Speaker 1 (00:00):
Graham by Sarah Lee. It is our very first day.
It's not gonna get old. I'm going to say that
relentlessly in my real life. But Big Day. Not only
is it our first day, but it's also an iHeart
Country World premiere.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Mister Brett Young Drink with you and he is one
of your really close friends and is funny. He has
no idea that you're in North Carolina.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
He does it, and I'm really nervous about it because
I'm painting this picture that we're so close. I'm probably
going to answer the phone and he's just going to
talk to me like I'm a stranger. Okay, Okay, He's.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Going right out. Are you good?

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Telling you? No?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
No, no, I'm ready.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
I'm right.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
What's going on, mister Brett?

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Y'all a lot to talk about this morning, man, Big Day,
Drink with you out.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
It feels like this song has been coming. It feels
like this song has been coming forever. It's a special day.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
You're in the middle of your back to Basics tour, right.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Yeah, we're about five or six weeks in and we've
been playing a song since the end of last year
and it's been getting a great response.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Planned at the airport.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Who is that one friend you can count on to
pick you up to be your personal Ubert?

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Where am I flying to Los Angeles? Personal Ubert? Where
am I flying to Los Angeles?

Speaker 3 (01:21):
You know that's Graham?

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Do you know that you're on the phone.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Do you know that I'm on the phone with Graham
right now? And you guys know that you didn't tell
me that he was going to be on this call.
So there it is right there. There, it is right there.
It's not just the call. So there it is right
there there, it is right there. It's not just the voice.
Is that laugh right there? No?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
I'm like, no, he's gonna know. I love this case.
He's like my brother didn't know.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
I know. But see the thing is like I don't
like surprises. So the second I realize this, like really
annoying thing boils up inside of me where we're like
one hundred Brett Youngs, like climb into my head and go,
don't let him know you're affected by this.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
You're not affected by this.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
We chage like one hundred basketball memes a day, and
like I've been trying not to tell him this whole time.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Yeah, well, I hope you're having fun with this, sir,
because we're gonna have.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Words later, all right, duly noted, Well, now that you
know it's me, it's the brand new morning show. It's
also an iHeart Country World premiere. Mister Brett Young, drink
with you. We got them on the line. What's up, buddy.
We are so proud of you. Anything that you want
to share about this, we would love to hear about it.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
I mean, you know this better than anybody because with
my friends, I'm kind of overly generous with sharing, probably
too early and too often. But I'm just really proud
of this one. This is the first time that I
didn't just write for a year about exactly what I
was going through in my life. I kind of stretched
myself and I joked a little bit about this with
the last record. But I can't just write about my

(02:48):
life right now or you'd be getting a bunch of
nursery rhymes, you know what I mean. We're in the
baby stage. Yeah, And so I had to stretch myself
a little bit and go, Okay, how do you write
the breakup song when that's not fresh? And try to
find I'm fortunately writers that have gone through a fresh
breakup to get in the room with and write a
little bit from their perspective.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
I would feel like Graham is a great motivation for
a breakup song.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
He goes to a lot of them. Oh man, don't
get him started.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Unfortunately for me, Brett knows where all the bodies are buried,
knows all the skeletons. Like Brett has helped me through
some very challenging and difficult times in my life. So
I want to give him his flowers. There and another
song that was on the record you can hear it now.
To me, it really stood out with say less thank you.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
It is on the record, and I mean, I think
it's funny at my age to kind of play with
what the kids are saying these days.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
We got into a room one day and I was like, man,
if I hear somebody say stay less one more time,
I'm going to pull my hair out. And the other
writers in the room are like, well, that's probably a
good reason to write that title today. No, Graham, you
know me like this and my wife would be if
not me as a person, I'm like, I'm kind of
a dork.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Well we'll just agree to disagree. That's what we part ways,
all right. Oh he part of ways Ways all right?
Oh he part of ways.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
He did part ways, he did part ways met. I
love that guy like and and again it's not lip service.
That song say Less is incredible.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Well, I think you may need to call your friend back.
