Speaker 1 (00:20):
Yes, that's adal Anthem here at Upper Sandusky High School,
hometown Rams of the intent starting their postseason versus the
visiting opponent that was in the building just nine days ago,
the Clyde Flyers of the ESPC.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Hello and Kurt Richards.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
So glad that you're with us for some Thursday night
postseason hoops on Matching ninety five nine, this broadcast of
arcity girls basketball that's presented by Matthews Honda Acurra. Just
so happened that when the RPI rankings resulted in brackets,
the Clyde Flyers and the emper Sandusky Rams pitted against
each other for this matchup, a rematch of a contest
here on Tuesday of last week, and that game was tight,
(00:58):
resulting in a one point victory for the Rams. The
biggest shot of the game came from Upper Sandusky sophomore
Ava Roman, who knocked down to go ahead three with
ten seconds remaining, and that shot held up as the
game winner. Frontal score forty six, forty five Rams. A
few points here though, on Romick's heroics. Before making that
(01:19):
dramatic three, Clyde got two free throw attempts from Katie Sheets,
who made the first but missed the second. That second
miss was a live ball and Upper Sandusky's Eric Ruhlin
tried to grasp the rebound, but it got away. The
ball was heading out of bounds at the baseline and
it was Romick who did a tiptoe job batted the
(01:40):
ball with her right hand to a teammate, that teammate
being Brent Kunda. Had Romick not done that, the ball
would have rightfully been awarded to Clyde with about eighteen
seconds left and Upper Sandusky still down two points. Instead,
a Romick did save it and then dashed to her
position in the right corner on the other side of
(02:00):
the floor, and it was Kundif who found her with
a pass.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Then, as Romick went up for.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
A shot, Clyde's Tatum Jeffrey jumped up with an excellent
contest almost appeared to block the shot just inches away,
but Romick, with great concentration, knocked it down ten seconds left,
and that's what did it. It's small details and intangibles
that can make the difference in the close game, and
(02:25):
a one point victory is as close as they can
come to Clyde's leading score. Tatum Jeffrey, Linda Flowers with
eighteen points, up percent Dusky's leading score Grace Walton with
the Rams with eighteen points. So based on what happened
last week, Tonight's game clearly could go either way. This
will be the final game for one Trio seniors, either
Abby Roguish, Katie Sheets and Kenny Long of Clyde or
(02:49):
Grace Walton, Eddie Newman and Ellie Ham of Upbert said Dusky.
Upper does have a four senior who will not be
playing tonight, veteran Brooklyn Scully.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
He's been with the.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Team all season but out with the knee injury. And
while I have a moment, just a shout out to
Jevin Diebol's interim head coach, who stepped up and led
the Rams to victory versus Clyde. Followed that up by
leading Upper Sandusky to a road victory at Buckeye Central.
(03:21):
So jeffn Diebol leading on the sidelines, he is two
and zer, but coach Jerry Vint he's back with the
team here in the building and ready to lead. So
they are all back together tonight. So here we go
with our starting A litter was brought to you by
the Pillar Credit Union First four that visiting Clyde Flyers.
(03:43):
They start as mentioned, five foot nine sophomore Tatum Jeffrey,
five foot seven sophomore Kelsey Ray, five foot six senior
Katie Sheets, five and eight sophomore Kinsley Goon, and five
foot ten senior Kennedy Law. As for Upper Sandusky, they
start five foot sixteen Addie Newman, five foot two senior
Grace Walton, five foot six junior Brin Kunde, five foot
(04:06):
nine senior Ellie Ham, and five foot ten sophomore Erica Ruling.
Nice crowd on hand for a Thursday night contest.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
We'll just note our.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Regina at Realty keys to the game collide, attack the paint.
Not a team that's particularly consistent with three point shooting,
but they can score in close, have Rupper Sandusky multiple
screen actions. They've gotta find ways to free up Grace Walton,
who will be immensely face guarded, and it is Kinsley
Goon who will have the main assignment in guarding Wilson
(04:41):
in this game. Our game officials tonight are Dave Iikinger, Brayden.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Seller, and James King.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
The opening tip brought to you by the Ohio State
University at Marion between Clyde's Kennedy.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Long in the royal blue uniforms.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Tonight is Clyde and Upper Sandusky's Ellie Ham the Rams
in their home whites, designed with orange and black.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Again.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
This is a rematch of a game that was played
in the regular season just nine days ago and decided
by one point for Upper Sandusky. Opening tip betted by
either one. They both have whiffed on it, so they're
gonna try it again. The official Dave Iidinger, He's been
at this a long time, so he's just gotta toss
it up again. And it is batted by Kennedy Long,
and it is won by Clyde, moving it right to left.
(05:40):
From our perspective, from opposite of the scorer's desk, I'll
see Ray with it at the top. Four of the
flyers download along to the right side the sheets holds
a ball a buff her head sends it down to
the corner to Long, guarded by cutting of the piloff's
side to Ray and the pass deflected knocked out of
bounds by Eddie Newman. She stays active. She's a heck
(06:02):
of a stealer, leads the n ten in steals that one.
Not a steal, but very close. Pie keeping possession of
the ball at the left corner.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Goon ball kicked out of bounds, this time by Edny Newman,
so she's just not allowing any easy passes. Still Clyde ball.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
As we are twenty six seconds into this sectional final
sideline embound Sheets a pie two. Ray dribbles it between
the rings, sentence the left side to Katie, Sheets back
up to Kelsey Ray for Colyde. No score in this
one to Goon back to Ray, feeds it inside to Jeffrey.
Ball batted out of bounds off of upper Seaddusky. So
(06:43):
still Clyde basketball. Forty seconds in so Sheets on the
imbound a pie to Ray. It's Ruling Onde back to
the left side to Sheets. She's a player who came
off with serious knee injury miss a lot of last season.
Down low Kennedy long for the lay of for Clyde
(07:05):
on the board two to nothing flyers so right back
four upper Sandusky Brin kind of working the point on
this trip. Looks for Walton and it is Goon who
is staying attached to Walton up Hie left side to
Ruling finds Newman down to the corner. To Ham one
(07:25):
on one against Kennedy long left side to Ruling one dribble,
needs some help and does pass out of.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
It to Walton.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Walton, with a few shakes, stops it left sideline to
Newman with Upper sand Dusky trailing it two to nothing
here early to clide. Ham with it up high, works
to dribble to the right point, hands off to Walton,
so she's got it one on one like it's good,
long cross court pass two. Ruling drives into the lane,
takes it up off their glass, doesn't go off as
(07:58):
a rebound for Ham and that would block down load
by Jeffrey And did we get a three? Oh, and
that's off the mark for Britain. Kind of It's a
lot of work, but no points right there for the
Rams so so far the only score Kennedy longed on
a layup four Colyde, so Jeffrey, their top score, passes
(08:23):
it left side. Here we gets sheets for three misfires there,
ball out of bounds off Clyde, so Upper Sandusky gets
it back down two to nothing, five forty nine to
go in this first quarter and seems like some early
tournament game. Jitters for both teams as they try to
(08:43):
execute both just a little bit tentative. It appears not
getting the aggression going. And here's Ham looks to drive.
There's some contact, no call takes above the glass off
the mark and the excited rebound lost by Ray. So
Upper keeps it. Here's a three cut off here Uh's
Upper Sandusky takes the lead three two.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Brin cunt of the junior.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
She has really been counted on a lot this season,
a lot more playing time than she got last year.
