Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, we have a good news, bad news, and a
very interesting situation that has all developed in one week
as we are headed into fantasy playoffs. Time it is.
That's what's going on in this week's edition of Fantasy
Freaking Football.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
It's time to review your fantasy teams.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Here now, commissioners, it's time for Fantasy freaking football. All right,
here we go playoffs. That's where we're at. We are
now into the playoff season. I am going to begin
with the good news. The good news is that both
(00:44):
thor and I have made the playoffs in our work league.
You've made them in both of your league's. The third league,
which was that was rough, but our work league, we
both made it. I had an incredible week where I
beat the guy I was playing by seventy so it
was it was a good week for me in that league.
(01:06):
So I was pretty pumped about that.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
The interesting situation that has popped up is that guess
who's matched up in the first round of the playoffs
Me and Thor. So this is kind of crazy because
I had such a big week, I jumped two spots,
so I thought I was going to finish. We have
eight teams that make the playoffs in the work league,
(01:28):
and so I thought I was going to finish in
seventh and so I would have avoided you. But because
I had such a great week, my point total jumped
me all the way up to sixth, and so now
I'm facing you because of that. So it's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
It's crazy. Yeah, and we both like my wife text
my texting me. Wife was asking on Sunday, she said,
did you make the playoffs? I said yeah. She said,
thank god, and then she was not insted. She's no,
she doesn't want me. She doesn't want to, you know what.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
That's a good point.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
So I said, yeah, I made the playoffs. I said,
but she goes, do you have a shot? And I go,
I usually feel.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
You tell it against me.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
I said, it was against you. She's like, oh, no,
she's gonna And I said, in both leagues, I have
a shot, but it's the round one is by far
gonna be my toughest matchup in our league. We're literally
both projected to score eighty seven points. It's fifty to fifty.
And then in my other league, same thing. His team
is hot and loaded right now, but my team was hot,
(02:23):
had a ton of injuries. Most guys are back except
Dallas Goddard. So my team's also loaded. You know, it's
like fifty to fift.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
You've been making some wild decisions with that team. We'll
get into that team in just a second. But as
far as our work league goes, it is gonna be close.
It sort of just depends, you know, on certain players.
Like again, if if Josh Allen goes off again, then
you're in big trouble.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
But I mean, you gotta have Derek Henry going against
the Giants.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
So Den and yeah, so it's gonna be a coin flip. Obviously,
we'll let you know next week who is going to
be moving on in that league. And so that is
the good news. The bad news for me is that
I told you last week I was on the verge
of coming in last place in your Buddies league where
(03:08):
there is a punishment. Now, I had a great start
where the guy I was playing against had three guys
going on Thursday night football, and he had Jayden Reid
who had a zero, and then he had a couple
other guys who didn't do much like on Ross and
Brown who's his number one.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yeah, who had like fifteen points because he had ten ten,
which is like terrible for him.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
For PPR, Yeah, it's really bad. He did have craft
to the tight end get thirteen, which is okay. And
so but I was sitting for twenty three points for
three guys in PPR. I was like, dude, I think
I got this. Yeah, I feel like I thought pretty good.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
I was rooting for you. I didn't want you to
come in the last place, and I thought I told you.
I'm like, I think you're in a good spot.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
I was feeling good. That's feeling good. And then the
games start to happen.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Well, he also got very lucky too, so you're right,
he got very lucky.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
The situation happened with Kenneth Walker, and you know that
was sort of a late scratch him and George Pickens,
they were sort of like late scratches, and so what
does my opponent do? He grabbed Zach Charbonay.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Yeah, and we all put in probably, but he was yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
And so he got sharbon Ay and that is so
he Actually the whole week had in Jonathan Brooks from Carolina.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Who tore his a cl again, dude.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
So if he doesn't make that move and he doesn't
get sharbon Ay, Brooks got negative point three points, so
I would have won handily. But because he picked up
sharbon Ay and we all saw what Sharbonay did, he
had insane week because he had two guys, Sharboney and
Jordan Addison both score over forty points.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
And I'm sorry Jordan Addison, I mean, the odds of
him doing that again are pretty crazy.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Well, he hasn't even come close.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Just he happened to go off. He's a good receiver,
but I mean he's not forty a forty points?
