Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah, straight from Pakistan to La to Boston, back in
the studio, bro, talk about going back in time. Look
at this man without the tests and everything. Look at this,
oh man, look at this, no tests on the face. Man,
Million's in the studio.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
What up, Millions? It's crazy.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Yoah, that's twelve years ago.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Man, that's crazy.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
No, that's right.
Speaker 4 (00:17):
And then we you had me DJ your main show.
Look at that, no face, I remember that show. That
was an epic show.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Man. Yo, Millie's back in the studio. Congratulations album's coming
out in a few hours.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Bro' I have to touchdown. I appreciate you coming by.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Yeah, yeah, No.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
It feels amazing to be here at this point, and
you know, just starting the from the inception of the journey.
You've always been here, you know, as a supporter, and
now man, we're here in a real major way.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Well I'm glad I was able to be part of it.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
But thank you for the music that you do, man,
because that makes our job a little easier when you
actually put our good music.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
You know what, I'm right, right, And that's how you.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Approached all of us.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Your whole career, my whole life that I've known you
You've never like thrown records in my face be like
yo pop, yo pop.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
It's always when it's like yo, this is the one.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
You have a marketing plan, you know what you're gonna
do behind it, and it's just not like I'm just
trying to get.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Some airplanes, you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Talk about that growth of knowing that business. I think
just in life, it's essential to know. You know, nobody
owes you anything, so you want to you want to
bring value to every situation that that you come into.
And obviously, you know jam in ninety four five's it's
a certified radio station that's you know, been here for years.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
This is a staple in all of New England.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
So I never wanted to abuse my card with it
by being like, yo, play this record. If I didn't
know that that record was also going on, you know, streaming,
booming on on the internet. I feel like you gotta
kind of get something hot on the internet too, before
you even come to radio. I feel like radio is
one of the last steps. Hell that Louder, Yeah, radio
is one of the last steps. You gotta get lit. Yes,
(01:52):
you gotta get lit and then but they could also
be like a product that's just kind of built for radio.
Like the record I got with Diana. That's a record
that I feel it's just perfect for you know, the
playlists and whether it's the DSPs or radio. However, people
are streaming music, so you know, I'll suggest that record,
but it's ultimately on the DJs and the people how
(02:15):
they take to it.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
No, and again that game plan is great.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
And again we were talking our fair about you're putting
marketing dollars behind all the little you know, all the
stuff that you need to do to make this record
grow at the same time. And that's the part I
feel like a lot of people miss. But you're back
at it man. Blanco seven. Are we switching up this
name ever yet?
Speaker 2 (02:31):
There? I don't know. It was always my plan.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
It was always my plan to cancel it after the seventh.
Let me not say cancel the to let the seventh
one be the last one. It gives me a thrill
to make these projects, you know. It's something about like
this series where on Blanco four, I worked up the
Blanco four and that's when I first charted on Billboard,
and each album has went up since then. Blanco five
(02:57):
was bigger than Blanco four and Blanco six was bigger
than both them. So it's like trying to outdo myself.
I'm an independent artist, but I prod myself and have
an a list features on my albums, you know, these
Blanco serieses, and I prob myself on having a good
balance of melodic and high level rap, melodic music and
high level rap at the same time. So I don't
know if I ever deviate from my brand, you know.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
No, it definitely is.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
Man.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
You know, I was walking around with your shirt in
Miami one time and I got people stopped me. A
few places outside of Boston that have been stopped when
they just seem Blanco. They're like, is that Millies or
is that your last name? Like, you know, is that
like a playoff the thing? I was like, no, millis
what you know about that?
Speaker 2 (03:35):
You know?
Speaker 1 (03:35):
So good job And it always puts a smile on
my face when I go outside of the market because
you know, I'm in a lot of places now and
when they know about you, you made that stamp happen.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
So good job, man, that's incredible. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
I know, I know it's not easy, all right, talk
about this album coming out at midnight twenty tracks.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Talk about the process.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
I think I went through a process of like a
year recording and dropping some of the music off of
this album. You know, I linked up with big artists.
I got everyone from Meek mill on there, you know,
to Masie and Jada Kiss and Davis rob full nine.
I went to the South with it. I got records
with No Cap, brought it back up to New York.
