Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time for Chilicothee High School basketball action on the
home of the Caps fourteen ninety wb e X powered
by Where Funeral Home, a Dina Health System and Holler
Funeral Home.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Hey, good evening, everyone, and welcome to the LSB. Hatton
Memorial Gymnasium here at Chilicopy High School. I'm Shane Colmes
alongside Greg Bigan, and we were sitting courtside at the
newly named Thomas M.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Cup at court and great. Great to be back with you.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
I know this Chilicopee team, you know, at four and
seven overall, two and two inside the fac certainly have
played a tough schedule, probably have left a little on
the table, but I know that we've been very optimistic
about the group and as we enter second half of
the league play here, I'm excited to see the improvements.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Give me your.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Thoughts first half Chilicothee Cavaliers this year.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
And on one side of it, and I don't know
if this is a I don't know how much of
a positive coach Beard might not agree, but to some
degree it's probably one of the best four and seven
teams around. I mean, they really not have comitted and
gotten blown out by hardly anyone.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
They've been in a lot of ball games.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
Even last week when I had the game Jackson, who's
currently second place in the FAC they lose by two,
came from eleven down tide the game with and guy
beating the final ten seconds.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
It's been that kind of year. I don't think they've.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
Played real well against Portsmouth, but uh, I don't know,
and Shane, we've talked a lot about it. I don't know,
if you can put your finger on one thing. Why
so close? They're pretty young. I think that's number one,
and I think they really they need a big win.
We were talking a moment ago, and I'm jumping to
not answering your question, but tournament time, they don't. They

(01:43):
don't have to go to Central District and play D
one this year, so they'd, like you said, second half
of the season, they've got a bit of a role
start playing. They've not played poorly, but if they can
get some wins, win some close games at the end,
I think that'll really say something when it comes tournament,
and when I think they'll match up well against a
lot of the teams out of the Southeast and East

(02:04):
that are.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Division three like them, well, taking a look at some
of the numbers here just to kind of illustrate your point.
You know, you talked about the you know, being maybe
better than the four and seven mark. You know, you
look at some of the losses at New Lex, at Warn,
at Marysville.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
At Miami Trace.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
This team we're going to see here tonight eleven and
O coming in hilliary Davidson. You mentioned the Jackson game
they lost where they give up to.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Two free throws late. There.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
It's it's a team on paper, not not very many
four and seven teams have a.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Plus differential, which they do.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
You know, they score fifty three and I only give
up fifty two, So they're obviously in every game, like
you said, maybe getting that signature win. I think this
was a team that was hurt, as all teams were.
This is a team that was hurt by the weather.
I thought they were starting to roll in certain areas
where some of that the breaks probably did not come
at the best time. But as you come in, what
an opportunity here tonight eleven and O.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Miami Trace team.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
You know, you go back on December seventeenth, Miami Trace
beat Chilicoffee fifty six forty seven you and I were.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Talking off there. We thought like that was a competitive
I was a closer game than the nine points. So
you're talking about a signature win. What better opportunity than
right here in fac.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Play trying to get the pattens popping as I like
this hatzy to get the crowd into a little bit.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
See I can come up with a big win. Huh,
you could get a huge win. You got greenom Kentucky
we know nothing about. But another home game tomorrow night.
You got two games with McLain coming up. But it's tough,
I know, especially at McClain there late in the season.
You got to go to Hillsboro and but all those
are wonnerable games and all of a sudden, you know,
four and seven, all of a sudden, you know, maybe

(03:40):
it's a it's a nine and eight record, it's a
ten and nine. You get a winning record going into
the term, and I think it could happen. I think
one of the things that I talked to coach Daniel
Sisson will not be coming back to the team. That
was one of their bit of inside presents, and had
they filled in for him.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Yeah, I thought, I think that.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Andrew Hammond is done a great job doing a lot
of the work inside because of his height inside as
well as we talk a lot about cam Badger where
it has hurt him and for Chillakathy, not having sism
is the bench. And we've said this almost every week.
Carte Legan, I can't wait to watch him play football
the next three years. But he's that kind of athlete

(04:20):
and he's gotten better and better. Hitchins has come in
the spells him that doesn't look much to shoot, but
I thought they're depth wise for Coach Beard, and you
look at games at the end, in.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Close games in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
I think that's part of it, Shane is is they're
just not very deep. And part of that is you
lose sism and it just drops your depth down by
by one big person. Give me your thoughts on the
six to sixth sophomore no matter as I've watched him
throughout the years JDM Varsity, I feel like his skill
sets improving, certainly a presence defensively. Is he someone that
can give Coach Beard a spark the second half the year.

(04:54):
He came in the other night and actually I looked
up against Jackson and they were down.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
They brought him in and he did.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
He had a block, and he had a couple of
big rebounds, and I think he made two free throws,
and so coach relied on him a bit.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Whereas back to that second week of the.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Season, Noah comes in as a as a young guy,
a sophomore, and probably just tries to blend in, you know.
Then he stepped up and yes, to answer your question,
is he going to score ten or twelve? But if
he comes in, he gets a couple of rebounds, gets
a couple of buckets, I think he can help him.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
He's gonna have to give him some depth. Well, you
look at the FAC is what's weird about the schedule
right now is when you go through weather and you
go through cancelations, not everybody cancels on the same night.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
Not everybody plays on the same night.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
So some of these games are going to be half
games in the win column, half games and the lost column.
So board the Miami Trace, as they said, comes in
four and zero and FAC play Jackson a half game
back at four and one, Washington Courthouse three and three,
Chili Coffee two and two, Hills Row one in three.
I understand they might have might be down a post player.

(05:58):
I was trying to get some more information on that.
We'll look into that. That game rescheduled is going to
be Wednesday night. We're hoping to put that on the air.
That'll be Wednesday night at hills Brough. That reschedule, I
mean McLean and oh and five and Greg, I bring
I bring the standings to the attention because I looked
back at last year's standings at well ChIL Coffee already
two and too. Chili Coffee went two and eight and
f they see play. So to illustrate again your point

(06:20):
in the opening, this is a team that's much improved
from a year ago. You really hope the fan base
and and and the overall studid body hangs with them,
because I still think their best basketball is ahead up.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
I don't think if you've come to a game and
watch Chill Kathy, you went home totally disappointed, like, man
we got blown out, or man, that team's just so
young or not very good. That they play an exciting brand,
and uh they they're not too far off, as you said,
they're not far off, and they need a couple maybe,
I don't know. Signature wins would be tonight obviously an
undefeated Miami face, but uh, they need I don't know

(06:54):
if it's confidence the right word. I think they have
some cup but I think that they can finish and
finish strong like they did. You had them to night
at Hillsboro and you said they were able to do
it that night. If they can get a few of
that and get down the stretch, down that final three
or four minutes of the game and come up with
a big shot and get it get a couple wins,
I think that'll be big fun.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Well, get around the fac tonight the Washington Courthouse is
going to visit hillsbro Jackson at McLean and of course
our game here Miami Trace at Chilicothe.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
We'll step away for a quick time. I will come
back and talk.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
A little bit more about specifically tonight's matchup against the
undefeated Miami Trace. Fancier Just Shane Colmebs and Greg big

course World Fight on Ihearten and you know, Greg, if
we dive deeper into the.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Matchup here, this sevening.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
Obviously Miami Trace very very talented, but we are saying
a lot of times you'll see eleven and other team
and you'll think, oh my goodness, hey has come out
and they just beat everybody to death, like twenty five
thirty points.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
That really hasn't been the case.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
It's a team that they know who they are, they
play a specific way, they use their big zone and
and probably what seven of those games are by ten
or last furth, So they won a lot of close
games too.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Give me a key tonight.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
For Chilicothy to try to put themselves in a position
to get this.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
One stop Guthrie.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
But but Guthrie's not the type of kid that it's
gonna shoot every time. It's almost I find the times
I've seen Miami Trace twice this year against Chilicoth. They
saw him against Circleville. Guthrie was setting a twelve, thirteen
points or whatever. And but down the stretch at Miami
Traced a lot of games when it's you know, it
was a two or three point game and they played
Circleville was like three or four point lead for him,

