Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the after show decompression session, doing what they do best,
glapping their gums. Okay, I was going to nap out
there for all.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Bit Hey, your buddy Ricky Burt he and his wife Brinda,
they celebrated a big wedding over the weekend.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Yes, they did, very nice, said Rickye. I see rickyev
once in a while.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Thirty second or thirty fourth wedding anniversary A long time.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
How long have you, Endeavor been married?

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Thirty two?

Speaker 3 (00:28):
That's a long time too.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Yeah, she's about ready to smother me in my sleep.

Speaker 5 (00:34):
You always say that you're a keeper at this point, Well,
it's the best that was available.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
At the time.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Channel eight had a story about Laura and Billy Mays
in Irving.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
They've been married for eighty years.

Speaker 5 (00:49):
Oh my god, imagine that's not the Billy Mays who
tried to sell us those cleaners.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
No, this is Billy Mays.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
God, Gavin, I got the barbie.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
That guy he died, Yes he did, and he died.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
And then they they did toxicology on it and found
out he'd like the.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Yeah, the nose candy he was cleaning. Ye, he was
clean the mirrors.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Yeah, that was mirror.

Speaker 5 (01:16):
I gotta get this white stuff off. This mirror had
me a straw? Will you or roll up a dollar bill?

Speaker 3 (01:23):
But I kept thinking of like, eighty years married.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
On my jaw drops, thirty years marriage my jaw drops, eighty.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Got God bless him.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
I guess if you haven't killed each other.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
But one of them must be deaf, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Or just able to ignore.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Really well, that.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Was my trick with my mom, God bless her. And
she used to always accuse me when I was in
college of being deaf. She goes, you get that from
your father's side of the family.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
You're losing your hearing. I was like, no, I just
not ignore.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
You, would you say, mom?

Speaker 4 (02:00):
They call that selective hearing?

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (02:04):
And then I alshow with my mom? If my mom
was talking to trash about somebody that I didn't want
her to be talking trash about and I didn't want
to hear it, I would distract her. I would change
the subject and I was like, hey, Mom, how.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Did Aualita meet Ao our grandparents? How did they meet?

Speaker 2 (02:18):
And then she would just go off on that store
oh yeah, oh yeah, and then she'd stop bitching about
somebody or other.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Did she forget why she was bitching.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Yeah, yeah, because she'd be telling me, Oh, they met
when your grandmother was only sixteen years old.

Speaker 5 (02:31):
It's all about redirection. That's what you do in sports, regree.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
That was the key.

Speaker 6 (02:37):
Listen, how sweet My ex father in law and ex
mother in law met and went on their first date
at Dairy Queen in Brownsville, Texas.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Oh wow, really way down there in the Mexican border,
you know.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
So our coworker Candice Lopez, her parents, Randy and Gloria,
their first date was at a what a Burger? Every
year they just celebrated their anniversary and every year for
their anniversary they always go to water Broo.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
Yeah that roan with a slash of cheese to go
with it.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Your first date, now, I know how you and Deborah
met at a party and then she saw you in
the West End at that Van Halen thing or what
show was?

Speaker 1 (03:20):
So it was Jeff Healey.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Yeah, So what was your.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
First date when you actually picked her up and went
out on a date.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Where did you guys go?

Speaker 1 (03:29):
We went to a Ranger game to see Nolan Ryan pitch.
Oh yeah, that's nice. He got hammered that kay. It
was not a good day for old Noel.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Yeah, were you able to get a home run? Or
did you strike out that night with Deborah? No?

Speaker 1 (03:41):
I swung and missed, But then I had other chances
to step up to look at you.

Speaker 6 (03:46):
Well, yeah, thirty two years mister smoothie. You know what,
I have figured something out about bou Roberts behind the scenes.
Boa Roberts, I don't know if all y'all know or
will even believe based on his public persona, He's a
really good family man, oh big. And all you have
to do is hear Bailey's voice, either at seventeen or

(04:10):
currently to know that he's got happy kids.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
That's like and they want to hang out with you.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Yeah, because I told him the better be happy or
I'll woo.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
It worked, Yes, it works.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Oh so.

Speaker 6 (04:26):
Over the weekend I watched the music documentary and I
didn't think I was gonna be that interested in it,
and it turned out to be something I couldn't peel
my eyes away from. It was really good. The documentary
on Yacht Rock on HBO. Max hadn't seen that yet.
I learned two wild things about Christopher Cross. Of all people,

(04:46):
I wanted to share with you guys.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
I know one thing. He actually goes sailing.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
He does like to go sailing.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Yeah, and when he's caught up in New York City.

