Speaker 2 (01:24):
Hey? Thanks for that intro. Thanks. Hey.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
You know what, I'll just follow you everywhere you go.
I'll do that same one every time, you know, get
the city pumped.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
You know, I'm a jack of all trade.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
That's right, you really do. And I'm thinking back, Vinnie,
you know to the first season of Jersey Shore. That
was what two thousand and nine when Jersey Shore came
out right on MTV, And I think back to, you know,
the very very beginning where you know, they bring the
cast together, you and your your soon to be housemates,
and here you are this you know, very sweet innocent guy,
(01:57):
right and like from a farm, you know, with this
sweet Italian family, you know, nice parents and everything else.
You know, you got the whole thing. And then you
are thrust into this world of Jim tanning and laundry
and trying to get late all the time and partying
and all this other stuff. I mean, what was your
like first? I gotta say your first month had to
be like such a weird culture shock? Am I wrong?
Speaker 2 (02:19):
I mean I was a partying guido myself. I just
kind of was like, what the hell am I doing.
Why are there thirty cameras on me? And you know
I did. I I wasn't used to it. I did
kind of. I was twenty one years old at the time. Right.
It took me a little bit just to kind of
get get adjusted. But then I started to, Uh, I mean,
(02:42):
I guess like in comparison to the rest of them,
I went to college. Yeah, I was a little bit
more wholesome, but I wasn't an angel. I wasn't an angel.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
I'm not an angel now even before Jersey Shore? Am
I wrong? You were? You were about to go to
law school before all that? Right?
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Yeah? I literally had just graduated three point nine GPA
from with a political science degree, and I was taking
my lats and I remember I took my l SATs
the day of like I couldn't even make it to
like the first Reunion show because I was taking my
l sets. And then little by little I was like, uh,
(03:20):
all right, I don't think I'm gonna need that.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
Yeah, but how did you even fall into it?
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Like did someone scout you? Did you apply somewhere? How
do you go from? Oh?
Speaker 2 (03:29):
It was it was just like people. It was like
a local thing at first, like the show was never
supposed to be anything bigger than just like a one
hour special on MTV. But so people were like kind
of just passing around these like little applications, you know,
and they were and I was like, I'll fill one out.
It's my first my first summer at the Jersey Shore.
(03:51):
And then I filled one out trying to be like
a local celebrity just to get girls, and then into
like a whole TV show. We're still doing it fifty
years later. Insane.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
That's awesome, right, And I think that part worked out,
you know, using it to get girls. I think that
might have worked a little bit. It's so crazy too,
I mean, I mean obviously it started out small. You
had no idea it was going to get this big.
When did you realize that, oh wow, this thing is huge,
because it was and still is MTV's biggest show they've
ever done, Like they've never had anything that's ever compared.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Yeah, I think, just like, you know, again, we were
supposed to be just there. There had been reality shows
at the time, and you know, usually a couple of
people see it and it's and then it goes away.
But you know, the first day that Jersey Shore aired,
like the next day we were flying on planes to
la and to be on you know talk shows right
(04:46):
going to award shows and we're on the Jay Leno
and David Letterman and like it was just like, oh,
this is different.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Right, and you have had like you know with Jersey Shore,
I mean, because it's still going on, you have another
season that's that's happening right now. You know, it's is
it still happening or still going on? Right know, it's
on all the time.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Yeah. So what happened was we did six seasons of
the original and then we spent a couple of years
off and we thought that that was it was it,
that were like, all right, we had a good run.
And then about like five years later, we pitched Jersey
Shore Family Vacation as almost like you know, like one
just little reunion with all of us, and we went
(05:26):
to Miami. And then when the world saw that we
were still sort of like, I mean, we had families,
but we were kind of degenerates, right, they they they
followed us. And now we're on our almost going on
our ninth season of Jersey Shore Family Vacation, And that's
been a whole other thing of like you know, who's
(05:48):
been to prison, Who's that divorce was a dance?
