Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Paranormalish. I've got another mini episode for you.
This This took place in Santa Cruz, California. And the
reason I'm putting this episode out is, well, it's it's
just a wild story. But b the second reason I'm
putting it out is I'm honestly curious if anyone else
has had something similar to this happened to them, whether

(00:20):
it took place in Santa Cruz, California, or anywhere else.
And a side note, the girl that's telling this story,
she's gonna be anonymous, but I know her and I
know her husband, and I believe them one thousand percent.
So take a listen and let me know what you think.
I titled this episode this mini episode the Santa Cruz Incident.

(00:42):
Enjoy Jojo on the radio, paranormal normal is this story?
I don't know what the thing. It's just wild. Start
from the very beginning, mis Anonymous, Okay, what happened here?

Speaker 2 (00:59):
I used to live in Santa Cruz, California, in an
area on his beach hill. It's supposed to be very haunted.
There's an old Victorian house that's known because the owner
kept his daughter basically locked up in there. And then
did a murder suicide. It was really awful. I mean,
it was a long time ago. There's just a lot
of weird things Alfred Hitchcock based. I think it was
the Psycho House is up there, and then the hotel
from Psycho or on Beach Hill, like the buildings that

(01:20):
he based, a lot of history, a lot of weird stuff.
So I was walking my mom's dog and walking down
the street and it was dusk, it wasn't night out,
and I was with a friend and we were walking
up the street and we saw a guy just come
running at us from around the corner for about ten
feet and we started freaking out because we thought he
was going to attack us or something. And he was
running just straight dead on at us, and the dog's

(01:42):
freaking out. My friend and I are like, oh my god.
And then when he got about just a few feet
from our faces, he just was gone. And I've never
figured out what it was or where he went or
what that could have been. And it was really scary.
And again the dog, I mean, we were all like,
oh my god.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
It was that. Even the dog is going crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
All three of you guys saw this person which it
looked like looked like a man was.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Just running straight at us.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
And he wasn't in you know, you think like traditional
ghost like Victorian clothes. I mean, he was just a
normal looking person running at us, looking and he looked
angry like on his face, and we thought, oh my god,
we're going to.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Get attacked by some crazy person. And then he was
just gone.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
And there's nowhere he could have like dove into bushes
or anything, and he was just so close to us,
and then he just wasn't there.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Can you recall like his facial features and everything like that.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, I mean I remember it really clearly. You just
look like a you know, short, like look like brown
light brown hair, like white guy wearing jeans and a shirt.
I mean, just look like a normal person. But then
just wasn't there in a second later, it was so scary.
And then my friend and I this is about twelve
years ago, we talked every couple of years and just confirm, like,
do you remember that still?

Speaker 3 (02:44):
I'm not crazy?

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Right?

Speaker 1 (02:45):
And what street is is.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
It was on third Street on Beach Hill.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Third Street on Beach Hill.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Santa Cruz, California, by the.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Boardwalk, the third Street Beach Hill, Santa Cruz, California, by
the boardwalk. If anybody in that area has any sort
of similar ex experience, please reach out to me. Wouldn't
it be wild to, you know, talk to someone else
who's had a similar encounter. I would love to compare notes,
because you know, I bet somebody else you know in
that area has seen this.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
I would love to know what that was, even if
there's a totally rational I mean, I'd actually prefer there's
a rational explanation. So yeah, if anyone knows.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Okay, let's think superrational. You're not crazy.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
You weren't drunk, right, We weren't drinking all. We were
just walking a dog, normal day. We weren't coming from
a party or anything. There's no reason I think we
would have been hallucinating that. The fact that we both
saw it, I mean, it was I can't figure it out.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
I know we saw. I know what we saw, but
I can't explain how we saw it.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
So aside from being a ghost or a spirit, whatever
you want to call it, come and write at you.
Aside from that, if we take that off the table
right now, what else could it be? I mean, this
is part of you know, when you do these investigations.
You check all the other boxes, you know, and this,
what's the other box to check? Other than that's why
we're here on paranormalists, you know what else?

Speaker 2 (03:59):
It wasn't even come dark out like you know, it
wasn't like, oh, that could have been a trick of
the I mean, it was like dusk, like we could
very clearly see him.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
So yeah, and you.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Weren't thinking about looking for ghosts, you're walking your mom's dog.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Yeah. No, I thought I'm gonna get attacked by like
a crazy person. I thought it was a real person.
And then I mean it was just it was just gone.
So we I still don't know what to think of it.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Did you say you brought your mister anonymous husband out
there to see? Uh, like if there was a spot
this person could have fallen into.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Yeah, I said, hey, what what do you think happened?
This is exactly where it happened. And he was just like,
you know, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Yeah, she took me the exact spot and like showed
me the like spatial markt like, okay, I was standing here,
he was there, and then he was right in front
of me, and then he was gone, and there wasn't
like a you know, there wasn't like a manhole cover.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
He fell into like.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
A like bush.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
She could have walked, yeah, you could jump behind. Note.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
It was just it's just a sidewalk, you know, it's
just a street. What the heck.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Also, the dog was like the least reactive dog I've
ever known. That dog was lazy. It was hard to
get him to walk.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
He didn't bark, he kept to himself, and he was
just I've never heard him go crazy like that any
other time.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
It was so weird.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Okay, once again, has anyone seen anything similar to this?
Santa Cruz, California. The streets one more time.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Third Street. It's the Beech Hill area by the boardwalk.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Okay, if you've seen something over there, please let us know.
