Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, sometimes you live by the sword, sometimes you die
by the sword. I won in one of the best
ways possible this week, and I lost in one of
the worst ways possible this week. I'll tell you how
my week went in this week's edition of Fantasy Freaking Football.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
It's time to review.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Your fantasy team. Here down your.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Commissioners each time for Fantasy Freaking Football.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Well, before we get to my roller coaster week, how
did your week look?
Speaker 2 (00:34):
How did you do thor?
Speaker 3 (00:35):
You know? I did good? I went two and three,
two and three, yeah, two, I mean one to my leagues, lost.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
One of my leags. Oh so two and one to
two and one.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
What did I say? I meant to be saying I won.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Two out of three.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Yeah. Yeah. The league that I lost in, I'm now
two and seven. I can't buy a victory. It sucks.
But my other two leagues, I'm I'm seven to two
and five and four hanging in there. Uh. In our
work league, it sucks. I have the most points in
the league, but I'm five and four and this week
I have a lot of buys, so I'm one lost
away from falling. It's just I don't know what's going
(01:06):
on there. But Yeah, I'm hanging in there in fantasy.
It's all you gotta do is just be in it.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Well.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Yeah, that's the biggest thing for me in our work
league is that I think I have the same record
as you. I'm not sure, but I know I'm right there.
I'm still in the playoff spot right now. I won
this week. I don't know how I was projected to
lose by like thirty points and I still won.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
The guy I played didn't just didn't have a great week,
and so I'll take it. But it was It's weird
because I've been just trying to stay afloat because that's
the league of where I drafted Christian McCaffrey. Yeah, and
so it's like I've been trying to survive, survive, survive,
keep my head about water. And now we're here where
I finally think I'm gonna be able to pay some
dividends here with McCaffrey coming back. So if he comes
(01:48):
back and is able to play this week, that's a
godsend because I don't know how I've I mean, it's
just been smoking mirrors for me all season long in
that league. Now my other two leagues, it was a
bizarre week for me. So in my OG league, the
one that I've been in forever, I had one of
the worst weeks ever as far as points go. Me
(02:08):
and the other guy that I played against had the
two lowest scoring outputs in our league that week. Now,
thankfully I had better than him. That's really it is.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
Points matter, but the W matters more.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Oh, that's all that matters. Yeah, So I mean to me,
do you be able to squeak out a win when
I had like a terrible week? I was like, that's massive, man,
he just happened to have a worst week. So I'll
take that all day now. In the league that we're
in together, this is the one that was a disaster
for me. So I had a great output. I was
looking really really good going into Monday night football were
(02:45):
were I was done, and I had a really solid lead.
I think I was leading by like nineteen twenty points
and something like that, and he only had Travis Kelcey
and I went, oh, okay, Travis has been terrible this
year and it's PPR and it's PPR, so I was
kind of thinking of my while Travis he's been hitt
and miss mostly miss this season. So I'm, you know,
(03:05):
pretty sure that the Chiefs are gonna win this game.
But then I saw the weather and I'm like, oh,
they're probably not gonna throw the football that much. I
feel pretty confident he's not gonna have like a crazy
output game. Well, if you watch the game, it was unbelievable.
They just kept throwing it to him and throwing it
to him and throwing it to him, and he was
catching the ball and like you said, it's PPR. But
even that being said, I was still sitting pretty If
(03:28):
the game would have ended in regulation, I win by
two points. But what happened game went to overtime, and
because the game went into overtime, they threw the ball
to him a couple more times, and because of that,
I lost. I couldn't believe it, dude, Like overtime cost
me really, so that sucked, man, I was really really Yeah,
(03:51):
that sucks.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
But you know, it depends, it depends. You never know
what's gonna happen. Because that same week I won. This
past week in our league, that or in and I
want to score a lot of points because I want
to stay ahead because I'm hoping I'm in the top
two right now. Hope for a first round by which
I've never had, which is so clutch in the first
round the Fantasy playoffs, and I had Kyler Murray and
(04:15):
Jonathan Taylor left and they could bind for twelve points.
So you just never know, so like guys could either
be awful and then all of a sudden they explode
out of nowhere. It's just fantasy is so wild, it is,
you just never know. There's so much lucky. Ye know
what you're doing, but there's so much lucky.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
But it's so rare that you have like such a
dominant team that you just hit on everything. You're not
gonna have injuries. You're not gonna I mean, it's so rare.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Dude, look at me. I mean, I can't stop having injuries.
