(01:19):
Thanks Garry.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
How are you this morning?
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Doing fine? Thank you good?
Speaker 3 (01:24):
What can you tell me about pen Tech war codings
for a garage. It's a Polyera well application.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah, I'm not familiar with that brand, but the poly
Euras are big time right now, I mean testing out
great been around for a while, probably depending on a
standard epoxy floor coating, probably four times more efficient and
longer life. So everything I'm reading is just great. I
(01:56):
have not used one yet. I've actually talked to a
couple of companies about them, and so I'm kind of
gung ho on them, but i haven't tested them. Steve,
I guess the best way to really answer that, Oh.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
I've got a two thousand square foot stop that I'm
just tired of walking into my house and dragging in
concrete dust, you know, and you just can't get rid
of it.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
So yeah, there's.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
There's no matter what you do, you can not be
you can do anything.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Yeah. Yeah, So this did you say getting it done?
Did you say this is a garage floor? I missed
that one? The part what it is?
Speaker 3 (02:41):
It is it is two thousand squarre foot concrete floor.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Okay, So did you say you contracted to have it done?
Speaker 3 (02:49):
I did?
Speaker 1 (02:50):
I did?
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Getn't it done the day after Memorial Weekend?
Speaker 2 (02:53):
All right, Well, you're going to be our field reporter.
In all honesty, there are so many things I talk
about garage floors lot. There's a lot of do it
yourself products out there that are excellent. I've had Peter
Disch from Dice Coatings on. You know, I'm gun ho
about that. The lifespan on knows about fifteen years. He's
(03:14):
got an industrial POxy. The polyura ureas are just in
that same category.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
You know.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
There's the nature stone. That's what I have on my
garage floor. It's probably twelve years old. And there's so many,
so much great stuff. And you're the perfect person for
this because so many of us enter I used to
call the garage the new foyer. So many of us
enter our homes through the garage. And you know, if
(03:45):
nothing else for organization and cosmetics, that's worth it. But
I look forward to hearing your response on it. But
I think the ones i've seen they're beautiful.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
Yeah, I would agree. Yeah, well, I will let you
know after I bring everything back into my shop two
days later.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
There you go right there, man. Yeah, well, the ying
and the yang, right, it'll be worth it.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Stay time, time to reorganize. I'm working on that right now.
I think you mentioned that earlier.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Yeap, it's on my list also, I hear you, well,
good luck, Thank you much for the call. Poly Urias.
It's the thing right now though, So you're in good hands,
I'm sure, all right.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
If you public service, you do a great job.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Thank you, take care, bye bye, all right, it's eight
hundred and eight two three eight two five five. You'd
like to grab that line, go ahead. I'm dead serious, undergrush,
For there's some phenomenal codings and it doesn't all have
to be the real expensive and you know they do
the service. Those dish codings that I've talked about, Yeah,
(04:53):
you got to do the work. But I mean, if
you're looking for something that's going to get you in
the you know, f twenty years of life, you might
have to steal it once or twice. But you can
do those projects yourself too, or getting with a company
that does the paly ureas longevity. Certainly there. All right,
(05:17):
let's go to Tom.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Tom. Welcome, hey, good morning, tell you good morning.
Speaker 5 (05:25):
I got a parquet floor in my church. Okay, probably
fifty years old. It doesn't get much traffic, but in
the wintertime it drives up a little bit and I
can hear it crackle as I walk along. And it's
not everywhere, it's just occasionally as I'm walking down the aisle,
(05:47):
and I know, maybe the best thing to do is
varnish it over and maybe that'd take care of it.
But co temporary fifths, Can I just use a damp
mop on that thing that put a little bit of
moisture into it and help it out.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
So is it doing it now?
Speaker 6 (06:10):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Okay? And has it been doing it all winter? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (06:15):
Through the winter. It's worse in the summer, you know,
of course it's not so bad.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
So big.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Yeah, adding adding the moisture, I don't know. Do you
know where you're You almost got to look at where
you There's so many things that could be Moisture is
certainly one of the big ones. But do you have
any idea where the humidity level is in that area?