As I saw four so Ray with the dribble and
that one kicked by Ruling. So a couple of kicks
already for the Upper Sandusky Rams. As Zabbi Gotfried comes
on to the floor for U Per Sandusky to replace
Sirah Carulin and coach Vin loves the athleticism of Gottfried,
(09:32):
so sideline him bound sheets up Hie to Ray. Gottfried
is the one on her Defensively, there are working at
two to three zone the Rams here on this trip.
As Clyde has the ball trailing at three to two
in this first quarter, right side Goon between two throws
it up off the rim.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Now Kennedy long miss spires.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
There down low up to sheets for three and hits
it Cady five to three, so back four Upper Sandusky
again Walton just losing the ball out of bounds as
she was pointing had to defend her goon. She thought
that that ball perhaps should have been calling off of Clyde,
(10:13):
but no, it is a turnover for Upper Sandusky, first
turnover of this game. So Anne Marie Davis, the tallest
player for Clyde at five eleven, comes on for Kennedy
long and on offense Hi the right side here Sheets,
(10:34):
who scored the three on the previous trip Terrey between
two out to goon one dribble back to Sheets three,
this time off the backboard. Offensory about Jeffrey block pie
Ham down low, but it snatched out of there by Sheets.
Clyde keeps possession of the ball, leading it five to three.
Here early bounce past left side to Sheets working here
(10:57):
on Newman until the right point to goo to the
top ray pass deflected out of bounds by Newman, once
again playing the strong Tea four a per Sad Dusky,
so the hero from the first matchup. The sophomore ave
A Romic making her first appearance with four ro two
to go in the first quarter replacing Britain Cunda for
Upper sand Dusky and on d So it is Clyde
(11:20):
with the basketball ray to the right side, Goon off
a double team Ray gets it back at the top
the left side, Sheets goes cross cork goon quick release
three off the heel of the rim and the rebound
Newman pushing it left to right.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Four.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
Upper sand Dusky being chased by Davis and against the
double gets it up high to Ham upper ball train
to get five three three thirty nine to go in
the first quarter elimination pressure down to Ham.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Hits it for the right block totally.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Ham ties the game at five tour u per Sandusky.
It is Clyde basketball Tatum Jeffrey on a dribble and
we get to reach in five called on Abby gottfree
for a person Dusky, so that is the first foul.
So Erica Ruhlin returns to the floor for Upper Sandusky
(12:12):
replacing Ellie Hamm. So it is right back for Clyde.
Scored tied at five three seventeen to go. In the
first goon at the high left side into Jeffrey surrounded
dribbles through traffic passes to the right side. Here is
Sheets with the left hand off that glass head two
more for Katie Sheets gives Clyde a seven to five lead.
(12:35):
Upper Sandusky ball Wolton with it high right side, cannot
escape Coon, who's all over the left side to Gottfried
up Hi to Newman working one on one against Hooray
hands it off to Walton overhead, passed in the rule
and turned it round off the glass doesn't go. Jeffrey
secures the repounds. She averages eight point eight boards per
(12:57):
game for Clyde. Clyde with the ball leading it by
to Jeffrey at the left block, surrounded by three.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
And then punked away and stolen.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Here comes Gutfried the other way four upper Sandusky slips
gets it out to Walton to the right side, cut
off on the baseline by Goo, changes directions of grace
to the top ball deflected and stolen. Katie Sheets has
it for Clyde right to lift, leading seven to five
with two thirteen to go in the first Oh, here
comes a three four Jeffrey hand fill it up, hurt
(13:27):
our leading score Tatum. Jeffrey gives Clyde Hey ten to
five Lee two minutes to go in this first Quarner
Upper Sandusky. They knew the type of battle this would
be based on the first matchup. Straight away three Walton
front ar Noo repound for the Clyde Flyers right to
(13:48):
left with Katy sheets over to Tatum, Jeffrey Strong to
the basket of scores again Jeffrey. There might have even
been a little bit of contact there. And then on
the inpound we get a foul call on Kins leagon
for Clyde.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
It's twelve to five Clyde.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
As it looks like Kundiff is returning for Upper Sandusky,
replacing the Ira Carulin. All right, so Grace Walton against
some full court pressure, bringing it into the front cord
four the rams, Riah Ferrar freshman monitor this time Aromaic
(14:27):
the Kondiff high left side Newman Upper Sandusky trailing twelve
to five. Here early in this game, right points of Conduf,
who's already hit a three, working on Davis to the
top to Walton one on one against fr crossover dribble.
Riah stays with her the gutfree the left side roamic
dribble drive here against Rhees. Daniel winds up with Walton,
(14:51):
falls down and Missus on the shot out with it
as Jeffrey Clyde Paul to far Roguish has it back
to Far back up high and Greece Daniel another players
dealt with a lot of knee problems.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
She's on the floor.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Davis shot left block, doesn't go and then knocked out
of bounds and maybe a foul from behind cold on
Tatum Jeffrey. It is so Jeffrey picks up the personal
and the leading scorer goes out of the game, replaced
by another.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Starter in Kelsey Ray. I've gould say this game.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
With the ball forty six seconds left in the first trailer,
get twelve to five to Clyde, cross court Pas Robert
threw her hands and out of bounds on the sideline.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Oh yeah, that ball just got away from her.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
So it is back to Clyde right to left, trying
to add to a twelve five lead into the front
court hooray right side her Rogus one of the three seniors,
and to the top to the freshman far into Ray
right side Davis three and hits it and Lorins. Davis
hits the three for Clyde. It's fifteen to five. Flyers
(16:08):
right back for upper Sandusky Hunt to the top. Walton
slips through Clark, but the fowl Davis getting in there
with the left hands and making some contacts. So Henry
Davis thinking of her first personal to five eleven sophomore.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
So Grace Walton at the free throw line knocks down
the first free throw race Walton.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
Seventy six free throw percentage second one good for Walton
as well. It makes a score fifteen to two.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Seven.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
She'll Clyde with the lead the ball twelve seconds left
here in the first quarter. Daniel, oh, hi, yep, and
that's a carry. So give the ball right back to
what for Sandusky nine seconds to work with and trailing
by eight. So cutdiff on the sideline, imbound into the
(17:20):
back court to Walton, and she's good at these situations.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
Late in the clock, drives.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
In all the way Walton off the glass, though had
to rebound for Daniel Clyde ball one second left the
heat foray Way short. That'll do it for one quarter
of basketball in the sectional finals. Our littles entire scoreboard.
It is Clyde fifteen upper said Dusky seven. We'll be
back for the start of the second quarter. Glad with
(17:46):
us for Matthews sun act for Girls high school basketball
Game of the Week. I'm into ninety five to nine
in th heart radio time for the second quarter of
this opening round tournament game, and the ball batted out
of bound for Collides Opper Sandusky with the ball trailing
it fifteen to seven to the visiting Clyde Flyers again
(18:07):
this game, second meeting in nine days. In the first
matchup Upper one and by a single point. Here is
a right side jumpers good for Grace Walton, so that
shot pulls Upper Sandusky two within six.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Is fifteen to nine.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
Right back to Collide high left side, the far r
up to Jeffrey to the right point Goon one on
one against Ham to the top to Ray. It is
Wanton guarding her. Ray drives right lane line out to
Goon for three. Kinsley Goon showing the range for Collide.
