Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, and welcome to the weekly show here on iHeartRadio
on ninety three nine Light FM, one O three five
Kiss FM and Rock ninety five to five. I'm Paulina,
and every week we're here to discuss a variety of
topics that matter to Chicagoland, from health, education, to finances
and so much more. Today on the show, Robin Rock
chats with our friends at nikor Gas, and I'll be

(00:21):
chatting with Samantha Ponce and our friends at Unity Parenting
and Counseling located in Pilsen. And I'll be chatting with
our friends at Lama Winfield all about their fourth annual
Toys for Tots event that they're teaming up with. And
I'll be chatting with the Cancer Support Center from Stephanie
Owens will give us some details about their new upcoming event.
So let's kick off the show. Hi, It's Paulina here

(00:44):
with iHeartMedia Chicago. And today I am chatting with our
friends at the Winfield. So we're talking to Marlon Ortega,
secretary of the Winfield Chapter, and we're talking to Mickey Ingram,
official mto Motor Touring officer for Winfield.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
How are you today? Very good?

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
How about you doing great over here?

Speaker 5 (01:04):
Good good.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
I'm so happy to hear that. Thank you both for
being here. I really appreciate it. If you don't mind,
can you both give me a little bit of a
background about yourself and your current role.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
We can definitely start with you, Mickey.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Great Well. I've been with LAMA or Latin American Motorcycle
Association in the motor Touring Officer mto position for the
past couple of years, and with the chapter itself for
about four years, and been riding for about nine and

(01:38):
loving that. The opportunity to help in the community has
been a key driving point for being a part of
the group, which really I think stands us above and
beyond just being another non for profit because we do
fun things like ride motorcycles and support all sorts of

(02:01):
fun events and things like that. So that's where I stand.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Love that, And what about you, Marlin.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Well, I've been writing for about four years, and I've
been with the Winfield Chapter of the Latin American Motorcycle
Association for about four years. Also, I came in as
a prospect member and then I worked my way up
up to the secretary. I'm also so I sit on
the Windfield Chapters Executive Board as a secretary, but I

(02:32):
also sit on the Midwest Region Executive Board as a
secretary also, so I also oversee the other twenty one
chapters in the Midwest Region as far as like getting
out important information out to their presidents and things like that.
I joined the chapter because not only did I want
to ride with a group of people and belong to something,

(02:53):
but I also want to do something to give back
to the community. And this is our fourth year doing
the Polar Bear Run, and it helps out the you know,
the community helps out kids in need, families in need.
So that's primarily why I chose to join the chapter.
And also because I love to ride my motorcycle. I'll
ride it anywhere except today because we have snow here
and she I.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Know right, I was like, Okay, Christmas came early. No,
I love that.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
So the Polar Bear Run, the fourth annual Toys for
Todds Polar Bear Run, is happening on Saturday, November thirtieth.
So what do you know, we as listeners, those in
the community, what can we do?

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Do we bring a toy? How does this work?

Speaker 3 (03:33):
You want to take down or you want me to uh,
you know what.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
Yeah, Actually, if you know riders, you don't have to
be a biker or a rider per se. You can
either show up at the Wildfire Harley with a fifteen
dollars donation or a new unwrapped toy. We're gonna have
coffee donuts, whether permitting, there's going to be a ride,
so there will be some motorcycles out there on display.
We might have somebody dressed up as a gringe. We

(03:58):
had somebody dressed up as a reindeer last year, so
you know. And so then the ride takes place from
there again, weather permitting, it should probably be about a
thirty minute ride up to the American Legion where we
usually have our meetings. That's sort of like our clubhouse.
And then people can also go there to register, bring
their donations, and then we're going to have food and

(04:19):
drinks and raffles things like that, a fifty to fifty
raffle where half of the proceeds go to the Winter
and the other half goes to a charity of our choosing.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Very nice. I love that.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
And when is this taking place? We did say November
thirtieth on Saturday, so that it is coming up. But
where is it taking place and what time.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
Macke you want to go over those details.

