Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time for Chilicothee High School basketball action on the
home of the Caps fourteen ninety wb e X powered
by Where Funeral Home, aDNA Health System and Holler Funeral Home.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Good evening, everyone, and welcome the Chilicoppy High School inside
the LSB. Hatt Memorial Gymnasium on Shane Holmes sitting courtside
here at the Thomas M.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Cup At court alongside.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Greg Bigham and Greg Tonight makeup action for chilicothe Boys
basketball as Western Brown the Blocos make the trip for
meln Orb but a pretty good Monday night trip to
make and take on a Chilicoffee Cavalier team that's been
playing better basketball late. They had the three game winning
streak staff the other night by probably, in my opinion,

(00:47):
the best team on their schedule at this point is
really really good.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
New Albany feat competed with them pretty well.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
I still feel like some momentum on their side come
in here at the seven and nine, still playing a
lot of home games.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
I know you mentioned the year when we did a
game last week, but you felt.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Like this was a real important stretch where you really
felt like they could get back to the five hundred
mark or maybe even go over top of it.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Now you would hope.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
So they're up to I mean, you new Albany would
be tough, but seven and nine a chance to Western Brown.
I did five and twelve overall, but I know they
play in a tough conference. They are in the Cincinnati area,
so they face a lot of good competition. But I
think certainly a chance tonight. You got two games in
the league play with McClain. They only lost by two
against Jackson. They got Central Crossing on Wednesday night, which

(01:31):
I think is a winnable game with Central Crossing is
certainly not a top of the of the occ but
they are Division one, so it's not a give me.
But I think if they've been playing better, they've they've
got a chance to go maybe get a little other
streak on this week the catches and you well know
this Friday, Saturday, Well they played last Wednesday, they played Friday,
they played Saturday, they played tonight, they played Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
It's a lot of basketball. When you're only six or seventy.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
You had no question about it, and you take a
look at the Knight's opponent, you you know, it's been
a weird season for the Broncos. They started zero and
five and then it looked like they had been able
to write the ship, getting all the way back to
five and nine. But then they lose three in a row,
including over the weekend, the back to back losses, the
Clinton Massie and then the Turpin. And you know here

(02:18):
they are, as you said, losers of three straight and
at five and twelve, they do play in the Solid Conference.
I'd see American a division of the Southern Buckeye Conference.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
As you mentioned Goshen and Batavia at the top of that.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Western Brown's the middle of the pack team with Wilmington
just ahead of New Richmond and Clinton Massy. But you know,
there's two things. I guess I wanted to get your
opinion on the Western Brown you and I had a
chance to go down there in the fall, very athletic
football group. I see a lot of the same names
here on the roster. Remember they were thrown it all
over the field that night and then the Monday night

(02:50):
the make up the long bus trip.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
I would think that has to be a factor. So
your thoughts on Western.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Brown and how the weird Monday night atmosphere could play
a role in that.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
I again, you know they play Friday Saturday also, I
think so they're kind of in the same boat. But
they had to make a long trip, so yeah, you know,
I would think it would have an effect.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
You know, on you have a long trip, you got
to you know, the long trip home.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
I guess doesn't matter much to them, although school will
come pretty early in the morning.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
But yeah, that's a long bus ride for a week night.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
We'll see what effect U You know, maybe the calves
can get an early jump here with these guys just
kind of sitting there, getting a long trip and then
getting off the bush, maybe the calves can jump off
to a good start.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
The calves still have to focus sometimes.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
I think physically tired is not as bad as mentally tired.
I grew and you know that those games Friday was
a mental game that came back and wanted to after
getting a big lead against the Blue Lions Saturday night.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Listened to part of the broadcast.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
I know it was a battle, but they stayed tough
after falling behind early. So mentally, uh, I think the
calves just have to to work it. Don't come down,
take one dribble and shoot threes, get into it, don't
lose your man on defense and get lazy, I mean
get a little lazy mentally. I almost think mentally tonight.
The for the Cabs playing that those number of games

(04:11):
in this short number of days, I kind of want
to see how they do mentally and then see what
their focus is in at first eight nine minutes.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Well, I think that's what I said.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
On your part, I thought you made a great observation
in the JV game. You talked about just a couple
of mental lapses that we had not seen from those
young men. And you know, look, excuse or not, it's
just kind of what it is. You're dealing with fifteen, sixteen, seventeen,
eighteen year old young men.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
And that's certainly can happen.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
When I look at these two teams pretty similar on
the offensive end. Western Brown comes in schling right around
fifty two points a game, Chilicopi does the same.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
The difference grade comes on the defensive end. The Cabs.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
When you consider the schedule they've played, they've been pretty
study on the defensive end, and we're giving up fifty
two where Western Brown has given up over the.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Nearly sixty four points a game.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
So maybe a night for the Cavaliers offensively to get
some guy going. I know they've shot the ball extremely well.
I know you said to me last week. We were
just kind of waiting for that night. We're all three
or four click at the same time, and hopefully that
could be the night.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Palla and I believe was that. There's so many.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Games recently, but I think the Friday night didn't Cox
and stone King both go for nineteen, so they did
get two of them up around twenty points a couple
of games before a Hammon was hot goes over twenty
the two previous games.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
But yeah, I hope. I think all that's I think they.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Know each other's strengths and the rhythm is getting better
as the season's going on. And I did I thought
the JV game, the Western Brown won that game, but
it really felt like the young Calves and the JVS
just a little bit mentally tired a couple of times.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
It is their focus.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
I don't blame them, but I just thought that we'll
see if that carries over. But I thought sometimes that
mental aspect of it, the focus to make sure you're
running your play, you got that extra see what's going on.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
That's the JV's looked a little tired. Hope the varsity
are not well.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
And if you're looking for common opponents, there's been a
couple of them. Probably the one that jumped out of me.
Probably Western Brown's best win of the year was a
seventy five seventy three win over Hillsbroughs Oppress. Again, seventy
five points tells you they can put some points on.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
The board, so should be a good one. Glad to
be here on a Monday night.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Appreciate all the effort to win in on tonight and
then again on Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
To get the makeup on the air. Shane Colebsdrake Biga
will step.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
Aside for quick time, will come back and continue tonight's pregame.
You're listening to Chili Cooffee Boys basketball on WBEs.

Since the day I stopped drinking, my life has gotten
better and better. I can't take any credit for it.
It just seems that without alcohol, I think better. I'm
more careful with money, I watch what I say. I
don't get into trouble like I did when I was drinking.
It's scary trying to walk through life alone.

Welcome back to Chilicothee High School, Shane Holmes, Greg Big.
I'm continuing the free game action for tonight's Chilicoffee Western
Brown matchup. And you know, Greg, a lot of times
I knowing scouting and different things. You'll you'll look at
certain things in a program and they'll list kids at
six ' five and you'll get out there and the
six two you and I felt was a little bit
different tonight.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
Some of the heights that we were.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Given on a rollster as the Western Brown team comes
out here and you and I are always fortunate to
sit court side here at home, A little bit more
size than we thought.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
A pretty good matchup still for chill coffee for the
most part.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
In your opinion, yeah, I think I think they're all
taller and I listed on their program.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
You know something else.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
I'm just thinking about Shane, and You've been around coaching
and coaches a long time.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
You play Friday night, Saturday night.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
Of all these games you play in Wednesday, I would
doubt you bring the kids in on Sunday. They got
to you need a day arrest, You turn around and
play on Monday. How much scouting have you had? You know,
I'm sure probably look on the huddle and seeing each
other on film, but how much chance have you had
to sit down with your team and say, hey, Kyden
Cox likes to take it to the hall. He's left handed,

(08:35):
Hey don't let him and open. He's a three point shooter.
Same with stone King.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
I'm sure they got a little bit of that.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
But always wonder how much you were able to scout
and how much you were able unlike a leg opponent
where you've got to pull scouting report and you know
your opponents so well, well, that might be a part
of the game tonight as well, and it works with
chill coffee too well.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
I fig you're spot on, and I do think that
the whole huddle in the video and all that has
changed a lot of things. Coaches right to clip things
now and you try to work ahead of the game
and put some things together. I'm sure coaches probably had
a little description on some kids today and like you said,
a couple of video clips, but no doubt about it.
You start playing this mini games in this in this

(09:13):
strench amount of time, and that certainly becomes a factor.
Coming up on about a minute and a half to go,
teams are walking to their benches here and then the
national anthem will be followed by the starting lineups. We'll
get and take another quick time out while the national
anthem is played, and we'll be back with tonight's starting
lineups for Western Brown and Chilicothee. This Shane Holmes, Greg Big,

Let your welcome back to Chilicopee High School.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Shan COLEMs, Greg Bigham coming up on the starting lineups
and let me go ahead and throw those out to you.
On the chilicopy side, Coach Bear keeps it pretty much
the way he has for the majority of the year,
with the three guards and two forwards in the back
court at senior point guard one Miller six three sophomore
Caden Cox is joined by six y two junior Cooper

(13:36):
stone King, and then the frontline the forwards of Andrew
Hammond and Cam Badger at sixty four and six three respectively. Again,
that's Miller, Cox, and stone King joined by Hammon and Badger.
For the Broncos, it's Brandon Dill, a five to nine junior.
The point guard is a senior Jet Jamison, comes in