Speaker 7 (06:45):
No? No, I don't, okay, and I don't meet her,
but I know that we protect our piano with a
humidifier in there.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
Uh. And I can tell from that that the humidity
fluctuates summer to winter. Yeah, and I have to fill that.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Well. I just.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
I know this is an odd question you're getting here,
But I just was looking for a temporary fix rather
than a permanent one.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Well, increasing the humidity could be a temporary.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Fix, okay. Ye, So humidification may help the wood swell,
tighten it up, and squeeze go away. However, what is
that parquet floor on Is it on a concrete slab.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Is it on a wood subfloor or what's it connected to.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Concrete? Okay, so it's just I just don't know if
is it on the concrete and then there's it's right
on the ground, so there may be moisture coming up
through there. I mean, you can try it.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
It's not going to really hurt anything. You know, if
you're damp mop at it, you're going to add some
moisture to it. It's just not going to be It
might be absorbed into the atmosphere real fast and maybe
won't do any good. Yeah, is yeah, I mean, do
you think any of those tiles are loose?
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (08:21):
I was looking down the road thinking maybe the adhesive
underneath maybe deteriorating.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Could be Yeah, that's a possibility. I'll tell you another
thing that sometimes can be helped. You know a lot
of times their tongue and groove, right, they're glued and
their tongue and grooved. Yeah, so if that adhesive is
just you know, not as tight as it once was,
so there's some movement in the tile. And if there's
(08:53):
movement in a tile, there's movement in the tongue and groove,
and the movement in the tongue and groove will make
creaks and squeaks, and movement will create sound. And I've
seen people in the traffic areas just apply like talc
or baby powder and literally sweep it into the floors
(09:17):
and it almost works as a lubricant.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
Never thought about that.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
So, you know, I just hate to get your hopes
up and say, you know, you mop that that problem
will go away. I'm guessing it probably won't, but I
don't know, maybe it will. I mean, you would be
adding moisture, but it wouldn't be really raising the humidity
level in that room to a consistency. You know, you
were talking about the piano or something, you know. I mean,
(09:46):
that's all about keeping that humidity right around forty five
to fifty five percent year round. So that means adding
a humidifier, working with a deumidifier, because you don't want
to swell either. But with all that fluctuation of humidity,
there gets to be some torquing and movement of the
(10:09):
tongue in groove and some movement which creates the sound,
which the towel takes care of.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
Yeah, that's why I want to point out for my question.
The reason is they're having a wedding in there not
too long ago, when somebody was walking up and down
the aisle. They're on the side of the sanctuary and
you can hear it. Every once in a while, you hear.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
That, you can't you hear them coming.
Speaker 5 (10:38):
Yeah, well, I got to try to figure something out here.
But I think I'm going to try the talcum powder.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Yeah, give it a try. Let me know if it
works for you. That would be you know, you're saying
temporary solution. Stuff that may very well help you out,
and it may be a little longer lasting than say,
just the fluctuation of a damp mop.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
Yeah, all right, I appreciate it. I will let you know.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Thank you, you bet you take care, Thanks, bye bye,

Harold welcome.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
Hey, Gary Rollside. How are you today, friend?
Speaker 2 (14:22):
I'm just living the dream today. I hope you're doing well.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
Okay, I'm well. This has got to be divine intervention, Gary.
I come, I turned. I got a little project this
morning at the lake. I turn on the radio and
you're talking to Bruce Yaco and I have my steady
in my hand going out to clean windows. I mean,
(14:47):
that's divine intervention, Gary.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
That it is that. It is certainly motivation to the peak.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
Tell tell Bruce thanks for talking to God today to
get me going on that dull.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
I will do that.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
Hey, I've got aluminum sliding glass door. Want to paint
the aluminum? Tell me how to do that.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Yeah. So it's just oxidized a little bit.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
Is that the main issue?
Speaker 4 (15:19):
Not as much oxidation. I just want to change the color.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Okay, okay, all right, there'll be some oxidation on there.