(18:47):
It is eighteen to nine all right back for Upper
Sandusky trailing it in this contest. Addie Newman high left
side over to Romic on a baseline move against Daniel
up to Onton for three.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
She's a gamer.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
The race, Walton, you know she isn't going anywhere hitting
this one. She pulls her team to within a couple
of possessions. It is eighteen two twelve right back for
Colyde to the right side r with a dripple for
the flyers right side to Ray, jump past level and
(19:25):
that one she ran out of.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Room trying to get it to Goon. So by my
unofficial counts only second turnover for Colyde, so not bad.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Three turnovers four up heer Sandusky so far so over
San Dusky with the ball training to get eighteen to
twelve to Colyde. And then a half into this second quarter,
cind of high right side new men on the drive,
(19:55):
cut off fair by Jeffrey Path poked away edge tolling
my sheets. It's Clyde basketball right to left, up to
Ray at the left point, dribble to the top of
the key to the right side far off a ball
fake working on Romick to the top right side. Goon
crosses over right hand right back the far stopped at
the baseline by Romick, comes the other direction and gives
(20:18):
it up to Ray.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
That's Clyde trying to add to an eighteen twelve lead.
A couple of minutes into this second quarter, Goon with
it at the top, dribbled between the rings penetrates into
the lane, takes it up on the right hand. Wow, Goo,
what the heck of a shun for Clyde right there?
You gotta give her credit.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
Twenty to twelve Clyde Kinsley gooon, she has brought her
a game tonight for the Flyers. Apper Sandusky gotta respond
down by age Walton's off in one to do it.
Passes to the left side to kund Off, right back
up to Ruling. Oh what this she's yourself with the feet.
She sure did a bit indecisive on which she wanted
(20:58):
to do, so I think got Free comes back onto
the floor for a per said that's here, replacing Addie
Newman and Elie Ham coming on for a perroomic four
up er San Dusky and Auntie is Clyde with the
basketball leading it twenty two twelve with five twenty four
(21:19):
to go until halftime. Kelsey Ray to the left point,
Oria Arm and the left side to Kensey Goo, who
scored on a previous trip right side to Katie's sheets.
She had the hot hand early.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Hasn't been shooting it as of late.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
Inside to Ray and all over is got Free defensively
for upper and now to the leading score take them
Jeffrey some to just passed two sheets, so very patient
trip here for the Clyde Flyers. She is able to
change directions to Walton pressuring up defensively and to the
left side. R to the right side to Goo. Holds
the ball above her head, puts down a dribble to
(21:55):
the top of the key, stops under hand. Sti far
Ar hits the left side, making the Rams work on defense.
Is Clyde leading at twenty to twelve with four thirty
eight to go until halftime. Passed down low Jeffrey, I'm
strong right hand missus mcgets the call. Tatum Jeffrey ready
to go to the line to shoot two. Bryn Kundaff
(22:17):
picking up the personal for upper sand Dusky and Tatum.
Jeffrey is a very impressive sophomore, averaging fifteen and a
half points per game. First free throw for Jeffrey, all
that dancers off the lid and no good. She's a
sixty two percent free throw shooter. Davis sam Marie Davis
(22:42):
coming on for Clyde to replace Ariah R. Second free
throw here for Jeffrey, and that one's also no good.
But Clyde going for the office the rebound with Davis whistle,
what's the call? And then the scoreboard just went out.
(23:05):
So the official blue to whistle scoreboard's gone. Nothing lit
up on it, don't. So one of those situations, I
guess talk amongst yourselves.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
They've got to.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
They gotta get that fix. They gotta get the scoreboards
up there. What tournament basketball? Oh what, Conna santanagains. Oh,
you never know, You just never know. But yeah, just
really something you think about these two programs going up
(23:43):
against each other. I mean, it really had been but
seventeen years since Upper said doesk in clide and faced
each other, and girls basketball they played each other back
in February sixteen, two thousand and eight. Contested that New
(24:04):
Rego High School. Upper Sandusky did win that night, sixty
four sixty one to advance in the tournament. And among
the players for Upper Sandusky that night, Claire Aubrey, who
honored by Upper Sandusky earlier this season. There's one who
(24:26):
perhaps see on national television a number of times, serving
as a game official for various leagues, including the NBA.
We've got the scoreboard back, so this is good use
and we know for five twenty eight to go until halftime.
Collide has the ball and leading it twenty to twelve
O one. Then Davis just throws it away baseline. She
(24:49):
seemed to think that Jeffrey was gonna cut.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
And Tatum. Jeffrey just was not even looking for the
ball in that situation.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
So third turnover for Collide, up person and Dusky with
the ball bring kind of bringing it up left to
right out there with aph Romick, Grace Walton, Haddy Newman
and Elie Ham Wolton on the.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Drive left side left guard. He's foul? Oh how did
up person? Dusky neve fat?
Speaker 1 (25:18):
Three point play chants up coming for Grace Walton and
the personal is on the five and seven Sophomore Kelsey
Ray for Colyde. That's the first personal Anray.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
Sore we go.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
Walton connects from the line for her tenth point, pulls
up to within five and twenty to fifteen. So we
get toward the four men and mark of the second quarter.
The right side sheets on a dribble drive bounce past Davis,
pull up short heading the rebound for e Lieham upper
sand Dusky ball left to right, trying to get to
within a possession pass left side deflected winds up with
(25:57):
Newman u pie to Walton series the crossovers gets good
all and that one deflected. It's tolen by Tatum Jeffrey.
It's right back for the Clyde Flyers. Jeffrey looking to
keep it herself and then passes out of its seat
straight away three front Arno and the rebound off the
bounds taken by Walton. Add to a long time mate
Newman to the right corner to Romick and a pie
(26:20):
to gotfried right back.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
To Wilton, Upper Sandusky trailing.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
It's twenty to fifteen with three twenties ago until halftime.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
Right side here he gets a three.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
New Men yo Haerry Newman able to hit the three
to pull up her two within two.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Twenty to eighteen is.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
The score as we'll get the full time out Cliine
with the lead three fifteen to go until halftime. Glad
to with us for Matthew Stagg Girls High School Basketball
Game of the Week. It's tournament action, not Magic ninety
five to nine. It's iHeartRadio the Matthews.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
Honda Akurra High School Game of the Week.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
High School basketball MATGIC ninety five to nine, heading toward
a three minute mark as Katie Sheets takes it in
for collide, leading it twenty to eighteen and gets the
call in her favor. Happy Gottfried picking up the personal
and she just puts her hand up in the air
like what me. The officials say yes, so does send
(27:22):
Katie Sheets to the free throw line and the lefty
is able to knock in the first one. The pure
shooter that she is. I think about thirteen months ago
Katie sustained an ACL injury ended her junior season and
she was averaging fourteen and a half points per game.
Had surgery, came back, missed the first eight games this season.
Now she's rolling. So Sheets gets it done at the
(27:46):
line with a couple of free throws, makes it twenty
two to eighteen. Collide Umber Sandusky with the ball Ham
instead of shooting a three drives, all drags a pivot
foot Yep, she fell down, just one of those things.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
Yeah, no foul there on Reees Daniel four.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
All right, So it is Clyde with the basketball of
twenty two to eighteen with two forty four and that
until the break high left side.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Sheets.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
We said a couple of free throws on the previous
trip to Goon taking it at aromacup pie to Daniel
went into the lane with the right hand, Reese Daniel
scoring and it count seats poul Erica ruling for upper
picking up a blucking foul.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
Wow, first personal on ruling.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
So we talked about Katie Sheets and her injury situations
where Reee Daniel, Yeah, she missed seventeen games this season
with a knee injury. Was a starter, but she's obviously
Feelingnna lie better. But missus on the free throw does Restandiel?
