Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know it's funny. These are fun days, I'll be
honest with you. In sports radio and I think in
sports media as a whole, the draft is just turned
into this big event. The only downside can we all
just agree the dumbest thing ever Colleen Wolfe and what's
a bit Laura Rutledge coming out. We had to have
one from the NFL network, one from ESPNS. The two
ladies came out to some music, kind of semi dancing
(00:23):
to make the announcement of the announcement of the NFL
scheduling schedule announcement on May fourteenth. Outside of that, tons
of fun. All that we can do without that is
a ton of fun. And why do I say that?
Because I got these two guys next to me. If
you're watching on the Fox thirteen stream, Robrang Foxsports dot Com,
Corbyn Smith, Animal City Spectrum. They work together, they do
podcasts together, right.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Yeah, your poor listeners have any deal with both of
us at the same time. That might be a little
bit overwhelming. You know what, they're thinking less of me,
more of somebody else. And so that's a good thing.
But Corbyn's here has been coming the Hawks for a
long time.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Rob and I've been doing drafts since two thousand and seven,
eight something like that. Together. That's when I first met
Robbie actually saved me. I was that was back. That
was back in the day when it was all day Saturday,
it was all and it was more. It was more
than seven rounds that year. To look up, it was,
I'll look back because I remember that draft specific.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
I thought they get rid of the eighth round before
two thousand.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
It was, yeah, it was. It was seven all seven rounds.
That was the Josh Wilson Draft. And I was with
the old Northwest College and I'm I'm doing a radio show.
I was the new guy, had been at KJR for
eight months, nine months and Purple Sheet Rich Morre says, hey,
you just go do the draft show. We'll have sound
and we'll have all these things. I got out there.
I was by myself, no Hugh Millen, nobody else, no sounds.
(01:46):
Our producer at the time, I God bless him. He
just sat there and says, oh, just take a break here,
that's it. Just so I just talked and at some
point like I'm done, like I probably, and the picks
went so long. Right back then, the Seaxus didn't have
first round pick joshuas so the second pick, and I
ran into this guy. I don't even know how I
met him, and Rob Rank somehow bailed me out and
into up doing radio with me, and we're here, we
(02:06):
are all these years later.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
So thank you, thank you, thank you.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
What an origin story. I know. I love that. All right,
let's go day two. Let's let's start with it with
your second Corbett, Rob, what are we gonna do Day two?
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Well, again, I think that this is a draft that
really sets up well for the Seahawks. And I think
that because they went with the offensive line early on,
then now you can take advantage of where the real
depth of this class lies. As far as edge rusher's,
defensive linemen, and wide receiver. To me, those are the
positions of greatest concern for this team at this point.
(02:38):
There are a number of prospects that each of those positions.
I know that everybody's going to focus on quarterbacks now.
Obviously the Seorge Sanders story, Tyler Shuck is still out there,
Will Howard, some guys that you know, Corman and I
have been talking about a little bit that could be
fits for the Seahawks. But again, I think that at edge,
rusher and wide receiver are going to be at least
two of the first four picks the Seahawks make to all.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Right, Corman, So let's not get into specific players yet.
We'll do that in a second. Positions of need they
addressed one big one to a certain extent, not fully yesterday,
right with the interior of the offensive line with Gray Zabel.
What are the other big positions of need right now?
Speaker 2 (03:13):
I think you got to take advantage of this defensive
tackle class early here in day two. I mean, this
is a historically good defensive tackle class. And as you said,
we'll get into specific players here in a minute. But
you listened to John Schneider yesterday. It wouldn't give specifics
about why Cameron Young was waived. But you don't have
Cameron Young. Jonathan Hankins wasn't resigned at least at this point,
They've got a massive hole figuraly and literally at that
(03:36):
nose tackle position. And I also think the edge spot,
look blame Mafe is gonna be a free agent after
this year. Jennon Uosu has played in I believe he's
missed twenty two games total the last two years. He's
had injury issues, His contract after this year is going
to be murky. And behind those guys, DeMarcus Lawrence is
going on thirty three years old, so you know how
(03:56):
much you're gonna get out of him at this point.