So the key to always is the prep and removal
of that oxidation or dirt or film or whatever is
the key. So I talked to the other person.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
I was mentioning, you know, like one to one vinegar
and water, and you can certainly do that with a
little bit of a couple drops of liquid soap. Let
it sit on there and then get a wet cotton
cloth and scrub away. That's that's one, you know, real
good way of doing it. Another way is it's an
old it's an old product. It's an old standby, but
(16:01):
it does really good with oxidation and dirt and that's
tri sodium phosphate and they make it in a rinse
free product, Herald, and really it's a powder. It's mixed
with water.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Same way wet rag.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Just moisten the surface with it, kind of let it
sit for a while and just scrub away, and you know,
if there is any oxidation, it'll clean it up. And
that oxidation is you know, that would be a key
component if it failed. So getting rid of of that,
if there's any is going to.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
Be very important.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
What Sherwin Williams paint would you recommend on the aluminum, Well, you.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
Can go a couple routes if you wanted to look
like that finish that's on there. In other words, it's
it looks like an old really good high quality.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Oil based finish. I know it's factory painted, but that's
why it's so smooth. There's not much texture. The ones
I talk a lot about the duration and the exterior paints,
those have a little bit of a texture. But there's
one called Emerald Euthane trim Enamo and it's it's like
(17:10):
a classic old oil based finish, and it ain't cheap.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Not just i'm here, I've got to you recommend it
on something. I have a quart of it and I
remember it it being the budget of a third world nation.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
It ain't cheap, but I'll tell you what, You'll get
a great finish. So that would be the first thing
I would recommend. If you want to get a modified
oil acrylic enamo, you can certainly use that. And then
my third choice would be probably the duration next to
your house paint. And there's nothing wrong with that pain.
(17:45):
It's a phenomenal house paint. But if you wanted to
really look like a trimming nemo or a factory spray,
the euthane's probably the best product.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
I'm gonna go with the trim enamel because that's that's
worked for me.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Good.
Speaker 4 (17:59):
One lay question, best way to cran clean the screens
on my screened in port here at the lake.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
You know, there's a new product out and so the
the old way is there is a you know, it
would be like soap and water, spray it on and
then just take a sponge and then hose it off.
Wetting Forget has just introduced a product I haven't. They
sent me a bottle to test it. I haven't used
it yet, sitting on my workbench. It is a hose
(18:31):
end and you connect, you know, you connect the hose
just like they're Wet and Forget and it's a it's
a screening glass cleaner that just sprays on. And I
got a big screen porch and that's gonna be my
test lab and it's probably gonna get used next week.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
But I haven't used it yet.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
But their products have never let me down. And it's
it's it's out in in stores now or on am on.
So you might want to take a look at that
because it looks pretty easy.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
One last thing, I'll Wet and Forget. You know, I'm
in the outdoor furniture business, and so we have our
outdoor cushions and people are constantly calling the customer service
about that mold and mildew right, come in the wet
and forget it. Walks break.

And by the way, our phone number is eight hundred

Speaker 1 (22:59):
Two five five. You can grab a line. Let's get
to Chris. Chris, welcome, Hi.
Speaker 9 (23:06):
No, I have a quick question. I have a white
stove and there's a few little like I wouldn't they're
like not really chips, but it's like little specks that
can see the silver underneath. And I just wanted to
know if there's anything I can use to just touch
up that area. It's not on the oven door. It's
(23:27):
right below where the jets are. There's like a little
lip and maybe with cleaning over the years, I've scrubbed
too hard, and so there's probably about three or four
little silver marks. And I'm just wondering something I can use.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Yeah, so tell me exactly where that is. Again, you
said you could see something underneath it. Could it be
like rust or what are you seeing?
Speaker 9 (23:51):
No, No, it looks it looks like aluminum underneath.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
I don't know what.
Speaker 9 (23:56):
You know. When they painted the stove, there must have
been some kind of metal that they were painting. Oh,
so that's what I see. It looks like it looks
like aluminum to me, But it's tiny there. There's just
like maybe four of them, and it bugs me.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Well, there is there is what they call porcelain touch
up paint. I know it's probably not porcelain, it sounds
like it is paint. It comes in a little probably
two ounce bottle with the cap that screws in and
at the end of that cap is a little tiny brush. Okay,
so it's literally this little bottle with this touch up
(24:34):
paint and you unscrew the cap. You got a little
tiny brush and you just touch up those little spots.
Speaker 9 (24:40):
Now, Oh, okay, that's the good what I'm looking for.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Yeah, that's the good news. The bad news is everybody
thinks white's white, but there's a bazillion colors of white,
so I know it's it's the actual name of the
product is White Porcelain touch up paint. So you're gonna
you're probably gonna bite it and you're probably gonna try it.
