Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time for Chilicompie High School basketball action on the
home of the Caps fourteen ninety wb e X powered
by Where Funeral Home, a Dina Health System and Holler
Funeral Home.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Nice question, Good evening everyone, and welcome to another basketball
Friday night action here.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
In the FA. See on Shane Holmes alongside Greg Vigan.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
We're alive from Chili Coopee High School as a night
the Blue Lions Washington Courthouse come calling and great, just
a few nights to go Chilipopee.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Able to finish the season.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Sleep of Hillsborough now another opportunity to get another FA
sleep fac Sleep because remember they have already knocked off
Courthouse on the road earlier this year. So glad to
bring it to you here on fourteen ninety w v X,
A M of course, ninety two point seven FM and worldwide.
iHeart and' right that's where I'll start with you. Just
Chilicoffee trending in the right direction. Certainly a momentum game

(00:55):
here tonight, a really big one in front of.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
A home crowd.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Yeah, going into a game to couple next week and
make up with McLain and a lot of that going
on and with games coming up, and they came off
that really disheartening lost to Bamy Tracey. They really had
a chance to win, but they won on Saturday night
against greenwew County came back to the I think one
of the most impressive wins on the road at Hillsboro
on Wednesday night. So you're right, momentum if it carries over,

(01:21):
I ain't Washington. Courthouse is a jecko on hyde of
the whole Southeast district, certainly in the FAC. I think
they can beat anybody in the FAC, or they could
lose to anybody. They're a team that you talked about it.
They won a lot of early games, haven't played as
well lately, least as far as the final score coming out.
But that was a close game. It seems like all
the FAC games with Chill Coothy have been close. But

(01:41):
this team comes in with eight wins, eight and ten,
and you know Courthouse always has athletes and Haythcock is the.

Speaker 5 (01:49):
Main guy down inside at six six.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
But I think it'll be a tough matchup.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
I think we need to get off to a good
start and.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
And take advantage.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
I thought the other night we used to hype that
with Hammon and certainly Caden Cox getting the Jones short
jumpers and Andrew Inside getting a lot of rebounds.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Besides a couple of threes.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Tonight you got Haycock in there, so we'll see how
that matches.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
We've got to make sure we box him out.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yeah, to set the table here in the fac Miami
Tray Centers weekend play still unbeaten overall and of course
unbeaten league play at five and zero, Jackson at five
and one, and then you know, we talked about it
being such a big standings game. The other night, Chilicoffee
able to move ahead of Hillsbrow's Chili Cooffee now at
three and three, where Hillsborough.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Dropped a two and four. But here's this Courthouse team
at three and four.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
So another standings game, another opportunity for ChIL Coffee to
move up, and exciting to see the improvement. I believe
it was what two and eight a year ago, already.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
At three and three, and.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
As you said, even in those losses, very very competitive,
with two of those losses coming to Miami Trace. So
you know, as you come into this second half of
the season getting ready for tournament play, I had to
pick out one thing that's really jumped out at me,
as Chili cooff, he's starting to take another step.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
It's how many contributions.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
They're getting from so many different kids, you know, six
seven different kids. Talk to me a little bit about that,
because I know early in the year you and I
just weren't sure how the idea identity of the team
was going to form.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Oh you lost one of your seniors, Daniel Sistem, who
was the guy who's going to bang around inside. It
took We've talked a lot about it. It limited your bench.
I like the starting five that they seem to be
playing well together, but I think what I like recently
is those guys off the bench, particularly carte Leggan. He's
an athlete, but all of a sudden, he's becoming that
athleticism is showing up in good decisions.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
He's going inside.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
I think he was in double figures a couple of
games ago.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
He's rebounded, he can get up in the air, and likewise,
Noah Netter has stepped in for a few moments, the
six to six sophomore a little bit from him as well,
and Hitchins. So those guys have got to spell a
little bit, and I think that's been an improvement. I
think that's starting five is making better decisions as far

(04:05):
as what they want to do offensively.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
But I like the bench.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
The bench was in a very extremely inexperienced and now
they're gaining a little bit that when one or two
of them come in, we're not getting we're not losing
as much with those guys come in and giving a spell.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
I couldn't agree more.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
And you know, you look at the schedule in the
team inside the E league play. This evening, Hillsboro travels
to Jackson and Miami Traces I believe at McLain and
then tomorrow night I assume that's a makeup I believe
I don't have out in front of me.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
I believe that's the Jackson Miami Trace first match up there.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
So that'll obviously be a huge, huge game inside league play.
Speaking the schedule, it's going to be a busy stretch
for Chilicothe. Tomorrow night, they're right back here at home
New Albany. Monday night, the reschedule with Western Brown, Wednesday
night reschedule with Central Crossing, next Friday night home with
McLean and then that Tuesday Logan elm So counting here tonight, one, two, three,

(05:00):
four or five six straight home games.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
And I know what, we'll have all those on the radio.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
I know lou Post is just gonna make a special
appearance on WBX.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
I was joking with you today a little bit.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
I believe he's gonna come and call the new Albany
and Logan Elm games with me, and then obviously Greg
and I'll be around on all the other ones here.
But talk to me about that stretch of home games.
I know early in the year we talked about all
the hours on the road and the long trips and
different things. What better time to start playing some of
your best basketball but to get this stretch at home.

(05:32):
Because Chilicoffee overall has been really good in this court. Yeah,
I think they play well at home.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
They have a big student section again tonight, not a
huge crowd, but obviously a good chillicothee following here tonight,
and it gets them going.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
I think it.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
It certainly picks them up those home games that.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
Are normally your Obviously you're familiar with the rim, familiar
with everything else going on, and and I think I
think they played well at home and they've got some
chances to you know which I said the other night.
They got a chance to they're six and eight. I'd
love to see him get up to five hundred.

Speaker 5 (06:04):
I think they got a shot over these next five
games to do that.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Coming up on about three forty to go here in
warm ups, we'll step aside for a quick time out.
We'll be back with tonight's starting lineups. You're listening to
Chilicoffee Boys basketball in fourteen ninety of youps.

(07:40):
and I've been really enjoying that, So make.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Sure you check that out. Tonight's action the Washington Courthouse.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Here at Chilicothee, let's take a look at the starting lineups.
Coach Beard at Chilicoffee's going to run him out there
the way he's been most of the year with the
three guard set senior one Miller at the point, joined
in the backcourt by sophomore Caden Cox and junior Cooper
stone King, and then of course on the front line
with the six three six four size of Cam Badger

(08:07):
and Andrew Hammond, respectfully, one more time for coach Beard.
That's Miller, Cox, stone King, Hammon and Badger. Over on
the Washington Courthouse side, it's the junior Justin Everhart and
junior Bryce and Heat in the back court they're joined
there by point guard Javin Baker. And then on the
front line with the nice size Greg mentioned Noah Hathcock,

(08:31):
the tailing to six y sixth junior and then Roman
Tijeski comes in averaging ten there in double figures with
Haythecox they're fourteen and ten.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
And that'll certainly be the BT chapter.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
They're talking about those two guys inside Greg and Chilicothee's
ability to.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Keep them off the class.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
I mean, we always say Cam Badger plays play several
inches taller than he is. He battles, He gets a
lot of that responsibility battling inside. And I said the
job of Andrew Hammond has changed a bit. He's had
to play more inside. Uh, you know, actually, you know,
Kevin Cox has listened to what six two sixty three?

Speaker 5 (09:08):
Uh, and Andrew Hammon is taller than him. I was
kidding his dad. I said, I think Andrew's grown.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Yeah, yeah, and Cox six three and uh yeah am
six four yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
And then the other night they said, the other night
when it started against Hillsboro, the Hillsboro player come up
and said, man, have you grown since we played you
the last time?

Speaker 3 (09:24):
He seems so much taller.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
To good luck, gentlemen, good job, good luck.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Officials come by and uh, give the fifth to everybody
at sports table.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
I probably shouldn't have done it.

Speaker 4 (09:35):

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Welcome back to Chilicothe High School.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
Shane Holmes, Greg Bighem coming up here on the starting lineups.
Just finished up the National Anthem again with Washington Courthouse.
We talked about Psilicoppy going for the seasons sweet back
on December twentieth at Washington Courthouse of Chilipoppie beat the
Blue Lines fifty nine fifty four. And you know, Greg
is funny. I was looking at their season. Washington Courthouse

(12:53):
got off the night started writing on six and two.
As we said, eight and ten finally went the wrong
way on them. But you know, win or lose, they
played a lot of close games and in a lot
of ways, I guess these two teams mirror each other
a little bit toughly, and then they both challenge themselves
in the non league in the schedule.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
So I think we should have a really even match
up here the city.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
Yeah, I agree, And I said, I really think Washington Courthouse.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
Is they well they're eight and ten. It's not like
they're ow and that's time, right. But I mean looking
at their h they're a team that a lot like Choecothy,
And you look at Chocothey at the six and eight
Choecothey could be the way it could be eight and six,
they could be nine and five. Really because of that,
somebody close games, and I think Courthouse hears that, which

(13:34):
is why this should be a good game.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
I guess it's hard to predict. I agree.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
I agree, Philip Coffee now being announced, as Greg said earlier,
outstanding food section here this evening, the lights off of
the spotlight down there. You're just joining us on the
Chili coffee side, Miller, Totts and Stone teams there on
the blackboard, joined by Hammond and Badger.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
And you're starting line up. So we'll just finish up now,
and it's like everybody's about ready to go.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Jili Coffee is always in their home wife of the
blue lettering and the curse of Chili Coffee across the
front stuff.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
I was interesting the other night on the post game,
Pat Beard was talking about what a great first quarter
they played, and he goes, how but he felt like
in the second quarter, and he said a lot of
times this year. We get to the second quarter and
guys think, well, I haven't got my points. It was
an interesting comment that he made. Uh you know, but uh,
I know he was happy the first quarter. But they
played certainly played a great second half the other Nightgel Squirrel.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
No question lead U.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
The official go to check scores table in both benches
checks with the captain.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Everyone seems ready to go.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
It's will be Cox and hate Cock to get us
started here. Cox got up and got it. But on
the on the back tap it was Keith. The Washington
Courthouse and the blue lines will take possession. Cursed into
the scrimmagerry running their half court offense. It's Baker over
on the right side. Back up top that's Keith. Now
gives way to evertheart Haithcock on the left side, drives

(15:06):
hard to the baseline. I don't gonna spend good health,
shot up, no good fight for the red on. Baker
comes out with it. Back out the heat.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
That doesn't.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Man the man still for chili coffee. Heath on the
drive gives way to Baker. Baker drives hard to the
right hand of the middle. Shot up off the glass
and good tough shot that he got up to go
and Washington Courthouse strikes forth a little bit of.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
The diversity of Katon Cox. The other night he guarded
one of the best guards uh in the fac. Tonight
he's guarding the best big man in the fac drops
down to guard to Hathcock Chili Coffee.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
On its first offensive possession of the evening, Washington Courthouse
matched up in the man. The man him and tried
to drive hard right hand of the baseline. He lost
it out of bounds. When to turn it back over
to Washington courthiles just a one minute end too nothing
blue Lions and here we'll see Noah Hathcock will do
that versatility. They'll bring him out to the point here
at six six now a good way to heath left side.

