(00:45):
as the girls will tip off firsthere in about ten minutes, and then
it'll be the boys. Around sevenforty five, the Ames Little Cyclones will
host Des Moines Hoover. The girls'Huskies are struggling this year, to say
the least, zero fifteen to Ohoeto seven in the conference. They're coming
off of a loss after against DesMoines link in fifty six thirty one.

(01:07):
That makes it now twenty five pluspoints they've lost by in five straight games.
Games, on the other hand,a little more hopeful despite losing two
straight. They've been one in threein the last four games. They still
sit second in the Iowa Alliance Conference. They have been out and scored seventeen
plus points in the last two games, only lost by seven against the number

(01:30):
one team in the Iowa Alliance Conferencethat's Mason City, but Felaceedar Falls fifty
seven point seven and Norwalk fifty fiveto thirty eight. But there's a lot
of potential to get back on theright track here tonight eleven to zero,
dating back to twenty eleven against Hooverfourt and to this season though when coming
off of a loss, so ColeCook, the head coach of the Little

(01:53):
Cyclones, will definitely have his teamgeared and ready to go, and it
will come on the hands of CarsonPaconen twenty one points in the last two
games combined. She had some helpthough against Cedar Falls, with Aby Maguire,
the big senior forward, scoring tenpoints helping her out there. But
a lot of names here were theames Little Cyclones that could have big nights,

(02:16):
and that's a Nissa Percival could havea big one. Victoria Williams,
the freshman guard, we talk abouther consistently because just she does not play
like a freshman and she plays threetimes her size as well. She's coming
off of a nine point performance. But the big news regarding the lineup and
could hurt the Little Cyclones in depthtonight is sophomore guard Sofia Hatcher is out

(02:38):
tonight with the sprained ankle. Somethingbig watch there. Sofia Hatcher on the
season only averaging one point eight points, but man, those are some big
two points that she adds. She'sshooting forty three percent from the field,
fifty three percent from the free throwline. She is someone who brings energy

(02:58):
defensively and like we said, justadd step to the Ames Little Cyclone squad.
So the eight and seven Ames LittleCyclones hosting the oh and fifteen to
Morne Hoover Huskies here tonight for thefirst tip off of our doubleheader. We'll
go ahead, take a break andcome back with our pregame coaches interview with
Cold Cook here. When we comeback. You're listening to Ames High Basketball

to the Ames High Girls Varsity basketballpregame show. Justin Miller now joined by
the head coach Cole Cook. Sofirst off Coach Thank you so much for

(05:34):
taking time out of your day andjoining us. Yeah. Absolutely, thanks
for having me on. It's beena tough stretch. We were talking about
it right before we started recording, but one in three in the last four
games. But you've had a quickturnaround with four games in six days.
Has that been the main factor tokind of the struggles here lately? I'm

(05:58):
sure that it doesn't help for sure. You know, playing back to back
games, back to back nights, that's that's rough. You know, the
fatigue sets in, especially with thestyle of play. But a big thing
is as we lost Sofia Hatcher toa pretty pretty rough sprained ankle. So

(06:20):
she's got a doctor's appointment today.We'll see how that goes. But she's
a she's a key part of ourdefense and our rotation and you know,
trying to figure out who steps upand in that position. That's been a
tough one for us. But we'vealso played some really tough teams, so
see, the falls is very wellcoached. Greg Groan does a really good

(06:43):
job. So yeah, it's justa couple of tough teams. It's easy
staying positive when you're winning. Butwhat have you seen from the girls,
that is encouraging during the adversity you'vebeen facing. Yeah, I mean,
and I see it a kind ofover over, but our goals are just
really good at that, probably becausethey've struggled so much. Seeing some success

(07:09):
really goes a long way, youknow. So being eight and seven,
tying our win streak with you know, our win our wins with last year
and we still got you know, six games left or so, that's big.
But just us telling them, youknow, most of the time,
we're in the right positions. We'reyou know, we can only say it

(07:30):
so much, but we're this close. You know, we're this close to
some of these games. Nor Walkon Saturday is not a seventeen point loss
in my opinion, it's we're thatclose to competing and beating that team.
And yeah, so it's it's justwe're we're so close every time, and
we watch film and it's it's just, well, we should be here and

(07:51):
not here, you know, we'rea couple of steps off or a couple
of steps off, and so yeah, we're just so close. But a
little bit of of confidence with somewins goes a long way to these girls.
Could you go more in depth thanto like what are you seeing on
film that are encouraging to that pointof like, man, see right here,

(08:11):
we did X, Y and Z, and that's why we're so close.
Yeah, with this our our defensebeing you know, the big part
of it. We talk about havingto be midline ball side mid lines,
so we're trying to take away thethree near passes and only give the overthrow
uh, and so a lot ofthe times it's just we forget that we

(08:35):
want to leave the overthrow pass andthat we should be at midline because the
defender feels like we're too far away. But it's really hard to make that
pass when you're getting trapped all theway across the court to the corner,
and we feel that if we givethat pass up by the time it gets
there, we can either steal itor we're on ball defense. So that's
a big one is just if you'reoff ball, you're your mid line.

(08:58):
And then the other thing offensively isjust finishing layups. We struggle with that.
We'll get to the basket. Wedo a good job of getting paint
touches. It's just focusing when wego up. So we're just those two
things are just dis close. Hasthe layups and three point shots been kind

(09:20):
of a point of emphasis throughout thesefew practices. I mean in between games
is what it feels like with yourcrazy schedule right now. Yeah, we
pretty much focused on just those thingsall year long. Huddle does a great
job. We send our stuff in, we can get a shot chart.

(09:41):
We are looking for layups or openthrees. Those are the two primary shots
that we want every single game.We want to limit jumpers. They're not
a very high percentage shot, sowe're trying to limit those. So if
we can get anything inside the paintand any three pointers, that's what we

(10:01):
we look for. And we've beenon that for the last you know,
two years, and they've done agood job. I mean, it's pretty
unbelievable. If we look at someshot charts, you know, from before
we got here, and then shotcharts from just the last couple of games.
Uh, it's pretty eye opening thatthese girls are are actually listening and

(10:22):
and uh and learning from us.So that's pretty fun to see. They're
buying in. That's right, they'rebuying in yep, especially defensively. You
know, we pray press on makesand misses, uh, and then on
offense we asked them to push theball. It's funny some of us,
me and some of the coaches willget in just to give them a different

(10:43):
look. For you know, CedarFalls is really really good and athletics,
So we'll get in and we'll playwith them a little bit and we don't
you know, we don't give themhouse credit for their conditioning because uh,
myself and the other coach will getin and you're always the end. Yeah,
we always get done and we're like, we can't believe we asked this
of the girls. They do itwithout hesitation and they're they're good at it.

