(00:00):
Josh Turner, How you doing, sir, I'm good. Are you another
day in paradise? My friend? How's everything in your world? Oh?
Staying busy? Complain? How's afamily there keeping the busy? Four boys?
Yeah? More is it? Youknow, that's the type of the
year where there's trick or treating comingup and all these fall festivals and pumpkin
carbons and stuff. Are they toocool for any of that stuff nowadays?
(00:22):
Or can you still get some somefamily fun at them? Oh? They
still love dressing up. I gotone that's already playing that he's going to
be sasquatched this year. That's fantastic. You know, we have the big
Foot Festival over Marion. Maybe ifyou dressed up and come on over,
you know, yeah, we'll haveto have to break out from slim jams.
(00:43):
They even do sasquatch calling. Ohyeah, it's like a big deal.
He's a believer, believe it ornot. Hey, I believe too.
I'm right there with you. Yeah, let me let me hear you
buy me put you on a spot. Let me hear your best sasquatch call.
I don't have one. I'm we'refamiliar with big Foot, the monster
trucks. So what's that call? That's pretty back at you? Glad I
(01:11):
can. First of all, it'sit's got to be like, whoa,
I'm really put out the greatest Hitscompilation on me? Yet, what's how
do you wrap your mind around it? It's a mile song for sure,
you know, it's it's been I'mcoming, you know, I'm I'm fortunate
enough, fortunate enough to say that. You know, I've been with the
same label for twenty plus years andthey've they've been you know, supporting me
(01:34):
and believing in me all these years, and they believed in me enough to
put out a Greatest Hits project. So obviously in this day and age,
you know, people can you know, kind of go and and put put
that same sequence of songs together ina playlist and any kind of streaming platform.
But you know, this, thisproject was was for my my real
true fans that have been supporting meall these years and really kind of stood
(01:57):
by me and and cheering me on, and so it's it's kind of a
thank you to them to say, hey, you know, we did it.
We got to the Greatest Hits recordlevel. And you know, a
lot of artis don't get to thatplace. So I'm very Yeah, that's
a great accomplishment. So there's alsoa really fun Greatest Hits filter on TikTok,
Instagram and Facebook that see a bunchof people doing so Eddie and I
(02:17):
did it this morning and I gotFirecracker and he got what'd you get your
man? Yeah? So what doyou think that says about us? Found
pretty appropriate, I think. Sohave you done this challenge? Do you
know what your Josh Turner song is? Because you know that that filter is
extremely accurate, you know, onpeople's personalities, on me, you know.
(02:38):
Oh, I'm sure, very veryvery scientific. So have you done
it? What's yours? Uh?Well, I hate to play it,
but it has been different every time. Well that's accurate because you're all of
them. Yeah, my guests wouldhave been a long black train, honestly.
But I'm a multi faceted kind ofplace. There you go, believes
(02:59):
in a squatch big Foot? Yeah, I mean it's the long black Train.
At twentieth anniversary four, you werecoming to Harris Cherokee on Friday October
six. We are looking so forwardto this show. Yeah, we really
are. Man. Yeah, it'sbeen a little while since I've been there,
so I'm looking forward to coming back. The crowds always fantastic there,
and and just like to say we'regonna have a good time. And and
(03:21):
I like celebrating the twentieth anniversary ofLong Black Training all year long. One
of the things that we did tocommemorate that was we released that album on
vinyl for the first time they everback in May. So the fans have
been really uh, you know, consuming that now. You've been at this
for a while, so I wouldsay you're a pro. If if somebody
is listening right now that really wantsto follow the dreams and their passion get
(03:44):
into this business. Any advice thatyou would lay on them, anything that
you've learned, there's a lot.But you know, the first thing,
you know, Darryl Singletary gave me, you know, some great advice back
when I was still living in SouthCarolina, and he said, you got
to you gotta move to where themusic is. And as as simple and
as obvious as that sound, Inever really considered moving to Nashville until he
(04:10):
told me that, And so Idid that. And then beyond that,
you really have to kind of betrue to yourself don't compromise who you are
and just be willing to listen toadvice. But also you have to be
your own person and stand on yourown two feet and so, and you
have to find what sets you apartfrom all the other artists out there because
(04:30):
there's a lot of competition, there'sa lot of entertainment out there. So
you have to find what really setsyou apart and draws people in. You
know, what makes you uniquets bestadvice you sooth say? Are you yeah,
Josh Charter, thank you for yourtime. Sorry, we truly appreciate
congrats on the greatest hits out man. That's so cool. Oh yeah,
thank you very much. Yeah,I'm pretty excited about it and there's there's
(04:53):