So I think that's a position you got be looking
at twenty six and beyond, and there's a lot of
depth there at that position.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Take advantage of there. They have eight players on the
interior defensive line on the roster right now, DeMarcus Lawrence,
Mike Morris, Leonard Williams, Jaron Reid, Byron Murphy the second,
Quentin Bohanna, and Brandon Peely and some guy named Kenneth
You know that guy's name? Rob go ahead? Oh no,
idea to Meg wu Yeah, I think it's yeah, that
(04:25):
guy who just yeah, just flies off the page. That's
what they have. That's there's a major, major need there,
So you think going right right to that point.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
I also would mention receiver as well, because to me,
this is the sweet spot where there's gonna be a
lot of receivers.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Hold the receiver thought, this is where we put this
guy to work, all right, This is where we make
this guy earn his money. All the big money and
the Farelli's pizza we give him and everything else. Defensive tackles,
interior defensive lineman who they're looking at.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Yeah, I think that, uh, for the defensive tackles. Let's see,
I got my list here the top players available. You know,
I was surprised, to be honest with that. We saw
a couple of the defensive tackles that come off the
board late in the first round. Kenth Grant was actually
number thirteen overall. I believe the Miami Dolphins, which I
thought was one of the real reaches of the draft,
(05:10):
Tyler Williams defensive tackle that wound up going to the
Detroit Lions the tail portion of the first round. That's
why I agree with Corbin in that defensive tackle is
historically deep this year. I don't necessarily view a lot
of the defensive tackles as like the best players available
at the top. I think that there's going to be
a number of guys that are going to be available
(05:31):
more in that third round range. So you know, I've
top my head. I have to kind of look at it.
My next highest rate defensive tackle is Alfred Collins, who
I have is the twenty seventh best player available that
actually may wind up working out pretty darn well for
the Seahawks, considering that they have eighteen selections before Seattle
is up at number fifty overall. Alfred Collins would be
an interesting one though, because you know, six foot six,
(05:53):
three hundred and thirty two pounds, so he is a
much much larger man than what the Seahawks drafted a
year ago out of Texas to Bayer Murphy. But at
the same time you would be reunite him and Alex
Collins has the excuse me, Alfred Collins. Alex Collins on
there running back previously at the Yes tragically, but Alfred
Collins has the size to kind of play up and
(06:15):
down the line of scrimmage. As Corbyn pointed out a
moment ago, no more Cameron Young Jonathan Hankins is a
big man of simple kind of size. Collins to me
is one of the guys that can play that nose
guard position, but he also can slide outside to play
that kind of five technique defensive end role that Red
Bryant famously played for the sex all those years ago
as well.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
So that's okay, let's let's go receiver, because I think
that's you know, you know, even even my offensive lineman
Sun mentioned, you know, cups there, but they need receivers.
It's it's is it, Rob, You're the one that came
up with the stat, right, Yeah, get the stat again.
Corman probably knows this. I'm sure you've told him this
on your podcast.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
We talked about it.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
So the Seahawks have nine wide receivers on their roster
right now, and only two of them have ever run
a four to four or faster and four to four
or faster. So that's the thing, is that that means
that the Seahawks have, you know, one of the slowest
wide receiver corps in all the NFL. Now, look, I
think that you can overrate speed, but at the same time,
(07:12):
I think that in this offense, Klint Kubek's offense, that
you have to have receivers that can make people miss
after the catch. You have to have that big playability.
You can't put it all on Sam Darnold just to
be pinpoint accurate at every stage, So get him some help.
And of course with the trade of DK Metcalf and
Tyler Lockett moving on as well, then it is absolutely
(07:33):
critical that the Seahawks, you know, focusing on that wide
receiver position. And again, while I'm excited about some of
the defensive tackles there, I was remiss and not mentioning
a player I'm really high on, Joshua Farmer from Florida State.