(11:09):
So yeah, it's kind of funny. Throughout the whole season, it's
been fun seeing this team, theyrally around each other and going through a
little bit of a struggle here withinjuries. Who are you seeing that will
be a great contributor coming off ofthe bench that maybe hasn't been getting the
minute that they have earlier this season. You know, the two that we

(11:35):
we really looked to these last coupleof games was Jada Britain and Morgan Wall.
Morgan's a senior, uh, andshe's been really doing a role fairly
well this year. It's it's beena I mean it's hard. She was
a sophomore who put up the mostshots and average the most points on the

(11:56):
varsity team. Uh, and thenstarted to see and it's go down and
shot attempts go down. But everytime we put her in it's it's she's
getting five six points. So minuteswise, she does get in very little,
but we expect her to if shecan maintain what she's doing and be

(12:16):
productive in the minutes she gets.I think the rest of the year,
she's going to see her one herminutes go up. But also she's gonna
have a big offensive impact for ustaking on Hoover here tomorrow night. What
needs to happen for this team toget back on the right track. I
think it's just staying disciplined and reallyfocusing on what we do as a team.

(12:43):
When you start to play some ofthese, you know, higher level
teams, you know, top scoresin the state, right like Grace Knutson
is the top score in the state, Bailey Birmingham top score in the state,
you start to as a coach kindof re evaluate how you do things
as as a team for that gameplan, right, Like they're very high

(13:03):
efficient they like to push the ball, you know, Grace likes to shoot,
Bailey likes to drive, Like howdo we change these? And so
it kind of gets, you know, kind of in your head a little
bit like how do I adjust tothese girls? But it's really nice to
come back play some conference games andjust get back to doing what we do
best, which is defense and focusingon where we're supposed to be and what

(13:26):
rotations look like. So that's goingto be super important for us. And
being home never hurts either. Absolutely, we have a real big grind this
year. I think with the newgym. Last year it was it was
a little rough. Everyone wanted toplay here, so we had a ton
of home games and this year wehad very very few, so that was

(13:48):
a little rough. That was thehead coach of the girls varsity team,

Justin Miller Solo on the call heretonight for doubleheader action on fourteen thirty Kasi.
First up, it is the AmesLittle cyclone girls varsity team coming in
with an eight and seven, fourand one second in the Iowa Lions Conference
record picking on the oh and fifteensoh and seven in the Conference Des Moines

(15:33):
Hoover Huskies. So starting lineups forthe visitors, it will go Brooklyn Royster,
the Karus Smith, Elaina Jarrett who'sthe only player on the Huskies averaging
ten plus points, Ernstein Kennedy, and Eleanor Ekwall. And then for your
Ames Little Cyclones, it's the normalstarting five Carson paconan Anissa Perceival, Hayley

(15:54):
Precaution, Victoria Williams and Abby McGuire. Hoover wearing the away green jerseys with
yellow and white trim and numbers, and then Aims wearing their white home with
orange trim on the side and orangenumbers. Ames wins the tip. Here
we go girls basketball on the air. Peconing gets the cross court pass,

(16:17):
will fire up a quick three onthe left wing. No good offensive board
lay up with the right hand isgood, and Anissa Perceival gets the night
started for the Ames Little Cyclones tonothing here with seven forty to go,
Hoover bringing the ball up the courtquickly double team dried in front of us.
It's precaution and Williams forcing the turnover. McGuire there at mid court picking
it off. There's a good backdoorcut passed there by Pecona at the free

(16:41):
throw line to the left handed layuppercaution, and it's a quick four to
nothing lead for the Cyclones. Hoovercrosses half court, bringing it up the
court. There steadily is Smith. She turns it over though Precaution in mid
court picks it off. She putsup forward to McGuire who finds a nice
cutting Peconan with the right handed layup, and it's a quick six nothing leaned

(17:07):
here with seven minutes to go inthe first quarter, bringing up the court.
Now is Royster on the left sideof the hash Mark now gets it
stolen. That's Precaution running the court, lays it in with the right hand
and three quick turnovers by the HuskiesAims though applying the pressure still bull court
press. Royster in the middle ofthe court now gets it across the half

(17:30):
court line, that is to Jarrett. Jarrett now back out to Kennedy on
the left wing. Now she loosesthe wall and that goes off the foot
of a Nissa Perceival and it willstay here with the Huskies six and a
half minutes to go in the firstquarter, ball will be inbounded there by
Royster on the left block. Quickpass out to the top of the key.

(17:52):
That's a three up by Jarrett. That's long off the right side of
the rim. Now Here comes Peconaquickly out to Precaution. She pump fakes
from the right block, lays itup at short, but she was fouled.
The foul goes on Kennedy, sotwo free throws now coming up for
Haley Precaution. Haley Precaution on theseason and at the charity stripe averaging sixty

(18:15):
percent. She's also averaging four pointseven points per game. First free throw
is up and good. Nine tonothing and a quick timeout by the Hoover
Huskies at it as it's nine tozero with six pointy one to go.
Haley Precaution will be at the freethrow line when they break out of their
timeouts. Cool Cook talked about theimportance to getting off to a quick start,

(18:38):
and in my game notes here forkeys for Ames to win, I
wrote down rebound which Anissa Perceival gota big offensive rebound to start the night.
Steals they've gotten three already, andgetting that offense to run in traffic
and they've done that as well.So they've checked off three quick key check

(18:59):
marks here in the first two minutesof action. So same starting five on
the floor, out of the timeoutand needs a perceival. Victoria Williams carts
and Paconin, Aby McGuire and HaleyPrecaution at the free throw line. One
of one so far. Here comesthe second one. It's Ekwa, Kennedy,

(19:22):
Jarrett, Smith and Royster out therefor the Huskies. Perfect two of
two for Paconin and nothing. Herecomes Hoover, struggling to get the ball
across half court with that full courtpress defense by Precaution and Peconan, but
splitting the two defenders, the righthanded layup was short. She got foul,
but that was Elena Jarrett. Soshe'll go to the free throw line

(19:45):
to shoot two. The foul therewill be called on number thirty four,
Aby McGuire. She's coming off ofa nice week. Those scored ten points
two games to go against Cedar fallsfree throws up and long there for Jared
Jarrett, the only player averaging tenplus points. She's putting up eleven and

(20:07):
a half per game, shooting fortypercent though from the free throw line as
a team Husky shooting forty percent atthe charity stripe. Second one is long,
no good, so rebounded by Maguire. Here comes the fast paced Ames
Little Cyclones. A nice little stutterstep and dribble with the right handed lay
up there by precaution and she hasher eighth point already twelve nothing. Ames

(20:33):
Little Cyclones on top with five pointfifty three to go. Now struggling to
bring up the court is Jarretts. He's on the right side and got pushed
out of bounds there by Victoria Williams. Victoria Williams has great tenacity on defense,
but sometimes just a little too aggressivethere, So second foul on the
Ames Little Cyclones with five forty eightto go, twelve nothing. Some changes

(20:55):
here for Hoover Elah Davis coming infor Ernstein Kennedy. Davis bringing it up,
flips it over now to Jared onthe left side. She loses it.
That's stolen by Victoria Williams. Shealmost loses it, but it's picked
up by Perceival. She tries togo coast to coast, picks up her
dribble at the right block, swingaround to Victoria Williams on the left wing.