Speaker 1 (05:00):
No, No, I mean he got three touchdowns. Yeah, so
when does that happen now? So very weird situation. I
was in a very tough deal because Lamar Jackson was
on buy ye And I'm like, that sucks now that
our playoffs are a week before, because you know with
all the new byes and all that stuff, that the
playoffs have been pushed all the way to where there's
(05:20):
still still teams having buys right before the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Yeah, Week fourteen six teams had to buy. I got luckily,
I was in the playoffs already in both leagues. I
was more about seeding. I wanted to buy in one league,
and but I had I had Derek Henry Nico Collins
and Jonathan Taylor on by. Yeah, I can't wait to
three guys.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
I had to pick up a quarterback, and I put
in a claim for Russell Wilson. Somebody got him before me,
so then I ended up with Derek Carr.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Which I thought was a great pick.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
But man, he didn't do nothing.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
The Giants are the worst team in the league. It's
not even a question. I thought the Saints were going
to go in there and just pound them with Kamara
and Derek Carra have a couple of touchdowns the Saints.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Neither thing happened.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
They looked awful.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
And then Derek Carr forgot he was Derek Carr and
tried to jump like super mag it for a first
down and break his head. The idiot.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
And now there are season's over and they're only like
a two games back in the division and this idiot
jumps for no reason, it like breaks his hand.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
So he barely got me any points. Luckily, you know,
I have Justin Jefferson who had a great game. Romadonza
finally came through for me. He caught a touchdown. James
Connor came. I had probably my best week in seven weeks,
eight weeks something like that. I scored one hundred and
thirty three points, which you know in that league's pretty
good and I would beat most people out of plane.
(06:36):
The guy I'm playing at is so it's it's basically
lose and you're you're out, you're in, You're in the
last place. So as me against this guy, he has
the greatest week he's had all year long. Of course
he saves it to this last game and he scored
one hundred and fifty one points basically with two guys,
and I'm like, you gotta be kidding. I couldn't believe it.
(06:58):
So I'm gonna have to do the punished. I have
to do the punch, which I don't care. It is
what it is.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
It is what it is, all on it, and so
I'm going to last in this league. When the punch
wasn't bad. I had a license plate that was like
pink instaid. I came in last.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Honestly, I'd rather do this place because yours lasted all year,
all year. Yeah, so you have to keep that license
plateholder all there. It's pink and said I came in
the last place. I wouldn't want that. Yeah, Uh, that
was my badass truck. So no, I have to go
caddy for the winner of the league, and I have
to wear some sort of dress while caddying. So I mean,
(07:33):
that's super embarrassing, but what do I care. That's honestly,
I've done way more embarrassing, So.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
I don't ever be fun. And because the whole league
will be out there, so it'll be fun, really, and
it's it's gonna be. The golf course is really nice.
It's gonna be it's gonna be fun. But but now
I'm in a position where I'm in the playoffs in
that league and the team I'm playing, like I said,
is the hottest and best team in the league.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
You're in trouble.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Well, I don't know if I'm in trouble. It's fifty
to fifty right now. I think I think both Like
he's got Jamar Chase and Joe Burrow, but I got
Kyler Murray, Derek Henry, and Nico Collins. So I feel
like it it's gonna be interesting who wins this league.
The only thing that really, the only thing that worries
me is that he has the Ravens defense going against
the Giants. You that really scares me.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Speaking of the Giants, you really got railroaded by your
team because you took myleak neighbors in every league and
he was great with no quarterback. What's he supposed to do?
Speaker 2 (08:23):
You know? Yeah, to start the league, to start the season, phenomenal.
And then Daniel Jones kept getting worse and worse and worse.
And now he's so talented. I don't know if you
saw a couple he made a catch in the game
where he mag three guys miss and then ran from
our ten yards and he's always open. They just cannot
get him the ball. I can't start him because he
just doesn't get the ball.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
That stinks, It sucks. So yes, that's where we're at.
You know, we'll see what happens between me and you,
and then.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
We've never played each other in the playoffs, right have we?
Speaker 1 (08:55):
I think we have before, but it's been a long time,
long time, so we'll see what happens in that. Let's
get to the questions. You can hit us up on
X at the show thor at the show Eddie, or
you can email us your questions every week and we'll
try to answer me. And this is important because they're
playoff questions. First question says, I'm in the playoffs in
two leagues and I have two questions for you. Number
(09:16):
one is quarterback. Who do I go with? C J.
Stroud or Tua? Tua has been playing better last couple weeks,
but they play each other this week.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Yeah, I'd go with Tua because I think the Texans
defense isn't as good as a Dolphins defense. Though Aaron
Rodgers just threw for three hundred and DeVante's Adams and
Garrett Wilson went for one hundred against the Dolphins, I
still think Tua is finally getting connected with Tyreek Hill,
which sucks for me because I'm playing against Tyreek Hill.
So but I'd go with Tua.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
Yeah. This one, to me is a little bit of
a coin flip. I like CJ now that Nico Collins
is back, because now that Nico's back, CJ's back, so.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
The texts that I buy. Last week in back to
back games, Nico Collins had a seventy yard touchdown call
back and a forty yard.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Touchdown, So that might not happen again, I hope not. Well,
yeah for you, but yeah, I like CJ in that one.