(25:06):
We're probably gonna hope together that it matches. So you
might want to try it down out of the way,
maybe on the corner of a drawer or something, you know,
if you got to pull out drawer for pans at
the end, just put a little of it on the
side and yeah, see if it, you know, see if
it blends in, if it does have at it.
Speaker 9 (25:25):
Yeah, all right, Well that's just wonderful, and thank you
for sharing that white porce one touch up paint. So
any good hardware store with.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
That they should have it. Yes, they should.
Speaker 9 (25:37):
Okay, thanks so much.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
All right, Chris, thank you, and we'll go to Alan. Alan, Welcome.
Speaker 10 (25:45):
Bye, first time color.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Thank you.
Speaker 10 (25:50):
I have a.
Speaker 11 (25:52):
Cofo tub that needs refinished and I heard that you
have places that you recommend and maybe some things to
stay away from on refinishing a cloth with tub.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
Nothing really to stay away from. Well, yeah, I do.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
You're right.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
See you're reminding me Alan. There are there are kids
in hardware stores where you can do it yourself, and
I've never had luck with them, Okay, and if I did,
I'd be recommending them. But yeah, I think it's something
that you want to have professionally done. I've seen and
I've talked to many people in that business over the years,
(26:31):
and by far the one that excels and the one
I've used at my own home is.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
A company called Miracle Method.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Miracle Method, the key to their product is they have
a priority type primer.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
It is a really strong epoxy it.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
I had both bethubs upstairs in the second floor, redone
after the kids moved out, and I'm telling you did
a great job. They also do a lot of commercial
work in college dorms and hotels. So that's the way
to go. I mean, there's other options. I mean, but
that's the way to go. There's also liners that can
(27:20):
go over them, which are more expensive that they do
a really good job. They're almost like a PVC liner.
Those two things I would say are your best options.
Speaker 10 (27:35):
Quite honestly, the PBC liner. How do I get one
of those? Are they Amazon or No?
Speaker 1 (27:43):
That's professionally installed. There's different companies like Rebath, bath Fitter,
Luxury bas systems. They're not they're not all PVC. There's
some of them. Whatever the plastic is like Jacuzzi use,
and they're quite honestly, they're almost as much as a
good baththub if you were to replace it, and I
(28:04):
would hope you wouldn't replace that clall. I mean, those
are the beautiful tubs.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
But the Miracle method, I'm telling you, when they're finished
with it, Alan, it'll look like a brand new tub.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
It really will. I think they're warnings like three or
four years, but you should get really if you just
don't use drain acid and stuff like that, you should
get fifteen years out of it.
Speaker 10 (28:31):
Is there any reason to do the outside or is
that just a cosmetic well.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
I think it would be cosmetic. I don't know what
it would look like if you did the inside, not
the outside, you know, So I think I'll leave that
up to you, and if you get them out there
to give you a quote, discuss that with them. I
don't see any reason that you would have to do
(28:58):
the outside, but just from appearance and what is the
actual cost savings might come help make your decision anyway.
Speaker 10 (29:08):
Yeah, yeah, I didn't know if there was a reason.
If you do the outside like and it helps the
inside to stay longer.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
No, on an old claw foot tub, I mean that's
probably cast iron with a porcelain overlay on it. So no,
it's not going to really help one way or the other.
Speaker 10 (29:26):
Okay, except any idea how much this tubs weigh. Mine's
five foot by thirty inches and I can't find out anywhere.
I know it's heavy, but nobody seems to know how
much they.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
Weigh A lot. I can tell you that to get
that thing out of there, you'd have to cut it up, seriously.
I mean, I don't know if it weighs three hundred pounds,
four hundred pounds, or five hundred pounds, but you would
have to cut that thing up and take it out
in pieces.
Speaker 10 (29:57):
That's that's okay, that makes sense because it doesn't look
like something I ever want to move.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
Yeah, I don't think you do.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
And to be honest with you, if I mean it
adds to the charm of the house that era. I
mean the bethtub manufacturers now there, I don't know. It
seemed like there was three hundred different types of bathtubs.
