Speaker 2 (00:56):
Nick food, fire under our tail mill, and now let's
get back to the show.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Yeah, let's get back to the show. Please. What the heck? Holy?
The people want to hear something holy? I guess so
the people want to hear something holy. Okay, you got
to be the happiest guy in the planet. Dogs the

(01:26):
dudes from Chicago.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
Yes, first American pope.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
We got a new pope, and America is going to
be so obnoxious for the rest of time about it.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Dude, what's it? You know? And the rest of the
world thinks he's the Antichrist right now.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Which is hilarious. Hello, he's the Pope.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Well, great guy. I mean, you don't know, you know
what I mean, you don't know. I'm not saying he is.
I'm just saying you don't know. I mean the person that,
whoever the anti Christ is supposed to be, supposed to be,
somebody well respected and stuff. I'm not saying that. I'm
just saying that. And they're saying that, you know, my gosh,
he's from America. He's from America. He's got it.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
The Devil's a hot take car.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
No, No, that's not a take from me. That's a
take on the world. With the world, you know, because
you can't just you can't even elect a pope without
somebody complains about everything. The only thing I don't like
is he's a Bears fan. Well, he hasn't said he's
a Bears fan.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Duh, Pope.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Yeah, he's not a Cubs fan. No, his brother came
on last night and he said he's a white Sox
fan and he was Dubs all day. He asked his
Dubs is from Chicago? Everybody sells Chicago with that, which
I don't understand why you're not a white Sox fan
because isn't that from isn't that Chicago? The White six?

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Yeah? My grandma, my mom?

Speaker 1 (02:40):
So are we gonna get this guy in the air today?

Speaker 3 (02:44):
I gotta see he's from He's from a town over
from where I'm originally from.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Well, I thought, you, guys, I'm trying.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
He's busy doing Pope stuff. He's blessing stuff and everything.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Let me get let me, let me let me ask
you something. What got him there? It's just past and
friendships is origin. It's a self Chicago heritage. So he
should at least call his hometown radio guy got him.
Get him on the phone, Dubs. Come on, you're the
producer of Chris par What do I want to talk
to Pope Leo? And let's investigate this.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Let me send a message of a big man upstairs,
come on.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
My guy.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Would that be in the hotline? Right? Hey? What's up? Leo?
Word up? Wait up? Word up? Papal l What would
we call him? What? What would was slang? Be word
up papil.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Yeah, do you think, well, they call him papa, they
call Papa like papa. Just think I don't know if
maybe in like Italian, I think they call him papa.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Oh maybe, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
I don't look at me like I'm Catholic, but I've
never called the pope papa. Maybe I missed out on
that memo.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
I was. I was shocked to find out they actually
went with an American because I really thought that that
was their their main mission was to avoid that for
whatever reason. I mean, I just thought that they was like, no,
that's new country over there. Yeah, you know, they haven't
been around for you know, thousands and thousands of years
and going way back and biblical time. It's America.

Speaker 5 (04:08):
And maybe I have too much trust in the process there,
but I just think that, you know, if they picked him,
he's got to.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Be good, well, I would think. So.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
I don't know a lot.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
About him, aside from what we've learned in the last
twenty four hours.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Yeah, all I know is every pope there's there's there's
some controversy, not necessarily even inspired by them. It's just
there's always these groups of people that are always like
this pope is the worst. Oh, this pope is the best. Yeah,
Oh this pope does this. Oh this pope does that. Oh,
this pope's too conservative, this pope's too liberal, this is that.
And I don't I don't get all of that, And

(04:40):
probably because I'm not Catholic, and I'll be honestly, I
don't follow it as much. I'm a big Jesus guy.
I love Jesus. I think Jesus is cool as a
Lutheran goes straight to the big guy. We talked about
that yesterday, but I'm not opposed to it. I mean,
the guy's far more what's the word now, certainly more
knowledged on everything biblically than I am, you know. I mean,

(05:00):
so I respect that, and I think he's a cool
dude and let's get let's give him a chance.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
It's interesting to me how many people have been following
the pope selection process this week that are not even
really affiliated with the Catholic faith.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
I don't think it's interesting.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
I do too. I don't have any issue with it.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
I think that it is like fascinating to me though,
that you don't really see people participate in sometimes in
religion at all, but especially so specifically like Catholicism.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
So they get dialed in and they start, you know,
reading about researching.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
And they care, and I think it's amazing. I really
really appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
I will say, if the Bears won a Super Bowl
this year, the dude's gotta go. I mean, I don't
know what kind of smoke you got to smoke to
get that, because I'll tell you what, that ain't happening
over because this dude's young. This pope is sixty nine
years old. Nice, you know what I mean? No, he is,
he said, sixty nine is pretty young for a pulp.
Sometimes they don't. They shove him in there, like eighty

(05:56):
three or something. They're in there for a few years.
Sixty nine. We could have decades of the freaking Bears
because our dude, you know, the guy that the guy
that's closest I guess. I mean, we're all close to God, right,
but he's the dude, right, He's like, he's really close.
He's got like special things, you know what I mean.