I finally had a game where I thought I had
everyone back button Nico Collins, and then T Higgins has
been hurt. Now the saying's gonna miss a third game
off for a quad injury in practice, Like what the
hell is he doing in practice?
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Devastating? Devastating. All right, let's get to your questions. You
can hit us up on X at the show, Eddie
at the show, or if you got your question since
or you can just email him to us, whichever works
for you. This question says, who would you start at
quarterback this week? Kyler Murray or c J. Stroud. Now,
Murray had such a down week last week, he makes
me nervous. Stroud has nobody to throw to, so it's
(05:14):
actual dilemma.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Honestly. If Nico Collins is back, and at first I
thought he was coming back this week guaranteed, but now
they're playing at KOY, so I really don't know. But
if Nico Collins is back, I'd probably start the Texans.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
C J.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Stroud, Yeah, I agree, because that secondary is not great
with the Lions, and they're gonna have to score a
lot of points if if if Nico Collins isn't back,
I got no problem with with Kyler Murray. Did he
have a down week with four points? Yeah he did.
But they're playing the Jets, who are on the road.
And just because they won one game that had a
nice performance pretty defense, though this from one game. Other
than that one game they had, they haven't been that
(05:48):
great on defense, and I could see Kyler running all
over him.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
I mean, they've been giving up a lot of points.
They let Jacoby Brisset go up and down the field
on him.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
No, uh yeah, I mean Kyler is not a bad start.
I don't think it's a bad start. Yeah, he definitely.
What's crazy about that is that the Cardinals dominated and
won and he only had four points, So yeah, that
is pretty wild. But yeah, Murray I think is a
safe play c J.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Stroud.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Yeah, he's definitely regressed, and you know he has no
weapons right now, so it's it's definitely tough.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
But I like CJ this week. I think they're gonna be.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Okay even without Nico.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
Even without Nico, I think that the Texans should be okay,
But I think Murray's the safe play in that sort
of a situation. This question says I have stuck with
Kyle Pitts this whole time, but was able to pick
up cade Aughton last week after Auten's last couple of
big games. Is it now trying time to start Auton
over Pits this week?
Speaker 3 (06:46):
I'm trying to do are playing the Saints, I'd still
stick with Pits. I don't.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Well, yeah, I mean the Bucks are taken on. San
Francisco has a pretty good defense, so because of that,
the matchup Wise tells me Pitts is the start. Now
again he's boom or bust, and so that's it. It's
the hard part Auten is he's been solid. Yeah, but
I don't know that You're also gonna get a giant
output from Auden.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
No, and and you're playing then the Niners, who have
a good defense. So I would still stick with Pitts.
The Saints, you don't know what you're gonna They just
fire the coach. I would I would not be surprised
the Saints win this game. Whenever you see a team
that fires their coach, they play really well the following week.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
So, uh, flex spot, who would you play between Darnell Mooney,
Bucky Irving or Javonte Williams.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
Oh, this is a tough one. I'd probably stick with
Bucky Irving because Javonte against the Chiefs is a tough matchup.
And then you said Darnell Mooney, I mean he I
know we got that one touchdown, but his last couple
of games, he hasn't done anything. I think Bucky he's
gonna get you carries and he's touchdown dependent, but he
could get a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
I think Bucky would probably be my last pick out
of the three, so we're gonna disagree. Yeah, again, it depends.
If it's PPR, then you're gonna go with Move. If
it's Standard, I would probably go with Javonte Williams. They've
definitely made a concerted effort to get him the ball
more and it's helped them. It's helped bo Nix, it
helps the Broncos offense, and so I think they're going
to continue that trend. I I understand what you're saying
(08:15):
about the matchup, but Bucky has a tough matchup as well.
So if if it was me, i'd probably go Javonte.
But if it's PPR that I'm gonna go Mooney. It
doesn't really matter. Last one start at running back. Who
do you like between JK. Dobbins and DeAndre Swift this week?
Speaker 3 (08:32):
Probably that is tough. Both of those teams stink and
I hate playing they don't stink. Oh sorry, I was
thinking of Sorry, I was thinking of the Bears so well,
DeAndre Andre Swift. I forgot about Jaking does Jake? I
would go the Tights. I'd probably go with JK. Dobbins,
but he's not he hasn't been that great lately, right,
(08:54):
hasn't he been the.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Last week yet?
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Well, other than last week, he hasn't been like what
he was the first few weeks, Like yeah, fifty seven yards,
forty yards, ninety six yards, thirty two yards, forty four yards.