Speaker 6 (04:45):
Sure.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
We have the startup at the Wildfire in Ville Park,
the Harley Davidson Dealer. That's where check in begins for
the riders and anybody who just wants to go there
and drop off and leave. So at ten thirty registration
opens up there and at twelve o'clock that's when we

(05:06):
do kickstands up for the bikers or any vehicles that
want to follow the bikes in the procession all the
way to the Carol Stream Lesion Hall and then at
the Legion Hall. Bikes should start arriving around twelve thirty
or so and guests can arrive there starting at twelve.

(05:27):
If they don't want to ride, they can just go
right to the Legion Hall and check in there between
noon and whenever, and we will have open the location
in the lower level for everybody to come in have
We'll have light menu available as well as the cash

(05:49):
cash beverages available through the Legion Hall providing cash bar
and if you can't make it, we do have our
Zell code on the event on the Facebook that people
can make a donation that way if you're unable to
actually physically get to the event, then all the proceeds

(06:12):
that we earn or collect will go directly to buy
more toys for the Marines to pick up.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
That's amazing, well awesome.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Thank you so much for both of you for being
here today, for sharing this information, and for coming on
the weekly show with us. So again, the Polar Bear
run is Saturday, November thirtieth. You can donate a brand
new unwrapped toy or fifteen dollars. I think that is
so sweet and that is taking place. Like you mentioned,
all the information could be fine found online and you
say also to like on social media.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Yes, our Facebook page has it as a full on event.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Beautiful. Thank you so much both of you for being
here today. I really appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
Yeah, thank you for having us. And you know, you
guys are more than welcome to come join us.

Speaker 6 (06:57):
Bline. I know you're a fan of motorcycle, so.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
Hi I am. I'm still trying to get one.

Speaker 6 (07:01):
I know.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
I hear that I listen, So that's how that's how.

Speaker 6 (07:04):
Much I know.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Oh my god, yeah, you're on my computer every day.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Oh my god, thank you guys, so so much for
listening for supporting beautiful.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 6 (07:12):
Thank you again, Hia.

Speaker 7 (07:13):
It's Robin Rock. And you know, with the weather getting
colder and the holidays around the corner, it is a
great time to look at ways to save money and
energy at home. And joining me today is Mike King
from the nikore Gas Energy Efficiency Program, and Mike is
here to share with us free and cost effective solutions
that can help us lower our natural gas bills this winter.
Welcome Mike. It's good to have you here today.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
I'm so happy to be here as well too.

Speaker 7 (07:36):
Boy, and so timely too, with the getting cold really quickly.
And I was hoping maybe you could tell us about
the nycore Gas Energy Efficiency Program. What's that all about?

Speaker 8 (07:45):
So, the Necrogas Energy OFFICHCY program provides energy saving offerings, products,
and improvements to our Northern Illinois customers. Our team is
here to help our customers save money and energy by
offering natural gas energy saving solutions.

Speaker 6 (07:57):
This is twenty eleven.

Speaker 8 (07:58):
The nicro Gas Energy FICCY program has been committed to
helping our customers understand that a very few easy changes
can provide a lifetime of energy savings for their homes.

Speaker 6 (08:08):
And businesses.

Speaker 8 (08:09):
In fact, more than one point three million of our
customers have participated in our energy efficiency program. They have
collectively saved more than two hundred and forty million terms
from their home and businesses natural gas energy efficiency projects,
and we have distributed more than two hundred and seventy
five million dollars in customers incentives and rebates.

Speaker 7 (08:24):
You know, Mike, that makes me so happy to hear that,
because I have to tell you, when I think about
energy savings and efficiency, I mean I think about long,
expensive projects at my house. So it's really good to
know that it doesn't take a lot of time or effort.
So that's that's really great news.

Speaker 8 (08:37):
No, you're exactly right around, and it doesn't take a
big capital investment too, you know. So you're looking at
this and you're looking you onto the holidays. The last
thing you want to do is spend thousands of dollars
on a project. Yeah, I may save you money, but
it's actually something you don't really need to do right now.
So there's steps along the way. There's passed along the
way for energy efficiency, and one of the easiest ways
to do is.

Speaker 6 (08:57):
Get a free energy saving kit and get a reassessments.

Speaker 7 (09:00):
Those are free things.

Speaker 6 (09:01):
Yes, yes, yeah.