Speaker 6 (04:56):
You know those two songs, the Arthur Theme and Sailing
Are those were his number one ers. Those were his
two big number ones. He was originally this young hippie
look in college kid named Chris Ginley, and he played
guitar so well that they threw him into a Deep

(05:16):
Purple lineup last minute when Richie Blackmore suddenly fell ill.
It's the only time during Blackmore's run in Deep Purple
when he wasn't able to perform with the band. He
got sick last minute, and they started asking around backstage,
and this guy said, oh, I've got this kid, Chris Kinley,
big Deep Purple fan. He can probably do Christopher Cross.

(05:38):
And he went up there and he nailed it with
no time to rehearse or anything filled in for Richie
in Deep Purple.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Wow, she didn't know it was that good of a
guitar player.

Speaker 6 (05:48):
That's how he started out his career. It had nothing
to do with yacht rock singing, writing flaccid rock hits,
as Anna says, nothing to do with all.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
He was just a kid guitarist when Chris Cross.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
When Christopher Cross was big, it wasn't considered yacht rock.
It was just considered the rock of the Dots.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
It's like pop, yeah, radio pop.

Speaker 6 (06:09):
But he didn't when they when they started to make
their way and he started to put a band together
and put that sound together.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
He was never known personally as Christopher Cross.

Speaker 6 (06:20):
That was the name of the entire band and Cooper, Yes,
Leonard Skinnered or Peter Floyd.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
They think there is no Leonard skinnerd in Leonard Skinner
and there was no Christopher Cross and Christopher Cross.

Speaker 6 (06:33):
Eventually, the record company kind of fucked everybody else and said, Chris,
we're gonna sign you, but we're not going to sign
the rest of the band.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
So you got no other choice.

Speaker 6 (06:42):
So he he went ahead and took the name Christopher
Cross as his rock star name.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
Christopher Cross. Information for you guys, absolutely free.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Really, Christopher Choice.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
I have his albums, his album, yes, more than one.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Well, I have the Arthur soundtrack, which is awesome, and
then I have his you know, Sailing and it's green.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
I can see the cover right now.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
But you know what, since.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
You've got Max HBO, Max, have you seen the Pit yet.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
With I've been told that I must.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Oh my god, it is a medical drama with Noah Wiley,
who was on Er with George Clooney.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
It is so freaking good. It is awesome.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
See.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
But by the time you tell me about these great shows,
I'm already way too far behind.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Every Well that you can catch up.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
You could just get on Max right now and you
can binge watch all the episodes after my nap.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
After your nat Yes, that's right.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
And you know what the thing is is that with
a PIT they have only done word of mouth advertising.
They haven't really even advertised, and it's huge. And it's
one day at a hospital, in the emergency room at
a hospital in Pittsburgh, and it's just one day. And
so every episode it's like one hour a couple of

(08:01):
hours from that day. So it's in real time supposedly,
you know.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
But that's really interesting.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
I saw a bunch of episodes yesterday for.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
The real fake time.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
Let's let's at least take a call here while we're here, Hello,
bow of.

Speaker 7 (08:18):
Them show, good morning to say in how y'all go? Well,
y'all missed a great show Friday night. This morning, None
of y'all made it out, but let me sorry, Well
that's all right. I And anyway, I messaged Brandy this
morning and let me just read this quick to y'all.
He said, oh, thank you for the update. Yes, I

(08:40):
already have friended Harper based man account because he told
me that he friended Randy and just kind of lost
connection after he moved because he got hacked. And he said,
that's awfully nice. And Ricky, I hope he's doing okay.
He had some health problems recently. Thank you so much
for the updates. And he sent me a picture of
his little baby girl read I mean he dragged with

(09:03):
their little basket. But he's saying, we're having some major
issues here in Prisno. Our computer server that holds all
of our audio has cracked. God, and so we are
switched over to full time Fox TV News. Yikes. Oh
my god, that'll be fun for you.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
We've done that before. We've had major technical issues.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Oh yeah, we get them all the time.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
Unfortunately, yes we do.

Speaker 7 (09:31):
But it was so fun. I danced all night, just.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Reminist what was what was Friday night? It was a.

Speaker 7 (09:38):
Remember?

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Oh yeah, they did like a lone star rascuals reunion
there at hub one Te Texas Clearwater Retival, and I
saw the picture of you dancing, and I saw Matt
the cat and Shelley and Susanna.

Speaker 7 (09:51):
He didn't post that, did he he did?

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (09:54):
Oh my, I'm gonna choke him. You did a great job, Matt.
I know you're listening. Uh well, because I was just
a little bit tipsy, and no, tell as well. It
looked like anyway. Susan, I mean Shelley drove over to
the house because she's coming from May Bank and we
rode together out there, and then Matt met us at
that Chinese place which was excellent, the one he loved

(10:16):
so much.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
Yes, Yes, did he get the duck?

Speaker 7 (10:20):
No he No, he got these I don't know what,
the shrimp something and they were good. Oh the BOTCHOI yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
The garlic BOTCHOI. I saw him chow.

Speaker 7 (10:31):
I didn't know he. I saw some of his posts.
But Facebook is weird about what you see. But was
Bailey's birthday Thursday or Friday night?