(09:45):
and it got down to crunch time and they said
we're going we're going to ride the big man and
he scores six eight points in a row. Guys, good luck,
and I'm interested to see how we I think we're
gonna need to hit some. There are Miami Trace you
mentioned this last time. They're athletic, they're long, and we

(10:05):
love to drive to the bucket. That's tough to do
against the team. It's a long team and a six
to seven guy standing under the bucket. I'll see how
they do. But bottom line, if we stay close, Guthri
can't just.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
Shoot turn around two footers.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
Well, I don't know how you stop me, but somehow
we can't give up those little two footers under the
bucket to guy at six to seven.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
That's well said and again should be a good one.
We're excited to bring it to you. We'll step away
one more time and we'll be back with tonight's starting lineups.

Speaker 3 (10:34):

Welcome back, Sheilicopee High School, Shane Holmes, Greg Vigam Here
fourteen to ninety w GaX Miami Trace Panthers come calling
this evenings here to the HoTT Memorial Gymnasium. And as
we said there in the opening, when Miami Trace comes
in with eleven and oh, Mark and four and O
inside fac play and let's go to the starting lineups,
and take a look at some of the matchups that

(13:00):
Greg and I were talking about throughout the pre game. First,
for your own Chillicothee Cavaliers, Coach Bearer to run them
out with senior point guard Ron Miller, sophomore guard Caden Cox,
three guard set, puts another junior guard in the backboard
with Cooper Stone team, and then on the front line
it's six to four sophomore Andrew Hammond and six to

(13:21):
three senior Cam Badger Again for Coach Beard, that's Miller, Cox, Hammond, Stone,
King and Badger. Over on the Miami tray side are
expected starters. Freshman point guard Gage Bwers, a six footer,
does a nice job running the show for the Panthers,
very athletic and Julian Baker six to three sophomore. Then

(13:41):
they have a pair of six four seniors that play
the forward position and Sky Silers and Trey Robinette. And then,
of course, as we highlighted in the pre game, the
six seven junior Adam Guthrie.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
One more time for Miami.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Trace that's Fowers, Baker, Sowers.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
Robin and gut Thrie and Greg.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
When you hear those names, what jumps out at me
is when they stretch out on that two three zone
across that bottom line six four six four sixty seven.
The three point shot was really important for Chilicoffee last time.
I think it will be a tonight. But a lot
of times don't you agree. It's understanding in your game plan. Ay,
what's a good three? What's the proper time for the three?

(14:23):
How can we get the inside out look out if
to make sure we're shooting high percent?

Speaker 3 (14:27):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (14:27):
Those seen so many times. You hear people know a
lot more basketball and gave me on the TV in
a college game and they talk a lot about you
go inside.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
That's tough.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
We talked about six four sixty five six seven, But.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Sometimes you got to go in and income back out.
You know, you just have one pass to.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
The wing and a fade away three doesn't get it.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
And that's all you're talking about. Absolutely, whether they turn
the lights off there and the student section well into
it with the spot light there they announced Philipoffee Cavaliers.
Good atmosphere here this seven. See if Chili Cooffee can
use that to it's advantage. It off the good start.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
It's the job at bottom night.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Evidently with the students.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
Thinking back the fifty years ago and I played our
high school principal, Westfall would have went. He would have
just went berserk, start paddling people for wearing pajama.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
I did it.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
It was a different time, but.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
You've talked a lot about it, a lot of enthusiasm.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Here Cox versus Flowers on the jump ball and it
goes Miami TRACE's way. As Miami Trace comes out in
their black roade uniforms with the gold numbers, and they'll
have first possession. Here downloaded Guthrie on the block. They
look the double. He just bullies his way in and
lays it in.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
Just like that.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Adam Guthrie gets a score and start at two. Nothing
Miami trades.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
Cam did only could he just got like garden of Bulldozer.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Cholic Coffee in the home whites with the blue lettering
working left or right is the way, Greg, and I'll
call for you here this evening against that zone. As
we expected, Jil Coffee will stretch it out a little
bit right to swing it go use badger in and
out of the middle. There now him and has a
right corner. It's actually Cocks on the baseline working a
little bit, trying to get some good movement here as

(16:11):
we hear from the bench inside out, pretty good patient
possession here for Chilicoffee.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Badri drives Baselin got cotton. Heir turned it over exactly.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
They got cot in the air, had nothing to do
with it and turned it over. That comes to Miami
trace and Sour's out top and he's going to go
right back down the guff there Guthrie guarded by Badrit.
I'm gonna kick it out Bowers. He'll drive right side,
kick it over to Bakery. Baker extreme in the athletic
assault man.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
He is very athletic.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
Back out the Bowers and now to look over to
the bench again. Foughts and prayers to coach Ben Ackley's family.
He's unable to coach and I don't know a Brian Southward.
Travis Kelly is his assistant staff doing the job. So
again want to send our thoughts to him. Download of
guphree and he goes to work and up against Bader.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
One more time, lays it in.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
This time I'm going to be called for the file
and again two two straight possessions.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Greg just way way too deep to Lalla a kit
of that talent the ball.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
But that's that's a well coached team. You know, they
know their strength.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
They're not in a hurry.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
They worked it around and they go, hey, we're gonna
ride with the guys. Carry could carry you along away
and take it inside.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Guthrie's free throw good, So five nothing Miami Trace. Guthrie
obviously just a junior, still has a senior football season ahead,
getting a ton of looks at some of the highest
Division one football schools. And you could see why when
you see a size and then you see his skill
and foot footwork here on the basketball court almost look
like he I won't say slimmed down, but you can

(17:41):
tell he's really worked in the weight room.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
He's just solid. Beside being dick against his own stone
king penetrates, kicks it.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
Right corner Miller, he'll try a three ball and he
got it one. Miller shot the ball extremely well over
at Miami Trades. Knocked down three breeze that night, and
the senior gets chili coffee on the board.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Here cuts the Miami Trace five to three.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
Miller led the Calves un scoring the other night that
two point lost to Jackson.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
This time Til cooffee'll front the post Bill bob it
over the top of the guth three week sided late
to get there. Another bucket seven three Miami Trays that
comes Chilicothe stone King has it on the right side
up top. It's Hammond stone King and Hammer will play
a little catch back.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
And forth to move the zone.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
Now Pops has it high left point into the right corner.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Miller.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
He'll try one more three, this time too strong rebound
siers of.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
Miami Tase and he'll look the push.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Seven to three Miami Trace five twenty first quarter left wing.
It's Powers. He'll try a three, no good rebound Guthrie
and he puts it back in good.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
Time.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
Out was a short one. We'll stay here and and
so far Greg Adam Guthrie just having his way. He
has all nine of Miami Tracy's points and they lead.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
At nine to three. Guthrie nine Calves three.

