Speaker 1 (00:02):
All right, Well we are here with the senior Brock
Montgomery after the victory for the emperz En Dusky Rams
sixty three to forty one over Clear Fork, And it
seemed to you and your teammates, Wow, you just were
on a mission. You stepped on them. We're sort of
the keys to getting such a dominant win today.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Yeah, it's come out quick, come out hot, and that's
really what you really what we did. I mean, I
didn't play so good in the first half myself, but
Justin and Josh and Luke and Cayman was in Fouchuble
a little bit, but they did a really good job
of picking up even when I wasn't playing good.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Right, you were, You were one of three players of
lead Away with fifteen points. You mentioned Luke Schomberger he
had fifteen on the five threes. Josh Holman he also
had fifteen points in this game. So you know the
reality you just played your final home game of your
career at Upper Sandusky. In what a career it has been.
I know it's just coming off of a ball game,

(00:57):
but how can you in word just describe what's been
like playing in this building in front of these fans.
So for four seasons.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
It's really surreal, you know, growing up in a pretty
small town. It's Friday nights, Saturday nights, you come and
watch basketball. And I have an older brother five years
older than me, and he graduated in twenty twenty and
twenty twenty they went to regionals, So you know, just
being able to be around that and witness that, it
made me really excited to just come in and step

(01:26):
into the program. And I've played varsity since I was
a freshman, so it's really cool to be the senior
leader and really help the younger guys try to get
used to the speed of the game. And along with that,
I mean, like you can see kids down here right now,
it's really cool to be able to go out there
and try and put on the best show possible just

(01:47):
to try to motivate those kids don't want to do
the same thing one day.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Wow, that's well said here with Brock Montgomery. Obviously you
mentioned your brother Brett Montgomery, who played here and a
similar track because he was a golfer and he's still
doing that and you obviously into Golfer of the Year.
What has that sort of relationship been like as he
has sort of helped you navigate through what's been a

(02:12):
tribunous high school career up to this point.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yeah, my brother, I mean he's my best friend. I
no matter what, whether it be school problems, life problems, basketball, golf,
I can always go and contact him. And even though
he's in Georgia right now, I mean we're still communicating
almost every day, and it's it's really cool. Right when
I leave Hare, I'll be giving him a call and again,
he's my best friend. He's gonna be hyping me up.

(02:35):
So that's really cool to That's really cool just to
have that bond.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Yes, and I certainly remember when Brett played, and yes,
he had that type of energy and spirit in a
big shot. We remember to defeed Norwalk to go to
a regional So that was really cool.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Yeah, that shot. We talked about that almost, I mean
not quite every day, but he he congratulated me on
my all disk checks and I said, Brett, you hit
way bigger shots than me. He just kind of chuckled.
You know, being best friend, we still have that brotherly competition.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Absolutely, Yes, well I remember it, and yeah, you have
done a lot of big things here as well. Again
with Brook Montgomery after the sixty three forty one win
for reper Sandusky over Clear Fork. So up next district
semi finals either the number three seed Shelby or the
sixth seed Outawa Glendorf. We know that you were able

(03:30):
to be Shelby here at home, it did fall to
Ottawa Glendorf at their place. To what extent does it
help to have familiarity with both the Whippets and the Titans,
regardless of what the matchup might be in the next round.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Yeah, I mean, assuming we come in here tomorrow, we're
not going to know what's going to happen. So I
think it's just being able to prepare for Shelby and Ontario.
We got to our excuse me, h Ottawa Glendorf. We
just you got to be physical, and sometimes we lack
that at times, just knocking down cutters and get into
our spots even when they're kind of in the way.
But you know, like you said, playing both of them,

(04:04):
it's it's really cool. We kind of know their offense.
We know we know the way they get open, we
know who their players are, and likewise they're gonna know
our stuff. So it's really we're gonna put in I'm
sure we'll add a few more stuff just to try
to confuse them a little bit. But again, we got
five guys and even some of the guys on the
bench that are really really good basketball players, and no

(04:26):
matter how they're playing us, I trust my guys to
step up and hit some big shots.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Absolutely right, and they trust you to hit the shots
as well. So just one more for your bronc as
you celebrate the sectional title. We've enjoyed watching you play,
and I just wonder what if you enjoyed the most
about this experience with Upper Sandusky as you are on
your frontal ride in this tournament.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Yeah, I mean, it's it's so surreal. It's it's almost
sad in a way, playing my last playing my last
game here in the barn. It's it's a Thursday night.
The roads are bad, and there's still plenty of people
out here, and it's something I'm really gonna miss and
I cherish and I'm gonna try to come to as
many games as i can in the future years just
to cheer on my guys. You know, It's it's crazy.

(05:09):
I can't believe the four years are over. I I
just told the guys in the locker room every day.
Just don't take it for granted, you know, I thought
I was. It feels like I was just a freshman
the other day and now all of a sudden, I'm
playing my last game here. So again, just being able
to cherish the moments and have fun in there with
my guys every day, that's what it's all about.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Wow. Yes, it does go by fast and well. We
certainly are looking forward to this final run that you
have in the postseasons. So congratulations. Brought a great job
and it will see you for at least one more
tournament game. I hope it's a long run.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
I sure hope so too. Thank you for all your coverage.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
All right, thank you, bro appreciated.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Thank you.
