen of thirty eight.
(01:36:22):
And the other thing we talked about nineteen foul slots
last night, they were thirteen of nineteen from charity stripe
tonight fourteen of nineteen.
Speaker 3 (01:36:30):
They won the game by nine points.
Speaker 4 (01:36:32):
They outscored Greenup by nine at the foul line Greenup,
I had them sixteen of forty from the two points
and they were only two out of thirteen. Now, they
threw up a lot of threes trying to catch up
in that final three minutes, so you got to add
that in. But I had them only two out of
thirteen for the three point line tonight. So the Calves
outscored them by twelve from the three point line outscored
(01:36:55):
them by nine from the charity stripe. There were two
big parts of the ballgame. I thought, well, think you
give about forty three points?
Speaker 2 (01:37:02):
And I thought maybe on the negative side, philipath he
turned it over a little bit which allowed Greenabout and
have the court. But the biggest positive of the night
has to just be the overall defensive effort in terms
of holding him to forty three. First, yeah, they did.
They did a good job, and I thought they especially
early on. Then Greenham got had gone a little bit.
But I thought we did a better job as the
(01:37:22):
game went on. Maybe we got better matchups.
Speaker 4 (01:37:24):
I wasn't noticed, in shame, but I thought we did
a better job as the game went on not allowing penetration.
Speaker 2 (01:37:29):
No, I agree, And if you take a look at
the scoring here, you highlighted it there in your totals.
Andrew Hammond, with an outstanding night, had him unofficially here
for twenty two points.
Speaker 3 (01:37:40):
That might be his career high.
Speaker 2 (01:37:42):
Okay, so he had made good on four triples on
his way to that twenty two. Kate and Cox had
two dunks this see evening five to seven from the
free throw line. He finished with thirteen points. Those are
the two Cavaliers and double figures, with Cooper stone King
just missing him with eight. He hit two three pointers
(01:38:03):
and then it was four for Cam Badger, all on
free throws, four for four.
Speaker 4 (01:38:07):
And then three for Miller and two for car tay Ligan.
I thought that was a big bucket of that he
hit when he it was that was when they were
coming back and he got a big bucket. I think
maybe they've gotten it down to three. Put us back up.
Speaker 2 (01:38:20):
So again hamm in twenty two cos thirteen, stone King eight.
Add it all up there. That's fifty two for the
winning Cavaliers. Over on the green up side point the
Casey Gammon had fifteen and Bryce and Chanley had thirteen.
All thirteen of those came in the second half, and
it was nine for Atkins, four for Harrington, and two
(01:38:42):
for Holbrook. And again that's for forty three. Look back
score by quarters. Chilicothe great start fourteen to five. Green
Up kind of responded in the second quarter and chill
Cooffee led only eighteen sixteen and half time. Third quarter
as we've highlighted here, because it was a big push
for Chilicothee at the end of that quarter they let
it thirty six through thirty.
Speaker 3 (01:39:04):
And then they go on to winning fifty two to
forty three.
Speaker 2 (01:39:07):
We'll step away for a quick time out, hopefully get
a chance to get Coach Beard out here to talk
to him about his winning night for the Cavaliers.
Speaker 3 (01:39:13):
This is Shank Holmes, a great biggot.

Speaker 3 (01:41:37):
Greg. When we come in, we get a great seat.
Speaker 2 (01:41:39):
Right here next to all the action and here in
the postgame, it's a winning night for Chilicothee fifty two
forty three over grain up waiting for Coach Beard to
come out. But why we do there, Greg is the
win moves chilicoffee to five and eight and this starts
a stretch where they're going to play five times in
eight days. So they still got four games left here
in that stretch I'm referring to. Good news is three
(01:42:02):
more of them at home, and maybe this can jump
start something. We talked about that last night and how
they really needed a bounce back. They get it coming
into the next week. You feel like this could be
something that they get another home game on Tuesday, maybe
maybe some momentum going.
Speaker 3 (01:42:16):
To Cavs Wat.
Speaker 4 (01:42:17):
Yeah, and then you know, the drawings not too far off,
so they'd like to get on a roll. So and
you know they've got a chance. You know, I still
think they got a chance to get back to five
hundred if if they can keep us on a roll.
They one positive thing tonight we talked about it is
they were able to They gave up the lead a
couple of times, but they were able to answer back
(01:42:39):
and get back on top and I thought they played
pretty smart.
Speaker 3 (01:42:41):
A couple got a little hurry towards at the end.