Speaker 4 (18:51):
And uh, you know when we went over, I think
we got it in Miami Trace. That was the first
night that the Calves didn't have sism to football off
the football field sixth maybe sixty three, but built and
I think the Calves have adjusted well not to have
and Daniel's not on the team anymore, but nobody plays
hard and cam badger Ham and we talked about, you know,

(19:14):
looks like he's grown an instance the season began, but
they're just no match physically for Guthrie and he's just
establishing position on the low block that time the rebound
and they call time out.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
I'm not sure what you do, but they tried to
play behind him the first two times they were digging
down that last, and then they tried to front and
they went over the top. And then that time he
just went to the offensive last. So again he shows
off a lot of the different skill set and as
you said, very disciplined group understanding where they want to
put the ball out of the time out, tilicop and
basketball Miller walks it up, comes right point to stone

(19:48):
King down on the corner. It's Cammon pack out top
stone King.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
They'll swing it all the way around, ends up.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
In the left corner, the Cox trying to stretch the
zone out a little bit and see if they could
work into the middle. Cox of the flash that it
down to he's tied up, no good, but a foul much.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
Better job of cutting to the middle there.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Once they got the zone stretched out and they'll get
to the free throw line as a result.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
Yeah, they pretty much are playing around the passing around
the penmenal We've talked about that.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
But they did get a.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
Cox on a cut through the lane, got him the
ball and he's fat and they'll shoot two.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Caden Cox six, three, sophomore, the lefty. First free throw,
no good, almost almost like a flex action whether when
they stretch that zone out. They scream the baseline and
Cox comes flashing into the middle. It's a good look,
gets the free throw line. Let's see if he can
convert the second one second one's up and it is good.

(20:43):
So Caden Cox will cut the lead the nine to four.
Just over three minutes into this one, Sours will walk
it up for Miami trays. Bowers has it on the
left side.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
He's just a freshmed Bowers. He's pretty good looking, freshion.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Out top robbingette back to Bowers. Now, Guthrie will dive
into the middle. Siwers will try a three no good
rebound Miller and he'll come out pushing the head of
the stone King.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Stone King to the left hand, dribble kicks it left corner.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Cox will try a three, no good him and will
run down the offensive rebound to give the paves another
possession and Cox will bring it out up while the
jump circle and reset.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
Looks back to coach Beard to get the play.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Gives away the stone King. Stone King and Miller up
top of a two guard set again. They're trying to
stretch it out and Badger's working the middle there. Cox
has it right corner, Miller to stone King, the ham
and all the way around now underneath the Cox a
nice look at it. Couldn't get it the finish over
the size of Guffery and out comes fin any trace

(21:49):
with the rebound. Bowers pushes left side, robbing at Robbinette.
Wanted Guphrie, couldn't get it to him. Give back to
Bowers and no reset right side. Siwars right in front
of the Chili Cooffee student section skips a cross court.
Bowers back up top Robinette, Chili Cooffee doing a pretty
good job on Gufrie. Bowers shot fake penetrates to the baseline,

(22:11):
dishes off the Guthrie shot.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
No good fight for the loose.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Fall out of bounds goes back to Chiliki fell pretty
good possession for the Cavaliers there containing the basketball. For
the most part, Guthrie did get the look, but not
nearly the clo we.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
Got a hand in his face and he kind of
had him in the air and he couldn't connect on well.
The last time now Cox had a great look, but
even though Guthrie wasn't there and he's back inside again.
Even though Cox got inside, Guthrie didn't block a shot.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
But I think Kanen was thinking about him, don't you.
I agree, So the one side on the power moved
and go that time they get it to him again
block shot out of bounds. Chili coaffee'll have it underneath
its own basket into the corner of Hammond, guarded closely
by sours now out stone King on the left rain
he'll try at three, and he dialed it up much

(23:01):
need at Greeball Cooper. Stone King did not score in
that contest. Over on December seventeenth at Miami Trace, and
obviously his offense from the perimeter much needed against the
zone nine to seven Miami Trades. Robinette left wings down
to the baseline to Guthrie, skips it over the top,
the Boers back out the Chilicothe doing a pretty good

(23:23):
job of not letting to dribble into the middle. Bowers
has it right wing, tries to throw it down the
baker and throws it away. Really good back to back
possessions for Chilicothe defensively.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
As Clark A.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
Liggan checks into the game, taking his first appearance. He'll
replace Badger ninety seven Miami Trace two thirty eight, first quarter,
Shane Coombe's Greg Vigam Chili Cooffee Boys Basketball here on WBX.
Glad to have you on this Friday night. Miller across
the timeline gives the stone can bike over the miller.

(23:55):
The two guards will pass it back and forth, trying
to move the zone they want. Liggan inside can get
it to him just yet, how Ham and trapped in
the corner, comes back out.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
The miller throws the diet into the Cocks, who.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
Turns down the three drives baseline a little up and under.
Its outstanding and finished through the lefty sophomore. Cox has
three and we're tied at nine. I came right back
two minutes first quarter as Bowers brings it up right side,
wants to go download to Guphrey. Good ball pressure. They
went to Robin that in the corner. Had Guphrey in

(24:29):
the post, but give a good deflection there out of
bounds to keep Guphery from getting the touch. So to
be Miami Trace basketball on an Obi under Bowers will
be the inbound man.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
He'll throw it all.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
The way out top sours, sours, download to Guphery. He's
surrounded by about three white jerseys.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
Cart Living doing a great job. Body up, gives a way.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
To Robin that he'll shot up no good, ham and
fighting for the rebound and all sorts of contact. The
ball did fall out of bounds off hand Chilikithe I
think wanted a little contact there. They're letting him play on.
And so to be Miami Trace ball one more time
on the Obi under.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
The tracing him in there, hanging all over Guthrie.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
Bit right off the endbound end of the Guthrie spind
move shot no good, offensive rebound, got three shot, no good.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
Baker gets it back and puts it in.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Julian Baker, the athletic sophomore that we were highlighting, gets
a put back basket, puts Miami Trace back up eleven nine.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
One two first quarters. Back home, the Cavaliers.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
Still working against his own stone King up top. He's
way to Miller now left corner. Cocks back out Miller.
Good patience here for chilikythe they'll swing it around. It's
like a four out one end set. And what they'll
do is they'll die from the corner. Just time to
get him and on that dive, the little jump hook
into the middle. Good Andrew Hammond working from the corner.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
Into the open spot of the zone.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
Good look there, his little jump hook ties us back
at eleven. As we've come under one minute from here
in the opening quarter, Bowers walks it up dribble entry,
right wing, goes to the corner to robbing that, trying
to get Guphree down there on the block, robbing that
from the corner. History all the way in and out.
Stone King of Chilicoffee with the rebound. Let's see if

(26:17):
Chili Coaffee wants the last shot of the quarter. Stone
King on the drive, cuts through the trap up and
under moved falls.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
Short on the lay up. Out comes Miami trades Bowers
with it. On the left wing. He drives the baseline
his little runner. No good.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Cocks of Chilicoffee with the rebound, and we've got a
file that's gonna take it the other way. You've got
guh one.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
Twenty five point.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
Three on the clock, eleven to eleven to chilicope this
time that they can get the final Yeah, I would
take the final shot, especially against his own I agree,
I agree. I think they will great opportunity to survive
a quick start. Here for Miami Trace stone King has
it on the left side, clock kicking at thirteen twelve.
Stone King back up top. Coach Beard likes where they're at.

