Speaker 1 (00:00):
I've never really understood this. This goes back to when
I was obviously a little kid. Yeah, I was a
little kid, and I'm sure this probably happened with you
guys too. My mom used to make me really dress
up for Easter. Easter would roll around, you know, I
would have to wear you know, like a button up shirt, slacks,
(00:22):
all that stuff, and then people would come over, and
I never really like, why am I all dressed up
for Easter? I don't really understand it.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
It was always a thing.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Yeah, you kind of have to dress up for Easter, right,
but your.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Catholic like me, and so we would always go to
Easter Sunday church. Yeah, so that might be where it started.
Sure we'd go to church first and then back to
my grandma's.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Maybe, But I never understood the dressing up for Easter.
But then it continued, you know, it continued, you know,
throughout and then if wherever we would go for Easter,
if it was my parents' house or whoever was having Easter,
you kind of had to dress up. And I and
I was always kind of confused by that. And I'm
always like, well, why what's the point, Like, what are
we doing here? That does make it dress the events.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
Yeah, I always thought it was the church goers because
my family not church goers, and so we but we
still dress up because it was like the thing to do.
So even though we're not going to church, we're not
going you dress up. And then when I had my daughter,
I have a bunch of Easter pictures from where she
was little, in these big old dresses with these big.
Speaker 5 (01:21):
Old like hats on.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
And and now that you bring that up, Eddie, why
was I doing that because we were literally just going
to my mom's backyard to look for.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
It is Corny Thor. He's never celebrated Easter, even though
his mom texted him immediately afterwards.
Speaker 6 (01:38):
I mean, she's completely lying.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
We never we never went.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
You never went to get together with the No.
Speaker 7 (01:45):
We we did on Christmas and we had barbecues a
couple of times a year.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
That was it.
Speaker 6 (01:49):
We never celebrated Easter. So I don't care what my
mom says.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
I'd love her to pull out a picture.
Speaker 7 (01:59):
I mean, I mean, it never had never happened. I
give any Listen, my dad is Jewish. There, I'm telling you,
it never happened. I'm telling you, so, Yeah, you always
dress up for Eester.
Speaker 5 (02:11):
Yeah, of course.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
And I got to the point where a few years
ago it just doesn't make any sense. So maybe we
were hosting Easter that day when I just finally decided,
I don't understand why I'm wearing pants. I don't ever
wear pants. I never wear pants, or maybe something nice,
like a nice outfit, and I go, why am I
(02:32):
doing that? What's the point? I don't really get it.
There's no reason I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going
to church, so I don't I don't know why I'm
dressing up. So I just wore what I would normally wear.
And I remember back then it got some looks, you know,
of like oh this guy, and I what's up? What's
going on with this guy? And I was like, all
right whatever, And then from that point on, I've decided
(02:54):
I don't care. I'm not dressing up for Eester. It's
not a thing anymore. But I may have gone a
little too far this past Sunday. My mom really wanted
to have Easter this year because I think she knew
that I wasn't going to do any straight hunt with
my kids are fifteen and thirteen, like it's done, and
so she really wanted them to still have an Eastraight hunt.
So I think that's why she really wanted to have
(03:15):
Easter this year, because I wasn't going to do it.
I was not happening, and so she wanted to do Easter.
And I'm like, yeah, that's fine, save me the hassle,
Sure we'll come over. So I went a little overboard
with my casualness, I think, Eddie. On the weekends, I
pretty much live in basketball shorts, like gym shorts, you know,
(03:38):
they're They're super comfortable for me. I'm not doing anything
usually except for you know, Little League and stuff like that,
which I wear those most of the time when I'm coaching.
