Speaker 1 (00:00):
Obviously, we are an ally of Israel and we have
Israel's back. We've known that, and certainly this is Benjamin
nat Yaho's battle right now. But is the United States involved?
Here's our Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth talking with Jesse
Waters yesterday about where we stand in all of this.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
The President's, as he said today, his position has not changed.
What you're watching in real time is peace through strength
and America first, our job is to be strong. We
are postured defensively in the region to be strong in
pursuit of a peace deal, and we certainly hope that's
what happens here in America. First means we're going to

(00:39):
defend American personnel and American interest. My job as the
Secretary of Defense is to ensure that our people are
safe and that we're strong so that we can set
the conditions for a deal. And President Trump's made a
clear it's on the table. The question is whether Iron
will take it.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Man joining us now is our correspondent Royal and Neil
been following what's happening as well. Some more of the
details and all of the roy welcome in so yesterday
the President said, you know what Iran turned their nose
up at the deal that was offered and said they
should have taken the deal, and then he left the
G seven early and says, I'm not in mood to
negotiated anymore with this soul. With the evacuation of all

(01:14):
three hundred thousand people and probably more in Tehran, this
kind of sounds like it's ramping up to me.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Well, right, President Trump posting on truth social that people
should evacuate Tehran immediately, which of course caused a panic,
and they're still major traffic jams. I think eleven million
people live in Tehran, so that's obviously a concern. But
the President returned to the White House about an hour
or ago or so and has said that, look, if Uran

(01:42):
wants to talk piece, they know where to find me, because,
as you said, he has suggested that Iran should have
taken the deal that was on the table before to
avoid what is happening now.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
And we've seen some of the missiles that Iran has
launched into Israel getting through the dome. Not a lot
of them, but there's certainly been death and destruction from
all of that. Anything happening this morning over there or overnight.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Yeah, it wasn't as bad. I don't want to give
the impression that things are great, but I think there
was a lot of concern that things were going to
be worse than they were last night. So it was bad,
but not as bad as some had feared. So there
was some back and forth. I think Israel described it
as the least effective attack that Iran has launched so far.
We did hear from the Iranian ambassador to the UN

(02:29):
over the weekend when talking about the defensive systems. He
says about ten or fifteen percent of whatever Iran launches
gets through, which again is significant.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Unbelievable the amount of destruction that's been going on. But
Benjamin and Yahoo continues to not stand down at all,
no room for compromise at this point. I believe we're
close to the finish line, that this is probably going
to be the worst situation I ran seen in years,
and ever since I guess the Islamic Revolution back in
the late sev seventies. We've been in somewhat of a

(03:02):
quiet shadow war, if you will, with Iran, and the
whole goal is new regime or no nuclear developments anymore.
That's it. So do you feel that this is the
final straw.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
You know, that's the drive, that's the push. We even
heard from President or Prime Minister net and Yahoo trying
to speak directly to the Iranian people saying, you know, look,
we're trying to liberate you from a government that you
hate and don't like. So he's urging Iranian people to
stand up to their government leaders and try to go
for change here. You know, the sanctions that have been

(03:37):
on Iran for years now have crippled the economy outside
of some oil sales to places like Russia and China.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Yeah, they really don't have the strong military that they
seem to think they have, the wherewithal in their experience,
and their training is weak at best to go long
term with this. So yeah, there's no way they win
this whole thing. But in the meanwhile, on the way out,
they're going to go kick and screaming and fighting and launching.
There's no doubt about that, all right, switching gears. Quick

(04:04):
update for Minnesota. Is that guy that shot the legislatures there,
Vance Bolter, fifty seven year old. He was in court yesterday.
What took place?

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Yeah, now facing state and federal charges, federal charges I
think six in all including stalking and murdering those two people.
It'll be interesting to see if the US government wants
to pursue the debt penalty because the state in Minnesota
does not allow for the death penalty, so it could
be an interesting legal development there moving forward. Another question

(04:35):
is will this suspect's wife be charged. You know, when
they found her, she had passports, cash, and a couple
of guns in the car with the kids. What did
she know in all this and when did she know it? It
is still little bit of a question.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Yeah, just crazy. This guy's out of his mind, no doubt.
All right, roy thank you for the update. I appreciate you.