(21:18):
She drives to courts the middle ofthe paint and ice look at the
room, but miss the layup. So here comes Hoover with five point twenty
five to go. Welve nothing aimslittle cyclones on top. They get it
across half court on the right wing, it is Kennedy. Kennedy drives to
right towards the right block. Ilay up off the glass, no good
rebounded by Pecona and she kicks itout to precaution on the right block,

(21:40):
spins around, kicks it over tothe right wing to perceival and now here's
the good ball movement and three byWilliams on the left corner, and that's
long. No good all then reboundno bye Davis, and she gets it
quickly stolen by Williams. Numbers forprecaution and paconaan She finds Pacona on the
right block. Her layup is short. She gets her own rebound guarded by

(22:00):
four huskies and they get a steel. There here comes Jarrett. She's driving,
doesn't have numbers, has to bringit out to the right wing.
Now kicks it over dismiss She drivestowards the right block, layup high and
no good off the side of thebackboard, so at four thirty seven remaining
here in the first quarter it istwelve nothing Ames, little cyclones on top

(22:22):
of the Huskies. Some changes hereDeardorf comes in for Williams and coming in
for precaution is number twenty. Thatwould be Katie. Here comes a left
corner three by Perceival that short reboundedby the Huskies. For twenty two to
go in the first quarter, it'sbeen all Ames, little cyclhones early picked

(22:45):
out. Here comes a right wingthree that's airballed, rebounded by Deerdorf.
That was a shot by Brooklyn Royster, the senior guard. And here comes
becoming. She finds a railing perceivlnice outlet passing easy lay up for the
big forward and it's fourteen nothing Aimeslittle cyclones on top. Husky's turned it

(23:06):
over once more. Here comes Paconinat the top of the key. She
slows things down, kicks it overto McGuire. On the right wing,
she drives towards the baseline, pumpfakes kicks it over to the top of
the key. Now cross court passedby Pecona has an open look there for
three is Framestein and that's an airballhauled in by the Huskies. Now driving
trying to go coast to coast. There was Davis and she is blocked by

(23:30):
McGuire, so quick pace favoring theAmes little cyclones. Here McGuire takes two
steps in the lane. Miss isthe short layup, and that's a rebound
hauled in there by thirty two eleanorEckwall, and now a whistle there by
the refs, and in some substitutionshere aimes on top fourteen nothing with three

(23:55):
to nineteen to go, coming infour Abby McGuire will be Morgan Wall also
coming in now for a Nissa Perceivalwill be number four. Jada Britain.
Jada Britain, all state choir memberusually sings the national anthem here for home

(24:18):
games. Did not today though,And here comes the Huskies down by fourteen.
Picking up the ball is number fourteenand Jarrett. She drives towards the
top of the key, gets itpopped out, but it goes straight towards
her teammate, who takes a layup. And that's no good that layup by
number twenty two Kennedy, and theyget their offensive board, so kicking it
out to the top of the key. It will be Kennedy. Now switches

(24:41):
it over to Jarrett on the rightwing and that three is up and in
and with two point fifty to goin the first quarter, the Huskies finally
get on the board and it's fourteento three to Conan. Now over to
Frienstein on the right wing, crosscourt past the pacona and her three.
That one short offensive board Jada Britainand she tries to put it up and

(25:02):
is fouled hard. That looks likethe foul will be on Brooklyn Oyster.
So two free throw shots now comingfor Jada Britain. Jada Britain, not
a whole lot of playing time, has yet to make a free throw.
See if that changes today, andit does. First one falls in for

(25:22):
her, fifteen to three, twothirty eight to go. Here in the
first quarter on the floor were thelittle Cyclones. It's Morgan wall as that
second free throw falls sixteen to three. Full court press now for Deerdorf from
Frinstein. They are able to getit across half court. Is Hoover now

(25:45):
double team in the corner. Lookslike Ames in a zone defense here and
it works out as there's another turnoverby the Huskies on the floor. It
is Deerdorf, Britain, Peconan,Frinstein and wall here comes Peconan switches it
over now to Britain on the leftwing. She fakes right, goes baseline

(26:06):
on the left side. Now findsa cutting wall, but that is poked
on the ground. Ball is onthe ground and that'll be a jump ball
favoring the visiting Huskies. So toinbound it will be Jarrett bowl court press.
All five members of the little cyclonesquad. They're in line and they

(26:30):
cause another turnover with two sixteen togo on the inbound pass. So now
Ames will get the ball right underneaththe Huskies hoop. It will be on
the left side. Britain set toinbound it and gives it to Peconan on
the left wing. Now kicks itover to Britain on the left corner.
She down Jada Britton with five pointscoming off of the bench and with two

(26:55):
minutes ago it's nineteen to three.Aims on top. Jarrett quickly get that
back over to Davis. Davis goeson the left side quickly double team.
Now is able to find her teammateand Royster on the left wing. She
was looking for a foul there andthe double team with Walt and Deerdorf does
not get it. Now the ballis on the right corner. Now it's

(27:15):
handed off to Jarrett. Good ballmovement here by the Huskies, but better
help defense by the Ames Little Cyclones. Jarrett going to try a long three
from the right wing, and that'san airball, and that's going to be
Ames basketball. Jarrett with the onlythree points or the Hoofer Huskies with a
minute thirty six remaining here in thefirst quarter, nineteen to three, Ames

(27:37):
Little Cyclones on top. Proponent kicksit over to Britain on the left wing.
Now kicks it inside the free throwline there to Friendstein. She takes
a nice extra past to Paconan, who nails the three from the right wing
twenty two to three, a nineteenpoint lead for the Ames Little Cyclones.
Jarrett, though outlet pass there andalmost to travel with Royster. She's gonna

(27:59):
pull back for Ree on the rightwing, and that's long, kind of
rattled off of every part of therim there, rebounded by Jada Britton.
She takes it to the left wingnow inside of Morgan Wall. She spends
sports right now kicks back towards herleft to the left wing to wall.
Her three is up. No good. Now is Briton with the shot.
Here's another turnover. Briton with theball right handed, lay up high off

(28:21):
the glass. No good. Deardorfthough there to clear and up and Deardorf
with her first points and it's atwenty four to three lead for the Ames
Little Cyclones here with forty seconds remaining, seven seconds separating game clock and shot
clocks. Splitting the two defenders thereis Smith. Smith drives with the right
hand. Now kicks back out.Jarrett on the right wing, now driving

(28:41):
towards the medal of the paint. But has it, ohd oubt was Kennedy
the Conan poked it out now pecautioncoming in. Looks like she's coming in
for the Conan. Four to threeto twenty four, twenty seven seconds remaining

(29:03):
here in the first court inbounds passstolen by Diardolf. She now picks up
her dribble, gets pushed towards theground. No, they're going to say
jump ball. They'll stay here withthe Ames Little Cyclones. Kennedy there trying
to fight through with Deardorf causing thejump ball so here comes precaution has eighteen
seconds on the game clock, noshot clock. Friends Stein at the top