At the same time, I think that this is just
chock full of wide receivers at this point. I've mentioned
Luther Burden the third from Missouri many times before. He
is one of my absolute favorite players.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
With him, he's going to be gone by eighteen in
the second round, right, Is he worth trading for?
Speaker 3 (08:00):
I think he is, you know, but that again, now,
he primarily played the slot position at Missouri. Obviously, Jackson
Smith and Jigba has played the slot for the Seahawks
the past couple of seasons, and that's where Cooper Cup
has excelled as well. So I can understand the argument
that perhaps that he is not the best fit for
the Seahawks. I would disagree with that assessment because I
(08:22):
think that again, when I look at Luther Bird and
the third his ability as a return man, I think
that he has the size and physicality and speed to
be able to move outside as well. But I know
going back to my co host partner in crime with
Corbyn here. He has been talking so much about Iowa
state wide receiver Jaden Higgins, and I know that you're
(08:43):
excited to kind of talk about why he might be
a good fit for the Seahawks.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
You mentioned with Luther Bird and the third the slot presence.
You need a big bodied receiver that can win downfield
and can also create some after the catch. Jayden Higgins
can do all those things. I had a late first
grade on Jayden Higgins. If you can get him at fifty,
that might even be a player that's worth moving up
and getting because we're talking he's faster than Tenoroe McMillan
right in the low four fours.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
Put up eleven hundred receiving yards.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Even though Jalen Noel another guy I think will go today,
really good receiver, but he's more similar to Jackson Smith
and Jig. But with what he does, they need an
X right, They need a big body to act. And
this is the other thing that I love about Jadon Higgins,
and I know CLAYT. Kubiak's gonna love it about it
that dude gets after it as a blocker. He is
nasty and you can just tell that he enjoys that
(09:30):
part of the game.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
He uses his.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
Sides well as a blocker. All right, that's Corman Smith,
Rob Range Interness with you with the Virginia Mason Athletic Center.
It's a day two the NFL Draft. Four picks for
the Seahawks coming up today, starting at four o'clock. Again,
the draft starts early. Softy and Faine and Hugh and
Holmgren starting with the draft at four. They're on at
three and by the way, at three o'clock they'll be
joined by Hall of Famer Steve Hutchinson with Mike Honggren
(09:54):
and the crew. That will be very, very fun coming
up at three o'clock today to have much with his
old coach and Hugh Mill and Softy and Dick and
everything else. So that's coming up at three o'clock today.
Let's let's as we look at kind of the the
trajectory of how things are going to go, and one
other thing. Four nine, four to five one. That's the
text line. If you want to ask a question to
these two guys, they're here, They're sitting here, They're not
(10:16):
going anywhere. You're gonna stick around for one more segment. Yeah. Yeah,
if you want to ask a question draft related four nine,
four to five one, we'll get some of those. You
can find out, you know, you can ask Rob who
the backup tight end is from Norfolk State, and they'll
tell you all the guy's measurables and what he ran
and everything else off the top of his head. It's genius.
How it is You ever amazed by this guy? Do
you ever just like, go, well, I.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Just couldn't believe that there was a player last year
that he didn't know Mike Durrell.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
He was kind of Who's that? That was the first
time I'd ever seen Okay, you know what? That was
the first in like seventeen years. I know, did anger you? Yeah?
He took it personally. I think he also took it.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Like when I started thinking about it, realized that when
I was coaching in Indianapolis that he scored a touchdown
against me and a jad's scrimmage again, remember that, I
was like, that's why the name rung a bell with me.
I was like, I don't know who he is, but
that was was familiar.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
That was funny because when that did happen, it was
like Rob, just like we're sitting here and he's like,
you can see the mine. It's extremely difficult. It's not overheating.