His second question is A running back question, DeAndre Swift
against Minnesota or Tyrone Tracy versus Baltimore.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
I go DeAndre Swift. Here's why I.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Hate both of these.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
By the way, I hate both of them too. The
Ravens can't stop the pass, the Giants can't pass, the
Ravens can stop the run, and the Giants are gonna
They're gonna get crushed. I mean right, Am I crazy
to think they're not gonna get destroyed in this game?
Speaker 1 (10:25):
You who knows? I mean honestly, so, yeah, but you
never know. While we're putting together our starts and sits,
I was really debating between these two guys. So sorry
this is your question, but I guess if I had
to pick one, I guess i'd go as Swift.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
They're both, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Yeah's a rough one.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
And it sucks because Tracy is not bad. It's just
the state.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
Yeah. Quarterback Another quarterback question, who do you start first
round of the playoffs? Do I go with Kyler Murray
against New England or C J. Stroud versus Miami.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
I know Kyler Murray hasn't been great. I have him,
and after last week, I was like, I'm done with
this guy. He's playing the Patriots. It's in Arizona, which
is a big deal. I'm starting Kyler Murray because he's
he's he. I just I believed in him all year.
He's gonna come out of this.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
We gotta go with you, guys.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
You gotta go with your guy. He's he's gonna run
for yards. I think, I just this is this is
it for Kyle.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
To me, this is a boom or bust situation. Either
Kyler is gonna have one of those games where he's
gonna rush for maybe a couple of touchdowns and things
like that, throw for one where he could have a
good game against New England, or he's gonna continue this
downward trend which could happen. I actually smell a little
bit of an upset here with New England. Maybe Arizona
(11:40):
doesn't mean that Kyler won't have I'm just picking maybe
New England in the game. So if you want to
play it safe, I think go with Stroud. But if
you want to take a gamble, and this is where
we're at in playoffs, I think Kyler has a better
chance to have like a big game. So you know,
it's just whether what you want to gamble or not.
Next question, standard league flex position. Do I go with
(12:02):
Courtland Sutton or Brian Robinson Junior?
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Oh, Brian Robinson Junior. This Saints team, I think the
Saints they played off against the Giants. I think the
Saints team are I know they they lost Derek Carr.
I think they're broken to the point where, like mentally,
where they're just they know it's over.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
I don't even know who that quarterback.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
I don't know what it is either. I'm starting Brian
Robinson Junior. He's a really good running back. I'm honestly
surprised you wouldn't just start Brian Robinson Junior at this point.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Yes, I get it because Sutton's been having good games lately. Yeah,
maybe that's why. But he's the.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Number one Eckler's out.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Yeah, no, I understand. This is another question, says in
our first week of playoffs, who do you both think
I should start? Who is the better start T Higgins
versus Tennessee or Courtland sun Dion Sutton versus Indiana. It's
PPR league, So.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
T Higgins had a bad game on Sunday, didn't It
was all Jamar Chase and Joe Burrow after the game,
Joe Burrow came out and said he expects the Bengals
to sign t Higgins, which is a wild thing to say.
I think Burrow is gonna make a point. He could
tea his his receptions and his money on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Does it also play a part that you have Ta
Higgins want that to happen? I mean, I don't think,
because if I'm looking at it on paper, sudden is
the start, because you know he's been doing really well.
Bo Nix's plan outstanding. He's the main guy there. He
doesn't have a Jamar Chase who's gonna steal.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
Give me the tea?
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Excuse me, give me the tea. I mean again, I
have I have no dog in the fight. So this
is me just saying, okay, I can't make sense. All right,
let's get to our starts and sits for the week.
At quarterback, who do you like?
Speaker 2 (13:38):
I'm going with Kyler Murray. I said it. I said,
why do you just pick.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Your guys every week? That's all I don't do, That's
all you do.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
I'm going Kyler Murray. I know he's been having a
rough couple of weeks. This is the week he busts
out against the Patriots.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
This was kind of hoping if this kind of I'm
kind of hoping this was well my start. I just
mentioned him, bow Nix, Let's keep the bow train going.
Man Knicks has been unbelievable. You never know when he's
gonna run in for a touchdown, and he's throwing touchdowns
taking on Indianapolis. He doesn't have the greatest defense, The
Colts aren't that great, So I'm gonna go with bo
Nicks on that one. Who's your shiit?
Speaker 2 (14:10):
I love this guy this year, but I cannot start him.
Baker Mayfield Chargers d is too good. Baker throws a
lot of picks right now. If they weren't playing the Chargers,
I'd start him, but they are so No Baker.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Uh, this is the first time I think I'm gonna
agree with you today. The Bakman the Bay is not
the start this week. Yeah, you're gonna try and avoid him,
and he has had he has had a good season. Yeah,
I mean he's in fantasy wise, he's been really good,
but not not this week. No, I'm not seeing it.