(16:07):
It's everhart I post to Jsky Loston Bager takes it away,
knocks it right over by us. Gonna be last touched
by Cam good hustle. Courthouse will keep possession.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
Yeah, Cam knocked away. Is one of those where he
knocked it away and tried to grab it on their move.
So get headed to the other end and didn't get
it picked up.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
A nice defense by Badger the bell on to Hathcock,
guarded by Cock right hand ribble, hands it off to
Baker back up top. The heat plays off a high
ball screen. He thought about a three and I was
gonna get back to Baker. Pretty good ball movement for
the blue lines and good patience here in the early going.
Hath Cock has it over on the right. Win't gonna

(16:48):
skip it clear across sports to Everhard in the Boston.
Stone King comes out with it. I think Everhard fiut
in there and transition, so turn over.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
To Washington Courthouse.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Good job of stone King understanding stouting report there. Greg
Everhard comes in with forty seven threes on the years.
That's certainly someone you want to run off the three
point on one one three one get stretched out in
a little bit of his own. Yeah, it looks like
the one three one. Nice size and length of the
courthouse high post entry to Bager back out. Miller makes

(17:20):
the extra pass to the corner to Cox's trap. Nice
die and you'll find.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
Stone Team and he's got it. Stone Team with a three.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Give Cox a lot of credit against the trap in
the short corner.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Finding his teammate across court.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Tith Cock up top air again guarded by Cox gonna
work hard to the left hand, really kicks the heat
heath cut off there by Hammon. How he's gonna drive
hard to the left hand to besk you down on
the on the baseline reverse layup short Badger comes out
with the rebound.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
Him, will look to push. Drives hard all the way
to the left hand, all the way to the rim.
Block shot.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
But I think they got the file on the body
there and is going to go to the free throw
line and shoot two.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
Calves have been in double figures free throw attempts in
their last three games. Is nineteen nineteen, maybe thirteen the
other night against Sillsboro.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
Yeah, it's that real aggressiveness downhill. They're playing with Cam's
first free throw no good three two Chili Cooffee five
thirty four first quarter Ladger with the Shane Combs, Greg
big On fourteen ninety WBX Here Cam Bager second free
throw is good.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
Calves by two hey talk, will look to bring it up.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Crossover against the ball pressure here coyx now across the timeline.
Trible entry into the right wing up top. It's everheart,
everheart drives to the right hand all the way to
the rim of the scores. Yeah, not much of that
in Everheart's game throughout the year. That's a that's a
that's a tough shot there, and he ties us up
at full.

Speaker 5 (18:59):
Cooper is guardian. Cooper got picked off and couldn't catch
up to him.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Stone King on the penetration drops it off. Nice thing
for can Badger and he lays.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
It in ice pass for stone King.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
Chilo Cooffee back in front of six to four teeth
of the blue lines across the timeline, He'll look to
penetrate hard to the left hand. He pulls up from
the block, jump.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
Her good and Rice and Heath on the board. Now
tied at six.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Back in Chili Coothie Miller across the timeline gives left
wing to Cox, Cocks up top. Badger gonna reverse it
back and Miller Miller wanted Cox on the cut not
there now they backstream the point they had Badger on
the diagonal and they just ended up throwing it away.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
Not a bad idea. Just sit the next few passing touch.

Speaker 4 (19:50):
Kind of amazed hathe Cox brings the ball to the
floor and maybe that's their best matchup.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
Well, and watching him on the film, he's just been
a real versatile kid. They'll post him up some, they'll
they'll cut.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
He'll slash and India ham and sixty four gardener point guard.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
That's a tough matchup.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
There goes Heath off the dribble again, back out top Everhard.
He drives hard to the right, step through shot up
on the rim, no good. Everheart gets his own rebound
back to Heath. Blue lines will get another possession. Haith
Cock spins into the middle, cut off there by Cocks
gives back to Everheart. This is quite aggressive as i've

(20:24):
seen Everheart off the dribble, usually known more for the
three point shot. Heath into the middle, kicks the baker again,
another link of possession for the Blue line.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
Heath gets it to the rim, lays it up. No
good out comes Fageer with it and if he looks
the push he just lost the dribble.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
Got caught in traffic a little bit and he lost
the dribble into the courthouse bench and going to turn
it back over.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
So score remains six to six, three forty five. First quarter.
Good stop there from the defense grade that just.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
Got to take care of Cam got a good rebound,
but kind of got in a hurry, got some pressure
and lost it and the coaches just ud, look, take
your time, oh.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
David hayth Cock to Heath again.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Heaths as Drake said, that's the match up there for
Hamm and he drives hard to the left hand cut
off there. Now Baker has it on the left side,
kicks it all the way back off the Hathcock. Cocks
knocks it away, but Hathcock comes into the back court
to get it. Now it's Baker on the left side.
He pitches the Hathcock. He'll try a three, No good,
long rebound, kicks out.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
G just got it now. Ever, Heart will dial one
up for three.

Speaker 4 (21:30):
And that is what the.

Speaker 3 (21:31):
Scouting report says with that young man, one of the.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
Top shooters in the fac and he hits the three
pointer and Courthouse is out in front nine to six.
I think stone King caught up elbow on that loose
ball on that rebound.

Speaker 4 (21:45):
This will I'm not I don't keep rebounds, but Shane,
that's got it. That's at least three, if not four,
offensive rebounds for the Blue Lions. That's been the difference
in the first quarter.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
No question.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
Nine six Courthouse Cocks of Chili Cooffee brings it up
into a hand off for Hammon. Now it's left side Miller.
Miller hands it off the stone King. Stone King looks
to penetrate hard with the right hand. Now it's Co's
over on the right side. He'll play two man game
with Badger. Cox into that mid range pup from the
free throw line just short hay cock of Courthouse with

(22:18):
the rebound Blue lines, will push all the way down
the floor underneath. Try to get Osborne, who just checked
into the game and is knocked out of bounds. I'm
going to stay on on this end with the Courthouse possession.
And speaking of substitutions, Chilkati will make its first of
the night is cards. He Liggan will replace Badger one

(22:40):
four to low set for Courthouse. Rode out top of
the haycock. He drives hard to the left hand, shot
up on the rim, no good ligging with the rebound.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
Two point thirty to go.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
First quarter, Courthouse by three cots, hand off the Hammon
handing off a high ball. String there from stone King
and gets in the middle. Reverse pivot shot up, no
good Blue lines with the rebound out comes. Heath brings
it up on the right point, asks for the high

(23:11):
ball screen, Tili Coffee goes under. He's going to try
the three ball, no good, but Haye cock another offensive rebound.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
Shot up on a glass. No good.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
There's a good box out from him and as Chili
Coffee comes out, look with the board. Cox will look
the push a little stiping go Mood gets the left
hand up on the last cuff shot Cayden Cox into the.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
Store in Colin cuts the Courthouse leave the one at
nine to eight first quarter.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
Now it's Osbourne working against Miller. Osborne to look to
penetrate to the left hand. It's a little dribbled drive, said,
is what courthouse is running where they keep the.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Post opposite squat. Osborne pitched there to Heath.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
He thought about the three and I will bring it
back out now looks to go one on one back
to Osborne.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
He gets into the.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Middle and Miller beats him to the spot and they're
gonna call the off arm. Greg offensive out A nice job, Walter,
no one.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
Yeah, one could have gone either way, but I don't
want did a nice job of getting set. He got
there ahead of him and said and picked up the
offensive fountain substitution for the Blue Lions.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
Jacob Lindsay into the game jilipoffee basketball here.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
After the substitution, Miller will give it back to stone
King and stone King will bring it up across the timeline.
It looks like a courthouse back in that little mixer
and Hammond's got it up top. Now hand it off
the ball screen, hits the short corner to Cartay Leggings
shot up and looked like Haycock locked it and out
comes Haycock with it. He's gonna look the push drops

(24:45):
the bounce pass off the heat cross court.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
It's Everhart.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
Stone King runs you off the three point line, pull
up jumper in the short corner, and they think they're.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Gonna say stone King got him on the arm.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
That's going to send Justin Everhard, the six to one junior,
to the free throw line where he shoots it up
in the high eighties almost ninety percent. So not someone
you want to put on.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
The charity stripe to offer first free throw. Good Jess Skin.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
We're replacing Haycock here, So Haycock will get a fifty
three second break then the first quarter and Everheart will get.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
One more free throw.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
That shot is up and it is good Everheart with
seven Courthouse leads it eleven to eight fifty seconds to go.
Here in the opening quarter, stone Kings walks it up
across the timeline. Now picks it up, goes Hamming up top,
then reverse it from midler. It's his own there trying

(26:01):
to look the high post. Now on the reversal, hamm
and Or try at three and Andrew Hammond's fine play continues.
He's really shot the ball well to the last two games,
and he ties us up at eleven with that triple
twenty seven to shoot. Baker's got it back on the
other end, gives everheart everheart guarded by stone King, drives
hard to the right hand. Now Giveski on the pull

(26:23):
up elbow. No good, stone King has it. The Cavs
have twelve to shoe. Looks back there. Coach Beard wants
the final shot. Stone King on the dribble and he
sticks to shoot.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Now Cox will drive hard. Tried to jump it off
to Cartelegan on the safe.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
Cox hits it back and he hits the buzzer, or
hits the shot to beat the buzzer, and that brings
us to the end of the first quarter.

Speaker 3 (26:47):
Chili Cooffee thirteen, Washington Port, House eleven.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
You're listening to Chili cooffee boys basketball in fourteen ninety WBS.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Welcome back to Chilico High School.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
After a quarter of play, the Calves lead the blue
lines thirteen eleven.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
Drag. Take us inside the numbers.

Speaker 4 (28:07):
There well, the big number chill Cothe five of eight
sixty two and a half percent Courthouse four or fourteen.
But the difference is they've shot fourteen times compared to
our a and that's I think because of the offensive rebound.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
You highlighted that well and you're spot on the initial defense.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Not too bad for Chilicoffee, the inability to rebound the
basketball hurting him so far.

Speaker 4 (28:27):
The other big staff at Chilcothe, we're two of two
from the three point line, stone King one and ham
and one.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
Chili Coaffee will get the first possession to start the
corner and Cayden Cox will go ahead and night to
that total with a triple of his own. So he
becomes the third Cavalier to hit a three, and now
the Calves lead by five at sixteen eleven.

Speaker 3 (28:46):
Back comes.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Courthouse. Osborne gives a way to Baker. If Baker tried
to drive hard, now best get into the middle.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
He loses it, and I think they're going to get
a Chili cooffee foul. There is a lake call.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
Some of the Cavs fans felt like the defender was
set there, but nonetheless a little bit.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
Of cons of drive.

Speaker 4 (29:06):
Crsisky kind of lost the ball and then there was contact.
But I think they called it on one miller. I think,
so it's gonna be obi under. It looks like it'll
be heath the veil on a one four low set.
Try to go up over the top. Now gonna run

(29:26):
a little screen and seal back.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
As Jacob Lindsay gets it in, he makes a strong
post move back to the left hand.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
Nicely done, and lays it in.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Cuts the Chillicote lead to three sixteen thirteen. We're just
thirty second ten to second quarter here. As one miller
walks it up, looks like blue lines back into his zone.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
Stone team has it over on the right side. Now
gonna go elbow entry in the Cops.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
He goes opposite diagonal there to Andrew Hammond and he
dials up another three ball.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
Heis fine for the Cops. Straight stroke from Andrew Hammond.
He has it's Chilli cooffee by six nineteen.