Now there's like three thousand different types of bathtubs, and
they really try to replicate that particular tub, you know,
(30:30):
and they try to do them in the fiberglass and
stuff for like twelve hundred bucks. I mean those tubs
are really they're gorgeous tubs. I've seen them. There's a
dealer out of Cleveland, the Miracle Method dealer. I used
to run into them all the time at the home
show up there, and he was a fireman, he was
a veteran and he did one with an American flag
(30:52):
on the inside. It was gorgeous. I mean it really
was gorgeous. So not saying you need that, you just
need a white bathtub, I get it, But my point
being is it'll it'll look it'll just look factory made.
It'll look beautiful.
Speaker 10 (31:08):
Okay, probably last another one hundred and fifty years.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Well I don't know about that, but it'll last. It'll
last at your lifetime.
Speaker 11 (31:16):
Well, thank you so much, Gary, very helpful.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
All right, very good call anytime. Thank you much, appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
All right. Our phone number is eight hundred eight two
three eight two five five In all honest, if you looked,
maybe you have, maybe you haven't. A number of years ago,
I got into this project of redoing our bathroom. And
you know, you may be listening to me. You may
(31:43):
have an old claw foot tub, or you may have
one of those big jacuzzi tubs, the big garden tubs.
And we never used the garden tub because well, it
drained the water heater. It was you almost had to
take a step up into the tubb. It wasn't necessary
and it took up a lot of space. And anyway,
when we reconfigured our bathroom, we eliminated that and we
(32:06):
got a free standing tub, not a claw foot, but
it had a nice base on it and built a
little wall around it. Was it was very attractive. It's
very attractive.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
But when I started looking at tubs on the different
sizes that were available, to different shapes that were available,
the different wists that were available.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
It was mind blowing. I mean there is so many
different configurations and different qualities from solid tubs to you know,
like molded tubs where there's you know, they're not solid
at all.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
It's like a hollow core door. So and I'm sure
you get what you paid for.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
I think the new tub we bought was maybe a
couple thousand bucks and it's a great tub. We do
use it where we never used the other ones. So
just pass that along, Sean. You'll be up first.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
We'll take a little break and back at it we go.

Speaker 6 (36:31):
Hey Gary. Well, of course I love your show. As
a contractor and a construction worker, I listened to you
of Saturdays and Sundays and thanks by morning wake up.
I've got house sparrows in the AC unit. I'm on
the fourth floor, so i'd rape some laughs over. It's
hard for me to get too because I don't have
(36:53):
a forty foot extension ladder notable, and plus the parking
lot is straight uphill, so for me to put a
level would be a real task. So I have house
sparrows that are nesting in my AC unit. Now I
can reach down to the AC unit, which would be
about my way waist, but I need to reach down
(37:15):
six more inches, which would put me down four stories
fly right out of the window. Is there some type
of a repellent A spray?
Speaker 5 (37:23):
I tried.
Speaker 6 (37:24):
I have put some reachedound enough to put a couple
of sponges and sponges in there with ammonia. I've tried
some mothballs and they just make nests out of those
sponges and mouthballs. Wow, is ZERI some type of a
spray repellentin?
Speaker 1 (37:42):
So this is like a window air conditioner? Is that
what it is?
Speaker 6 (37:45):
Well, it's it's not out of the window, it's out
of the out of the wall underneath the windows.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
The thing.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
That's why I have to. I have to reach down
through the windows.
Speaker 6 (37:55):
I can get down to about the top of the
because the two windows to the left and the right.
If the windows open in the center, I can do
what I need to do. But they don't, so I
have to reach from the left side or the right
side with my left arm or my right arm. So
I can't get fully in there to do.
Speaker 1 (38:17):
Yeah. Would bird netting help at all?
Speaker 6 (38:21):
Well, no, they already have. They already have nests, their nesting.
Now I'm kidding bird netting, I can't. The thing is
is that I can get to the top of the
AC unit, right.
Speaker 1 (38:33):
You can't with with some.
Speaker 6 (38:35):
With some wiring, I draped some laugh, which is the
same exact size. It's a twenty four by eighteen and
a half the AC unit, so I draped it over.
But those those little demons, I mean, they just got
right back in there. Yeah, for them, it's more like
a safety It's almost like they're using my lap as
(38:57):
a safety issue.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
I mentioned this product, I'll get hate mail, but I'm
gonna mention it. I don't even know if it's made anymore.
There are different bird repellents out there.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
Please mention it.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
It's called tanglefoot. It comes in a calking tube.