Speaker 1 (10:39):
It was actually Saturday, but we went to dinner on
Friday night.

Speaker 7 (10:43):
Yeah, torellies.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Yes, and I had that Grandscape event which was a long,
long day.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
So yes, I'm so tired by the.

Speaker 7 (10:52):
Time I got home, and I know Ao was taken
off to the next morning.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
Yeah, I had a field assignment on Saturday that was
a lot of fun, but altogether it was close to
seven hours out of my Saturday.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Damn.

Speaker 6 (11:05):
Yeah, it's two hour drive each way, two hour event
and Walma Springs is absolutely beautiful. But yeah, I'll tell
you what, Diana came real close to making it. I
took an afternoon nap on Friday, and when my body
woke up, when my body woke up on its own
and said okay, we're ready to wake up and do something,
it was seven forty five.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Yeah, they didn't.

Speaker 7 (11:25):
They didn't go on till seven thirty. I don't know
you're from Louisville.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
I'm in I'm in Old Point, right near Little Hoe.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Hey, how was the wind because it was so windy
a Grandscape on Friday?

Speaker 7 (11:35):
Well, the way I had never been out there is
my first time out at the Hub, and I asked
Shelley if it was like Grand's Cave. She said, yes,
but smaller, and all the buildings because it's kind of
in the middle of the of the all the restaurants
and the stage kind of covered it all, but it
was fun, fun, fun. Heyo, did you do your gig
out there?

Speaker 2 (11:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (11:56):
It was.

Speaker 6 (11:57):
It was a real bless I'm at some really weet
people out there at that car show, and it's a
beautiful part of the country. Bosky County is just the
ship if you ask me, it's it looks like it's
the beginning of Texas Hill Country. Then you're crossing over
the Brazos River and going through Glen Rose and the
the what the hell is the trail at Chisholm Trail.

(12:20):
I thought you'd have fun with that one, but I did.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Lash.

Speaker 6 (12:27):
Yeah, But after I got home on Saturday, I saw
all these video reels that Matt was posting up and whatnot,
and some of them allowed me to soak in performances
of this band that I've been trying to catch up
and see.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
And I will make it out to a show soon,
I promise you that.

Speaker 7 (12:45):
Rick said the next time would be in September and
they're playing going to open for a Beatles tribute band.
But he didn't. I don't know if his Sergeant Pepper's
or the other lonely Hard Days night.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
I do know that that Texas Clearwater revival show was
the first free summer show that they're having a Hub
one twenty one, so they're gonna have a bunch of
other Yeah.

Speaker 7 (13:08):
Yeah, yeah. The next night was Tom Petty tribute band.
That would have been fun for me, but the uh,
he said, we don't need tips because the Hub takes
real good care of his people.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Yeah, the dude can sing.

Speaker 6 (13:24):
I finally got to at least hear the guy's voice
who sings for that band, and he has he's got
that pitch, he's got that Fogerty pitch going on. I
can see why they put this together and why they
take it very seriously because they've.

Speaker 7 (13:37):
Got something behind the stage about all of Fogerty's life
growing up. Yeah, we got to.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (13:43):
He told a lot of history that I was unfamiliar with.
So it was fun, fun, fun. On another note, and
I'll let you guys go, but it was a strange
to me that the Pope passed right after Easter.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
And I'm sorry, yeah, weird, weird, you know, especially because
yesterday morning I was so excited because he did the
blessing at Saint Peter's Basilica, the Easter blessing. He didn't
do the mass. He didn't do any of the masses
during Holy Week, but seeing him on TV yesterday, I
was like, look, he's you know, he's getting better. And
then this morning when I got to work.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
I saw the news and it just broke my heart.
But you know what, he had been sickly so.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
He was eighty eight years old.

Speaker 7 (14:23):
Yes, yes, yes, Well they say you get a lot
better before you pass.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
And so through the surge they call it.

Speaker 7 (14:29):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, Well, y'all have a
great week. It was a great show. I loved to
wake up Slap. I just laughed and laughed. La was
such a good actress.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
Like terror going popping attitude with.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
Trying to be so smooth.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
It was I'll, well, I have physical therapy.

Speaker 6 (14:55):
To go to hounds, and I heard you're doing real,
real well with your recovery.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
I am diligent about my exercises that the doctor has
been giving me, so I'm doing much better. This might
be my last physical thing.

Speaker 4 (15:10):
Yeah, you're kind of at the tail end of all this.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
That's good hopefully.

Speaker 5 (15:13):
Yes, Okay, we'll see you tomorrow for a toy box Tuesday,
and of course we'll have more chances for you to
pick between NASCAR tickets or tickets to see bockwin.

Speaker 6 (15:23):
Turner over the damn righty toy over good zoom type.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
He usually does that. All right, we'll see you tomorrow.
We'll keep it between the ditches.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