(04:12):
You know, I got records with Deanni Dijor this Booming,
and it's been like, you know, the update on my
state of mind and everything that I've been through.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
That's how I feel about this album.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
It's just giving the fans like, all right, this is
where I'm at at this point in my journey.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Well, we've definitely seen all your freestyles, how you're a
beast on that, a little little vulnerable, and a couple
of these records I'm noticing too, You're definitely you're definitely
pouring out a little bit.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think you've always done that though.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
You've always had you always had the back of a
lot of people that didn't have the voice.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
So I feel like there's just a couple of records.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
On this song too. I like that. I like to.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
I like to purposely see how like vulnerable I could
get into music to see you know. Sometimes even like
I might write a line down or say a line,
and then I might scratch that line because I'm like.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
That's too surface. I want to go I want to
go in more, you know.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
And I try to really get to the core of
my being and where I feel like I'm at and
like what's the thought I really want to say, Like
what would I say if I was embarrassed of people listening?
Speaker 2 (05:09):
You know?
Speaker 4 (05:10):
And I try to say those lines and I just
let that out and that's like therapeutic for me in
a way. So I love being vulnerable in the music
and you know the strength and vulnerability too.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
No, definitely man dope project so far from the stuff
I've heard. Man, let's get into the elite single right now?
You want to get into that one right now? Which
one are we going for?
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (05:27):
Yeah, let's go with My little Ish, My little Ish.
This is featuring Dianni Dior and this is for the clubs.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
It's just like a shorty like fors for like a
guy to be able to play for a shorty.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
Kind of yeah, or a girl to play with the
guy whatever. However, this is a couple's record, a potential
couples record, going to the club, trying to trying to,
trying to find a significant other.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Whatever you want this this is gonna.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
Be a world premiere. Am I gonna get you in trouble?
If playing this before?
Speaker 2 (05:52):
You sure you're gonna be the first one with it?
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Man, let's do it world premiere drop for me? Right now?
Speaker 4 (05:56):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's your man, Millies and this is
my new record feature indor my little ish heyo pop
dog drop my joint. Man, let's get it.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Take your time with it, right a fall in and
goes out.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
That is the world premiere my little ish Right there,
Millie's he's in the studio, Cambridge is very old. Got
Dianni Dior on their album is out at midnight tonight,
Blanco seven. I know you connect with a lot of artists,
but how did the chemistry start with you and Dianni.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
She's from New York uptown.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
I saw her doing a lot of music with Cash
Copain and with the sexy drill stuff, and I always
wanted to kind of get on one of those sexy
drill joints. And we just collapsed in the studio and
we made that made it happen the centers.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Yeah, no, it's a great record, man, My little issues
out right there album comes out at midnight tonight. Obviously
running around, you know with the Jada kiss for your
whole career pretty much, right, how much have you learned
on that side of this next step of your career
when it comes to where you are and where you
want to go.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Yeah, you know, just learning how to deal with the
industry and to be a rapper. You got a lot
of weight on your shoulders people wouldn't know about, you know,
from there's a lot of intangibles that come with being
a rapper and some of the things, you know, I
was able to learn from him and a lot of
the things I had to learn by myself because we're
also in a different situation. New York has a lot
of rappers that made it out, you know, so it's
(07:28):
a little different when you the big fish in a
small pond like this hasn't been a lot of rappers
to pop out of here, so you know, in New
York is five hundred artists. But he still has a
lot of weight on his shoulders, just even being from
you know where he's from over here, man, it's you know,
we're still trying to lay down the blueprint and show
people how to make it happen, So it could be
(07:49):
extra pressure sometimes.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
Well, the biggest blueprint that I've seen you and of
the ones that have actually breaking out, is putting in
that work.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
I mean I showed your pictures from both thirteen fourteen
years ago.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know what I mean, how to
put in work.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
If you study like me, Joiner, be a anybody who's
made real significant progress.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
We all have like ten year careers, right, you know.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
And you're still going hard like artists.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
It's an uphill battle on roller skates. Man, but you
gotta go, you gotta push. Yeah, real, there it is.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Michael seven is out at midnight tonight.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Yet so Millies.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Anytimes an artist comes in, you know, we do this
game where they're about to perform.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
So you're going on tour.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
The first date is actually coming up, and you're gonna
be doing Boston MGM. Yeah, congratulations all that. It's a
big venue. I know you sold out House of Blues
last time. Now you got MGM May tenth, looking forward
to another bigger venue.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Excited.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
You're excited to get on the road.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Super you're gonna have a lot of friends popping out
in different CITs.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
I'm sure.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Yeah, right, Yeah, that's my twist.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
How was I what's what's the jitters like for for
another tour?
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Man? I don't get. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
I like, along the course of the the more my
life got packed, I didn't. I wasn't really too busy
until like right after the pandemic, Like right after, like
twenty twenty one is when my life started to get busy,
when I started to have oh, I got three things
to do this week, and I got four things to
do this week, And twenty twenty two is like I
got five things to do this week, and that's for
the whole course of a year, and then it's like
(09:15):
I got six, I got seven things to do. I
feel like, you know, every day, I got stuff going on.