(13:56):
averaging about ten points a game.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
Breden Harrman, a five to eleven junior.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
The Broncos top player, Connor Galli is a six to
three junior, comes in averaging about eighteen points seven rebounds,
shoots at about fifty percent from the floor. Nice player
that I've seen on film in preparation of the game here,
and then William Stewart, a sixth free senior, he comes
in averaging around eight points seven rebounds.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
So again Dil Jamison, Harman, Gallie and Stewart Greig.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
I know over the weekend, if people didn't see it,
Miami Trace went to seven and zero in the league play.
Jackson dropped the six and two, and so Chilicothe at four.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
And three is in that three hole.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
The Miami Trace freshman point guard hit a buzzer beater
to beat him on a Saturday afternoon game.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Outstanding game I got to watch.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
But I know your opinion of watching Chilicothe go toe
to toe and Miami Tracy and Jackson in an eight
days fan tells you that Chili Cootie is really really
close in terms of closing the guy.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
Here.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
Fait Miami Trace, how many two point games have they won?
He ain't even in the leg the last one fifty
four to fifty two beating Cavaliers here when the last
ten seconds of the game, so and you know their
division three. The drawing comes out, of course set by
the RPI, so it's set with your bracket. But interesting
to see with the six teams out of the southeast

(15:21):
six out of the east Miami Trace Division three Chillicothee
and getting out of that district may go through Miami
Trace again.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
No question about. It looks like about ready to go.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Chilikafee in the home white with the blue lettering curse
of Chilcathe right above the number, the gray uniform with
the gold numberstore the Broncos and Cox gets up high
and knocks it back to von Miller and the Calves
will open us with a possession on offense. Here tonight,
Western Brown comes out in a little bit of a
mixer zone with some running jump trap Chilcavi with four

(15:51):
out one End's gonna get Andrew Hammond in the right
corner and he dials it up and gets things started
right with a three pointer three and nothing.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Chili Cooffee back comes dial for the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Across the timeline. Jamison has it on the left wing
up top. Golly, as I said, he comes in averaging
about eighteen a game. Good looking kid, good looking player
up top, that's Jamison. Jamison goes right side deal right
in front of the Chilicothe's food and sets a good
student section for a Monday night re makeup game. Loose
ball on the floor, knocked away him and goes.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
To the floor and wins it. Gives way to stone King.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Out comes Cox with it. Cox to a cutting badger.
Badger up in the middle of the lane.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Shot is good. Five nuts of chilicothe and nice started
for the kaya. Yeah the first time.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
Great ball moving against his own to get him and
set up in the corner. And that was a good
nice deal transition bucket book that badger.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Deal running a little bit more of the point guard
than I giving away to Jamison. Now Deal's got it
back on the left wing. Gives way to Harmon harming
up top. Golly, he'll spin, He'll get to the middle.
Spin again, shot up, no good rebound by Cox.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
He'll look the push.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Cox long bounced past a stone King, goes left baseline,
kicks it diagonal to Miller, who made the extra pass
to him, and he thought about the three.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Turned it down, drives hard and on the shot.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Can't get it to go, but it's gonna get fouled,
and I think he's gonna go the free throw line.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
Bear killed. Tod Andrews shoot the ball, give it a
ball faking the corner. Took it inside. He'll go to
the fouling.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Well, Greg, it's.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Taking ninety seconds for Chili Coffee to do something they
didn't get to do the other night, which is shoot
a free throw.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
Looks like questions that open like a lot of teams
run the open post, wind it around and run the
weave outside, look to drive. So the Calves have seen
that to defense against that offense a lot, so maybe
not too much to they need to know about it.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Damn.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
It's first free throw good, second free throw also good.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
He has five here in the early going. Seven tough
in Chili Coffee that comes.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Dill guarded closely by Miller. Stewart's got it on the
right wing. Gives way to Jamison. He'll rise up, take
a three at the top the key and knock it down.
Jet and Jamison for three. Had a whistle here an
official time out there. I'm not sure what stopped us,
but again give Jet Jamison the three point field goal.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Chilicothee leads at seven to three.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
I think we might add a clock issue. I don't
think it ever started on that possession. Now Badger has
it in the short corner, gives way to stone King
knocked away there. Last touch by Jamison of Western Brown.
So Chilicothe's going to get it on the side. Looks
like just a two to three with a little bit
of a mixer look with o running trap out of it.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
In different spots, stone King splits two. Miller will take
a long three way outside and dials it up good.

Speaker 6 (18:47):
One.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
Miller's showing off some range.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
Ten three Chilicothe, if I comes deal across the timeline,
gives right side Stewart. Stewart will try a deep three
good good box out from stone King off the rebound.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
He'll look the push right side.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
It's Miller drives hard, tried to get it to the
corner to Cox, and I think he throws it away,
no deflection back to the Blancos. Then three Chilikothe five
point forty seven.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
First quarter. Shane combs, Greg Big and glad you're with
us here on this Monday night. Up comes Dial behind
the back one. Miller beats him to the spot.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Nice ball, pressure, turning it, letting him play both ways
on the left of court. There, Jill tries to three,
No good out comes Cox of the rebound. Cox dribbles
it right side back to him and now back to Cox,
he'll try right, bays Sliney's trap there, great look out
top of the stone King and he hits it. Great
job by Caden Cox setting up his back court buddy

(19:49):
stone King. Stone King delivers the three and he got
a quick time out here. It's a short one, so
we'll stay here. But Greg thirteen three. I'm assuming the
numbers will tell a story too. The cat come out fire,
have missed a.

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Shot, three for three, three pointers, two for two from
the foul line, one for one from the field, and
quick time out by Western probably thinking holy cow, do
they shoot threes like this all the time. So the
Calves Hamman hits one, Miller hits one, Stunking hits one,
and the Calves are coming out on fire shooting wise well.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
And to be honest during the home stretch, the answer to.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
That is, in a lot of cases, yes, I think
Chilicoffee has shot the ball really well. I think you
highlight as well in the stat sheet when Chilikafie does it,
turn it over and they get quality looks at the
basket that they've really been a pretty good shooting team
throughout the year. And then on the other end, the
high court defense has been pretty good. It's when they
struggle to finish it with a rebound. But the night

(20:42):
it's been one and done for the Broncos so far,
so that's been a good sign.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
The Broncos are already had a couple of turnovers or
zero for two, one for four from the field, one
for two for three point.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Line got del running the point again. I had said
Jamison is the point guard in the pre game. I
had seen him run the point a lot more. Golly
on a picking pop, gonna try a three? No good
out comes.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
Stone King with it.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
Stone King into the left corner to Badger, back to
stone King. He'll take a deep three from the left
ring and one more time Chilicompy Cavaliers put the hot
hand early on sixteen to three five start for the Calves.
Back comes golly shot up. Nice job by Badger. No
good stone King with another defensive rebound. Take your time,

(21:26):
No stone King gonna dial it up, heat checked there,
no good golly with the rebound. How comes Western Brown.
They've got a two on one deal all the way
to the rim.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
Pike's got a piece of a shot.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
I think he's gonna be called for a little bit
of body underneath and Meybing got a piece of the head.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
According to the official signal.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
There again Braden Dial he comes in averaging about six
a game. Again, I'd watch Jamison run a lot more
of the point tonight. It's been Braiden deal the five
nine junior with most of the point guard duties. His
first free throw is no good. Sixteen to three. Chilicothe

(22:05):
and great. We talked about the key of a fist
start team coming on the road like this. Chilcote certainly
has done that. Second free throw goods sixteen to four.
Cabs on top, Miller has it up top, looks like
the Broncos and now switched to the man the man
high entry to Hammond, plays balls green off of Bager

(22:28):
hand throw off the Cox cocks off another ball screen
from Badger.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Mid range jumper. No good deal with the rebound.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
Push his head to Jamison. Now Harmon has it right
history point are blocked by Cox. Good transition defense out
comes stone King. Stone King pushes hard with the left
hand all the way to the rim and changes to
the right hand and lays it in. Never stopped the
basketball to Western Brown Cooper. Stone King takes advantage coast
Leigh in eighteen to four. Five comes Jamison, Jamison left side,

(23:00):
Cox steps in front.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
Picks it off Cox. It's a race to the rim.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Hides the ball from Jamison, lays it in with his
off hand the right hand and Caden Cox now on
the board and all five Chili Coffee starters have scored
and they lead it twenty to four.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
And Gawali throws it away into the Chili.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
Cooffee students sessed it and the students let him know
about it a little bit there.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
So Greg, I'll tell you what outstand. I don't think
I've seen this. Tabs start like this all you.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
They're red hot, So ask me again if had two
hour bus trip had a difference. Right now, it looks
like a pitch, although I think they like to push
it up and they're taking quick shots kind of feeding
right into the cabs hands.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
Carte Liggan has checked into the game, replacing Hammon. Miller
goes right side a stone King Stone King one and
legging down low now kicks it all the way across
court to Badger Badger hard on the drive through the contact,
gets it up off the glass and then Cam Badger
with four twenty two to four Calves with the big
first quarter. We still have three minutes to play with

(24:02):
Calves have twenty two points on the board. That comes
Jamison gives way it's a hit. Who just entered the game.
Now Jamison has it uptop Sandifer, who's also checked into
the Broncos. Sandiford drives hard to the left hand and
on the drive. It's a good call. Got bumped there.
Let's see if they get him in the actor shooting

(24:23):
here they do in Austin Sandifer. We're talking in the
pre game. It seems like he was one of the
many d receivers and he's a nice looking athlete. Long
wlinky kid got to the got the quick first step
there and was able to draw the foul in the shot.
So twenty two to four, two fifty to go, first quarter.

