Speaker 3 (01:20):
Robi welcome you to the Pike Roade Patriots Stadium for tonight's
broadcast between the Opalaika Bulldogs and the Pike Roade Patriots,
a first ever meeting in school history between these two
teams tonight. Both of these teams come in with some
momentum on their side. The Dogs have won two straight games,
outscoring their opponents one hundred and two to six the
past couple of weeks, big wins against Jack fifty two
to six, Smiths Station, a fifty to nothing win against
(01:42):
the Panthers last week. And then on the flip side,
you've got Pike Rode who's reeled off a couple of
wins a time, went against Watunka seventeen to twelve here
at home and against Percy Julian and the game they
led twenty eight to nothing, but Percy Julian fall back,
had the lead late, but it was the Patriots it
came out on top thirty nine to thirty five. Three
straight wins. So following the road win at Rehobo for
(02:03):
the Patriots. They started off with two tough tests on
the road, though at Prattviell and at Enterprise, coming up
short of both of those games in Pratt BWL of
taik Win thirty seven to forty one loss there and
at Enterprise, and no tough place. We know coach McCracken
very tough to win a game. They've held there twenty
four to six. So Pike rode three and two, four
and one for the Bulldogs tonight, and this Pike Rode
(02:23):
team smaller than Opalanka size wise, school wise tonight, but
they've got a lot on the line tonight and a
big home crowd behind them. This is the first ever
time a seven eight program has visited Pike Roade Stadium here.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
The community's fired up about tonight.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
Also also Van they won the state championship in twenty
twenty one when Jeremiah Cobb was here.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
And they've had some great, great athletes here.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
I don't know whether all of our people know this
or not, but this used to be the home of
a junior high school. Georgia, Washington Junior High School was
right here and Fred Beasley, famous Auburn running back, played here.
And then played for me at Leigh High School, and
there's been a bunch of great athletes to come through here.
(03:07):
And then of course it's Pike Rove now, and hey,
I'm looking forward to a great game. I want to
see us when we get to the Keys, I'll be
wide open.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
But I'm looking forward to this game. Even though it's
it gets a six opponent.
Speaker 5 (03:21):
It's what we would like to call a win when
this is over tonight, and we want to keep.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
This street going.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Calvin Heagley certainly fresh after last week. He was not
asked to a whole lot, just eight carries fifty seven yards,
got a couple of touchdowns. Kolbe Key continues to improve
each week. He threw for one hundred and fifty four
yards and two touchdowns, completing seventy one point four percent
of this passes. Team also got the help of Tommy
Johnson last week, who rushed for twenty three yards and
a couple of stores. Pike Row can contribute much of
(03:50):
their success. They've got a sophomore quarterback, cas And Myers,
who threw for two hundred and eighty four yards and
three touchdowns last week. They've got a good running back
as well, coach to Michael Jones, who's going to carry
the ball a lot for them tonight. We're gonna be
talking a lot about number twenty one. And you got
to have a good run game to have a good
pass game, and they seem to balance themselves out very well.
He rushed for seventy six yards and a pair of
(04:11):
touchdowns last week, so it should be a good one tonight,
Opalanka and Pike Road as both these teams step out
of region play with a little six A seven A
matchup here just outside of Montgomery, here at Pike Road,
we come back with our pregame show presented by Frederick
Dean Funeral Home. We'll get to our visit with head
coach Brian Moore. That's on the way next right here
on the kicker.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Now, it's time for a pregame visit with Opelakah head
football coach Brian Moore, presented by South State Bank. Now
with coach, here's Van Riggs.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Out of region play here tonight at Pike Road, visit
the head coach Brian Moore. Coach, congratulations on two straight wins,
two big wins. I know a lot of players were
able to get in the game and play these past
couple of weeks for you things pick up though, I
know starting here tonight at Pike Rode.
Speaker 6 (04:54):
Yeah, for sure, we kind of knew, you know, in
our season, you know, we'd hope we'd have an opportunity
to play some guys on front nights, and we have,
and we played a bunch of JV as well, So
guys have gotten a ton of rest and we've seen
a lot of progress. But you know, I told the
kids after Friday night's game, you know, the real season
starts now. The back half is is serious and started
the night with Pike Road. Coach Shuk does a great job.
(05:16):
Jonathan Chandler does a great job. So wherever work cut
out for us tonight with.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Your team, I know you've held some guys out. How
is everybody feeling as far as going into this week?
Tyler Moore and some of those guys that's been banged.
Speaker 6 (05:26):
Up, certainly, you know the couple of weeks off, you know,
Tyler still practiced and most everybody, Alan Jackson's been in
the same boat, Ben at Young some of those guys,
but we've held them out of precaution, Darius Whitlow as well,
and we should have all those guys back tonight.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
And of course the homecoming week last week, all the
festivities that went in it. The guys were able to
kind of play a game, enjoy some things, homecoming dance
and all that stuff.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
So I know that was fun for the guys.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
It wasn't. I thought we played well.
Speaker 6 (05:51):
I mean, I thought, you know, as far as the
football game itself, you know, I thought we were really sharp.
We had the one possession on offense, we were driving in
the score and through an interception. Knows that seven seconds
on the clock. We've worked that scenario. It's good to
get it in a game type setting. But yeah, I
mean we were excited about how we played, especially with
all the things that were going on around the game.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
As we move towards this back half of the season,
anything in particular stands out that you want to see
your team sharpen up on.
Speaker 6 (06:16):
I mean, you know, continuing to grow specifically in game
you know, late game scenarios. You know, continuing to understand
that when we've played these back five games, they're all
going to come down to, you know, getting a defensive
stop or making a field goal or having a score
from the plus ten. You know, with ten seconds left
or whatever. So we're repping all that stuff. And that's
the difference. You know, when the margin for era is
(06:37):
so razor thin like it is in our league, you know,
you've got to connect on those plays. You have to
make plays when they're there. And that's what we've worked on,
and you know, I think our kids have taken that
and learned a lot, and it helps when we have
those scenarios come up in games like it did this
past week, to be able to really execute those in
practice a little bit better.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
Continue to rush the ball so good.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
I know, the big guys up front just we're talking
about the offensive line a little bit because they been
paving the way. I know we talked to coach Fleming
earlier this week.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
Yeah, I mean, those guys have really done a great job,
especially the moving parts. You know, I've got eight guys
playing up there. Darius being out for two weeks and
back tonight has allowed Carmel Torbert and Kelan Jones to
play in that position at right guard. But we continue
to mix and match and I've been really pleased with
those guys. And then on top of them, our tight
ends and fullbacks playing four of those guys, and so
(07:23):
we're playing three running backs and Coach landers goal is
really to get in the five by the end of
the year, which will be a great luxury. But proud
of our run game so far, and I think that
our quarterbacks can help there as well. You know, as
we go down the stretch, we'll see more Q runs,
see more RPOs that we've kind of held on to
to be able to find a little bit better balance.
And then lastly, being able to throw the ball over
people's head, you know, and make sure the safety stay
(07:44):
out of the fit.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
I think is huge for our balance.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
Talk about your special teams on their rece Beasley's been
plugging in there for Johnny Cecina, who's still been a
little banged up, and talk about the work he's done.
Speaker 6 (07:54):
You know, we anticipate Johnny being back tonight, but you know,
you just never know up and really until this moment,
you know, right here, up to game time to make
that decision. But Reese has been great. I've been really
pleased with him, and really, you know, he's always been
a great field goal kicker and pat guy, but now
kicking several in the end zone I think makes a
tremendous difference for us. And then the location of his
(08:15):
kickoffs had been really good. And you know, Zion didn't
punt last week. I told him, I said, don't get
used to it. You know, I hope you never pun again,
but unfortunately you're going to have to at some point.
But Zion's done a great job and Cam Rayley and
Brodie Jones holding and so I really like our specialist.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
All right, we'll be back when it was more of
a visit with head coach Brian Moore, as we get
you ready for tonight's matchup against Pike Rod that's coming
up on the way next right here on the kicker
back here from Pike Road, as we get you ready
for kickoff tonight, non region match up here in Pike
Road tonight against the Patriots. And coach I know this
is a great program had been around. I think twenty seventeen.
(08:51):
Twenty eighteen was the first season they kind of started
this school back up and started as a three A school.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
They've blown up.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Now they are six A school and first time I
think going through that this has been a seven A
school that's visited here at the stadium. It's going to
be a packed atmosphere one of their biggest games ever
in school history.
Speaker 6 (09:06):
Yeah, you know, I think that they're trying to challenge
their program, you know, much in the same way that
I experienced in my previous stops. You know, playing seven
a's and trying to raise your level and you know,
raise your opponent level. From a facility standpoint, it'll be
a little bit of a challenge. I know they have
a long term capital playing I'm sure for that. But
you know, Pike Road has been been a team that's
(09:28):
really been good over the past, Wanna State championship recently,
and they have dudes. Man, They've got a great quarterback,
a really good running back again, great coaching there, and
you know they're looking to raise their level and compete.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
In six again.
Speaker 6 (09:41):
I think they were a semi final team a year ago,
and you know, those guys know how to win. But
it'll be a lot of fun and and you know,
their program on the rise for sure.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
I know you're really familiar with their coach, coach Granger
Shuk started his coaching career at Trinity's been here a
couple of years now at Pike Road, and of course
offensive coordinator being Jonathan Chandler. I know aplika folks are
very familiar with them.
Speaker 6 (10:00):
Yeah, a lot of familiarity here. You know, Granger does
a tremendous job. He was at Coqud County as well.
You know for two state championships. I think they were
thirty and oh in his time at coquit So he
knows how to win.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
You know, college.
Speaker 6 (10:11):
Football player, a Huntington guy, another one of that big
tree of coach Turk, and you know, they'll be really
well prepared and they're very well coached.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
And Jonathan does a great job. He was with me.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
I don't remember how many years, but I can remember
him interviewing for the job with coach Blackman. I was
in that and he was my right hand man. We
set up in the box together for a long time,
and you see a lot of that. You know, the
two teams look familiar when it comes to offensive football.
So it'll be like looking in the mirror to a degree.
So it'll be a lot of fun and a big
challenge for us.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
In a game like this on the road against an
opponent like this, with all the hype and all the
crowd into it, do you want to just go in
and maybe just run the football and control this game
early and just kind of, you know, take the momentum
away from them.
Speaker 6 (10:52):
Obviously they're going to be really excited, and you know,
I think they might have started out oh and two
and then won the last several but you know, they
are I have got a lot of momentum, feel like us.
You know, I feel like our team has.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
A lot of momentum as well.
Speaker 6 (11:04):
But yeah, I mean I think I think early in
the game, you know, we obviously want to establish the
ground game, but we want to continue to find that
balance and be able to you know, move the ball
around and give a bunch of different guys touches that
We've got a lot of guys over the last two
weeks that have scored touchdowns and you know, made big
plays in the game and had these explosive plays that
coach McCracken talks about, and hopefully we can continue that
(11:24):
and find that balance again tonight.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
Coach good luck, appreciate the visit and best of luck
on a big win.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
Here at Pike Road.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Thanks Van godogs Head.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
Coach Brian Moore will come back and continue with our
pregame show as we get you ready for tonight's matchup
against Pike ro You're listening to Bulldog football here on
the Kicker.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
You are listening to Opelika High School Football here on
ninety seven point seven Kicker FM. No, it's time for
coach Spence mccrackens. Key's the game presented by Glenn Smith,
Chevrolet GMC and Opelika.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Get ready this mine Region two. All right, mack here,
Pine Crose Stadium. Coach, it's all yours. Well, got to
win the ball game, just like.
Speaker 5 (12:09):
The other wins that we got. Defensively, stopped the run.
Don't let they run the ball real well. They got
a good running back and they've scored. They've they've made
a lot of yards with their run game. We can't
give up any big plays. Now, big play is a
run over ten or a pass over fifteen. If you
(12:30):
watched Auburn University last week, they gave up nine big
plays and that's what got them beat that and turnovers.
We don't we can't give them any big plays. We've
got to stop the third and fourth down conversions.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
And again.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
You only have you usually have seven or eight big plays.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
We can't give them any big plays.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
And it's a momentum thing and then no stupid penalties
on defense, pass interference, things like that. The offensive deals.
We have to be able to run the ball tonight.
Hugely's got to run the ball. Good Waits has got
to run the ball. They've got to have a good
running game to win this football game. They can't turn
(13:16):
the ball over. Five turnovers last week for you know who.
I'm not going to bring them up again. But you
cannot turn the football over tonight. And we've done a
good job with turnovers. We got to make big plays
ten fifteen. We didn't in the Auburn game, the only
(13:36):
one we lost. We only had three big plays. Auburn
had nine. We've got to make big plays and the
quarterback cannot make any mistakes big. Our quarterback's been really good.
He's getting better and better at each game. And basically
the special teams, and I believe this, no penalties, stay
(13:58):
away from penalties. Make sure that we never tonight get
past the thirty yard line. We want to make sure
we get past the thirty yard line on kickoff returns,
and when we defend kickoff returns, our opponents don't need
(14:18):
to get past the twenty. Our young sophomore kicker has
really done a good job with that.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
And you know what, man, that's about it. We need
a win tonight.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
This is gonna be a tough game against a very
very good six A opponent.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
All right, thanks so much. That's coach Mince McCracken's Keys
to the Game, brought to each week by find folks
at Glensmith Chevy GMC and Opeaika. Get ready to smile.
We'll continue with our free game show presented by Frederick
Dean Funeral Home. We are coming to you from the
Orthopedic Clinics Broadcast booth and we're high attop the press
box here on the home side of Patriots Stadium. Tonight
remember Orthopedic Clinic, East Alabama's go to center for orthopedic
(14:57):
care two locations eighteen hundred Lake Signs Circle in Auburn
and eighteen Medical Arts Center. That's North twentieth Street at Oplaika.
We'll continue with our pregame show a bit later on.
We'll also have our coin toss in just a bit.
You're listening to Bulldog football here on the Kicker Aslanthro
(15:27):
performed by the Patriot Van here at Pike Roads Stadium
here campus of Pike Road High School. Van Riggs alongsign
and coach Spence McCracken as we get ready for tonight's
matchup between OP Polaika and Pike Road. Some interesting notes
about this game. Pike Road now in six A Region two,
our former region over in six A coach McCracken and
(15:48):
Case ANDD Myers. We mentioned their quarterback he's thrown over
two hundred and eighty four yards and three touchdowns and
Rushford seventy six and two scores last week, a dominant
performance that gave him a career high in rushing yards.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
There running back that is.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
And their running back we mentioned coach Tomichael Jones five eleven,
two hundred and five pounds junior, and he's a good
one to go along Calvin Hugley, of course, who has
done a lot fifty eight carries five hundred and fifty
nine yards, Calvin averaging nine point six yards of carry
along a sixty eight six touchdowns also on the season. Coach,
you got a running back like that. If you can't
(16:23):
stop him, it's a bad sign.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
I know.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
Coach Moore is gonna want to come out early. And
I bet we get a heavy dose of Calvin Hugley.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Yeah, I bet we do too.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
And then defensively, you bring up that quarterback and you
remember this, fan and all you fans remember this. If
you're playing against a very good quarterback that throws the ball, well,
you've got a pressure in.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
We got to put pressure on this kid. Don't defend
this kid.
Speaker 5 (16:46):
Go get this kid and make him hopefully throw some picks.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
And he's a tenth grader.
Speaker 5 (16:52):
You got to remember that tenth grader's a little different
than seniors.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
And I'll tell you one thing coach about him. He
started last year for him when they made that playoff,
is a ninth grader, so he's got a lot of experience.
His dad's up here with the Pike Roade Live crew,
which talked to him and he said, you know, he's
got a lot more comfortable this year because he was
in the playoffs last year in the third round and
playing that Ben Russell winning a game like that, So
it's almost playing like he's a junior senior.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
Now, yes, sir, yes, sir, absolutely, Well, I'm looking forward
to this game and I want to say this, man,
I ain't get to say this and the keys of
the game, but you hear me say this all the time,
and This is so true.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
We're on the road.
Speaker 5 (17:29):
The first five minutes of this game is going to
be crucial. How we come out and how we defend,
or how we run the ball and move the football.
The last five minutes of the half, the first five
of the third quarter, in the last five of the game,
all you fans, keep up with those twenty minutes because
whoever wins those minutes usually win the football game.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
All right, coming up next, we've got your colting tospers
anybody rentals outdoors. You're listening top like a bulldog football
here on the kicker. All right back here at Patriots Stadium,
and time now for tonight's coin toss. Will head down
back my crack and stand aby.
Speaker 7 (18:07):
Means your team thinks a lot of you, your coaches
think a lot of you. Also means you've got a
lot of responsibility. You got to keep everybody in check tonight. Okay,
if anything gets chippy after the play, there's any extra
curriculars going on.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
It's you guys job to stop that. Okay.
Speaker 7 (18:20):
We don't want to throw flags, so you just go
ahead and stop it and take care of your team.
Un Let's play good football. Okay, you're the away team,
So you're gonna get the coin. Call the toss. I
have a coin has heads and tails, heads and tails,
heads and tails.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
What is your call it? What did he call U?
What's the call?
Speaker 7 (18:38):
The call is heads? If I drop it, we'll do
it again. The toss is tail. So Pike Road, do
you have won the toss?
Speaker 2 (18:46):
What would you like to do? You want to defer?
Speaker 3 (18:48):
Pike Road has coin the tall All right, So Pike Row,
we'll get the football to start the second half. So
we'll see the Opalaika Bulldogs come out first on offense. Coach,
I think that's a pretty good way to start this ball.
Let's go ahead and set the tone early, all right.
Captains for Ropelike at night where Jordan Wait's number twenty
four eighty seven, Drew Gagliano number eight, keV and King
of number ninety one, I'm Ari Smiley, both sets of
(19:11):
captains shaking hands and heading off to their respective ends
of the field. Bulldogs heading to our left where the
Spirit of the South marching van is taking up just
about half of the end. Z and bleachers here and
a very small set up here in Pike Road as
where this stadium was built. It was a three A.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
They've out and grounded.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
They're actually building a new stadium down the road down
Tropman Road almost to two thirty one and the Troy Highway.
For familiar with the area down here, coming up next
at your kickoff on the way and we'll check him
with mc McCracken. Also right here on the kicker just
about ready for the opening kickoff here between Opalike and
(19:46):
Pike Road. MC McCracken with our first four seasons Federal
Credit Union Sideline Report.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
Mac.