(29:26):
of the key. Now over toprecaution. She pumped fikes from the right
wing, cross court past friends Steinon the left wing. Now back to
precaution on the right elbow. Shedrives towards the middle of the paint,
kicks it out to an open wall. Hurt three from the right corner.
No good. Another battle for theoffensive board by Deardorf. She's going to
get called for the foul. Littleshocked by that one. Looked like Deerdorf

(29:48):
was just hustling trying to make aplay. But one point eight seconds remaining
here in the first quarter, twentyfour to three, Ames little cyclones on
top of the endbounds and they'll justdribble out and head into the second quarter.
Twenty four to three. The Ameslittle Cyclones rolling here early against the
Des Moines Hoover Huskies. We'll goahead, take a break and come back

Justin Miller on the call here onfourteen thirty kas I or on your iHeartRadio
app. It is doubleheader appen herethis Tuesday night and is the Ames Little
Cyclone girls varsity team taking the courtfirst and had an exciting first quarter against
the Des Moines Hoover Huskies. Uptwenty four to three. But it'll be
Husky's ball here as they try tocut into this big lead. Seven fifty

(31:41):
to go. With the ball onthe right wing is Royster cross court pass
now to Jarrett on the left wing. Tries to get inside to Royster.
She has it blocked my wall now, that looked like it was almost a
jump ball on the rebound, butBritain comes up with it. She's driving
with the right hand, has threepeople on her is fouled by twenty two
Earnstein Kennedy. So two more freethrows now coming up for Jada Britton.

(32:06):
She went two of two the lasttime I have free throw line. Today
hit of three as well, soshe has five quick points. Britain on
the season only averages a half apoint per game. First free throw is
long now some substitutions for the Huskiescoming in for Kennedy will be number thirty

(32:32):
two Ekwall starter junior forward Britain.Second free throws up. That one's long
as well. Battle for the reboundis won by the Huskies. They have
numbers, but slowing it down willbe Davis. Davis kicks it over to
Jarrett. Now extra pass to theright corner. Three. That's short why

(32:53):
Royster rebounded and hauled in by theAmes Little Cyclones. Here comes Britain the
right hand. She drives towards theright block. Now find the cutting Deerdorf
hasn't poked out, but she getsher own rebound, but step out of
bounds looked like her right heel wenton the g of the Ames high baseline.
So it'll be Hoover basketball. Withseven thirteen to go, twenty four

(33:15):
to three, Davis set to takeit up the court, crosses half court.
Now kicks it over to Smith.Smith back to Jared at the top
of the key. Good ball movement, but really good defense here by Ames
Little Cyclones. Dierdorf doing a greatjob of not using her body but moving
her feet. Here comes a rightcorner three. That short battle for the

(33:36):
rebound one by Jada Britton, andhere comes friends scene and the Ames Little
Cyclones crosses half court has numbers. Now here comes a pump fake. Here
comes a long three and now biteSophia Timmerman's previously a volleyball player, first
time out here for basketball, nailsthe three and the crowd loves it,
twenty seven to three with six anda half to go, Timmerman's nearly getting

(34:00):
the steel, but its Deerdorf fallingit in Deerdorf guarded by Royster. She
drives with the right hand, justsplits the two defenders. Now back out.
Timmerman's thought about the three in theright corner. Now drives baseline,
kicks it over the wall in themiddle of the lane. Her right handed
layup up short battle for the reboundone by Ames and a push. There
was a number twenty Malaiah Davis pushingNumber thirty Meredith Frenstein, the sophomore guard.

(34:28):
So aim set to inbound it onthe left block with six h nine
remaining in the first half, atwenty four point lead for the Ames.
Little cyclones inbounds pass to Timmerman's herhigh layup no good rebounded though by Jada
Britton. She is getting on theboards doing a great job. Here comes
Brenton, drives towards the middle ofthe lane, almost foul, kicks it
over to Timmerman's on the left wing. Good ball movement, extra pass now

(34:52):
left corner that three short by friendsSteam, but who is it other than
Jada Britton in the middle trying tofight for the rebound, but who able
to pick it up? Here comesSmith drives with the right hand Meredith,
great job on the help defense, kicks it back out to Davis. She
drives towards the mill of the lane, kicks it over to the right corner
that three blocked by Morgan Wall. Here comes Jada Britain and she is fouled

(35:15):
by Davis. And that looked likea frustration foul. With five point thirty
two to go twenty seven to threehere in the first half, Brenstein heads
to the bench. Wall heads tothe bench. So coming in for her
will be a Nissa Perceival and HaleyPrecaution. Also coming in now for Hoover

(35:37):
will be Cora Johnson, the freshmanforward standing at five to seven. She
comes in for Davis. So onthe floor for your little cyclones, it
is Jada Britain, Haley Precaution,a Nissa Percival who shakes off right now
heads towards the mill on the lane, kicks it over to Precaution on the
right wing. Timmerman's rounding out thetop five. It is Britain on the

(36:00):
left point. She looks deeped intoTimmermans now kicks it back out to the
top of the key to precaution.Good ball movement here by Ames, but
Deodorf losing it as she tries togo baseline, able to haul it back
in ten seconds on the shot clock. Precaution the foul that she drives towards
the right elbow and that looks likea foul. On number fourteen, Elena

(36:22):
Jarrett, the star player Shore Hoover, the only player with ten plus points
averaging this season and the only playertonight with three points twenty seven to three
Timmerman's heads to the bench. Shehit a three earlier. The bench loves
it. Coming in for her isAbby McGuire. Needs a perceival on the

(36:43):
inbounds pass on the right elbow, drives towards the middle of the lame,
finds and open McGuire. She kicksit out Britain open for three. That
is short rebounded though by Royster. Here comes Smith, dribbling with the left
hand, crosses half court man toman defense for the little Cyclones. Chair
loses the pass there by Smith justoutside of her reach on her fingertips.

(37:05):
Here comes Deardorf on the left side, hands it off to Perceival. Perceival
back out to Deardorf. Now Herecomes a cutting Britain. Good ball movement
here early by the Cyclones with twentyseconds left on the shot clock, precaution
left all alone on the left wingher three up. No good. The
three ball has been a struggle hereearly for the Ames Little Sideclones, as

(37:29):
it is twenty seven to three withfour point fifteen to go. Jared at
the top of the key. Nowget it inside to Johnson. Johnson's right
handed layup up no good. Battlefor the rebound one though by Hoover.
Good hustle there by Brooklyn Royster, the senior guard. She's fouled on her
little floater from about twelve feet out, so she'll head to the free throw
line or two shots. That foulwill be on tali A Deardorf, the

(37:55):
sophomore guard for Ames, first freethrows up and long. Now coming in
will be number one and two ErnsteinKennedy for Hoover, taking over for Eleanor
Eckwall. Also coming in for theAmes Little Cyclones. Number twenty three Maya

(38:21):
Frisk and that free throw up.No good. Precaution driving on the right
sideline gets it poked out. Gooddefense there by Brooklyn Royce Ferrel. Stay
with the Ames little cyclones, thoughit will just be across the half court
line. Jada Brittain set to inboundit. Now coming in for Smith,
it'll be Eliah Davis. Twenty sevento three, four minutes to go.