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Yeah? Is this a lot?
Speaker 3 (05:55):
And that's the thing about your crew is I feel like, obviously,
outside of the cameras, you guys are really good friends,
or at least you know most of you are. So
I gotta know who in the group is gonna tell
Polly it's okay he can switch up his hairstyle now.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Nah. I think he tried that once and then it
kind of feel like the earth like rotated off his axis.
It for like a second, you know what.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Any have you ever heard of the Mendela effect where
people swear that things have changed, Like there used to
be a movie with Shaquille o'nea when he played a
gm AM and like they say logos have changed and stuff. Okay,
some people say it was when they turned down that
big CERN machine, the C E r N machine in
Sweden and it created like a false black hole. I
don't think so. I think the world changed and that
(06:43):
Mandela effect that is because of polyd and him changed
his hair.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
Ever did I've never seen him any other way?
Speaker 1 (06:50):
It was a one off.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Does it ever come up in the group though, Like
once in a while, we've seen it.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
We've seen it, but it's on brand for him that
it could happened, we would all literally get uncomfortable and
be like, what are you doing?
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Exactly? The worst thing in the best thing in the
world for him is that he's got a nice head
of hair, you know what I mean, Like he's got
to get good genes for that. It works for him,
It does, it does. He does it very well. And
obviously you know you are you all are very very close,
which is great that you've you know, been able to
because that that normally doesn't happen. You know. As a
matter of fact, really the things that happen with an
on Jersey Shore have really never happened on other reality
(07:24):
shows because, like you said, MTV's had reality shows before
they had The Real World, Who's been going on forever.
But none of those cast mates really bonded that way.
You don't really hear about them hanging out after and
they certainly didn't go on to do many not many
of them went on to go do other things after
those shows had run, you know what I mean, whereas
all of you guys did.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, first of all, the longest I
think original cast to ever be one of one of them.
Maybe I don't even usually fifteen years later, like a
show would switch up his cast at some point, Yes,
but where the longest original cast that has a show
fifteen years later? And uh and yeah, you know from that,
(08:05):
we've all taken on opportunities and you know in the
entertainment industry and other you know, Paulie's like crazy successful
DJ and I'm doing comedy and a bunch of other
shows and uh and not even that, like you know,
everyone has, well not me, I'm still single, but everyone has.
You hear that?
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Lady?
Speaker 3 (08:26):
When are you going to settle down?
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Vine? So?
Speaker 3 (08:30):
When are you going to settle down? Do you have
like an idea trying?
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Are you?
Speaker 2 (08:34):
You're trying what I'm trying? I'm thirty seven now and
you know it's getting to that point, but it's hard
to find the one these days.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
What are you looking for? What's a what are the
qualities in the lady that's going to attract Vinnie?
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Uh? You know, big booty? What a good Stanter?
Speaker 1 (08:53):
There you go? There it is. I like it.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
What about one of those when attitude?
Speaker 1 (08:58):
No? And I got to think that both that's right,
don't settle I got to think too since Jersey Shore
has started, because you know, like we were saying, you know,
you have so many other ventures that you've been into.
You've done so many other shows, and you know, you've
written a book, you know, and you got the whole
the Keto Guido thing that was going on with the
with the diet, Like, what was the weirdest thing that
(09:20):
somebody had to approach you with? Because I'm sure people
have tried to get to you go, oh, Vinnie, you
gotta partner with me on this thing. We got to collaborate,
We got to collaborate. I'm sure you've heard that a
million times. What's the weirdest thing that someone's ever tried
to pitch you?
Speaker 2 (09:33):
Well, yeah, you're right, it does happen every day. But
I would say during the like the only fins pop,
Like I was. I got offered that for sure. And
it was funny because I was doing the show in
Vegas tripping dales at the time. I was taking it. Yeah,
and I thought about it. I was like, all right, well,
(09:54):
like Della Thorn just made like a million dollars Friday, Yeah,
and I'm like, and I just posted a picture of
my ass taking a shower on Instagram. So I'm like,
you know, I've paid for it, but I never did it.