Speaker 2 (29:06):
All right?
Speaker 1 (29:07):
So score is twenty four to eighteen. Clyde oh, and
then a traveling vibulation called on Walton and she initially
looked like she's going to protest the call and didn't say, Okay,
I'm just gonna keep playing. But eight turnovers Ropper Sandusky.
It's Clyde with the ball to sixteen to go until halftime.
Far R back onto the floor or Clyde to the
(29:29):
left side. Ball was deflected, let's see, And Walton was
trying to appeal her case, say that Goon touched it,
but the official said, nope, it stays with Clyde too.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Tend to go and tell halftime.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
Clyde basketball left side with Sheets on the impound down
the all deflected out by Walton. That one clearly was
off of Walton, so Clyde keeping possession of the ball,
but we see that the rams just not allowing for
anything easy. So Kelsey Ray returns to the lineup for
(30:02):
Clyde so far with it up high to the left side.
Two Sheets sends it back up all through the hands
of Ray. Recovers it though for texa dribble against Breton
Kunda who sticks right with her. Use a little hand checking.
Oh and yes, a five second violation on the closely
guarded rule. They'll give the ball right back to Upper Sansky.
(30:23):
Fourth turnover for Clyde, so the rest for Tatum Jeffrey
has ended, so she returns to the floor and getting
the break is Kinsley gooon for Clyde. Clyde on d
Upper with the ball trainly get twenty four to eighteen
with one to go, Hotel half tie. Newman up high
(30:43):
right side Walton to the corner, Aromic back to Walton
left side, Kundiff back to Walton against a double.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
We're working head zone for Clyde. Newman has it at
the left side to the top of the kind of
sits the right back Newman three. She's coming.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
Pardie Newman knocking down her second Tray has up hers back.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
To within three twenty four twenty one.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
Ray wants to make him pay the other way, passes
out left side, Sheets pull up off the run, doesn't
go knocked out of bounds by ruling does stay with Clyde.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
J fifteen.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
Tolie Ham back out to the floor for Upper Sandusky,
replacing Ayvana Romaic. It's Clyde basketball leading at twenty four
twenty one. Oh, I gotta get that inbound in and
she does out the far r three side our no,
and the rebound winds up with Walton into the front
court right side to Newman and Kennedy Long. She is
(31:52):
just returned to the lineup for Clyde. She had a
really long, restless starter and we get a steal here
for Kelsey Ray for Claude. So back to the Flyers
leading at twenty four to twenty one, high left side Jeffrey,
who's been largely bottled up, but they get it down
to Kennedy Long, so she's back onto the floor and
she's got another who four points for Kennedy Long as
(32:17):
Clyde leads to twenty six to twenty one.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
Long pass Walton Newman. Why not another three this time
off the rim week siw rebound kind of Walton puts
it up.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
Her triple front hour no offensive rebound Newman underneath it.
The reaching fowl called on Kelsey Ray, So that's the
second person on Ray for Clyde, kens Lee Goon right
back in for Clyde. The placing a ryah r r
(32:52):
so Walton to the left side, Newman trailing at twenty
six twenty one is upper Sandusky the visiting Clyde sixty
seconds left util halftime, right side for Ham down to
twelve seconds up to kundiff one on one that gets
Raid to the left side to Newman down to seven seconds,
gets a number two Walton then to reach it foul
Kiddley Goon second person along Goon four Claus and you
(33:19):
gotta give Goon so much credit. She is putting in
a lot of word trying to stick with Wolton in
this game. Leaves five point nine seconds up until half time.
Remember what the ball try to get twenty six fentyway
cut them on the inbound to Ham to the right
side to Newman, hands it off Walton three is up
in the air, one second left off the backboard and
(33:40):
rim now and that will do it for the first
half of play. It's another close, competitive game between these two.
By this time, elimination is on the line, all right,
So we'll step away, take a break, We'll come back
(34:00):
for Redshirts Agency halftime show.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
At the half.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
On our Wilson Tires scoreboard, it is Colyde twenty six
Upper Sandusky twenty one.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
So I'm glad you're with us for Matthew Soundaker Girls
High School.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
Basketball Game of the Week, Tournament Time Magic ninety five
nine and iHeartRadio High School Basketball Magic ninety five nine.
Here at Upper Sandusky as we're wrapping up our Redshirts
Agency halftime show. At the half, it is visiting Colyde
leading Upper Sandusky.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
Twenty six two twenty one. You had just a quick
recap of the scores for Clyde Katie Sheets with seven,
Kinsley Goon with five, Kensey Long with four, Tatum Jeffrey.
She also has five points, three points for e Marie Davison,
(34:55):
two points for Reese Daniel, and for Upper Sandusky it's
Grace Won't Lean the way with ten points, six points
for Eddie Newman, three points for Britain, Coundiff in two
points for Ellie Ham.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
So we'll see if at some point Ava Romick gets going.
She was the hero for Upper Sandusky in the first game,
hitting the game winning tray. She does come off the
bench the sophomore all right, so we're ready to get
(35:28):
this going once again. So a second, oh my gosh,
how he hit bound Kelsey Ray got the ball and
then just dribbled it right off of.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
Her right foot.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
So immediately just three seconds in turning over the ball
to Upper sand Dusky's Rams will take that down twenty
six to twenty one. So Grace Wolton into the front
cord working on Kinsley. Goon has pretty much been in
the case they're out the two matchups.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
To Kundiff back up Walton Poice.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
For three and bounces in for Grace Holton's Walton with
thirteen has Upper Sandusky pulls too within two.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
It's twenty six twenty four.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
Clyde with the basket ball to left side Goon on
the penetration throws up with the right hand that one
is too short offensive rebound for long for Clyde gets
a back up two sheets on the drive against kind
of working the ball around the perimeter. Goon has it
here against Ruling, takes it to the top Jeffrey in
a hurry left side pull up shot off the heel head,
a rebound for him. A Percidusky ball rams with a
(36:31):
chance to tie, maybe even take the lead on his
trip down by two, kind of has it at the
high left side, takes it to the top of the
key and drifts over to the right point and back
up to the top left side to Rulin. The ball
une extended to Newman taking it at Jeffrey, and she's
very quick on her feet defensively. Back to Walton working
on Goon once again to Newman to Rulin down twenty
(36:53):
six twenty four too early in this third quarter of
play of this tournament game on the drive left side,
no man to go with the ball out of bounds
off of upper Sandusky. Appeared that it was Ham who
batted it out at the baseline, So it is Clyde
that gets the ball right back lead to get twenty
six twenty four, six thirty five to go in. I
(37:14):
reached it foul Grace Walton working on Kelsey Ray. So
that is the first personal hunting Walton the five to
two senior and bounds for Clyde right side goon a
piet of sheets we used, threw some traffic at the
left side, taking her off of the foot of Ellie Ham.
(37:38):
That's a tough call because Ham did not extend her
foot at all. It just went off of her foot
as a result of an errant dribble.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
But that's the call. So Clyde's got it. Mittle and.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
Blaze Banbie does want the timeout for Colyde. It's a
full timeout. Will take the break for six twenty six
to go in the third time out brought to you
by the Quest Frontal Credit Union.
Speaker 2 (38:05):
It is twenty six, twenty four.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
Clyde leading it up per San Dusky for matthew Sonacker
Girls High School Basketball game of the Week. Come back
to ninety five to nine and by her radio while
you were gone, just ri out the time bout. Sheet's
missing a shot for Clyde. Ball backed Upper said Dusky
trailing in twenty six twenty Ford and ball knocked out
of bounds right at the Upper Sandusky bench by Clyde.