And then I'll have just like my random shirts, you know,
my graphic teat So I was like, well, this is
what I'm wearing on the weekend basketball. I rolled into
my parents and I had on a pair of basketball
(04:01):
shorts and a Millennium Falcon T shirt for Easter. I
didn't think anything of it. Wow, And I walked in
and my mom, Yeah, who's a very proper lady, you
know who you know sets the table, you know, like
still with this stuff.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
It was a little much like some Easter buddies.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Can't come on, what are we doing name tags when
there's there's four of us? Huh, tell me what to sit?
Speaker 3 (04:28):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
I mean tell my sister so stupid. Anyway, Uh So
I come rolling into my basketball shorts and she looked
at me and was like, oh, is that your Easter best?
And then yeah it is? I mean what, I don't
understand what?
Speaker 5 (04:45):
And how's your family dressed? How's the wife, how's the kids?
How are they dressed?
Speaker 1 (04:49):
So my son is taking after me where he lives
in shorts. He doesn't rarely wear pants anymore. Wow. Debra
used to make him wear pants for Easter and things
like that. But this time he wore his nice shorts
and then had on a like blue pastel colored solid
(05:10):
which I thought he looked great. I was like, solid,
solid work kid, Yeah, not sneakers, right, yeah, of course of.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
Course, yeah you have pastel on.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
It kind of worked, It kind of works. But he
still wore shorts. So I was like, hey, look at
that guy, like, what the hell? Why what is he
allowed to do?
Speaker 3 (05:24):
That?
Speaker 5 (05:24):
Got pastel on? He passes, he's in.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Uh. My daughter is sort of now, you know, she's
very into fashion and things like that. So she was
wearing a cute, litt outfit. And then my my wife
Deborah had on like a flowery blouse. You know, he
trying to impress, trying to impress Easter Bunny. Okay, like whatever. So, yeah,
(05:47):
they were and everyone was dressed up, but me, I'm
walking around. He to an extent, I mean, you know,
I mean he doesn't put effort into anything anymore, you know,
to an extent he was, and so but I was
clearly the most underdressed. But I don't understand. I don't care.
Why are we dressing up for Easter? What's the point
(06:10):
if we're just going over. I'm just going to my
parents' house. Why is this a fancy event?
Speaker 4 (06:14):
Do you wear something nice for Thanksgiving?
Speaker 5 (06:17):
For when you have your Thanksgiving meal? Noka?
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Really, well, we haven't had a Thanksgiving Christmas, absolutely not.
That's my day.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
You're coming to your house for dinner like your parents
every time, and then you're still I have.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
A lot of family comes over, like like my wife's
family all didn't come over. I will wear what I
wear on the weekends. It's chilling, man, that's my day,
my day. I am enjoying it. Football now I'm opening
the presence. I'm having the greatest day of my life.
Speaker 6 (06:46):
Listen, why are we shocked? This is a man that
wore jeans to a funeral.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Well, that was dressing up. That was dressing up, and
he was helping carry the cast. I got tagged to
be a pall there, I got tagged it. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (07:01):
That then I regretted that were they even? Were they
Levi's or wranglers. I'm a Levi's man.
Speaker 6 (07:11):
Levi's.
Speaker 7 (07:11):
Levi's are nicer jeans. If you get like the Levi store,
there are knockoff Levi's. You gotta get the nicer Levi's. Great, Okay,
were they dark? Were they blue jeans or dark jeans?
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Not good denimw This was.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
A while ago, trendy jeans that are gonna style now?
Speaker 2 (07:31):
I mean this is like the nineties, right.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
No, No, this was like.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
Really, I don't know.
Speaker 7 (07:39):
So I'm not stunned by this because Eddie wants to
make it where what you Eddie wants to make it where,
no matter what it is. He can wear shorts and
a T shirt and I respect it. You get a
certain age.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
I don't care.
Speaker 7 (07:52):
Why would you care, Scott, I'm shoshed. But I'm also
but but but Sky, as you know, we could tell
you dress for comfort, so anyone anyone should have his back.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
If anyone should have his back, cares what people think, though,
does she though?