At that point, I got wiped Arell. What the hell
they doing to me here?
Speaker 3 (11:13):
It's fortunate that we're right here next Lake Washington, because
the man like smoke coming out of my ears. I
pretty much jumped into the water there.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
The cornerbacks did not go yesterday, but a lot of
those guys have red flags with injuries. Do you think
we're going to see a cornerback run?
Speaker 3 (11:26):
I do? I think that that's Uh, that's to me.
It was one of the fascinating things about this is
because it has been, you know, perceived as being this
this quarterback class that lacks talent, and I just don't
think that's really fair. It's not as gifted top end. Obviously,
we had six quarterbacks go last corner corner corner, Yes,
I do you think you're gonna see plenty of corners go?
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (11:46):
You know, Will Johnson certainly is one of them, come
off of injury. Savonnravel from East Carolina coming off of
the injury. Both of them are absolutely first round guys
on tape. They could be players that while cornerback is
not necessarily a huge area of concern I think for
the seas at least on paper then, But if you
look at it past this season, you know Rieck Wollan
(12:09):
is in the final year off his contract. He's been
in and out of the doghouse. Josh Jobs on a
one year deal. Devin Witherspoon is great of a player
as he is. He is still one hundred and eighty pounds,
so can wet. You always have to worry about his durability.
So I think the corner back is absolutely a bigger
priority frankly for the Seahawks than quarterback, which has been
so talked about so much. You know in the build
(12:30):
up to the drug it.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Would help if the host could annunciate it better. Well.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
I got two other corners to add to that. Darien
Porter from Iowa State six'. Three his passer rating against
last year is only years a, starter but it was
four point. Seven that is not A. Typeo four point
seven passer rating against ran in the four.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Threes with his.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Size he is a really fun. Prospect And Dorian strong
From Virginia. Tech that guy is A mike McDonald. Corner
he is, physical he likes to come up and get
in the run. Game he gets his hands on the
football a lot and just has the character that they're
looking for. Too so there's a lot of guys On
day two at that. Position now that might be a
sneap sleeper position in the second round For seattle.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Pitch, yeah that's WHAT i. Think What rob mentions, right
because if you just looking on, paper they got they Got,
witherspoon they Got, Wolan joe played well for him last,
season and then a bunch of other guys are deaf.
Guys but The Greek wolan thing is an interesting. Dynamic
mike McDonald had no problem benching him last. Year here's
a guy that could have been what he was being
talked about For rookie of The year just two years,
ago along With, sauce and then all of a, sudden
(13:32):
he kind of falls out AND i don't know if
he's taking a step. BACK i don't know if he
just hasn't taken a step. FORWARD i don't know what it.
Is the talent's. There we've seen the talent With Greek,
wolan and if K woman is, right like he's an
impact player and maybe he will be right this. Year
it just didn't feel like that was the case.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Last, year AND i am optimistic that this is going
to be a spectacular season For Riek. Wollan and part
of it is just financially. BASED i, mean he's entering
the final year of his rookie, deal you, know and
he's gonna be looking to get. Paid AND i also
think that he sees the rioting on the wall that
again he's been kind of in and out of the
doghouse for now two coaching, Staffs mike McDonald and previously
(14:09):
The Pete carroll as. Well SO i think that he
is going to be extra focused because as you, said
AND i mean he is a ridiculously gifted young, man
he has the ball, skills AND i think that you're
going to see an improved pass rush from The seahawks this.
YEAR i think that's going to create more big play.