(24:45):
It will be Austin Sandyford at the line. Free throw up,
No good mark, he'll get another here the Badger and
ligging down low boxing out here for the Calves. Second
free throw up.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Good on the mat.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Go let Andrew ham And check back in and he's
going to give Badger a break. Hammon has five here,
nearly going one. Miller brings it up back and forth
through the legs. Now it's up top stone King. Stone

(25:28):
King thought about the three goes right side, it's Cox.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Cox looks to go.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
One on one the one inside out dribble, crosses over,
gets to the rim shot no good, but draws a foul.
Cayden Cox is going to go to the free throw line.
So Cox with two points here in nearly going. I'm
going to try to add to that total and see
if he can extend what's been an outstanding the first
quarter for Chilicopy at twenty.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
Two to five free throw good, okay.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Six three sophomore the lefty Cox has just been tremendous
this year. I feel like he gets better every time
we watch him. Dragon, I would agree, second free throw good.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
His court sense keeps getting better.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
Yes, twenty four to five Chillakothee exploding out of the
gate here this evening hard drive down the middle from Jamison.
Got some hands there. I believe they're going to get
stone King on the drive. They do had had some
hands here. He certainly had a step. It's really really

(26:34):
good officiating crew.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
The season Obi under box set for the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
How top Stuart gives way to sand If we're going
to run a little flex ACKs, you know, on the baseline,
and they get Jamison coming up top. He's guarded closely
by the ligging back door there at Stuart and he
lays it in. Nice execution from the Broncos and William
Stewart's first bucket of the ninth twenty four to seven.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Tillakathe just like that.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
Back on stone King corner three. Liggan on the floor
for the loose ball, still loose. Both coaches trying to
call time out, but no one has possession and finally
they're going to say last touch by Western Brown.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
Cart Carte. Ligan was all.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
I think he's recovering a fumble on the football field.
He got on him, but he was laying on his back.
It was undera and he's behind and he was trying
to get rolled over to get possession. Coach is trying
to call time out and then re possession.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
I don't know that Coach Fraser agreed with that decision.
Down there.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
On the other end, Jan Miller has it on the
left wing, drives hard to the left hand, cut off
there and back out. Stone King had a good look
out of no good up high for the rebound good
two hand rebound by ligging, and it looks like we're
gonna have a loose ball foul.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
That was an impressive rebound. I like how he went
up and tried to high point it with two hands. Yeah, Carte,
he can really get up. They look back to the
opposite bench here to coach Beard to get their set.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
As Golly returns. The lineup for the Broncos one Miller
will be the trigger man. It's a high triangle set
here for the Calves. Cox tries to cut hard of
the basket out there all the way out top of Liggan.
Miller will sprint out and get the hand off back.
It comes off a high ball screen and he has
it taken away turnover. Bronco's all look to push Golly

(28:25):
in the open court. They throw it over top of
him and they overthrow him. Out comes Cox with a
turnover Calves in the transition he tried to get the
rim runner ligging and unable to connect. But I do
think they said the Western Brown touched the lights. One
twenty three, first quarter, twenty four to seven. Chilo Cofee

(28:49):
try to down it to him and then they throw
it away back over the Western Brown.

Speaker 4 (28:56):
Now things are going over all, the calves a little
sloppy here in the last coven. You know, are you
going to complaints? Twenty four to seven, But they've gotten sloppy.
Sometimes those passes you get a big lead, you get
to rolling, you let those one in underhand quick passes
that look good, and a couple of those passes have
been sloppy here in the last minute.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Sutton hard off to drive Sutton.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
You might remember the quarterback on their football team, deep
three for Jamison, no good again one and done Cox
this time of the rebound, and again the Cavs get
anxious in transition to throw it away back them to
the Broncos two on one. Dolly leads it in counter galley.
The leading score of Western Brown on the board comes

(29:36):
into twenty four to nine. Vic comes Chilicothee Cox hard
down the middle and again a right handed finished for
the left handed Cox. He has six twenty six to
nine Chilo Coffee. We come up on thirty seconds to play.
See if Western Brown will take the final shot of
the quarter. Sutton gives a way to hip hit on

(29:57):
the crossover jump stop. Sutton'll try a three, no good
offensive rebound, Sandiford gives it back to hit hit trapped
in the corner, but gets it out out Sandiford. Good
back door for Jamison, gets all the way to the rams,
switches it over to the left hand and lays.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
It in nice cut.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
It's good movement without the basketball twenty six eleven. Back
in the calf Stone King to try to beat the
clock and it comes up short. How standing start for
the Cavaliers on this Monday night we come to the
end of the first quarter. Chili Cooffee twenty six Western eleven.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
Welcome back to Chilicoffee High School.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
Shamed Holmes, Greig Big, I appreciate you being with us
here on fourteen ninety WBX on the am side, of course,
ninety two point seven FM and worldwide on iHeart Radio.
And a great start for Chilicothe. They scored twenty six
points there in the first quarter, the lead by fifteen.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
Some really hot shooting there in your numbers.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
I soon yeah you nine fourteen from the field total
four of eighth and they missed it made their first
four miss their next four and four or four.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
From the foul.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
Western Brown basketball to start the first half. Good wing
denial from Cox, he's out in the open court two hands.
He goes up off two hands, misses it. Good hustle
from ligging, ligging and Deal come down. Cox had gone
up two hens and uh had the ball up on
the rim. Good hustle from Western Brown and uh as
deal and ligging both hustle back.

Speaker 3 (32:28):
They come down tight up.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
So obviously with Western Brown starting the quarter to the ball,
the possessionary will favor the Calves. Drop it underneath. Cox
just lost harming there on the cut, easy lay up
for Caden Cox. He has two more twenty eight eleven
calves by seventeen deal across the timeline gives way to Sutton.

(32:49):
Now it's up top. That is Harmon, Gaully spin move,
tried to throw it, throws it away to throw it
out the carte ligging, ligging out in the.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
Court and lays it in carte ligan.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
Is Chilicothee able to use some the defense to get
easy offense and transition thirty to eleven.

Speaker 3 (33:10):
That comes Harmon, send it for on the right side
high post. It's Gaully.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
He gets in the middle shot up off the glass,
no good rebound Cox at Chilicothee. Cox will push stop
and go at the three point Ne dumps it off,
beautiful pass cam Badger Sayden Cox impacting the game.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
In a lot of different ways.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
Greg They well, they're in transition right now. If they're
unstop for another turnover for Western Von Miller takes it away.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
Calves have numbers, tried to drop a bounce pass off,
give Western Brown credit.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
Deal, really hustled back there and as a result gonna
be able to knock it off the leg of Ligan.
Then they're gonna get it back to the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
Thirty two to eleven, six forty two to go in
the first half. With Miller denying Bill there a little bit,
they'll throw it into Tyler hitt He'll bring it up
cross timeline. He's guarded by Dick Hitchens, who just checked
into the ball game. Left side three pointers William Stewart.

(34:14):
Good looking stroke there.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
Three pointer. Stewart has five on the evening thirty two fourteen.

Speaker 4 (34:20):
Just their second three on the night. They're two out
of seven to three point line. Miller gives way to Hammon.
Now it's left side Badger. Badger hands it off the Hitchins.
Hitchings up to the right point.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
It's Hammon, Hammond and rips through draws the double team
kicks at the miller Great ops to look the Hitchins.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
He'll try at three and he got it well. Hitchins says,
I want to join the party. Two if everybody's shooting the.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
Three and he dials one up and caves back to
twenty one point lead at thirty five fourteen.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
Stuart on the drive no good.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Stewart gets it back put back is good. Stuart was
six or excuse me seven? Broncos back come the Cavaliers.
Badger has it on the right wing, rips through the middle,
kind of a wild shot up misses everything. Gally comes
out with the rebond for the Broncos. Gallie looks to push,
gets it to the right wing. Now dil will try

(35:14):
a three no good. Great box out from Hamming. He
gives a way to ligging, ligging with a long skip,
bounce past the biger.

Speaker 3 (35:21):
Now back out to Miller, Hamming up top.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
He'll try a three no good Ligan had the inside position,
gets it back, goes up locked by Gaully, out comes Stewart.
In the open court one on one against Hammon, draws
a little bit of a bunk, plays.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
Through it in scores. William Stewart having a nice second quarter.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
Here thirty five eighteen till Kathie leads it by comes
byger Ider up top Hitchins. Hitchens goes to the left
hand draws. The double team tries to get rid of
the balls knocked out and they're gonna have a traveling violation.
He got caught in the middle on what they wanted

(36:00):
to call there, and they're going to turn it back
over the Broncos. It's a good effort from Western Brown
there on the defensive end. Cox and stone King returned
for Hammon and Ligan. Four forty five play first half.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
We're what the records were most field goal attempts and
a half is these two teams are putting them up shape, Tyle.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
We're going to go the other way off arm from
great Braydon dealing and really great. They let both both
guys kind of play on the on ball there early on,
and yeah they did that time they got deal for
the push off.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
One's kind of been beating and end of that and
trying to take a chart push off and that time
he got it called.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
Against Western Western Brown.

Speaker 2 (36:44):
Back to the man, the man one Miller just simply
bullies his way down the right side, gets all the
way to the rim and lays it in. One miller
with five thirty seven eighteen calves on top. That comes
Western Brown Stewart on the right side, his shot up.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
No good.

Speaker 2 (36:59):
Kitchens with the rebound for ChIL Coffee, tries to give
it the miller knock the way momentarily the calves get
it back now one miller left hand ribble, nice gump
off the cam Bager and he lays it in.

Speaker 3 (37:12):
Give Ron Miller the assist.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
Badger down with eight Chilocoffee pushes the lead back up
over twenty at thirty nine eighteen, I comes deal shot up,
misses everything.

Speaker 3 (37:23):
Hitchin ties it out the stone King in the open court.
Stone King lays it in.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
Nivalier's doing a good job of transitioning and getting easy ones.

Speaker 3 (37:33):
And we're gonna have a full time out on the floor.
We'll take it with them.

Speaker 2 (37:37):

Speaker 2 (38:30):
And then Friday night we'll be right back here again
as McLean will return us to fac play and again
as if you weren't with us.

Speaker 3 (38:38):
In the pregame, I was saying, chilcoffee.