Speaker 8 (09:03):
The main thing you want to do right now is
be able to have money for food and medicine, shelter housing.
The things we can actually help you with is get
free kits which will provide your free energy saving shower
heads and air raiders and weather stripping, a door strip,
a pipe wrap, a shower timer, some of the things
that actually will start saving you energy and money right
off the bat, and this really minimal effort on the

(09:25):
customer's part.

Speaker 6 (09:26):
There's free assessments of a self assessment. One of the
most powerful tool that we have in our tool.

Speaker 8 (09:30):
Bag is the homeowner. They know the house the best.
They know what room is cold, when room is hot.
Those are rooms that need air scene insulation. We have
a self assessment tool and you do the self assessment
and they will provide you recommendations and the incentives associated
with those recommendations. So you go into a house that's
cold during the winter time, that means that it needs
air scene and insulation. So we'll provide you with contractors

(09:53):
within your area will provide you the incentives that are
associated with the work that's done, so you can save
up for those capital and in that project throughout the
year to have that done next year. Once it's done,
your house will be more comfortable, more affordable. You'll be
starting saving energy and money right away.

Speaker 7 (10:09):
So, Mike, I just want to ask you what is
the most rewarding part about working with the Energy Efficiency Program?
I think, I think I can take a few guesses,
but you tell.

Speaker 8 (10:18):
Me, Well, one is working with a team that I'm
fortunate to be working with, and then the other is
to help customers actually save energy and money. One of
the stories that comes to mind was working with an
individual and a family in Oak Park and an Oldatorian
home and they were saying that they couldn't really use

(10:40):
their family room without putting on layers of clothes like
sweatpants and sweaters and blankets to watch TV. And I
was like, well, you know, this is where they're living
the most, or actually weren't living the most. They were
finding other rooms to be in and so they went
through our airsne installation program and they found that the
house is more comfortable. They're watching TV together as a family,

(11:00):
they're bringing the teenagers, we're actually coming down the T
shirts on instead of sweatshirts, and people weren't any blankets.
They were just comfortably sitting there watching TV. And that's
where it came to everyone's you know eyes. It's like
this comfortability is one of the driving forces to do this.
The added benefit is the affordability on this because they're
saving energy and saving money. But it really was one

(11:22):
of those Aha moments for a family to get together
and then actually enjoy their home by energy efficiency. And
then the benefit of that is obviously the affordability and
the energy savings associated with that.

Speaker 7 (11:32):
So, you know, I want to ask you about focusing
on energy efficiency and it sounds like it should be
a focus, and we get so caught up in the
everyday things and sometimes we forget but why should people
really focus on energy efficiency and how does this commitment
help our communities overall? With what you guys are doing.

Speaker 8 (11:50):
There's a couple of reasons why we should focus on
energy efficiency. One, we're dealing with inflation. Cost of goods
are going up. The other day, I was at breakfast
and an am was like thirteen dollars. So you look
at like the everything prices that we're paying for food,
for gas, for housing.

Speaker 6 (12:05):
One of the things we can control is.

Speaker 8 (12:06):
How much energy we're using, and the ability to kind
of make the home more comfortable and affordable for our
homeowners for renters as well too. That's one of the
key focuses is budget. The other one is it's good
for our environment. We reduce greenhouse gases by properly air
stating a home and properly looking the mechanicals that we
use and go to hire efficient furnaces and water heaters,

(12:28):
it reduces the greenhouse gases. So it's good for your pocketbook, comfortability,
and it's also good for the environment.

Speaker 7 (12:35):
I love that there's something that we can all do,
something that there's really a takeaway for all of us
with what you just said.

Speaker 6 (12:40):
There really is.

Speaker 8 (12:41):
There's the free products and services that we provide, and
then going down that journey of energy efficiency.

Speaker 6 (12:46):
The next step we have one that actually is focused
on restaurants too. Everyone pays into.

Speaker 8 (12:50):
This fund for energy efficiency and we have something for
everyone to participate within.

Speaker 7 (12:55):
So everything that you talked about sounds fantastic. So tell
me where where do we start? What is step one
to get in on you know, the the energy efficiency
and the savings kits and the rebates and the home assessments.
Where do we start with all of that.

Speaker 8 (13:09):
I would addrect everyone to our website, which is ncrogas
dot com backslash Ways to Save That will provide you
all the information you want on your residential information, provide
you the self assessment tool, and it'll also.