Speaker 6 (08:07):
Because look at what she's wearing.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
It went not us, not us. There's other people in
the building though. But she wouldn't show up to like
a neighborhood thing dress like that.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
So Easter, I was invited to a neighborhood thing. So yes,
I did ditch my family and.
Speaker 6 (08:22):
Go by yourself.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
Yeah, I know the booths on lockdown. I got a
his face burnt off. And my daughter had had a
late night the night before. She was at Disneyland all night,
so she was she wasn't she was a mess, so
just lock her down. So I went by myself and
I wore a little sundressed to your your point, glorally, Uh.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
I can't see dress.
Speaker 6 (08:46):
I can't imagine Sky wearing a sundress.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
Well it's a Maxi dress.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
I should like you've seen him in Hawaiian and stuff.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
Yeah, okay, so I wear and I'm worried I.
Speaker 6 (08:59):
Can't image just see Sky's leg.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
Am I gonna be overdressed? Because it's just you know,
but it's Eastern.
Speaker 6 (09:06):
I'd be more worried.
Speaker 7 (09:07):
You're going by yourself, Okay, most most people are gonna
be like, oh, where's just you? And then everyone's murmurings.
By yourself? Yeah, one hundred percent. Trouble is he does
he get the kid? He gets the kid.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Definitely not.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Feelings about this because I am one that always dresses
up for your family, every family get together.
Speaker 6 (09:29):
I mean, you dress up for every day if you can,
that's correct.
Speaker 7 (09:33):
I would you do mail it and sometimes with hat,
but for the most part dress up like a like
a ball Cali.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Yeah, yeah, that's true.
Speaker 6 (09:40):
Not one her, you know, the other hats under I
wore one of.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
My undertaker hats to Easter this past weekend.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Do you use that as your past job?
Speaker 2 (09:48):
I did.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Indeed, I did take it out and use it for
a couple of eggs. But I did do something for
the first time this time around. I didn't force my son,
who's fourteen, to dress up fans. In the past, I've
said always only has to be pants or nice shorts
and a polo. Like my shorts and a polo would
be fine with me because it was hot on but
(10:10):
what he wore some oversized jeorts.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
George, Oh yeah, are georts in?
Speaker 6 (10:23):
Are georts in?
Speaker 1 (10:25):
So ugly? Style?
Speaker 6 (10:26):
Is in right now?
Speaker 7 (10:27):
Crocs, sweats, jorts, all the stuff that you would take
fun of people for now is in.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
You'll go to H and M and the label will
legit say georts on it.
Speaker 6 (10:37):
I can't right, And I.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Think he just wore it with some sort of a
T shirt, like a white T.
Speaker 6 (10:42):
Shirts, keys out, his keys out.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
He had his keys on. He's a big keys guy.
Speaker 7 (10:47):
He loves dream job, dream job.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
I think they're fake keys, the pretend, but he had
his keys on. So I for the first time.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
You let that happen.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
I let it happen.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Would you your mom, who is like my mom, very proper,
you know, did she look at him like, oh weird.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
She actually didn't say anything to me this time around,
she knows, but one hundred percent she was thinking it.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Yeah, absolutely she was.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
Thinking it because she would make you guys dress up right.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Every single time. I would always dress up.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
And then there was a family photo that my sister
remembered to take and we have my niece Maddie, who's
read's age, wearing a little denim skirt and a nice top,
the same as like your daughter Taylor, and then our
other little one in the family was wearing a suit,
a suit and.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Read is that there in George? So that stands out.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
One hundred percent stood out.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Wow the photo. So respect it. You respect absolutely, respect absolutely.
That's my guy. That's my guy, that's your guy. Do
you man? I love it. Padre's pitching is saving them
right now. Half the lineup is injured, so they need
the pitching to carry them. We're going to see how
pitching was the key and yesterday's game. Next to Sports
(12:00):
Dirt
Speaker 2 (12:03):
And