Speaker 2 (38:40):
Now with the season sleeps overt Courthouse and Hillsborough find
themselves at four and three and all by themselves in
the third spot of the fac Yeah, Greg, I mean goodness,
not a whole lot to say other than wow, But
we've been kind of waiting for this kind of offensive
explosion for Chilihacke.

Speaker 4 (38:57):
Yeah, I mean, Western's just kind of takes a lot
of quick shots of you there. They're not running a
lot offense. They're pushing it up transition or just trying
to one on one and Chilicothe's just turning those misshots
into transition easily with their athleticism.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
Out of the time out Jamison brings it up. Now
it's Steward up top. He'll try it block. I couldn't
tell Cox got a piece of that. They're gonna say no,
missed everything, So ChIL Coffee will get the basketball by.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
Stone King up the right side, gives way to Hitchins.

Speaker 2 (39:30):
Hitchens drives to the right hand, draws a second defenders pass,
is knocked away and and taken away by Tyler hick
Up comes Jamison to the right hand dribble.

Speaker 3 (39:41):
Now Her retreats and goes behind the back and resets.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
The Broncos calls for the high double ball screen plays
off of Gallie. Jamison gets all the way to the rim,
a little bit of a runner and got we have
a push shot does not go, but they're gonna have
a Chili Coffee foul.

Speaker 3 (39:55):
It's like they get.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
Stone King here, that's gonna send jet Amos in to
the free throw line. Jamison, a five eleven senior, comes in,
averaging ten points five assists per ballgame. First free throw
no good. So tough started the free throw line for
the Broncos as well. You two out of five. Jamison

(40:22):
will get one more chuck it free throw up. That
one's good. Forty one to nineteen. We've gone under three
minutes to go here in the first half. Coxs will
walk it up for the Cavaliers right side. It's Hitchens,
Hitchens up top. Stone King thought about the three. Now
drives hard of the right hand, kicks out. Hitchins will

(40:42):
try a right wing three.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
Too strong.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Fight for the loose ball, and I think the Cavaliers
touched the last good hustle from both teams. There. Ball
goes flying in the stands, last touched by Chilikathy. So
the Broncos will take possession. Coach Fraser calls out the
set is. Jamison walks it up across the timeline. Now
they bring Gaully off of a screen down to the block.

(41:06):
They bring Harmon up top. That's where they'll go with
the Harmon. He'll try a three, no good. Stewart runs
down the offensive rebound gives Western Brown another possession. Stewart
drives hard to the left hand all the way to
the rim, lays it up no good Bager with the
rebound will look the push. Badger to the right hand
all the way to the rim. Shot up on a
glass and good. Cam Biger shows off that versatility where

(41:29):
when he defensive rebounds he can really start to break.

Speaker 3 (41:32):
And that time he goes coast to code. Cam loves
to take it to the hole.

Speaker 2 (41:36):
Forty three nineteen Calves on top left side, it's hit
hit guarded by Hitchers, goes.

Speaker 3 (41:44):
The right hand dribble.

Speaker 2 (41:45):
Now back up top Jamison, Jamison high post gally, he'll
take the elbow jump or too strong.

Speaker 3 (41:50):
Cocks at the rebound.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
Caden to look the push, brings it back out, turns
and sees the signal from coach. Beard gives the Hitchens
up top. Hitchens goes left side. Stone King will try
a left wing three and he's got it. Cooper stone
King his third triple of the night. I have him
un officially for thirteen points in the Calves lead at

(42:13):
forty six nineteen.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
Cabs having a game. I guess in a long time.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
Jamison has it up top he'll play high ball stream
of Gally, stone King fights through how Jamison goes downhill
and he loses it, but Gaully picks it up and
lays it in the right spot at the right time
for Connor Gally and we're gonna have a timeout.

Speaker 3 (42:36):
On the four. It is short and we'll stay here,
you know. Overall, overall too.

Speaker 2 (42:41):
The thing that I don't want to overlook because you know, obviously,
when you see forty six points, you talk offense. But
I don't want to overlook the defensive effort because I
know you and I have felt a couple of times
in the last what two to three weeks we're like
man chilli Coffee's defended pretty well, but they haven't wrapped
it up on the defensive.

Speaker 3 (42:57):
Last I can only remember a couple offensive rebounds for us.

Speaker 4 (43:01):
I agree, and but size wise we match up pretty well.
Western and uh, I mean what, Western's a little bit
like Chill cothif you at times. But when they come
across the timeline, they're looking for the first chance to
go one on one. They're not running a lot of
set offense, and when they're getting down the lane, they're
kind of a little bit out of control and putting
up some wild shots and and we we have done

(43:22):
a good job. Jill got a good job on the
defensive boards. That really wasn't a rebound. It just looked
like a stealing right through Cam's legs, and they picked
it up and put it in. But I think Coach
Beard just wanted the time out to get a.

Speaker 3 (43:31):
Couple of subs in. He got Netter in the game,
got Carte back in the game. Out of the time out.
Chilia coffee possession.

Speaker 2 (43:40):
One minute to play here in the first half, it's
been all chili coffee from the tip Cox, there's left side.

Speaker 3 (43:46):
Hamm and now up top Carte, Liggan, Ligan over to the.

Speaker 2 (43:52):
Right side of Cox. See if the Cavaliers are patient.
At forty five seconds, let's see how much clock they'll run. Well,
Miller gets into the middle. Shot up good one Miller,
he has seven forty eight twenty one calves on top.
That comes Jamison, guarded by Miller, goes through the legs.
That'll stop and go. Now Sutton on the left has it.

(44:14):
Now it's up top. Sand Off.

Speaker 3 (44:16):
Gives way to Galli Gaull.

Speaker 2 (44:17):
He'll try a left point three and he's got it.
Connor Gaully, Bronco's leading scorer, comes in averaging about eighteen
to night now has seven forty eight twenty four.

Speaker 3 (44:28):
The Calves have doubled up the Broncos eight seconds of counting.

Speaker 2 (44:33):
Miller high ball stream from netter left hand ribble, now
steps back, tries to three.

Speaker 3 (44:38):
No good.

Speaker 2 (44:39):
Fight for the loose ball. Miller gets it back, tries
to throw it up. He hits it, but it's gonna
be no good. Good call, no good, and we have
come to halftime. Chili Coofee forty eight, Western Brown twenty four,
Shane Colmbs and Greg Biggins.

Speaker 3 (44:53):

In this station, welcome back to Chilicoffee High School.

Speaker 2 (48:12):
Here in the LSB Hattan Memorial Gymnasium. Shane Combs, Greg
Bigham sitting courtside here at Thomas M.

Speaker 3 (48:17):
Cup at court.

Speaker 2 (48:18):
It's been all Chili Coffee Cavaliers tonight as they lead
Western Brown forty eight to twenty four. Here at halftime
and Greg, let's take a look at the numbers. There
some really good shooting and some good shooting across the
board from a lot of different individuals.

Speaker 3 (48:33):
Yeah, no doubt about it. Look at Western Brown.

Speaker 4 (48:36):
First, I had them nine of twenty six from the
field for a thirty four percent. They are three of
twelve of the three point line, three of six from
the free throw line, so not bad. They shot a
little better in the second quarter. They cut down on
their turner. They had six quick turnovers, wind up with
eight in the half. The Cavs was six turnovers. But

(48:57):
the Cavs certainly have shot it well tonight at time,
we have them nineteen of thirty one, sixty one percent shooting.
They're six out of twelve from the three point line.
That's an even fifty percent from the three point arc,
and they're four or four perfect from the foul and
so you can't shoot a whole lot of vetternan gaps
at maybe a few turnovers there, but that's just because
of the up tempo. They're getting it out and going

(49:18):
with it.

Speaker 3 (49:18):
Now.

Speaker 2 (49:19):
I agree, and you know, on the defensive end, uh,
they did an outstanding job. We highlighted coming into the game, Gallie,
Stewart and Jamison three of the top guys, and honestly
Gray they haven't played poorly. I have William Stewart at
nine points, Connor Gaully at seven Jet Jamison at six,
but then just one for stand for one for Deal.

(49:40):
I haven't been able to get in the offense outside
of their big three. And then for the Cavaliers, as
you said, as you'd imagine with the numbers that Greg
had just shared with us, got a lot of different
chilicoffee players getting in the act.

Speaker 11 (49:52):
Here.

Speaker 2 (49:52):
Cooperstone King had three triples in the first half. He
currently has thirteen points, Cam Badger with ten, Cayden Cox
with eight, one, Miller with seven, Hitchens has three, Hamming
with five, and then Carte Liggan with two, So one two, three, four, five, six,
seven calves in the scoring column. Eight different calves have

(50:14):
played in the game. And I'd say Coach Beard has
to just be a static in terms of the way
his guys have responded on a Friday, Saturday, Monday, a
lot of basketball.

Speaker 3 (50:25):
He's got to feel good about the energy level.

Speaker 4 (50:27):
Yeah, I'm sure they said, hey, let's uh, let's just
come out and play. We don't know a lot about
these guys are coming along trip, let's just go play.
And uh it's kind of like it's not I won't
say it's an AAU game or a summer game, but uh,
it's been that kind of tempo and it's fit right
into the caps and if they've moved the ball, well, uh,
you know, it's hard.

Speaker 3 (50:46):
They've gotten a hurry a couple of times, but.

Speaker 4 (50:48):
For the most part, I think they've done a nice
job of not getting too They've recognized the fact one
Miller and Cam Badger, Bob and Cooper have recognized the
fact that they could.

Speaker 3 (50:57):
Get to the hole and you know, many times four
to the whole.

Speaker 4 (51:00):
But tonight they're recognizing one on one and they're not
getting double team and they're able to get all the
way to the basket.