Speaker 4 (30:02):
Thirteen, and then one of those things you're watching, Courthouse.
They're playing that zone's chill Coffey four out of four.
They might have to come out of it.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
Keep hard on the drive, give his way to Baker.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Now, Baker head down to the right hand, gets all
the way to the rim, lay up short, Living with
another rebound. Stone King will push ahead to Cock. Spot
about the three. Now a hard drive and a spin
Chili cooffee. Great ball movement finds Hammond no goods. Cock's
with the offensive rebound back out and Miller with a
three no goods card a Living working hard on the

(30:33):
offensive glass. But I think our ball is gonna fly
out of them. They're going to say a white jersey
touched at last. Certainly good effort there, drag on the
offensive rebounding for the Cat nineteen thirteen Chili Coffee six
twenty five. First half here, and it's going to be

(30:54):
blue Lion basketball is Hatecock will bring it up, Hatekok
up the white side.

Speaker 3 (31:01):
Penitrates Harden the left kicks it out.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
He will dial up a three, and he knocks it
down to cut the lead in half. Just a short
time out for Courthouse down on the make.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
So let's stay here you know you're great.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
You mentioned it, the ability to shoot the three, forcing
Courthouse out a little bit that time. Chilicoppy unable to
knock it down, But I thought they got on the
offensive coast a little bit.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
They had two good looks at threes that time, one
by him and one by Miller, and didn't get either one.
But after they'd hit four in a row, missed those two.
But yeah, in the same way with Courthouse, good job.
The big guy, haith Cock, he drove in. Hammon had
to help off.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
You don't.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
We'll let the big guy get down in the lane,
and he kicked it back out and Heath was wide
open for his three.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (31:44):
Badger's back into the game, by the way for the Cats.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Well, and he you know he's coming into the game.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
Statistically, he doesn't shoot the three ball nearly as much
or nearly as well as Everheart, But that time that
stroke looked confident and he knocked it down, So give
him a lot of credit. He's sixteen Chili Cooffee in
front with the basketball. As we come out of the
time out, Stone King has them on the left point

(32:11):
high entry to Hammond now off a ball screen from Ligan.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
Yeah, they went man to man right.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
Shames, yesa gonna stay in the man there and Cox
drives hard to the middle, and I think they're gonna
say the cup ball and uh, certainly physical defense there
on the drive. They're gonna they're gonna call the tie
up and the possession there is going to favor the
Blue Lions.

Speaker 4 (32:36):
And we talk a lot about Kaden. It's so good
at doing that, but he draws a lot of attention.
When he got down in the lane, it were just
three or four guys around.

Speaker 5 (32:44):
Him and got their hand on the ball.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
Hay Cock brings up the right side again, penetrates him
to the left, drops it off to lindsay how he
gets back to Baker. Baker drives the middle and I
think this fieman's going to be liggan on the help
on the tie up and that's going to go back.

Speaker 3 (33:01):
To Chili Tife.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
So great health defense there in the middle. Looks like
Osborne will return to the lineup. He'll replace Baker for Courthouse.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
You know.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
It looks like they're going to extend the floor just
a little bit, stay manned, but they're gonna pick them
up in the full court just a little bit. As
Keith will come up and apply a little bit of
all pressure to Cayden Cox. Cox will crab, dribble up,
come across timeline, high ball stream from Bader, and Cox
gifts all the way to the rim and lays it in.
He gets downhill that left hand he felt to stop.

Speaker 4 (33:36):
Absolutely he got downhill on the press, laid it in
twenty one sixteen.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
Back comes Hayecock behind the back, ribble into the middle.
Shot up was blocked. Like they they're gonna call foul.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
Let's see who they couldn't tell on them, couldn't tell
who they've signaled.

Speaker 4 (33:56):
If you see who they guy, I think it was
on Caden Cox. That's the interesting is the game, where's
on him? Happy to guard Hathcock, who stay out of
foul trouble.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
First free throw, no good. Hathecock comes in averaging fourteen
a game. He's still looking for his first point. Substitutions
on both sides. Miller will play stone chain, Jefski gotta
replace Lindsey for the blue Lins. Hay Cock's second free throw,

(34:36):
again trying to get into scoring column.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
No good.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
Once again, dam Biger goes high for the rebound. So
I keeps the Chilicopy lead of five twenty one sixteen
by Driy will bring it up, comes to the right
hand hand off Miller. Miller drives hard middle to the
left hand, back out the badger. Now Badri will take
a turn. He'll spin get all the way to the rim.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
Let up there and good Dan Bigler gets hit to go.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
Chili Coffee pushes the lead out the seven at twenty
three sixteen be comes Hatecock, gets that left hand ribble,
spin moved, dumps it off and on the pass.

Speaker 3 (35:13):
Looks like we're a common bow so far.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
ChIL Coffee's done a pretty good job. Let's keeping hate
Stock at least in front and making him work.

Speaker 5 (35:22):
We did a good job Bury that time. He tried
to jump it off and we dumped.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
I think Carte Ligan was called for a reach in
so you are correct common foul underneath your own bucket.
Courthouse has no team fouls here. In the second quarter,
that's the third on Schill Coty.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
This time they go with a one four high set.
Now Everhart's going to have it up top. Good look
at three no good. Carte Liggan with the rebound for
the Cavs, pushes it out the Miller and he'll come
up with the right hand and looks like you're gonna
have a blocking foul as Osbourne was unable to beat
him to the spot. So there's that first teen pal
as Drake talked about. Four point thirty four left here

(36:00):
in the first half, the Calves up seven with the
basketball badger on the side out, the Craft enters.

Speaker 3 (36:09):
At the liggan.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Now Miller will run up and get the hand off
and get the Calves set Miller off a high ball
screen from ham and hamm and will then flare off
to the other side, ball to Fleck that Hammon runs
it down Tillicocker keeps possession. Now Hammon drives hard to
the left hand, gets all the way to the rim,
lays it up, no good out come the blue lines.
Hatecock will push nice diagonal pass the head to Osborne

(36:32):
and he lays it in. And again what Hatecox shows
off there is how he can take over a game
without schooling. As he pushes that defensive rebound and gets
a teammate an easy one. Padra has it up top
Calves by five three fifty five. First half. Cox over
on the left side, Courthouse back and demand the man.

(36:53):
Cox will retreat gribble out toward the half quarter line.
I will play downhill to the left hand, good strong move,
good health for the blue lines. But all kinds of
contact at the rim is going to be a foul
and that should be in the act of shooting, and
Costs should get a chance to go to the free
throw line to shoot a pair.

Speaker 4 (37:11):
Now now they're going to say no, I thought he
was shooting. And now the officials said no, it's going
to bring in the subs.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
Stone King returns the line up.

Speaker 2 (37:20):
Then Hitchens makes his first appearance tonight for Chili Coope
placing Living and Cocks. So they're going to go oh
b under instead of the two shot file. Miller will
be the inbound guy. There's it all the way out
top to Hitchens. Kitchens through the legs, now back through

(37:40):
the legs again, gets right side.

Speaker 3 (37:42):
It's stone King, stone King retreat ribble.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
Now going to play downhill penetration, all kinds of contact
play on Badger has it out.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
On the right wing.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
Back out the Miller physical man demanded defense from the
blue lines. Now Miller does get downhill off the ribbels
shot is all the wain and comes out out come
the blue lines. I'll look to push Everhard has it
over on the right side. Calves by five, three ten
to go first half, haith Cock on the left wing.

(38:13):
I'll use it the right hand. Ribble now him and
is going that assignment. Hathcock will go downhill, spin back
to the right hand. Good help from stone King Keith
will penetrate gives it back to hath Cock. So again,
a lot of patients from the Blue lines were pretty
good on ball defense from Chili Coffee. Hate Cock goes
over the right side. The Heath drives hard to the middle,

(38:34):
shot up on the rim. No good badger with chilicoffie
of the rebound. Bader will turn and bring it up.
That's a great rebound by cam and I lost the ball.
Just pick there into the open court. Out come the
Blue Lions. Osbourne has it. He turns around the left corner.
It's Heath one more time rising heat. That's his second

(38:55):
three pointer of the night. He has eighth in the
game and Chili Coothie's he has been trimmed to two.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
At twenty three twenty one. Miller comes back to the Calves,
gets a way to Hitchins.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Hitchings drives hard to the Baseliney's trap there, tries to
step through and it looks like.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
Got a time out down here on the other end
from coach Bard.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
It's going to be a short one, so we'll stay here,
good time out to save the possession there. So two
O six grag twenty three twenty one tabs had pushed
at the seven. Now back to two and again I
think Choli Coffe's had some decent looks, just the ball
didn't go in on some tough drives there.

Speaker 4 (39:38):
Well, they will go man to man and one of
the calves attack is trying to penetrate and courthouse is
quick enough. They're athletic, you can beat your man, but
they get great weak side backside help and it gets
crowded in there, and one did a good job, got
down with crowded, got a good shot off and missed it.
Cox got down in there, got tied up and walcked away.

(40:00):
And the last time Badger tried to go through there,
he got it stripped from him. So they're trying to attack,
but the courthouse is very athletic and quick and when
even though they're reading and beating your man, but the
help side's so good, we've lost the ball down in
the lane three or four times. I think that's the
difference here in the second quarter. I don't think the
Courthouse coach is too far from getting the tea here.
He was really all over the officials out of.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
The time out, philicoffee basketball. They're going to throw it
all the way out top of the stone. King dribbles
through the contact in the middle, kicks at the Cocks.
Then on the second drive as well said by you, Greg,
I thought the second kick of the kick and the
second drive is what opened up there.

Speaker 3 (40:36):
And Cox lays it in as by four that comes
he he pushes it out the hate Coock. No Cock's
back in garden Hathcock.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
Hath Cock left hand dribble, penetrates hard, drops it all
Tovescis and his power moves up over top and lays
it in. Courthouse Bucket cuts at the two, twenty five,
twenty three. Now Hitchins penetrates into the middle, loose ball.
Hitchins dives on the floor and we're gonna have a

(41:09):
jump ball. And it looks like it's gonna favor the
Blue Lions. Niger's gonna return placing Hitchens, Hammond's gonna return
placing ligands.

Speaker 4 (41:26):
Yeah, the calves back of the original starting five, and
again the Pitchens wasn't looking for a shot, but got
himself down in there and got double teamed and got
tied up.

Speaker 3 (41:36):
A tyk will bring it up.

Speaker 2 (41:37):
If you're not familiar with the dribbled drive offense, it's
a high key guard set in the job of that
post players to go opposite block and they're looking to
penetrate and kick or penetrate and dump. There's heats into
the middle back out. Everhard'll try a three no good
good box out down load from can Badger gives way
to Miller and he'll push.

Speaker 3 (41:57):
Cocks over in the left corner.