(38:45):
Precaution with the ball, kicks itover to Briton thob about the three on
the right wing. Now inside tothe right block. Nice post move and
lay up there off the glass byAby Maguire, her first points of the
nine an it's twenty nine to three. Here comes Hoover driving with the right
hand. Is Davis a long jumpshot there from about eighteen feet is long,

(39:07):
no good battle for the rebound byPrecaution and Johnson is a jump ball
and Nobee Ames basketball here twenty nineto three, three thirty seven remaining here
in the first half. Here comesPrecaution kicks it over to Britain on the

(39:28):
right wing, trying to find thecutting frisk. Frisk wide open and the
free line. Extra pass out tothe left wing, and Precaution passed up
the open three. Now good ballmovement here by the Little Cyclones as Perceival
finds Precaution on the left wing.Precaution now steps all the way back out
to the orange volleyball line, findsan open frisk for the right wing three
that short offensive board though by JadaBritton. Her hustle has been great so

(39:52):
far early today. Top of thekey is Frisk. He tries to get
it to Brenton, almost stolen byDavis and Britain with an over and back
good defense there by Malaia Davis ablenot to foul, but able to make
Britain just enough uncomfortable to step overthat half court line, and I'll be

(40:14):
a turnover for the Ames Little Cyclonewith two fifty eight to go twenty nine
to three. Man a man defensefor the Ames Little Cyclones. At the
top of the key is Davis. She drives towards the left elbow, now
kicks it over to Royster back outto Jared at the top of the key,
guarded by Precaution. Now she handsit off to the right corner the
Kennedy Kennedy guard double team by McGuireand Perceival and able to get that ball

(40:38):
out to Davis on the right wing, but she turns it over as Precaution
just able to steal it from herdribbling with the right hand, trying to
go coast to coast high off theglassing. Good Precaution now with ten points,
thirty one to three, twenty eightpoint lead for the Ames Little Cyclones
and another steal by Haley. Precautiondrives pump fakes, nice pump. They

(41:00):
miss the open layup though, andthat ball rolls off the shin of Frisk.
Oh Man, that was a great, great move by Precaution getting the
steal. Great idea to pump fakewith the charging Elena Jarrett behind her,
but just not able to finish.Precaution heading towards the bench coming in for

(41:21):
her as Carson braconen Conan with fivepoints here in the first half, two
minutes remaining thirty one to three.Hoover gets it across the half court.
Here comes with three from the leftcorner. That's long and no good by
Royster, rebound by Perceival. She'sribbling it up with the left hand,
finds Frisk on the outlet. Herleft handed layup is up and good maya

(41:42):
Frisk with her first points of thenight and with under two minutes ago,
it's a thirty point lead for theLittle by Clones. Manda Man defense,
Conan on Jarrett. Now she kicksit over to Royster. Royster back out
to Davis on the left wing.Davis at the top of the key,
guarded by fris Ball movement around theperimeter. Here comes a step back three

(42:04):
airball, ball goes out of bounds. It be Ames basketball. Now some
changes for both squads. Jada Brittonheads to the bench. Britain a really
strong first half there with five points. She heads out. Coming in for
her is Anika Henson, so isHenson Perceival, but Conan McGuire and brisk

(42:30):
Risk wide open on the right wing. Conan finally finds her, but Hoover
able to get over there. NowHere comes a quick three and that's long
from the left wing by Henson, rebounded by the Hoover Huskies. Under a
minute ten to go. Davis triesto cut towards the middle of the lane,
swings it back out and that willgo out of bounds in another turnover

(42:51):
by the Huskies. Here it isa thirty three lead for the Ames Little
Cyclones. Here in the first half, with a minute oh three remain.
Here comes Pacona crosses half court mana man defense for the Huskies at the
turnover, Frisk trying to find thecutting Perceival just a little behind her.

(43:12):
We were able to connect on thatone, but here comes an almost steal
there by paconain. She was fouledthough it was Royster trying to find Jarrett
cutting just over by the left elbow, and Pacona read it like a book
and got dubbed. After dropping twostraight games, this team has been playing

(43:38):
with great passion early and has beenable to find things easy. Here comes
Percival out to Frisk on the rightcorner. Now back inside towards the middle
of the paint. McGuire extra passhas three people cut down on her.
Frisk three no good offensive board forPerceival and missed the right handed layup.
So now shot clocking. Game clockbasically knotted up. With twenty eight seconds.

(44:01):
Jarrett drives with the right hand, steps back eight foot jumper. That's
an airball, rebounded by Frisk.Pacona looks at the clock, slows things
down and it looks like the Amesold cyclone will have the opportunity to take
the final shot of the first half, thirty three to three, Names on
top, Peconan on the right wing. They're just holding onto the wall,

(44:22):
trying to cut some time. Herecomes Henson. She drives towards the middle
of the lane and almost has itstolen. I'll be poked out bound,
so three point eight seconds remaining, ball'll be taken out by Perceival on kind
of a weird corner there on theright sideline, gets it to Pacona.
She dribbles inside the lane, bobbledthe ball, still got it up no

(44:43):
good, got her on board andlaid it in. That should count,
and it does. Seven points forCarson Paconan to end the half thirty five
to three. The Ames Little Cycloneson top here early against the Hoover Huskies.
Seven quick points by Carson the Conan, someone who's been averaging twenty one

(45:04):
point when the last two games combined, has been playing really good so far
early. But I think kind ofthe story of that first half, outside
of just a great offensive display byall the Little Cyclones player has been the
help off the bench of Jada Britton. Five points for her. She nailed
both three throws early, hit acorner three, and she's been vital because,

(45:28):
like we said, Sophia Hatcher, who usually comes off the bench early
for the Ames Little Cyclones out withthe sprained ankle. She does have won
those big bac boots on the rightside of her on her right leg,
so she's out and playing big minutes. Is Jada Britton with five point seven
points like the conan, and onlythree points coming from the star player for

(45:53):
the Huskies, Elena Jarrett. She'sthe only one averaging ten plus points this
year, and she hit a threefrom the right wing early in that first
half, and that's the only offensewe've really seen from the Huskies so far.
And that's a credit to the AmesLittle Cyclones defense. They've been pressuring

(46:14):
them up close and when they're tryingto inbound it, and also just doing
a good job at the half courtset, staying in their mandamand defense,
moving their feet and not forcing anyfouls or allowing the Huskies to get any
easy shots. So the Ames LittleCyclones trying to cut a two game losing
streak, trying to win their twelfthstraight from dating back to two thousand and

(46:37):
seven against the Huskies. They're fourand two this season when coming off a
loss. Let's see if they canmake it five and two. We'll go
ahead, take a break and comeback with more halftime action. Here in
Ames Stadium, it is thirty fiveto three the Ames little Cyclones on top
of the Huskies on fourteen thirty ks. I you're all set with your

(48:59):
as the girls varsity team, rollingin that first half to a thirty five
to three lead against the Hoover Huskies. Hoover a team struggling here oh and
fifteen on the season, Aimes ateam that has struggled in the last four
games, one and three in thelast four. But like we said in
pregame, this team bounces back aftercoming off of a loss. Four wins,