Speaker 3 (51:06):
The other thing I think the Calves have done. You
mentioned it earlier.

Speaker 4 (51:09):
Their defense has been good because you don't have to
play defense real long against Western. You just got to
play good defense for about eight seconds because they're going
to put it up. And I think that's helped. They've
got good on ball defense, and that's what you got
to do tonight. It's not like that they're having to
get down.

Speaker 3 (51:25):
And work and work and work. You know.

Speaker 2 (51:29):
The one that I don't have reg as assist and
I would say there's not very many chili cooffee shill
goals the night that I haven't been assisted on.

Speaker 3 (51:36):
I thought they shared the ball well, a lot of.

Speaker 2 (51:38):
Different kids involved, so that's exciting to watch as well.
Coming up about three minutes ago, we'll take one more
time out. We'll come back and get you set for
the second half.

Speaker 3 (51:48):
Stay with us. You're listening to Chili Coffee boys basketball

Speaker 2 (52:58):
Shane Colmbs, Great Bigem chul COTHI up on Western Brown
forty eight to twenty four.

Speaker 4 (53:05):
Whether they blew the horn for the second half the film, Yeah,
at the three minute mark, and the Calves quit shooting
there on the floor two minutes before the half's gonna
start Monday, there's not you know, Western's not even out there.
I'm not sure why they get the morn at the
three minute mark.

Speaker 3 (53:19):
There they go there. They're gonna keep it going there
now and then Western round coming out. Greg.

Speaker 2 (53:25):
As we said earlier tonight, we'll be back here Wednesday night,
Central crossing for the Calves and then McLean comes calling

Speaker 3 (53:57):
Check out the website there for podcast.

Speaker 2 (53:59):
You can get the feedback or should say, the playback
of all these games that we do on here.

Speaker 3 (54:04):
Go on there. It's well, it's well labeled. It's great.

Speaker 2 (54:08):
Said that it was kind of a weird scenario. They
were blowing the horn at three minutes to.

Speaker 3 (54:12):
Kind of confuse both teams. Now we're coming up on
about forty five seconds ago, and coach Beard to see
they're great.

Speaker 2 (54:19):
Looks like he's going to bring him back out the
way he started. Cox and Miller, Badger, Hammond and Stone
King Lestern Brown still in their huddle over by the bench. Great,
give me a kid, you know what I mean. Obviously
you feel like if you're till coffee or control of
the game, but you know this is the best you've
really played in terms of completeness. You don't want to
get sloppy here.

Speaker 3 (54:40):
You want to continue to play the game the right way.
Don't you feel like that's got to be the message
from pitch Beard.

Speaker 19 (54:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (54:44):
I think it's a hard thing to do. I think
these guys are kind of like thoroughbreds. They like to
get up and down the floor. They like to flip
that underhand pass and get everybody excited, and you can
develop some bad habits. But again, they haven't been ahead
twenty four points of a half for a long time,
so you do.

Speaker 3 (55:02):
I agree.

Speaker 4 (55:03):
I think you still got to run your offense, make
sure you're open if you start to the basket, make
sure it's not one on three. It's still those little
things that I think you've gotten better at. Don't go
back and get in some bad habits.

Speaker 3 (55:16):
But I think when you're up twenty four things have
gone too easy. It's hard to do. I agree.

Speaker 2 (55:21):
And two, I would say with all the games coming up,
Coach Beard probably wouldn't hate it if.

Speaker 3 (55:25):
He could get to go to his bench a little
bit absolutely.

Speaker 2 (55:27):
Earlier and a little bit more often. Here in the
second half, Western Brown basketball. To start the second half,
Bill has it against Miller behind the back a couple
of times.

Speaker 3 (55:36):
Now what top, it's Jamison left side.

Speaker 2 (55:39):
It's harming for three shot, no good, good hustle for
Stewart on the offensive rebound. But they're going to say
you pushed off to go get it, and they're gonna.

Speaker 4 (55:46):
Go the other way, and that was a pretty tough
three to take after a couple of passes, so works
into Chilicothie's favor.

Speaker 2 (55:58):
Back on the Cavaliers, Jan Miller has it, brings it up,
goes right side the Badger. Now he goes left, point
to ham and Hammon looks download of Cox. Good cut
without the basketball, cocks up off the rim. No, Good
gets it back, goes right back up at the left
hand and puts it in. Cayden Cox into double figures
with him fifty to twenty four, and they're gonna have

(56:20):
a back quarter of file Miller a little over aggressive.
Kas Beard likes the effort there, fifty twenty four tabs
on top. Still will inbound for the Western Brown and
I think he's got a cut there on the neck

(56:42):
where they look down to the bench there, and it's
gonna force deal to check out and Sutton will return
to the line up. Talked about Brady Sutton there in
the first half, the outstanding quarterback of the Broncos in
the fall of high powered all offense that Greg and
I got to watch. Jamison brings it into the scrimmage.

(57:06):
Erry gives his way to Galli. Gally lost his footing
but able to get it off to Sutton. Sutton off
a ball screen from Gaway, stopped there by Badger. Now
Stewart has it up top back to Jamison. Pretty good
effort from Cavaliers defensively here in the early going to
the third quarter. They run a little iverson screen action.
Stewart has it up on the right point, goes off

(57:27):
to the right side.

Speaker 3 (57:28):
That's suddon.

Speaker 2 (57:30):
Sutton on the back door to Steward. Good two man game,
good force facing Stuart lays it in eleven for Stuart.
Fifty twenty six calves on top stone King right back
on the right corner.

Speaker 3 (57:44):
Three no good.

Speaker 2 (57:45):
Badger goes up offensive rebound to win another possession. Now
Cox has it out top Cox off a ball screen
from Badger. Cut off there on the dribble. Now one
Miller will penetrate to the right hand, gets all the
way to the rim, lost his footing, shot up, No good.

Speaker 3 (58:00):
Gets it back and puts it in. It's cam. Badger's
just out working the Broncos. Fifty two twenty six calves
in front.

Speaker 2 (58:08):
I comes Stewart tries to penetrate, he loses it, out
comes stone King with it Calves have numbers Badger all the.

Speaker 3 (58:15):
Way to the rim and lays it in.

Speaker 2 (58:18):
Fourteen for cam Badger. Fifty four twenty six Calves on top.
Six minutes ago, third quarter, Jamison brings it up arded
by Stone. Can now give his way to Gauley. Gawley
tried to go back door. Von Miller does a good
job on Sutton. Stewart haies it up top. Now it's
right side Harmon. He'll try a free and he got it.

Speaker 3 (58:41):
Harmon. First basket of the night does a three pointer
fifty four to twenty nine chill a coffee. Miller left
hand dribble, gives way to Cox. He goes right hand
dribble into the middle, gets all the way to the rim.

Speaker 2 (58:54):
Kind of cup the basketball, Greg, because he went through
the double triple team and laid it in with the
off hand.

Speaker 3 (58:59):
Kan Cox show off a nice right hand this sevenon
back the other way.

Speaker 11 (59:04):
Just like that.

Speaker 2 (59:04):
It's Jamison back and forth as we go. As Greg said,
not a lot of long possessions.

Speaker 3 (59:09):
The high scoring affair.

Speaker 2 (59:11):
A lot of it has to do with the back
and four tempo fifty six thirty one Calves. Miller right
hand dribbled between the legs now pulls up right elbow,
No good.

Speaker 3 (59:23):
Stewart with the rebound.

Speaker 2 (59:25):
Jamison will look to push for the Broncos, going hard
to the right hand through the legs now goes back
to the left. Now he'll retreat and the Broncos will
look to reset. Dolly has it up top hard drive
to the right hand, up off the glass.

Speaker 3 (59:39):
No good.

Speaker 2 (59:40):
Stone King with the defensive rebound for the cave, he'll
look the push middle cut off there thought about a
left wing three back out the Bacher now one Miller will.

Speaker 3 (59:50):
Reset the caves. Hawkes had it.

Speaker 2 (59:53):
Now gives the stone King left corner to Hammond. Back
to stone King. Stone King will try a left wing.
No good Jamison with the revamp. Jamison give way to Stewart.
Now into the corner. Harna all the way to the
rim shot up blocked by him and Sutton comes out

(01:00:15):
with it and before the three pointer for Gauli we're.

Speaker 3 (01:00:19):
Gonna have a time out Western Brown four oh eight
short time out.

Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
We'll stay here. So four oh eight fifty six thirty one.
And we talked about there at the half. I wanted
to see Chilicothie come out and keep the energy so
hard on the.

Speaker 4 (01:00:31):
Defensive end, I feel like they have they have, They've
gotten a couple quick on shots, and I think that's
and I think Pat's working real hard here. That one
made some great moves and one probably went one on
to forced it a little bit on his shot. I mean,
you're up twenty five and Lance took a pretty quick three,
and I think you know, obviously he's one of the

(01:00:52):
best three point shooters. I think it's just Pat saying, hey,
back to what you were talking about, don't still get
in bad habits.

Speaker 3 (01:00:57):
Let's make a couple of passes here.

Speaker 4 (01:00:59):
Make sure you've got something going on, because really, especially
Kayden has been able to get to the bucket easy.

Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
And you put the ball to Glave so is Cam
fifty six thirty one caves on top. As we come
out of the time out four oh eight remaining third quarter,
it's going to be Western Brown basketball. They run America's
play there for the baseline. Ob get Jamis in a
three and misses everything. Cox has the rebound for Chili Cofee.

(01:01:25):
Cox brings it up the right side, throws it up
top to Badger. Badger thought about a three momentarily now
gives the Cox and they'll go play two man game.

Speaker 3 (01:01:35):
Cox all the way to the rim, to the left hand,
raise it up and in. Cox was six in the quarter.
Fourteen in the game, fifty eight to thirty one.

