Speaker 1 (00:00):
My name is John Mounts, filling in for JT. And
we always welcome your calls about anything we're talking about.
Two O five four three nine nine three seven to two.
Frank up in Trustfille gave us a call. Frank, good morning,
what's on your mind?

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Well, I want to just say this, we know for
certain that the weapons of mass destruction that w said
was in a RAQ certainly didn't come through. And I
can see the point of keeping the military, their point
of keeping the military complex business going. I for myself,
I trust Donald Trump.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Well, and I think I think we all are hoping
that our leader. If there's one thing Donald Trump is
good at, is taking charge. And I would not want
to be in this situation if we had Joe Biden
in the White House. I'm a lot I feel a
lot better about about it now that we have Donald Trump.
And let's uh, thanks you for the call. Frank. Let's
make a move over here to Ryan Schmels on the
latest on the Big Beautiful Bill. Speaking of Donald Trump,

(00:55):
what's this chance of making it through the Senate?

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Ryan, Hey, Well, I think it's still up in the
you know, they released the bill techs this week on
the Senate version, there were some changes, and some of
those changes are not really hitting well with certain people
depending on who you talk to. You know, number one,
you've got an increase in the debt ceiling from four
trillion to five trillion dollars. You've got changes to the
provider tax, which some are warning is going to be

(01:20):
not good for rural hospitals, and you also have a
couple other changes in here, and overall, just doesn't seem
like the spending cuts go far enough either to satisfy
certain conservatives.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
So it seems like nobody's happy, is what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Well, I think I'll put it this way. Enough people
are upset that this could think could get tanked. But
I think there are enough people who are happy that
they're close. But it's the bends that they can move
those people off of that that ledge. You know, having
forty five Republicans, that's the majority, but that's not enough
to get something passed on the majority side. For the Republicans,
they need they need fifty, and they're not there yet.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Because of course they have zero percent of the No
Democrat will vote for this thing, so it's going to
be completely on the Republicans even with JD Vance's being
able to cast the tie breaking vote. If it doesn't pass,
what happens next. Does it go back to the Congress
for war rewrite or who revises it and tries again.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Well, there's a number of options they could take. They
could they could the Senate Financial Services Committee could rewrite
the legislation. They could just accept the House version and say,
you know what you were able to pass years we
can't pass ours, will take yours. Or they can just
have a negotiation session. I mean, there's a number of
ways they can go about this if they don't have
the votes.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Obviously, Donald Trump wants it passed. But is he actively
involved or is he kind of standing back and saying,
you guys, figure it out and let me know when
you've when you've come to a decision here.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Not overly involved just yet. Obviously he's been dealing with
a lot of things since his build Tech drop, dealing
with Iran and Israel. But Jadie Vance was here yesterday
and he, from what our sources have told us, told
Republicans in a closed door meeting that the press and
it wants this past on the Senate side. By fourth
of July, have the final copy on his desk by

(03:05):
the start of August, So it looks like there's still
there's still ways to go in that. And yes, Donald
Trump is probably expected to get involved at some point,
just that right now, I don't think there's too much
involvement hands on and Ryan.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
To be perfectly honest, I'm not too concerned about it
taking I think the process is supposed to be deliberate,
it's supposed to be slow, it's supposed to be messy,
the political process and getting these things done. I want
it to be right. There's some things in this bill
I don't like, but at the end of the day,
the government does have to keep working and we need
to keep these tax cuts because if we don't keep
the tax cuts, I think we're going to see the

(03:40):
economy begin to really sputter. And it's not something that
anybody wants on the left or the right.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Yeah, And I think that's the biggest argument that Republicans
are making, is that if you say don't get this
done soon, you know they are at the end of
the year facing an extension or an ending of the
Trump tax cuts. So they are very much cautioning that
this could have a negative impact on the economy if
you let these tax cuts expire. It certainly is something

(04:06):
being talked about quite extensively.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