Opportunities and when you have the ball skills that Are
(14:31):
Reek wooling or As corbin mentioned before with The Iowa
state Corner Darian porter is former wide, RECEIVER i mean
there's a lot of those same type of characteristics that
are that make them good fits In mike McDonald's.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Defense All, right there's TIMES i Just i'm amazed by
my own brilliance in terms of producing a show on the. Fly, Really, yes,
Yeah i'm Just i'm amazed by myself. Surprised i'm going
to go. Home, yeah he's such a good. TIME i
joke about. THAT i looked. DOWN i just, said, hey you,
know if you have questions for these, GUYS i figured
maybe we'd have a couple three. Questions that's not you
got a. Lot, yeah there's a. Lot, Uh and there's
(15:03):
a really good. ONE i want to start with About
Jalen sondel because it's a really it's a it's a
it's a really good question BECAUSE i think a lot
of people here's a name that has been tossed. Around
if people were following our draft coverage yesterday ON, kjr
if they're Following CORBYN I University, spectrum in the podcast
and everything, else you, guys do they've heard the Name
sundell a, lot especially over the last twenty, hours Like
(15:25):
Jalen's North Dakota STATE Oh Team Mason race Is abel
who raved about him as. Well we'll get to that
question and much. More four nine four or five to.
One corbyn's, Here rob's, here don't forget top of the
hour three, O'clock Steve hutchinson joins The Softy, Millan, Maler, Millon, Millan,
maller Fame holmgrid show that's coming up at three o'clock
With Steve hudginson right here at The Virginia Mason Athletic
(15:46):
center nine three point THREE. Kjfm welcome to THE Nfl.
Speaker 4 (15:50):
Draft now back to The Virginia Mason Athletics center and
the twenty twenty FIVE Nfl draft and brought to you By,
corslight BY r AND R foundation, specialists The Queen Anne
Beer home and By fox thirteen On Sports radio ninety
three point three kJ R.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
Fl it's about ninety minutes away From day two starting
in THE Nfl, draft rounds two and three starting at four.
O'clock pas, victim don't forget coming up three, O'clock, Dave, Softy,
Maher Dick, Fain Hugh, Millen Mike holmgren at three o'clock
joined By Steve. Hutchison that's right off the top of the.
Show so we're out of here in just a few
(16:27):
minutes and we'll turn it over to, them having The
hall Of famer joining the guys including Coach. Home we're
gonna coming up at three o'clock. Today he let's get
some text four, nine four to five to. One this
is the ONE i mentioned a moment ago comes from
a two five to three area. Code, guys how Is?
Jalen by the, way It's Rob rangs with us. Today
he'll be with us back at seven o'clock tonight and
then nine o'clock tomorrow morning with me our good Friend
Corbin smith here as. Well how Is Jalen sundal compared
(16:50):
To Gray? Zabel both Were North Dakota State University All
american offensive. Tackles sundal seems. Underrated he's a member of The,
hawks made the team as an undrafted free agent last.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
Year at least for, me they are very similar players
as as was noted in the, question they were both
Were All americans at the left tackle. Position sundell wound
up playing a lot of center as well in his
sophomore in junior. Seasons they're basically exactly the same kind
of a, build six foot five three and ten pounds.
(17:19):
Roughly you, KNOW i See sundell as being a. Guy that,
is he is not quite in my, opinion as athletic
as As Gray's. Abel you, know it's abel to, me
it is just remarkable in that. Way, Uh sundell has
a very good short area, quickness and he just needed
to get stronger to be able to play at THE nfl,
(17:40):
level at a high. LEVEL i think that he is
very much in play to be the starter in, center you,
know for The seahawks this. Year LOOK i like At,
timmy BUT i think that That sundell is an even
better fit in this wide zone. Attack and the fact
that Both mike McDonald And John scheid are unprompted Mentioned
sundell throughout this entire, PROCESS i think they feel That
(18:01):
sundel has a great deal of untapped potential as well
As Arnold.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Schwarzenegger would say the clown. Babies, yeah those guys are.
Identical they rob, said same, size same skill. SET i
actually Think SUNDELL i have to go back and look
at the relative athletics, score BUT i think he scored
a little higher Than Grey zabel. Did but it's fascinating
when you CONSIDER i believe That zabel played all five,
Spots sundal played four positions At North. DAKOTAS i, mean
(18:25):
they just play musical chairs with their linemen and they
do it. Successfully they train all those, guys they cross train.