Speaker 2 (01:01:43):
Chili cofee By a bunch back comes Jamison, larded by
cart Liggan who's checked into the game. Looks like Noah
Nett are also down here on the scores table, ready
to check in sand it for drives hard to the rim,
tough shot off kind of the wrong, gets it back
to the right hand and scores. That's his first field goal.
Has three on the evening. Fifty eight to thirty three

(01:02:06):
Chilicopy Miller high entry to Hammond, throws a clear cross
court to Cox. Cox gets the right hand that brings
it back to the left hand. Shot up on the rim,
just rims out. But he's gonna get void and go
to the line. You said it, Greg, He's just able
to get wherever he wants.

Speaker 4 (01:02:23):
He goes, yes, and he's good at that. But against
it's the defense tonight. It's on one on one. He's
they're not getting a lot of help side and one
on one against Kayden Cox going to the hoops tough
to defend him.

Speaker 2 (01:02:37):
Caiden at the free throw line first shot and good
Kitchens returns to the lineup. Noah Netterer returns to the lineup,
so Chilicopy has netter Ligan, Cocks, Kitchens and Badger. As
Cox prepares to shoot his second free throw, shot up

(01:03:03):
is all the way around the rim and in.

Speaker 3 (01:03:08):
Cayman.

Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
Cox now with eight and a quarter, sixteen in the game,
sixty to thirty three. It's been all Cavaliers. From the
tip back comes Jamison. Jamison looks to give the Harmon.
Harmon drives dumps it off the golly blocked by Noah
Nutter and I think on the block shot it Cock
catches a piece of golly.

Speaker 3 (01:03:26):
And it's going to turn it back over. Nice defense
from knowing that you in the Hitchens.

Speaker 2 (01:03:34):
They give it back to Cox and he'll bring it
up two forty six to play in the third quarter.
Badger for the right hand and on the drive, got
it poked away from behind and looks like we have
a foul on that reach in there. Looking across there,

(01:03:55):
I think they got golly. Hamon's going to return, replacing
Cocks with Chili Coffee. Then it's Stewart returning to the
lineup replacing Gaully. For the Broncos, it'll be Chili coffee
ball on the obi underneath. They'll screen the screener out

(01:04:19):
of the triangle'll set Hammon gets it right corner jumper
no good. Liggan runs down the loose ball and the
ball comes over my wife. Let's see last touched there by.
The Bronco's good hustle from ChIL coffee. So caives will
keep possession.

Speaker 4 (01:04:36):
But it's tough to block Carte lead and keep him
off the board just gets a hand on it. Kitchens
on the right hand dribble gives way to Hammon. Now
Natter down low draws the double team ball loose to
the floor. Badger down to the floor to get it first,
throws it up the Hitchens.

Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
Hitchens left hand dribble penetrate back the ligand now Ligan draws.
He's cut off there by amoson Hamm it'll take a
trash dribbles into the double team like out the badger.
Biger stop and go to the right baseline. He's going
to be called for the offensive file turnover back to

(01:05:14):
the Broncos. Two six third quarter dives up sixty to
thirty three. Deal returns the lineup for Western Brown. He
replaces Harman that we're set to go. Ball comes in bounds,

(01:05:35):
it'll be Bill to walk it up. Hitching's await at
half court there to pick him up. Defensively, deal dribbling,
try to the right hand. I posted Santa for trying
to go backdoor. Outstanding defense front car k Leggan working
hard against the back door cup. Couldn't control it. That
does knock it out of bound. So Western Brown basketball

(01:05:58):
underneath its own rim. It's a box set for the
Broncos cross screen action. Tried to get it to Stewart now,
so let's come out to the corner to get it Stoe.
It will drive hard, spin back locked by Netter. They're
gonna say, got him with the body, William Stewart. We'll

(01:06:20):
go to the free throw line and shoot too. Valuable
minutes for Netta row here.

Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
I know we both feel like he can give the
Cavs something down the stretch here this season. Yeah, good varsity.

Speaker 4 (01:06:30):
He's been playing a couple of quarters of jen I
think he played three quarters of jvs tonight, But yeah,
good varsity experiences for him.

Speaker 2 (01:06:38):
First free throw is good by Stuart, just like Braylen
Fletcher is gonna check in to the game, replacing Sander
front Stewart leads the Broncos and scoring this evening. Let's see,
I've got him for twelve free throw up makes it thirteen.

Speaker 3 (01:07:01):
Sixty thirty five. Calves on top Pourn there is going
to wllow.

Speaker 2 (01:07:11):
Altady had the ball, they said, so they're gonna hold
the sub they're'll say the suble's not there at the table, so.

Speaker 11 (01:07:18):
So uh.

Speaker 2 (01:07:20):
Carter Williams gonna check into the game here in just
a second. On the next dead ball to the Calves,
but they'll hold.

Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
Him one more time.

Speaker 2 (01:07:27):
Kitchens brings it up. Rte Liggan has it right in
front of the Chilicothie students. He drives hard to the
right hand and gets all the way to the rim.
Rte Liggan just explosive and everything he does, gets all
the way to the rim and lays it in good description.

Speaker 3 (01:07:43):
He is explosive. On the first step on the jump,
it has it. Pitches it to Jamison. He'll try a
three at the top of the key.

Speaker 2 (01:07:52):
No good pitching skies for the rebound out comes the
senior Kitchens behind the bike through the legs goes right
side to Liggan. Liggan up top Badger. Badger looks to
go one on one, splits the double team gets the
shot up on the rim. No Good, but it's gonna
draw the file and go the free throw line. Coach

(01:08:14):
Beard continues to go deeper into his bench. We're here
after this first free throw attempt, they're gonna wave in
harder Williams and Shawn Brown. I know you and I
have been really excited on the Shawn's growth at the
JV level. Really shot the ball well.

Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
This past week or two.

Speaker 2 (01:08:34):
We're gonna get Cam Badger's jersey tough down there, and
then now we're ready to go for some free throws.

Speaker 3 (01:08:44):
Free throw up. It's good.

Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
So to reset the line up. Now you've got Hitchins, Brown, Badger,
Ligan and Netter. So as we talked about Coach Beard
over the last quarter plus, here for so many games
coming up. Great, great time to go into the bench
and get some minutes. Second three though, No Good and
net are fighting for the loose ball and he comes
up with it, puts it back up. No Good still

(01:09:15):
fighting for the for the rebound and the Broncos come
out with it hit brings it up for Western Brown,
goes left side and cletcher the top.

Speaker 3 (01:09:25):
It's deal. Now it's Donaldson Harmon. He'll try a deep
free and he got it.

Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
Braden Harmon second three of the second half, sixty three
thirty eight Chila Coffee. Brown now running the point for
ChIL Coffee, gives way to Hitchins. Hitchins drives the right hand,
goes out. Brown will try a three. No good Donaldson
of Western Brown with the rebound.

Speaker 3 (01:09:51):
Up the left side.

Speaker 2 (01:09:52):
It's still pushing horror and I think he well. I
one official I double dribble.

Speaker 3 (01:09:58):
Another one had a blocking foul that I think the
double dribble happened out on the wing. Greg and it's
gonna turn it back over to Chilicoffe leaves combine. These
two teams have put up thirty two threes tonight an
NBA game.

Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
Yeah, twenty seconds in counting Chilicoffye. We'll see if they
take the final shot. Here.

Speaker 3 (01:10:18):
Williams has it on the right wing, gives way to Hitchins.

Speaker 2 (01:10:21):
Hitchins through the leg, bax it up Carte Ligan has
it up night nice crossover dribble two to rent and
lays it in.

Speaker 3 (01:10:28):
Whole is correct Cartelegan now is six sixty five thirty
eight a half court all.

Speaker 2 (01:10:34):
The way down there off the backboard, and missus just
off the front iron. And we've come to the end
of three sixty five thirty eight. All chili coffee this evening.

Entering the fourth quarter with Chilikapie on top of Western
Brown sixty five thirty eight and Greg it looks like
again here in the fourth quarter, going to get a
lot of minutes for some of the younger guys. Is
Brown and williams ornaining the game. Hitchens the Ligan and netter.

(01:12:20):
Hitchens has it on the right side. He's trapped there.
Now it's Brown. Ligan has it on the left wing
of top Hitchens. Now Brown has it on the right wing.
Two three zone from the Broncos. They hit Netter at
the elbow inside out. Browns three no, good, no, and
better with the offensive rebound and lays it in a
great effort from the six to six sophomore and he

(01:12:42):
gets himself into the scoring column. Sixty seven thirty eight
tives on top Broncos back on the offensive end. Hit
comes up top Brown, knoxite away gold hustle from Tyler
hit to get it back for the broncos Son keeps possession.
Now it's Donaldson on the right side. Wanted Fletcher on

(01:13:07):
the shuffle cut not there. Now dyl has it up top.
He drives the left hand dribble shot up No good
Bliggan with the rebound for Chilicothe three on two gives
way to Williams.

Speaker 3 (01:13:18):
Williams up off the glass of good.

Speaker 2 (01:13:20):
Carter Williams give the assist to Carte Ligging and Carter
Williams enters the scoring column as well. Inside out dribble
from Bill blocked by matter.

Speaker 3 (01:13:31):
Out comes cart Lyggan all alone out now good.

Speaker 2 (01:13:34):
Hustle from Donaldson from behind knocks the ball away. Good
sportsmanship there, good heart, firel and went for the ball.
We've seen cart Ligging certainly make some highlight rules there
in the open court. Give Donaldson of Western Brown credit.
Didn't quit on the play, hustled back, went for the
ball and had some contact there. And we're going to

(01:13:57):
have a full time out on the floor from Western Brown.
Let's go and take it with them.