So Upper keys possession Brent Kundaff to winbound the ball
(38:28):
on the sideline up to lle Ham to the top
to Eddie Newman working on Kelsey Ray to the right side.
Ham drives base line Lapple slips off the lid but
gets the call does Ellie to him, goes to the
free throw line and Kennedy Long picks up the personal
for Clyde.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
That's the first one on law Tolly Ham at the
free throw line.
Speaker 1 (38:55):
First one old up AND's off the lid and does
not go for Ellie got free and she certainly understands
every point is so important at this stage, coming off
a ten point game at Buckeye Central. Second free throw
does go for a Ham, so one of two on
that trip for Ham to pull up or to within
(39:15):
one with Clyde ball leading at twenty six twenty five
to three sheets doesn't go left side and a rebound
for ruling back.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
From per Sandusky.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
It gets a double gets it out to Ham and
Ham is very capable of bringing the ball up herself
across the timeline and does a high dribble there, giving
it up to Walton whistle and appears it's a Clyde fowl. Oh,
it's on Kinsley goon for Clyde. Okay and that's the
(39:49):
third personal Ontoon, So that's something to watch for because
she is really the primary defender on Walton.
Speaker 2 (39:54):
And didn't we get a reach.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
Oh my gosh, am I seeing that right Jeffy thirteen,
So goon again.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
They called the falloner. So she comes out of the
game and Rayah Farrr is on four. The Flyers need
to get twenty six to twenty five and far has
it at the left corner taking ad Newman. Help defense
comes from got free the pie to ray On the
drive sits the right side and the three is up
bad three first Sheets eighty Sheets knocks down another triple.
(40:40):
That's her second three, gives Clyde a twenty nine to
twenty five, leads right back.
Speaker 2 (40:46):
Walton slips through, loses the ball to Jeffrey.
Speaker 1 (40:50):
It's back to Clyde the head to Sheets into the
front court, takes it the hand, misses on the shot,
ball deflected around, winds up with ray right side. Far
R three missus and in Ham got hit in the
head as she was going for the repal Sure did
an official cott and Marie Davis on that one for Clyde.
(41:10):
Second personal on Damas to bring kind of averroomic on
Froupper Sandusky replacing Heavy, got freed.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
And Erica ruling.
Speaker 1 (41:26):
Right back for upper San Dusky trailer get twenty nine
twenty five Newman left side Walton stopped by far Arm.
Newman drives right side too Strong saved by Ham. It
looked like no out of bounds to say on the baseline.
Good effort there by Elle Ham to try to save
the ball for a person and Dusky and out of bounds.
(41:51):
Babby got free comes back on for up person Dusky
replacing lle Ham before twenty eight to go. In the third,
Jeffrey for the right side to Ray working around a
perimeter back to Jeffrey at the left corner. He looks
(42:11):
and take it at Roman. Help defense come from Newman.
Shot up off the glass, doesn't go. Newman yanks out
the rebound a persona Dusky ball down twenty nine to
twenty five before ten to go in the third. Plenty
of time, lots of game left between the rings cut
off there by the defender farrr and a tie up.
You're at the possession arrow. It does stay with up
(42:34):
per seat Dusky the nice astle right there by the
freshman farrar row pre Sandusky ball walting with the baseline
inbound training at twenty nine twenty five into Newman and
then deflected out by Ray. Wha, no, they says, cosey
other way off Newman. They're both would have caught at
(42:56):
that ball.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
Fifteen.
Speaker 1 (43:00):
Well that puts it a ten turnovers for him for Sandusky.
Eliam back into the floor for the Rams, replacing Britain Kunda.
It's Clyde basketball leading it twenty nine to twenty five.
Speaker 2 (43:12):
Oh, are we gonna steal Walton and she's.
Speaker 1 (43:14):
Got an open runway and puts it in the laymb
No problem. Grace Walton up to fifteen points and pulls
the Rams within two. Clyde basketball trap right there at
the baseline, and coach Blaize wants the time out to
preserve the procession time I brought to you by the
(43:36):
QUST Photo Credit Union. It is a thirty second timeout
with three thirty five to go in this third quarter,
Clyde leading it by the two point twenty nine to
twenty seven. Then Blaize Benaya, He's in the second season
as head coach for this Clyde program, is his alma mater,
(43:59):
grad of two two thousand and seven, played basketball and
football for the Flyers. And you know something, his final
high school basketball game was at home and it was
versus Upper Sandusky.
Speaker 2 (44:12):
Believed it or not back on March of seventh, two
thousand and seven. Here he is at Upper trying to
get his Clyde Flyers through to the district ground. Here
we get a three.
Speaker 1 (44:27):
Jeffrey does it go right corner and the rebound for Walton.
The person doesn't get with the ball, lose it momentarily,
but he's able to regain it, takes it to the
front court. Far is ready on defense for the Flyers.
Right side the Romick who has been very quiet offensively.
I don't even think she's shot it.
Speaker 2 (44:44):
Yeah, hello.
Speaker 1 (44:45):
And then the miscommunication there Walton trying to find Ham
at the bounds at the baseline. They were not on
the same page right there, all right, So it is
Clyde basketballs we head toward the three minutes mark of
(45:07):
the third Tatum Jeffrey across the timeline for Collde.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
Five points for her. She is the leading scorer on
the season.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
A pie Daniel ball deflected out of bounds its supper
sidesky ball. A good decision there for Abby Gottfried to
not touch that ball as it was heady got a
bounds say for Roman who had a short break. She's
back on for Abby Gottfried Suppersidsky with the ball training
(45:38):
in twenty nine to twenty seven. Kelly ham dishes right
side ruling outside of Romiic back to Walton taking me
at far r in a whistle.
Speaker 2 (45:51):
And it appears to be Hey reach in foul on.
Oh they called on sheets. I thought they were going
to hold on far ur so a ladies fires in
fifteen Kinsley Goon.
Speaker 1 (46:07):
So Kensley Goon got a nice arrest as she's in
for a refr r Robber San Dusky ball down two
and on the inbound and all Coach Vent wants a
time out for represent Dusky. Thirty second quest Federal Credit
Union time out for Upper Sandusky to thirty six A
go in the third Umber Sandusky tray to get twenty
(46:28):
nine to twenty seven.
Speaker 2 (46:31):
In this previous matchup nine.
Speaker 1 (46:33):
Days ago was Jevin Dippel who was serving as interim
head coach and they got it done one point win.
One of the differences between coach Dippel and coach Vent
substitution patterns and I was talking to Jerry about that
earlier in the season, and he says he does not
(46:53):
come into a game with a predetermined idea on how
he's going to do it. He watches the flow of
the game and just makes hims on the fly. So
players they just have to be ready when he's running
things on the sidelines. So here we go to thirty
six remaining in the third upper Sandusky with the ball
long pass. Who's got to get to it? Ruling she
(47:14):
closes over there, she tracks it down. I'm not even
quite sure she was the intended target. So the Rams,
they've got to get that concentration up and we got
to reach in. Foul does appear, yep, it's on Kimsley Goon.
So an earlier foul that I thought was on Goon
(47:34):
was not, fortunately for her, because this is the fourth
vowel on Goon. Otherwise she'd be disqualified. But she is
on the verge of that and she's been working so
hard out here. As Roman free throw goes through, so
they give our Roman finally on the board gets it
done with a free throw.
Speaker 2 (47:56):
For the Ram the number twelve bread Day one shot
one more free throw to tie the game. Romix got it.