He started out with a bang, and then last week
he had the two touchdowns. Right, yeah, I probably you're right.
I'd probably go with J. K.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Dobbins.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Well, I got confused on the player.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
So DeAndre Swift is a guy. If they feed him
the ball, then he has pretty good upputs. But for
some reason, they they are not helping Kayleb Williams at all.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
And I don't think what hearing from the Bears like
they're they're like.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
They coach really hate their coach.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Yeah, it's getting ugly there.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
It's a mess. It seems like it's a it's a
big time mess there in Chicago. Uh Now, because they
sort of went away from Swift last week, I gotta
imagine that's got to be part of their game plan
to fix it this week. So for this week, I
actually will go with DeAndre Swift just in hopes that
they figure it out and go, well, we have to
(09:49):
run the football if we're gonna win, Like we can't
just have Caylen Williams running around and hawking the ball up.
That is not a successful plan. So but who knows.
I think you're probably to me it's a coin flip
with both those guys. They're both, you know, kind of
the same guy. But I like Swift just a little
bit more.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
Yeah, all right, all right.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Who's your starts and sits for the week? At quarterback?
Who do you like to start?
Speaker 3 (10:10):
I mean, we talked about him earlier. I think Kyler
Murray is going to have a decent game, No really,
because I don't think the Jets are gonna win. I
think the Jets played a defense, They had a short
they had a short they had a short week at
home against a team that's banged up. I think I
think the Cardinals are better than people think, because you
want to say here in first place. They're in first place,
but you're still like, oh, it's the Cardinals. But they're
playing good football. So I think I would start Carler Murray.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
My start this week is a guy who is making
I mean, lemonade out of lemons. I guess I was
going to say something else, but I can't really say that.
My start this week is Justin Herbert. If you look
at who he's throwing to. I don't know how he's
doing it, but for some reason, Palmer's doing good. Quentin
Johnson's actually playing decent and again, and so I think
Justin Herbert is gonna have a big game against Tennessee.
(10:55):
So I like Justin Herbert this week. Who's your sit?
Speaker 3 (10:57):
My sit this week is a guy who starts that
people got excited about. Is Joe Flacco. First of all,
the Bills are on a roll right now. Second, they
should have kept Anthony richardson and as the starter. And
then when he started not playing well, bringing Joe Flacco
because that's when Joe Flacco kind of shines when he
doesn't have to get game planned for right now. Now
your game planning for Flacco? You know how to beat Flacco.
(11:20):
I know that it's in Indianapolis, but the Bills are
a good team. I just don't see Flacco doing anything.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
Yeah, my sit this week is your guy. I know
you're a big Baker Mayfield guy. He's been fantastic, No
no disrespect to Baker. He's turned his career around in
Tampa Bay. He's had a phenomenal season, but not this week. Again,
I don't know who he's throwing to. I don't even
know who these guys are. But he's figured it out
and he did really well against Kansas City, who's got
(11:47):
a top defense. But I don't like him against San
Francisco this week. And I think at this point the
shine is off. I think Tampa is going to start really,
you know they're not.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
They should have They should have win for two. Yeah,
if they go for two, then it's a completely different scenario.
But I agree with what you're saying, so.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
I think it's going to dishearten them a little bit.
And I just don't like him this week running back.
Who's your start?
Speaker 3 (12:08):
This hurts, but it's true. Cuba Howbard is gonna run
all over the Giants. The Giants have once you take
out Dexter Lawrence to give him a breather, they have
nobody to stop the run. They can't score points.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Not worried about the game being overseas.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
No, I'm not worried about that. I'm worried that I
have to wake up a sixth to watch this turn.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
Don't do it.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
I think Cuba Harbor will run all over I think
the Panthers have a real shot to win.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
To be honest with him, Wow, my start this week
is a guy who has had a decent season. He's
a little bit up and down, just kind of like
the team. But this week I like Romandre Stevenson against
the Bears. Bears don't have a great defense. They're struggling
right now, like we've been talking about. I think the
Patriots sneaky. This might be one game where you're like, wow,
(12:52):
I can't believe the Patriots beat the Bears could happen,
And if they do, it's gonna be because of their
running game. Ramanre Stevenson, who's your shit?