Speaker 8 (19:51):
Thanks guys, Hey, this is you know. Connor reminds you
of the at Bulldog Stadium with all the flashing lights,
so the boys are already used to that. The artificial
turf is down. Great meeting with Coach four with his
boys right there in the gymnasium.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
Before this game started.
Speaker 8 (20:05):
Just told him, hey, guys, visualize what's about to happen.
Something very very goods about to happened with this program here.
Let's go out there and play our best football. We
have tonight to catabult things here with the games upcoming.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
All right, thanks so much, Mac.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Tier game conditions brought to you by First Baptist Church,
Opalaka Proud to Sport Opelika Schools and right now seventy
five absolutely gorgeous. Been a little bit breezy at times,
but the wind seems to have died down a bit.
As we get ready for kickoff tonight again our pregame
show presented each week by Frederick Dean Funeral Home. And
we are ready for kickoff, and here we go. Pike
Road will kick from right to left, and Pike Road
(20:39):
comes out in grey tops, gray bottoms, red numbers outlined
in black, and a great helmet as well. It's great
gray gray for Pike Road. Bulldogs of black pants, white jerseys,
red numbers outlined in black. And we're just about ready
for the opening kick here for Pike Road. It'll be
a short kick and it will be feeled Tod add
around the twenty seven yard line by Quest Johnson. Quez
(20:59):
returns field and goes back towards the sidelines, and Quiz
stays on his feet still at the forty four and
lunches ahead around the forty five yard line.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Good good return.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
Yeah, Quiz Johnson on a short kick and gets the
Bulldogs up to around the forty five yard line, So
good field position here. I think they'll give them the
forty six. Actually coach McCracken, all.
Speaker 5 (21:18):
Right, Traymark Thomas, Kyle Eperson, Jackson's leads the area from
rook unty which want is back at right guard the
six foot tenth grader David Miller right tack.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Well, how give you the rest of up after this
towards pluck for forty six?
Speaker 3 (21:33):
All right, Opelaika will start from their on forty six
yard line here first play as we get underway here
from Pike Row Johnson and also Slade Clayton. Move over
from left to right, and there's a motion penalty off
the bat there, all Opalaika, So that's going to be
a five yard penalty and that will back the Dogs
up to the forty back to the forty one yard line.
Speaker 9 (21:52):
It's the Bulldog after the five yards, it's first and fifteen.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
Ople like a little motion there and somebody didn't get
sent or somebody moved a little, so it's going to
be first in fifteen now for the Bulldogs. After that
penalty and the ball again, Dogs with they're on forty one.
Speaker 5 (22:06):
Kobe Keys, your quarterback, Calvin Hugley, have Blake Johnson.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
I'll give you the other ones in a minute.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
All right.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
First play does go to Calvin Hugley and he's wrapped
up right at the line of scrimmage. Really good defense
there for Pike Road.
Speaker 9 (22:22):
With the handoff around left side for Opal Lighten.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
No game on the play there, Jalen Smith. I believe
that right in there for Pike Road got in there
and disrupted that one. So it'll be second down and
again fifteen coming up here for the Bulldogs. Key out
of the shotgun, Pike Roade really loading the box. Key
drops back, throws deep downfield and overshot his intended man.
(22:45):
Tried to get it to Brody Jones at around the
forty yard line, and it's a third and long right
off the bat here for the Bulldogs and Pike Rove
defense trying to make a big stem.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Yeah, we've got that. We got that a little high.
Speaker 5 (23:01):
Jabar and Miller wide receiver, Brody Jones at wide receiver,
and Drew Gagliano wide.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Receiver Dogs again for there on forty one. It'll be
a third and fifteen. Key checks the sidelines again. The
tailback will be Calvin Hugley two wide receivers to the right,
as Jamari Miller and Ques Johnson to the left. Side
is Brody Jones now Blake Johnson. The lineup as a
wide receiver to the right side. Key drops back, pressured
trying to set up a screen, gets it to hug Lee,
(23:27):
but stutter step stays on his feet, gets up close
to the forty five original line of scrimmage and able
to bring up about a fourth and eleven here for
the Bulldogs. Good stop there by Pike Row. That one
just took too long to develop. Coachs that screenplay.
Speaker 5 (23:40):
Yeah, they did a good job defensively. He held us
to five yards three down.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
Sold for the Bulldogs. Not a good start.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
Kind of writing.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
The momentum here at home a little bit. Zion Henderson
will go back like that deep to punt it from
the thirty three yard line. Puts a high boot into
this one. As Jordan Holmes goes back, he lost the football.
Just pick it up and you cannot return it. But
the Dogs are gonna have it down to the Pike
Road thirteen yard line.
Speaker 4 (24:11):
Boy, they've yetten a signal.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
Oh no, that's our ball. It is opal like a football.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
It dogs are gonna have it down at the Pike
Road right at the seventeen eighteen yard line is where
the Bulldogs will have it.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Big turnover, big turnover.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
Boy, it's the seventeen yard line is where the Bulldogs
will have it. First and ten after Jordan Holmes just
drop the football. So now, Opalken in a business.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
We need to get a good running game board right here.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Now he takes over first and ten, a wide out
either side. Blake Johnson is the full back for the
Bulldogs and Calvin Hugley No, Jordan Waits is the full back.
It's reverse play, trying to get Jamari Miller here nearside.
Jamary cuts it at the ten, he's inside the five
and he spends his.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
Way down to the one yard line.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
Good run there by Jamari Miller.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
That's a good big play right down.
Speaker 3 (25:02):
It'll be first and goal. They mark him down at
the two yard line.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Is that about fourteen for fourteen yards? That's a big
play too for Obalaika.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
Yep, sixteen yards. Big got a boy I formation here
for the Bulldogs. Key goes under center, checks the sidelines.
Blake Johnson is the fullback. Jordan Waits will be the
running back here in the I formation. Quick hand off
to Johnson in the end zone and lunges ahead. Pike Roads,
saying they stopped him short. They're gonna mark him down
(25:35):
at the one no game, they got a half a
yard good play there by Pike rode up front on
that defensive line.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
I said, belly play over on the left side with
Quez Johnson.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
I thought for sure, coach, he was getting in there.
Nine forty six clock underway here in the first quarter.
Bulldogs or Brian Moore.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
He's gonna run the same thing again, I.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
Think you might or the other way.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
Stop Blake Johnson if you can all two hundred and
forty pounds of them. They'll give it to Johnson right
side this time, and he's in the end zone for
the Bulldog touchdown. Finally the signal comes in as he
was laying halfway across the goal line and the Bulldogs
strike first after a big turnover there by Pike Road
on the punt set the Dogs up at the seventeen.
(26:19):
Good reverse play by Miller and two plays there for
Blake Johnson and the Bulldogs punch it in.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Boy, that's when these turnovers are so big.
Speaker 3 (26:28):
Van Oh, that's gonna drive coach Shuk crazy. Just got
to stop on the opening drive and had a big turnover.
Went after up and good by Rhyese Beasley and the
Dogs lead at seven. Nothing at score and drive power
by friends at open like a power services hometown people
working for you. Dogs on top seven nothing back after
this thirty second break right here on the kicker well,
(26:54):
the Dogs strike first, leading nine to twenty five, remaining
here in the first quarter unless pause ten second.
Speaker 4 (27:00):
It's for station identification.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
Howbo of you Ke King on.
Speaker 10 (27:04):
Is Lee County's Best Country ninety seven point seven kicker
FM and iHeart Country station.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Here is the kick by Rehys Beasley, end over end
kick short at the ten yard line will be returnable
for Pike Row. There's a good seam up the middle,
but a nice stop there by the Bulldogs flying in
and making a good stop there.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
All right, we got Malie all through Murray Spiley, J
Kyle like like put his back in at defensive return
and T. J.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Thomas up from Thomas Hudson and.
Speaker 5 (27:38):
Tyler Moore's pack forst at linebacker, Tonight, Devanie Dixon and
court Ingram at the corners carts and Hawson's strong safety
Tyrese Pittson.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
KB and King at safety.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
Fly the scrimmage a twenty five yard line here for
Pike Road first and ten. Xavier Thomas was on that
stop on special teams there for the Bulldog and official
telling the PA got to cut the music out. I
believe it was going a little along there. Cason Myers
the quarterback for Pike Road, a good sophomore quarterback.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
As we mentioned. And Jamichael Jones.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
That's a five yard penalty.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
We'll start at tailback.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
Yeah, their wide receiver moved out here.
Speaker 5 (28:22):
Now we'll be We had to get that official's attention
there from one of our players.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
Good job.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
Yeah, So I'll move it back to the twenty one.
That's where Pike Road will start first and ten. Patriots
line up with trips to the left side, Singer receiver right.
Jamichael Jones the loan back here for Cason Myers option play.
They'll give it to the back and pretty good push
gets a couple of yards up close to the twenty
four yard line, maybe three yards there on the play,
but that'll bring up second down and twelve for the Patriots.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
For the Patriots, all right, good job, Dave.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
So it'll be second out in twelve Pike Road empty set,
Myers drops back, pump fakes now steps up thinks about
running for it and he's in trouble. Me is hit
spins out of it for a moment, gets up to
the twenty five.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
I think that's going to be a hold in penalty.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
Where there is a flag at around the thirty five
yard line, around where Kiev and King was playing in
the secondary there, so we'll see he is pointing towards
Pike Road as if he got held I think so
as it stands now, it's going to be about a
third down and eleven coming up, and we'll see what
the white hat comes over and has to say about
this penalty. Eight fifty one remaining in the first quarter
(29:35):
of but like a leading seven to nothing, Pike Road's
first offensive possession and a long conversation here going with
a white hat and the official here.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
That's a hold in penalty, I think.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
I think they're checking with coach More to see if
he wants to take it. Bulldogs will use this opportunity
to get some substitutions in mac. What's the field down
there on the sidelines after that big turnover and score.
Speaker 8 (29:58):
Well, that big turnover and score is huge that he
dropped that ball, So that's one that you know kept
the momentum with the dogs.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
Defensively, we're doing good. You know.
Speaker 8 (30:05):
It's just a little different environment right now here than
we used to a small crowd, so but got gotta
keep playing here and defensively, let's get a stop here,
get the ball back and just keep trying to drive here,
you know, just staying on top of like coach said,
just continue to get better and better.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Big penalty right there, that's a blind side personal found
fifteen yard penalty against Pike Road, and that backs them
back to the thirteen yard line. So that's where they'll
be backed up here. It'll be second and an absolute
mile here. We've got Pike Row play action. Myers pressured
breaks free of the containment there and he flushed out
of the pocket to the right, throws on the run,
coming back and making the grab as the wide receiver.
(30:42):
What a catch down field by Levi Kelly number twelve,
who comes up and makes a heck of a grab.
And boy, that quarterback showed his elusiveness there case and
Myers did kept his eyes down field and he's got
his offense set up here for a third and two
from the thirty four yard line. That was a twenty
one yard pickup, load.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
Up the box. They're gonna run it.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
Two wide outs to the left side of the field.
Meyer's option play. He'll pitch it out of the tailback.
He's cutting down the back of the thirty yard line.
Big time stop there by, Carson Moss, and it's gonna
be punting time for the Patriots. Ben but don't break.
Gave up the big play there on. Seck it down,
but come up with a big stop there as a linebacker.
Carson Moss all over that one.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
Big defensive play. Van, great job that it.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
Was a loss of four yards. Back to the thirty
and now Pike Road will bring in the punter Connor Hall,
who will punt it away. Stands at around the sixteen
yard line. Seven forty seven thirty eight. Now on the clock,
dangerous Jamari Miller the Bulldogs and.
Speaker 4 (31:47):
It's back deep.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
Actually this is Mason Hussey who will punt this one
away boy, really good punt, hi hanging punt. Jamari goes back.
Fair catch called for at the thirty one yard line,
and that is where the Bulldogs will take over. Good
job there by the punter Hussy to flip the field.
Dogs will start from their own thirty one yard line,
seven twenty two left here in the first quarter. A
seven nothing open like.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
A lead travels thirty eight yard.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
That was a thirty eight yard punt there by Mason Hussey.
Speaker 9 (32:16):
From their thirty one yard line.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
I'm not gonna question him fair catching map.
Speaker 5 (32:20):
I don't know where that I think he could have
probably could have run that, but anyway, that's okay.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
Here we'll go.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
So the Bulldog offence back out. First time the Bulldogs
had the ball offensively, it was Pike Row getting a
stop of three and out, but then later fumbled the
pun and that set up the Bulldog touchdown. There's a
quick handoff inside of Tommy Johnson and not much there.
Johnson gets a yard and that's about it. Have you
got to see Calvin Hugley or Drew Gagliano check back
(32:47):
in the ball game, hopefully Mack and maybe give us
an update on Calvin on the sideline. Hopefully everything's okay
with him. It was a two yard pickup up to
the thirty three yard line. So this will be a
second down at eight coming up here for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
I need to make it get some yard and join
this one now.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
Key out of the shotgun quick hand off to Tommy Johnson.
Johnson left side, and Johnson carries the pile up close
to the thirty eight yard line. They'll mark him shy
of the thirty eight to the thirty seven yard line.
So that is a pick up of five yards and
gonna set up a third and not a third and
four coming up here for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
This could be run our pass right here. See if
Kobe Gears come.
Speaker 5 (33:29):
Up with a good play right here. This is third
down conversion right here. Van we'll oh for one on
third downs.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Bulldogs will line up two wide receivers out right. Tommy
Johnson again remains the tailback here for the Bulldogs. Blake
Johnson lined up full back to the left. Now they'll
shift over to the right. Key gets the snap, quick
hand off back to Johnson. Johnson's in some trouble. He
swallowed up at the backfield. Gonna lose two yards and
the Dogs are gonna have to punt Tommy boy for
a defense that had really struggled against the run. They're
(33:58):
really doing well trying to take that l I'm been
away for the Bulldogs right now, and Opelikah is gonna
have to send out Zion Henderson and punted away. They'll
send back a new punt returner at his number zero,
Amari Smith. And actually they'll send back as well. It
looks like Jordan Holmes. So they've got two back to
(34:19):
receive this one high end over end punt thereby Henderson.
It'll bounce down at the thirty and takes an opalaika
or it takes a pike roade bounce backwards before then
Swank comes in and grabs it and downs the ball
shy of the thirty five at the thirty four yard line.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
It's at about a thirty three yard punt something like that,
about right.
Speaker 4 (34:42):
By the thirty third bout a thirty one yarder.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Okay, Patriot, Well we didn't do good on offense.
Speaker 5 (34:48):
Then we couldn't convert on that third down.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
That's zero for two on third down conversions.
Speaker 4 (34:53):
Dam Yeah, just don't look real sharp offensively right now.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
We don't. We scored that touchdown.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
But and this is an offense, it's got some firepower.
When we saw that quarterback case and Myers make a
good throw there. He'll start first and ten from his
own thirty four yard line as opal like elead seven,
top and five thirty one left in the first quarter.
Dropping back past his complete at the thirty nine yard line.
That's a five yard pickup. It'll set up a second
(35:19):
down on five, second and five for Myers and the
offense two or for two five fourteen o clock running
here in the first quarter. Trips to the left side,
singer receiver right now, Jamichael Jones, the tailback will move
back into the backfield, and there'll be two wide outs
either side. Here's an option play. They'll toss it out
to Jones. Jones got some running room, He's got the
(35:40):
first down. He's up close to the forty eight yard line.
That's good for nine yards and a Pike Roade first down.
Speaker 9 (35:46):
First down, you know what.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
That's what. That's what.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
Smith's station last week. And empty backfield.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
Myers drops back, quick throw caught at the forty five,
spin up close to the forty three yard line and
close to another first down that is good for nine yards.
A yard shy the first down, Pike Rode, Pike Rode
trying to go hurry up here.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
Second down in.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
One and again it'll be two white outs either side
for Carson Myers the tail back again, Jamichael Jones. Myers
gets the snap, faked it inside quarterback run and he's
wrapped up pretty quickly there, but doesn't get enough I
believe for the first down, as Jamary or Mary Smiley
(36:35):
was in there on the stop. But it will be
good for a first down. Only needed a yard.
Speaker 9 (36:40):
Put it another.
Speaker 5 (36:43):
The ball like this and throw on us like this,
Van Camp. We got to tighten up our secondary.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
Now down to the forty two first down Pike Road
four fourteen remaining here in this first quarter of play.
I hope like a leading seven up them, but Pike
Roade on the move. Myers out of the shot gun,
gets the snap, drop straight back near midfield in some trouble,
avoids the pressure, steps up, and he finally goes down
sack back at the forty five yard line. A good
stop there by Tyler Moore, the linebacker not giving up.
(37:09):
Missed him the first time, I got him the second time.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
A great job. Two yard loss for the Patriot.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
So a two yard loss back to the forty four and.
Speaker 5 (37:19):
We brought that fifth. We brought that linebacker. Good blitz
right there.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
Second out in twelve here for the Patriots empty backfield
here for Myers, straight dropped back. Myers past and it
is incomplete at the thirty at the forty one yard line,
right at the thirty nine, try to get into Amory Smith.
It's gonna set up a third and twelve.
Speaker 9 (37:41):
Every seventh pile of war on the pervert.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
And if Pike Road gets a good chunk here, they
may go for this on fourth down.
Speaker 5 (37:48):
This this is gonna be third and eleven. Boy, this
is huge right here. Now looks like he just gonna
rush three.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
Pike rode down at the forty four of Opalaika face
at a third and twelve here with three twenty six
in the opening quarter, and they try to get open
like at a jump. Now Myers will check the sidelines
on they rushing three gets his play, you're gonna have
to get to him now. Myers are two wide receivers
to the left side and Jamichael Jones a tail back
to the ride. Myers drops back pressure pump, fake steps
(38:18):
up in the pocket and floats one down. Nearly picked off,
almost intercepted there by cort ingram At around the thirty
eight yard line, and it's gonna bring up fourth down.
We'll see if coach Shuk will keep the offense out here.
Bring the punting team out here with a fourth and
twelve coming.
Speaker 2 (38:33):
Up, I think they're gonna punt. Maybe not.