(49:22):
two losses when coming off of akind of a adversity loss for this
season for the Little Cyclones seven pointsleading the way for Carson Paconin and the
Ames Little Cyclones. But like wesaid right before we went to break,
main story of the first half wasthe play of Jada Britain. Jada Britain,
an All State choir member, doesnot usually see a lot of playing

(49:45):
time, but with Ames being outwith one of their main guards and one
of their main players coming off ofthe bench and tall Sophia Hatcher with a
spring ankle wearing that black boot onher right leg has been Jada and point
five points and they were five quickpoints. Had two free throws fall for
early and then had a three pointeron the left wing. After that,

(50:07):
she played really good on the offensiveend, not scoring necessarily, but just
getting in the middle of the action, pulling in offensive boards, giving games
extra opportunities to score, and thathas helped them to a thirty two point
lead here in the first half.Only upside for the Hoover Huskies has been

(50:30):
Elena Jarrett. She has the onlythree points of the night with a nice
little shot there from the right wing, but Ames doing a good job of
containing her forcing this already depleted benchfor the Huskies. They only traveled with
seven players today. Traveling with sevenplayers make it really hard to go up

(50:52):
against a team like the Ames littleCyclones where you can grab people like Jada
Britton, Natalia Diirdorf, Mason Buttonand kah Henson had played some good minutes.
Maya Frisk also with some good minutesthere in the second quarter. It
makes it really difficult. So we'llsee what the Hoover Huskies do differently coming

(51:12):
out of the half, because weknow they'll make some adjustments, but we
also know Cole Cook is prepared forthose adjustments. Let's see what happens here

Seat and K Heating and Cooling. For fifty five years, they've been keeping
comfort simple. We are just nowready to get this second half on and
going. At thirty five to three, the Ames Little Cyclones on top,

(55:52):
same starter or no, they're changingthe starters out a little here for the
Ames Little Cyclones, Victoria Williams whostarts it in the first half not starting,
and in our place it'll be Nataliadear Dwarf. But other than that
I'll be Abby McGuire, Carson,Paconin, Anissa Perceival and Hayley Precaution Hoover.

(56:13):
With the ball first down by thirtytwo it is number fourteen Jarrett swinging
it over to Royster on the leftwing. She bakes right, goes left
towards the left block, float herup no good. Here comes a rebound
by Pecona and going coast to coastwith the left hand up. No good,
but offensive board again for the LittleCyclone. Something we heard a lot

(56:36):
in that first half, hauled inby Dear Dwarf. Now Paconin drives,
Baseline, has to kick it backout to Precaution on the left wing.
Now cross court pass to Perceival. She drives towards the right block, swings
it over to McGuire who finds theextra pass in a three on the left
wing by Peconain. That's ten pointsfor her. She scored twenty one points

(56:57):
in the last two games combined andis now a thirty five point lead for
the Ames Little Cyclones. Jarrett, driving coast to coast, drives towards that
right block floater with the right handup no good, rebounded by Peconaan.
Her outlet pass to Precaution on theright block is up no good, but
Perceival is there to clean it upand lay it in with the left hand

(57:17):
Nissa Perceival. Now with six pointson the night, forty to three.
Here with six point fifty to go, Jarrett crosses half court, kind of
stumbles through, gathering her feet, picks up the ball. Now finds Royster
on the left wing. Cross court. Passed towards the right corner to Kennedy.
She picks it up double team byPerceival and Deardorf, able to escape

(57:42):
and get it out to Jarrett. Now her pass to the right wing to
Royster. She drives towards the rightblock, her lamp up no good,
rebounded by Precaution. She dribbles withthe right hand into the right wing.
Now back out to the top ofthe key to Perceival. She swings it
over now to Peconan inside. Nowprecaution on the right elbow, back out
to Deerdorf. Good ball movement hereby the Ames Little Cyclones. A cross

(58:06):
court pass and a dribble towards theright block to Perceival. Now her bounce
past to McGuire. She takes twodribbles into the middle of the paint pump.
Fake. Now another extra pass bythe forward to the left handed or
the right handed. Precaution on theleft wing, and that three is up
and good. Thirteen points by precaution, forty three to three with five point

(58:30):
forty five to go, a fortypoint lead McGuire and precaution heading towards the
bench. Coming in for McGuire willbe Wall, and coming in for precaution
will be Friendstein. Well one twotwo zone for the Ames Little Cyclones,

(58:50):
doubling up the Huskies on every corner. Now here's the right corner. Three.
That short air ball offensive board though, goes to Candy. She puts
it up with the right hand.No good rebounded by Wall. Here comes
a niece of Perceival. Civil getsup to the top of the key.
Now kicks it over to Paconan onthe left wing, looks towards the free
throw line to friends in. Nowback out to Deerdorf at the top of

(59:14):
the key. Good ball movement, finds the open wall with the right hand.
That's just your strength there and mismatchas Jarrett just couldn't do anything but
put her arms up. First twopoints of the night for Morgan Wall and
it's a forty five to three lead. With four to forty five to go,
Jarrett takes wonderable fires off a threethat's an airball on the right wing

(59:35):
and it rolls out of bounds.Clock will continue to roll as Ames has
built up such a big lead inhigh school basketball if you didn't know,
if you get up by thirty pointsat any point in the game, they
will start a running clock. Andright now it is a forty two point
lead for the Ames lit Cyclones. They go deep into Wall again, same

(59:57):
play, different result. Miss layup there by wall. She gets her
on board, now finds it insideto Anissa Perceival on the left wing.
She kicks it into the left elbowto friends in and she is fouled,
so Ames will get the ball outof bounds. Davis now coming in.
She comes in for Kennedy and pointsfor Carson baconan thirteen, a game high

(01:00:24):
for Haley. Precaution. Here's theinbound pass on the left block by Perceival.
She finds a cutting dear dwarf.Nice pass in a layup, no
good great drawn up inbounds play andeverything done to perfection except the finish.
There By Deardorf had a great look. Just rolled off of every part of

(01:00:44):
that basketball room. Three and ahalf minutes ago, forty two point leads
for the Ames little Cyclones. Almostanother turnover there by Hoover. Here comes
a quick three and it falls forBrooklyn Royster. So three nineteen to go
Ames on top, four, fiveto six to Conan, slowing things down,
dribbles over towards the right side ofthe court. Now gives it over

(01:01:07):
to friends. Seeing good ball movementaround the arc. Here comes to drive
on the right baseline, Deerdorf onceagain stepping out bounds. She did that
in the first half on an offensiveboard that she tried to dribble on the
baseline, and that Feld just clippingthat baseline. So a turnover there board
Deardorf. Conan heads towards the bench, coming in for her is Jada Britton.