Speaker 3 (12:59):
My sit this week is the Jags backfield against the
Vikings Because I was more specific, Big, I have to
start Bigsby. I have no choice. It's touchdown dependent. But
Atn got less carries than I know.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
I don't decent and when I.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
Don't know, and the Vikings have a good defense. Now,
I don't want to start either of them.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
I understand exactly what you're coming from, But yeah, I
went with one guy. I went with Tank because it
looks like he's sort of now on the outside to.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
Make any sense.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Well, and neither a tenn is clearly the man he's
you know, he's coming off the injury and whatever. But
it's like they hate him there now, like they're not
they're not happy with him. Tank has looked good when
they give him the ball, but now he's even getting
less carries. There's like a third guy, I forgetting what his.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Name, the guy who trelor Lawrence threw the ball to
with the game on the line, that got picked off.
I don't know what.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Well, they're a mess, absolutely so yeah, I would probably
avoid all of them. Wide receiver, who's your start?
Speaker 3 (13:54):
I don't want to say quietly because he's on one
of the best teams in football. I think the best
team in football right now. But A Flowers is having
a wild year. Man, I mean, he's having a monster year.
I'm definitely starting him against the Bengals. This game is
the Bengals season, it's on the road. It's gonna be
tough for them to win. They're gonna score a lot
of points, but I don't know how they're gonna covers
A Flowers.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Interesting that you say that they're the best team in
football when there's an undefeated team who beat that team.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
But anyways, a.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Week one, I can't wait for anyway.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
My start this week, I am sort of on your
tip here of that game that you don't want to watch. Yeah,
I like Xavier Lagette for Carolina, and it's not necessarily
against who they're playing, although it is the Giants. But
if you look at Carolina, who else is there? They've
gotten rid of everybody and so he's sorted the last
(14:43):
man standing there and he's pretty good. Ye know, I
found the end zone. Things like that. So if he's available,
and he's available in a lot of leagues, maybe pick
him up, hold him, see what happens. But like I
do like him this week, who's your shit?
Speaker 3 (14:54):
My sit this week? As again, I'm going back to
that Colt Bills game. Michael Pittman. I thought Michael Pittman's there,
Joe Flacco is in. Here we go and it was
a nightmare. I'm not starting Michael Pittman junior. Yeah, it
killed me in the league. I'm two and seven. It
killed me. I don't love the Colts. Have Jonathan Taylor
and Michael Pittman the same thing.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
Love them.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
My sit this week is a guy who's broken down,
has had a couple of good games, but not this week,
Courtland Sutton for the Broncos, you're taking on Kansas City.
Kansas City defense is just too good. And so I
just I think the Broncos are really going to struggle
this week.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Broncos are winless. Man here we go right that down
the Broncos this week, and then the Chiefs are gonna
lose again next week. It's going to be back to
back like since day one, in your.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Face, tight end, who's your start?
Speaker 3 (15:45):
This was the guy I have who's been a massive disappointment.
But they're trying to get him involved. They have him
ten targets last week. I'm talking about Dalton kin kid
against the Colts.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
You have been trying to get this guy going.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
I'm getting the either not throw the game for DK.
He's getting it going. He's gonna score times down this
week is ten targets last week. They want him to
get involved.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
They're not going to get it to him. No, my
start this week is Dalton Schultz. You know again, if
you look at that Texans offense, or are they gonna
throw it to? And so I think it's gotta be
Dalton Schultz. They are taking on the Lions. I think
that's gonna be a really high scoring game. I like
Dalton Schultz to finally find the end zone this week.
Why'd you make that noise?
Speaker 3 (16:27):
I thought you, I thought Dalton Schultz, and then for
a second I thought about another team.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Okay, sorry, you're a mess.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
I know I am. I I keep thinking guys. I
hate when guys leave teams. Like I thought, Dalton Schultz
is on another team, I thought.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
You just know. He confuses me sometimes. Who's your sit?
Speaker 3 (16:43):
My sit is zach Ertz, who's helped me out a
few times this year. But I am not starting him
against the Steelers. I'm just not doing it. He's had
a decent season. Titan suck this year, so like zach
Ertz has had a decent year for his age and
how good they are. But I'm not starting Sucker again.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
You may be excited that this guy's probably on the
waiver while maybe we're gonna pick him up, and you're
seeing what he's been doing with Cincinnati. But Mike Giseki
against Baltimore, it's over. Sorry, Baltimore is winning that game. Kiseki,
You're not gonna do anything. He's my set.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
If t Higgins doesn't he Kiseki becomes.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
The guy, here we go, not Jamar Chase. Get out here.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Do you even know what team he's on?
Speaker 3 (17:25):
I do. He was on the Dolphins, now he's on
the Bengals.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
Okay, I'm glad you know that. There you go. Hopefully
you go out there and get a win.