Speaker 2 (41:58):
He'll try a three no good. Ham And and Bag
are both up on the offensive glass but can't grab
it and they're gonna knock it out of bounds, so
back to Washington Courthouse will be the possession.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
Jilicaifee by two twenty five twenty three forty.

Speaker 2 (42:13):
Nine seconds left hand. In the first half, hath took
walk walks it up for Washington. High ball screen plays
off the left hand ribbel try to kick it to
Heath and they weren't on the same page.

Speaker 3 (42:24):
He ends up phoning it away.

Speaker 2 (42:26):
So good break there for the Calves and they'll get
it back and see what they decide to do time
and score wise.

Speaker 3 (42:34):
Here with thirty nine seconds.

Speaker 4 (42:35):
It might be hard to hold it thirty nine seconds
of the pressure defense. I agree they I don't think
we don't want to take a quick three or force it.

Speaker 3 (42:44):
Miller's got it, bringing it up against evertheart.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
Now he breaks the pintwn across the timeline aw right side,
hands it off the stone.

Speaker 3 (42:52):
Team and they're going to go the other way with it.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
They're gonna say one Miller, I guess on the hand off,
got the elbow up a little bit and clear the pie.

Speaker 3 (43:01):
So offensive.

Speaker 2 (43:03):
The file is going to be a turnover and the
Blue lines will come back with twenty six seconds to shoot,
looking to score to tie it up, maybe a three
ball to go ahead.

Speaker 3 (43:12):
Here as we come up.

Speaker 2 (43:14):
On halftime, Haithcock enters into the back court to heath.
It's Keith versus stone King. He hardly dribbled to the left,
now reverses back out. It's Osborne. Osborne down the middle
and Ligan takes it away. He looks up the stone King.
Stone King up over top threw a bunch of contact,

(43:37):
no call, and then on the loose ball, looks like
it's going to go.

Speaker 3 (43:41):
Out of bounds. Last touch by the Calves and the
courthouse will have but one more time. Somehow Lesson's back
and forth in the final second twenty.

Speaker 5 (43:48):
Twenty hindsight maybe should have pulled that out. We were
forcing it.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
Hathcock downhill on the right hand baseline kick, It's Osborne
at the buzzer and history no good. We've arrived at
half time here at Chilicoffee High School. The Cavs lead
the blue lines twenty five twenty three.

Speaker 3 (44:05):
Stay with us.

Speaker 2 (44:06):

Speaker 2 (47:17):
Welcome back to Chilicopie High School. Shane Holmes and drag Bigham.
We're at the half with chilicoffee out in front of
Washington Courthouse twenty five, twenty three. Appreciate you joining us
here on fourteen ninety WBX on the AM side. You
can also get us over on the FM at ninety
two point seven or of course worldwide on iHeart Radio.
And yeah, Greg, if you if you look at the

(47:39):
first half and the numbers, I thought you hit a
couple of great points in terms of some of the
rebounding and then some of the turnovers and some of
the of the different keys there from the first half.
What do the numbers say here now that we've played
sixteen minutes, a little bit.

Speaker 4 (47:53):
Better, but still the fact that Chukkati has shot the
ball twenty times in questioning Courthouse twenty four, so caught
up a little bit. But I think that's mainly those
offensive rebounds. I got chill Kathy's six turnovers blue lines,
they had two their lates, it gives him four. So
six turnovers to four calves have shot the ball pretty well.
Let's go to Courthouse first. They are nine of twenty

(48:14):
four from the floor. Total, they're three of eight from
the three point line, so about yeah, in the high thirties.

Speaker 5 (48:22):
From there, they are just two of four from the
foul line.

Speaker 4 (48:26):
Chillikathy ten of twenty so we're still shooting fifty percent
on the night. Four of seven hit our first four threes,
missed the last three, but still it's fifty seven percent
from the three point line and one of two from
the charity stripes, so pretty even on everything close. On threes,
we've got one more three, they've got one more free throw,
and that's the two point difference.

Speaker 2 (48:47):
You know, you look at the scoring column and the
first thing that jumps out at you is Noah Hayfecok
comes in averaging right around fourteen to fifteen a game
is not scored yet, but at the same time he
averages about nine rebounds, four assists, And I've been in
press with how he's been able to impact the game
in other ways so far. You you like the on
ball defense against the dribble drive you'res in from Chilicothe.

Speaker 4 (49:10):
Yeah, I think I think Cordyce does a good job.
I think we've got some tough matchups. Uh, Hathcock at
six six, they put Kayden Cox, and Cayden has that
length on him, and fortunately I was worried about him
getting in foul trouble trying to guard Haycock. Uh, but
we've done a good job for a while. Andrew Hammond
at six y four is garden Heath one of their guards.

Speaker 5 (49:30):
That's a tough matchup.

Speaker 4 (49:31):
And uh, but you know we've done a pretty good job.
You know who's done a nice job down under? Offensively,
he's had a couple of turnovers, but I think Cam
Badger has done a great job down under. Uh, He's
gotten some big, strong defensive rebounds and he's working real
hard on helpside down there well.

Speaker 3 (49:47):
And what happened to give to the dribble.

Speaker 2 (49:48):
Drive is when you don't keep the ball in front
and he has to help over, then it becomes very
hard to drop down and box out.

Speaker 3 (49:55):
And I agree with you, I think is the on
ball started to cut that off.

Speaker 2 (49:58):
I thought Cam did a good job and second quarter
of boxing out, as I said, with Hayecok not scoring,
he has been involved in dishing the ball out a
little bit. Ever, Heart, their outstanding shooter at the two
guard position, did hit one three.

Speaker 3 (50:11):
He has seven points. Heath with a couple of threes.

Speaker 2 (50:14):
He has eight here at the half, two for Baker,
two for Gruzdevsky, two for Osbourne and two for Lindsey.
Over on the Chillicotee side, Caden Cox leads all scorers
with eleven. Andrew Hammond with a couple three balls has six.
Cooper stone King knocked down one to three. Cam Badger

(50:34):
with five and nine adds up to the twenty five
twenty three. So take me in the locker room here,
your coach Beard.

Speaker 3 (50:43):
There's some good, there's some bad. Obviously you're up seven there.
Let them back in.

Speaker 4 (50:46):
It just a little bit give me a key here
in that first three minutes. Well, first of all, they didn't.
They only stayed in the locker room about three minutes.
They were back out there beyond the four point four
minute mark to come out and shoot around.

Speaker 5 (50:58):
So I don't think Pat it's.

Speaker 4 (50:59):
Been a lot of time, So maybe he's pretty happy
with the way. Thing's not going to change a lot
of strategy. Obviously, they shot Washington carrass out of their zone.
It's now man demand. I would guess maybe he talked
a little bit about Chila Coffee penetrating with the dribble,
of being careful not to get caught down in there

(51:19):
and get double team. That's where they've had probably got
six turnovers for him have probably been where they've tried
to force it down in the middle, and Courthouse is
very athletic and knocked it away. But uh, you know
that's Shell Coffee's game, Kat and Cox's going to take
it to the whole. Certainly won Miller and dribbles the
ball well as carts if he's down in and under
as well. Cam Badger loves to go to the bucket,

(51:40):
so that's their offense. And then you know, you kick
it out and hope he can get Hammon and stone
King open well calves by two.

Speaker 2 (51:48):
As always, the first three minutes of the second half
will be really, really important and we'll be back here

Drake Bigham. You're listening to Coffee Boys basketball in fourteen

Welcome back Shane Colms Greg Bigham coming up here on
the third quarter action as the Chilicopy Cavaliers lead at
twenty five twenty three over Washington Courthouse. Coach Beard'll run
him out the way he started the game with Miller, Stone,
Kne Hammond, Badger and Cox and the Blue lines Hey
Cop Fake Heath Everhart and Jo Jeff step Chili Coaffee

(54:02):
will have possession and stone King will throw it all
the way into the black court there to Miller, and
we're underway here in the second half action. Chili Coffee
come and right the left as we sit here court
side at the Thomas M. Cupp at court and the
Caves will try to add to that league. Elbow entry
to stone King. Elbow jumper too strong rebound for the

(54:22):
blue lines out comes Baker as he looks to push
Baker a little inside out. Dribble gets to the right hand,
turns and gives it to Ever Heart everhard into the middle.

Speaker 3 (54:31):
Back to Heath, back to hate Cock.

Speaker 2 (54:35):
Now Baker will reset again in that dribbled drive. They'll
try to play downhill as much as possible. Baker penetrates
back to heat Thou ever Heart deep free from the
left wing. That's as grays at the front of the rim.
Outcomes Cocks with it. Cocks up the stone King give
way to Miller on the little island, hot in the
air a little bit and out comes hate Cook pushes

(54:56):
it a head to Heath. Kilo Cooffee missed opportunity there
with numbers that comes Courthouse Heath has it all the
way up tie left hand penetration give way to Haithcock.
Now hath Cock will go back to Heath. Heath will
kick it right side, Baker will try a three, and
he got it. Baker with five on the night, gives

(55:19):
Courthouse to leave. Twenty six, twenty five, that comes Miller.
Miller over the left side to hand. I even thought
about a three. Now goes corner to Miller. Miller penetrates spin, dribble,
reverses all the way back out, pitches it. The Cocks
call recess. Cox right hand dribble pulls up at the yelbow.

Speaker 4 (55:42):
No good.

Speaker 2 (55:43):
Haith Cock a courthouse with the rebound, gives way to Heath,
and his past is taken away by stone King.

Speaker 3 (55:49):
Two on one. Stone King all the way to the
rim and lays it in Cooper. Stone King, turning defense
to offense, calves back in front by one.

Speaker 2 (55:57):
Twenty six. Haycock walks it up the left side, gonna
be guarded by Cox.

Speaker 3 (56:05):
What's four corners, isn't it? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (56:08):
They really they really spread you out, and they're they're
gonna try to win night.

Speaker 3 (56:12):
Now this time they do call a high ball. Screen
hates all the way to the right hand. The dwarfs
the contact and lays it in, so you know, a haycock.

Speaker 2 (56:20):
Finally into the scoring column. Back and forth we go.
Now it's Courthouse by one at twenty eight to twenty seven.
Several le chants here the season hamming on the left side,
rejects the ball screen from Badger gets to the left
hand up on the rim. No good, Hatecock. With another rebound,
they'll turn and push little.

Speaker 3 (56:41):
Stop and go Bo pulls up the elbow.

Speaker 2 (56:44):
Too strong Cox with a rebound, he'll turn and push,
cross over dribble all the way to the rim to
the left hand, takes on haycock at the rim and
lays it in. Cox now with thirteen chill a coffee
back in front. Twenty nine to twenty eight, three minutes
into the second half, calves by one. There comes this
moving screen, and see if they call it ever Hey

(57:07):
scock off by ball street. Cox pokes it a wife
out the Cox all the way to the rim. Too
strong in the left hand, stone Chin keeps it r.
Cox is hammered at the rim. No call out come
the blue lines with possession. Baker into the middle kicks
it to Everheart. Now back to Baker again. Baker on
the drive, got the elbow up. There's gonna be called

(57:28):
for the offensive fil certainly thought Cox was hit on
the one end. Good job of pilocythe playing through it
and getting back and drawing the offensive file. So the
calves still by one. We'll get the basketball back here.