Speaker 3 (38:37):
Looks as though the offense is staying put here at
least for the moment and the open like a forty
four yard line. It'll be fourth down and twelve.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
We've got a.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
Pressure him now, all right, Myers takes a few step back,
maybe a squib kick here. That's where the quarterback gets
the snap and puts a boot into this one and
Jamari Miller's gonna let it roll and it takes a
good pike road roll down at around the six yard
line where it goes out of own So good punt
there by the quarterback case at Myers.
Speaker 9 (39:06):
The yard line of the Bulldog.
Speaker 3 (39:09):
We're a thirty eight yard punt, so the Bulldogs will
have it first and ten from their own six yard line.
Speaker 5 (39:22):
So far, Van, we've had nine plays and we had
the one sixteen yard game.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
And the rest of the time a total of five
yards rushing.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
Heah, well, check in with Mac. We see Calvin Hughley
back in the football game. Now, that's good to see
Calvin was out those last couple of drives. Now, Blake
Johnson in there from the six yard line, and here
is Blake Johnson getting the hand off. Blake went right,
comes back left. He's got some blockers ahead across the fifteen.
Johnson across the twenty cuts it outside of the twenty five,
and he's brought down across the twenty six yard line.
(39:53):
Good run there by the big fellow Blake Johnson with
the tackle.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
How many is that run around the left?
Speaker 9 (39:59):
Enough for a Bulldog? First down?
Speaker 2 (40:01):
Should be twenty yards? Good?
Speaker 4 (40:03):
They mark him at the twenty six.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
Good first down.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
Big play, Lambert transfer in storage, first down. As we
play here with two fifty eight remaining here in the
first quarter, and that was your biggest play Bulldogs offensively tonight.
Hope like the leads it. Here's seven to nothing. So
Blake Johnson with the first big run, Key drops back,
wants to throw rolls here near side floats one caught
by Johnson at the thirty six and finally pushed out
(40:28):
of bounds. They'll mark them all the way to the
forty three yard line. So big throw and catch. Quiz
Johnson on that reception seventeen yards and another Lambert transfer
in storage first down a Bulldog.
Speaker 5 (40:42):
That's another big play too, that's three big plays. That's
the way to move the ball.
Speaker 3 (40:47):
Yeah, Calvin hugles in the game and you go to
the air. They're really keying in on that ground game
right now.
Speaker 2 (40:51):
They're rushing five guys.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
You can see that two thirty eight left first quarter.
Key drops back pressure steps up in the pocket and
keeping no where to go. He's going to be sacked
back at the thirty six yard line. As a big loss.
They may mark ford progress back of the thirty seven.
Speaker 5 (41:10):
It's about as they most tackled in the back pill Yeah.
Speaker 4 (41:14):
Yeah, close to six yards here are.
Speaker 5 (41:16):
Seventh there, it's almost eight gram.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
Well, they marked it back at the thirty eight.
Speaker 9 (41:25):
After the eight yard loss. Second in eighteen through the
Bulldogs and with two two.
Speaker 3 (41:30):
Left in the first there's a time out on the field,
and this one taken by Pike Rose. So we'll step
aside two o two remaining first quarter, Opal like a
leading seven nothing. You're listening to Bulldog football here on
the kicker out of the time out, Opal Like, it'll
be second down and long here for the Bulldogs. Key
drops back throws across the middle. It's caught by Brody Jones.
(41:51):
Jones up to the forty yard line, but wrapped up
there nicely by the Patriots.
Speaker 9 (41:56):
Complete seventeen Brody Joe.
Speaker 3 (41:58):
We'll mark him at the forty one one yard line.
Just a four yard pickup. It's going to be third
and twelve coming up here for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 5 (42:05):
A right us that brings up a big third down
for the Patriot DP.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
We're zero for two on third down, this huge chill,
just one thirty seven left in our first quarter of play.
Coming to you for the Lord's Peede Clinic broadcast booth
here high on top of the home side.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
Maybe look at something of the fats out there on
up top.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
Yeah, Key out of the backfield, wants to throw steps
fires and it's nearly picked off at the forty five
yard line. Big break for the Bulldogs trying to get
into Jamari Miller, but that one was in and out
of the hands broken up.
Speaker 9 (42:39):
Find number thirty six Bryons Perdue.
Speaker 4 (42:41):
Bryson Perdue there oh on a near interception.
Speaker 5 (42:45):
Zero of three on third down conversions. But we have
four big plays, three big play.
Speaker 3 (42:51):
Excuse me, so Zion Henderson will drift back to punted
away Opalaika line of scrimmage the forty one and again
two deep men back for the Patriots.
Speaker 9 (43:02):
Jordan Holmes and Omari Smith set to.
Speaker 3 (43:04):
Receive Henderson good booming right into this way and it
rolls a huge opal like a roll. It's gonna get
down inside the ten and roll all the way down
inside the five to the fourth yard line. What a
boom ex boot thereby Zion Henderson.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
That's about fifty five yards.
Speaker 3 (43:22):
It was fifty five on the dock coaster. Cracking a
fifty five yard punt time for four seasons. Federal Credit
Union Sideline Report, mag McCracken, What you got?
Speaker 2 (43:30):
So?
Speaker 8 (43:31):
I was over there with coach Fleming, the offensive line coach,
and you know he was getting on to them by
some missing assignments that've been happening lately. So you know,
let's see if we can correct those up and keep going.
And coach Jeddi Atkins, we're just talking.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
About, Hey guys, we got to turn it up a
little bit offensively.
Speaker 4 (43:44):
All right, thank you. Mac. Down on the field there,
we need to hold them right here.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
Van Pike rod will start for their own four yard line,
their quarterback one step in the end zone along with
the tailback as well. One O five to play, it'll
be a quick hand off to the tailback and he's
got nowhere to go op right there at the They
give him the six yard line, so we'll pick up
a couple of yards. As we wind under a minute
to go here in the first quarter, with opal like
a leading seven nothing at Pike rowe will try to
(44:10):
hurry up here. Two wide outs to the left side
and again quarterback standing at the goal line to get
this snap quick hand off to Jones right side, and
Jones bottled up there at the ten yard line, so
that'll be a pick up a four yard So this
will set up about a third and five coming up here.
Speaker 9 (44:28):
Jones again with a carry.
Speaker 3 (44:30):
For Pike Rode under thirty seconds to play here in
the first quarter. I need to stop here for the
field position.
Speaker 5 (44:36):
Don't give them this first down. We're just rushing three guys.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
Pike Croad if they want to can take it to
the second quarter. As we wind down sixteen myers with
a hard count. I think that's what they'll do. He
looks to the sidelines here under ten now on the
game clock and the play clock, and at least the
ones we're looking at is yet to start down to
four down to three and Pike Robe will take it
to the second quarter. Well, head to the second Bulldog's
(45:01):
leading seven nothing, Pike Road with a third and five
to start quarter number two, we come back. You're listening
to Bulldog football here on the kicker getting ready to
start the second quarter. A big down here for this
Bulldog defense is a Pike Road trailing seven nothing and
Opalika's defense right now sitting with a third and five
(45:24):
and Pike Road's offense from their own ten yard line. Coach,
you really want to try to get a punt here
from the ten.
Speaker 5 (45:29):
They're rushing three guys now, so they're gonna play eight defenders.
Speaker 2 (45:34):
They got to get to this.
Speaker 3 (45:35):
Quarterback now, certainly respecting Case and Myers, that's for sure here.
And he's got a five white look. Three to the left,
two to the right. He drops straight back, throws its
calt and a flag is down as Kivian King wrapped
up Hussy short of the first down by they flag
down on the play. I don't know if this may
(45:55):
be interference against opal Like or a hold.
Speaker 4 (45:57):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (46:00):
Time you get a flag in that unless it's offensive
holding on the offensive line.
Speaker 4 (46:03):
We'll have to wait and see.
Speaker 3 (46:07):
It's looking as though this is going to go against
Pike Road as they are moving back, so this may
be a hold against the Patriots. Are an ineligible man downfield?
Speaker 2 (46:15):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (46:15):
Are illegal touching? Illegal touching? Yes it is, and that's
a loss. That's fourth down.
Speaker 2 (46:21):
There you go. WHOA, what a good place to be
in now.
Speaker 3 (46:24):
So whoever caught the pass was not an eligible receiver
there right, and that was Mason Hussy wherever he lined up.
So it is fourth down and now the punting team
comes on late here for Pike Rod. Bulldogs will sitting
in there, so this will have the Patriots punting from
the five yard lines. So the Bulldogs should get good
field position leading here seven nothing on just underweight here
(46:46):
in the second quarter with eleven fifty four left, we
need to.
Speaker 2 (46:48):
Take advantage of this Van.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
Miro good place if Jamari can get a good pun off,
and Hussy did a good job punting it earlier. He's
at the back of his ensign to get the snap,
and this is a more line drive punt. He shanked
it out of bounds. He was trying to get a
good one off and he missed that one, and the
Bulldogs again will have a really good field position.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
That was what you call in golf a duck hook.
Speaker 3 (47:13):
Yeah, that was a straight left. That was a shank
at the nineteen yard line. So that was a fourteen
yard punt.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
Excellent.
Speaker 3 (47:23):
Now run that rock if we can coach boy. They've
been tough up front right now. And you look at
the size of Pike Row, they're certainly undersized compared to
op like his offensive line. You should be winning that battle.
Speaker 5 (47:34):
But hey, we've had two runs twel in thirty six yards.
Speaker 3 (47:38):
We mentioned how fired up Pike bro was going to
be for this game, and they're playing fired up football
inspired right now. Here's a hand off to Calvin Huglely,
Calvin bouncing it outside. Calvin's inside the fifteen and Calvin
was hit at around the eleven yard line. So Calvin
a good run close to eight yards there, Huglely, it'll
be a couple of yards shy of the first down
as he was knocked out of bounds at around the
(47:59):
eleven yard line on the far side of the football field.
Good job, so down to the eleven. Calvin Hugly stays
in the ballgame. Blake Johnson is the Eights back. Run
it again, baby, Now Johnson will move over two white
outs to the left side of the field. That's Johnson
and Miller, and here's a handoff again to Calvin. Calvin
(48:21):
spends his way in the hole and Calvin runs down
close to the six yard line. He's got a Lambert
transfer and storage first down as he runs for five
yards and that'll be first in goal. Let the five
here for the Bulldogs leading seven to nothing with eleven
twenty six left in our first half. Good job and
taking advantage of some good field position here and trying
to punch it in again Calvin Hugly. It's keep pounding
(48:43):
tail back to the right here for Kobe Key and
one wide out either side. Now it'll be Miller going
in motion. They'll fake it to Miller and they'll give
it to Hugly. Hugly inside the five, Hugly down close
to the two yard line, and it will be second
end goal. It looks like coming up from the three
yard line is where they're gonna mark him down.
Speaker 4 (49:05):
Talking after a three yard game, maybe.
Speaker 3 (49:08):
Blake Johnson time, I don't know, coach. We'll see sick
it down and goal from the three yard line. It'll
be eye formation and again Blake Johnson will be the
full back and Calvin will dot the eye checking the
sidelines here and Key will go under center. Key gets
the snap of toss play out the Calvin Calvin cuts
(49:28):
it in In's on bulldog touchdown.
Speaker 2 (49:30):
Calvin slipped through.
Speaker 3 (49:31):
They're almost untouched for the bulldog touchdown and with ten
thirty left here in the second corner of the Dogs
extend their lead thirteen nothing over the Patriots, and here
comes Reese Beasley for the point after a.
Speaker 5 (49:43):
Boy, well, coach, you know play I ain't man that
was that was toss sweep right.
Speaker 3 (49:47):
Therefense has not been doing a whole lot tonight, but
they've been putting short yarded situations and they've scored when
they needed to, sir.
Speaker 5 (49:54):
They got that ball at the forty yard line and
they didn't throw a pay.
Speaker 3 (50:00):
Did not race Beasley for the point after it's up,
and it is good that score and drive power by
Opal like a power services hometown people working for you
online at oplelakapower dot com. Back after this thirty second
time out and a word from Southern Union State Community College.
Speaker 4 (50:18):
Dog.
Speaker 3 (50:19):
He's out onto their lead here at Patriots Stadium, fourteen
nothing with ten twenty eight remaining, and coach, you know what,
you still got to play defense. You're a one score
for Pike Road and were getting right back in this ballgame.
And we kind of saw this on the road of
Benjamin Russell in week one when Opelika was trying to,
you know, kind of stretch the lead before the end
of the first half. And defense has still got to
be on their a game.
Speaker 2 (50:38):
Hey, last five minutes of the half.
Speaker 3 (50:42):
No, here's eight boob and kicked by Reese Beasley, floated
down to the two and the return man dropped it,
picked it up at the five. He's in some trouble,
but he tight ropes the sidelines and fumbled the football
out of bounds and hit at the fifteen yard line.
That was almost disastrous. And that was Jordan Holmes again,
the guy that dropped the punt earlier, coach, and on
special teams there he almost made a big mistake.
Speaker 2 (51:03):
Well, they started from the twenty and the eighth.
Speaker 3 (51:07):
Well they started here from the fourteen yard line.
Speaker 9 (51:12):
Huge dog return.
Speaker 2 (51:16):
And we're staying with that Freeman front.
Speaker 3 (51:19):
Patriots from their own fourteen yard line here. See if
the defense can get a big turnover here that'd be good.
We got the ball boy mishap here going on. Branch,
Miller runs in late, gets the ball in now, Branch
goes down and scoops that he's gonna make his way
out off the field in time. We Coach Burdette's got
to tighten up on those guys. Mack, you're over there
(51:41):
on him now. Coach Burdett and the ball crew now
all right, first and ten play. Holmes gives it a
Miller big hole up the middle and Hiller. Miller is
up close, are you Michael Jones rather is up close
to the twenty four yard line after aname that's nine
yards almost a first down.
Speaker 2 (52:01):
You gotta put four people back up there rushing on.
Speaker 3 (52:05):
He carries it up to the twenty three second down
in one. That's to Michael Jones. Good tal bag, good
size to five eleven, two oh five.
Speaker 4 (52:12):
He's a junior.
Speaker 3 (52:14):
Myers gets the snamp, drops back, he's pressured, now throws
it and it is picked off down the sidelines inside
the ten cut at the five touchdown. Bulldogs ty Resee
pins the birthday boy Coach McCracken with a pick six.
Birthday ty Rece Tyrase pens birthday boy with the interception.
His mom messaged me today, said ty Reese's birthday and
(52:36):
his sister's birthday today and they're celebrating their birthday, and
how about a birthday pick six?
Speaker 2 (52:42):
Ty Reese, your mama is very very proud of you tonight.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
Yes, yes, indeed, Miss Tens, there's your boy birthday pick six.
Speaker 5 (52:52):
Somebody tipped that ball and so Tyrase could catch it.
I don't know who it was, but we'll have to
look back at that.
Speaker 3 (52:58):
Here's Reese Beasley for the point after. Boy, it's been
a while since we had a turnover for a score, coach,
and the extra point is up and it is good.
Nine forty two left. That's a heck of a scoring
driving power botle like a power services. Wow, hometown people
working for you. Tyrese Pitts, the birthday boy with a
pick six and the Augs lead at nine, you one
(53:19):
to nothing. We'll be back after this. Thirty second time
out here on the kicker case and Myers with an
interception thrown to Tyrese Pits and Pitts brought it back
about twenty five yards for the touchdown and the Bulldog's
up three scores now twenty one to nothing with nine
(53:40):
forty two left here in this first half of play
and the birthday boy Tyreese Pitts coming up with an interception.
Speaker 2 (53:46):
Coach, Oh that's great, Mac. You make sure you tell
him happy birthday.
Speaker 8 (53:50):
For myselfee, I ain't go get your birthday at your birthday.
Speaker 3 (53:54):
There you go hit a zone end over end kick
and it does get it to the end zone and
that will be a touchback. And I'm a cracking down
the sidelines.
Speaker 2 (54:01):
Mac.
Speaker 3 (54:01):
Miss Pitt's messaged me today said make sure you give
a shout out for him on the birthday, and I
was thinking myself, well, hopefully I give him shout out
when he makes a good play, and boom, there it
is right.
Speaker 8 (54:10):
Hey, well Van, good things happen when you talk to
his Pitts every time.
Speaker 2 (54:13):
So you know you talked to her last week. You
know it was good. You talked to today, I.
Speaker 8 (54:19):
Think this week and then there you go interception big
six on his birthday.
Speaker 3 (54:22):
I was about to say, you know, I'm talking about
him when he does good stuff.
Speaker 4 (54:25):
So that's good.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
Continue talk every week to her. Y'all need to just
hold up, y'all need to hold his little zoom call.
Speaker 4 (54:29):
Yeah, what happy birthday to sister too. We got it.
We can't leave her out.
Speaker 2 (54:32):
We got it.
Speaker 5 (54:33):
Heye, they're gonna start chucking it now. We got to
start putting pressure on this kid.
Speaker 3 (54:38):
All right, we got a wild can't look here for
the Pats. We five flight look here and they will
give it to the back in motion and he's wrapped
up back close to the sixteen yard line.
Speaker 2 (54:49):
That was number forty four.
Speaker 3 (54:51):
Ty Hudson bringing him down back at the sixteen yard line.
That's gonna be a loss of four. Great, she'll be
second down and fourteen coming up. Now the pressure on
them for the Patriots.
Speaker 2 (55:02):
Great job by our front four lightfoot autree.
Speaker 3 (55:08):
Now this will be Myers back in at quarterback. He's
got three receivers right, two to the left, five wide look,
pressure comes thrown, caught at the thirty yard line. Good
slant pass in some trouble here and right finally wrapped
up at the thirty six yard line. Carson Moss came
in and made the style but a big throwing catch there.
Ty Hudson was bringing the heat on the quarterback. Just
got a nick too late there and he was able
(55:31):
to find the open wide receiver for a big first
down catch up to the thirty to give him the
thirty seven yard line, So that's twenty yards and a
first down. Myers now flushed out of the pocket on
the run, throws to Hussy and he dropped it at
the forty yard line and it falls incomplete. It'll be
second down and ten coming up here for the Patriots.
(55:51):
Dogs lead at twenty one, eight forty nine remaining here
in this first half. As we play here in the
second quarter, big crowd for Opal like up on the
hill now and the marching van and the left in
the end zone taking up the entire end zone.