(01:01:30):
Five points for her. Here comesDavis, hands it over to Smith.
Smith back out, now to Royster. Now to the left corner.
It is Jarrett guarded by Meredith. Now back out to the right corner and
s David. She's gonna try todrive baseline on the much taller Perceival.
Now back out to the top ofthe key as Smith she thought, or
Royster she thought about the three. Now pass it up to Jarrett. Jarrett

(01:01:54):
now has to give it back.Jarrett fires off a quick three after the
quick pass back by Royster, reboundedby Perceval. Here comes Perceval, crosses
up, dribbles towards the free throwline, kicks it out. Jada Britton
thought about the three on the leftcorner. Now back out to Meredith on
the right wing. Now inside thewall, she doesn't put the ball on
the ground. Great move, butdifferent finish. She almost has it right

(01:02:19):
elbow right block, lay up upand no good. Got a little distracted
there because there was an injury onthe plate here looked like a knee injury
there holding on to her left andknee as Takaria Smith, the senior guard.
Something you never want to see helpfrom both athletic printers going out there

(01:02:43):
checking in on the senior guard. We hope everything's okay with her. She
had a nice run there getting acrosshalf court and then just got bumped a
little. Don't know if there wasa foul call at all. Doesn't look
like there will be, so itmust have just been both players just getting
cripped up a little. So TakariaSmith still on the ground. Hope everything's

(01:03:06):
alright with her, because the HooverHuskies definitely don't want to lose an important
impact player like Takaria Smith minute fiftyfour, though remaining here in the third
quarter forty five to six, theaims little cyclones on top. Some changes
here will be Meredith Frenstein, NataliaDierdorf, Anissa Perceival and just got a

(01:03:36):
great note here that Takaria Smith astate champion by the four four by one
hundred runner and holds still down onthe ground, hoping she's okay. Finally
now hitting up on her feet toa bunch of cheers. Not able to

(01:03:58):
put pressure though on by herself. So hope everything will turn out okay for
her. As game play will nowresume Perceival, Jada Britton, Natalia Deardorf,
Sophia Timmerman's who hit a three inthat first half, a previous volleyball

(01:04:20):
player out for basketball for the firsttime, hitting a three earlier on today,
she'll be out on the court, and then for the Ames Little side
or for the Hoover Huskies, it'llbe Kennedy out there along with eck Wall,
Davis Jarrett and looks like number thirtyor twenty four Johnson as well,

(01:04:51):
So you're come, Meredith. Shedribbles up the front court. Now has
the ballpasscor by Deerdorf on the rightcorner, Dear Dwarf back with it on
the left wing. Looks like athree two zone here Now for the Huskies
Perceivo on the right block. Timmerman'son the right block now switched over.
Perceivo was wide open. Now theyfinally give it to her and she lays

(01:05:14):
it in with the left hand. She was just waiting there patiently for the
ball, a lot more patient thanI think the fans of myself included where
we were like, get her theball, and she finally gets it with
a minute eighteen to go forty sevento six games on top as the clock
will still continue to run. Perceivilnow with eight points and now a little

(01:05:38):
confusion there as they were thinking aboutbringing someone off the bench. But play
will resume as that layup up andno, good bye Royster, so you're
coming. Meredith swings it over toDeerdorf, looks down to Timmerman. Now
I'm back out to Perceival at thetop of the key three two zone continuing
for the Hoover Huskies, and Deardorfbreaks it and reverse right handed layup is

(01:06:00):
up and good two points for her, four points for her forty nine to
six names on top, thirty eightseconds remaining here in the third quarter.
Here's Jarrett drives with the right handwild layup short, almost made it,
splitting through two defenders. Here comesDeardorf, has numbers but slows it down
as Ames is able to take thefinal shot of this third quarter shot.

(01:06:26):
Clock is off nineteen seconds on thegame clock. Meredith cross court passed to
Deardorf. She is fouled thereby Ekwalland Kennedy crashing down on her on that
left block. So two free throwsnow coming up for Deardorf. Deerdorf a
three sport athlete, volleyball, basketballand track has put up some good minutes

(01:06:50):
off the bench here. If thatfirst free throw falls for Deerdorf only a
thirty percent free throw shooter averages abouttwo and a half points per game.
Had not made a shot last timeout on the court. Went oh four
makes both free throws there though, and it is a six point performance for

(01:07:15):
the Natalia Diirdorf. Three seconds onthe shot clock. Here comes a three
as the buzzer sounds, and no, good bye Royster and it'll be a
fifty one to six aims little cyclonelead as we will head to the final
eight minutes of this one. Itis all little cyclones here on fourteen thirty.

Company Incorporated member SIPC and NYC Evan'slapuzzer. As we get the final eight

(01:08:48):
minutes started here for the Ames LittleCyclone Girls varsity team on top big against
La Hoover Huskies fifty one to six. You're in the fourth quarter. A
lot of changes now offensively for theAmes Little Cyclones is Timmerman Henson, Meredith
Frenstein, Maya Frisk and Jada Brittonwho got the layup there is fouled on

(01:09:13):
the left block though. Two morefree throws now coming up for Jada Britain.
Britain on the night with five pointsfifty one to six, Ames Little
Cyclone lead first free throws up andgood fifty two to six. Now then

(01:09:36):
all little Cyclones. My three pointsI wrote down earlier today talking about the
keys for the Ames Little Cyclones toget back on track was rebounding steals.
As that second free throw falls forBritain. Now I fifty three to six
lead, seven points for Britain, spread belove give more assists than Hoover averages,

(01:09:58):
and Ames has done all there ofthose running in traffic, rebounding and
passing the ball around with a purposethat lay up up No good bye Kennedy,
so seven to twenty five, remainingfifty three to six, aims on
top. Hears Henson quickly guarded bythree players and going down on the floor.
Henson and battling for it was BrooklynRoyster, and it'll be a jump

(01:10:21):
ball heading towards the Huskies way Jarrettand bounds it now to Davis. No
full court press here with such abig lead for the Ames Little Cyclones.
Refs giving a running clock sign towardsthe scoreboard here as Ames is up fifty

(01:10:45):
three to six. Davis on theright wing, she's got fire long cree
that short rebounded by Timmermans, shealmost gets it stolen, and another hustle
play there by Royster. She's divingon the floor every single time, and
now I'll be Ames Little Cyclones basketball. But the possession arrow changes Royster,

(01:11:09):
Royster diving on the floor every singletime. Despite the lead for the Ames
Little Cyclones, Timmerman back out toHinson on the right corner. Now back
out to Meredith. Now Britain onthe right corner. Back out to Meredith
on the top of the key.Seventeen seconds on the shot clock. Here
comes the three off the blast goodoffensive board by Timmerman's almost foul. No

(01:11:30):
foul call though, and it's herright handed layup up no good. But
again the board once more was Timmerman, so games back with it. With
under six minutes to go, Frison the left wing, back out to
the top of the key. Four, Hinson her three, no good,
and here comes an offensive board forTimmerman, but that one rolls out of
bounds. So with five point fortyto go, it is a fifty three

(01:11:55):
to six lead. Some missed opportunitiesthere to increase the lead for the Ames
Little psycl but here comes the Huskiesat Davis on the right wing drives baseline
now puts up a floater that's longrebounded by Hinson, and she's fouled by
Royster, so that's gonna be Royster'sfirst foul of the game. Second team

(01:12:15):
foul here in the fourth quarter. So here it comes Franzen. Meredith with
the ball at the top of theteak, picks it over to Maya Frisk.
Frisk cross court pass to Britton. She fakes right, goes left towards
the left elbow, now finds awide open Hinson. She passed up the
three though, Now back out toFrisk at the top of the key.