Speaker 3 (57:43):
Four forty two to go.

Speaker 2 (57:44):
Third poll, See if we've got Lindsey subbing in there
for the blue lines as did Osbourne. Pil Cofee is
still with those five that started the high Miller a
good way to Biger and by Drill bring it up,

(58:06):
comes up the right Side's gonna drive right past lens
and get all the way to the rim. Shot will
not go, but gonna draw all the foul. Pretty good
recognition of having the match up off the dribble.

Speaker 5 (58:20):
Yeah, Cam had a good match up there and got vibe.

Speaker 2 (58:29):
To by Drill go to the free throw line, trying
to add to this one point advantage for ChIL Coffee.
First free throw, No good, Cam's been there. Let's see
that's his third r foul shots ninety's one for three. Yeah,
see if we can get the second one to go here,
it's up and good. So Cam was six points on

(58:54):
the Night, thirty twenty eight, Chila Coffee four thirty to go,
third quarter. Osborne brings it up the blue lines. High
ball string from Lindsay how comes left side to Baker.

Speaker 3 (59:04):
He lost it for just a sec.

Speaker 11 (59:06):
I'm not at back.

Speaker 2 (59:07):
Al Stone team jumps the passing way all the way
out in the open port right hand lay up up
and good and it's just off as the layup. When
I have a full time out, will step away. Chilipoffee
thirty two, Washington Port.

Speaker 3 (59:21):
House, twenty eight.

Speaker 2 (59:22):
You're listening to Chilipoffee Boys basketball on fourteen ninety WBA.

Speaker 7 (59:28):

Speaker 8 (59:47):

Speaker 2 (59:57):
Welcome back to Chilipoffee High School calves by four here
on the time out, and Greg, I know you have
been feeling well today, appreciate it hanging in there with
us tonight. I know tomorrow night the schedule has Blue
Postage coming into work against New Albany and then Greg
will be back with us next week as well. Gosh,
with all these makeups, we go Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (01:00:21):
Now, good news is all at home.

Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
So as you said in the pre game, I thought
you said that, well, good chance for the Coves get
rolling a little bit here in the white uniforms, and.

Speaker 4 (01:00:28):
Did the feeling that neither team's going to be able
to get ahead by much. And we talked about it
being Washington. Courthouse is normally very athletic, and they match
up athletic wise against Chill Cothy very well here in
the quarter that it's key that I had Courthouse four
turnovers first half, but they've gotten three and we've converted
a couple of those turnovers into buckets.

Speaker 3 (01:00:47):
Active hanswred Cocks, Stone Kings jumped.

Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
A couple passing lanes, and the good news is they've
been able to convert out the easy points on the
other end.

Speaker 5 (01:00:55):
We actually had a couple others that we probably should
have converted, weren't able to.

Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
Blue lines with possession out of the time. Out ran
a little bit of a quick hitter set. Now it's
ever Hard on the drive, all the wail to Osborne
back up. Hatecock comes right side Everhart left hand drive
to the middle and Bager bumped him a little too
too much there on the drive.

Speaker 3 (01:01:18):
They've been lunting to play. That was certainly a foul
there got him and got the shoulder into him.

Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
So Cam I think that's just his first file, says
on the board. There read second, just first team file
with the third quarter. So blue lion ball on the
baseline there all the way out top hate Cock. Osbourne
has it on the left wing. He'll drive hard to
the left hand, cut off there by cards Hated ligging.

(01:01:45):
He'll turn and have to throat all the way out
to ever Our good job by Chili Cooffee defense there.
Hate Cock calls for the high ball screen from Lindsey.
He'll kick at left corner. Osborne three misses everything and
Chilicoffee unable to come up.

Speaker 3 (01:01:58):
The rebound, but missed opportunity for the blue lines.

Speaker 2 (01:02:01):
And this time cam Bager does come out with it
and he has filed, So missed opportunity there.

Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
So Jesski had a.

Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
Good look on the offensive rebound and maybe had a
blue lion not happy with the call, and we turn
and said something to the official and going to be
a technical foul. We'll see here coach Beer going to
pick out his shoot or I thought he pointed to
Stone Team.

Speaker 5 (01:02:27):
Yeah, technical foul.

Speaker 3 (01:02:32):
See if the Calves can take advantage of it. So
at thirty two twenty eight, Calves by four.

Speaker 2 (01:02:40):
Great opportunity here, Great because Cooper stone King going to
get a couple of free throws in Chili, Kothie'll get
the ball.

Speaker 3 (01:02:46):
First free throw good stone King, second free throw good Cooper.

Speaker 2 (01:02:58):
And now with six in the second half, nine in
the game, so he's having a nice third quarter here
and the Cavs push it to thirty four to twenty eight.
Great opportunity to add to it, because, like you said,
any type of seven eight nine point leading, I'm like
this would.

Speaker 3 (01:03:13):
See h.

Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
Stone King across the timeline gives way to Ligan. Now
it's hamming up top guarded by hate come hamm into
the right hand Ribbel takes a ball stream from Liggans
gives way to stone King. Stone King right hand to
the baseline. Almost lost a good hustle from ham And
to keep the possession. Hamming right hand, good health defense

(01:03:38):
from Baker. They take it away. Blue lines into the
up in court, hath top all the way to the rams.
I think Badger might have got a piece of that shot.

Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
But there it is. Jesse you with a second effort,
he lays it.

Speaker 5 (01:03:51):
In another offensive read them thirty four thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
Back comes Cocks now in a hurry, in a big hurry,
they lose it. Blue lines come out.

Speaker 3 (01:04:01):
They have numbers.

Speaker 2 (01:04:02):
He will take a three from the right wing. Had
a good look at it. Then Cox had the rebone
taken away by Baker. He down low, fight for the
loose balls, justking up through the contact. I think they're
going to get Viger on the file. The shot did
not go, but it is.

Speaker 3 (01:04:19):
Going to send him to the free throw line. Physical
play back and fourth.

Speaker 2 (01:04:25):
Ball flying everywhere, and Courthouse will have a chance to
go to the free throw line. First free throw room
and just Ski makes good on it. He has five
on the night. He'll get another.

Speaker 3 (01:04:46):
Tiger is going to be replaced. Miller returns.

Speaker 2 (01:04:49):
It's Miller, Hammond, ligging, Stone King and Cox right now
for the cap.

Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
Second free throw on its way.

Speaker 2 (01:04:58):
Good thirty four thirty two days. We're up six now
all of a sudden back two were up eight.

Speaker 5 (01:05:06):
I think got six und answered.

Speaker 2 (01:05:09):
Miller has it on the right side, drives hard to
the right hand, a little jump hook up on the rim.
No good, hay Cock in the courthouse with the rebound.
He turns and pushes behind the back. Ribbler gets back
to the left hand, kicks at the Baker in the corner.
He goes right side to tee heete. Drive now back
to Baker. Baker will try a left corner three, no good.

(01:05:32):
Ligging with the rebound, pushes it out and I will
turn and give it the Cox, and Cox will give
the Miller and see if the Cats can settle in
the possession.

Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
Here exactly right.

Speaker 5 (01:05:40):
Been a little bit of a hurry the last couple
of trips.

Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
Miller gives way to Hamm and ham it up on
the right point. Now gives the Cocks little flare screen
Hamm and we'll get it back.

Speaker 3 (01:05:51):
Try a three.

Speaker 2 (01:05:52):
No good fight for the rebound. Liggan got it, but
they said it hit the cable on that ham and three.
They said the ball went up and hit the cable,
and I was unfortunate break because Ligan had come away
with an offensive rebound there. So one thirty one third
quarter possession. Back to the Blue Lions with the Cabs
on top, thirty four to thirty two. Haycock will walk

(01:06:16):
it up, started by Cox, high ball screen as he
goes to the left hand dribble, al spins back to
the right hand.

Speaker 3 (01:06:24):
Shot up, No good. Cox with the reband Cox pushed
it ahead the stone Kings. Stone King to the left
hand block by a hay Cock. Nice defensive play.

Speaker 2 (01:06:33):
I'll come the Blue Lions and a secondary break opportunity.

Speaker 3 (01:06:38):
Jess Gibed to drive the off hand with a little
bit of a push shot. No good. Ligan comes out
with it. Ligan all the weight of the rim shot up.
No good.

Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
Now it's Heath with back and forth we go a
little bit slopping transition. Baker right wing three, No good.
Good box out there from stone King and it was
Hamm and that got the rebound.

Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
Thirty seven seconds.

Speaker 5 (01:07:01):
Third p This thing is up and down. Wow, somebody's
got to slow down.

Speaker 3 (01:07:08):
Oller's got it right here in front of us.

Speaker 2 (01:07:09):
A little time and score maybe for the Cabs. Twenty
six seconds. Gives way to Cox, see if Jila Coffee
can get the last shot of the third quarter here.
Cox retreats a little bit now that the official does
have the count on him. Now he breaks it.

Speaker 3 (01:07:27):
Gives way to Miller. Tend to shoot for the Cab. Miller,
they give it up.

Speaker 2 (01:07:31):
We gotta go the go nil it down hill to
the left hand, shot up, a little float or no good.
Looks like one blue line. One Cavalier come down with
them together in the jump ball. Now that could favor
the Cabs, because Greg, I'll tell you why. It's going
to be courthouse basketball. But only point nine to shoot.
But then that'll give the Calves the possession of to

(01:07:51):
start the fourth quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:07:52):
Right good point end down.

Speaker 2 (01:07:56):
Hay Cock grabs it on the run from half court.
Shot up, had it online, just a little short. Well,
we played three. It's physical, it's fast, it's up and down.
Haves thirty four blue lines, thirty two. Stay with us,
Shank Holmes, Greg Begam we'll.

Speaker 3 (01:08:10):
Be back with fourth quarter action.

Speaker 2 (01:08:11):

Speaker 2 (01:08:52):
Welcome back Chilicoffy High School, Shank Holmes and Greg Begums.
What should be just an outstanding fourth quarter? Well, Greg,
I can't imagine. Some of the shooting numbers are real,
real good as it's been physical.

Speaker 4 (01:09:03):
But what he got there for, well, I had, you know,
had Chill Coffey with three turnovers the courthouse with three
in the quarter. It was going so fast I probably
missed a couple shooting wise, Yeah, the cabs after being
over fifty percent in every quarter in the both quarters
first half, they were three of fourteen. In that third
quarter oh of one from the three point line, they
were three or four from the foul line.

Speaker 5 (01:09:25):
Those three foul shots help them keep the two point lead.

Speaker 2 (01:09:28):
Yeah, I don't. I don't think you're that far off. Honestly,
I think a lot of it was was just missed shots.

Speaker 5 (01:09:33):
I just think it was fast back and forth and
they're letting them.

Speaker 4 (01:09:37):
I mean, you go inside you every ready you're gonna
get bumped, and a lot of people, you know, a
tempting to fast break, charge into the whole and tough
to finish.

Speaker 2 (01:09:46):
Tonight Chili Coopy with possession to start the fourth and
final quarter. Oay, that had a backstreen there up pop
got living down under in a nice little set. It's
kind of that old Zane tray shuffle stuff there from
Coach hel back in the day. There, get that nice
shuffle cutting and then get that backscreen ligging popped open

(01:10:06):
and unable to get it up on the rim.