Speaker 5 (56:09):
TJ Thomas on the edge. I think they're gonna blitz
one of them backers right here.
Speaker 3 (56:19):
Myers out of the shot gun, gives the ball right
up to Jones, and Jones brought down right in the hole.
There a good stop there by the Bulldogs. That's number
ninety five on the stop for the Bulldogs. That's Brandon Densel,
third and seventh, third and eight. Autry and Smiley check
back in the game along with Braden Stinson.
Speaker 2 (56:39):
Yeah, they're gonna rush three.
Speaker 3 (56:41):
It'll be third and eight coming up here for the Patriots.
From their own thirty eight yard line.
Speaker 2 (56:47):
Come on, we got to get a good rush from
these three. Five block and.
Speaker 3 (56:51):
Three Myers out of the shotgun play action pressured, Smiley comes.
Myers flushed out of the pocket on the run here
near side, throws and it is they say complete here
on the near side for a first down at the
forty forty forty six yard line along the tide. Boy
Myers was able to tight rope the sideline and find
his wide receiver here at the forty six yard line.
(57:14):
That was a fifteen yard throw. I'm already Smiley on
the pressure there and almost got the quarterback again a
five wide look. Myers drops back throws short of Hussy
at the forty yard line. It's incomplete and it's second
down and ten eight o five clock stopped here in
the second quarter. Coach, he's very elusive. This quarterback hard
(57:35):
to bring down. He almost have to bring an extra
guy just to get him down.
Speaker 2 (57:38):
He's throwing, he's throwing quick passes. Now.
Speaker 5 (57:41):
He's good now, but we got a pressure him. Now,
We're only gonna rush three guys.
Speaker 3 (57:52):
Carson Myers quarterback sixty three one ninety five too. He's
got some real good size too. Of his dad's really
tall too. We talked to him up here and come on,
come on, first and ten play, they'll give it to
Jones right side, and Jones with a good run and
dogs trying to strip that football away, but he's able
to hold onto it at the thirty eight yard line.
Speaker 2 (58:12):
Third and three.
Speaker 3 (58:14):
That was an eight yard pickup. It's going to be
third and two or almost a third and yeah, I
think it's going to be third and three. They mark
it back at the forty one, but there is a
timeout on the field and we'll step aside here as well.
Steven forty four are left here in our second quarter
of play twenty one nothing opelaika with the lead and
back after this time out here on the kick third
(58:42):
down coming up here for the Patriots out of the
time out, those of the football down at the forty
or the thirty nine yard line of Opelaikah, and this
will be a third and three for the Patriots. Myers
out of the shot and gun out of the time out.
We'll see what coach Jonathan Chandler offensive ordinator's drawn up.
It's an option play in a good one too. Myers
pulls that he's got the first down and then some
(59:05):
as he carries it down to the round the twenty
eight yard line, it'll be close to eleven yards on
the quarterback keeper there by Casin Myers.
Speaker 2 (59:15):
After the eleve yard game, come on, geez.
Speaker 9 (59:17):
From the Bulletogs.
Speaker 3 (59:18):
So first and ten at the twenty eight of Opelika
Myers hurries up here, he'll go quick hand off to
the running back by Jamichael Jones. And Jamichael Jones again
too much down to the twenty three yard line and
that's five yards.
Speaker 5 (59:33):
Sticking with that three man front.
Speaker 3 (59:36):
Seven fifteen left here in the first half, Dogs leading
twenty one, nothing but the Patriots on the move. Here's
a Jones run and he's to be wrapped up there.
Malik Altree stops him right at the line of scrimmage
and nowhere for.
Speaker 4 (59:47):
Jamichael Jones to go on that run.
Speaker 3 (59:49):
And this will set up a third down and eight
coming up here for the Patriots. And you can better
believe this is four down territory now for the Patriots.
Speaker 2 (59:56):
Big play.
Speaker 3 (59:59):
So we'll see what the defense will dial up here
on third and eight.
Speaker 5 (01:00:02):
Well, they've been rushing three every time and dropping eight
and same thing.
Speaker 3 (01:00:08):
All right, two wide receivers to the right side, Nobody
wind up to the left, play action. Myers flushed out
again to the right side, throws again on the run
and again complete inside the fifteen down to the eleven
yard line, and that is a lambort transfer us. It's
a Patriot first down. Good for twelve yards. They can
(01:00:30):
get a first down inside the two. Six thirty one remaining,
and Myers, after throwing that interceptions bound back nicely, quick
inside gift to the back.
Speaker 4 (01:00:38):
He's down to the.
Speaker 3 (01:00:39):
Five yard line for six yards and right now the
defense no answer for this quick, hurry up, a little
rpo game that Pike Road's running coach. So here's Myers
from the five yard line, quick hand off to Jones,
and Jones lunges ahead towards the end zone, and they're
gonna say he's down at the one. But this will
(01:00:59):
be first and goal from the one now for the Patriots.
With six oh two remaining, dogs sitting in some extra recruits,
so first in goal from the one yard line now
for Pike Road. Myers tries to settle his crowd down,
(01:01:22):
gets the snap, hands into the back.
Speaker 4 (01:01:24):
He's in the end zone really easy. Jamichael Jones touchdown.
Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
Upright, coach, they had to convert some third downs on
that drive. That was all on Myer's a great job
of bouncing back for the quarterback after he threw a
pick six down three scores and he marched his team
right down the field.
Speaker 5 (01:01:44):
They went eighty yards on us with a twenty one
to nothing lead.
Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
Uh twenty one to Michael Coles with a nt yard.
Speaker 9 (01:01:52):
Run for his seven touchdown of the.
Speaker 3 (01:01:54):
Season and as they say, the seventh touchdown for Jones
of the season. And one thing too to keep in mind,
Pike Road will get the football to start the second half,
so they really want to get a stop, get another
score and try to get back in this game.
Speaker 5 (01:02:05):
We got five minutes, the last five minutes of the
half coming up.
Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
We need to put more points on the board.
Speaker 3 (01:02:12):
Connor Hall's point after attempt up and good Pike Road
back within fourteen now twenty one to seven with five
point fifty two left here in the second quarter. You're
listening to Bulldog football here on the kicker. We're back
(01:02:33):
here Pike Roades Stadium, Van Riggs alongside coach Spence McCracken,
and that was an eighty yard drive for the Patriots.
After getting down twenty one to nothing, our offense showed
some big time life as a put seven on the
board in a short kick and it's just troubled. Pike
Roads got it at the thirty three yard line, short
kick in no man's land and the Patriots come down
(01:02:55):
and they get their hands on it. That was Jordan
Holmes who comes over it, makes the grab and just
nobody coming up to make the catch there for the
Bulldogs on the kickoff team, that maybe something they've seen
on film.
Speaker 4 (01:03:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:03:12):
Yeah, that's poor where weak. We need to stop their
running game.
Speaker 4 (01:03:20):
This could get them right back in it here.
Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
Now we've got the four man rushed back up.
Speaker 3 (01:03:24):
There, so myer's in a company out with a big
play there at the thirty three yard line of opal
Iyekach Michael Jones wrapped up by the linebacker. Ty Hudson
comes in there and stops him for about a yard loss.
Back to the thirty three yard line. Second down at eleven.
Now for the offense, and we'll see the quarterback come
(01:03:45):
over to the sideline. Here I'll see if they go wildcat.
Look here I think they are. And this is Jordan
Holmes who will run the wildcat Looyd. You don't see
many people doing it much anymore. Jones to the right,
he'll get the stamp, and Jones run right at the middle,
untouched for the touchdown. Boy, oh boy, Jordan Holmes thirty
(01:04:07):
three yard touchdown right up the tubes, untouched, and the
Patriots are right back in this game with five seventeen
remaining here in this first half of the feed, Boy,
two quick scores to answer. After the Bulldogs got a
(01:04:30):
twenty one to nothing lead, and here's a point after
no a two point conversion play it stopped. Patriots tried
to go for two line up in the swinging gate
and Myers actually got the snap, but there's a flag
down on the play, false starred against the Patriots. Boy,
(01:04:56):
that kickoff was a huge, huge momentum swing here in
this stadium. And after Tyrese Pitts got the pick six,
it was all Pike Road case Ad Myers with an
eighty yard drive and then a short kick that was
not fielded by Opelaika Guy and returned by Pike Road
(01:05:18):
and extra point. A little hesitant on the kick there
by Connor Hall, but he doesn't get it up and
good Patriots only down by seven. Now twenty one fourteen,
with five seventeen remaining. We're back after this time out,
and you're listening to Bulldog football here on the kicker, well,
(01:05:40):
the Bulldog's expecting anything now on the kickoff team, after
a short kick was fielded by the Patriots, here's another
squib kick and in no more trouble. Jamari Miller done
down the sidelines. He's got a chance here inside the forty,
inside the thirty, Jamori Tiptoe stays on his feet inside
of the ten, though they say he stepped out of
bounds at the twenty five yard line. Boy Jamari Miller
(01:06:02):
just scooped that one up and almost took it to
the house. But again Opealaga's offense is gonna have a
really good field position. That was another close one there
till Jamari came into the rescue and almost returned it
for a touchdown. But at the twenty five of Pike
Road is where the Bulldogs will start first and ten
got to cash it in here.
Speaker 5 (01:06:20):
Coach, that was a big We needed that one, am
you know, we need to catch and said we got
plenty of time.
Speaker 3 (01:06:30):
Five seventeen remaining here in this first half, of play
and Kobe Key will come out with Calvin Hugley first
and ten at the twenty five of Pike Road. Key
out of the shotgun, gives it to Calvin. Calvin straight
up the middle there, just bottling up that run game
right now for Opelaika two yards down to the twenty three,
(01:06:55):
down to the twenty. Get down to the twenty three
yard line, second out and eight. Blake Johnson in the
game along with Calvin Hughley. Johnson the lineup as a
wide receiver out to the right, so trips to the
right side and they're gonna throw out and Jamari's got
(01:07:15):
it caught inside the twenty. Jamari cuts it at the ten.
Jamari being slung down close to the five yard line.
I tell you Pike Road had that one read good too,
because Jamari just got out of that one. They almost
had him.
Speaker 2 (01:07:27):
I thought they were gonna pick that off.
Speaker 3 (01:07:29):
I did too. That was close, Jamorrow. You were able
to hang on to that one and spin his way
out of trouble. And it's first in goal. Opalika now
down at the five a Pike Road, that about eighteen
yards eighteen yard game good, so down at the eighteen
yard line first and goal. I should say, well it
was a seventeen yards coach. They marked him at the
(01:07:50):
six four eighteen left in the first half.
Speaker 4 (01:07:54):
Key.
Speaker 3 (01:07:55):
Now with Jordan Waits in the game, Waits gets the
hand off and Waits straight up the middle. Waits gets
that push from the Bulldogs and Waits is going to
be marking down at the three yard line. So a
three yard pickup with second and goal from the three
(01:08:15):
coming up now for Opelika with three fifty six remaining
here in this first half, Opelikah leading twenty one to
fourteen over Pinke Road. Patriots have put up fourteen unanswered
back to back scores after Opelaika had a twenty one
nothing lead. And here is an I formation here for
the Bulldogs. Tommy Johnson, the W is a running back.
The lined up behind his full back Blake Johnson. He'll
(01:08:39):
be a quick inside handoff, no quarterback keeper and all
most got and they got another yard down down to
the two. I see it. So kolbe Keith kept the
football there. Game all right, that's some punishing territory for
your quarterback. So third and goal from the two Patriots
(01:09:07):
fans on their feet here on a third and goal
from the two and Calvin Huglely's back in the ballgamey,
so Calvin dots the I formation again. Blake Johnson is
the full back and Kolby Key under center. Third and
goal from the two, toss play out to Hugly. Hugly
cuts it inside the two. A flag down. Oh my
(01:09:29):
goodness at the one from the rompire. That's from the
back judge. I think that may be a hold on
opal Laika and that is going to be a big one.
That's going to be a ten yard penalty at the
goal line.
Speaker 9 (01:09:42):
The goal line. The penalty is the open like one.
Speaker 3 (01:09:45):
So it's going to be third and goal now from
around the eleven yard line or twelve yard line. So
that's a huge penalty. One you just can't have on
the goal line.
Speaker 6 (01:09:54):
Oh, you're right.
Speaker 3 (01:09:58):
And coach Moore coming over wants to have a explanation.
And I think they threw it on somebody on the
outside away from the play too. So third and goal
it'll be back at the right at the twelve yard line.
Twenty one fourteen, opal like a leading two forty three remaining.
Speaker 9 (01:10:20):
After the penalty in third and gold.
Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
And boy if Pike roke and hold open like it
a field goal attempt here, This would be a huge
break for them.
Speaker 2 (01:10:29):
Come on, we got to get the play.
Speaker 3 (01:10:31):
Down to twelve on the play clock. I think coach
Moore is gonna maybe take a time out here. Down
to eight, down to seven, he may have to down
to four, down to three, somebody's gonna have to call
a time out. And coach Moore now realizes that the
play clock is lying down and he takes a time out.
So with two fourteen remaining here in this first half
(01:10:52):
of play, a timeout on the field. Let's head down
for a four seasons Federal Credit Union Sideline report mag
what you got for us?
Speaker 8 (01:11:00):
Well, we got to be We've gotta be smart right here.
That holding killed us though. You know, we just need
to make sure that we stay okay. I know we're
in field goal range, but just don't turn the ball
over here and just keep it at least we need
to get points out of this drive. Either way you
look at it, I get a too possession score. But hey, guys,
right now, I mean we're just seeing it on the sidelines.
It's just a lot of swing of emotions and this
(01:11:22):
if you if you look at the whole game, Dad,
it's been all special teams. That's what's turned everybody's momentum
around it. It helped Pike Road, it helped us, and
it's just been right now, swing of emotions on either way.
He's got the momentum. So we just need to take
care of the football here and get away with points
either way, whether it.
Speaker 2 (01:11:39):
Be a touchdown or whether it be three.
Speaker 5 (01:11:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:11:40):
There, we got to come back and place some good
team fans, all right.
Speaker 3 (01:11:46):
So the Bulldogs, it'll be third and goal from the
twelve out of the time out. We'll see what coach
Bore and coach Atkins have dialed up here. From the
thirteen yard line, it'll be a run play to Calvin.
Calvin straight up the middle and down to the seven
yard line. I think Opelika playing for points here. Looks
like four may be playing for a field goal attempt
(01:12:08):
here late in this first half. Down to two o two,
down to two minutes, I think coach more may it's
like Reese Beasley's on the sidelines waiting to come out
late here.
Speaker 2 (01:12:18):
Maybe, and they're gonna go far.
Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
Keeps the offense out here. At least it's what the
Loot Show is maybe trying to get them to jump
off sides here. I don't know, down to seven on
the platelike down to six, they'll bring Johnson in motion
and Opelika moved. So one of the offensive linemen for
(01:12:45):
Opelika move trying to draw the defense of Pike Road
off sides. That's gonna move this field goal. Try back
five yards here for Reese Beasley coming there.
Speaker 4 (01:13:02):
He's coming in now for.
Speaker 9 (01:13:03):
The penalty fourth and goal from the thirteen yard line.
Speaker 3 (01:13:12):
So be a thirty yarder for we're right in the
middle of the field here for Reese Beasley, sophomore kicker,
five eleven hundred and sixty five pounds. Try to make
this a ten point ball game with one thirty left
here in this first half, snap is down, hold is good,
(01:13:32):
and the kick is right down the middle and it
is good. So Reese Beasley puts the kick up in good.
Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
Good kick. That was a bad snap too, Holder got
that baller? Good.
Speaker 3 (01:13:44):
You're so score and drive a power by our friends
and op like a power services hometown people working for you.
Certainly a win for the defensive Pike Road, but dogs
get three out of it, twenty four to fourteen with
one thirty left here in the first half or back
after this thirty second break.
Speaker 4 (01:13:58):
Here on the kicker.
Speaker 3 (01:14:08):
Opelika answers a pink road fourteen oh run with three
and the dog stretch there lead now twenty four to fourteen,
ten point advantage here for the Bulldogs of Opelaka. Just
one twenty seven left and Reese Beasley a high, booming,
end over end kick. Yeah, that goes halfway into the
end zone. So that was a great kick there by
Reese and the Patriots will start from their all twenty
(01:14:30):
yard line, first and ten and coach time for the
defense to come up. Defense has got a pick six,
they've got one of the scores, one of the touchdowns tonight.
Speaker 5 (01:14:39):
But the last two times they backed the ball, they've
ran on us then thrown but ten passes, but they've
gotten a lot of yards out of their running game.
Speaker 2 (01:14:49):
In the second quarter, Myerson has been here.
Speaker 3 (01:14:53):
Other than the pick six that Myers threw, he's been
really good. He line up with again five wide receivers.
Looks here, three to the left and two to the
right side. Myers out of the shotgun, drops back, looks
right across the middle. It's caught tackle made by Carson
Moss the linebacker Amari Smith comes up with the grab
(01:15:14):
and he's got it up to the thirty one yard
line for an eleven yard pickup and a Pike Roade
first down, five wide. Look again, Myers drops back pressure
throws near side and that one is picked off by
the Dogs. Hopelike has got a Carson falls Dogs haven't
picked off by Carson Moss. Intercepted, intercepted, Big time interception
(01:15:35):
there by Carson Moss at the thirty five yard line
of Pike Road. He cut right in front of that one.
That's the linebacker with good hands. Coach, Wow, that was
huge right there, big time interception. Now the Dogs with
a minute and eleven left here in this second quarter,
I have a chance to add some points here leading
twenty four to fourteen.
Speaker 2 (01:15:53):
Big big interception.
Speaker 4 (01:15:56):
Boy, it was a it was a close call.
Speaker 3 (01:15:58):
I didn't know if the official was to rule him down,
but it certainly looked from our advantage point like he
got his paw under that one. Great job right there
at the thirty five yard line of Pike Row where
the Bulldogs will have it first and ten.
Speaker 2 (01:16:14):
Got plenty of time.
Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
Then yeah, I'm in ato eleven left and Opalaika still
with a couple of timeouts. Here is a play action
throw and in and out of the hands. That was
a great defensive play by Patrick Carter. He stepped in
front of Quez Johnson and knocked that one away and
that stops the clock with one o six left. There
(01:16:36):
is a flag on the play too, and that is
against Opeliko. I think they're gonna get ineligible man downfield
and Opalaiko. That's where that RPO comes into play there,
and one of those linemen got down field a little
too fully.