Running back, Who's your start?
Speaker 2 (14:38):
My start is a guy that screws you over. I
think you said it to start the year that you
thought Starberne was better than walking.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Back to bite me and came back to bite you
and my sleep got pick this year at the beginning
of the season was Zach Scharbaday. It took the week fifteen,
but it's finally happened.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
Walker was good, Walker was good, got hurt, came back,
was really good, and then just been a turd again.
And Sharpernay is clearly better than him right now. So
even if Walker's not hurt, you gotta start Sharponay. If
you're the Seahawks, he's better than Walker.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Sucks. I'm starting sharpenw I hate that my start this
week is a guy I almost picked as my start
last week and he had a good game, but this
week I really like him. I'm talking about Tony Pollard.
Tony Pollard taking on Cincinnati. That defense is a sieve. Yeah,
I mean, they are just absolutely terrible, and I'm surprised
they got that win over Dallas. It did take a
(15:30):
couple of wacky things for them to win that game.
But I think Pollard has a big game against Cincinnati.
Who's your sit.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
You're gonna hate this. I know you're not going to
agree with me. Oh sit, sorry, I thought we were
going to start Tyron Tracy. You sorry.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
It was a coin flip. It was a coin between
who DeAndre Swift and Tyron Tracy.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
So yeah, Tyron Tracy, you gotta bench him. I'm benching
all the Giants. They're gonna get railroaded in this game.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
Well then I'm gonna go the other way. I'll take
DeAndre Swift. I just don't think. I'm almost wondering if
the Bears are gonna win a game the rest of
the season. I don't know if they will.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
They only for some reason, they only come alive in
the second half, because even against the Niners they didn't
make it close, but they scored a couple of touchdowns
in the second half.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Yeah, wide receiver, who's your start?
Speaker 2 (16:11):
This is what I mean. You're not gonna like because
you're not gonna agree with me. Adam Feeling since he
came back has had ninety nine yards and one hundred
yards and a touchdown. Him and Bryce Young have a connection.
I'm starting Adam Feeling this week. The Cowboys lost, They're done.
They got the Davante over shown just got hurt. He's
maybe because career may be over. They're saying, like a
crazy knee injury feeling's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Pack That's right, it's a ridiculous pick my start this week.
You know, you gotta look at the Falcons and right
now they are a bit of a dumpster fire. But
I think they may come alive this week get a win.
Drake London is gonna play a big part of the
against the Raiders. So I think Drake London helps the
Falcons get back on track this week taking on the Raiders.
Who's your sit?
Speaker 2 (16:52):
Tyler Lockett? I think it's just over for him in Seattle.
It's weird Jackson the jig buzz. He's the best receiver
they have.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
He had a couple of good games and then he's
just gone. I don't know what's going on.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Even DK is not having a great year.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
It's all about J s n Wait.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
So I would sit Eiler Lockdown.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
My sit this week. Again, you heard all the grumblings
that have happened with the Eagles. I'm not gonna sit
a J. Brown because you knows, most people will probably
be like, you know, oh, clearly, I actually think I
may feed I think he may feed AJ Bondle, the
other guy is gonna be the one that gets screwed
over Davante Smith. So I actually think Davonte Smith would
(17:30):
be the guy that I'm sitting. And Pittsburgh has got
a great defense, so uh, he's the guy I'm sitting,
tight end. Who's your start?
Speaker 2 (17:35):
David and Joku Browns are gonna win this game, and
they're gonna win against the Chiefs, and they're gonna win
against this game against the Chiefs because of Njoku.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
No, we're not booking anything that's only for the morning
at My start this week is a guy you've mentioned
a couple of times. He's probably the guy that's been
dropped and picked up more times than anybody. I'm talking
about tight end, Hunter Henry, because again, Hunter Henry is
a guy that will show up for a couple of
games and they just appear and then.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
So me and Drake may have a little connection.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
They're good. And again I'm calling maybe a possible upset
here with the Patriots over Arizona. So I'm liking Hunter
Henry this week. Who's your sit?
Speaker 2 (18:15):
My sit is a guy that just he played a
couple of games well, but he's just not He's just
I don't know, what's going on with Cincinnati Mike Siki.
I'm not starting him. You may see, oh Makasiki's available
starting this week. I wouldn't against the Tights have a
sneaky good defense, I wouldn't start him my sit this week.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
We mentioned it earlier. The Saints, I don't know what
they're gonna do as far as offense goes. You see
Juwan Johnson, he's had a couple of good games, but yeah,
that's done. I think the Commanders are are a pretty
good defense, and I think they're gonna come. They're gonna
wipe the floor with the Saints. So I'm not starting
him at all. So there you go. It is playoff time, baby,
(18:51):
So everybody pulled for me over thoor and we'll see
you next week and hopefully you go out there and
get a win.