Speaker 1 (48:04):
He ties it at twenty nine even roamic to twenty
six ago in the third collide with the ball score
tied at twenty nine to twenty three to go. In
the third Jeffrey down low, Daniel up right hand and
could ree. Daniel breaks the deadlock quickly. It is Clyde
(48:27):
back out in front thirty one.
Speaker 2 (48:28):
To twenty nine two tend to go.
Speaker 1 (48:31):
In the third high right side, Gutfreed floats a pass
to bring Condiff to rule, a log cross court pass
Old Dray and then a reach and fowl Upper Sandusky
race Walton second personal on Walton.
Speaker 2 (48:52):
Relie Ham comes back onto the floor replacing your record rolling.
Speaker 1 (49:00):
Glyde basketball leading a thirty one twenty nine under two
to play in the third of this tournament game, Ray
to the left side, all passed through the hands of
Farr and out of bounds right to the seated assistant
coach Tyson Hermes for Clyde. So that's sixth turtler for
(49:21):
the Flyers back for Upper Sandusky, trailing at thirty one
to twenty nine seven to go.
Speaker 2 (49:27):
In the third.
Speaker 1 (49:29):
High right side, Condiff back up to Walton into the
free throw line Newman. Condiff has a right side one
dribble Chest passed out to Walton for three off the
side of the rim, tracking down the rebound Ham at
the sideline, keeping it from per Sandusky up to Kondiff
takes it that Ray to Ham, back to Walton, inside
to Newman, surrounded by some defenders for Clyde gets it
(49:51):
out to Condiff Walton. He's not afraid to shoot it,
but passes out of it. At that time, trailing by
two tens, Nown's passing Davis winning a Newman.
Speaker 2 (50:00):
Throma for three. That's the setup.
Speaker 1 (50:03):
Verry Foreromic knocks it down upper Sandusky takes the.
Speaker 2 (50:06):
One point lead. Thirty two, thirty one.
Speaker 1 (50:11):
Glide ball, She shooting a couple of threes, passes out
of it to Ray to left side. Jeffrey and their
leading Sward this season, takes it inside, creates the space,
puts it off the Clare SIPs corn and she's fouled.
That's what Tatum Jeffrey can do. She was stopped. There
was basically nothing there. She created a little bit of
(50:33):
space with her body, had the concentration scoring through contact.
So it's looking to give her teammate two point lead
up thirty three, thirty two it's up. It's through thirty
four thirty two. Great play for Tatum Jeffrey forty eight
seconds left in the third quarter, Upper Sandusky down by
(50:54):
two in this elimination contest. The pass Newman pie tond
of Walton. Newman cond of a pie bounds past the
left corner. Ham drives in against Daniel to Walton. Thirty
seconds left to Newman in the lane, takes a strong
Euro steps through, misses it all rebound Jeffrey back to
(51:16):
Clyde leading get thirty four thirty two, twenty one seconds
left in the third Hi.
Speaker 2 (51:21):
The Jeffrey.
Speaker 1 (51:25):
Friona dribble drive with thirty seconds left passes out of
a double team. Here's a three sheets off the front our,
no rebound for Ham. They got seven seconds of work
with head to Walton hesitation, Grace in the lane flings
it up against the call. Grace Walton with a chance
to tie it up at the line before the end
of the.
Speaker 2 (51:45):
Third thirty So Riah far R with the personal her
second for Clyde. First free throw that's good for Walton.
Grace Wolton, playing in her ninety eighth career game tonight,
(52:11):
second free throw that's good as well.
Speaker 1 (52:13):
Ties the game at thirty four. Nun's Grace Walton seventeen
points for the senior who has never missed a game
in four seasons. Two seconds left in bound Jeffrey, She's
gotten to throw it up too late off the backboard,
so that won't do it. For three quarters of playing
hal finning, it's tied. Clyde thirty four, Upper Sandowski thirty four.
(52:42):
We'll look to the fourth where it would be decided,
maybe in the fourth, So I'm glad you're within us
for Matthew Sutnager Girls high School Basketball.
Speaker 2 (52:50):
Game of the Week. I'm matic ninety five.
Speaker 1 (52:51):
To nine and iHeartRadio all right, high school basketball magic
ninety five to nine.
Speaker 2 (52:57):
Here we go fourth quarter time.
Speaker 1 (53:00):
Had this elimination opening round contest between Clyde and Upper
sand Dusky tie at thirty four. Clide with the basketball,
Kelsey Ray hands all to the right side to Ree,
Daniel gives it to o fr R to Ray and
we get a three here for Daniel misses it all
and we get a foul from behind. Tatum was going
(53:21):
for that rebound but hit from behind by Eddie Newman.
So that's the first person all on Newman tonight from
for San Dusky so Clyde with the basketball score tied
at thirty four. As Sheets on the end bound to Daniel.
It gets a double team pie to Ray left side
Sheets three rainbow no and rebound off the bound tam
(53:44):
Uppertendowski ball long ahead to Gottfried on the attack, puts
up off the glass, pops loose off the lid, and
the rebound for far R and Colyde.
Speaker 2 (53:53):
Score tied at thirty four.
Speaker 1 (53:54):
Still first minute of the fourth Jeffrey to the left
side and the three Daniel off the lid. Ball poked
out of bounds by far Or going for the rebound,
and she's gonna be called for the fallus well it
appears yes, third personnel on a Riah fr R all
(54:17):
rights Orber Sandusky go with the basket ball race Walton
into the front court to Addie Newman to the top
that come up to the left side, Aroamic to Walton
left corner three Newman hit the person per three third
three of the game for Eddie Newman thirty seven thirty
(54:39):
four Tatum Jeffrey the left side, Terray to the corner seats,
finds the cutter Daniel in the lay no, but gets
the call.
Speaker 2 (54:53):
He's Daniel.
Speaker 1 (54:55):
Heads to the free throw line of personnel on la
hand for a personad Dusky Reece Daniel five ten junior
at the line for Clyde routine down three first one's up, oh,
does not go. She had a three point play chance
(55:18):
earlier in mister free throw so oh for two so
far second free throw she hits that one pulls Clyde
two within two does ree sdanuel I say it doesn't
get with the ball at thirty seven thirty five.
Speaker 2 (55:33):
Lead walking with it up high on the drive to
the lane right side.
Speaker 1 (55:38):
New him and she's got confidence three not this time
and the rebound for Daniel. Oh, and then the past
almost got away from Jeffrey and she said, oh, I
think I dribbled it.
Speaker 2 (55:47):
You gotta come back, and she does.
Speaker 1 (55:50):
Now Jeffrey gets it back across the timeline trailing at
thirty seven thirty five, backing her way in on him
out the sheets to Jeffrey. On the drive Daniel had
out of bounds off of rees.
Speaker 2 (56:02):
Daniels side has lost the seventh turnover there Davis sh.
Speaker 1 (56:15):
So reevee Daniel back to the bench. Anne Marie Davis
is on for Clyde. Clyde on defense trailing at thirty
seven thirty five. Here at uper Sandusky right to left.
Here we go Brendon kund Of on the dribble to
the left point, takes it to the top of the key,
sends it to the right side to Walton, holds a
ball above her head, puts down the dribble and passes
(56:37):
up to Apra Romick reaching clawing at the ball. There
is Tatum Jeffrey, excellent defender. Goes up high to ruling
or the rams front to hold the ball a little bit.