Speaker 5 (01:16:57):
Like that, you get a man down field.
Speaker 3 (01:17:01):
Che quizy alright, So back to the forty yard line.
It'll be first in fifteen Opelaika. Colby Key rolls to
the right, throws on the run. This one is caught
by Brody Jones, just a couple of yards shy of
the first down, down to the twenty eight yard line.
Great kids, that's good for twelve yards as he got
Brody Jones second down in two. Great throw by Colby
(01:17:24):
Key and a good job finding Jones downfield. Now forty
five seconds left, the dogs go two white either side.
Key drops back, steps up, takes off. It's gonna run.
He's got the first down. And Key still on his
feet inside the fifteen and Key finally pushed out of
bounds at around the fourteen yard line. That's a Lambert
transfer and storage first down and close to fourteen yards
on the scramble by Key. It'll also stop the clock
(01:17:47):
with thirty three seconds.
Speaker 9 (01:17:48):
Left the bull and.
Speaker 3 (01:17:50):
I know a p Alaika still at least a couple
of timeouts in their back pocket.
Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
Here, we got all the timeouts left.
Speaker 4 (01:17:56):
Well, I have used one.
Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
They didn't take it off the scoreboard when we almost
had that delay a game. But that's the only one
that I know of with you. So Coach Moore should
have two thirty three seconds left, twenty four to fourteen
O Polaika leading by ten trying to add to it here,
and it is a first and ten at the Pike
(01:18:19):
Roade fourteen yard line. Key pressured again. Key steps up
in the pocket a flag down as Keys hit down
at the five yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:18:27):
It looks like it.
Speaker 3 (01:18:27):
Could be another hold down, and there's some pushing and
shoving going on after the play by That flag was
thrown back at the line of scribbage, so we'll see, Yeah,
it's going to be it's in the holding land. The
Dog's otfitsive lines had a tough night tonight trying to
(01:18:49):
block these guys from Pike Road. At least in this
first half. We'll see if the depth can come in
here in the second half. Coach Moore wants to come
over and have a word with the white hat, but
it is as a hold against Opalaiko with twenty three
seconds left, and that's going to back the Dogs back
to the twenty four yard line, So a big ten
(01:19:10):
yard penalty, so it'll be first down still, but just
twenty three seconds left. Kind of running out of time
here and Dogs still with a couple of timeouts. Calvin
Hugly will be in the game to the left of
Kolby Key. You'll be interesting to see the halftime adjustments
(01:19:31):
made from both of these coaching staffs. Coach because Hope
Likeness kind of struggled offensively and RPO games kind of
got into the defense a little bit here late in
this half. Two white outs to the left side, Singer
receiver to the right. Here's key out of the shot
going looks like an option play. They'll toss it here
to Calvin Hugly and Hugly is cut down right at
(01:19:53):
the twenty five yard line. I think you lost to
half a yard and coach Moore will have to come
in and take a time out. With just thirteen second
it's left. I got one left, one more time out
left and we'll step aside quick time out here as well.
You're listening to bulldog football here on the well coaching
(01:20:18):
o Filagos hopeing to get in the end zone here,
but now with just fifteen seconds left, may just have
time for one more play and a time out here,
depending on if you take a shot into the end zone,
but you certainly want to get some yardage here to
at least get you an opportunity for another Reech Beasley
field goal if possible. You got to come away with
some kind of points here.
Speaker 2 (01:20:33):
I think you right, oh, I think I think we u.
Speaker 5 (01:20:38):
This will probably be our last play and then we'll
shoot for the field goal.
Speaker 2 (01:20:42):
See if we can.
Speaker 3 (01:20:43):
Make this twenty seven, fourteen and a half, all right,
twenty four to fourteen right now, just fifteen seconds left,
five wide. Look here for kolbe Key. He drops back,
throws deep but well out of a reach of Jamari Miller.
He was about three yards out of bounds.
Speaker 2 (01:20:57):
Cash and that will be Jamari Miller.
Speaker 3 (01:21:00):
Third down, but ten seconds left, so an opportunity for
one more throw. Ten point six seconds remaining now as
it is third and long for the Bulldogs football down
at the twenty six yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:21:19):
Come on, guys, let's go fourteen seconds.
Speaker 3 (01:21:26):
It'll be a forty three yard field goal from here,
so it'd be a shot still, and I think coach
Shuck comes in and calls eight time out, so Pike
Road takes the time out, and while we got a second,
we'll head down for a four seasons Federal Credit Union
sideline report.
Speaker 4 (01:21:40):
Matt gotta get some points here.
Speaker 8 (01:21:42):
Yeah, man, look for something short here, get out of
bounds because we've got no more timeouts left.
Speaker 2 (01:21:46):
So yeah, that's disappointing to.
Speaker 8 (01:21:48):
Have it all the way down there and get getting those.
Speaker 2 (01:21:51):
Penalties against us.
Speaker 8 (01:21:52):
But like I said, you've got to love to go
into the halftime here with three points or I mean
or more here if we end up put it in.
So but get away with getaway three here at twenty
seven to fourteen, and you'd love to get that in
the way out. Things kind of unfolded here. I know
there's been you know, frustration, but you.
Speaker 2 (01:22:07):
Know you got to overcome that when you're looking to
achieve something, so over let's let's let's let's get three
out of this at least.
Speaker 4 (01:22:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:22:13):
I think the interesting thing in this second half, coach,
is how deep is this Pike Road defense? Because I've
seen a lot of the same guys out there on
every defensive drive, and you hope of the second half
that can wear on them. But they've really been playing
good inspired football here in this first half. And see
what the Dogs can do here just ten seconds left.
Speaker 5 (01:22:30):
And look for something where they can get at it
where they've got one time out left.
Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
So yeah, one time out remaining key though an empty backfield.
He drops back, throws and tries to get to Quies Johnson,
just not on the same page there, and seven point
three seconds left, it's fourth down. Dog is going to
have to try this forty three yard field goal now
from Reese Beasley. Turf field here at Pike Road. The
breeze is blowing and it is kind of blowing in
(01:22:57):
the direction of the kick here, so it could help rease.
Speaker 2 (01:23:00):
Yeah, I already have this win.
Speaker 3 (01:23:02):
Of course, it's kind of whipping and changing directions. He
may have to kind of kick a little bit to
the left because it's going to blow back right a
little bit as the breeze.
Speaker 2 (01:23:10):
This is a good hash to kick from boat.
Speaker 3 (01:23:13):
Yep from the left hash. Brody Jones will hold in
a time out taken by Granger Shook. Coach Shook there
and maybe Ice the kicker here. Big kick here, coach
in this game makes it a thirteen point game if
you make it, or a ten point game right now,
(01:23:36):
twenty four to fourteen. Opelaanco with the lead as we
play here in the end of the first half or
a minor Pike Road. We'll get the football to start
the second half as well, So very important to get
these points here. Jason Lee coming up here at the
half and he'll have a chance to run through some
of our first half statistics and also some oars from
(01:24:00):
around the area.
Speaker 4 (01:24:03):
We'll loss have a chance for.
Speaker 3 (01:24:04):
The Spirit of the South Marching Band to perform for
the folks here in Pine Road. Bulldogs out of the
time out, Coach Grangers Shunk taking that time out.
Speaker 2 (01:24:19):
Make sure we get a good staff here now.
Speaker 3 (01:24:23):
Reice Beasley will kick it from the left hash and
Brody Jones will hold. Eperson will do the snapping on
this one. The hold is down, the kick is going
to be.
Speaker 4 (01:24:37):
No good.
Speaker 3 (01:24:38):
Just sure Reese just didn't get all of that one
seven point three seconds remaining.
Speaker 5 (01:24:46):
Why did anything go off the clock? There was seven
point three when he kicked it.
Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
Well, Pike Road will come out and have seven seconds
to work with here, twenty four to fourteen, and tough
to the Bulldogs did not come up with any points
at all there after getting that interception by Carson Moss.
Speaker 5 (01:25:05):
Hey, Mac, there's still seven dress Are they gonna drop
it down to like two seconds?
Speaker 2 (01:25:12):
Good?
Speaker 3 (01:25:14):
Gee whiz pro football first and ten from the twenty
five yard line, so they'll have it from the twenty
five yard line. Pike Road will correction or the twenty
yard line, So we'll wait. The white hat has to
communicate up to the time that should have ran off
(01:25:37):
the clock. Yeah, it should be two seconds left, thank you. Yeah,
two seconds remaining. So Pike Road, see if they'll run
a play here, just kind of take this one into
the locker room and they will get the football to
start the second half and they will drop down to
(01:25:57):
a knee. So at the end of the first half,
Pike Road, after getting down twenty one nothing, scored fourteen unanswered.
The Bulldogs put up three after that, and it's a
ball game at the half twenty four to fourteen. You're
listening top like a Bulldog football.
Speaker 2 (01:26:10):
More from the.
Speaker 3 (01:26:10):
Half coming up after this right here on the kicker.
Welcome back here Bulldog Stadium, right well, head down. Matt
McCracken standing by with coach Moore.
Speaker 8 (01:26:25):
Thanks at coach, Thanks like man, Coach Moore. First half
highs low, some frustration. What'd you dressed to your dogs
a half? Well, we let him out of the hole.
Speaker 6 (01:26:33):
I mean, he can't be twenty one nothing and then
let a team out and go back to back, you know,
make it, take it football with a dang kick that
we've got a field.
Speaker 2 (01:26:40):
And the frustrating thing is we ran.
Speaker 6 (01:26:42):
From the next one too, and so you know we're
working through that and talking about how to get Jamari
up there. We can catch it, which he did on
the second one, but the ball can't hit the ground
on kick off ever, becomes a major issue there. So
you know, we're fortunate to take a two score lead
into half and rally back. But then defensive we got tired,
you know, we got tired on that long drive pacing
us and we've got a sub better and so that's
(01:27:03):
the biggest thing is when we're fresh, we're fine.
Speaker 2 (01:27:05):
But when they get us tired is when those creases.
Speaker 6 (01:27:07):
Happen, which is what happened on that bash run with
the Wildcat quarterback.
Speaker 8 (01:27:10):
All right, coach, let's let's do it the second half now,
let's finish it off.
Speaker 2 (01:27:13):
Thanks Max.
Speaker 3 (01:27:14):
All right, thanks so much. Matt McCracken and standing by
with coach More there. We'll take our final halftime break again.
Our halftime score twenty four to fourteen, Dogs with the lead.
We're back with your second half after this break here
on the kicker. We're back here at Patriots Stadium. A few
minutes to go here before we get ready for the
(01:27:34):
second half. Let's head down Mac McCracken with a four
seasons Federal Credit Unions sideline report. We heard from coach
more there, Mac, What did you see in the locker
room from the guys.
Speaker 8 (01:27:42):
Yeah, they were, you know, they were all split up
with their individual coaches and talking through you know, not
really heeded, not nobody blaming anything like that, just good
old conversations I about how they go on adjustice thing
the second half.
Speaker 2 (01:27:53):
But you know it's you.
Speaker 8 (01:27:56):
Know, it's if you look at this game, you start
off with the special teams, how the blow happened on
both sides to set up different scores.
Speaker 2 (01:28:03):
Okay, that's yeah, all wild.
Speaker 8 (01:28:05):
We just got to calm down and play good football.
Speaker 2 (01:28:07):
Hey, you know, I know, I know we're out. We're out.
Speaker 8 (01:28:09):
I think you said out outweighed on the you know,
with the with our offensive line compared to their d line.
They got some pretty pretty big, pretty big boys up
front too, and they're doing a great job stopping us
with with that as well as playing good defense. And
you know, they're look, they're they're going to probably be
in the you know, the six A title game. And
I hope, I hope we're in the seven A. This
is a good football team. That's why they didn't lay
(01:28:31):
down to quit either. You know, they were down twenty
one nothing and fought back off of you know, off
you know, off of our mistakes. Helped out a little bit,
but we got to just continue to get better and better.
This is like the second half. We got to improve
the second half. Like that said, let's run the ball
out better the second half, Let's execute a lot better
and wife off the mistakes. I think I think Van,
you said we had three turnovers and they had three
(01:28:51):
turnovers in the first half. We got to make sure
we erase those to zero. Come out here and we
got to stop. Coach Kenny Prescott was saying, uh, like Mack,
we got to have a three and out on this
opening drive. We got to have a three and out.
We got to be able to stop the run and everything.
So you know, if we do that, set up and
drive and uh and scor and just play some good
old dog football, all.
Speaker 3 (01:29:10):
Right, I like it, Mac, and it'll be Pike Row
getting the football to start the second half. As Dogs
leading here by ten, twenty four to fourteen.
Speaker 5 (01:29:18):
We got to get this first five minutes of the
third quarter, Van, because actually they still have the momentum
from the half because they had you know, they we
kicked the field goal and missed it, so.
Speaker 4 (01:29:32):
Well, the Dogs.
Speaker 2 (01:29:33):
Got to get the momentum back.
Speaker 3 (01:29:35):
You Opelika led this game twenty one to nothing, and
then Pike Road came out and they scored, had a
great drive eighty yard drive to go to cut into
the lead twenty one to seven, and then did a
squib kick as well. Should not shouldn't had a squib
kick a short kick here to the near side of
the field and nobody forro Palaika was there and Pike
Row was able to catch it. They got the football
(01:29:56):
back and answer that back with a touchdown. Yep, and
that's their two scores. And really Opalika had a chance
to add a couple of scores there got a field
goal and then another interception, and the Dogs missed a
forty three yard field goal late in the first half,
So a couple opportunities maybe to put touchdowns on the board.
Settled for three after that fourteen, oh Pike Road run,
and that's where we are now, twenty four to fourteen.
(01:30:17):
Certainly you got to feel like the momentum again here
is on the side of the Patriots as they get
the football to start the second half.
Speaker 4 (01:30:23):
So Reese Beasley.
Speaker 3 (01:30:25):
Has it teed up and we'll kick from left till right.
As Pike Road has had some trouble at times returning
the football. Jordan Holmes has dropped a couple on the ground.
He dropped that punt early in the game which led
to Opelika his first score, but he also had the
good wildcat touchdown run.
Speaker 2 (01:30:41):
Looks like he's not gonna kick it Peete.
Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
And it will be a short kick and it will
be fielded at the twenty five yard line. A big
seam opens up here near sigh. But a good tackle
here by the Bulldogs of the thirty four yard line,
made by cord Ingram, and the Patriots will start from
their own thirty four right thirty five yard lines where
they'll say he was down, So good field position here
for the Patriots from their own thirty five kicking into
(01:31:07):
the wind, Coach I think had a big factor. It's
pretty blowing, really really heavy, right.
Speaker 2 (01:31:12):
This is a big series right here in that van.
Speaker 3 (01:31:15):
Absolutely, as coach Prescott said, it was a must stop here.
Meyer's out of the shotgun here, opening series here for
the Patriots out of the half and there's a handoff
to the tailback Jones, and he's met by the middle
linebacker Ty Hudson and a pack of dogs there, but
he still gets up close to four yards up to
the thirty nine yard line. Wind really blow into the
(01:31:39):
back of the Patriots, so they've moved from right to left.
As you can hear it here coming through as we're
a top the home press box here, coming to you
from the Orthopedic Clinic Broadcast booth. Second down and six
play coming up here for the Patriots. The other hand
off to Jones. This time he stood up at the
line of scrimmage, but good second effort and he almost
(01:31:59):
gets the first down. He does up to the forty
five yard line. He got six yards after the initial
hit at the line of scrimmage, but he just kept
churning those feet and they'll mark him actually a yard
shy of the first down to the forty four. So
it'll be a third down and one here for the Patriots.
Malik Country in that first group of defensive linemen and
Jakai Likefoot the big fellas and they move. That's gonna
(01:32:22):
be a big five yard penalty. So this will be
a third and six now coming up here for the Patriots.
That's not quite as devastating as the whole opal like
it had at the goal line, Coach, but that's a
big one there, and it's gonna make it a third and
six where Case Admers, the quarterback for Pike Road, is hurt.
This opal like a defense is scrambling around when he's
(01:32:42):
had pressure, and he'll be interesting to see what Opealaika
does here.
Speaker 2 (01:32:46):
Yeah, they're gonna chuck it here.
Speaker 4 (01:32:47):
Now, okay, you.
Speaker 3 (01:32:48):
Do have four down linemen ten forty three. We're just
underway here in this third quarter. Here's a third and
six for Pike Road. Myers gets pressure from both sides,
steps up in the pocket, throws late, and it's incomplete
and almost intercepted. Bolly Ty Hudson was there and coverage.
The metal linebacker kind of got crossed up and he
was in coverage, but did a good job. And that
(01:33:09):
was good pressure on the quarterback, yes.
Speaker 2 (01:33:12):
Sir, And they were all over him when he let
that ball.
Speaker 3 (01:33:14):
Go, but he still almost threw it down and he
gives a good job of keeping his eyes down field.
Speaker 5 (01:33:20):
But good job by coach Press, good coach holes, bunch
of pro.
Speaker 3 (01:33:26):
So Jamari Miller is deemed to punt, and now they
bring him our bag deep to receive the punt. I
should say it's Mason Hussey back to punt. They bring
Miller in because this punter is gonna be kicking with
the wind. They bring him back a few steps, I
should say, and Hussy shanked this one. Yeah, this one's
gonna hit at the forty yard line. He ain't gonna
take a bit of a pike road roll around to
(01:33:47):
the thirty eight yard line. But O Blaco should have
good field position.
Speaker 2 (01:33:50):
Yeah, that's a shank ah good.
Speaker 3 (01:33:55):
One thing though, like is gonna be throwing into this
intense wind. It is really whipping into the face of
Opalaika now, so that could really hurt this passing game
a bit. Well, you don't have to fix run the football.
Speaker 2 (01:34:09):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (01:34:10):
Well, something opal like a struggle with so far coaching
this game.
Speaker 2 (01:34:13):
Yeah, we're half fifty two yards.
Speaker 3 (01:34:18):
Calvin Hugly is the tail back, and they'll give it
to Hugly trying to find some running room here near side,
trying to string it out in Calvin doing a good
job pushing the pile up close to the forty four
yard line. But they'll mark him down at the forty three.
Just a four yard pickup.
