(00:00):
Hi, and so is this ChaseBeckham? Yeah? Hey, how you
doing, Chase? It's Chris andLaurie from Q one O two. So
you've been a very busy man,you haven't been really busy. I'll well,
we're doing just great. We're veryexcited you'll be here headlining the country
music party. Do you have anypink in your wardrobe? Any pink?
No? I don't. All right, So that's your assignment between now and
(00:23):
when you get here, because theofficial colors are pink and very light green
and white, and you'll be surprised. And I'm not putting you on.
All the guys are dressed up inpink. It's really snappy. If you
really want to be part of thegroup, you got to be rocking the
pink. So, Chase, youare really skyrocketing right now. I mean
you're kind of blowing up, aren'tyou. I'm working on it. Yeah,
(00:46):
I'm trying to. We heard aboutwhat happened with Luke Bryan and the
meet and greet the other night whenhe interrupted your meet and greet. Would
you tell the story to our listeners? Oh? Yeah, you know,
we're just backstage meeting with some radiofolks. Luke came back and presented me
with four times platinum plaque for twentythree in Canada, which is just awesome.
(01:06):
You don't really even dream and stufflike that, you know, So
it's crazy whenever somebody who's helped youout hands you a plaque. And he's
given me one on American Idol andgiving me one backstage now, so it's
pretty cool to keep on having himbe a part of that. Well,
Chase, the thing is, Ihad to go back and make sure that
the story was right because I believedplatinum, but four times platinum is unheard
(01:27):
of. That's amazing, man.Yeah, it's awesome. I mean I
didn't anticipate that at all, soit's cool. You know, I was
just meeting some people and hanging out, so it's kind of it's kind of
cool to get surprised with something likethat. Yeah, just to see,
you know, the growth of thesong and how much it connects with the
fans, It's it's just really incredible. How are the fans treating you on
(01:48):
the road. It's been great,I mean all the show has been incredible.
We've been getting to open up forLuke. We got an hour set.
We just put out a new recordBad for Me a little over a
week ago, and I'm playing thesenew songs and the fans been all awesome.
So it's been great she getting toget out on the road and have
that experience with the fans. Thisis really a dream come true. Right.
It's one thing that you win AmericanIdol, that's incredible, right,
and then the world is watching itin that moment. But as you know,
(02:13):
well after American Idol and all theglitter hits the floor, suddenly it's
just you making that dream come true. It's all up to you to get
it done, and you're doing it. What does it feel like? I
don't know, it really just it'sawesome to you know, I have a
lot of people around me who contributeto what's going on and make sure that
i'm you know, where I needto be and doing what I need to
(02:34):
do. And so if it wasn'tfor those people, you know, I
don't know where I'd be. Andit's just awesome to be out here and
still be making music and getting toshow up in those fans ready to listen.
So I don't know, it's it'sjust awesome to be able to,
you know, still be doing thisand still be relevant. You know,
I always told myself in five yearsafter I won the show, in five
years, I still wanted to bemaking music. So yeah, it feels
(02:58):
good to still be making music. So you're hitting the road, You're all
over the place. Were you touringor doing road trips before Idle or is
this new to you? Not likewhat I'm doing now? Definitely nothing to
the extent of traveling around the worldand traveling in the country and being gone
(03:19):
pretty much every week. So thisis all new. But I've been doing
it for the last three years,so I felt like I've really cut my
teeth, you know, playing allthese shows that I've been offered to play
and just going everywhere with my bandand doing everything that we can, just
trying to get the music out thereand play on the road, and eventually
it just turns into something bigger. And that's kind of what we're seeing happen
right now. So it's cool justto watch that process and watch that growth.
(03:43):
What's the craziest place you've played sofar? The craziest festival I think
that we did was Cavendish up inPrince Edward Island, and I think there
was somewhere around thirty thousand plus, and that was the biggest crowd that we've
ever played for that was actually listeningto us. That is frustrating when you're
a musician and you're playing and peopleare having their conversations instead of watching.
(04:06):
And it's always so great when they'retuned in, dialed into what you are
doing. That's what you're going toget at the Apple Blossom Festival. This
is a whole lot of fun andwe're very excited to have you up on
our stage. So as you lookforward to the concert, what kind of
things can we expect when we seeyou up on stage. Oh, I
don't know. I just I definitelysing my songs, you know. I
(04:28):
just try to try to make surethat the music and my voice and everything
sounds exactly like my record does. And you know, I don't really I
don't do a whole lot other thanjust you know, trying to play the
music as good as I can.And I hope that the fans who are
there to you know, listen tomusic and hear good music appreciate it.
So that's that's my goal every timewe get up there, is just to
(04:50):
sound good. So yeah, hopefullyeverybody will enjoy the set, you know,
and the songs that we're saying, and hopefully they go home and listen
to the record. I think itsounds like what they heard heard at the
show. So you're coming to Winchester, Virginia and this is the home of
Patsy Klin. Hopefully you'll get alittle bit of time here. Maybe we
(05:12):
can get you over to Patsy Klein'shistoric house where she grew up. Yeah,
that'd be incredible. Hopefully, youknow, hopefully I have a little
bit of a free time when I'mdown there. I'm sure they're going to
make sure you don't have any freetime, I believe me. But we'll
see what we can do, Ipromise. So it's been a lot of
fun talking to you, man,go back to sleep. Thank you so
(05:38):
much. I appreciate you time.We really are excited about having here,
Chase, and it's going to beterrific continued success. Twenty three was an
incredible song and just looking forward toyour music so much. It's nice to
hear such a genuine voice on theradio. I think you're in for a
really good career, I hope.So thank you so much. Have a
great day, Bud. Appreciate it. Bye,