(27:07):
They're ready to go. Now, Miller put back to stone King.
He has it up top back right side. It's Miller
Miller dribbler. So the baseline gives up the hamm'd and
he lays it in to beat the clock. In Chillicoonley
will take a thirteen to eleven lead. That's the official
signals good outstanding finished for the in the first quarter.
ChIL Cooffee thirteen Mindy Trace eleven. You're listening to Chili

Welcome back to Chilicoffee High School. It was a fast
start for Miami Trace as they jumped out to a
nine to three advantage. Give coach Beard credit on the
time out there, Greg as he was able to get
him settled down. Chilicoffie responds well and with that ham
and a jump hook to beat the buzzer. Jill Cooffe
now leads at thirteen eleven. Give us your thoughts first

(28:25):
quarter or anything the numbers tell you does.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
Agreed, great comeback.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
As you said early on, it was like, oh my goodness,
we can't stop Guthrie.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
But came back.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
I thought they really did a good job being patient
and finding that open on the short baseline against the zone.
Couple of times. Why may Trace five of thirteen from
the field they were zero for two from the three
point line. Cavaliers shootover fifty percent five of nine and
they were two of four from the three point line,
so they shot the ball pretty well.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
Certainly take that as ChIL coffee.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
With the two point lead and the basketball to start
second quarter, Plug tried a little ball screen and roll
off Miller and Liggan. Miller tried to thread the needle.
Miami Trace. The last to touch it knocks it into
the Miami Trace. Cheerleaders there for the chilichape ball on
the ob under opportunity and I think of Fish will
want some uniforms tucked in there.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
So they got all that taken care of.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
And chilicopis a little high triangle set a little bit
of a screen to screen or type action. They'll come
out top the Ligan Ligan one on one against Gufphery
wanted to go with his quickness off the dribble, but
lost the dribble. Out comes Mimi Trace with to turnover.
Bowers will bring it back out top and reset Boers
left side, Robinette back the Buyers. He comes off the

(29:40):
ball screen from Guffhery on the roll. They want to
get Guphery in the middle again, pretty good job of
a front behind for chilicothe Is. They stretched out in
a little bit of a zone here, trying to take
away Guphrie's touching Robinette left wing three point or no
good up high for the defensive rebound. His cocks and
dribbles it out. Pressured by nice little spin move to

(30:01):
protect the ball, but so hours coming from behind, Cox
didn't see him, knocks it away.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Out comes Bowlers with the turnover.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
Miami Trace looking to push, robbing that baseline, dumps it
off to Guffrie his his layup.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
No good outcomes Stone him with the rebound. Good stop
for ChIL Coffee.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
They stabbed the two point lead and the basketball him
and right corner three no good, and we had a
foul here.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
I think they're gonna get Miami.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
Trace maybe fighting through the stream before the shot. Baker,
I believe is trying to get the ham and Greg
and I think they called him for the push before
the shot.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
Even went up.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
So no shot.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
It'll be a common.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
Fowl in Chili Coffee basketball.

Speaker 4 (30:44):
On the baseline, Guphriy made his what first three or
four shots, and he's missed his last three or four.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
Cox going hard to the rim there on the ob
under gets it. Jump hook is short. Mimi Trace with
the rebound out comes robbing that Bowers will push ahead
Sower's right corner. Three no good. Fight for the loose ball.
Robinette had it as he puts it down, Badger knocked
it away and the loose ball.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
I guess even robin etten got a shot up.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
But the loose ball is going to go out of
bounds and it's going to go back over to Chilicoffee's
got great effort for Chilicoffee to stay with it defensively
there So thirteen eleven Chili Coffee, six point thirty so far.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
Miami Trace oh for four from the three point line.
So right now they're not shooting the ball real well
and their points are coming inside.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Give way to Biger.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
Miami Trace playing a little bit of a man with
Guthrie just being soft.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
In the middle. Badger tried to attack him. Shot up,
no good.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
How comes Miami Trace with a transition opportunity sours shot.
No good. Bowers with the rebound, he dribbles it back out.
Baker now has it on the right side. Baker in
the right corner wants to get it in the Guthrie
and he does. He's surrounded by three Chilicothee cavaliers and
he drops down some scores.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
Gonna be the file.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Chili Coffee wanted the hook and instead I think they're
gonna give Guthrie the shot.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
And the and one opportunity.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
Let's see who they got there with Badger I believe
in the final. So Guthrie the shot is good. He
is also going to go to the line for the
old fashioned free We're tied at thirteen, who have a
free throw opportunity to put Miami Trace back in front.

(32:29):
Free throw is good fourteen thirteen. Guthrie already with twelve
twelve and they're fourteen and stone King will bring it
up for Chilicoffee again. Miami Trace coming out of the
zone and matching up here. Kind of seen them do
that a lot this year. Bager on the drive behind

(32:49):
the bike, Whitaker into the game for Miami Trace, matched
up with him, Pops up top and Cartay Legan was
trying to set a boss.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
I think you did so a little too aggressively.

Speaker 4 (33:02):
Does a good call. He tried to set the screen.
He moved officials standing right there and called it, so
all will go back to Miami Trace. They have the
one point lead, missed the opportunity.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
For chilicoffee there, but they trailed by just one at
fourteen thirteen, five point thirty to go first half, and
the freshman Bowers will walk it across the timeline, the
chill Coffee in his own inside the Bakers. They get
in the Mills zone. Here'shot up, no good. He gets
his own rebound and puts it right back up and
in ChIL Coffee dodged the bullet within missing the first one,
but then I'm gonna able to box out in the

(33:36):
sophomore and makes good on the second opportunity.

Speaker 3 (33:39):
Back comes Chilicothe Stone King has it on the right.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
Wing, looks to go one on one and again Whitaker
gets a little handsy there on the hand check and
it's called for the file.

Speaker 4 (33:50):
Interesting stats, Shane, and I know what this will tell you.
Miami Trace has put up twenty one shots. Cavaliers have
put up eleven.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Well, and a little bit of that's the offensive rebound
down here on the one end a couple of times,
and they kept getting the rebound, putting it back up
and back up.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
But yeah, a.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
Little bit of that soccer terminology that shots on goal
you don't mean.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
More likely to go in.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
Stone King kind of trates, kicks it out left corner,
pretty good look for him and free ball no good
out comes. Miami Trace with the reband Bowers will look
to bring it up.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
He's met there by the top of that chilicoth. He's
only goes download to Whittaker, who puts.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
It up and then they just lost him on the
baseline and Kate Whittaker got loose in it scores the
basketball eighteen thirteen Miami trays. Stone King pitches the cocks
out left point to Hammond, back out top.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Stone King will try.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
To free and he got it. Cooper stone King has
made good on both his three point or attempts.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
He has six and.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
He cuts the Miami Trace lead to two at eighteen sixteen,
four fifteen left in the first half. Bowers has it
across the timeline and he's holding it out top with
back at the bench. Jilli cofie into two three and
Chili cooffee. Seems just fine. To let the flock tick
here a little bit. Let's see how long Miami Trade
Dow will go with it. Whitaker on the right wing

(35:12):
elbow entry the Baker he turns, goes one on one
against the zone, lost it as he tried to kick
it out and out comes Badger with the steel. Nice job,
chillicothee defense. Don't King will look the push. It goes
all the way down left corner to him and I
out top to Bager and he was hit there by
robbing atte and we're gonna have a foul. I'll be
the fourth Miami Trace team foule. So the're not going

(35:34):
to go this time, but for the final three forty
two great Chili Coopie going to get.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
A chance to shoot two on every file. The hours
returns for Bakers.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
Hey, Miami Trace does he they're well coach. They did
a nice job that time. They took their time. They
moved around till they got Baker at the high post.
Ran a high low, but he's the most athletic. Gave
them the ball to the high post and he wound
up turning it over. But just each time they're walk coached.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
Stone King trying to enter it down on the the
right corner to Badger is knocked out as Ron Miller
will return to the lineup for Chilipope.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
He'll replace Badger, so.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
Miller, stone King, Ligging, Cox and Hammon. The five on
the floor for Chilipipe right now him bound to ligging,
he turns and looks to go one on one cutoff
on the baseline. You're trying to get him back out.
The stone King picked off by.

