Speaker 1 (00:00):
Here. What's up?

Speaker 2 (00:00):
This is MIAVI and you're watching I heard Radio Ask
Anything Chat.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Thanks to Romeo and A mostly requested Live for having me.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
So I'm gonna talk about my new single we stay
up all night?

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Okay. So yeah, let's let's get it started.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
So Linda from La California, take us back to when
you first got signed?

Speaker 1 (00:24):
How did it happen with food? First got signed? Means
maybe the record label. I think that was Universal Record.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
When I was twenty one year old, twenty one to
twenty two years old, I was pretty young. I didn't
know anything about the music industry. I just, you know,
keep playing the guitar, rocking.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Now. I wish I've got.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
You know, I could be back that time so that
I can do more. Okay, So next one, when from
Hong Kong, how do you stay so energetic even with
so many events scheduled and the jet lug? I think
it's very important to stick with the routine because you

(01:11):
know different places, different time zones, and different situations. So
and then especially you know that when your body wants
to sleep or rest, you've gotta make the best performance,
you know, no matter how hard to deal with the
jet lug I'm responsible to do my best.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Sometimes I can't, but at least I do.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
My best to give them my best performance, you know.
So that's my you know, the way to show my respect.
So that's why I do everything. I do everything for
the moment I hit the stage. Okay, we go from Tokyo, Japan.
Which would you rather receive a Grammy or an Academy

(01:56):
or what?

Speaker 1 (01:57):
A question? Is both?

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Maybe I don't actually, I mean, of course Grammy is,
you know, as a musician, but.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Both great. You know.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
So as many of the artists or actors who received
those hours, you know, have said, it's not everything, you know,
it's just a icon or symbol, you know, and you know,
celebration of your great creation and dedication as well. The

(02:37):
answer is is impossible to choose, you know. So Penny
from Seattle, Washington, I want to know who is your
role model?

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Interesting question.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
I mean, I'm always gonna having a hard time to
answer to this kind of question because, you know, as
an actor, I do respect Morgan Freeman or Jack Nicholson
or Yusaka Matsuda or his leisure, you know, those those people,
those actors. But as a musician, I do respect b

(03:12):
Be King, Buddy Guy and Stevie Rayvon as a guitarist,
but at the same time as a performer, you know,
Elvis Presley or Marcus Jackson and Prince of course, and
you know, it's kind of different thing, you know, each
each genre. You know, there's so many people I admire

(03:33):
and respect and I learned from, you know, I might
kind of stopping technique is from Louis Johnson or Larry
Graham or Marx Miler.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Those bass players, you know, but at the same time.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
I perform, you know, like Prince, uh those people.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
So yeah, but in my.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Life genuinely like I respect, I mean I respect and
appreciate you know, my mom, you know, who gave me
freedom because now I'm a parent and with three kids.
When I moved to Tokyo from Osaka when I was
seventeen years old, I lost my friend in a hometown

(04:18):
and I didn't want to stay there, and then I
just decided to go to Tokyo. But anyway I wanted,
I wanted to go to Tokyo sooner or later. So
I just got the ticket, you know, on the bus
from Kyoto because the ticket from the for the bus
from Osaka to Tokyo was sold out, so I went
to Kyoto.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
But I just called my mom to let her know
I'm going to Tokyo.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Then I expected that she was going to tell me
that don't go or stay, but she said that just
be careful.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
He said, and then she let me go. And then.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
I didn't realize how hard to say that, you know,
at that moment. But now I know, because I'm not
sure if I can say that to my daughters when
they say they leave.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
You can't say that, you know, if you don't. I mean,
I believe in my my, my my daughters and my kids.
But at the same time, I'm you know, anxious, you know.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
It's hard to like go, you know, especially the things
that you admire, you treasure in your life, especially your kids.
And but she did it, you know, she I'm sure
she wanted to stop me, but.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
She did she didn't.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
So I really really respect and then at that moment,
I've got freedom, you know, from her. You know, I
was not able to speak English when I was young,
I ofcause Chinese either.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
I didn't have.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Any musical treatment or education from my family. But I've
got freedom, you know, from my my mom, you know,
so I do respect her and yeah, so Joanne from Charlotte,

(06:07):
North Carolina, Caroina. Is there any plan to join a
stage at any music festival in the US in twenty
twenty five? That's my question, you know, if there's an opportunity,
I love, you know, you know it's Coachella, lots of
lots of great festivals in the US, and then I'm
always ready, you know, I'm pretty busy, you know, in

(06:27):
other countries. But if there's an opportunity or stage that
I can play, i'd love to, you know, call me anytime.
And Jerry from Dalton, Jeojia. What's the best award I've
ever won?

