you bring up being able to havea lot more players hit the court.
What did you see from those roleplayers that make you excited for the
future of the squad and just makeyou excite for the rest of the season,

knowing that you have a pretty good, pretty good depth in that bench.
Well, I think what excites usis this. You know, everybody's
locked in, enthusiastic, and weobviously did see some positive plays and the
kids are playing hard, and youknow, I think we got a little

bit of everything. You know,we got some size, some athleticism,
we had some skill. You know, we're just really excited about the group
kids. Your opponent tonight is desMoin North the Polar Bears. They have
a good offense. They've kind ofstruggled defensively. The last game out against
Anthony Centennial they allowed ten threes.Jack Winner, of course, coming off

of a really strong night from shootingthe deep ball. Abe of course had
a few good shots as well.Is that going to be a point of
attack? Is getting the ball outto the perimeter? Well, you know,

of understanding the feel of the gameand knows when to speed it up but
also when to slow the game down. Well, I mean, I certainly

require I think tonight's game with youknow, they play a smaller lineup,

sense of where we are at templewise, and when to be in transition

confidence. And it was a hardfought contest with Roosevelt and we hadn't been

I think it's going to be atough matchup for us, and we're
certainly going to have to be atour best. What do you see from
Des Moines North that you think couldmaybe be some advantages for aims but also
some stuff that you may have toworry about outside of, of course,
what we've talked about with them pushingthe pace, Well, I think the

size is a give and take.You know, a lot of kids around
the sixty two sixty three six'four market that are multi skilled, so
you it could be an advantage forus offensively as we try to play it
to the rim, and it couldbe tough for us to match up with
some of our bigs defensively. Theylove the pace, I mean to the

point where any shot is a goodshot and kind of the hockey mentality,
and we have to be able toaccount for that, and I think that'll
be a challenge for us. Whiteand Fod average thirteen points per game for
the Polar Bears. How do youplan to slow them down? And the

Des Moines North Polar Bears. Despitefalling on the road to Incany Centennial eighty
two to fifty one, the PolarBears still sit second in the South standings

five, five players averaging six pluspoints. Something I mentioned to coach Vancetowns

really good job of that. ABoss was cutting baseline and they were finding
bounce passes him. The Murray Showdunk to start the game was all because
of players moving without the ball givingopportunities to Will Thomas and Jack Winner to
dish out those passes. I'd saya Night in there as well to dish

right here and I said, I'mtired, and I just sat on the
sidelines all night long. So wekind of knew that was going to be
an up and down kind of hecticpace. And we tried to tell the
guys, don't that's the pace theylike. They liked that fast trapping,
lots of possessions, and we gotinto that a little bit and that kind
of sped us up. And wecan play fast. We'd like to play
fast, but a couple of timestonight it felt like we're playing too fast.

And you saw at the end wekind of slowed down a little bit.
You know. We talked about Cameron'spassed to manning the basket. Will
had a late layup, so wetalked about playing forward and playing under poise,
and it didn't look like it sometimes, but a win is a win,
is a win. That's a reallygood basketball team. That is a
really good basketball team. So that'sa great win for our guys. Yeah,
North able to get a lot ofoffensive rebounds and second chance opportunities in

that first half. But man,in the second half, it felt like
you guys were able to crash downon that a little better. Was that
a goal in the halftime? Yeah, it didn't feel like it. It
felt like they got every rebound whenyou sit over there. But that's a
that's always been a goal for us, is limited offensive rebounds by our opponent.
And we're not real big. Youbeen here a lot, so we're
not real big. So we haveto fight and battle for every offensive every

defensive rebound, and they have somuch bounce and length and it just feels
like one little tip and you don'tget two hands on it. You know,
they poke it away. So wegot enough. I'm interested to see
how many offensive rebounds they had.Coach Ferdinand said it might have had twelve.