Speaker 3 (36:30):
By hours.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
Fours left side, robbing up for three shot. No good
gu Thrie with the offensive rebound. He gets two cavaliers
and he just spends and lays it in. Adam Gupree
just having his way here in the first half one
to sixteen m he chased by four three minutes to
play here before halftime, Miller right side, stone King thought

(36:55):
about the three now back out the Miller and the
baseline official. I think he called three second.

Speaker 4 (37:03):
Cart caught a said Carte's foot was into that sometimes
they sometimes though, I mean, if you're standing in the
middle of the lane, but if your foot is like
six inches in the lane, they normally nobody called Carte
for it.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
So a call you don't see as much, not a line,
even though anymore it's still there and it's still gotta
be You've got to be aware of it. So two
fifty to go first half, Miami trace by four. With
the basketball. Bowers with that dribble entry to the right side,
now give his way to Whitaker. Guthrie out of the
line up here, Baker has it on the right wing

(37:41):
up top. Sour thought about the penetration cut off by
Miller and Stone team. They'll bring it back out and
again tempo slowing a little bit on the Miami tracing.
Whittaker has it at the high post, putting Bowers down low.
Had a chance at the rim, but he brings it
back out. How Sours on the cut down the middle

(38:02):
shot up no good, bigg enough chili coffee comes out
with the rebound. He'll look the push all the way
to the rim. Oh oh, I ain't even gonna lose it.
But athletic at least somehow keeps it and lays it
in Carte Liggan very athletic move. That layup cuts it
to two twenty eighteen Miami trades. I don't know how
Carte got that shot off, let alone making robbing that

(38:23):
on the dry shot block out comes Ligan one more time.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
He's gonna look the tack again.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
This time that he's gonna draw the contact after rim
so Carte Ligan just with some athleticism and speeding the
other in court, kind of give it a little bit
of a spark here first time twenty to eighteen Miami Trace.
The freshman Ligan will go to the line. If he
can make good on two, we can tie this.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
Thing back up.

Speaker 5 (38:53):
We do.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
Obviously, Carte was was a lot of fun to watch
on the football fields his first free for no good
and then you know, as the year went on, he
obviously just able to showcase his talent in so many
different ways. And then here on the basketball board gets
better with every opportunity to play. Certainly as his strength
and his athleticis I'm going to give coach Beard a
lot of options over the next three years. Second free

(39:17):
throw is good living with three points Fimy Trace League
at twenty nineteen and all that made free throw Livan
will check out and Noah Netter will come in and
make his first appearance as Guthrie returns. So we talked
about the apportance of the six sixth no and Netter Drake.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
Let's see if didn't give him some the weight differences
between Netter and Gumphrey. Maybe an easy hundreds.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
Out top Powers had robbed the dad. Bowers had it
on the right wing pressured, well there a good stone King,
I like the zone chew case he's been playing left side.
Sours will try a three, no good and Baker again,
after just killing Tool a coffee and Julian Baker sneaks
in on the offensive ebund and lays it in twenty
two to nineteen.

Speaker 3 (40:05):
Miami Trace takes the shot.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
You want him to take him then you don't wrap
it up with the rebank back on stone King up
top Cox, Cox, guarded by Baker, now.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
Calls the set as they resettle hand at the miller.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
Miller against Bowers kicks it out stone Kings of the
eight three.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
One more time.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
Cooper stone King had in the nice first tight and
we are tied at twenty two as Cooper sphone came
three for three from beyond the arth.

Speaker 3 (40:34):
They have been long threes too.

Speaker 2 (40:37):
Forty eight seconds in county again twenty two wat Miami Trace.
Let's see if they hold for the last shot.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
They go baseline to Robinette.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
They want Guphrie down low that are working hard to
limit the touch, doing a pretty good job there. Sywers
had it on the left side, Kyle down low.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
They lost Robinette Guffrey.

Speaker 2 (40:58):
Guphrey had so much pension high that Robinett was able
to sneak down low and.

Speaker 3 (41:03):
They lost him on the baseline. They find him there
and he lays it in.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
Trey Robinette with his first two Miami Trace back in front.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
Twenty four to twenty two.

Speaker 2 (41:11):
We're gonna have a warning where Miami Trace didn't leave
the ball alone coming through the nat Yeah.

Speaker 4 (41:17):
The cav zone and rightly so, they had three guys
trying to keep around Guthrie and left the back door
open for a leup one shot right Sah, I.

Speaker 3 (41:27):
Would think so.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
Twenty four seconds to go, Miami Trace by two. Miami
Trace played a lot more man here in the second quarter.
See something on the court there. Bowers throws it over
to the sideline. Now I think we're ready to go
be yeah. I would agree with you there, Greg at
twenty four point seven. If you can get the final
shot there yet, I feel pretty good about the first time. Absolutely, Miller,

(41:53):
not in a hurry, walks it up. They are going
to come and run the trap Stone team and they
throw it away. I'll come side, little Euro step through Miller,
and they're gonna give one Miller the offensive files. He
takes the charge. Out standing job by the senior. You
turn it over on one end, which isn't good, but
gives Tilakaki credit instead of dropping the head. They hustle

(42:16):
back and they draw the charge, and they're gonna get
one more offensive opportunity here. Badger returns for p Tilicoffee,
Whittaker returns for Miami Trace.

Speaker 3 (42:30):
Miami Trace.

Speaker 2 (42:30):
Looks like they're gonna pick up well, at least Bowers
is gonna come up in the full court.

Speaker 3 (42:36):
They go to Cox here.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
Seven seconds, six seconds high ball screen. Cox comes off
of it. He's gonna try a three, no good, and
it goes up over the top the backboard, and I
guess there's technically point three seconds to go.

Speaker 3 (42:51):
Miami Trace will just be able to enter it. And
it looks like we're.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
Gonna head to the half of Miami Trace up too.
Let's see what Miami Trace has in mind here.

Speaker 3 (43:01):
Yeah, Ny, just dinner it now.

Speaker 2 (43:02):
Flowers will heave at one handed and it'll fall well short.

Speaker 3 (43:06):
We've come to the half.

Speaker 2 (43:07):

Welcome back to Chilcafee High School, Shane Combs, Greg Big,
I'm here on fourteen ninety WBX on the AM side
of Course, ninety two point seven FM and worldwide on
iHeart and our halftime score. Miami Trades twenty four Chili
Coaffee twenty two. As we mentioned, Miami Trads coming in
eleven and zero and fell off to a great start.