You know, Greg, we did. We got cut off a
little bit going into fourth quarter. Number one.

Speaker 2 (01:15:00):
Lies Pilicati continued to shoot the ball pretty well in
the third quarter overall, but really.

Speaker 3 (01:15:04):
I didn't think they did. But they were still seven
to fifteen in the third quarter.

Speaker 4 (01:15:09):
I had them tonight twenty six or forty six touring
in the fourth quarter on the whole game, so they're
over fifty percent of night.

Speaker 3 (01:15:17):
I don't want Jenks them. They're seven of eighty five
right here, But we don't want Jinkscarte.

Speaker 2 (01:15:22):
Out of the time out. It'll be Carte Ligan going
to the free throw line. First free throw is good.
You know, we talked so much about this young man
on the football field, but man, the more I watch
him on the basketball board, he's going to be league impressive.

Speaker 4 (01:15:37):
Yeah, of course I can keep forgetting he's a freshman
early in the year, but I'm thinking he's just a
great football player and he's an athlete on the basketball court.

Speaker 3 (01:15:46):
But as he's going on, he's going to be a
heck of a basketball player, no question. Just so physically gifted.

Speaker 2 (01:15:52):
Second free throw, no good. Seventy thirty eight cabs in front.
Donaldson has it up pop guarded by netter and he
rows it away. Good denial there from Carter Williams on
the wing forces the turnover is back to the Cavaliers.
You know we mentioned e Shawn Brown now running the
point guard. The sophomore plays JV point and as the

(01:16:13):
year goes on he keeps getting better as well.

Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
Shouldn't we have a running clock? Really shot the ball
wells now thirty five. I believe it is.

Speaker 2 (01:16:24):
Hitchens has it up top high post, entry to Ligan,
tried to go back to Hitchins, Alex Carter, Williams cross
court to Brown high post, tried to get it to
ligand taken away by Fletcher out comes western Brown into
the open court lay up up by a lathe of
no good out come. The calves with the transition opportunity.

(01:16:45):
Williams through the legs leaves it for Hitchins. Hitchens will
try a three. No good, Dad are up over the
top offensive rebound and coach it back.

Speaker 3 (01:16:54):
Noah, that are with great activity.

Speaker 2 (01:16:57):
Active on the offensive glass and coach Beard the coaching
half excited about that. Seventy two thirty eight, five and
a half minutes to play up top Donaldson over to.

Speaker 3 (01:17:09):
The right side on the wing.

Speaker 2 (01:17:10):
There I was hit three point, no good outcomes liging
with it Ligan cut off there by Harmon gives way
to Hitchins, Hitchens left side Brown for three.

Speaker 3 (01:17:22):
Then he got it through Don Brown.

Speaker 2 (01:17:24):
As we said, been shooting it really really well with
the last couple of weeks at the JV level. Knocks
down one there and now the clock, well, we'll run
Harmon on the runner gets it up and in Bradon.
Harmon's had a nice second half. He has eight points
here on the evening haul in the second half, seventy
five forty.

Speaker 3 (01:17:46):
Now once it's the.

Speaker 2 (01:17:47):
Thirty five, I believe they've got to get it back
under thirty to stop the clock as normal. Kitchens three,
no good out comes. Harmon throws it ahead to hit
and frozen a lot right idea. I just didn't execute
it here and again and if you're not familiar with
the continuous clock, the team goes up thirty five, they'll
run it on all dead ball situations other than timeouts
and injuries, and then it has to go back under

(01:18:10):
thirty two to go back to normal basketball. So four
to twenty in County Williams will walk it up for
the Cavaliers, two three zone for the Broncos, right side,
Hitchens up top Brown, they'll swing it left side Williams
cross court, Hitchins out of Brown. Good patients from the

(01:18:33):
Cavaliers trying to get licking in the high post or
netter in the short corner. Hitchens has it on the
left wing, penetrates, hits noa netter on the baseline.

Speaker 3 (01:18:43):
He goes up and under to the right hand and
missed it. Backs up to Broncos Ales Donaldson right corner,
misses everything. Williams with the rebound for the Calves.

Speaker 2 (01:18:56):
The lefty pushes it hard to the left hand, dribble,
little stop and go drops a bounce pass off the
Carte Legan. What a beautiful feed Cartey legging with two
more give Williams the assist seventy seven forty gonna get
a quick yeah, just official time out. Trying to get

(01:19:17):
some guys in Montana. Wells is going to check into
the game for the first time. Good officiating there with
the running clock, just to get some guys from playing time,
get them in the game. Hit goes right side. That's
Latham now up top. Wells thought Hitchins had a steal

(01:19:37):
on the reversal, but Bonco's keep possession.

Speaker 3 (01:19:40):
Now lath them up top. Gives back to Wells.

Speaker 2 (01:19:43):
Fletcher on a cut gets it in the middle shot
fake steps through shot up on the rim. No good
out comes Brown with an opportunity and transition, drops it
off to Hitchins, Hitchens lays it in it Victor Hitchens
for the baskets five on the night, give the assist
to Brown. Seventy nine forty Calves on top. Donaldson will

(01:20:06):
try a left wing three and he's got it. Josh
Donaldson a six ' to one junior. That's his first
bucket of the evening. Seventy nine forty three two twenty
the left. In the game, it's been all Cavaliers from
the tip. Brown has its way up top right wing Hitchens,
Hitchens to Netter in the short corner. He tried to

(01:20:28):
hit the cutting ligan, knocked away by good rotation from
the Broncos defense. So two minutes and still counting because
of the continuous clock. Calves will have it underneath, out
to Hitchins, now out the ligan. Williams has it in
the left corner. He's trapped there, lost it for a second,

(01:20:50):
gets it back now. Brown will try a three from
the right wing.

Speaker 3 (01:20:53):
No good, good.

Speaker 2 (01:20:54):
Box out from Fletcher rebound for the Broncos co He'll
bring it across the timeline. One thirty five remaining in
the game. Donaldson on the right wing, guarded by netter.

Speaker 3 (01:21:09):
Up top its Wells. Wells goes right side Latham.

Speaker 2 (01:21:14):
Latham nice cut away from the basketball there from the
hit the Cavaliers lost him Tyler hit lays it in
seventy nine forty five, one ten left in the game.
Western Brown still in the two three, ligging right there
at the high post, gets it. Now comes the out

(01:21:36):
of Williams. Good way to Hitchins. Hitchings down in the
short corner to noa netter back out to Brown. Now
Hitchins not about a three, makes the extra pass Peter
Williams for three. No good netter up high for the rebound,
ends up bringing it down and gets it knocked out
of bounds. Great extra pass, Really unselfish basketball from Hitchins

(01:21:57):
to give up the three to get a better look
for Williams.

Speaker 3 (01:21:59):
Just a day. No, Well, he keeps them working on
the fact he six sixty sixty seven. He can't bring
the ball down. Boy, he's gotten better, there's no question
about it.

Speaker 2 (01:22:10):
Coach Beard asking his guys to bring it all the
way out and not going to take another shot at
the basket. Brown dribbling it out there now those the
Hitches gives way to Williams there's gonna play a little
catch here. Froncos will get a little token pressure, but
for the most part, the Cats are going to go
and dribble it out. I'll standing night for the Chilicoffee Cavaliers.

(01:22:30):

forty five win over Western Brown. Look forward to talking

Speaker 3 (01:25:29):
Shane Holmes and Greg big I'm coming see you on
a winning night.

Speaker 2 (01:25:32):
For the Chilicoffee Tavaliers as they beat the Western Brown
Broncos seventy nine to forty five. As the Calves will
push the record eight nine as they try to inch
closer and closer to five hundred. For the Broncos, they
fall to five and thirteen. Greg, as we look into

(01:25:54):
the numbers that, I don't know if I cheated your
time there.

Speaker 3 (01:25:57):
I know overall that they have to be really good.
Did you have a time figure those up there? I
think so. I had them for eleven twos. That's twenty two.

Speaker 4 (01:26:05):
Six threes, gives them forty and hopefully five three throws, yeah, five,
so that gives them the forty five. I had them
total on the game for Western Brown tonight, seventeen of
forty eight. I didn't get two percentage, but seventeen of
fifty it would be what thirty four percent, So they
were they were in the high thirty percentage wise shooting tonight,

(01:26:28):
six of nineteen. They put up nineteen threes, just under
thirty three percent from the three point line and from
the foul line one, two, three, four, five out of
eight for Western Brown. I had them with twelve turnovers
in the ball game. They had quite a few, but
not a lot there in the fourth quarter for the
Cavaliers tonight, as Shane just told you to move the
record to eight and nine, I had them with nine

(01:26:50):
turnovers on the night. Shooting, they stayed over fifty percent
the entire night. They over fifty in the first quarter,
same in the second quarter. They wiped up the game
thirty two of fifth fifty eight total for the Cavs tonight,
fifty five percent shooting. I'm sure Coach Beard will take
that anytime, as well as I shoot fifty five percent

(01:27:11):
seven of twenty one from the three point line for
the Cavaliers thirty three percent. Shot at quite a few
there towards the end of the game and after they
were up around forty or fifty percent, and from the
foul line, good free throw shooting eight of ten, that's
eighty percent. So fifty five percent from the field total,
thirty three from the three point line, eighty percent under
ten turnovers.

Speaker 2 (01:27:31):
You get a running clock. Yeah, I tell you, that's
the row. The numbers kind of tell the story, and
you look, Coach Beard gets a chance to go to
the bench kind of.

Speaker 3 (01:27:41):
Early and often.

