Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ninety three point nine Light FM, Melissa Foreman, producer Tim
and you. All right, it is time we're calling it
to a teacher. A teacher get a teacher nominated at
ninety three nine LIGHTFM dot com slash contest with our
friends that visit Florida. We surprise them. They get cash
and they get a chance at this trip to the
Low's Miami Beach Hotel. All right, right now I'm calling
Crystal Ridley. She has no idea why ray Chel all right, Hello,
(00:24):
hello Crystal, Yes, Hello, It's Melissa Foreman from ninety three
point nine light FM. How are you? I'm pretty good?
How how are you? I'm good? Do I have you
confused on why I'm calling? Well, I'm just like, I'm
not sure. I listen to you enough to know. I
know you do some teacher like things. But my favorite
(00:44):
part is when you have your mom call in with
her Eavy reviews Paula's famous. She tells me all the time,
I'm fish. Okay, Well, you're gonna love this, Crystal because
it's so sweet. So we do something called a teacher
Salute every Friday, where we salut to Cogoland area teachers.
Now you're at Yost Elementary. You teach kindergarten. Yes, I've
(01:05):
taught kindergarten for this is like my twentieth year or something.
Oh that's amazing. So I hear you have a really,
really super special daughter named Ruthie. I do, She wrote
us an email. Oh my god, are you serious? Yeah?
I know, I was crying too. She said, you want
(01:27):
to hear a little bit about what she said. She said,
I'm nominating this teacher because she is someone very important
in my life. She's my mom. She adopted me at
two days old from a family in Orlando, Florida. Ye.
Ever since then, she's always been there for me. When
she didn't know how to braid my hair, my African
American hair, she took me to a salon and desperately
(01:49):
ask for help. These are just the small ways she
shows she cares. I'm getting off topics. She wrote it. Anyway,
She's a teacher that cares so much about all of
our students. This year will mark her twentieth years a
kindergarten teacher. She's only forty one. My mom has always
been there for her students times when they've invited her
(02:10):
to their birthday parties. And you can always count on
her being there. So many other teachers and students look
up to her. She's an amazing teacher, okay, and an
amazing mom. So you didn't even know Ruthie wrote this. No,
she didn't say anything to me. How sweet is that?
(02:32):
So that's your baby girl who wrote the most magnificent letter.
So I just want to go hugger right now. Crystal.
You're amazing. You are amazing as a teacher and obviously
a teacher at home to this beautiful little girl who've
given a whole new life to. And I just want
to let you know we're really proud to let you
know that you're this week's teacher salute. Thank you, thank you.
(02:58):
I think you already got the biggest gift, but I
trying to let you know. You're gonna get two hundred
and fifty dollars yay, oh my gosh, and you qualify
to go with us on a trip to the Low's
Miami Beach Hotel this summer. We'll drop for that at
the end of January. Okay, yeah, oh my gosh. Well,
congratulations from your little kids in kindergarten to your beautiful
(03:18):
daughter at home. Crre Still Ridley you're this week's teacher Salute.