Speaker 6 (13:21):
Provide you information on your business as well. The best
way to start is going to our website and.

Speaker 7 (13:25):
One more time, can you give us that to their website?

Speaker 8 (13:27):
Mike, It's nightcoorgas dot com backslash ways to Save Mike.

Speaker 7 (13:33):
King from the Nightcore Gas energy efficiency Program. We want
to thank you for being here today. Great information. Thanks
so much for your time.

Speaker 6 (13:40):
Thank you, Rovin, I really appreciate it. And happy holidays.

Speaker 7 (13:42):
Hi.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
It's Paulina here with iHeartMedia Chicago and today I am
chatting with our friends at Unity Parenting and Counseling located
in at Pilsen.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
How are you today, ladies?

Speaker 9 (13:54):
We are wonderful. How are you doing so well?

Speaker 5 (13:57):
Thank you for joining me today.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
I'm excited to have you on the show to chet
all about you, know you and what you do as
well in your role and kind of how the community
can always support you guys, no matter what time of
the year it is and then of course talking about
our cookies at Santa event that I'm excited to team
up with you guys on I'm super excited about that.
First things first, do you mind giving us a little
bit of an introduction on yourselves and your current role.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Hi, I am Marve Jackson.

Speaker 10 (14:22):
I am the CEO here at Guity parent and Counseling,
and my job is to make sure that all our
programs and services are runners smoothly, that our staff is
you know, taking care of everything we need to do
in terms of service and our youth and so just
the day to day operations of organizations I am responsible for.

Speaker 9 (14:40):
My name is Samantha Ponce. I am a bilingual foster
care supervisor here at Parenting Unity Parenting and Counseling, and
I also oversee day to day operations as well with
our case managers, more of a one on one collaboration
with the case workers that are on the front line
handle the cases with our youths, making sure their well

(15:04):
being is appropriate, they're safe, and they're happy in their placements.

Speaker 5 (15:12):
Awesome, Thank you so much, ladies, I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Would you mind giving me a little of a background
about Unity Parenting and counseling for those who may not
be as familiar.

Speaker 10 (15:21):
Absolutely Unity Parented Counseling is a non proper organization located
on the South Side of Chicago service and homeless youth.
Since its inception nineteen ninety three, Unity has been all
about protecting and supporting the most vulnerable groups within our community,
those who are homeless or in unstable housing, abuse, neglected
children and foster care and their parents, and those including

(15:45):
those with physical and mental challenges. We have two divisions
in which we do that. In our Child However division,
we service you from zero to eighteen years old, and
our goal literally in that particular program is to reunify family.
Reunification is not possible, then we look for a permanenty
house situation for that particular child. And then we have

(16:08):
a housing division where we have over one hundred and
twenty five twenty five apartments where we do transitional living
for our clients and we service individuals from eighteen to
twenty four And in that housing division we do operate
a twenty four hour homeless shelter for youth. And I
go there is really permanent housing for youth, and we

(16:30):
do what we do. We do a program and services,
and we teach them really how to be live and
clean their apartments and budget and things like that so
they can be successful and that if they do get
a permanent housing, that they will be able to be
a stable have a stable housing for the.

Speaker 6 (16:44):
Rest of their lives.

Speaker 10 (16:46):
So that's what, in a kind of a nutshell, what
we do at Unity Parent and Council.

Speaker 5 (16:50):
Oh absolutely, And what about some of the common challenges
or issues that you see in families right in you
guys face, how do you address them?

Speaker 9 (17:01):
Our biggest challenges that we face is obviously services, right
we see all over the city just a lack of services,
a lack of providers that we can refer our parents to.
So obviously our first option is to reunify our kiddos
with their parents. We really want them to go back

(17:22):
home as long as the situation is safe and appropriate.
So at that point, we do hope to find service
providers and we do have some, but that's always a
challenge because we have Cook County is so big, and
we have such a broad range of just the location
of our parents geographically, you know, there's so many different

(17:43):
places that these parents live. So those are one of
our biggest challenges. It's just service providers. So we really
hope that that's something that we can also spread awareness
to is just service providers, mental health, substance abuse, all
of that. That's you know, one thing that we advocate
most for our parents so that hopefully we can reunify