Speaker 6 (39:15):
You said, tangle.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Tangle foot gets on their feet, it eventually kills the bird.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
But it's get into the unit. That's you know, that's
where I'm in a disadvantage. I'm really having kind of
a difficult time even picturing it. So you know, from
your standpoint you look at it, it's a clocking tube
that goes in a cacking gun. And if you're saying, though, that's.
Speaker 6 (39:44):
No, there's no way is there. I mean there's six
things as uh repellents meaning sprays or like, yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
There are some birds repellent sprays. I'm I have not
used those. I'll tell you what I've had.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
And it's not in an air conditioning unit. But it's
also about thirty six feet up in the air, and
it's a ledge over a door and then there's a brick.
It's almost like a transo window.
Speaker 6 (40:14):
You're speaking my language right now, because that's what I have.
I have a ledge that goes out okay, it's about
eight inches, and then I have to go down above that,
I mean below that. Now I can reach the top
of the AC unit. I can pull that whole AC
unit out. But the thing is is that if I
pull the whole AC unit out, if I put it
(40:37):
back in, I still can't put a cage either. I
have to There's no room for the cage or the
the You understand.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
What I'm saying. Yeah, I know what you're saying. So
what I do?
Speaker 6 (40:50):
The AC unit has four and a half inches on
both sides. That's where the birds are getting in, and
that's where i'd rate. The laugh over on the top
is fine, but those little I don't hate that either.
Those little demons are still getting in there. So I'm listening.
(41:12):
I'm listening in my living room and they're nesting and
I can read down almost and take their nests out,
but then I'll get cut by the laugh that I installed.
So I'm looking for some kind of it's ray.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
Well, here's what I think the best bet is to do.
Speaker 1 (41:31):
Now.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
It may not work, and you may laugh when I
tell you what it is. But in the years that
I fought bird issues, there was two things that worked.
And a lot of people listening right now is tell
them to put an owl up or tell them to put.
Speaker 1 (41:46):
A snake up. And if you can position those, I'm
dead serious. I had one. I tried owls.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
I tried hologram tapes to create flashing and make I was.
Speaker 6 (41:59):
Thinking, I was thinking of a pin wheel.
Speaker 1 (42:01):
Yeah, a couple of.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
Changing the environment has a good chance of working. Whether
it's the hologram my lar tape, whether it's the pinwheel,
whether it's the owl. I had one I fought with
for a whole year, and I finally finally won. I
went to Walmart and got a little rubber snake that
(42:23):
was probably no more than fifteen inches long. They said
it right on it and they had nothing to do
with it. They scooed it and got out of don
And so I think I would try those kinds of things,
to be honest with you.
Speaker 6 (42:40):
Inexpensive thought anyway.
Speaker 2 (42:42):
Yeah, yeah, and I really think it's gonna be your
best bet. The other thing that worked has ended up.
It was more of birds roosting and we could not
get rid of them. And you've seen them where they
have spikes, and that's not going to work and happening.
Speaker 6 (42:58):
Right now because they're roosting for sure.
Speaker 2 (43:01):
So we had a pest control company that had feed
which just would get them disorientated. They would eat it
and they would go off and they wouldn't find their
way back.
Speaker 3 (43:13):
And so what kind of you said feed I had?
Speaker 6 (43:18):
Well, I barely have enough room to get my paws
in there.
Speaker 1 (43:24):
Yeah, well they yeah, And this wasn't something that I did.
We it was a store that we had and they
would roost up between the joist pockets and the spikes
weren't keeping them out. We had to get rid of them.
They were doing all kinds of damage. And this past control.
Speaker 6 (43:41):
And my car is parked immediately below four stories out,
so you can imagine I have a white car, so
you can imagine what my car looked like.
Speaker 2 (43:50):
My car, So that was true a past control company.
So and you know, and to wrap it up, what
I would do is, I don't know if I do
the owl. I've never hit great luck with that. But
that rubber snake, and it was an orange rubber snake.
It was a godsend and it worked and it was
(44:11):
probably about I don't know, four feet from where they were,
but they were going to have nothing to do with that.
Speaker 1 (44:19):
Keep listening because Sean's got a tip also, and we'll
talk a little bit more about their John's got a
tip for Sean, and we got a little bit more
to talk about that, Plus we got Don and Beth.