Speaker 3 (01:10:08):
It did get a courthouse file third foul.

Speaker 5 (01:10:14):
Individually. I think that was on number thirteen, eight.

Speaker 3 (01:10:18):
Fthday to Jefski.

Speaker 2 (01:10:22):
Till a coffee with it underneath its own basket, nice
little set. It's ham and free shot up on the rim.
No good out comes heath of the courthouse with the rebound.
They swing it all the way over left side. Now
Hathcock has it. They'll go right point to heat high
ball screen. There he gives way to Haythcock. He tries
to get down the middle. Great job by carte Lega

(01:10:44):
pokes it away and runs it down. He's out in
the open court and he is going to get grabbed there.
And I think that's one of those Coach Beard's asking
for attention.

Speaker 3 (01:10:52):
I think it's one of those if the NBA and
then they caught.

Speaker 2 (01:10:54):
The clear path, because he certainly had the open court opportunity.
But they're just a common foul. Great effort from Cartaene
is great effort, well, great calves. Another chance here to
stretch this to two possessions. They leave thirty four to
thirty two with the ball miller across the timeline, goes

(01:11:18):
right wing to stone King.

Speaker 3 (01:11:20):
Stone King high postcocks.

Speaker 2 (01:11:22):
He'll turn into one on one, plays up through the contact,
No good, gets it back through the contact, no good rebound,
blue lines. Now look the push and it's picked off
by stone King. Stone King on the steel pulls.

Speaker 3 (01:11:34):
Out from three and what a big play. Cooper stone
King has jumped the.

Speaker 2 (01:11:38):
Passing lane three or four times into second half and
that time he pulls.

Speaker 3 (01:11:41):
Up and hits the triple.

Speaker 2 (01:11:42):
Yeah, mark that one down, Jane, that's a big one.
Back on Taykok he loses.

Speaker 3 (01:11:50):
It on the spin. Guess who's stone King out in
the up and court all the way to the rim.
He lays it up and does.

Speaker 2 (01:11:56):
Cooper stone King have an outstand the second half? Time
out Washington Courthouse. We'll take it with them, Pilicoffee thirty nine,
Washington thirty two.

Speaker 3 (01:12:05):
You're listening to Til Coffee Boys basketball on WBEs.

Speaker 12 (01:12:11):
There are a lot of temptations facing young people today,
like electronic cigarettes and skateboard it. Each vai pod can
contain the same amount of icotine as a pack of cigarettes.
This can lead today's youth to a lifelong addiction and
severe lung damage. Recall and consider the facts before making
a poor decision.

Speaker 14 (01:12:29):
The house class film guy isn't the best person to
talk to your kid about vaping. Got a few minutes
you are start the conversation with your child about vaping today.

Speaker 2 (01:12:42):
Welcome back to Chilicoffee High School, Shant Holmes, Greg Vegem
time out there from the blue lines much needed as
Cooper stone kaing. Greg picks it off one time, hits
the three, picks it off the second time goes and
lays it in and just like that, what was.

Speaker 3 (01:12:56):
A thirty four to thirty two games has now by
seven nine. Yeah, Cooper, great job.

Speaker 4 (01:13:03):
He's still doing a nice job on the defensive ending
and you know, as you said, they're put there drible
penetrating down into the middle and when they're turning, Cooper's
done a nice job stepping in behind or stepping in
the passing lane off of his man.

Speaker 3 (01:13:15):
And that was a great steal.

Speaker 4 (01:13:17):
And that's a great job driving to the hole laying
it in because six six eighth Cock was right on
his rear end.

Speaker 5 (01:13:23):
And tried to block it and Cooper did a great
job laying it in. That was a huge three by
stone King.

Speaker 3 (01:13:27):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:13:29):
Well out of the time out, the Blue Lions get
it the trail by seven six point thirty to go
into game.

Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
Right side its heat now to come back out top.
Jil Coffee's come out unto a little two three zone.
I don't know Forthouse was expecting this.

Speaker 2 (01:13:43):
He ties it up top. It looks like they're going
to x the post here hay Cock down ever Heart
of a deep three, No good. Stone King with a rebound.
Nice little wrinkle there, Beard. Out of the time out.

Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
I agree.

Speaker 2 (01:13:56):
Stone King across the timeline is going to hand off
the badger. Badger looks to play one on one. Now
he'll pitch. Stone King will try a deep three.

Speaker 3 (01:14:04):
He got it. We've seen this before, Cooper.

Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
Stone King sees one go in in the next three
or four, Mike, and he's really having a big second half.
Here the junior guard pushing toil a coffee out forty
two thirty two.

Speaker 3 (01:14:16):
Everheart has it on the left side. Now it's heath
up top.

Speaker 2 (01:14:20):
Everheart and had again this zone really causing some fits
out of the time out, and then again on this
possession Hatecock high pose draws the double team picks it
back out Everheart from three, No good.

Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
Stone King with another defensive rebound.

Speaker 2 (01:14:33):
Now five point thirty to go, they push it ahead
to Cox. Cox drives hard right hand to the baseline,
shot up on the rim, no good, Heim and gets
it back shot no good. Hayecock had it momentarily Liganomos
takes it away, but the Blue Lion's keep possession.

Speaker 3 (01:14:48):
Everheart into the up and court.

Speaker 2 (01:14:49):
He pushes all the way to the rim of the
right hand reverse lay up missed it, Ligan brings.

Speaker 3 (01:14:54):
It out head the Cox.

Speaker 2 (01:14:55):
Cox goes up two hands and walks the around in
this cutic section.

Speaker 3 (01:15:00):
Let's him know. They enjoy it. Calves by twelve and
d Are with a skill that he loses it out
of bound. Outstanding effort here in the last three or
four minutes of play from the cap forty four thirty two.

Speaker 2 (01:15:17):
Calves by twelve, it'll be Courthouse basketball. Five minutes to play.
Heath up top Tives will stay in the two three zone. Baker,
Heath and Everheart with a three guard front, and they
knock it away Stone King Cox one more time up
on the riven again two hands am Hayden top five

(01:15:37):
to the back. Don'ts when the Chili Cooffee Cavaliers were
threatening to blow it open as they lead forty six
thirty two climb out. Courthouse will stay here this time
and the gray you talked about it before. When the
defense gets going to get on hip a court, they
get the crowd into it that's the home court.

Speaker 3 (01:15:56):
Advantage we've seen this year.

Speaker 4 (01:15:57):
Absolutely, and I like your point. I like coach Beard
Man demand the whole time. Came out in that zone
and threw Courthouse off a little bit. They were hesitant.
They've also shot seventeen threes, and I think that zone
part of it. Here in the last couple of minutes,
they've fired up a lot of threes.

Speaker 5 (01:16:15):
They tried to get it inside a couple of steals, and.

Speaker 4 (01:16:18):
Boy, I tell you what, Cat and Cox with two dunks,
he's got this place on their feet.

Speaker 2 (01:16:22):
Well, Haykok averaging fourteen or fifteen to Jefski with ten
a game. So what happens in that zone two is
those guys go inside and it has some other guys
handling the basketball.

Speaker 3 (01:16:32):
And I thought that before the Calves had.

Speaker 2 (01:16:34):
Some advantage of jumping some passing lanes and turning it
into some easy ones on.

Speaker 3 (01:16:39):
The other end.

Speaker 2 (01:16:40):
What a great spur here for the Calves. I believe
it was thirty four thirty two. Yeah, it was a
two point lead. So a twelve oh run, right, I've.

Speaker 3 (01:16:47):
On a twelve oh run out of the time out.

Speaker 2 (01:16:50):
Calves will stay in the two three, trying to get
it to Hathetok at the high post.

Speaker 3 (01:16:54):
They do right side heat for three.

Speaker 2 (01:16:57):
No good good rebound from the living down, nice strong position.
Chim's of basketball well and gets filed. I'll be the
third Washington foal. The lines are now shamee sky. There
are four of eighteen on a free point line. Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:17:10):
That was a good look there, it was. It was
a good one, good inside out look.

Speaker 5 (01:17:14):
Great rebound by Liggan in bell Cox Courthouse.

Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
Is gonna pick it up in the full court just
a little bit now, a little bit of a running jump.
Badger got caught in the air about three little way
and Coach Bear is gonna bow him out with a
time out. Very fortunately got that time out because I
don't know that they possessment with the wall just the thirty.
We'll stay here again and Chilicothe. Now, Greg's gonna have
to obviously be aware of that for twenty three. To
go a fourteen point game, you got to know the

(01:17:39):
pressure defense is coming.

Speaker 5 (01:17:41):
I liked it.

Speaker 4 (01:17:41):
I like to I love teams that are recognized the
fact that unless you've got an outstanding tremendously you know,
like a one miller, but your point, unless you've got
a tremendous point guard. I love it when you take
your best matchup when they're pressured. And Cam Badger against
the big guy over the fort I don't have his
name in Freer Lindsay, Yeah, Lindsay is the matchup, and
he brought it up. The only thing Cam did is

(01:18:02):
he got across the timeline and he stopped.

Speaker 5 (01:18:05):
He got the way, he got caught over the court,
caught over and got caught in the corner and got top.
But I like the fact that can't bring the ball up.
That's a really good idea.

Speaker 4 (01:18:13):
And I think I think actually coach stone King was
telling him, you don't get stopped there in that your muta.

Speaker 5 (01:18:18):
Triangle there over in the move court lining out of bounds.

Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
Line, I think you make a great point there because
again Courthouse has some really really good on ball defenders.
So Cox has it out top, he spends out of
the double team and tried to dump it off to
him and close it out of bounds. So turn over
back to Washington Courthouse four fifteen and County Tabs fourteen

(01:18:45):
point lead in the two three zone. Hate Coock in
the high post back to Baker, how did it the
hate cook little high low game to Jacob Limsay and
he lays it in in forty six thirty four tabs
by twelve. They break the pressure, Bager gives way to
him and he misses it. Bager's put back, no good,
cart legging one more time up and in. It's hard

(01:19:08):
to believe that's Carte's first bucket of the night because
I feel like energy.

Speaker 3 (01:19:11):
Wise, he's really played well. Cross court.

Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
Kys goes up and snags it for the steel Chili
Coffee doesn't need to be in a hurry. Now stone
King has it out top three thirty four in the
game off the badger Chili cooffee. By fourteen with the basketball,
he'll run a double team at Biger. He'll pitch at
the stone King, stone King, good flash middle hem and

(01:19:35):
download a Bager and he lays it in. Well done,
Tam Bager that Kaz by sixteen. Now on the Bager
lay up that comes Heath. He'll try a left wing
three and he got it. Stops the bleeding there. Momentarily,
what do we say that was a sixteen oh run?
I believe it was because he knocks down the three

(01:19:56):
Stone King against the double team over to him Hamm
and download ligging, fligging powers it up through and they're
gonna say that Lindsay had all basketball there and they're
gonna call it.

Speaker 4 (01:20:09):
And again, Carte is freshman. You don't need a shot there.
I mean he was down there, but heavy traffic, no.

Speaker 3 (01:20:16):
Question about it.