Speaker 2 (01:27:42):
Cavon Pleasant wasn't in uniform the night, so the Cavs
had one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine
to ten chilicoffee Cavaliers in uniform the night, and they
all score. Let's take a look at the scoring because
it was really really balanced. Looks like Cayden Cox will
lead Ravaliers in scoring tonight with sixteen points, Cam Badger

(01:28:03):
with fifteen, Cooper stone King.

Speaker 3 (01:28:06):
With thirteen s. You certainly take that balance.

Speaker 2 (01:28:09):
And then Carte Liggan adds nine seven for one Miller,
five for Victor Hitchins, five for Andrew Hammond, three for
Isshaan Brown, four for Noa Netter and two for Carter Williams.
So again you add that up, that's the seventy nine
total for the Broncos. William Stewart comes in their leading

(01:28:31):
score to thirteen points. He was the only Bronco in
double figures. Eight apiece for Jet Jamison and Braden Harmon
their leading score. Connor Galley he only had seven points
to night all in the first half, so the cav
did a good job there defensively. Three for Austin Centafer
and let's see three for Josh Donaldson, two for Tyler

(01:28:53):
Hitt and one for Braden dial aide that up you
get forty five. So Greg, this is kind of what
the doctors in terms of getting right back after that.
You know, the New Albany game remember they had the
three game winning streak. The new New Albany was going
to be quite a test. Come right back tonight you win,
and even though it's not technically a four game winning streak,

(01:29:13):
it certainly feels that way and you feel like the momentum.
So Wednesday night, I think the theme has to be
continuing to bring this energy to the home floor. And
all of a sudden, the five hundred marks right here
in sight as you're back to eight and nine.

Speaker 3 (01:29:27):
No doubt about it.

Speaker 4 (01:29:27):
This is this is just what's to agree what the
doctor order did a great job, got off to the
quick start. They saw their matchups that got to the
line pretty easy to got to the bucket, did their
matchups well and and it was you know, hey, what
was under thirty the other night, but you term to
come back with seventy nine points. I think that's a
season high and everybody like guys, a lot of guys played,

(01:29:51):
a lot of guys scored.

Speaker 3 (01:29:52):
Keeps everybody happy, no doubt about it. It see on
three four, I believe it is all right.

Speaker 4 (01:29:57):
Coach beartt joins us and coach we talked before played Friday,
you played Wednesday, You played Friday, you played Saturday almost
had you guys assume the kids got yesterday off you
come around.

Speaker 3 (01:30:08):
I don't know how much of a Scotting.

Speaker 4 (01:30:09):
Report you're even able to do with the team like Western,
But you know, I thought about mental energy tonight as
much as physical energy. But the kids came out and
played from the start. I thought they uh for a
game that gets like that, it can get out of control.
And for the most part, I thought they did a
nice job. They recognized when they had one on one,
didn't force it to maybe a time or two, but

(01:30:31):
that kind of game, it's easy to do.

Speaker 13 (01:30:32):
You know.

Speaker 4 (01:30:33):
You mentioned about a week ago about getting to the
second quarter and get my points. Got way ahead tonight,
and I like the kids mental part of the game,
and they kept doing the things that were serving them
well tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:30:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 19 (01:30:43):
That's called growth, right. You know, we've been preaching this
all day, all year long. I thought they did a
tremendous job. We jumped on them really quick. I think
this is the first night all of our shooters were
actually knocking down shots at the same time, and and
you get to see what kind of looks like when
guys all guys are in at.

Speaker 3 (01:31:00):
The same time.

Speaker 19 (01:31:02):
You know, just like you said, we've been in situations before.
We'll get up ten or fifteen. Now everybody wants to
go get theirs. I thought our kids did a really
good job of making extra passes tonight, understanding game situations,
and taking good shots. Yeah, halftime, we talked about falling
in love with a three point shot. I said, yes,
we hit several of those three point shots early, but

(01:31:22):
let's see if we can really get to the rim
and work inside out.

Speaker 3 (01:31:25):
And we were able to do that in the second
second half.

Speaker 2 (01:31:27):
You know, coach, with the offense as good as it
was tonight, it was easy and kind of fun over
here to look at the numbers.

Speaker 3 (01:31:33):
But I made the point that through all that, I
didn't want to.

Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
Take away from the defensive end because there's so many
times where the defense was leading the easy opportunities on
the other end, and one of your buggaboos has been
getting the stop not wrapping it up.

Speaker 3 (01:31:46):
I thought your.

Speaker 2 (01:31:46):
Defensive rebounding was really solid early and it was allowing
you out in transition.

Speaker 3 (01:31:50):
Talk defense with me here.

Speaker 19 (01:31:52):
Yeah, so we put a defensive playing together. We've watched
several films on Western Brown and their type of team
that likes to get it out quick sideline break and
just shoot threes, and they live or die by the threes.
And I thought we did a really good job of
stopping their transition three points by staying up the line,
which resulted in turnovers. I mean they were just turning
and throwing the basketball. We had hands in the passing lane,

(01:32:14):
and like you alluded to, we were able to get
out with some three on one and three on two,
and we were able to convert tonight too. We didn't
miss very many of those going to the basket, which
was a good sign as well.

Speaker 4 (01:32:23):
Coach, I don't I don't. I shouldn't even comment because
I'm not sure how you do this. But a transition game,
I'm sure you have guys you want to get out.
But one thing, because I'm an old, really old guy,
drives me crazy sometimes when two or three guys take
off and they don't rebound. And I thought the kids,
because they shot so quick, right, it wasn't you only
had to play defense a short time. But then, and
it follows up on Shane's comment that we didn't everybody

(01:32:45):
didn't take off, It was it was more organized. Guys
stayed down, got the rebound. Your spacing was great tonight.
It wasn't a guy taking off. And I don't know
how much you work if you want guys to release,
but I like the way they played that tonight.

Speaker 19 (01:32:55):
So we talk about this all the time. We're not
releasing until we actually have possession of the basket. Well,
and then once we have possession of basketball, these guys
know the lanes we want to be filled. We started
off the beginning of season assigning lanes for individuals to
go to, but as the season went on and they
started to kind of grasp and understand where we wanted
to get to. Now we're just whoever's closest, just take
off and go.

Speaker 4 (01:33:15):
When you mix it a lot nicer and you've got
six guys that can fill the lines.

Speaker 3 (01:33:19):
Yeah, it has done, doubt Yes, not like there's any
slow guys.

Speaker 19 (01:33:21):
And if I don't know if we had maybe one
or two turnovers in transition, which is a big step
for us, because you guys will follow us all year loan.
It seems like we get out in transition, we'll thought
over somebody's head or we'll throw it to somebody. But
tonight we're able to convert and capitalize on some of
those easy opportunities.

Speaker 3 (01:33:40):
Well, coach, it's.

Speaker 2 (01:33:41):
Been kind of a long road back. You know, you
lose the heartbreaker. I'm trying to go off memory here.

Speaker 3 (01:33:45):
To Jackson and Jackson and Miami Tase.

Speaker 2 (01:33:47):
Then you had the Portsmouth games. Probably wanted to let
get away a little bit. But then you know, now
now five hundred right there in sight. You come back
Wednesday night, another home game. That's a huge step for
your team here coming up. I assume the kids are
excited to continue the home stand here and try to
even the record.

Speaker 19 (01:34:04):
Yeah, they're They're liking thed hat and gym. I'll tell
you that it's nothing. There's no place like home was
what one said.

Speaker 3 (01:34:11):
But we are.

Speaker 19 (01:34:11):
We're playing pretty good basketball right now. I have a
magic number that I wrote down the beginning of season.
It was number twelve. I felt like we could win
twelve games looking at the schedule the beginning of season,
we had a tough stretch. The first six seven games
was very tough, most of them on the road, and
I felt like if we could just get through that
and learn some things the second half of the season

(01:34:32):
we could take advantage. And so far we played good
enough basketball. You mentioned Jackson and Miami Chase games. We
kind of had them with kind of let slip through
our hands. So we're still a working progress. We'll start learning.
But I really love what I've seen the night on the.

Speaker 3 (01:34:46):
Court, No question anything else for that. No, we'll left
the coach take off we got.

Speaker 4 (01:34:50):
He's got to be back here, ready to go Wednesday
night to Central Crossing, Central cross.

Speaker 3 (01:34:54):
Yes, I've seen them on film too. I feel it's
a good matchup for us. Excited to call. We'll be
back here Wednesday night. All right to you. I appreciate
you guys. Thank you, good job paving. Good game.

Speaker 2 (01:35:04):
Yeah, Coach Beard having the Cavaliers playing really good basketball
right now and they come out tonight and post seventy nine,
well great. Before we get out of here, I'll give
you one final comment coming back, it's kind of exciting,
you know, Wednesday night, Friday night, chance to push the
five hundred, then even over the five hundred mark.

Speaker 3 (01:35:21):
With a couple more wins here this week. I don't
know how.

Speaker 4 (01:35:24):
Center Crossing will play us if they and Western played
up tempo.

Speaker 3 (01:35:28):
They like Coach said, we have a lot of bunch.
They've got two or three guys can really so.

Speaker 4 (01:35:32):
But if it's an up tempo game again and we
can get these thoroughbreds running up down the court like
they did to night under control, I look forward.

Speaker 3 (01:35:39):
They've got a lot of confidence right now, things that
they're doing well.

Speaker 2 (01:35:42):
I'm excited. We'll be back here Wednesday night, so make
sure you stay with us. Remember you can get us
fourteen ninety WBX on the amside, ninety two point seven
FM or worldwide on iHeart again Wednesday night and Friday
night here Chilicothe on WBX. Well, thank you, Nathan back
in studio. Thank you Greg. I'm Shane Combe's final score
for the final time. It's a winning night for the

(01:36:03):
Shilicathi Cavaliers seventy nine forty five over Western Brown's Along everyone,
