games of five days. Just howhas that benefited the team? Well,
uh, you know, the runninggames was tough, and it's certainly nice
to teach your and get your breath, uh, get your feet under you

a little bit. But uh,you know, you also want to stay
in a rhythm. You know,this time of year, it's pretty common
to play two games a week.That's just that's just the rhythm of the
season. And although we might youknow, much appreciate it break, we
had quite a rush. It's it'stime to get back on the floor.
You were challenged in the season finaleagainst Southeast Polk. How did that benefit

you though? Moving into the postseasonwhere man, it doesn't matter what the
team record is, you are goingto be challenged night in, night out.
Well, I think it's it's aterrific reminder that there's no h nothing
can be taken for granted, andbeing put in a game like that where

on every possession is critical if youwould hope that it does nothing but make
you better for the playoffs as wecontinue forward. I'm looking at the Mason
City roster right here, and theyhave some good length on that roster.

kind of how does this team preparefor that size and how do you guys
who the team has been doing areally good job of battling on the board's
most offensively and defensively, how doyou keep that going forward? Well,
I think we've got to focus onwhat we've been successful at and continue to

team that has went young, iskind of playing with house money and playing

I thought it was. It wasa much closer game than the final

time we played them. We hadsuccess with some press, with some pressing,

got out in transition and capitalized.So we'll have to see how they they
do tonight. Usually teams get muchbetter as the season goes on dealing with
press situations. They'll probably give usa little more zone. You know,

more zone, and we're going tohave to respond to that. And then
when they're and Sanchez Evans really reallygot going last time we played them,
and if it wasn't for the press, we may have seen a much tighter
game. A Vos, a keyplayer on this game's offense, has only

scored six points in the last twogames. Kind of what has been the
strategy to maybe get him more openand get him rolling early tonight. Well,
number one would be keeping him onthe floor. You know, I
think a dealt with a number ofthings. I think there is some fatigue
involved with all those games in arow, which may have led to early

foul problems. In almost all thosegames, he picked up too early early
and we had to set him soI missed just a huge part of those

I've all done a great job ofbeing our Scout team guys and Uh replicating
their opponent's offense and their opponent's defense, and getting our varsity guys playing the
games really ready for the game.So they did a great job preparing us
for that, running their opponent's plays, simulating their actions you know on my
and my driver, et cetera.So they did a great jobs. Always
good when those guys get in anddo something good, even if it's a

good pass for great defense and play, but it's always fun to when those
guys get in there. They've definitelyearned the time. So can you just
go into depth about how Isaiah Knighthas been able to take that role of
Will Pomis through because Will Thomas haskind of dealt with some injuries and he

of talk about how Isaiah's been ableto adapt and put up twenty points when
you need him to. Yeah,he's he's a good player, and I
just now early on in the season, I think he just wasn't sure what

of like football, the number onequarterback gets seventy five percent of the reps
and the number two gets twenty fiveand that's what a little bit was Isaiah.

He was getting, you know,thirty percent of the reps, and
then it was like he played agame and then hey, all right,
you know there's two baskets and agreat stop, so let's give him forty
percent. Then more reps. Andthen as soon as he started getting more
reps and more playing time, yousaw him get comfortable and I don't necessarily
say relax, but he kind ofunderstood where guys were going, where should
the ball go, where should Igo? So a lot of it was
just experience, reps and then confidence. So he's all those things have happened,

and he's become more confident and he'sa good player. And the guys,
you know, the left hand iskind of tricky. A lot of
people don't know how to handle theleft hands sometimes, but that's that's basically
it. A lot of guys haveWe all have faith in him, we
all believe in them. It's justa matter of a few more reps,
a little more practice, a littlemore confidence. And you saw tonight.
His big job tonight was guarding numberthree. He's a really good young player
and he was one of our guysgoing into the games like, Okay,

this guy is going to be reallygood. We got to stop him.
And he had eight points, twohigh, really contested trees, and then
he got a layup on a referringabes comment on a miss blockout on offensive
rebounds, so we had eight points. So that was a huge. He
did a great job defensively, andthen you know, he poured in twenty
on top of it. So hardto argue with his night. So outside

of rebounding, let's ask what whatshould this team? What should fans expect
to see from this team more improvedcome Friday night? Oh, that's probably
good. The number one that'll bea big emphasis tomorrow when these guys meet
after school. That'll it'll be offensiverebounding because we're just not the biggest team
and we haven't you know, andwe're not getting a bigger that's one thing
you really can't. You know,you can always shoot better, Hey,
we can shoot more, shoot more, but sometimes rebounding comes down to can

get the ball? So that'll beone. And then, you know,
I thought a little bit early wewere a little nervous. You know,
it's a you know, you therewas a lot on the line here,
obviously, want advance. Winning seventeengames in the high school season is kind
of something we set we pride in, take pride in. You play twenty
one. You're guaranteed twenty two gamesin the season with one playoff game.

So he won seventeen games. That'spretty remarkable feat. And these guys have
done it. There's been a lotof good teams there, Dame Shy that
haven't done that. So I thinkthat was weighing on everybody's mind. And
then you want advance. You know, Isaiah's never played a upstate game,
or right, just never played asub state game, and he's never played
a sup state game. So Ithink the pressure builds a little bit.
You get that kind of off yourback and now it's like, okay,
let's go down to Johnson Friday androll the ball out and see what happens.