Speaker 2 (01:20:16):
Possessionaire is gonna favor the Blue line. So at fifty
thirty seven, two point fifty one to go into game,
Tilicathi still has it committed. A team file here in
the fourth quarter, Washington with three of them, Heath lets
the ball roll all the way out, Al picks it
up across the timeline.

Speaker 3 (01:20:35):
They bring Everhart off of a double screen.

Speaker 2 (01:20:37):
He'll try a three nice little set there for the
Blue Line to get their best shooter free and everheart.

Speaker 3 (01:20:44):
And knocks it down to cut of the ten back
to ten.

Speaker 5 (01:20:46):
No, don't force it on, don't force.

Speaker 2 (01:20:48):
It inside him and no good on the jump hook
out comes hate kock hathe cock all the way up
the Baker Baker on the flashing Lindsay down load layup,
No good. Lindsay gets it back, tries to throw it
out the Heath. No only gets there.

Speaker 3 (01:21:03):
Off the deflection, Heath gives way to Baker. Baker and
here goes Cayden coxs again. He steps out in the
passing lane. Buck number three US two hands, Hayden thoms.

Speaker 2 (01:21:16):
Fifty two forty chili coffee back comes Courthouse and it's
Keith one more time. And Ris and Heath, who comes
in with only about ten or eleven threes on the year,
say four of them here to night, So fifty two.

Speaker 3 (01:21:30):
Forty three's gonna have a full time. I will step
away with them here again, tabs up by nine.

Speaker 2 (01:21:36):

Speaker 3 (01:22:10):
What was our biggest lead?

Speaker 2 (01:22:11):
Sixteen Welcome back at Chilicopye High School. Greg and I
were just talking about the biggest lead. I want to
say it was fifty to thirty.

Speaker 4 (01:22:19):
Two, maybe even one point or yeah, forty seven thirty
two means something like that.

Speaker 3 (01:22:24):
So they had certainly pushed without rice and heat.

Speaker 2 (01:22:28):
With back to back three balls, it cut it all
the way back to fifty two to forty three.

Speaker 3 (01:22:31):
You go, Greg.

Speaker 2 (01:22:32):
Thet thing I would ask you is this, It's one
of the hardest things in basketball to know when to
take the air out of the basketball.

Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
Without the shot clock, you always fight.

Speaker 2 (01:22:39):
You know, obviously, Courthouse is running, jumping from everywhere, so
sometimes you get too timid and you start turning it over.

Speaker 3 (01:22:47):
I don't know that I hate some of the shots.
Chilcoffee has taken them to rim. They just got to
be able to finish and oh wow, oh we gotta
be kidding. In the full four, SIT's a racer. They
throw it in and so came just just lost it
out of bound, So no time to worry about it.
Two minutes to go. Now you got a defense fifty
two to forty three till a coffee.

Speaker 5 (01:23:05):
That fow it into Cooper and he just dropped the
bottle and out of bounds.

Speaker 3 (01:23:09):
Keith w in doown again. They tried to run everhard
off of straight.

Speaker 2 (01:23:13):
Now it's going to be Baker up top. Looks like
the Calves are going to match up and go back
to man. The man Baker pitches the heat, he's downhill,
Heath all the way, left hand.

Speaker 3 (01:23:24):
Gives lay.

Speaker 2 (01:23:26):
Because that's Keith up and in all of a sudden
fifty two forty five Courthouse back within seven.

Speaker 3 (01:23:33):
Miller has it against the double team. Uves the Cocks
up the card.

Speaker 2 (01:23:37):
Ky ligging Liggan into stone King, back out Cox. Good decision,
go back it out one thirty in County. Miller on
the flys drops the bounce past the Liggan back to Badger.
A nice job by the Calves. Good floor spacing. Cayden
Cox has it down in the corner of the Miller
high poststone King won sixteen.

Speaker 3 (01:23:58):
On the game cloth.

Speaker 2 (01:23:59):
They've got porthouse chain, Badger all the way into the middle,
dribbles through. Miller's got it.

Speaker 3 (01:24:04):
I'll top the Cox one o seven in County.

Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
Now a file that's going to be the fourth Washington
te file. So from this point forward til a.

Speaker 3 (01:24:15):
Coff that go to line and that's one of the
best time in scored possessions. I've seen Chili Coffee.

Speaker 4 (01:24:19):
Aveny and they had a couple of times where they
were down the lane and wisely brought it back out.
You're gonna get hammered back in one thing it helps
there is Hammond is one of your better foul shooters.

Speaker 2 (01:24:28):
Good point. Hamond replaced Livan. Badger's going to end bound
it right in front of me here with a six
to six haighth Cock, big Week Spence.

Speaker 3 (01:24:37):
All the way in the bite court. The Cox double
team goes to chase Cox.

Speaker 2 (01:24:41):
He just simply dribbles around it. Now gets it in
the middle of the Stone King. Stone King all the
way to the rim and lays it in nice child
Cooper's Stone coming fifty four forty five fifty seconds ago.
That comes Courthouse. Everhard has it left side three and
he's got it. Everhard's third three of the night four
forty eight and found the stone King trap there give

(01:25:05):
way to Hammon's hamming over to Miller, Miller up to Badger.
They have a two on one Badger to the rim. No,
they ain no good outcomes Courthouse. They've got two on
one numbers. They'd hustle from cocks to run down. He
will pull up and knock down.

Speaker 3 (01:25:20):
The three ball.

Speaker 2 (01:25:21):
Fifty four fifty one, eighteen seconds to go, and Miller's
filed and you're right on the other end. They just
didn't need it, and the the shot doesn't go and
it allows them to get out and go the other way.

Speaker 3 (01:25:34):
So he set it for you.

Speaker 2 (01:25:36):
Fifty four to fifty one Chili Coffee seventeen point nine.
That was the fifteen foules, so one Miller's going to
go till one. Now if he could make one of these,
it obviously makes the two possessional together thing. Yeah we
got fouls, Oh yeah, we got.

Speaker 4 (01:25:51):
Four fouls to get well the problem Cam took it
to the hall, but it was too difficult to shot
on big free throw ab eight mine.

Speaker 2 (01:26:00):
Miller pushes it to that two possession I was referring to.
Fifty five fifty one seventeen point nine is what they have.
The clock stot that second free throat, good.

Speaker 3 (01:26:13):
Time out. That's a fool. One will step away. Fifty
six fifty one Chilicoffee.

that what you said to me there on the top?

Speaker 5 (01:27:06):
No, I made a point earlier.

Speaker 4 (01:27:07):
They were three, they were three of eighteen, and then
all of a sudden they get hot. They've made five
courthouse five threes in a row. Coach Bidder just said,
that's terrible. We got to guard the three point line.
It's just been a cavalcade of probably you know, the
calves haven't done poorly, but it did a great job
of running the clock down, and then the last time
probably could have ran it down more. Decided to take

(01:27:28):
the shot and it was a lay up, but it
was a contested layup.

Speaker 5 (01:27:31):
Bo.

Speaker 3 (01:27:31):
Well, you wish I'll see your.

Speaker 5 (01:27:33):
Thing here during that time out, and you mentioned it.

Speaker 4 (01:27:35):
Calves have four fouls to give with eighteen seconds, so
we should be able to slow things down here.

Speaker 2 (01:27:40):
Just don't want to foul them on a shot. Looks
like they're gonna pick up here just a little bit.
Fall into haycock on the dribble. Give way there to
heat heath fowl, give a foul, Give a foul. We
got a foul to give. Hay talk for three and
it's good. He knocks it down. Noa hate cock. That's
at the fifty six, fifty four.

Speaker 3 (01:28:01):
They throw it all the way to the other end
of Badger. He's got the ball and the clock is
gonna run out and.

Here is the Chilicothe Cavaliers complete the season sweep fifty
six fifty four. Looked like the Cavs were going to
run away and hide there in the fourth quarter. Give
the Blue Lines a lot of credit that come all
the way back. They make good on five straight three
point baskets as Greg was telling us, But the Chilicothey
huge free throws from Jan Miller and they were able

(01:32:33):
to get out of here with a fifty six fifty
four win.

Speaker 3 (01:32:38):
I shouldn't the shooting numbers really picked up there. Give
us some final totals there, Greg.

Speaker 4 (01:32:42):
Well, the Blue Lions shot better from the three point
line than they did from the two points, and they
made as many free or many shots from the three
point line. I had them for ten field goals, ten
three point goals total on the night, twenty and fifty one,
so they shoot thirty little over thirty nine percent, but
they shot forty percent from the three point line, just

(01:33:02):
over forty percent, ten out of twenty four for the
blue lines from the three, and as you just said,
that came with one, two, three, four, five, six in
a row. They were down by fifteen or sixteen. They
had six threes in a row and brought it right back.
The Cavs did a pretty good job, maybe forced one
shot and the other thing. I could hear coach stone

(01:33:22):
King saying, we've got four foles to give, We've got
four foules to give, and you know, you could force
them to run ten of those sixteen seconds off and
we didn't do it, gave up the three, but it
still allowed us to be ahead by two. But a
lot of wild finish uh fort Chillicothe tonight. I had
him twenty two of fifty two. That's forty two percent,
pretty good, shooting six of ten. A lot of those

(01:33:44):
came in the first half. They wore two out of
three from the three and the second half, both those
by Cooper stone King and his two steals and five
straight points blew it up from a two point to
a seven point lead and really got them on a roll.
But Cooper made those two threes. We wind up six
out of ten sixty percent from the three for Chillicothe,
and it turned out big on the night, two point difference.

(01:34:05):
They were four to six from the foul line, we
were six of eight. And you mentioned those big foul
shots the end by one Miller.

Speaker 3 (01:34:11):
No question you you you told me to mark it down.

Speaker 5 (01:34:14):
Uh you highlight something to go maybe in the quarter
it was six.

Speaker 2 (01:34:19):
Well, it started right around under seven minutes on the
first remember he picked it up. It was thirty four
to thirty two. He picks the first pass off, he
pulls up for three. Then the next time down he
steps in the passing, the lane goes and lays it in.
Right around the six thirty four mark was when that
time out was taken. And the lead went from thirty
four to thirty two to thirty nine thirty two, and

(01:34:40):
and the Calves break it open. Back comes Washington Courthouse.
They they hit the three balls. You said five in
a row. They got it all the way back to
two or and then credit to Jan Miller as he
goes and he hits some free throws and Chili Coffee
gets out of here at the fifty six fifty four.

Speaker 3 (01:35:01):
Waiting on Coach Beard, I might as well give you
some individual scoring.

Speaker 2 (01:35:03):
On the Chillicaifee side, looks like Caden Cox and Cooper
stone King both share game high totals of nineteen. They
got there a little bit differently. For Caden Cox it
was pretty balanced throughout the evening. Quarter by quarter he
had three dunks on his way to nineteen points. Cooper
stone King seventeen of those. Greg in the second half

(01:35:25):
was just outstanding. He also had nineteen eight For Cam Badger,
his normal outstanding energy and effort. Andrew Hammond knocked down
a couple of threes. He had six two for one
Miller you highlighted the two key free throws and then
two four cart Liggan.

Speaker 3 (01:35:43):
I get to to our fifty six total.

