Speaker 1 (00:00):
Kirby Ferris joins us now here in the studio are
going to be talking about what's going on here with
this this gun situation here, and yeah, I don't see this.
But first we were talking during the break there and
my last guest I had on was the chairman of
the Texas Democratic Party, and I just kept hearing some
of the same stuff that the Democrats are focusing on

(00:23):
and missing the mark. I do think that, you know,
he made a good point in that, you know, this
wave of socialism and social issues that overwhelmingly consumed the
Democrats and their push you know, was hurting them.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Genty.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
I was talking to a Democratic strategist spent a few
weeks ago, and he said something, and this is an
older guy, he's been around. Yeah, he said something that
struck me. He said, when the Democratic Party gets back
to representing people with their names on their shirts instead
of being so worried about pronouns.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Yeah, the guys at work and they have their names
on their work clothes and stuff.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
You know, trend more moderate and it's worrisome.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Yeah, it is worrisome.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Well, yeah, and your thoughts on you know, what's going
on with the Gorsage situation, and yesterday in the argument
with this lawyer that's standing up for books and elementary
schools that talk about bondage, I mean, where's the common sentence?

Speaker 3 (01:20):
As you know, I've got a seven year old granddaughter, right,
and I would be losing my mind if.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
They came home with that. And look, look, Papa read
this to me. What my daughter would be like? I mean, it's.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Crazy, crazy, it is, all right, I don't know, you know,
thank you by the way for bringing in the biscuits
and the gravy here. But also during the break I
mentioned I don't know the combination of the gravy and
the coffee here. I'm not sure I'm going to make
nine o'clock. Just giving your heads up here. But by
the way, did you see Shaquille O'Neal the other day.
He's on television with the you know, Charles Barkley and

(01:57):
the whole crew NBA on TNT.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Yeah, right in the middle of live television. He's got
to go. I other thing about Kawhi is a right
big folk. Yeah, I know, go ahead, keep talking, Joe. Yeah,
we on TV. I know what we're ahead. Yeah, that's that, Olive.
All you've been drinking.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
No, you take some matches with you.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Hey listen, he couldn't hold it after forty you can't
hold it? What's it first? You can't I've been drinking.
I did well to cleaning gun. It's clean. Hey listen,
I just hope we got enough matches around. He turned
his mic off. That's all drinking that water? You drinking
that water that much?

Speaker 1 (02:41):
What should mean?

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Finish your points that we can go to break? Wait
on your phone. I'm sitting there like, the hell up up,
I'm sorry about that, America.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
He's begging to go to commercial breaks so we can
get up, and they don't go.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
He's like, well, then if you're not going to break,
I gotta go. It's great. Had is classic right there?
Quick was the matches? Yeah, that was awesome. Look we've
all had, you know, our turn with that little feeling.
That's not fun.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
All right, Let's talk about what's going on here with
the States ban on assault weapons. Likely constitutional are saying
now that you can ban these things. The federal appeals
court ruled this. I gotta think this is going higher off.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Oh, let's go.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
What is your definition of an assault weapon? I mean,
aren't all weapons assault Jettie.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
This, I mean particular gun they're talking about. The old
AR fifteen is in my gun safe right now.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
AR fifteen's have smaller bullets in my two seventy.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Yeah, oh yeah, they're smaller than two seventy do they?

Speaker 1 (03:42):
What makes three? Because it looks like a machine guns?
Or is that the lookers? The number of you know rounds.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Well, I mean you can buy you can buy a
large capacity cartridges for those guns, which you know, I
could have a problem with some of those, but I
really do believe it's the way the rifle looks.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
It's crazy. Yeah, it's all based on looks.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
So how does the court look at this and going Okay, yeah,
we're gonna come down and we're going to start banning
these things.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
I mean yeah, I.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Mean when this hits the Supreme Court, there's no precedent
for this, and I think the Supreme Court is going
to make short order of this.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Well, they get it this year, you think, And I
don't know if they'll get it this year.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Yeah, I think it could be next year because the
Lord knows the Supreme Court is busy right now.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
I just I don't know the logic where this came
from you know, how it got this far.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Apparently this was in Massachusetts. It was it was a.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Liberal state, obviously, and they said that's it, We're going
to ban them. I mean, I mean there are hunters
in Massachusetts too.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
I mean, I don't know. And you know, it's the
best hog hunting gun that you can have. It's a
great hog hunting weapon. The ar is and hogs are
a real problem in this state. Yeah, they're a real problem.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Well, we'll have to follow this one and see what
absolutely alright, Buddy, good to see it. Thanks you man.