(18:04):
these families and if not, we really want if it's
not you know, appropriate for the kiddos to go home,
then we need foster parents, I mean foster parents. We
always have a need for Spanish speaking foster parents. Culturally,
you know, we have such a wide range of children
and we just need as many foster parents as we
possibly can. So if there's anybody you know that's looking

(18:24):
to become a foster parent, we welcome them. So we also
do need those and we would of course assist with
becoming a foster parent.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
That's incredible.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
Yes, where can people go for more information on that
as well, you know, to sign up to become a
foster parent, or if they want to get more information
about just you know, Unity parenting counseling in general, where
can we go do that?

Speaker 9 (18:47):
They can go online to our website Unity Parenting, Unity
Parenting and Counseling dot org. They can go online, they
can reach out to myself. We can absolutely for the
information for our licensing team and they will be more
than happy so we can provide that information. My email
is s P O n CE at Unity Parenting dot org.

Speaker 5 (19:13):
Amazing perfect, Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
And now I would definitely want to dive into really
quickly an event that we have coming up that is
going to help benefit I believe the Christmas list that
you have going on, Can you can tell us a
little bit about that program that you have happening.

Speaker 9 (19:29):
Yes, So we're kittles. We, like Marvey said, we service
kittles from zero to eighteen and then we do have
some that they don't technically age out until the age
of twenty one because we do want to ensure that
they are ready to go on their own, teach them
daily living skills and things like that. But the Christmas list,
the wish list that we have we have compiled just

(19:50):
different items that our kiddos have asked for, barbies, baby
live dolls, lego, things that they love and just we're
hoping that we can provide at least one gift for
them because we are their family.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
You know, we are.

Speaker 9 (20:06):
Probably the most consistent people in their lives since they
are in care. We do have some kiddos that go
from placement to placement, so we just really want to
make sure that they have a merry Christmas. And if
we can make that difference with that one gift, then
that's that's you know, it makes it worth it.

Speaker 10 (20:25):
We also like to provide and we did last year
and we hopefully we can do it again. Every child
that came in last year got they walked away with
a coke. One of our providers also was Bombus socks,
so they supplied us with a bunch of socks and
the kids all got mittens and hats last year, plus
a gift and then any of the fun things we do,
like you know, face painting and games and anything that

(20:47):
we can give them. They get food. So we just
really want to have like a great winter nder line
event for them. You know, a lot of our kids,
this would be the only thing they may get or
this may be the only event they get to go to,
so especially those of them they're not in school, so
we really reach out to the community to make the
day of one of our chids.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Oh my goodness, absolutely, and I love everything, you know,
you're doing there, and I definitely really you know, I'm
very inspired by the works that Unity Parenting and Counseling
located in Pills And for those who are just tuning
in so really quickly, we are having our events.

Speaker 5 (21:20):
So Mommy Collected, which is my.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Mom community that I've created, is having our first annual
Cookies at Santa Events that is taking place on December
first at the European Shelle on the southwest side of Chicago.
For just a small donation of ten dollars, you could
take a photo with Santa, and of course some have
free cookies and then you know, thanks to our sponsors
Danny's Pizza as well as a cup of Joe for
the hot chocolate, and they'll have coffee and you can

(21:45):
come and shop local vendors kind of get in the
Christmas spirit.

Speaker 11 (21:48):
You know.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
December first is literally the first day of December, right
right after Thanksgiving, but we're wasting no time.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
Getting ready for the holidays.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
So if you want to come out, that's from ten
am to three pm, we're going to be all the
proceeds will be benefiting the Unity Parenting and Counseling Christmas
List that you just mentioned, So I'm super excited about that,
but really quickly again, for those parents and those families
who can't make it out on December first, but they
would love to donate, where can they go?

Speaker 6 (22:14):
Do that?

Speaker 9 (22:16):
Say that again, Pauline, I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
It's okay for those parents who can't make it out
on December first, but they would love to donate or
would love to leave a donation for you guys, for
either this program or another one.

Speaker 5 (22:27):
Where can they go do that?

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Oh?