Speaker 1 (06:40):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Actually I haven't been kind of awarded that much, but
I've got some award Wable award in China in twenty
twenty four, and also twenty twenty three or twenty twenty two,
I got the kind of best Daddy Howard something two.
I guess, especially during COVID, I was I was, you know,

(07:04):
stuck in Japan, and I was a home playing music
with my kids and I've got a orded and then
that was sweet, you know, because during COVID everybody was anxious,
you know, how the future would be like. And I
you know, even we all musicians were anxious and nervous
because we were not sure if we could go back

(07:26):
to the stage to perform. So but I wanted to,
you know, of course that was actually a great opportunity
for me to spend time with my kids, and you know,
so we did music, and I just wanted to share
the time that I you know, I spent with my
kids with my fans as well.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Especially around that time. Everybody was so anxious, so we
were kind of blocked.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
You know, broadcasting, you know, the live on Instagram, can
performing some songs, you know, happy kind of moment, you know,
So yeah, that ourd It's pretty sweet. And you know,
raising kids is not easy. And then one hundred percent

(08:13):
in respect and appreciation to my wife Melody, because she's
been doing that and most.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Of the stuff. You know, that's that's everything.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Actually, you know, I've been away from home a lot,
so I'm like a you know, I feel like a
grandpa or grandma or is this the hard thing is
to deal with the hard part, you know in daily
life and every day morning you know, go to the
school or come back and just do that those or
lessons or stuff, you know, just cooking and everything. So

(08:42):
I do respect, you know, one hundred percent, you know,
to my wife Melody, as a partner as their mom.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
And yeah, so that's why it makes me. I realized
how important I do my role as a dad.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
You know, sometimes I do, you know, scold them, you know,
to be strict sometimes and we need to guide them,
you know, say something that they won't don't.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Want to hear. You know, that's our responsibility and enrolled.
So what's the question. Yeah, anyway, So yeah, so when.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
I got that award, the best that our it means
that best mom award at the same time, you know
what I mean. So I couldn't even get that one
without the effort the melody.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
You know, gave to our kids. So that's how I feel,
you know.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
All right, Next one, So Jen from Buffalo, New York.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
What is the last thing you do before you go
on stage? I pray.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
With my members, staff, you know, bad members, dancers and staff.
I pray like you know, the moment you might have seen,
like your that moment, Yeah, to to make sure why
we exist on stage, why we were allowed to play

(10:16):
music on stage, and.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
What our missions are.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
You know, you always kind of deliver the message and
then the good vibes from the stage to the people and.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Also to the world no matter where we are.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
And that's what I make sure with the with the crew.
You know does how to be perfect, but we try
to make you perfect and then we do our best.
You know, that's our mission responsibility. Okay, next we talk
from Chicago. I just wanted to wish you and your
family America Christmas.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Thank you. I wish America Christmas to you too. I
really hope you.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Guys have a great time with the family, friends whoever
who we love. And you know, even if you're alone,
that's that's great too. You know, most important things to
appreciate every single moment we were living in and then
always always look up to the sky and then just
keep moving forward the future.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
It's pretty chy, but that's everything, you know, and.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
If you can feel joy over those things then would
be great.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
You know. So however, very very happy holidays and have
a great time with the family.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Okay, So the last thing, last question Bath from Yonkers,
New York. Looking back, why fashion trend do you think
you should have skipped?

Speaker 1 (11:47):
This is the last question. There are many there are many,
but I don't regret. But I could have skipped. Yeah,
there are many like I used to gonna wear some
gonna put some fake.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Mustache, or I don't regret that was a sweet moment, memories.
You know, I had a great time with my fans.
But now I see it like, oh, yeah, you.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Did it, you know. But the thing is, I don't
regret and I don't stop.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
You know, sometimes I do I wear gonna wear stuff
even now and maybe twenty years later, I do say
the same thing like oh, I don't know why I
wore that clothes, but I do not regret that I
tried and did it, because you know, there's no time
to regret either.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Even if you regret, you can't go back. You know,
you gotta just do better.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
And then the thing is that to me, you know,
the gap between yourself now and yourself twenty years before.
You know, if the gap is big, which is great,

(13:04):
you can't even believe in that. You know you are
like that by which means you improved that much. So
to me too, you know, compared to myself when I
was eighteen years old or twenty five years old, I'm different.
The core part is the same but I improved and

(13:24):
it evolved. That's my confidence, and that's a good thing,
you know. So you know, you never know how much
it can change, you know, and which means twenty years
later you might be able to I might be able
to become somebody else totally different in a good way.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
You know.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
That's a evolution. You know, that's how human beings evolved.
And I feel even in my life, I've been evolving.
And then if I can leave, I can, you know,
create something in that evolution, which is great, and that's
one of the reasons why I exist in this life.

(14:09):
So so the answer is, yes, there are lots of
clothes that I should I should, I could.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
HI scaped, but I don't regret. So what's the game?

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Thank you so much of watching on I Ask Anything
Chat and thanks to Romeo and most requested, most requested Live.
I hope you guys have a good time and I
have good time and I talked a lot.

I hope you guys to enjoy my new music single
we Say Up All Night.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
And also a new album, Lost in Love, Funding Pain.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
You know, lots of lots of love in the album
and then you know their love and also the pain
as well. But the most important thing is to the
to find a path to find yourself.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
You know.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
I hope my music can support you know, everybody who
listen to and also I'm looking forward to walking up