Speaker 2 (01:35:45):
Over on the Courthouse side, as Coach Beard's gonna get
settled in here, it was Bryce and Heath who knocked
down five threes. He had seventeen according to my totals,
came in with ten or eleven threes on the entire year.

Speaker 3 (01:35:56):
He hit five tonight. Then Everheart was thirteen to jess
Ski with eight.

Speaker 2 (01:36:02):
They do a nice job of holding Paycock to five,
Lindsay with four, Baker had five, and then Osborne with two.
And we're joined here by Coach Beard and coach I
tell you what, let's start on the positive side.

Speaker 3 (01:36:15):
First.

Speaker 2 (01:36:15):
We've said it all year long, when you guys defend
at a high level and you're able to turn that
into easy points on the other end, the energy and
the crowd, the energy and your kids, you can just
see it. And I thought the stone King and Cox
really spark in that area there in the third quarter.

Speaker 17 (01:36:30):
Yeah, that's been the goal all year long for our
defense to generate points for us. No, we're not really
a great half court offensive team, so we would like
to get some pressure, get out in the passing lanes,
get in in transition and try some try to score
some more easy baskets. I know we missed there in
the fourth quart I bet we missed three or four
easy layups where we were looking to draw contactstead of

(01:36:51):
just finishing and strong.

Speaker 16 (01:36:52):
So you know, our guys played hard.

Speaker 17 (01:36:55):
We got out to like a fifteen or sixteen point late,
I believe, went to a tooth rezone that kind of
stiled them for a little bit. Went back, man, and
I guess our guys kind of lost focus on what
we were trying to do. We wanted to take away
the three point shot and make them drive against us
and make tough shots. As you can see, I think
they hit what's five or six six threes there in

(01:37:15):
the fourth quarter of drawing back in, So good win
for us. Another great teaching moment, just trying to get
our kids understand basketball.

Speaker 16 (01:37:24):
Qu's been a big thing so far.

Speaker 3 (01:37:26):
Go ahead, well, coach.

Speaker 2 (01:37:28):
The second question I had for you, you get caught
in between sometimes the time and score.

Speaker 3 (01:37:32):
It's hard.

Speaker 2 (01:37:33):
You know, an athletic team like Courthouse, they're running, jumping
you from everywhere. You look up at the board and
you know that, Okay, we don't need it, We're not
in a hurry. Yeah, your kids did have a nice
like almost fifty second.

Speaker 3 (01:37:43):
Possession the one time, But at the same time, sometimes.

Speaker 2 (01:37:45):
It's hard and you don't want to get timid too early.
Is that something you feel like the kids are really starting.

Speaker 17 (01:37:49):
To they're starting to under the start to understand when
to go and when to pull it back.

Speaker 16 (01:37:53):
They have a few good decisions.

Speaker 17 (01:37:54):
One down here by Coop when he drove it in,
he looked like he was going to try to force
up a shot, but kicked them out.

Speaker 16 (01:38:00):
The one, and I think Kayden Cox had one on
the other side.

Speaker 17 (01:38:03):
Typically early in the season that would have been a
fourth shot instead of kicking it out.

Speaker 16 (01:38:06):
So you do see them starting to.

Speaker 17 (01:38:08):
Mature and grow up a little bit on certain areas.
But if we're going to be a really good basketball team,
we've got to make sure we're clearing things up correctly.

Speaker 5 (01:38:16):
Yeah, I thought I thought offensively. You shared the ball
real well.

Speaker 4 (01:38:20):
You mentioned the other night about the good first quarter,
the second quarter, second quarter.

Speaker 5 (01:38:24):
You're shooting. I think in the first quarter you were
five of eight.

Speaker 4 (01:38:27):
Slowed up a little bit, You're still shooting fifty percent
at halftime. But at halftime in the first quarter you
shot the ball like seventy percent, but you only shot
eight times. They shot fifteen. And part of that was
the offensive boards. But as the game went on, thank
you a better job of keeping them off.

Speaker 16 (01:38:42):
The board, And that was that was our emphasis. The
second quarter.

Speaker 17 (01:38:46):
We were giving up way too many offensive rebounds, and
we had guys looking at the shots instead of going
to put a body on somebody. And I thought we
did a really good job from the second quarter on
about making sure we got a butt on somebody rebounding it.
And I felt like once we rebound it, we can
get out and push it in transition, and we.

Speaker 16 (01:38:59):
Were able to get some easy buckets that way.

Speaker 2 (01:39:01):
You know, coaching the dribble drive that that you're defending
there tonight. A lot of times I thought you were
doing such a good job of sending help. A lot
of times it was a rotational thing. So a lot
of times I thought, as the night went on, you
guys really did a good job in your on ball defense.
They present quite a challenge with two or three kids
off the dribble. I thought you guys were sailing in
that area.

Speaker 16 (01:39:21):
Yeah, that was the big emphasis at halftime.

Speaker 17 (01:39:23):
We felt they were spreading us out and we have
to do a better job of keeping the ball in
front of us. In the first half, I felt like
guys were stepping into help when they didn't need to
step into help. Guys, yes, they were getting biassed, but
they weren't going to the basket. They were going sideways
and there was no reason to help there. So we
did a better job of executing it in the second half,
keeping guys in front of us, and we really limited

(01:39:44):
the help. We wanted them to make tough shots over
top of us versus giving up wide open threes.

Speaker 2 (01:39:50):
I know the one thing game in my mind, I
was just getting ready to ask you about it great
when when Coach had come out this This reminded me
so much. Coach at the end of the warring game,
and you know you, I was sworn up this much there,
but you certainly had an opportunity in regulation down there
to beat a really good basketball team, and I could
tell you were disappointed. Now you loved your kids effort.
This wasn't perfect, but man, that shows a lot of

(01:40:10):
growth from for that night until this night. You walked
down a couple free throws. You take care of the ball.

Speaker 3 (01:40:16):
That's got to make you feel good to get a
win in that wak.

Speaker 16 (01:40:18):
It does, because, like you mentioned, we're in situations prior
to this. We found a way to lose.

Speaker 17 (01:40:25):
Okay, tonight, I think we found a way to win
even though we give up a barrage of three point
shots that weren't necessary. We still found a way to win.
And you highlighted that fifty second possession we had. I
think that's the best offensive stall possession that we had
in the first four four years i've been here. Some
guys weren't standing around, they were coming to the basketball.

(01:40:45):
They were under control, finding the open guy. So when
I saw that, I'm like, Okay, we're starting to get
something here.

Speaker 4 (01:40:52):
So one more question coach at the end of the game,
and it was sixteen seconds. One hit two big free
throws where you put you up four, but you had
to you had no team fouls, and I think I
heard coach Stunt King say we got four fouls to
give and you call time out.

Speaker 3 (01:41:05):
That you told them to fight.

Speaker 17 (01:41:06):
Yeah, we talked to them and they said let them
take two or three dribbles and fall them.

Speaker 16 (01:41:10):
We didn't found them. As I said at the beginning
the year, we're still working on progress.

Speaker 3 (01:41:19):
We've all been brought you.

Speaker 4 (01:41:21):
I thought I heard you said we got four to
give go ahead and run a few seconds from we did.

Speaker 5 (01:41:26):
Okay, maybe they didn't hear you.

Speaker 3 (01:41:29):
That's gonna not to hear me.

Speaker 16 (01:41:30):
I think everybody stands here.

Speaker 3 (01:41:33):
Well coach.

Speaker 2 (01:41:33):
Last one here you get to wear the white uniforms
for quite a while. You and I were talking early
in the JV game to night, this has got to
feel good in terms of the moment I'm going forward.

Speaker 3 (01:41:42):
Uh, you guys talked about that a little bit after
the game.

Speaker 17 (01:41:44):
We we talked about that actually last night during walkthrough.
This senior class has been with me since they were
a freshmen as I came in to take over the job.
We've never had a three game winning streak. This is
our first three game winning street. So guys are feeling
good about themselves now. Unfortunately, we got to come back
and play New Albney tomorrow. But you know, like I

(01:42:04):
told the guys, this, this game right here tomorrow is
a gauge for us to see where we're at, how
far we've come. New Albany is a great basketball team.
I think they've lost two games in the OCC They
have two Division one guards that are really, really good,
So it's.

Speaker 16 (01:42:19):
Gonna be quite a chest for us.

Speaker 17 (01:42:21):
However, we're going to prepare it just like we're playing
anyone else and hopefully we get the same outcome. We
were going full in expecting to win this basketball game.
And play hard, and it's such the chips far where
they fall.

Speaker 3 (01:42:32):
Well, good stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:42:33):
Maybe give the fans a little bit scheduling tomorrow night,
Hall of Fame night, crack Hall of Fame night.

Speaker 3 (01:42:37):
What time we start that.

Speaker 17 (01:42:38):
So the Hall of Fame will be right before we
come out and warm ups, so we'll probably have it
be about ten or fifteen minutes right after the JV game.

Speaker 2 (01:42:46):
Okay, well, coach here enough for coming out. Awesome win,
keep them rolling and we'll see you tomorrownight.

Speaker 16 (01:42:52):
All right, appreciate it, guys, Thank you, coach, good job.

Speaker 3 (01:42:55):
Big win for you.

Speaker 16 (01:42:56):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:42:58):
And that's coach Beard of the winning Chilipopee Cavaliers and
Night and Greg, I thought some of the questions we
were asking him, there are some things we talked about
in the air. I thought he was very insightful. Just
you can tell game by game, win by when it's
starting to come together and it's exciting to watch.

Speaker 4 (01:43:15):
Well, we talked, you know, things are coming together. Guys
are recognizing roles, things you normally talk about. But and
Shane's you've coached for a long time, been around all
those all sports. There's still a point of I don't
know if it's maybe much of a cliche, but learning
how to win, sure, but understanding situations and you know,
time and clock being one that we talk a lot about.

(01:43:36):
Understanding time and clock, understanding what's going on, understanding who's
the shooter. On the other there's a lot of little things,
and you know, you get coached up, you get coached up,
and I think some of that coach Beard was talking
about are starting to come together a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:43:49):
Well, certainly exciting coming up on the Hall of Fame
night tomorrow night. New Aubney will come call and we'll
have it for you here on wb X. I think
lou Post is just coming in on the schedule to
call that one with me and.

Speaker 3 (01:44:00):
Then he loosue me out.

Speaker 5 (01:44:03):
And then.

Speaker 2 (01:44:05):
Greg, if we're able to, we'll have Monday, Wednesday, Friday
together next week. And like I said, the Cavs good
a chance to stay at home. So on that note,
we'll get on out of here. Make sure you go
over to WKKJ right around nine forty five acrid heating,
cooling and plumbing scoreboards show.

Speaker 3 (01:44:21):
I'll go join Vanessa and Sydney.

Speaker 2 (01:44:23):
We'll get about twelve thirteen coaches hopefully again this week.

Speaker 3 (01:44:26):
Talk, a lot of area basketball.

Speaker 2 (01:44:29):
It should be a lot of fun. So Nathan, thank
you so much for the effort. Back in studio, Greg,
thank you. This is Shane Colembs's final score for the
final time Chilicaffee wins it. Fifty six fifty four.

Speaker 3 (01:44:41):
