our next guest hanging out with usin studio. He is performing at the
American Comedy Company this weekend. Acouple of shows tonight, a couple of
shows tomorrow night. Ian Finances backin San Diego is going Ian, Welcome

(00:22):
back, my friend. He's breakingdown stats in here. He's ready to
go. I just think if ourguys get the good yardage and stay in
the pocket, man, we don'twant anything off side to get into the
yard line is where we're One ofmy favorite things that you do. I

(00:46):
watched a lot of clips. Youknow, I knew you were coming in.
Is you like to point out whatyou look like when you first get
on stage, Like you'll say,I look like a camp counselor all.
This Garfield shirt that you're rocking thismorning is incredible. Thank you. Where
does one find a Garfield show?I'm happy. I can't say exactly what
it says. Creep Records is arecord label outside of Philadelphia. You know

(01:15):
That's where I'm from. And uhI I love music. I'm a big
music guy. They're they're a dii y independent label, a lot of
punk rock. I grew up listeningto the label. It's awesome. Okay.
I was in Philly. I wentto the store, got the shirt.
I just like getting stuff that Ilike, and they ended up hitting
me up and they're like, ohmy god, we're fans. We'd love

(01:37):
to send you a box of stuff. I'm like, that's so cool,
that's awesome. Are they allowed touse Garfield that sort of? Yeah?
I sort of like Clinton in themilitary with gay Man in the nine.
I'm not gonna ask, We're notgonna tell. Okay, We're gonna do
a lot of stuff behind the scenes. So if you you know, you're

(01:57):
a music guy, what is yourlike go to genre? What do you
like or are you just like everything? Oh? Man, I'm a big
hardcore punk rock guy. Okay.Man. I grew up going to shows.
I was in a SKA band.Stuff. I wear a ring that
says Scott Yeah yeah women. Yeah, I still go to shows. Man,

(02:21):
I'm thirty nine. I'm still stagediving, you know, getting in
the kids, swinging my fists.Oh yeah, Now what level are we
talking? Are we like a pennyWise, like, where are we at
Penny Wise? No effects? Guy? You know there's a dude I love
Pepper. Yeah, dude, GibbyHaynes is incredible. I heard a story

(02:46):
about ninety four you would just takeacid and go out on stage and point
of shock to everyone if you comeout to American Comedy Company. That's my
closer. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. One of my
favorite stories of all time. Weused to have a thing here in San
Diego called Street Scene, and theywould literally be downtown and they'd close off

(03:08):
all the streets and they would dodifferent stages and different bands would play,
and it was it was awesome backin the day. You know. They
had me bring out some different bands, and one of the times I brought
out Sublime. It was one ofthe coolest ones because I was a big
fan. But then for some reason, something happened and they started a riot
where they where they were picking upgarbage cans and throwing it at the audience

(03:30):
because the audience threw something on stageor something and they didn't like it,
and they started a whole Riot's realunderstanding right there, like watching this go
down. It was one of thecrazy I always knew fred Durst was not
original. No, I stole thatfrom Yes, that's what kicked off Woodstock.
Yeah, that's awesome. BlimE isgreat. Man. They got their

(03:53):
start just playing house parties and theywould go house fared house party and they
build up such a following that that'show they got like huge. Well,
it's crazy. Last year he hadBradley's son Whoa, and he sang a
Sublime song live on our show.Oh my god. It was one of
the coolest things I've ever been apart of. And now he's going to
start touring with the remaining members ofSupport together. I love that. It's

(04:20):
almost creepy. That was such anunfair shake with them. Man, with
him past the pot, I know, you know, that's so cool to
hear, and what a beautiful thingfor him to carry on that. I
love I love it. I thinkit's one of the cooler stories. Now
you have a whole podcast right whereyou talking about music and things like that.
Yeah. Yeah, it's called Beand Ian with Jordan's It's me and

(04:43):
my best friend Jordan Jensen. She'sso such a funny comic and we're both
very sick in the head and hereshe was. Yeah, Okay, Yeah,
did she do radio in the morning. She was like almost sold out,
so she's like, I'm good.Yeah, shes mornings And that is
a huge issue with the podcast.Ye Garfield, Yeah she does. If

(05:13):
it's on my plate, she'll eatit. So does she asked before she
takes something off your plate? Oryou guys tight enough where she can just
grab something off your plate. That'sassuming she's polite. She just grabs it
runs like a little red now.Man, she's the best. We have
so much fun together and it's likeWayne's World meets Pee Wee's Playhouse. We

(05:33):
try to have a feel of likeyou're just I mean, it's it's literally
in my basement. I build apodcast studio in my basement. It's all
like old wood paneling and records onthe wall and like all this like knickknacks
and stuff. And we just wantto make it feel like you're hanging with
your friends in the basement in highschool when your parents aren't in town.