Mose pet up ben deflected stolen by a Marie Davis
back for Clyde, down by two five thirty three to
go Jeffrey all the way to the bucket. This it
on the bunny and there's a follow Davis.
Speaker 2 (56:58):
It's gone. Marie Davis ties it at thirty seven for Clyde.
Speaker 1 (57:05):
Couple of hoops for Davids's upper Sandusky ball. Romick drives
with the score tied at thirty seven, out till Walton
at the corner and then the blocking fowl where she
tried to turn the corner.
Speaker 2 (57:23):
Looks like it's on Tatum Jeffrey. Fortunately for Clyde.
Speaker 1 (57:28):
That's only the second personal on Jeffrey's win bound Upper
Sandusky Walton has the ball score tied at thirty seven,
final seven remaining in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 2 (57:42):
I have this tournament game. On their drive. Newman misses
but gets the call Pattie Newman to go to the
line to shoot a pair foul.
Speaker 1 (57:54):
And Marie Davis five eleven sophomore for Clyde, picks up
her third personal Heredaddy Newman first free throws up wood
up one doesn't go for Newman first trip to the
line tonight. Certainly pressure free throws, but also you gotta
(58:15):
consider it a fatigue factor. Second free throw oooh, that
doesn't go either. She's a seventy five percent free throw
shooter and missus a pair does Thatdy Newman. Score remains
tied at thirty seven. Hunder five to play in the
fourth for our left side, Sheets against Gottfried left corner for.
Speaker 2 (58:33):
R three hats hurt poor Clyde.
Speaker 1 (58:36):
Wow, flyers up by three forty to thirty seven. The
freshman stepping up there, My goodness, let's see what Upper has.
Speaker 2 (58:48):
That's an answer. Pass winds up with the Newman. It
was afflected by Sheets for a moment for Clyde Race
Walton with it.
Speaker 1 (58:57):
With Upper Sandusky trailing at forty the thirty Evan Ham
left point then gets Ray right side to cond to
all the Rams are sort of taking their time, but
they got to keep their actions going back up to
I mean Godfrey, Tatum, Jeffrey on d left side pass
(59:19):
it gets away at a bound to the baseline trying
to find Ellie Ham and kund Off just could not
make that connection there. The turnovers really an issue here,
fourteen of them for Upper Sandusky. They average fourteen and
(59:40):
a half turnovers per game on the season. Three fifty
three to go in the fourth, collide with the ball
and leading it forty to thirty seven. That lead from
the fresh but far R hitting a three and we
get a foul up high on Ellie Ham. Fourth personal
on Ham said Dusky, there's a little reach right there,
(01:00:05):
so sideline then bound sheets said to Saigon three, Oh
my goodness, kindleing Goon with a three. Upper said Dusky
now trails it by six as we get the time
out called by the Rams Cross Funeral Credit Union time out.
Three forty one to go in the fourth. This is
(01:00:29):
quite remarkable when you consider that Clyde has had a
number of struggles shootings three on the season. They shooted
twenty two percent from three point land. Now you had
far R hitting the three to break the deadlock, and
then you get Kindlee Goon hitting her second three. So
(01:00:55):
Clyde averages just one and a half threes per game.
But in this game they've got seven threes. One from
Ann Marie Davis, one from Tatum Jeffrey, one from Riah Farr,
the one we just noted.
Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
Two from Katie Sheets, two from Kinsley Goon. Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:01:23):
So sometimes you particularly tournament games, you can defy the
numbers and players step up and bust open the scouting report.
So now Upper Sandusky has to come up with something
on offense. Trailing at forty three thirty seven for three
thirty eight to go in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
So it is Brenton Kunda with it up high.
Speaker 1 (01:01:46):
We're getting to the right side to Gottfried, Jeffrey on
te stops needs help pass up high to Walton deflect
it out yep does stay with Upper Jeffrey three twenty
six to go in the fourth quarter. No question, big
time pressure here, say if Romika is on for Upper Sandusky,
(01:02:09):
and she was the hero from the previous matchup nine
nights ago, Walton three. It's god He's upper is back
to within three twenty points for Grace Walton forty three
to forty. How many times have we seen her do
that in her career? As we head toward a three
minute mark of the fourth, neither team able to shake
(01:02:32):
off the other. Tatum Jeffrey dribbles right side, takes a
right at Ham. Foul called a block on Ham, and
she has just fouled out, hugely disappointing for the Rams fans.
Speaker 2 (01:02:50):
Coach Sherry Vinn. He has both of his hands behind
his head.
Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
Oh my goodness, So Ham knows where she must go
to the bench for the rest of this one. She
has just played for the final time here in this gym,
she hopes is not for the final time of her career.
(01:03:16):
Free throw Jeffrey Whick goes for Clyde Tatum Jeffrey is
two for two from the line. She hit one earlier
on the three point play second free throw to go
up five.
Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
Yep, she's got it.
Speaker 1 (01:03:33):
Tatum Jeffrey with ten points. Clyde Lee's it forty five
to forty ye present Usky Ball with two forty nine
to go into four. Who's gonna be the one to
shoot it? This time down to romaguffer knees and out
of pounds. That is not what the Rams needed there.
(01:03:54):
Turnover number fifteen, let's roll make heads out of the game.
Replaced by Abby Gottfried Coach Vinn definitely likes her d
and down it to Jeffrey. The pressure is gonna be
all over the flyers and they know it.
Speaker 2 (01:04:07):
Sheets across the timeline left side down the far r
back to sheets high left far has it back another
three and this time off the.
Speaker 1 (01:04:17):
Rim and the rebound for Gottfried in she gets to
call in her favor of reach in. Looks like that
one is on Emrie Davis, So that's the fourth personnel
on Davis for Colyde upper ball Treilla get forty five
to forty two, twenty to go on the fourth trying
(01:04:40):
to keep the season alive. Walking with it high right
side goon on deed. She's got the four personals. Gotta
be careful.
Speaker 2 (01:04:49):
Upside on the drive.
Speaker 1 (01:04:53):
Stopped at the right arc, finds newman in the lane
and she's called for a travel. Oh my word, things
starting to unraffle here. For the Rams, but they're still
within five. They gotta get the ball back collide leading
get forty five to forty one, fifty eight to go
(01:05:14):
in the fourth, Jeffrey jumps along the left side line
up high the sheets. We'll see if the Rams start
fouling any sheets.
Speaker 2 (01:05:21):
In the lane and scores off the glass. Katie sheats
she is up to nine.
Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
It is a seven point lead for Clyde forty something
to forty eight. Week in a whishole oh On, Coach
Vince called for the full timeout with one thirty eight
to go in the fourth, Upper San Dusky train to
get forty seven to forty to collide.
Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
We're given the situation. We'll just keep it right here.
Speaker 1 (01:05:55):
The previous matchup last week, Tuesday of last week, the
game came right down to the wire. Upper Sandusky was
down by two when Afra Romick hit a right corner
three over Jeffrey to give the Rams a one point
lead that held up forty six to forty five. Here
(01:06:20):
we have a score of forty seven to forty in
favor of Clyde. The Upper does have the ball one
thirty eight to go on the fourth sideline him bound
gottfree and just throws it right away to Jeffrey who's
in a hurry the other way. And if he loses
the ball and gets it back, whistle, it's a call
for a travel. I don't think it can be overstated.
(01:06:45):
The pressure of this game both teams, the execution a
bit of a struggle as we get a crossover for
kind of Upie ruling.
Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
Walton usually is the one who wants it. He's a
three and a step back. All my were yes, she
wants it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:01):
Hits that three does graze Walton within four of the
rams forty seven to forty three, twenty three points for
Grace coming the other way and sheets all the way.