Speaker 9 (22:29):
They can go to our website, I'm so sorry. They
can go to our website Unity dot org. We do
have a link where you can donate at the bottom,
and then we also have a wish list under Unity
Parenting and Counseling that they can also look up, as
well as a Walmart wish list. So we are open

(22:50):
to taking any types of gifts that you are willing
to send. Frizzies, Youth.

Speaker 10 (22:56):
Amazing for volunteers to help. You know, every time, not
everyone can afford to give something, but they can give
their time, and so we also look for people to
help with the actual party and help wrap gifts. You know,
anything about that that can help us get pool this
party together.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
I love it.

Speaker 5 (23:16):
I agree. Awesome, well, thank you both for being here
with us today. We're super excited.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
So for those who are you know, just tuning in,
or for those who are wanting to make a difference,
the event is happening December first at European Chalet Cookies
with Santa, and all proceeds will benefit Unity Parenting and
Counseling for all the photos. Awesome, well, thank you both
so much. I appreciate your time.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Thank you so much with us. Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
Hi.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
It's Paulina here with iHeartMedia Chicago, and today I am
chatting with a friend of the show, Stephanie Owen, special
event coordinator of Cancer Support Center.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
How are you today? I'm good.

Speaker 11 (23:54):
How are you?

Speaker 1 (23:55):
I'm so good. Thank you for being here with us today.
We did have you on the show. I believe it
was during the Halloween season, so that was really cool
to be able to chat with you and obviously learn
more about what you do and about the Cancer Support Center.
I would love for you to tell our new listeners
a little bit though about yourself and your role, and
then of course a little bit more about the Cancer

(24:17):
Support Center.

Speaker 11 (24:18):
Absolutely so. My name is Stephanie and I am the
special coordinator at the Cancer Support Center and we've been
here for over thirty years and our mission is to
provide strength, guidance, and support to literally anyone impacted by cancer,
no matter who they are or what stage of their

(24:39):
cancer journey.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
They are in.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Amazing, amazing And where are you guys located exactly?

Speaker 11 (24:49):
So we have two physical locations based out of Homewood
and Mokina, but we also all offer virtual programming and
virtual therapy if they're located in the state of Illinois.

Speaker 5 (25:03):
Awesome.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
So, Stephanie, can you please give us a little bit
of a background about the upcoming event that you have.
I know it's the Cancer Support Center Holiday Spirits event.

Speaker 5 (25:12):
When is that happening?

Speaker 2 (25:13):
What is it and who does that benefit?

Speaker 11 (25:16):
Absolutely? So, this is one of our signature annual events
that we throw at the end of the year and
it's just a festive time for the community to come
together and it's benefiting the Cancer Support Center so we
can continue offering our services at no cost. Gets our
forty five dollars and the night includes cocktails and a

(25:40):
appetizer buffet along with some raffles, and then we have
local vendors. Actually, my favorite vendor is this eight year
old girl who is selling her custom bracelets.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Oh yeah, she's super.

Speaker 11 (25:55):
Her name is Gigi, So she's selling her custom bracelets
with her grandmother who is a cancer survivor.

Speaker 9 (26:02):
And then we'll also have a DJ and.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
A photo booth.

Speaker 11 (26:04):
So it should just be a fun festive night for
everybody with some holiday shopping.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Yes, I love that so really quick on, Stephanie, where
can we get tickets for the event?

Speaker 2 (26:15):
When is the event taking place?

Speaker 1 (26:17):
And then my last question is for those who can't
make it, how can they continue to support?

Speaker 11 (26:22):
Absolutely so. All information is available on our website at
Cancer Support Center dot org. And Holiday Spirits is December
seventh at six pm at Wiley's Rill and Flosmore, Illinois.
And like I said, all the information is available on
our website, the Cancer Supportcenter dot org. And to get

(26:42):
involved throughout the year, you can visit our website. There's
a donate tab right at the top or a get involved.
We're constantly looking for volunteers and people who would like
to support our mission.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Yes, absolutely so, one more time, then where can we
head over a good website and a good handle for
social media?

Speaker 5 (27:02):
Where can we go do that?

Speaker 2 (27:03):
Just one more time.

Speaker 11 (27:04):
Astually, our website is Cancer Supportcenter dot org and we
are on Facebook and Instagram and TikTok at the Cancer
Support Center.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