Speaker 9 (01:34:32):
After the five yard game.
Speaker 3 (01:34:35):
Well, let's go me be a five yard pickup. They
mark him at the good at the forty.
Speaker 5 (01:34:40):
Nice little sweep action had his two big guards pulling
center back blocking.
Speaker 3 (01:34:46):
Yeah, they give them the forty three yard line, so
it's second down and five good five yards on the ground.
There you've got that. Five men rushed my Calvin Hugly.
Key gets the shotgun, snap turns to the right, now
back left and through the hands of Calvin Hugley, the
ended receiver coming out of the backfield. That just went
through his hands, and it's going to be third and five. Well,
you don't want to go three and out right here after,
(01:35:07):
You've got to stop on Pike Road.
Speaker 2 (01:35:09):
Dead come it.
Speaker 3 (01:35:11):
Nine forty one left of the third quarter, twenty four
to fourteen. Our score, Opelika with the lead.
Speaker 2 (01:35:18):
Need a big play here.
Speaker 3 (01:35:19):
Now, Hugley stays in as your tailback. You've got Jamari
Miller lined up here to the right. One wide out
to the left side. That's Brody Jones, and now they're
going to bring both wide receivers in tight here on
third and five, five down Lineman, it's a reverse plate
to Miller. Miller was some running room. Miller cuts it
(01:35:41):
up at the midfield. He's got the first down. Miller
is down to the forty eight. Good creative play call
there by J. D. Atkins and Coach Moore. As it
crosses midfield to the forty eight to Pike Road nine
yards and a bulldog first down.
Speaker 2 (01:35:55):
Bulldog big play, big play.
Speaker 3 (01:36:01):
At the Pike roade forty eight. Now first and ten
for the Bulldogs. Boy, the DJ gets his work in here.
Did I tell you they playing something every down? Calvin
gets the handoff left side. Big run by Calvin inside
the forty. They'll cut him down right at the forty
actually gonna cut him down to the forty one yard line.
Still a good run there by Calvin got seven yards. Boy,
(01:36:23):
I thought he was gonna he just hadn't had that
burst tonight quite like we've seen.
Speaker 5 (01:36:27):
You know, well, they're playing, they're playing eight guys within
five yards of the ball and he bounce out on
to the outside.
Speaker 3 (01:36:34):
But yeah, Jordan Waits now checks of the ball game.
There's been nothing up the middle. These guys up for
Pike Road, Gavin Rodgers, Corey Timms at defensive lines.
Speaker 4 (01:36:43):
Done good.
Speaker 3 (01:36:44):
Here's they throw out into the flats to Waits. Waits
cuts it at the forty. Waits gets a block at
the thirty five and Waits down to the thirty four
yard line. That's gonna be seven yards and a Lambert
transfer in storage. First down. Good job throwing it out
of the backfield there to Jordan Waits as he gets
the first down down.
Speaker 2 (01:37:00):
Good play a good play, So.
Speaker 3 (01:37:03):
Lambert transfer in storage, first down, eight forty left of
the third quarter, Dogs leading by ten. Trying to add
to it here up twenty four to fourteen on Pike Road.
Good drive, good draw, your post got him. They're gonna
say he got him back across Goodness. The defensive line
shifts over here for Pike Road. Wait stays in there
at the tailback spot. They'll fake it to wait to
(01:37:24):
throw back quick with Johnson here nearside Johnson? Is that
twenty five twenty when Johnson is gone, but a flag
down on the play, it is gonna come back. As
Ques Johnson scored and they throw a flag at the
twenty on one of the wide receivers. I think blocking downfield,
a hole is coming back. So the touchdown wiped off
the board here with eight sixteen left. Goodness, gracious, they
(01:37:50):
a tough hole there on Opalaika. That's gonna wipe out
a good bit of that run. It will end up
being a three yard pickup, so it'll be first down
in our two yard pickup, I should say so to
be first down and eight that's okay.
Speaker 2 (01:38:16):
That's okay.
Speaker 4 (01:38:17):
Down at the thirty two yard line of Pike Road.
Speaker 3 (01:38:20):
Still playing that five to three key out of the
shotgun hand off goes two weights Waights, trying to find
some running room, cuts it inside the thirty. Yeah, they're
gonna mark him down at the twenty nine yard line.
So that's a three yard pickup. Eight oh five o
clock running here in the third quarter. Great ice to
make fen laws six yards yep. So this will bring
(01:38:43):
up a second down and five for the Bulldogs at
the twenty nine yard line of Pike Road seven fifty
left here in the third quarter of play, Fan riggs
with coach Spence McCracken mac McCracken roaming the sidelines. This
time Kobe will go under center, quick hand off to Miller.
Miller's got some running room inside the twenty. Miller inside
the fifteen. He gets the sideline stutter steps at the eleven,
(01:39:06):
inside the five, and they say he's out of bounds
at the six yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:39:10):
A boy, big time.
Speaker 3 (01:39:11):
Run there by Jamari Miller, and that is a twenty
three yard pickup. Coach McCracken and another labor transferring stories
first down.
Speaker 5 (01:39:19):
Now, buddy, that is a speed, sweet god, it's a
great looking speed.
Speaker 3 (01:39:23):
Sweet now, and I backfield slate Clayton actually in there
at the full back position. On this first down and
goal play from inside the ten, handoff goes to Waits.
He's bottled up at the line of scrimmage and they
have lost to half a yard back to around the nine.
Speaker 9 (01:39:39):
Yard lockn Rogers.
Speaker 3 (01:39:42):
As we wind down to seven ten left in the
third score here would be big.
Speaker 2 (01:39:48):
Oh gosh, what are you talking about?
Speaker 3 (01:39:50):
Big gift, sir, And you got to come up with
touchdown here, no field goals here. Calvin Hugley checked back
in the ball game, two wide outs to the right
side of the field and he gets the handoff delayed.
Give to hugely Huglely trying to find some running room
left side. Huglely's inside the five tight RUPs the sidelines
and he is down touchdown. I thought they were calling
(01:40:12):
him out of the wood. Touchdown bull Hall with six
forty two left. Boy the far side official, he was
over there almost like he was gonna mark him at
the wood and then finally put his hands up to
sit a touchdown. Thirty fourteen ople like a big answer.
Wait Bulloss to start this second half.
Speaker 2 (01:40:29):
Wait to go way to go. Let's do a little
bragging here for this extra point.
Speaker 3 (01:40:35):
Nothing going to be automatic with this win, whipping right
into the face of Reese Beasley here for the point
after attempt.
Speaker 5 (01:40:41):
Traymont Thompson Afterson Jackson, Lee whit Whitlock, Whitworth, and David
Miller fire that fight. Great blocking up front, God thank
them offensive lineman.
Speaker 3 (01:40:53):
Baby, Yeah, they did a good job on that drive.
Here is Reese Beasley for the point after the hold
by Brody Jones. High snap, got it down and got
it through and that's score and dry and power by
Opal like a power services hometown people working for you
online at oplelakapower dot com. Six forty two left in
the third quarter, Dogs up down thirty one, fourteen on
the Patriots. You're listening to bulldog football here on the kicker.
(01:41:20):
Dog strike first in the second half and extend their
lead thirty one to fourteen. Over the pike Roade Patriots
Van Rigs back with coach Spence McCracken. Mac McCracken bringing
us our four seasons Federal Credit Union Sideline reports. We'll
get down for an update with Mac. After this kick
here by Rhys Beasley. He's gonna be kicking it right
into the wind again here against Pike Roade and he
puts a good boot into this one end over end win.
(01:41:42):
I'll knock it down at the nine yard line. We'll
be returnable here for the Patriots. Got a good job downfield,
they'll stop them at the twenty yard line, and that's
where the Patriots will start first and ten back. How
about a five four seasons sideline report, my friend.
Speaker 2 (01:41:55):
Hey, that great job right here by the offensive line.
I know y'all tie it them up, bro, Really good right.
Speaker 8 (01:41:59):
There, Hey, wait to respawn right there after the touchdown
being called back and keeping the ball on the ground
and running that great run right there by Calvin.
Speaker 2 (01:42:06):
But great job offensively, that right there is.
Speaker 8 (01:42:09):
A tremendous job, and that's what the offense need is.
Speaker 5 (01:42:11):
Mack, you make sure and tell Whitworth what makes the
left to hap him back?
Speaker 3 (01:42:17):
Shideline reports brought to you by four Seasons Federal Credit Union,
Hometown people working for you. That's Chicks thirty five and
the Patriots will have it first and ten for their
own twenty yard line. Quarterback gets the snap, tripped up,
slips of tackle, stays on his feet and manages to
(01:42:38):
pick up about two and a half yards middle linebacker
coming up making them stop Ty Hudson.
Speaker 2 (01:42:45):
Good job, good job.
Speaker 3 (01:42:47):
So he's second down to eight. As he gets it
up to the twenty three yard line. It would be
huge right here to get another three and out a
line of scrimmage the twenty two. Myers out of the
show gun gives it to the tailback Jones right side,
and Jones with a good surge right side, and he
gets up to the twenty eight yard line. That's gonna
(01:43:09):
be six yards, two yards shy of the first down.
A big third and two coming up here for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 5 (01:43:14):
D Come on, Smiley, Lightfoot, Autree, Thomas, let's.
Speaker 3 (01:43:21):
Go made them D live and two white outs to
the left side of the field. Myers out of the
shot gun gives it back to Jones, and Jones head
at the line of scrimmage, spins his way up for
a couple He's gonna get just enough for a first
down as he carries it across the thirty to the
thirty one yard line for three yards. He had a
Pike Road first down. Patriots trailing Hope AKA now thirty
(01:43:42):
one to fourteen five thirty seven left here in the
third quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:43:46):
Come on, d don't give him that don't let him
run the football.
Speaker 3 (01:43:51):
Two white outs right, two white outs left to either
side here for Myers, and a flag down on the
play and this should so that's against Afia. You think
it will be a motion penalty, we'll see. Yeah, they're
moving back, moving five so a false start, hey you go,
that'll back come back to the twenty six yard line.
So this will be first in fifteen now for the Patriots.
(01:44:13):
Five twenty nine left here in this third quarter, two
wideouts either side here for the Patriots. Meyers the quarterback
gets the snap, fake the toss, steps up, throws across
the middle and hit and knocks loose. Hussy was the
intended receiver. Keevy and King came in and hit it.
Made up pot there play baby. Oh he came in
(01:44:35):
and knocked Mason Hussey and hit him. And Hussy is
down on the field. So we've got an injury time
out boy. Kiev and King was all over that one
head hunting on that play in a and Hussy is
down on the field. So injury right here. Thirty one
fourteen our score Bulldogs with the lead. We're back after
this time out here on the kicker. Oh, well, Hussy
(01:44:56):
comes off on his own power. It'll be a second
down play. And here is the quarterback, Myers scrambling throws
and it is hauled in and caught at midfield and
all the way across the forty five and down close
to the forty four. That was a one handed grab
by Gavin Rivers. He somehow was able to hang on
to that one. That was an outstanding catch there by
the Patriots. And it's all the way down to the
(01:45:19):
forty two yard line. That is a thirty two yard
throwing ketch.
Speaker 5 (01:45:23):
Or are we having pressure in everything?
Speaker 3 (01:45:27):
What a second down and a mile play?
Speaker 4 (01:45:29):
Two?
Speaker 3 (01:45:30):
Myers drops back pressure throws tipped in the air, nearly
picked off by the Bulldogs. Nice job, Kiev and King
tipped it off. Leland Bill almost came up with the interception,
and it's second down and ten coming up for the
Patriots as the wind continues to whip around here at
Pike Road Stadium, thirty one to fourteen, Opelaika leading the Patriots,
(01:45:51):
but Pike rode on the move. Hussy's back in the game.
After taking that shot from King, he lines up at
the h back position. Myers out of the shotgun on
second and ten option play they'll pitch it out to
the white out Jones and Jones or the running back Jones,
and he gets down close to the thirty seven yard line,
(01:46:13):
so that'll be a five yard pickup and it will
set up a third and five, four down territory here
for the Patriots. Here, listen to the field at the
thirty seven of Oplaika. Quick hand off to Jones again
and the running back this time has got to be
stopped at the thirty four yard line, but still picked
up three yards, and it will be a fourth down
(01:46:35):
and two. I got a feeling the quarterback, it'll be
in his hands to make the decision here, all right,
run pass option.
Speaker 2 (01:46:45):
We got the four man front back in there. That's good.
Speaker 3 (01:46:48):
Fourth and two across the thirty five down to the
thirty four Here a four h three left in the
third quarter. Big down here for the Patriots. Come on,
Myers out of the shotgun here on fourth down. Quarterback
pulled it and takes it and runs it himself down
to the twenty five for the first down. That was
just too easy. He got ten yards, had a first down,
(01:47:12):
and he hurries back to the line. They're trying to
hurry up here. First and ten at the twenty eight
yard line. Jones the running back, right up to the
teeth of this Opalaika defense. They say the ball mayor
came out there at the end, but he was down
and had another good pickup on the ground there by Jamichael
Jones and Pikero trying to hurry up here down to
(01:47:32):
the twenty one yard line close to four yards or
more than that got six second down and four Jones
brought down by Alan Jackson, but he gotta be really
close to the first down as he carries it down
close to the eighteen yard line. Will be third and one,
(01:47:52):
third and one at the eighteen.
Speaker 5 (01:47:54):
Move what they were doing in the third quarter. We
need to stop from.
Speaker 3 (01:47:58):
Here third three oh five left to quick hand off
to Jones again and Jones has enough for the first
down as he carries it down across the fifteen down
close to the fourteen yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:48:09):
Exact what they did in the third quarter, Day.
Speaker 3 (01:48:14):
Thirty one fourteen dogs with a leave, but Pike rode
marching down the field here with two fifty three left
in the third Myers lost the football and just throws
it away to the end zone. That should be grounding.
Nobody was around. He was not outside the pocket, and boy,
coach Moore comes in, he is living.
Speaker 2 (01:48:30):
Oh, there's nobody there.
Speaker 3 (01:48:31):
There was nobody inside, and he chunked at about ten yards.
They're going to say somebody was over there, but he
sailed away over his head. Boy, that was a tough
break for the Bulldogs. That could have been intentional grounding.
Second down in ten inside the fifteen down of the
fourteen option played Jones trying to bounce it outside. Jones
bounces off a tackle and he's round around the six
(01:48:53):
yard line running down that side for Pike Roade, and
this will be a third down and they can get
a first down inside the four yard line, so.
Speaker 4 (01:49:04):
It'll be a third and three.
Speaker 2 (01:49:05):
Three packed the box.
Speaker 3 (01:49:08):
Jones again gets the handoff hit down close to the two,
but I think he's got the first down. He does
first in goal coming up from the two. Here for
the Patriots when two thirty five left in this third quarter,
and again Pi Crow trying to hurry up Jones is
the loan back quarterback Myers gets the handoff and Jones
(01:49:29):
gets the hand off and he's stopped right at the
line of scrimmage. No gain on the play may have
picked up a yard at least second and goal from
the one coming up. It's kind of where a Balaika
was coaching. They got a holding penalty, yeah, and see
if the Patriots can get one here there's a time
out for an injured Bulldog down on the field, and
I believe that's Jamary or Amary Smiley. Now Maury Smiley
(01:49:53):
comes off and he's helped off the field, well just
casually jogs off on his own there, So he had
just gotten twisted up on the pile there. But it
will give us a quick time out for a moment
here on the field. But coach big one here.
Speaker 2 (01:50:07):
I had that.
Speaker 5 (01:50:08):
I got that big pass and play right down here
on third down and six, Oh goodness.
Speaker 3 (01:50:15):
See if the Bulldogs can find a way to keep
the Patriots out of the end zone as they have
been really gashing the dogs on this drive, marching it
down the field. Coach Moore still letting the light hat
hear it? I think about that intentional grounding car There
was nobody second down and goal from the two here
for the Patriots, case of Myers is the quarterback and
(01:50:37):
Jamichael Jones again the running back.
Speaker 4 (01:50:43):
Two eight remaining here in this third quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:50:49):
Myers gets it, tosses it out to Jones, and a
nice job by Ty Hudson to bring him down at
the one. Stopped him short and it's going to be
third and goal at the one. What a nice job
there by high Hudson.
Speaker 2 (01:51:01):
Great great man on man tackle.
Speaker 3 (01:51:05):
One left in the third Pikro trying to punch it in.
They got a third and goal from the one inside
the two, a little bit longer than a yard, but
not by much. The defensive line is hunkering down at
the goal line, trying to keep the Patriots out of
the end zone. Myers gets the snap, they go to
(01:51:26):
Jones and he lunges ahead and then they say they
stopped him short again.
Speaker 2 (01:51:32):
Oh, the Bulldogs come up with it.
Speaker 3 (01:51:33):
He fumbled waiting for the signal. No signal yet, bulldog
for the balls.
Speaker 2 (01:51:42):
Dogs got it at the one.
Speaker 3 (01:51:45):
Jones somehow fumbled and the Bulldogs come up with it
at the goal line.
Speaker 2 (01:51:48):
What a play boy, What a nice job.
Speaker 3 (01:51:52):
And that big fellow's up front, lightfoot autry and those
guys able to come up and make a big time
hit launch of Michael Jones three smiling Thomas, big hole,
big time turnover.
Speaker 4 (01:52:05):
But opall like is gonna have the football.
Speaker 3 (01:52:07):
From their own one yard line, leading thirty one to fourteen,
with one fifteen left here in this third quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:52:14):
Get to the fourth quarter where we got the win.
Speaker 3 (01:52:19):
Trival start at the one. Colby keel the out of
the shotgun here from his own end zone. He gets
the snap. Calvin Hugley or I should say Jordan waits up
ahead to maybe the three who stopped the clock. I
got to the four, so it'll be second down and eight,
(01:52:39):
got lady, the clock start like it stopped again, and
your player on the field. Okay, so somebody down on
the field of panc Robe Patriots. So we'll step aside
for a quick time out. One ten left in the
third quarter. We're back after this time out, opal like
a leading thirty one to fourteen here on the kicker
(01:53:06):
and your player for Pike Roade helped off the field,
and it will be a second down and eight coming
up here for the Bulldogs from their own right right
at their own three yard line and waiting for officials
to start this back play ready to go here, it
(01:53:26):
looks like we are with one on one remaining here
in the third kolbe Key checking the sidelines, changing his
play play clock down to nineteen, down to eighteen, plenty
of time to go. Key gets the snamp hand off
again to the running back. Not much room there. I
believe that was hugely who ran right.