(46:44):
They led at nine to three. Course coach Beard the
call of time out. The outstanding junior post player out
of Ubery had all of nine at that point, and
hey to nice adjustments is able to settle back into
the game, and at the end of the first quarter
Chili Cooffee let it thirty to eleven. Back comes to
Miami Trace. They played out in front, opened up a

(47:04):
four or five point lead, and then a couple open
court opportunities score the athletic carte Liggan thought kind of
sparked Chili Cooffee a little bit and uh some time
and score back and forth that both teams.

Speaker 3 (47:16):
Would probably like to redo a little bit.

Speaker 2 (47:19):
Nonetheless, we come to the half Miami Trace twenty four
Chilo Coffee twenty two. Great taking a look at your
numbers there, what the what's the what's the story in
terms of the way the numbers tell it?

Speaker 3 (47:30):
Yeah, one and again easy interpretation.

Speaker 4 (47:33):
Caps shot the ball well, they shot forty seven percent
in the first half they shot forty four and a
half to the.

Speaker 3 (47:39):
Three point line.

Speaker 4 (47:40):
Good shooting right, and on the other side, Miami Trace
only shot thirty eight percent. The difference, however, is Miami
Trace shot twenty nine times, Chilicoffee shot seventeen, so they
got twelve more and ten they shot at four percentage.
We got twelve more shots at it. And I think
that that's tells.

Speaker 2 (47:57):
You a lot well. I think that's that's really well said.
I thought Chili Copey turned it over a little bit,
which obviously cost you opportunities to take shots.

Speaker 3 (48:06):
On the other end, I.

Speaker 2 (48:07):
Thought Miami Trace really went to work on the offensive
glass again, an opportunity to get more shots. And as
you said, yeah, it's it's simple math, right, you get
more shots at the basket.

Speaker 3 (48:16):
Chase Armore is going to go in.

Speaker 2 (48:17):
So ChIL coffee. From that aspect's got to feel pretty
good and only be two down in it and an opportunity.

Speaker 4 (48:22):
Shane waded what happens, And I think the coaching staff
a great job. They's mixed it up to play a
lot of zone. Miami Trace hasn't made a three point shot.
They're zero for six of the three point line the
zone has worked. When you're in the zone and you
got Guthrie, that that attracts your attention right point. And
what's happened a couple of times all that attention Miami
trace that backside rebound. You've got three guys trying to

(48:45):
keep Guthrie off the board in that backside guy a
lot of times.

Speaker 3 (48:48):
It's Uh.

Speaker 4 (48:49):
The sophomore Jullian Baker's quite has been able to jumps
for a while, so I think, uh, he said, well
you need to box out. Well, it's a little easier
said than done. I Chili Cofy's had a problem with that.
Playing out of the zone. They've had trouble. It takes
three guys to try to keep Guthrie off the boards,
and that's what's opened it up a bit. But that
has been a big staff the fact they've shot twelve
more talk a couple of times they missed, got the

(49:11):
rebound missed and then made it so two or three times.
So that happened that maya Trace was able to take advantage.
But hey, Cooper stone Kings hit one, hit one, but
Cooper's hit the threes. Billy helped us stay in it.
We did a good job Miami Trace had to get
out of their zone because we were getting down that
low block getting some nice easy shots. So all in all,
I think it's a good first st half of the cabin.
I had him for five turnovers at Mayo traced for three.

(49:34):
So but that pace of game, you're not gonna hopefully
not have eleven turnovers because of that pace, it's of
the game.

Speaker 2 (49:42):
Well, if take it looks some individual scoring. The first
for Chilli Cothe, they're led by Cooper stone King, who's
knocked down three triples. He has nine looks like four
for Andrew Hammond, three for one Miller, three for Cayden
cox In three for Carte Liggan. That gives Chilik the
twenty two. They've only been to the free throw line

(50:03):
there looks like three times, made two of them, and
again they've knocked down four three pointers, three of them
of course stone King. Looking over at Miami Trace, I
have unofficially Adam Guthrie with fourteen, which you know, Greg
again he had he had so many early. I thought
Chilicoffie actually did a pretty good job on him over
the last ten minutes of a half. And I have

(50:24):
six for Baker, thought Greg highlighted well where those were
able to come from in the middle where he was
one offensive glass, two for Whittaker, two for Robin, and
then a number that jumps out at me, a scoreless
high for sky Saliars and I thought that was a
that was a big pick me up for the Chilicothe defense.

Speaker 4 (50:41):
Yeah, it was, and they weren't able to hit out.
So really, Baker and Guthrie what twenty of their yeah,
of their twenty four so when Baker's been able to
score inside some rebounds, So yeah, the.

Speaker 2 (50:51):
Calves did a good job, and you they did a
good Jobe.

Speaker 4 (50:53):
When Guthrie started out, I thought, you know what, we
might see one of them forty white nights. But he
slowed down a little bit, but still I'll be started
leading scoring.

Speaker 3 (51:00):
The guy, the guy you gotta stop.

Speaker 2 (51:02):
Well, hey, opportunity for ChIL Coffee, just like we said
in the pre game, is buying me trace eleven and zero.
We thought it'd be a great signature win and Chili
Coffee is certainly here at home, has an opportunity. We'll
step aside. We'll be back with some second half adjustments
in of course for second half called Shank Holme's great
finger and you're listening to Chili Cooffee boys basketball on
fourteen ninety.

The Expert Teamlet Specialists. Welcome back Shane Colsen, Gray Big
up here on fourteen ninety w b X HILFH Times
for Miami Trace twenty four toil Coffee twenty two and
Greg As we come up on the second half. We
always talk about getting off to a good start in
the first two or three minutes.

Speaker 3 (52:47):
Remember we talked in.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
The pre game about how important it was to not
play behind this Miami Trads team into.

Speaker 3 (52:53):
The second half.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
But because of the pace of play, I would think
that even more so really needs.

Speaker 4 (52:59):
A fast start here for Yeah, hopefully they can stay around,
keep it clean, like to keep it close they did
over there last time, and then Miami Trace really called
away in.

Speaker 2 (53:07):
The fourth quarter.

Speaker 4 (53:08):
But keep it close, keep yourself like the other night
against Jackson, got a chance to win it at the end.
I had to kind of chuckle them into going. And
I'm being factious with the assistant coach came over. You know,
an important job of an assistant coach at this point.
He came over and said, how many foulses, Adam have?
Meaning Guthrie, that's that's your main job, right make sure
you know you're the big guy carries you make sure

(53:29):
that how many fouls are you have no doubt it's.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
Gonna be Miami Trace basketball to start the second half.
ChIL Coffe come out in his own look, trying to
get it inside the guthrie. Now Baker actually curls into
the middle and he gets it there, his power moving
up and good. They use they used the post up
mctgufery lot. It's a screen. Baker just curls the viddle
and scores. To start the second half. Twenty six twenty two,

(53:55):
Miami Trace Chilic Coffie's first possession of the third quarter.
Stone King roads it into the corner to Cox. Now
will shuffle cut into ham and who dumps it off
the Badger lays it in outstanding task Pam Badger's first
bucket of the evening. ChIL Coffee back within two at
twenty six twenty four, Bowers brings it up, gives way

(54:16):
to Robin Att. We're gonna play high ball stream with
Baker now goes right wing the Bowers now gonna look
the post feed day to Guphrie highs.

Speaker 3 (54:25):
Patience, he spends.

Speaker 2 (54:27):
Dot GM Chili Cofie wanted to try to draw the charge.

Speaker 3 (54:30):
It's a play on I guess they ruled it a
flop and Guphrie lays it in.

