Speaker 1 (00:01):
That's green day on the show and dropping off five serie.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Leslie, Yeah, I'm already big fan, is.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Freaking fan of me. You'll tell the crowd why that's
interesting interesting.

Speaker 4 (00:14):
I was just backing, it's weird that you're too much
of an ally.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
That's actually fair, such a thing.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Say frea comedy Friday, we were very excited to have
Bill Great Leslie lew Is in studio with this for her.
She's performing at the American Comedy Company this weekend, a
couple of shows tonight, a couple of shows tomorrow night.
And we were chatting off the air here and she's
very fascinated with why we're so awake this morning, and
we were talking about our nap schedules and things like that,

(00:43):
and I mentioned to you that we it's weird because
we all like watching TV at night, so it's hard
to go to bed and all that stuff. And we
were asking you what shows do you like to watch
and you said you didn't have cable, which is interesting,
and we love certain reality shows like The Bachelor, and
that's what caused this whole big stir.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Yes, you have this whole big argument.

Speaker 5 (01:07):
I was supporting you're an ally.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
I mean I just admitted I'm behind on Bachelor. I
love it. I watch I love Bachelor in Paradise, do
you guys love I mean, it's it's the best one,
Like I I watched that one. Whether or not I
know the castle.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Yeah, you don't really need to. And they get the
scummiest of the scum. These are real human beings.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
But okay, in like two days and then they bring
in somebody that the person was really that for just
to break people's hearts.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Yeah, it's great, it's lovely. It's a lovely program. So
I tend to watch that. But then I'm for some reason,
I'm behind on Bachelor. And I did admit, and in
a moment of vulnerability, I was, okay, I told you
all that I didn't watch the Asian Bachelor, which which
is just which and for the listeners, I'm Asian. Watch again,

(01:59):
I'm not a moment of vulnerability. And then you screamed
something like I love Asian, did.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
You not not?

Speaker 1 (02:17):
I obviously am a big fan of Asians. Yes, And
I said saying yes, which I thought was supportive.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Well, you kind of shouted it. You kind of shouted it.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I was too aggressive.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Well, I mean that is a thing. I think people
can be too to supportive of Asians. I had one
show last night at the at the Club in San Diego,
and a very nice man came up at the end
of the show and and you guys, I think you
you want to say, you guys like men, You guys
mean well, like you meet like you're well intentioned, right,

(02:52):
you want to compliment and say something nice, But half
the time it comes the backhanded comes out. Yeah, like
I of Asians. I'm like, all right, calm down. It's
literally eight a m. I woke up like eleven minutes ago.
He was very honest, you know what I mean. And
I have you guys shouting at me.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
I'm like the.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Station is this is weird. I'm like and I just
like it's you have to know how disorienting my life is.
Like I wake up, I wake up, and I walk.
I go into a stranger's car just you know what
I mean. I'm just like, okay, and I go into
a stagers car. They drive me to an undisclosed location.
I don't know that this is a radio stations rush.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
And I'm like, I just across the border. I get it.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Yeah, that was a lot. Now I can't tell you
this Thor has two nephews who are Asian Chinese American's exciting.
My sister, my brother in law is Chinese. I was
born in China and came over here and he was
like two. So my sister and this dashing Ethan and I.

(04:01):
But I bet they're the cutest. I mean I know
that they're the cutest.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
They are are they? They honestly are. My brother in law.
My brother in law had my nephew.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Doing math problems in like first grade at the breakfast table.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Well that's when they learned math, right, breakfast table not
I mean, you gotta menion like that. Yeah, I'm like,
there's levels of math. So what did the for explaining
math to me? Wow? What another offensive? Explaining how mask
was sorry?

Speaker 5 (04:37):
So what is the guy that's like Eddie Sadie?

Speaker 3 (04:43):
That guy? Thank you for reminding me. He came up
at the very end because I stayed around into pictures
and met people, and then he said something like one
of the first things he said was you don't need
to wear makeup, you know. I was like, all right, great,
this is gonna go great. And here's the thing, like
I I accept I accept most compliments. But he was like,

(05:04):
he's like, your skin's great, you know. But then it's
like when when we compliment each other's skin, like for
women it's cuter, y, it's nicer. Yeah, hey, Leslie, your
skin is great. What do you use? Yeah, it's it's
more it's a safe space. What is wrong when?

Speaker 2 (05:23):
He when?

Speaker 3 (05:23):
When when when a man you've never met goes up
to you alone and goes, I like your skin, you
know what I mean? Yeah, and look like he was
awesome and came had a great time. But like he
also said, he goes, trust me, I know Asian skin.
And I start looking around for my friends, like someone

(05:44):
hold my hand, Like why am I alone with this
man talking about you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Yes, And then he's and I said, oh, that's a
cool thing to say to me. I know Asian skin.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
I don't know what.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
And then and then he said something similar to what
you just said, which is what he goes, I have
met any Asian children, and.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
I know what?