Them and we've talked about continuity With John. Schneider he's
mentioned that multiple. Times are there's just not enough continuity
in the offensive. Line that to me makes me wonder
you draft Grays abel do you try to ramp up that?
Continuity because he And sundell have played a lot of
(18:45):
snaps together on the offensive, line you have a build
in relationship that's gonna help the rookie get up to
speed quicker when he's got a guy that he knows
to play next to. Him and As rob, Said sundell
is just a better athlete Than. Olo timmy four nine
four five.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
One it's an interesting question because one of the guys
that maybe kind of has been a, polarising potential pickle
on the Way Mike green AND i thought this was
an interesting question four nine four or five to one
to TWO o. Six is is it safe to Assume
Mike green Of marshall has been removed from The seahawks draft?
Board what was his what are his?
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Issues, well he's had a couple of domestic violence related
issues that he's. Dealt the couple is in plural, Plural,
yes is to my, Knowledge there's been three incidents in the.
Past i'm just gonna put this way after The league McDowell. Situation,
Look Jalen carter was taking off their draft board a
few years. AGO i do not see any way That
(19:38):
Mike green is on their draft board at this.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Point, YEAH i kind of struggle, with, uh you, know
just the idea of removing players from a board until
you you, know talk to the true investigators and in
my expertise if you want to use that word as
very much in evaluating players rather than, people you. Know
BUT i will say, this My green is a trific football.
Player oh you. Know he he is explosive off the,
(20:01):
edge he let he is absolutely.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
So thirty two teams already passed.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
On, yes he led the led THE fbs with seventeen
sacks this past, season goes to The Senior, bowl was
very productive.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
There he.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
Played he has the juice off the off the edge to,
be you, know a stand up outside linebacker In mike McDonald's.
System this is a position of concern for The. Seahawks
so WHILE i do have some reservations about the character,
grades just getting some conversations with. Scouts at the same,
TIME i also think that that young people deserve second
or third or fourth. Opportunities SO i just don't know
(20:35):
for a fact that he is off their. BOARD i
do Expect Mike green to be among the first fifteen
or so players selected this year or selected in the second,
round and that he is going to wind up very
much out playing his. Draft ask if he can stay
on the straight and.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Narrow we've got a couple more. Questions So, rob get
your tight end hat on for, me will? You this
comes from our Friend grant what tight end fits The
seahawks the? Best considering they already Have barner on the
roster AND i guess still on the roster as we
speak right, now right is he gonna be on the?
Speaker 3 (21:03):
ROSTER i think at this point he.
Speaker 4 (21:05):
Is?
Speaker 1 (21:05):
Yeah, Okay so which are the guys royal other guys who?
Speaker 3 (21:09):
Fits, Yeah and that was a question we were talking about
a little bit off the air. Earlier you, know for,
me It's Mason. Taylor Mason taylor is the son Of Jason,
taylor The hall Of famer With Miami, dolphins of, course
was the edge Rusher hall Of fame edge rusher for
The Miami. Dolphins Mason taylor to me there are some
elements of his play that remind me a little bit
Of Will disley And. Mace taylor is a better athlete
(21:32):
than quote Unquote Uncle, will but at the same, time
he has really soft. HANDS i think that's one of
the ways That John schier described when he first Watched
Will disley at The university Of washington proday years. Ago
Mason taylor has some of the best hands of any
tight end in this draft, class AND i think that
he will be the next tight end off the. Board
Elijah arroyo From miami is a seam. Threat he is
(21:55):
a little bit more of That noah f type of a,
player and that he is a guy who struggled a
little bit with injury At. Miami but at the same,
time you just see a guy that can absolutely stretch
the scene and be a big play kind of a
guy that. Way of the, Two Mason, taylor in my,
opinion is the best blocker of those two. Guys i'm
not quite as high in this tight end class. Overall
(22:16):
one of the positions THAT i think The seahawks need
to improve on at tight end IS i think they
need to find a, blocker just a guy who's a
people mover the way That Pharaoh brown was brought in
a year ago to play that. ROLE i didn't think
that he was good enough in that. Role Jackson hawes
From Georgia, tech to, me is one of the best
blocking tight ends in this, class AND i think they C.