Speaker 4 (01:42:44):
They had an eleven point lead, it got down to seven,
But they're learning and I thought it was a big
win for him tonight. You know, in the free game
we were talking about I know I mentioned that this
team on any night Tuesday night at the Buzz against
Jackson Van Miller let him in double fake. They come
back last night and Cooper stone King gets in the
twenties to lead him. Tonight Andrew Hammond is in the
(01:43:06):
plus twenty column and he leads them. And I think
they've got that kind of team that on night it's
not dependent. I think normally Cayden Cox, he seems to
every game now have eleven, fourteen, fifteen. So when you
get that big guy with the big scoring and then
you add the second guy, I think that's the recipe
for success for him and maybe they can they keep
(01:43:28):
carrying it on. I think they realize it doesn't take
one guy that they need to be patient, see who's
got the hot hands, see who's got the best matchup,
And I think they're doing a better job of that now.
Speaker 2 (01:43:37):
Well, one thing I'd love to ask coach Bear tonight
is you know one thing he's balancing is they have
started to play really with five guys that are probably
more comfortable facing the basket and playing a little bit
on the perimeter, and he's trying to find some good balance,
particularly against his own and so forth on how Hammon
and Cox and Badger could still have some of those
perimeter opportunities while still diving into the post and giving
(01:43:59):
a little bit of an inside out presence. And I
think they they tried to really balance out. But tonight,
I think you see where and Andrew Hammond been able
to face the basket and get those feet set could
really be a weapon at the three point line. I
know that's something coming in the year you were high on,
so good to see him break out tonight.
Speaker 4 (01:44:15):
Well, his role has changed a bit, but tonight, and
I think I said that early on in the game,
I look, I think hamming because the one two two
normally a lot of times Andrew loft to shoot from
the corner, and they were able in It took him
a while, but in the second half. In any shooter, Shane,
you've been around and you've seen a lot of them,
especially Pink and you're around Pink Valley and.
Speaker 3 (01:44:34):
The SEVC too.
Speaker 4 (01:44:35):
But uh, any shooter when they get rolling, they're feeling
they see you feel that touch. Cooper felt that way
last night. It just came off his hand. He knew
it was going in. That's why Andrew tonight. But yeah,
he got some good looks in the corner. Part of
that is that then you get cocks and people driving.
They got into the middle and they were able to kick.
But against that one too, too, thought Andrew got some
(01:44:55):
good looks and once he made the first couple he
was feeling it.
Speaker 3 (01:44:58):
We talked about the four game games coming up.
Speaker 2 (01:45:00):
Two of those will be FAC get the makeup game
at Hillsborough on Wednesday and then next Friday night here
back at the Hat and with the Washington Courthouse. If
you look at the FAC standings, it's a little bit.
It's a little bit mixed up because of all the
cancelations and when those rescheduled games will fall. Miami trace
with that win here last night and proved to five
(01:45:22):
and one. Jackson beat McClean. So I have them at
five and one. Excose me Miami trades five and oh
Jackson at five and one a really good game last night,
Hillsborough wins a close one over Courthouse.
Speaker 3 (01:45:34):
So on my on my notes here, I've got Courthouse.
Speaker 2 (01:45:36):
Falling the three and four, Hillsborough improving the two and
three got two and three mark is where Chilla Coffee is.
McClean at oh and five, and again, keep in mind,
Chili Coffee only won two league games the entire year
last year.
Speaker 3 (01:45:47):
It's already at two and three.
Speaker 4 (01:45:49):
Again, coming into the year, we felt like that was
a pretty safe bet that they were going to improve
on that.
Speaker 3 (01:45:53):
I still feel real strong about that. Obviously, Miami Trace
up there at the top of Jackson. But obviously when
you look last.
Speaker 2 (01:46:00):
Two league games that we called fifty four fifty two
finals against Jackson Amimy Trace, it tells you that Chilla
Coffee's program is starting to close.
Speaker 3 (01:46:08):
The gap on the league.
Speaker 4 (01:46:09):
You agree with that, they're definitely closing the gap, and
they've been in every game, could easily only have the
one league lost. But again, it'll be a busy week
for him coming up, and I'm not sure Coach Beard
is going to come out, but it'll be a busy
week for him, and a lot of basketball will be
played this week, so we'll see they're going to have
to kind of come in and shoot around, not do
a lot of practice. They guts save their legs for
(01:46:30):
a lot of games this week.
Speaker 2 (01:46:32):
Well, as a coach myself, I know sometimes you get
stuck in the locker room talking to some kids there
a great how do you want to handle this? You
want to take one more short time out and give
him a chance, or you want to go in and
sign off.
Speaker 4 (01:46:41):
Let's tell you what, Let's get out of here. We'll
give coach Beard a break, let enjoy that win. Back
in there a little bit, and I think we covered
the game, and but I'm we're ready to go. Well,
we'll turn around and see right back on Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (01:46:54):
No question. So on that note, thank you Nathan for
all you do back in studio. Thank you Greg.
Speaker 2 (01:46:59):
This Shane Colmbe's final score for the final time. It's
a winning night for the Chilicopti Cavaliers fifty two to
forty three.
Speaker 3 (01:47:05):
So long everyone, Good night,