I never I never ventured into that territory. And I'm
kind of glad I didn't, just because so many people
ended up doing it. And I'm just like, I could
(10:15):
be like, all right, like I never had an only fan, right.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
Yeah, you could be like that one lady though the
claims that she made forty three million dollars a year
off only fans. Who knows.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
I mean, listen, as soon as I hear that, I
go right back to the only fans. That's why I
do this.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
What is next for you? Because I mean, you've done
so many things, and you know obviously you're continuing and
you're going on and always looking for those those opportunities.
What is next for you? Vinnie?
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Honestly, I am like all in on stand up right now,
and I do it every night in New York. Like
New York City is one of the hardest places to
grow and to learn, and I go up in front
of so I go in basements in front of ten people,
twenty people, and I just brack this and I work
(11:00):
out and I really study it like a nerd. I
don't do it like, you know, like a celebrity who
has fans and just gets up there and starts telling stories.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Like an equation. Like it's like it's a math formula
or something.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Yeah. I mean, I'm a comedy nerd, you know. I
study Chris Rock and Mark Norman and Heel and Bill Burr,
and then I I try to find my own version
of of that. And I'm just starting to go on
the road now. I didn't want to just go on
the road right away, so it took like a year
to really and I'm still growing. It's gonna be another
(11:34):
couple of years of growing, but I might as well
just grow sometimes in front of my fans in a
different market. Florida. Naples is like a great first stop
for me because it's like, uh, you know, it's New Yorkers,
but it's also just quick. It feels like home down there,
building an extension of New York exactly.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
That's gonna be awesome. That's awesome. Man. I'm so happy
for you and that you're into this, this this venture
of and I can see this working out really really
well for you, and you're doing the right thing.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Man.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
I mean, New York City just like you said, I mean,
if you can do it there, if you can grind
it out in New York for over a year like
you have been, and then take it out on the road,
that's a whole new set of skills that you've got
and learned and continue to learn. It's going to be fantastic, man.
And I'm really really super happy for you the people.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
A lot of times I go up every night and
when you're in New York, the people don't even know
who I am. They're just like they're just like they're
from other countries or people might have heard of me.
You know. I'm on lineups with people way bigger than
me here, like Tim Dillon and like I said, Mark
Norman and stuff like that. So I have to really
(12:41):
grind it out. Like I'm not getting any advantages because
I was on a TV show if anything, that might
hurt me sometimes like this guy's trying comedy, you know.
So it's it's good though. It makes me better. And
like I said, I hope we have a bunch of
these weekends starting to fill up, and like you know,
one day I want to do a tour, so we'll see.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
This is gonna be fantastic. Well man, thank you so
much for taking time out to talk to us. It's
gonna be Friday and Saturday at the Off the Hook
Comedy Club in Naples right over there vendor built Beach Road.
Get the tickets at Off Thehookcomedy dot com. It's only
gonna be four shows. All of them are going to
be sold out for the great Vinnie G. Live in Naples.
This is gonna be great kicking off his tour and
it's gonna be a lot of fun all over the
(13:25):
country for you, man, and I'm happy for you. Where
can people find you on social media? You got millions
of followers. Where can people find you in case they
live in a cave or something.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
You just go to my Instagram at Vinnie Guaddanino. I
should be the first Vinie Guaddanino that pops up. Yes, an,
there's like links in my bio to my podcast something
went wrong with Vinnie and also all the dates of
comedy coming up.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Very cool, Vinnie G. Thank you so much for talking
to us today.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Man.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
We hope to talk to you again soon next time
you're in town.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Yes, thanks, guys, appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Thank you, buddy. By there, he goes Vinnie