Speaker 4 (01:53:46):
Take the time, take you time.
Speaker 3 (01:53:48):
Didn't get anything there, So it'll be third down to
eight thirty five seconds left.
Speaker 5 (01:53:53):
We can get this where we get the win behind us.
If we have to punt, take your time. I'm Kobe.
Speaker 3 (01:54:01):
I think they'll have to snap it here. I have
to run one more play down to eighteen, down to seventeen,
and the play clock down to nineteen. Key checks the
sidelines and again it will be third down. Here go
and eight for the Bulldogs from their own four yard
line and off left side nothing doing again, got a
(01:54:23):
yard maybe up to the four bomb period, and that
will be the end of the third quarter, showing to
be fourth down coming up for the Bulldogs. I'll have
to pun it back to Pike Road, deep in.
Speaker 2 (01:54:35):
Like a territory here.
Speaker 5 (01:54:36):
Well, I'm going to tell you I'm not coaching football anymore,
but if if I was, I would have called a
time out there.
Speaker 2 (01:54:43):
If I would have been Pike Road.
Speaker 5 (01:54:45):
Because the wind here is a really great pact right here, vyam,
and they'd make them punt into the wind, make us
punt into the wind.
Speaker 2 (01:54:53):
They get the ball back, get their own forty yard line.
Speaker 3 (01:54:56):
Forty yeah, thirty one fourteen. We're back after this time
out for the quarter.
Speaker 10 (01:55:00):
Here on the kickers w U kk R Auburn Opalaika
is Lee County's best country ninety seven point seven kicker
FN and iHeart Country Station.
Speaker 3 (01:55:17):
Getting set to start the fourth quarter. Dog's facing a
fourth down around a fourth and seven from their own
four yard line, and ople like punting away. But now,
as coach mentioned, the win at least is to the
back of opal Aycup.
Speaker 2 (01:55:33):
Yeah, we ought to get a good punt here.
Speaker 3 (01:55:35):
You gotta be very careful though on a snap because
Ion Henderson is back with us back to the end zone.
Pike Road will to back off on the coverage a
little bit and it will be caught and fair catch
taken at the forty eight yard line. So a good
punt there out of the end zone all the way
out to the forty eight yard line. That's where the
fair catch was taken by Amari Smith of Pike Road.
(01:55:55):
So the Patriots will have it first in ten at
the Okaalaka forty eight yard line. Right now, if you're
Pike Row, you're trailing by seventeen. The clock is against
you here with eleven fifty three left in this game,
and the wind is against you.
Speaker 4 (01:56:11):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (01:56:13):
We just got to play good defense. We got our
front four guys, we've got our.
Speaker 3 (01:56:17):
Starters in there, so it'll be a wild can't look
here for the Patriots. Here as again, we'll see Holmes
try to run it, and this time he's bottled up.
No gain on the play. A nice job there by
Amari Smiley and also Tremaine Thomas in there on the stop.
Speaker 2 (01:56:36):
Sure good took the quarterback right.
Speaker 3 (01:56:37):
There, Jordan's Jordan Holmes had nowhere to run on that
one for me once, not fool me twice, right, coach,
that's right. Second down and ten at the Opaika forty
eight here for Pike Road with eleven thirty left in
the game, Opal like up by seventeen here thirty one
fourteen Myers out of the shotgun. He's got trips to
(01:56:58):
the left side, wanting to bring a man in motion.
They'll be hussy moving from left to right. Give it
back to Jones. Jones hit right at the line of scrimmage.
Nice hit there by, Jakaia Lightfoot.
Speaker 2 (01:57:09):
I sorry that you kid up at oh. I know
he's feeling good to night.
Speaker 3 (01:57:14):
Six to three hundred and fifteen pounds senior out of
and he was there to greet Jamichael Jones. And it's
third and ten and the dog defensive coaches on the
sideline are fired up after that one. And here's a
third and ten for the Patriots.
Speaker 2 (01:57:28):
Great job, miss Lightfoot, raising that boy like this.
Speaker 3 (01:57:32):
Good two white outs either side. Myers brings a man
in motion. Smith goes from left to right of the
laid handoff and a nice tackle there by. The Bulldogs
going nowhere because Braiden Stinson was there to wrap out
the tailback Jamichael Jones and laid hand off to Jones
and Braiden Stintson did a nice job. And boy, if
Stinson's not there, coach, he picks up a first down.
Speaker 2 (01:57:54):
That's a back door draw.
Speaker 5 (01:57:55):
We used to run that all the time at Lee
and Opelika too and make him.
Speaker 2 (01:58:00):
Chunk of yardage.
Speaker 4 (01:58:02):
That was back when the Percy Julian was rolling.
Speaker 3 (01:58:05):
Yes, sir, hey, fourth and nine and pag Pike Road
is going for it here oh, here we go at
the opal like a forty seven yard line. Myers play
action throws and it is caught Hussey wide open inside
the twenty five yard line for the first down, and
they will say he's down at the twenty one.
Speaker 4 (01:58:24):
Yard line for another.
Speaker 3 (01:58:27):
Well, a big time throw on fourth down for twenty
six yards and a Pike Road first down.
Speaker 4 (01:58:32):
Lloyd, that was a good throw too by that quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:58:36):
Pike rudelyers to Hussy on a little slant, quick slant
for the first down, first and ten at the twenty one.
Quarterback wants to run, spends his way out of one tackle,
but Ty Hudson is there and he picked up a yard.
I'll give him two. It looks like her maybe one
down to the twenty.
Speaker 5 (01:58:52):
Don't let him run the ball. We have play better
defense on the secondary.
Speaker 3 (01:58:56):
Gave him two down to the nineteen, so second down
an eight, nine thirty four left the game.
Speaker 4 (01:59:01):
Let that clock run that time. Not on the side
of Pike Road.
Speaker 3 (01:59:04):
Here as a trail by seventeen thirty one fourteen Bulldogs
with the league just nine to twenty five left here
in Pike Road, two white outs to the left side. Meyers,
the quarterback gives the ball off to the tailback again Jones,
and not much there. He got down to the seventeen
yard line, so that's gonna be another two yard pickup.
Speaker 2 (01:59:23):
Tyler moorees in there now too. You know, Tyler been hurt.
Speaker 3 (01:59:27):
Boy, Jamichael Jones has not had much help as far
as running the football. He comes out now as they
send in another running back. That's Patrick Carter who checks
in the ball game now to the right of case Admers.
Speaker 2 (01:59:39):
Third and six, man.
Speaker 3 (01:59:40):
Two white outs to the left side here on third
and six, they'll give it to the tailbag and he
breaks a tackle, got off of one. But then the
Bulldog defensive line comes in there and Tremaine Thomas wraps
him up. Boy, I thought Carson Moss met him first.
He's fun out of that tackle.
Speaker 5 (01:59:56):
There comes the biggest play of the game right here,
fourth and five.
Speaker 3 (02:00:00):
Four th and five at the sixteen yard line. He
got one yard on the play. Eight twenty seven left
in the game and another fourth down fill it up here.
I think he's gonna throw absolutely and he's been good
doing it.
Speaker 2 (02:00:14):
Yeah, we gonna rush four this time.
Speaker 3 (02:00:16):
I'd watch another quick slant too. Yeah, Okay, jumps back
in at the running back spot and they'll fake the toss,
throws the ends on Hussy is wide open for the touchdown.
My goodness, same exact play, just the opposite side, and
it got the Dogs again.
Speaker 4 (02:00:36):
That time.
Speaker 3 (02:00:37):
They faked the toss with it and Hussey was coming
across the middle again on the slant. And it's eight
oh six remaining. Hussey scored last week and they're winning
against Percy Julian. That's his second touchdown of the season.
And that really two fourth down conversions on that drive too,
(02:01:01):
and that one the big one for the score. So
here's Connor Hall for the point after a tempt. The
hold is down as blocked by the Bulldogs and it's
no good. So that makes it an eleven point game, thirty
one to twenty. A nice job there by the Bulldogs
coming in. I believe that was Kav and Keen who
blocked that. It's eight oh six left in the ball game.
(02:01:23):
We're back after this time out. You're listening to the
Bulldog football here on the kicker.
Speaker 4 (02:01:35):
Dog.
Speaker 3 (02:01:35):
He's like to be ready for any type of crazy kick.
Here from Pike Road is a Patriots trail by eleven
with eight oh six left, and we've already seen a
short kick that was fielded by Pike Road.
Speaker 2 (02:01:47):
Y'all better move up. We better get somebody in the
middle of the field.
Speaker 3 (02:01:51):
Jamari Miller is up and we'll see they'll kick it
down the middle of the field and it will be
caught at the two yard line. And taking a knee
at the twenty three yard line was Jalen Washington. Well,
I'm not sure. I don't know if that was a
(02:02:12):
call from the field or what for that was a
That was a kneel thereby Jalen at the twenty three
yard Line's interesting.
Speaker 8 (02:02:21):
Mac, that's an interesting call there, Butcher, Yeah, yeah, Well, like, hey,
let's show that offense again again right here. Get a
good running game here, drive that clock, you go down
there and score.
Speaker 2 (02:02:32):
Just get a good running game here we go, all right?
Speaker 3 (02:02:35):
Four seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report, Mac McCracken there,
and this would be a huge opportunity here for this
Bulldog team to put this one away. Here from the
twenty three yard line, Kolby Keith throws out to Miller.
Miller far side of the field, turns it up field.
Good stop there by the Patriots. Those four yards Julius
Lane on the stop, got close to five yards.
Speaker 2 (02:02:57):
Yeah, that's good. That's good after the five yard game.
Speaker 3 (02:03:00):
Good job, guys up to the twenty eight for a
five yard pickup. Dogs taking their time here seven forty
one left Pike Roade. Really loading the box here on
that run game and Opelika has yet to really take
a deep shot passing tonight and this will be like
a second down in looks about like a second and
(02:03:20):
six here for Opalaka.
Speaker 2 (02:03:21):
They got seven in the box.
Speaker 3 (02:03:24):
Okay gets the snamp, thanks it to Hug He throws
it out here to big Blake Johnson. Johnson up to
the thirty thirty two, thirty three yard line.
Speaker 2 (02:03:32):
That's good, Davari Johnson.
Speaker 3 (02:03:34):
And that is a four yard pickup. Gonna set up
for a third and short coming up here for Opelika
here with seven oh four left, third and one, Julian
Pritchett checks of the ball game. We'll see Jamari Miller
check out Julian another one of those big guys at
the tight end position. Ball is at the thirty two
yard line of Pike Road. It'll be third in a coin.
Speaker 2 (02:03:56):
Here comes the belly or the power.
Speaker 3 (02:03:59):
Hi four mation and they got Johnson the full back
and Calvin Hugley is the tailback. They'll give it to
Johnson right side, and Johnson's got enough for the first
down right across the first down marker up to the
thirty four yard line. That was a two yard pick
up there by the big fellow Blake Johnson.
Speaker 5 (02:04:15):
Great job, offensive line, Jabari Johnson sick job.
Speaker 3 (02:04:19):
Six thirty four left, Dogs up by eleven here, six
thirty four left in the fourth quarter, thirty one to twenty.
Speaker 9 (02:04:25):
Why from their thirty four yard line.
Speaker 3 (02:04:29):
He's yet to blow the whistle? Huh he's yet to
They didn't. Oh yeah, but coach Moore is over there.
I think he's yeah. I know he's wanting to know
why it hadn't started either.
Speaker 2 (02:04:38):
They don't stop the clock to move the chains. That
gumm it.
Speaker 3 (02:04:44):
Six fourteen left. Now the clock is running and Kolby
Kee will go under center. Blown back is Calvin hugely
everybody in tight here six to oh three, Kobe letting
that play clock wind on down, and he is continued,
have to let it wind on down under nineteen down
to eighteen. Kobe letting that clock wind trying to bleed
(02:05:06):
every second he can and now he'll bring Jamari Miller
in motion. They'll fake it to Miller, give it back
to Johnson here inside hand off and Johnson's up close
to the forty yard line. That was close to six
yards thereby Johnson one of those offensive lineman Darius Whitlow as.
Speaker 4 (02:05:24):
If he helped off the field.
Speaker 3 (02:05:25):
He comes out and rolled his ankle.
Speaker 5 (02:05:27):
Oh Whitlow, don't get hurt, Dearius.
Speaker 3 (02:05:31):
Carmel Torber checks in the ball game to replace him.
Played here in the fourth quarter. Dogs up thirty one
to twenty at Pike Road, five sixteen left in our
ball game, and the Dog's trying to run this clock
here up by eleven, thirty one to twenty. Key out
(02:05:52):
of the shotgun formation. Now with Calvin Hugly to his
left end, they'll give it to Hugly right side.
Speaker 4 (02:05:57):
Calvin turn it.
Speaker 3 (02:05:58):
Upfield across the forty five cal and pushed out of
bounds near midfield. Good run there by the big fellow
Calvin Hugley for ten yards and a Lambert transfer and
storage first down.
Speaker 2 (02:06:08):
That's good.
Speaker 5 (02:06:08):
Kean Ope, you're here to watch you boy there right job.
Speaker 3 (02:06:12):
And we were wondering, coach, how long could this defense
hold up against this run game.
Speaker 2 (02:06:17):
He didn't go out of found.
Speaker 4 (02:06:22):
He did go out of bounds.
Speaker 3 (02:06:22):
That the forty eight is where they stopped him short
of the fifty, but still a first down.
Speaker 4 (02:06:28):
Dog's moving from right to left and.
Speaker 3 (02:06:31):
Four point fifty four left in the ball game here,
Dogs up by eleven, thirty one to twenty.
Speaker 4 (02:06:40):
Come on, gods checking in the ball game.
Speaker 3 (02:06:42):
The running back position is Jordan Waits, and Waits gets
the hand off. Waits stopped at the line of scrimmage
there Good stopped there by Pike Road and coach Hook
quickly comes in and will burn a time out, and
we'll step aside take a time out as well. Four
forty nine left in the game. Dogs up thirty one
to twenty over the Patriots, and we're back after this
time out. Right here on the kicker thirty one twenty
(02:07:07):
Dogs of the lead, four point fifty left in the game,
and Kolby Key out of the time out. He'll shift
his line from right to left. That'll be Blake Johnson
and the tight end Julian Pritchett and Key will work
out of the shotgun brings a man in motion, they'll
give it to Jamari Miller. On the speech week Miller
going the wrong direction and we got a flag down.
Miller got pulled down from behind. No flag on that boy.
That could have been a horse collar there on Miller.
(02:07:29):
We're going to have a hold and then a tough
tackle on Jamari Miller and we'll have to wait for
the white hat to sort this one out here, going
to be a hold. It looks like against Oplaika.
Speaker 2 (02:07:41):
It's it's against it is worn against them too.
Speaker 5 (02:07:44):
I think looks like the head coach is talking is frustrated.
Speaker 3 (02:07:49):
Four forty three left in the game. White hat trying
to sort this one out. I think it's going to
be against Opalaika here, and they're just trying to figure
out if they want to take it or.
Speaker 4 (02:08:03):
Take the penalty.
Speaker 3 (02:08:04):
If it was a hole, it's from the line of scrimmage.
And there was a loss on the play. Oh yes,
oh it was a yeah yeah, offsetting penalty, so there
was a they do the playover, Yeah, targeting penalty against
Pike rous.
Speaker 5 (02:08:19):
Hey mac over that tell Old Hugly when he gets
over there not to go.
Speaker 2 (02:08:25):
Out of bound.
Speaker 5 (02:08:26):
He's got that, Yeah, okay, I need to stay in bound.
Speaker 3 (02:08:31):
Four forty three left, Hope like a moving right to
left up eleven here thirty one to twenty, trying to
run this clock out. Dogs now second and ten after
those offsetting penalties, Dogs again from their own forty eight
yard line. Key moves Washington in motion and they'll give
it to Calvin Hugley, and Huglely had three guys on
(02:08:51):
him before he could even get the hand off. They
are really crashing down and that you're gonna bring coach
Shook in for another time out. It's gonna be third
and eleven.
Speaker 5 (02:09:00):
So he's got one left right, I believe so, So.
Speaker 3 (02:09:06):
We'll step aside time out on the field back after this.
You're listening to Bulldog football here on the killowg. He's
trying to run this clock out. Four thirty seven left
Opelika up by eleven, thirty one to twenty. Van Riggs
alongside coach Spence McCracken. Mac McCracken roam in the sidelines
for US and Jason Lee assisting on our broadcast tonight
(02:09:28):
as well. Out of the time out, third and eleven
for the Bulldogs and just four thirty seven left, boy,
you'd love to dial up a first down here, Coach
somehow shotgun. Snap goes to Key drops back, wants to
throw down field throws and it is in and out
of the hands intended for Jalen Washington at the thirty
eight yard line, kind of behind Jalen a little bit.
Speaker 2 (02:09:50):
I know Jalen.
Speaker 3 (02:09:50):
Probably would think that was one he probably could have had,
would have been enough for the first down. And it's
gonna bring on the punting team here for thirty one
so that in completion will stop the clock and give
Pike Road to shot here for thirty one left to
get the football back. They will send numbers zero. That's
Amari Smith back deep. Z Ian Henderson will punt. He
(02:10:13):
stands at around the thirty four yard line. Good snackery
and Henderson gets a nice end over end, booming punt
and Pike Robe will let it bounce and it gets
down into the end zone, just into the end zone,
so it'll come out and Pike Rode will have it
from their own twenty yard line here with four twenty
three left. Travel defense got to come up with a
(02:10:35):
stop here. Coach McCracken, Well.
Speaker 5 (02:10:37):
If we can't let them, our safeties, can't let that
guy go down in the middle of the field. Mac
they're gonna try that down the middle.
Speaker 2 (02:10:47):
Of the field again.
Speaker 3 (02:10:48):
Do with the safeties all right, four thirty four to
twenty three remaining here in the ball game.
Speaker 2 (02:10:57):
We've got to get pressure on this quarterback.