J dupree From alabama's another. One but both of those
(22:39):
players are GUYS i expect to be available well into day.
Three not so much in the conversation with the four
picks That seahawks currently have right now on day.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
TWO A. J, barner second year tight end From, michigan of,
course and Then Noah, fant who hasn't really been productive
at all since he came To. Seattle the two main
tight Ends Brady russell they're moving to fullback, ANYWAY i,
think Aren't they isn't at the planet.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Now that's what they've got him listed as right. NOW
i would think they're going to bring somebody else and
they can compete there.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Too all, right let me get a couple more textan
four nine four five. One let's see where it. Was
the ONE i just Saw Mason tit talked About Kyle.
Williams i'll talk about. Him why Not Kyle.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
Williams, yeah So Kyle, Williams Kyle williams From Washington state
will be the first player selected from the who played
their college ball in this. State of, course Cam ward
was number one overall. Selection jackson excuse Me Mecha buca
was the first, one And Josh connerley of course local
prospects as. Well but as far as guys who wrapped
(23:35):
up their college careers in the state Of, Washington Kyle,
williams the wide receiver From Washington state fourteen touchdowns this past,
season second in all of college, football really really good.
Player he has better feet in my, opinion than he has.
Hands they are just there are some drops on tape
that concern you a little. Bit but at the same,
time the guy can just get open against his own.
(23:56):
SHADOW i, mean his initial, quickness his off the off the,
line his ability to kind of create. Separation we talked
about this a couple of about an hour, ago actually
talking about the cam, warder How Kyle williams basically was
able to get. Open whether it was Cam ward throwing the,
Ball dramatier or anybody, else the guy just got. Open
and SO i think THAT nfl team's gonna be really
(24:17):
excited about that as. WELL i expect him to come
off the board late second to mid third.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Round, Finally i'll just ask you, This, cordy real, quick
would you trade up For Will? Johnson, no not right.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
NOW i JUST i have concerns about the medicals with
him dropping into the second round and some of the
things about knee issues that have been cropping. Up if
you're gonna trade, UP i Think Nick manawari makes. Sense
the really athletic safety From South. CAROLINA i think Ez
Arak whu to an, extent would make sense with his
past rushing, productivity and Unlike Mike, green you're talking about
(24:48):
a high, character locker room captain type player That mike
McDonald would love to bring.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
IN tho would be a couple. GUYS i think you
could trade up For you've trained him, Well. Rob he's
doing all this off the top of his head without
a note in his hand. Either. Huh you've trained him? Well.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
WOW i don't know if training is the right. Word
corby is prett talented in his own, right but he
does me proud.
Speaker 1 (25:05):
Consistently you're gonna be back with me And hugh coming
up at seven, Pm, rob And i'll be back with

know check check check. Out just bigger mess than. Me
you're A you're an absolute. Disaster you know, that like
an absolute.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Disaster you.
Speaker 6 (26:33):
Know All i'm doing is turning off my. Microphone i'm
having a conversation with somebody off the. Air you're talking
a home N you don't want the conversation to go
on the. Air So i'm turning off the microphone and
you can't Handle.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
You're going to bring home conversation on The where is he?
Lost is he lost on the way? Here does he
not know how to get?
Speaker 5 (26:47):
Here here's the.
Speaker 6 (26:47):
Thing SO i JUST i just called him and he
told me you told me four. O'CLOCK i, said, no three.
O'clock so is he messing with?