Speaker 2 (54:36):
Twenty eight to twenty four Miami traced by four Chilicoffee
at the basketball Ham and has it on the left side.
Stone King up top, comes off the ball stream. It's
way to Miller, who now gives way to Ham and.

Speaker 3 (54:50):
Stone King.

Speaker 2 (54:51):
Ball stream from Badger hits Badger on the roll. He
splits the double team, lays it in, and the fowl
icily done.

Speaker 3 (54:58):
Stone King and two man game. When stone King hit.

Speaker 2 (55:02):
Badgery, he's able to split the double team and lay
it in and draw the contact.

Speaker 3 (55:09):
Had one opportunity for Badger.

Speaker 2 (55:12):
Twenty eight to twenty six Miami Trace and Cam will
have a chance to Yeah.

Speaker 4 (55:16):
The cows are only two out of four from the
foul line in the first half, and it came get
him off to a good start.

Speaker 3 (55:20):
Nope, free throws no good, so it'll stay.

Speaker 2 (55:23):
Twenty eight twenty six. Just a minute and half into
the second half play, Fowers of Miami Trace walks it
up left side. It's Robinette back to Buyers. Chilicoffee continues
the zone and trying to take the ball away right corner.

Speaker 3 (55:39):
Three sours, no good.

Speaker 2 (55:40):
Robinette with an athletic, athletic opportunity to win the second
chance and his put.

Speaker 3 (55:47):
Back basket is good.

Speaker 2 (55:48):
Tray Robinette thirty twenty six, trace back to fourth another
offensive rebound cheam. Miller turns and pitches of stone King.
He'll go left, Ribbel kicks it back diagonal out top
to cops.

Speaker 3 (56:03):
Stone King will run and get it back.

Speaker 2 (56:04):
On the handoff D three one more time. I say,
score trifle of a night and just like that, chilicoffee
within one. Thirty twenty nine, Cooper stone Oh, Cooper's shot
a well from outside Cowards walks it to the to
the right wing, goes right corner. Robinette again trying to

(56:24):
get Guphrie down on the block of what they're doing
is they're using Baker is a little bit more of
a movement in the middle.

Speaker 3 (56:30):
And trying to to find the seam in the chilipape zone.

Speaker 2 (56:33):
Andrew now Robinette has it on the right side, download
to Guphrey. He drops steps to the left shoulder and
he gets all the way to the rim and lays
it in again just too deep to give him some chambers.

Speaker 3 (56:45):
They got to be.

Speaker 4 (56:46):
It's really fun to watch, you know, he's a smart player,
decides being huge.

Speaker 3 (56:52):
Thirty two to twenty nine.

Speaker 2 (56:53):
Miami traits penetration from stone King like out top Miller.
Miller drives the left, not there by Guffhrie, but the
shot they got bowers in the air and go to
draw the foul.

Speaker 3 (57:05):
But I don't think they're going to save Miller got
the shot up. He is staying off.

Speaker 2 (57:08):
The floor, so it's just a common foul. As Ligan
makes his first appearance of the second half and or
replaced Pageant, Well, Miami Trace started out this quarter.

Speaker 4 (57:19):
They're four out of five. Of course they are almost
all those shots close in.

Speaker 2 (57:25):
Luke Armstrong, they're back up point guard. Their replaces powers
Obie underneath. They come out top of the stone King.
He tries to drive middle cut off there by Robinette
now gives way to Miller. Miller penetrates off the right
hand dribble gives the Hammon in the middle. Hamm and

(57:45):
stepped through guarded by Baker, will kick it back out
the Cox in chilicopia.

Speaker 3 (57:49):
Good patience, Kay didn't have it.

Speaker 2 (57:53):
Cox dribbles out up by half court. Now Ligan will
come out for the ball screen Guphrie with an athletic hat.

Speaker 3 (58:00):
The Cox turns the corner, gets all the way to the.

Speaker 2 (58:02):
Rims shot up in a foul, and I think we're
gonna wave it off and say the contact came by
us on the floor. Hawk's so good when he gets
that left hand downhill. So the foul on the floor
shot no good. Already three teen files on many traces.
Hilo Kaifee'll take it underneath.

Speaker 4 (58:23):
Yeah, Kayden wind up on a switch with guth reegarding him.

Speaker 2 (58:27):
Miller in bound the ligand almost throws it away. Philo
Coothie gets it back. Now Miller has it left wing.
He'll try a three, no good rebound. Ligan takes it
away and we're gonna have a loose ball foul. And
can't tell if they got go three or not.

Speaker 3 (58:43):
If so, it's a second, but.

Speaker 2 (58:47):
That's their fourteenth files again. Tillocaifee with an opportunity to
maybe get to the free throw line a little bit
more than a second.

Speaker 3 (58:53):
But as you said, they've got to be able to
convert when they get there.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
Chilocafee has it underneath one more time, all the way
out top.

Speaker 3 (59:02):
It's ligging. He'll hand off the cocks.

Speaker 2 (59:06):
Miami Tray's coming back out into me and the man
Cox is guarded by Baker. He'll hand it off the
miller up top a stone King. He'll try a three.
When he got it, Miami Tray's shift not guarding was enough.
Urgency was almost like they kind of had a hand down.

Speaker 3 (59:22):
Down in the shoot and he hit.

Speaker 2 (59:25):
Were gonna think we had a technical.

Speaker 3 (59:26):
Foul, a waste in the ball? Yeah, I don't know
what happened.

Speaker 4 (59:31):
Three was good by stone King and then Miami Trace
started to take it out. We'll get it next week.
I guess just the foul, just a foul come maybe
after the ball was in the air from stone King.
Fowl was called on twenty two?

Speaker 2 (59:51):
Would be?

Speaker 4 (59:52):
Is that Robinette that's a sour say so evidentally away
from the basketball, he was boxing out and grabbed a
hold and it's a fifteenth foul. So that's a chance
for a four point pluck or a five point pluck.

Speaker 3 (01:00:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
Yeah, I had looked down to give stone King credit
on my score sheet and looked back up on the
whistle and had the action away from the ball. Okay,
So the explanation is because of the team control. Even
though it's the fifth foul. They will not shoot it,
but it should give Chili Cooffee the ball.

Speaker 4 (01:00:26):
Buy it under their own bucket. Yeah, So Hammon, who
had gotten foul, will not get a shoe too. So
out top Leggan again. He's guarded by Duffer.

Speaker 2 (01:00:38):
He's playing way back in and Vaper on the handoff
the stone King. Vaper tries to jump in fun and
he's going to be called for the contact, so stone
King will go to the line and obviously Lamy Chase
starting to get frustrated with the six over. You know,
so far there's been a lot of contact on this thing.

Speaker 4 (01:00:56):
I thought that was a tough calling, Baker. He was
going for the basketball, but there were contact. Yeahoper continues.
He finally makes a shot.

Speaker 2 (01:01:06):
Great, not work free because he makes good on the
first free throw, he'll get another.

Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
That one's also good. Thirty four to thirty two.

Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
ChIL Coffee out in front. Three fifty to go.

Speaker 3 (01:01:20):
Third quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:01:21):
Kili Cooffee continues to work in the zone, trying to
take all the touches from Guphery. Baker has it on
the left side now gives down low to Guphrie. That's
two Chilicopy defitters on the double team. He splits it
and loses the grid. The light comes Cox with it.
Cox Baker hustling from behind and knocks it out of bounds.