Speaker 3 (02:10:59):
Man hope like e leading thirty one to twenty. Man,
here's case Ad Myers and the offensive Pike rode back
out on the field. They got two wide receivers either
side to Michael Jones to the right of Myers. Myers
drops backs, got time throws across the middle of the field,
tipped and nearly picked off boy up like almost Tyreese
(02:11:20):
Pitts almost out of another on his birthday.
Speaker 2 (02:11:22):
Penalty.
Speaker 3 (02:11:23):
Gall Lee, I'm when a flag down in the secondary.
Speaker 2 (02:11:29):
He threw it way after the play was over.
Speaker 4 (02:11:34):
Oh, I completely missed what this could possibly be.
Speaker 5 (02:11:36):
Say it's interference. The coach came out there and started
yelling and screaming. I can't understand that, Fan.
Speaker 3 (02:11:47):
I did not see the interference. We have no way
of having replay here, but a personal foul targeting against Opalaika.
So that's gonna move it all the way up to
the thirty five yard line of fifteen yard penalty.
Speaker 4 (02:12:01):
That's the second one we've.
Speaker 9 (02:12:02):
Seen the ability doesn't get silf like that.
Speaker 3 (02:12:08):
So pie croud from their own thirty five yard line,
just four seventeen left. Myers drops back, pressure comes and
he's wrapped up. That's gonna be grounding. He threw it
out of bounds behind him, and we have yet to
see the flag cut in. That should be intentional grounding.
And there comes the flag. Boy, Coach Shook and them
are trying to plead their case. Well, he threw it
(02:12:29):
over his shoulder, and now, boy, they're going to conversate
about this one, and there's no way this could have
been grounding. He's gonna pick the flag up. Oh, he's
not gonna pick the flag up. He's gonna keep it down.
So grounding is a lost down. Yeah, and it's a spot. Yeah,
it's gonna be.
Speaker 2 (02:12:47):
Get back from the spot. Let's go fifteen.
Speaker 4 (02:12:51):
Coach Shook not gonna win that argument.
Speaker 5 (02:12:53):
Fists the Patriots.
Speaker 9 (02:12:58):
We vault for the loss of.
Speaker 3 (02:12:59):
Yard and four eleven left in the ball game, thirty
one to twenty our score, and we'll go dogs up
by eleven.
Speaker 5 (02:13:06):
We got that three man rush. We're gonna truck try.
I think we're gonna bring a.
Speaker 3 (02:13:10):
Fourth Meyers out of the shotgun. Two white outs to
the left side of the field. Dog showing blitz from
the corner. Here comes the pressure on him. He steps
up in the pocket sack back of the twenty yard line.
There's a Mariy Smiley and a Smiley sandwich for a
big time loss on the play.
Speaker 9 (02:13:28):
May finally.
Speaker 3 (02:13:30):
Three point fifty seven and the clock continues to run.
And that was a huge loss on the play. It's
gonna be third and a mile back at the twenty
one yard line.
Speaker 5 (02:13:38):
They had that three man rush and they brought that
fourth man and got great pressure on it.
Speaker 3 (02:13:42):
Trips to the left side. Now they'll bring Hussy in motion.
Now two whiteouts either side. Myers drops back, dumps it
out of the flats to Jones. Jones got some running
room and Jones finally brought down to the thirty yard line.
It's gonna bring up a fourth down and fifteen, but
a big time pickup there all right.
Speaker 4 (02:13:59):
Here you get four Jones.
Speaker 9 (02:14:03):
On the tackle.
Speaker 2 (02:14:04):
Here's your game.
Speaker 9 (02:14:05):
Fourth and fifteen for Pike road So.
Speaker 3 (02:14:07):
Here's a fourth and fifteen for Pike Roade. Just three
eighteen left in the game. Here trips to the right,
single receiver to the left side. Myers rolls the pocket
here near side, trying to throw it downfield, and it
is caught for a first down of the forty eight
yard line. As he hooked up with a Maury Smith
d Mary Smith threeh eight remaining Bulldogs trying to substitute
(02:14:30):
some folks on that secondary. After the bird and two
whiteouts either side, Myers out of the shotgun. It's the
stamp looks near side. Pressure boy Ever, somebody tackled in
the backfield, no flag, and they throw deep downfield overshot.
His intended wide out, Elias Holsclaw, was the intended target
number fourteen game in the play, second in Pike Road
(02:14:56):
three to two point fifty eight remaining here in the
ball game. After that incomplete pass, it'll be second down
in ten Patriots from their own twenty eight yard line
or from their own forty eight yard line. I should
say dog showing pressure again here just two fifty eight left,
Dogs up by eleven. Here's an option to play. Quarterback
(02:15:18):
pulls it running near side, tight ropes that sideline and
he's pushed out of bounds at around the forty two
yard line, and that's gonna be enough for a first down.
Good run there by the quarterback. He got close to
eleven twelve yards put him in that writ set one
for the Patriots nine yard pickup two fifty two. Time
is running out on the Patriots here where they're moving
(02:15:40):
down the field. They're up trailing by eleven here thirty
one to twenty. And here's an insight give ja Michael
Jones as popped in a hit by Tremaine Thomas right
at the line of scrimmage. He didn't get enough for
the first down. So that will move the chains. With
two point fifty left here in the ball game, so
(02:16:01):
it'll stop the clock momentarily here. Now it'll start back
to forty eight and case and Myers is going to
go back from the shotgun formation here at the Bulldog
forty one yard line. Fires drops backs, got time, steps
up in the pocket, goes deep down fields, got a
man and it is knocked away. Knocked away by the
Bulldogs braind and Howard and coverage. And that was a
(02:16:25):
touchdown saving play there by Braden Howard. It was intended
for number twelve Levi Kelly, but he almost had a
touchdown second down in ten two thirty left hey get
Bulldogs up by eleven here thirty one to twenty with
(02:16:45):
the Patriots trying to give themselves a shot late here,
Myers throws one out of the backfield to Jones and
nice tackle there by Carson Moss. He comes up and
gets them for a one yard loss and did not
allow him to turn up field.
Speaker 2 (02:16:58):
And that's her last time.
Speaker 3 (02:17:00):
Coach Schuck comes in and takes Pike Road's last time
out with two twenty left here in the ball game.
Speaker 2 (02:17:07):
That was an outstanding play by our dbat.
Speaker 3 (02:17:10):
That was certainly was timeout on the field thirty one
twenty We got two twenty to go. We're back after
this time out here on the.
Speaker 2 (02:17:16):
Kick Jessicas.
Speaker 3 (02:17:23):
Coach Granger burns his last time out as thirty one
to twenty two, twenty three remaining here in the ball game,
and Pike Croad will face a third and eleven from
the Bulldog.
Speaker 4 (02:17:33):
Forty two yard line.
Speaker 3 (02:17:36):
Myers out of the shotgun, two wide outs to the
right side, single receiver to the left side. Myers gets
the stamp, steps up in the pocket, got some pressure
flushed here near side, still on his feet looking down,
feel throws as he heads towards the sideline and it's
nearly picked off, almost intercepted by court Ingram as he
runs out of bounds, and this will bring up fourth
down to eleven. Another fourth down. Boy, I don't know
(02:17:58):
how many Pike Roads converted. I think at least two
three coach tonight.
Speaker 2 (02:18:01):
You're right.
Speaker 4 (02:18:02):
One of them was for a touchdown.
Speaker 5 (02:18:03):
Where we let them lose contain right there we rush
five guys.
Speaker 3 (02:18:07):
Well, somebody's got to watch Hussy on that slant route. Yeah,
number seven has really right. I wouldn't bite on any
type of a toss. Fuck here, I don't. They're going
through the air here on fourth and eleven.
Speaker 5 (02:18:20):
He's gonna rush forward this time. He got his best
football player.
Speaker 3 (02:18:23):
And you gotta watch quarterback scramble too. He's been good
at the forty two and a fourth down here for
the ballgame for Pike Road, trailing by eleven here with
two fourteen at the Bulldog forty three and they moved.
That's gonna back them up five yards and then it'll
gonna it will be a fourth and sixteen coming up
now for the Patriots.
Speaker 9 (02:18:42):
There's a flag of the play. Well, sorry, Paul against
Fine Road.
Speaker 3 (02:18:48):
That will back into the fourth to the forty seven
to fourteen left again in our ball game, open like
a leading by eleven here thirty one to twenty Patriots
right at midfield here at the Bulldog forty seven yard line,
going from right to left, play action quarterback hits sack
(02:19:10):
Ty Hudson's going to bring him down back in the
forty four yard line, and that we'll do it turnover
on downs with two ten remaining in the ball game. Bield,
I'm already smilely, a little slow to get up, but
I think you realize, you know what, we just won
the ball game. So we kind of a little ankle
roll there and he comes off the field and the
(02:19:33):
Dogs will have an opportunity to come out and run
this clock and head back up. I eighty five to
Lee County with a win on the road here at
Pike Road tonight with the Patriots for two white outs
to the left side of the field, just to spread
things out, and you know who's getting to number six.
Calvin Hugley gets the hand off right side Calvin inside
(02:19:55):
the forty and Calvin's going to be close to a
first down as he carried it down close to the
thirty eight yard line.
Speaker 2 (02:20:04):
We'll get one more of the ball career.
Speaker 3 (02:20:06):
I tell you what this quarterback case, Ad Myers is
going to becoming ople like and next year coach is
a junior and he is a really good quarterback. Second
down in three coming up here for the Bulldogs. As
the Dogs can wind this clock down to one forty
one and continue to watch it wind down coach Shukin,
but Patriots will have to watch as they are all
out of timeouts.
Speaker 5 (02:20:30):
Brian and them need a win like this. This is
a this is a this is a good football team.
Speaker 3 (02:20:34):
They play well, absolutely and after two pretty easy wins too.
Here's hugly right side hugely gets the first down. He's
brought down at the thirty five yard line, right at
the first down marker.
Speaker 4 (02:20:45):
That should be enough.
Speaker 3 (02:20:46):
It is for a Lambert transfer into storage. First down
thirty one twenty dogs running this clock out here, and
there is an injured player down on the field.
Speaker 4 (02:20:59):
One of the Bulldogs is actually slow to get up, so.
Speaker 3 (02:21:02):
Quick time out. You're listening to bulldog football. One's sixteen
to go. Dogs up by eleven. You're listening to bulldog football.
Speaker 4 (02:21:07):
Here on the kicker.
Speaker 3 (02:21:12):
And your player for the Bulldogs, that was Blake Johnson.
Slow to come off the field, certainly. Hope Blake's okay,
big full back for the Bulldogs and Opelika now with
one sixteen left, it's going to go in victory formation here, coach,
and drop to a knee and take this win and
get ready for Dothand getting ready for Dothan. That's going
to be a challenge next week. And boy, get ready
(02:21:34):
for the spinning play and the quick hand off the
inside into rounds. And they got a quarterback you can
throw it pretty good this year too. They've been putting
up some big numbers offensively. Kolby Key drops back to
a knee and takes a knee, and we're down under
a minute now to go, and pin Crow cannot stop
the clock. Dogs are going to get out of here
(02:21:55):
thirty one to twenty a winter tonight over the Patriots,
and Opelika gonna improve to five and one on the
season before a big tough stretch coming up at Dothan
Enterprise Central and at carverd in the season. And I'm
gonna need all the Bulldog fans next week to make
that two hour trip down south down four thirty one
round the Ross Clarks Circle to Rip Hugh Stadium to
(02:22:17):
Dothan because it's going to be a big one next week.
As Opalaka gets set to take on Dothan, Koby Key
drops down to one last knee and that we'll do
it here from Pike Road Stadium. The Bulldog's a winner tonight,
thirty one to twenty. Coming up next, we've got your
postgame show on the way and we'll visit with coach
Brian Moore as the Dogs win at thirty one to twenty.
Back after this time out, you're listening to Bulldog football
(02:22:39):
here a week is we're back here at Pike Road
Stadium again. Our final score thirty one to twenty, and
we'll see if we can get up Coach Brian coming
up here in just a minute. But uh, we've got
to evacuate the press fox up here pretty soon.
Speaker 4 (02:23:02):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:23:04):
We've got a tight space up here and we've got
everybody trying to clear out around us. So we're going
to do our best to get down and let Matt
get a few quick words with coach Brian Moore as
we continue here on our post game show again, thirty
one to twenty. Final score here, coach, what are your
thoughts that was a gutsy win for this Bulldog team.
Not a lot of thing that went good for the
Dogs and had a chance to kind of pull things
(02:23:25):
away there.
Speaker 4 (02:23:25):
At the end, but you know, you gotta win.
Speaker 5 (02:23:29):
The player of the game, the player that I liked
was Pike Roaes quarterback.
Speaker 2 (02:23:36):
I'm sorry, but he is. Hey.
Speaker 5 (02:23:39):
We had to pressure him van because he made two
big plays in the second half, and then we finally
started pressuring him and we're able to get.
Speaker 2 (02:23:47):
You know, not let him score anymore. Yeah to me,
to me, that was still that was the game.
Speaker 5 (02:23:54):
And then week we made some bigs on offense and
we scored that last touchdown to get a thirty one,
and I think I think.
Speaker 3 (02:24:03):
That would be Yeah, absolutely no doubt about it. Coach
Moore talking to his wife Lindsey and some folks down
around him, and I know Mac and Jason standing by
trying to get in with him, and he's ready. Yeah,
he's ready, all right, mat go ahead, all.
Speaker 8 (02:24:18):
Right, Coach Moore, congratulations on the win over Pike Road. Hey,
you knew this was going to be a tough battle tonight.
Your team was ready for this. I mean it was hard,
Like we talked about it a halftime, up down adversity.
They came out differently, fought hard the rest of the way.
Speaker 6 (02:24:33):
Yeah, I thought, you know, again, just like I said
at halftime that you know, we had the momentum and
then you know, we let him out of the hole.
Speaker 2 (02:24:39):
You know, and then they got it.
Speaker 6 (02:24:40):
We had an issue and kick off return that can't
happen that we that we worked on ky Lee, but
we got to clean it up.
Speaker 2 (02:24:45):
That's my fault.
Speaker 6 (02:24:46):
I've got to do a better job of getting us
in those right spots because that twenty one second we
give him an expossession, they score like the next play,
and now you're in a whole different ball game. But
then after the half we got to stop, you know,
beginning a third quarter and then drove down and scored
a touchdown. I thought that was massive and the difference
in the ball game. First five of the third quarter.
Speaker 8 (02:25:02):
All right, coach, let's go back to that real quick
in the mentality that you were thinking. I was actually
behind you right there with I think there was one
fifteen left to go in the third quarter. That goal
line stand happened, you, Yeah, board to your team right
before that fourth down, snap boys, keep playing, keep playing.
Speaker 2 (02:25:20):
Describe that motion behind that.
Speaker 6 (02:25:22):
We haven't done that, that's not been part of us yet.
And for us to get a stop right there, that
was the nineteenth play of the drive. Incredible job of
our defensive staff of subven guys and keeping fresh bodies.
Speaker 2 (02:25:34):
That's what hurt us that first drive.
Speaker 6 (02:25:35):
They scored on to make it twenty one to seven,
but we had fresh pas in there. Man, it's kept fighting.
That's who we're becoming. And that might be a defining
moment for us. I know, you know that would have
just closed it to two score game, but it was
so important right there to get that stop. Stand up
different guys right there, and Mari end up recovering the fumble,
but different guys stepped up in that moment. I thought
that was a huge for our not just our team,
(02:25:56):
but our program moving forward.
Speaker 8 (02:25:57):
All right, coach, And lastly, you know this week we're
in into a you know, hurricane type thing and off
day where they're out of school everything. And now you know,
on a ride down here me Vana, Pops and you
know we're talking about amen corner here we come, yep,
get ready for rip you stating with Dothan and just
take us through of what the work week's going to
look like going forward and prepare for Dothan this this
coming up week.
Speaker 6 (02:26:18):
Yeah, first off, I thought it was huge for us
to handle the day, really the last twenty four hours.
Speaker 2 (02:26:23):
First off, our prayers go out to those families.
Speaker 6 (02:26:25):
You know, that's a tough deal, and we're and you know,
praise the Lord that that thing went east of us,
you know, and because that thing was headed right for us.
And I told our kids, man, next twenty four hours,
just be careful. They came back in ready to go,
and I was really afraid of that, honestly. Truthfully, I
think two months ago we wouldn't have handled that like
we did today, And that shows the maturation of our team.
But next week's going to be huge. You know, every
(02:26:46):
week gets bigger and bigger. Dothan's a great team. We'll
have to go down there, which is a tough place
to play. We've all experienced that, you know. But but
I think our kids are getting ready for that. You know,
we're we're in a little bit of a groove right now,
you know, with this football team being five and one,
and we need to go play really well because this
will be a really unorthodox team on the road that
we'll have to really play well.
Speaker 2 (02:27:06):
To be all right.
Speaker 8 (02:27:07):
Coach, congratulations on the big win. Have fun with your
dogs on the way up eighty five to seventeen at Parkway.
Speaker 4 (02:27:13):
No doubt, go dogs.
Speaker 3 (02:27:14):
All right, thanks so much, make appreciate it down there
on the field. We're gonna wrap things up here as
everybody tries to clear out of here on top of
the press box for the North Pete Clintic Broadcast booth,
where we've been all night long. Coach enjoyed that one
and always loved the trip down south to Dothan, And
we'll see you down there next week.
Speaker 5 (02:27:28):
Yeah, I'm not gonna say any thing about any referees
I'm looking. Oh and by the way, I would like
to tell the Alabama State marching band I.
Speaker 4 (02:27:39):
Think us stay more down.
Speaker 2 (02:27:40):
There, please don't play.
Speaker 3 (02:27:44):
Yeah, that was certainly an interesting trip down there last time.
We hopefully have better results this time as we head
down south next week. Don't forget Brian Moore's show coming
up next week on Wednesday, it'll hit social media. Coach
Moore's lunch will pick back up and fortunately unable to
have that la this past week with her Kin Helen
rolling through back at First Baptist Church, Opelaikah next week
at noon on Thursday of the three sixteen building. You
(02:28:07):
can RSVP earlier in the week if you forget to RSVP,
come on anyway. Coach Moore has some guests with him
as well, and then Friday night at rip Hughes Stadium.
Endth in our next broadcast again your final score here
from Pike Road Opelikah winner thirty one to twenty over

Revelitation High School Scoreboard Show with Jerry Bivarwin, Eddie Owen