(01:12:39):
Now back out to Meredith on theright corner, cross court past Britain in
motion fires a three and that's good. Ten coins for Jada Britton. Huge
night for her in front of thehome crowd. And we're at the four
to forty mark and it's a fiftypoint lead for the Ames Little Cyclones.
Man de man defense for the Cyclones. Here Jarrett towards the right elbow,

(01:13:00):
now kicks it back out to Candyher right handed layup up, no good.
Timmerman trying to get the outlet pass. No good. Davis though with
the steel and Timmerman put her bodyon the line getting the charge. Cole
Cook loves seeing that. Just don'tput your head down on the steel on
the turnover, getting right back ondefense and putting her body in front of

(01:13:25):
Davis and a turnover there and foulfor Davis and the Hoover Huskies. Here
comes Brenton dribbles towards the left elbWill kicks it to the open hints and
her three on the left corner isup, No good, and Ames Little
Cyclones on top by fifty now withthree forty seven to go, looks like

(01:13:53):
the Ames Little Cyclones will improve tonine and seven on the year. This
will be now their twelveth straight winagainst the Hoover Huskies if nothing too crazy
happens. But as I say that, Jarrett with a nice and one right
handed layup, and now she'll geta free throw. Cry here. Jarrett,

(01:14:15):
averaging eleven and a half points pergame, has been held to five
as of right now depending on thefree throw up. No good, but
lame violation on Timmerman, so we'llredo it. On the year, Jarrett
has been a forty eight percent freethrow shooter. Makes that one though.

(01:14:42):
Six points for Jarrett fifty six ninetwenty six remaining here in the fourth quarter,
Meredith with the ball, kicks itover now to Frisk on the right
wing, back out to the corner. Quickly double team by Jarrett in Routster
somehow breaking through and finding the opencutting Briton was hints in. But the
the right handed layup by Britain isup and no good one for rare misses

(01:15:02):
up tonight. Here comes a chargingHuskies team, Davis driving baseline, her
floater up and rattles in. Sowith three minutes to go it is now
fifty six eleven, Brisk hands itright back to her guard in Meredith.
Meredith kicks it over to Britain onthe left wing. She dribbles towards the
middle of the paint, kicks itback out to Meredith on the right corner.

(01:15:26):
Now at the free throw lines Timmerman, but she put the ball down
below by her waist, and thatgives the smaller guards like Davis and Jared
an opportunity to steal the ball likethey did in a quick transition three from
the right wing by Davis's up andshort rebounded by Timmerman. Here comes Ames
Hinson on the right wing, getsa high screen by Timmerman. Now finds

(01:15:48):
the open Britain for three and nailsit thirteen points off of the bench for
Jada Britain, So game highs forJada Briton and Haley Precaution, both with
thirteen. Kennedy with the ball onthe right wing for Hoover. Jarrett thought
about the long top of the keythree, instead gives it to Royster.

(01:16:09):
Her right handed layup up no good, rebounded by Timmerman. Here's a battle
for the steal by Royster, butshe gets called for a foul. Maya
frisk set to inbound it now rightin front of the Hoover bench coming in
now is Morgan Wall for Henson.Henson was not able to get a shot

(01:16:30):
to fall, but did a reallygood job defensively and just going off after
the boards despite her size disadvantage.Really promising performance out of her with all
the injuries Aims's face. But herecomes another three by Timmerman. That one's
an airball offensive board though by Meredith, she though, gives it right back

(01:16:51):
to Davis in the Huskies. Davisdriving towards the lane. That's a layup
with the right hand and that's good. Morgan Wall putting her body on the
line. I thought that was goingto be a blocking foul. She was
still moving, but no foul call. It is fifty nine to thirteen,
four points now for Davis Wall atthe right wing, pump fakes, travels

(01:17:13):
with the right hand layup up.No good two shots now coming for Morganwall
did a really good job. Shesaw closing out was number thirty two eleanor
eck Wall. She pumped, fakedand she didn't fully jump, but it
was enough of a hesitation by theforward that gave Morganwall an opportunity to drive
towards the lane. And then itwas just a hard foul trying to stop

(01:17:35):
her from getting an easy layup byHoover that caused her to go to the
free throw line and make the firstone. So it is now sixty to
thirteen Names A Little Cyclones lead.Second free throw rattles in and out rebounded
by Johnson. So here comes Davisright handed, dribbles down into Johnson on

(01:17:57):
the right block. It goes offof her fingertips, so it'll be Ames
Little Cyclones basketball with about ten secondsseparating game clock and shot clock. In
a sixty to thirteen Ames Little Cycloneslead, and it looks like Morgan Wall
in this offense will slow things down. Jada Britton thought about the three on
the left wing, decides to justpass it around, cutting time off the

(01:18:19):
clock. Good ball movement here byAmes to not turn it over, not
give Hoover anything easy. Even latein this one. Morgan Wall back in
the middle of the paint, dribblesout towards the left elbow, finds a
Jada Britain. Her three is good. Sixteen points for Jada Briton. Sixty

(01:18:40):
three thirteen to five seconds on theclock Davis along three up long no good
offensive board by Hoover. Here comesa three no good in a huge night
for Jada Britton. Sixteen points forher leads the Ames Little Cyclones girls varsity
team to a sixty three thirteen victory, and they now get back on the

(01:19:05):
right track after dropping you three oftheir last four games and being outscored by
seventeen plus and two of those lastgames. Great job by the Ames Little
Cyclhones girls varsity teams twelve straight nowagainst the Hoover Huskies dating back to two
thousand and seven. They are nowfive and two this season. When coming

(01:19:27):
off of the loss sixty three tothirteen for the Ames Little cyclhone. Sixteen
points off of the bench for JadaBrin, which are huge with a out
with a sprained ankle, Sophia Hatcher, and also Victoria Williams not getting a
lot of minutes there towards the endof the second quarter and did not see
her at all in the second half. So sixteen points for Jada Britton,

(01:19:51):
your game high leading scorer Anissa Perceivalwent on to have eight points, and
then you had points for Carson baconinthirteen points for Haley Precaution and just another
great overall performance by the girls varsityteam. Like we said, the three

(01:20:11):
main things they needed to do wellwas rebound. They did that a lot
of offensive boards and offensive battles bythe Ames Little Cyclone girls. Both Jada
Britain did a good job with that, Anika Hinson who came off to the
bench did a really good job withthat. All of them understood the assignment
and the importance of getting rebounds andbattling for that offensive class. They also

(01:20:34):
did a good job of playing attheir pace, forcing Hoover to play at
their pace, which is a getout and run with the ball. So
sixty three to thirteen the Ames LittleCyclones will now improved to nine and seven.
They get a day off before comingback home to take on the Des
Moines North team when we come backon Thursday,