(01:01:42):
Good hustle from Julian Baker prevents Cox from getting the
ball up on the rim, but nonetheless Chili Cooffee will
have possession with a chance to add to the two
point leader.

Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
Stone kne in the right.

Speaker 2 (01:01:53):
Corner out the Cox. Cox looking to go one on
one cape here into the game. How high ball screening here,
and I think Coach Beard is going to have a timeout.
It's well short once we'll stay here. Yeah, thirty four
to thirty two. Dude, Greg, I you know, I hate
to simplify it too much, but sometimes the difference in

(01:02:15):
the scoreboard is just shoot the basketball.

Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
Well, if Cooper stone.

Speaker 2 (01:02:19):
King is certainly don't.

Speaker 3 (01:02:21):
He's been red hot.

Speaker 4 (01:02:22):
See cataliers from a three point line and it's all
Cooper stone King other than one from one miller. They've
taken twelve threes and they'de one, two, three, four, five,
six out of twelve for the three point line.

Speaker 3 (01:02:33):
You'll take that at.

Speaker 2 (01:02:34):
Any level, no question. At Cooper stone King, it's hit
five of those, has seventeen on the night and at
thirty four thirty two. This is what we talked about,
the ability to play out in front. This is the
first time Tilicoffee's had a really legitimate shot of going
up two possessions. Let's see if the Cavs can execute here.
Coming out of the timeout.

Speaker 4 (01:02:55):
That was a good actually a good time out, I
think because the one official Will almost had a hand
in here to call a five second violation on Cox
had not penetrated with the basketball, and I back called the.

Speaker 3 (01:03:06):
Time out and probably saved a turnover. Miami Trace was
certainly asking for it. Yeah, get Cooper.

Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
Stone King Will inbound the ball right in front of
me here, gives out top to Cox and it looks
like Miami Trace still find out now they're back for
a little bit of his own book. Stone King up
top left corner. It's tam and he'll try a three.
No good great box out for Miller. Allowed Cox to
come in and get it back. So Caden Cox comes

(01:03:35):
in with the offensive rebaild give one Miller a lot
of credit for the inside position, giving Cox a little
bit of an opportunity to get there.

Speaker 3 (01:03:43):
So he's going to go to the free throw line.
Three to two is Trey.

Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
Robinette will wait to check in for Miami Trace after
this first free throw. Cox's first free throw is good.
His first points of the second half. He has four
on the night. Robinette replaces Baker because the files really
start to add up here on Miami Trades. Looks like

(01:04:09):
Bager's going to return for Chili Coffee.

Speaker 3 (01:04:11):
And Miami Trace.

Speaker 4 (01:04:12):
When on that possession only had two starters in so
but now they've got all five starters back in.

Speaker 2 (01:04:17):
After that, I check that back they still got one
sub in. Yeah, it looks like Luke Armstrong is still
in the game with the Baker out. Baker, I believe
that was his third Yeah, I believe it was.

Speaker 3 (01:04:30):
Cops. Second free throw is good.

Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
Chili Coffee with its biggest lead of four thirty six
thirty two, Bowers walks it up here for Miami Trades
three minutes ago. Third quarter left point, the Robinette back
over to Bowers, now to Armstrong, swings it all the
way back around the Robinette, now high post.

Speaker 3 (01:04:51):
It's guffery. He kicks out of the corner to Sires.

Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
And again Chilkoffee doing a pretty good job protecting the pain.
Now they get it down low. A triple team against Guthrie,
Parte Ligga does a great job of bodying up and
looks like they're gonna knock it out of bounds. Last
touch by til Coffee, but the Partie Liggan obviously giving
up a lot of size, but the strength is able
to chest.

Speaker 3 (01:05:13):
Up a little bit and dode a pretty good job.

Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
Miami Trase teeds somebody to hit an outside shot. Well,
just as you say that, Robinett tries a right corner
three no good.

Speaker 3 (01:05:23):
But Adam Guthrie with the.

Speaker 2 (01:05:24):
Rebound in the put back cuts the Chilicoppy lead to
two at thirty six.

Speaker 3 (01:05:29):
Thirty four.

Speaker 4 (01:05:29):
Yeah, Miami Trace oer fur eight for the three point line.
So if they're going to want it, I think they
gotta find somebody to get a few shots outside because
right now it's just old Guthrie fac comes Chilicothee working
against the Miami Tray zone as they swing it side
to side by drazing the corner.

Speaker 2 (01:05:48):
Tried to get it back out the miller and had
to kick. Then Miami Trace has such incredible size you
really can appreciate it from where we're sitting down here
on four level you got to try to get into
the heath to the zone somehow. You can't let him
continue to force you all the way out. Stone King
into the middle of the carte legging, legging back out

(01:06:08):
to Miller. One fifty two, third quarter, Chilli Coffee by two.
With the basketball, Cox has it on the right point,
double team there by Buyers and Armstrong. Now Miller will
swing it over to Bager. Badger dribbles into the middle,
back out top Miller til Coffee with good patience, just
not getting anywhere against the zone.

Speaker 3 (01:06:29):
Stone King back to Miller.

Speaker 2 (01:06:32):
Miller tried to go left corner and Robinet again at
six ' four long Armful to depletion. Looks like Andrew
Hammond's going to come in, and you know, and Chili
Cofee in the first half had some success. They were
able to stretch that zone out and then they were
able to get a little bit of a cut into
the middle.

Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
See if they get some player moved right now that
zone has really come out to try to trap. If
they could get Caten Cox in the middle of that zone,
because he can move around, but he just came out
for a break dribble pin.

Speaker 2 (01:06:59):
Oft try for Miller and then he kicks it back
out how Miami trace Hub was starting to run and
jump just a little bit out of the zone with
some traps on pretty much every cap. Chilicopee with good spacing,
certainly taking care of the basketball. Piger now has a
corner against the traff and he throws it off of

(01:07:20):
Armstrong into the Chilicothee student section. So kind of a
heads up play there by Cam.

Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
He was a no man slating when he was trapped
in the deep corner of it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:31):
Good quick thinking to throw it off the defender because
he was going to get trapped. Five seconds Pigri and
beunds of Miller comes up top stone King again, buyers
stretched way out high post entry to Tolligan back out
stone King will try a three. He got it on
my good stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:07:46):
Can't have a high you.

Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
Wow. Thirty nine, thirty four Chilicofee forty three seconds to
go here in the third quarter. And outstanding response here
in the second half from chilicoffee Bowers on the right wing,
Alex Guthrie down low triple team. He spins away from
all of it, shot up and is good. Such a
great sense of where the help's coming from. Greg and
spins away from it, gets it.

Speaker 3 (01:08:11):
Up on the glass, lays it in and the file.

Speaker 2 (01:08:17):
Away. Then you might hear Coach Beard in the background
there talking about how you can't let him turn to
his left shoulder. That's how he's gonna get to that
stronghand got to force him back to the middle. He's saying,
to get the help free throw, no good, So that
helps a little bit. Thirty nine thirty six chilikaffee three
point lead in the basketball with twenty five seconds.

Speaker 3 (01:08:37):
If they can handle it against some of the traffic here,
they're gonna be able to.

Speaker 4 (01:08:40):
Get the last shot, the last shot. Don't turn it
over here, and that's easier said than done. With the
trap on one two to two trap half court, they
usual lies Liggan in the middle. Liiggan's gotta be careful
in that three second call. There again a stone king
trapped up top. Now ligging at the high post. Back
out Hamming'll try a left side three, no good. Fight
for the loose ball, lick it comes up with it

(01:09:01):