(05:54):
Nice. Yeah, So what doyou mainly talk music or do you talk
about now? Just anything? Okay, we have a tay that's fun.
It's so funny because we have hardcorebands on and they're it's it's great to
see these dudes, and like, you know, because bands of musicians and
comics are very like, you know, we're traveling, we're like always moving

(06:15):
around. Carnival says yeah, yeah, really, and so you know,
it's funny, man, because I'vebeen, uh, I've the bands that
I'm into have become into me.So when they're like on the bus,
they're all listening to my podcast. And then when I'm like in the car
or on the plane, I'm listeningto Yeah. And so then we all
hang out and it's really cool andit's so funny, like you know,

(06:40):
these guys come on the show andthey're like these you know, like singing
like and then we taste them, they're like, no, stop, was
there is there a particular band thatyou were kind of surprised that we're fans
of yours? That oh man reachedsurprising people were fans of mine? Okay,
I just you know, wait, what wrong with you? I love

(07:01):
it though, it's amazing. Ilove meeting people. I love hanging out.
I do meet and greets at theend of the show, and I
love talking to people whatever gets meaway from being in my own head because
that's where I'm like, everyone hatesyou and it's only a matter of time
before they figure it out. Idid hear a particular band reached out?
Hinder? Oh yeah, Hinder?Yeah? Where does that? So random?

(07:27):
It was the best so I've beenI brought this this guy along with
me, Danny. He is amedia company called dog Pound Media. It's
like, uh, he's very involvedin like you know, like ARCore rock
and doll music and uh he's anold like VHS cam quarter. So he's
been taping my shows with that andthen you know, like we we hang
out and he just films it.So he's been making these like videos of

(07:51):
like jokes of mine mixing with justlike hanging and going around, you know,
and uh, at the end ofit, I always put a song
and I really love like Hinder, like Disturbed or Corn or whatever, and
so at the end of the videowe always pop a song on. And
today I posted this happened just today? Oh really Yeah. At the end

(08:11):
of the video, we played lipsof an angel and I tagged Hinder and
they reach out. We're huge fansand they like share the videos like I
love you guys, So you justsing your songs a karaoke Yeah, yeah,
you would nail the song. You'rea guy. I love any song
that I can give up, andthis is like a great hook your leg

(08:35):
up go to karaoke is winning likeback in the eighties when you'd call for
the guitar, come on, guitar, Yeah, the name of the guitar,
like go see see. Yeah,That's what I'm gonna do tonight.
I had a punch one and belike, punchline yourself. Yeah. Check

(08:56):
out the video. It's it's onmy Instagram. Iye Animal six nine.
Uh, it's it did all thesecomics. It's just like reels and crowd
work and clips and I and Ihate it because I'm funnier than them.
But I hate putting myself out therebecause then I'll like be like like I
oscillate between thinking I'm God and I'mthe worst human ever, you know,

(09:16):
So I'll put something out of thedifference, like this is I am a
genius like you know, like thirtyfour views and I'm like, I'm gonna
myself. So I'm just trying somethingnew and putting these things together, and
uh, I'm enjoying it so muchmore. I love music and putting that
in there and just like being likesilly and fun strange, Like last time

(09:37):
I went to the Double Down andI wrote I did the Bull, but
there was no one in there,so I was just by my said,
yeah, we got that on tape, and I'm like on there like he
zoomed out. It's an empty room. Do the sexy type where it's kind
of got into it for a minute, but well the woman doing the bowl

(10:00):
kind of realized it was like wehave to put a stop to ye.
Yeah, I think she was tooattracted to me. Listen, you gotta
go see you and perform at theAmerican Comedy Company this weekend. A couple
of shows tonight, a couple ofshows tonight tomorrow night. Good see and
thanks for coming in my favorite.Thank you so much for having man have
fun watching that Super Bowl. Yeahgo Niners? Yeah I know. Do

(10:30):