Speaker 1 (26:54):
ME i think he's busting your. Chalk, OKAY i don't
know he, went ALTHOUGH i don't know he was here
car he was here before us yesterday and our show
started at one and he was already here walking, around
AND i think he was down the hotel and The
schnider what to? Do, uh, basically not take The Aaron
curry of this year is what he was telling him to.
Do not to.
Speaker 6 (27:11):
Do, so, yeah don't don't take The Aaron curry of this.
Year who would The Aaron curry of this year? Be
by the, Way rob is?
Speaker 1 (27:16):
There because remember when.
Speaker 6 (27:19):
They when they Drafted Aaron, curry he was supposed to
be like the, most like those are the, most the
most Most Coyle, pitts, Right Kyle.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
Pits they talked about To, so who's The Aaron curry
of this year's?
Speaker 3 (27:31):
Draft, well you, Know. Sanders the way my, YEAH i
thought about that. Too the way my brain works is
when once you Said Aaron, CURRY i thought number four,
overall number four of al pick this year was The Will,
campbell the office tackle for from l S u That
hugh AND i were talking about before that we weren't
quite as high on him as a lot of people
seem to. Be there's gonna be huge expectations For Will
(27:51):
campbell And, foxborough just the way that there, was of
course For Aaron curry. Here so, YEAH i think that
there is some similarities in that, regard even though they
play obviously very different.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Positions, yeah we went. Back we did spend some time with,
uh with your good Friend danny O'Neill.
Speaker 6 (28:07):
Earlier, YEAH i heard that talking about like that's. Expert,
well but and then THEN i heard some kid come
on the radio. Show yeah he was the hell's going on?
Here desperate for? Guests now what's? Happened we Were we will, ever,
ever ever again bust my balls about putting somebody's father
or mother on.
Speaker 5 (28:20):
Exactly exactly put your offspring on the.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Air, hey you know, what how many times he told
me how DUMB i am with the offensive?
Speaker 5 (28:26):
LINE i could have told you THAT i put you on.
Too why do you need your kid to go on
the air and tell you? That he would tell you
how dumb you?
Speaker 3 (28:33):
ARE i do it.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
FOR i would say something, like, boy you KNOW i
don't know about so and so on the offensive, line
and he'd, go you have no idea what you're talking?
About all? Right you know, what, fella you know what
you can. Do you can come on and tell us
about the. OFFENSIVE i thought you'd, okay, okay, yeah, yeah,
yeah little. Nervous if he was with, you probably would
have been my.
Speaker 5 (28:46):
Lot he was pretty good.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
Man he's got a.
Speaker 5 (28:48):
FUTURE i, mean clearly.
Speaker 1 (28:48):

Speaker 6 (28:49):

one here and telling me he's on the freeway he's
not gonna be here on time BECAUSE i told him four.
Speaker 5 (29:06):
O'clock, well, No, mike the draft starts at.
Speaker 6 (29:09):
Four the draft starts at five o'clock Every thursday and
four o'clock Every. Friday so he's probably busting my. Ball
i'm thinking he is because of. This here's here's why.
Speaker 5 (29:17):
He hung up on.
Speaker 6 (29:18):
Me he hung up like normally he'll let me know
he's busting my balls before he hangs up the.
Speaker 5 (29:23):
Radio the far went he went right to Hang.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Is there a chance that he's just down the hall
from where we're seeing he.

Speaker 5 (30:08):
Yeah what was this record when he was? There do
you remember what it was like?
Speaker 6 (30:11):
This it was like two and. Five it was like
was here for one year and they fired. Him but
THEY i guess nobody went on. Twelve the good news
About more for him is that they made up for
pretty fast by getting a guy Named Pete carroll Might,
SO i mean if that would have put them like
in this death spiral right for years and years and.
Years that would have been a. Problem probably the guy
that never won a.
Speaker 5 (30:30):
Game in uh in two thousand and. EIGHT i would
say that'd be.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Tight All, right we get out of, here Rob, Uh
you AND i are back at seven. O'clock after this