Speaker 3 (06:03):
And then he starts listing different Asians. He goes, I
have a Filipino child, I have a Japanese child. And
I'm like, huh, this is and I'm looking at it like,
there's no security at the club. No one cares about
my safety being at this club. Does anyone care that
I'm you know, being talked about Asians.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
It's a little word, so definitely weird.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
I love the club, but I don't know if there's security.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
They're good people. It's America.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
They were looking at their truly. It's a great club. Yeah,
it's a great club.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
That's a couple of things. First of all, I know
you have a Netflix special which I which blew up
that thing did really yeah, which is cool. So yeah,
people can come see if they if they watched that.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
It's on Netflix. I hesitate to call it a special
because it's a it's a ten minute set, but.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
That's still but it's on Netflix. That's a big deal.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
Yeah you have Netflix.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
I do have.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
That's cool. Yeah, well you can search for it.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
I'm going to what's it called.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
It's called Verified stand Up. It's like a bunch of
different comics. Yes, so what it is. It's a ten
comics total, including me. So it's like a really fun
sexy lineup and everyone did about ten minutes. I will admit,
oh my, I've never admitted this public.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Hoh.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
You know, I sometimes search my name on different platforms,
which is something I'm sure that's very healthy activity.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
So I searched my name on Netflix because once a
special came out. And you know how when you search
something on Netflix, if what you're looking for isn't there,
if you're looking for like they don't have Bachelor in
if you search it, it'll come up with too hot
to handle. Similar So when I searched my name on Netflix,

(07:50):
I think, like anything Asian comes up, like just Asian stuff,
you know. Yeah, yeah, but are you gonna start it
right now? You know? And obviously like Ali Wong comes up.
I would love that, like that, that's that is the
right idea. She's like, I'm not queens.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
I know.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Maybe it's like a chef's table.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Yeah yeah, Square.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Games and along is like, if you like Leslie Belle's comedy,
you might like this horrifying, enthralling Korean drama about death
and destruction.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
I did just google you because you worked at Netflix
in HR and then left. That's pretty wild on Netflix. Yeah,
that's pretty wild. Yeah, it's crazy. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
I had a I had like this really specific job
in hr A Netflix, and the entire time I worked
at Netflix. I did stand up. Did they know?

Speaker 5 (08:59):
Like when you started?

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Some people did. It's like I didn't. I didn't keep
it a total secret, but I didn't tell anyone.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Can you make jokes in the HR?

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Because I feel like I come in with I don't.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Know that you can make those cute little work jokes.
Can't see the safe little you know, case of the Monday.
Oh that's yeah, yeah, you know, but but.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
You can't be making jokes about race and stuff like like.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
You can't do that. To be clear, you shouldn't do
that in any work. You don't know the basic rules.
You're telling me that.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
The other day, when Emily and I were talking about
our weight and Eddie decided to pick each one of
us up to decide who's heavier, you're saying, h my crown.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
I'm gonna say that is like a firebule Ef.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
I can't tell you for a fact that Sky was heavier.
So I feel like he said, why.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Did you need to know this information?

Speaker 2 (10:03):
It was Sky?

Speaker 3 (10:03):
Sky said she was a certain way, and we all
didn't believe her. Thought she was skinny. Okay, that's I
was okay, we thought she was skinny. I thought you guys,
was gonna say that.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
I found.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
Why doesn't someone why don't we pick you up?

Speaker 2 (10:18):
Please?

Speaker 3 (10:18):
Okay, equal equal opportunities.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
And I totally agree. Let me take my shirt off,
all right? You know what gone off the rails?

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Leslie? What a pleasure?

Speaker 3 (10:33):
She doesn't. I don't think it's recipn't think it.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Is not.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
It is not the one thing I'm dying to ask.
I'm dying to ask this though. Did you get free Netflix?
Working out like I'm dying?

Speaker 3 (10:51):
No, Oh my god, it's a common it's a common question.
We did not get free Netflix. It's a it's a
huge company. When I worked there, there was ten thousand
employees globally, right, So, and I think Netflix is big on,
you know, genuinely making sure they have x amount of subscribers,
and that means we have this much money to make

(11:11):
this much content whatever. So I think if they were
to give every employee free Netflix, then it it might
mess with a subsdide. I'm still so this is so
much of a rule follower. I'm still like defending the company.
So I'm so pro corporation and I and I have
a gripe with people that are like, oh, they raise

(11:33):
the price. Again, I'm like, do you know how expensive
it is to make squid Game? And your lazy ass
at home is like I wanted for six dollars, like
get a life? Expensive it is to create these amazing shows.
Like No, you're right, so we didn't get so what
we got? Oh I don't work there anywhere at the time. No,

(11:55):
they did not give it. But we were able to
preview content like let's say Love Island, which is not
Love is Blind. Love is Blind came out. We could
watch it like one month before it was released to
the public, which is cool, but we can't really talk
about it because I don't want to spoil it. And
then there's nobody you could talk about talk about it

(12:16):
with only employees if you wanted it. Yeah. But also
we got free lunch every day, which as an Asian,
I will take that monthly subscription. Beautiful lunch spread like buffet,
every coffee, sparkling water.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
The Asian part.

Speaker 5 (12:29):
I'm not gonna you've learned.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
I learned a lot today, learned company. Today's great having you, Thank.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
You, thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Sorry for being weird. There is a guy that is
running for governor. Speaking of weird, he's running for governor
in a big state and he's gone viral, but not
for good reasons. We're gonna see what has been discovered
about this political candidate that people can't believe. Coming up
next on the show, a rock with a five three