(06:18):
I mean, do they have the Arc of the Covenant
in the Vatican. I mean, we haven't seen that thing
in a long time. Is that what he does? He's like,
do they tell him now is there things like that
going on? You know, they haven't seen the Ten Commandments
and everything, like, they haven't seen that stuff in years?
Do they now pull over the curtain they go, hey,
Pope Leo there it is kidding, right? I mean? Does
he know things like does Elvis say, oh my Elvis

(06:39):
is still alive? Like you become the Pope you know
everything right right?

Speaker 5 (06:42):
Yeah, yep, you just become all an all knowing oracle.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yes. But if the Bears, if Chicago sports team start,
don't worry.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
The Pope ain't gonna help the White Sox win anything
that team, I.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Will say, it'll be what's kind of fascinating to me
is the fact that if he is a Bears fan,
it's the one thing he hasn't admitted. Yeah you know
what I mean.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
His other was singing like a songbird.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Yeah, he's a White Sox fan. I know that the
Wrigley put on the Cubs billboard there and say hey,
we got one. He's one of all the.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Story that he told he was like, oh, our mom
was a Cubs fan, our dad was a Cardinals fan.
He's a white Sox fan.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
I'm like, what a family I get being a Cardinals fan.
He was a cardinal, right.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
It's quite a divided household.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
How odd, dude? What if he came out and he goes,
go back go, That's just I mean, that's traitorous. In
se Chicago, Yeah, I mean, just can you imagine that? Wow? Okay,
well good talk guys.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
It's got to be pretty wild. Your brother get named
the pope?

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Yeah? How does that work? Now? He wasn't even there
was he weren't they interviewing him, like in Chicago? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (07:56):
And then his other brother was like, I watched it
on I was watching on TV. He goes, Thankfully. I
wasn't like standing up. I was in bet he goes,
because I would have collapsed when they said his name.
He goes. As soon as they said Robert, he goes.
I knew that my brother was.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
Did they get to Like It's just I'm fascinated by
the whole process because to me, it's like the pope
becomes the pope and then he's.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Just the pope. But this is somebody knows, Yeah, but
this is.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
A man with a family and people that love him
and care about him, and does he come back. Does
he come to America for the holidays? Like, I mean,
what does that work?

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Yeah? Thanksgiving, that kind of stuff. Yeah, I want to know.
Now I want some dirt. Yeah, I want to know,
like did he pick on his little brothers or what
did he do?

Speaker 4 (08:33):
See?

Speaker 5 (08:34):
I just I'm so fascinated by it, and I think
that it just makes it even more relatable now that
he's an American. Yeah, and so I just think it'd
be cool to learn more about him as a human being,
not just as well.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
We will certainly know in the days ahead, but we
have an American pope. Whoever thought that possible? Absolutely crazy? So,
and the world everybody has something to say, even people
that don't know what they're talking about, like me, have
something to say. And I just think it's cool. Get
an American pope and let's run on it. Let's give
the dude a chance. You know, it's not even a
whisper for one second, and then everybody takes like a stance.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Yeah I didn't know that guy.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
It's like, you don't even know who he is. I
just heard America and you're like, you're out.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Yes, I didn't even know that they picked like a
pope name. I thought, yeah, no, they picked a pope name.
I didn't know that.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
And he said his brother said he didn't. He thought
that if he picked Leo, either have been Leo the thirteenth.
But they did the research and he's the fourteenth. And
he said he didn't want an unlucky number. I was like, dude,
you know in the Bible and stuff, I mean, there
aren't I don't think thirteenth is really an unlucky number.
I think that's something that we all created at some point.
But it goes to show you too. His brothers and

(09:39):
like they didn't even know because they're not invited to anything,
you know what I mean. The families of all the
candidates are all the cardinals. They don't like all show
up at the Vatican and sit and wait in anticipation.
Maybe some do, I don't know if you're a brother
of a cardinal or something. Yeah, but it was I mean,
they were just blown away.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
I think it's twenty four hours ago.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
They had no clue, right, it's crazy. Thank you for