So I don't really get nervous for stuff until like
the day of it's there.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
Yeah, Like I don't even feel that I'm going on
tour until I'm about to walk out on stage.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
I don't really think about stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
And a good thing about that is too, because we
got so much going on.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
I have to do that because I would be nervous
about something two weeks ahead, And I'm like, why am
I letting this live? Because I got to do so
much other stuff in two weeks. I can't be thinking
about that as much as I want to think about that.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
You got to stay at that moment.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Yeah, it wasn't giving me the right field, Like it
was giving me the anxiety and the nervous feeling. And
I'm like, now I'm just messing up this next two
weeks of my life trying to worry about what's going
to happen two.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Weeks from now.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
So I'm sure that that has something to do with
it too, all right. So I do this with the
artists that come in. People don't know sometimes you know,
they butcher our names out here. So I got I
got the I got the mayor of out here. So
we're gonna make you. You're gonna be the staple of
how everything's supposed to be announced out here.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Man. See The thing with that.
Speaker 4 (10:14):
The thing with that is like, you know, coming coming
from my neighborhood, I have like half a Boston accent,
you know, I have Like it's really a master jos accent,
but I got like half home, you know, get the
cock head.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
What are you doing?
Speaker 3 (10:26):
No, so you don't have to do the Boston accent.
We're just gonna dociations of our cities.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
Oh that's easy, all right, So we're gonna do that's easy,
and you master class.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Right there, we go passing this master class. But you
got to do it like you're on stage. So like
what a Boston you know that kind of way, like
you're hyping up the crowd.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
You want to know these Yeah, you're gonna go for
one out of time, go for them and say like
what's up? So there you go, Okay, Boston, what's up? Peebity,
what's up? Kidd leo my stead? Let me let me,
let me, let me let me bugged out lemons sair
my bad lemonster, lemonster, how you doing. We'll sock it.
(11:01):
I won't talk it right yep, cooks Berry, Wooster, Fitchburg, Salem, Cambridge.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
It's easy, ezy sandwich masks.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
So yeah, it's a blast when I do that with
artists because they be butchered, all of them.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Man, it looks crazy when you look at the word Fitchburg.
It's just right wow. Woolster looks crazy.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
The wooster is the craziest, sir.
Speaker 4 (11:24):
It doesn't even spell Worcester for real, No, or worse sester.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
Worse s ester. There it is Man Million's block on
seven out at midnight.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Bro.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
I always appreciate you masks.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
I gotta add that one there, No, but I appreciate
you always respecting all of us too.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
Man.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
I know you're a big artist, uh, and we try
to support as much as we can. But I also
appreciate how you treat us man and come to us
when it's really time to go.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Yeah. Man, you gotta know you gotta know that.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
That's even when I tell artists about me, like I'll
give you a record, like if I mess with you,
but don't come to me until you got that record,
that's gonna get you something.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
You know right, it's gonna move.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
And so when I whenever I come to Pup Dog, man,
you know, I might not see it for two years,
but I'm coming with something that's gonna go through the room.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
And there it is.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
Man.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
Can we play the swim? Can I bless something?
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Sway? Swim you jack and swim? Yeah, yeah, yeah, this
is swim.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
I'm kicking a record off his album and just playing
it on my own right now because we can.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
We can still do that in radio, you know that. Yeah, yeah,
all right, go for it. Let me get an introduction
on this one and we'll get upot here. What do
you want to tell Boston before you get out here?
Speaker 4 (12:28):
The show is May tenth, Yeah, Boston, the show is
May tenth. Whoever's where this goes to? This goes to
Connecticut sometimes Connecticut, New Hampshire, May Hampshire, Main all the
surrounding areas, man Vermont.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Whoever can hear this right now?
Speaker 4 (12:42):
If you're on iHeart Radio streaming off the app, pull
up May tenth to Millies and Friends. I'm bringing an
exquisite plethora of guests. It'll be an epic, iconic, historic
night May tenth. The weather be hopefully breaking it in
a decent way in Boston in that day, and it's
gonna be a lot of star power, man, a lot
(13:03):
of amazing artists in the building that night. Millies and Friends,
May tenth, get your tickets right now.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
And introduce Swim.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
Now, go ahead, and uh, this is this is my
record called Swims.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
It's talking about some interesting things. Listen to.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Yeah, Kelly on your bag, you hottag.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
Fire work US fall for July with thanks, dripping like
a pass baby, ken A doving.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
Maybe can we swim