Speaker 2 (01:07:11):
She's got two more.
Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
Fourteen points for Katie seats forty nine forty three Upper
with the ball and trailing and Walton has at the
high right side. Is she gonna pass or she gotta shoe?
She does pass on the left side. Roman on a
dribble drive kicks it out, taking it in.
Speaker 2 (01:07:31):
Rule line layups gone and the fowl. Oh wow, that's
exactly what the doctor order for Upper Erica ruling.
Speaker 1 (01:07:45):
And the personal is on Tatum Jeffrey third personal on Jeffrey,
so Eric caruling at the free throw line.
Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
I'm could pull her team to within a possession. Oh,
but it does not go a ball.
Speaker 1 (01:08:04):
Batter outs he gets it back into the lane. Newman
has it down by four in the rams for forty
three seconds left, kind of.
Speaker 2 (01:08:14):
Full concentration here right three Newman. Oh yeah, Hoded Newman.
Speaker 1 (01:08:19):
Knocks it down up person Dusty within one the fourth
three for Addy Newman. It's forty nine forty eight. Wow,
what a game. Just like the previous matchup on Tuesday
(01:08:40):
of last week, Upper Sandusky again won net by one
point forty six forty five. Right here in the final
minute of this one, it's a one point game. Collide
with the lead forty nine forty eight and some huge
shots that have been made both ways in this contest.
(01:09:05):
That's where you know who are the gamers who really
what to get it done? And if you're just joining us.
Five foot nine senior forward Ellie Ham for Upper Sandusky,
she has fouled out of the game, so she's counting
on her teammates to keep her high school basketball career alive.
(01:09:30):
Collide with the ball thirty five seconds left, leading at
forty nine to forty eight. Here add up her gotta
get the inbound whistle yep, And coach Blaze Denay was
not messing around there.
Speaker 2 (01:09:44):
He calls for the Crestfield Credit Union full time out
of thirty five seconds left here, that possession is just
too important. And just imagine if you give it up
right there right underneath the hoop for Upper Sandusky. So
smart move right by coach Beiney.
Speaker 1 (01:10:05):
And yeah, he's someone who brings a lot of enthusiasm
to this program. He coaches with high energy on the sidelines.
That's what you gotta do. We'll just know why we
have a moment. Well, more basketball tomorrow. We had to
Sycamore Mohawk Warriors the Holts the Seneghese Tigers for our
(01:10:28):
final regular season boys game. Every big tip for that
Friday night contest scheduled for seven thirty. As the players
return to the floor, Clyde with the ball leading at
forty nine to forty eight, thirty five seconds left in
this tournament game and bound to Jeffrey. And she's not
the one that Upper wants to foul. Jeffrey into the
(01:10:50):
front court off the double passes up high the seats man.
We gotta reach a foul bredon come to picking up
the personal for Upper and that is number five, so
they knew what they were doing. So what does send
Katie Sheets to the free throw line? Who is the
leading Clyde in this game? The fourteen points first free throw?
Speaker 2 (01:11:11):
He's going.
Speaker 1 (01:11:14):
Katie Sheets is a perfect three for three from the
free throw line hitting this contest.
Speaker 2 (01:11:19):
She's got fifteen one more free throw to go up three?
You bet you?
Speaker 1 (01:11:27):
Katie Sheets gets it ton sixteen points for Sheets, it's
fifty one forty eight Clide Upper with the ball tell
by three, twenty four seconds left, somebody's gotta shoot it.
Speaker 2 (01:11:38):
Wolton feed it inside, Ruling sends it the pie oh
rubick for three.
Speaker 1 (01:11:43):
This time it does not go scurry for the ball
and Farhar gets to it in the reach of foul
cut of with thirteen and a half seconds left. The
roof was about to go off of this one as
a Rumik went up for that three. She made the
game winning three on Tuesday of last week. That one
(01:12:03):
did not drop. But there is still time and the
freshman Ariyah Farr.
Speaker 2 (01:12:13):
I have the lie for Clyde. It's up. Who does
not go first free throw attempt tonight? No good for
far r.
Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
As coach Blaze wants a thirty second question for a
credit union timeout. In thirteen and a half seconds on
the fourth quarter clock, Clyde is a leading at fifty
one to forty eight, and this is one of those
timeouts of which coach is talking about what you do
(01:12:45):
when that shot goes through on a free throw if
indeed the free throw is made by Farr to be
a four point lead, two possession game. And then if
you're Clyde, you're just like, don't foul.
Speaker 2 (01:13:08):
It won't see if far could get it done here
at the line, balls in her hand, spins it, one dribble,
two dribble, Isaac lets it go. It's loose, it doesn't
go here.
Speaker 1 (01:13:19):
We get a rebound Newman twelve seconds left out by three,
gotta get a three.
Speaker 2 (01:13:23):
It's walking a deep lock of three off the lead.
Speaker 1 (01:13:27):
Rebound fall down whistle travel.
Speaker 2 (01:13:30):
Is called, and I think that's the right call, as.
Speaker 1 (01:13:33):
Romic mean ruling is trying to get to the rebound
and fell down leaves three point eight seconds. Upper's got
a foul. They don't get the steal in by whistle.
Speaker 3 (01:13:49):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
Let's see full time out call by Clyde.
Speaker 1 (01:13:57):
Leading it fifty one to forty eight with three point
eight seconds left. Oh my goodness, Well, this is where
you just put it all out there.
Speaker 2 (01:14:11):
On the line.
Speaker 1 (01:14:13):
If you're Clyde, you want to get that ball into
the hands of a good free throw shooter. Obviously, we've
seen what Katie Sheets has done, shooting a seven percent
from the line on the season, but in this game
she's hot four for four and leading the way for
her team with sixteen points. The leading scorer for everybody
(01:14:37):
in this contest is Grace Walton from per Sandusky with
twenty three ninety eight games played for Walton never's missed one.
She's hoping to get to a ninety ninth. We'll see
if they could come up with a steal. If not,
(01:14:57):
gotta be a quick foul. Three point eight seconds left.
Clyde with ball leading a fifty one to forty eight inbound,
they get to Jeffrey Yepp and they foul. Two point
six seconds left. Smart for Clyde. Get that ball into
the hand up Tatum Jeffrey. Jeffrey is three of four
(01:15:20):
from the free throw.
Speaker 2 (01:15:20):
Line for the game, and she's got it. That probably
does it.
Speaker 1 (01:15:34):
A two possession lead with only two point six seconds left.
Jeffrey second free throw, it's up, doesn't go two point
six seconds left, not enough time.
Speaker 2 (01:15:46):
They throw it and it is over.
Speaker 1 (01:15:50):
Clyde comes in and gets the revenge win fifty two
the forty eight at Upper sand Dusky. Tatum Jeffrey getting
it done at the free throw line for Clyde, finishing
the game with eleven points for her team. She's a
(01:16:12):
super sophomore and the Upper Sandusky Rams fought hard but
falls short by four in.
Speaker 2 (01:16:18):
This one.
Speaker 1 (01:16:21):
And the final game of the spectacular career of Grace
Walton to reach the one thousand points scoring club this season.
Same Freddie Newman and Elie Hamm their high school basketball
careers coming to an end tonight here at Upper Seed Dusky.
Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
All right, well, we'll.
Speaker 1 (01:16:44):
Take a break and we'll come back for some post
game again. It is a final. Clyde comes in and
defeats Upper sand Dusky fifty two to forty eight for
matthews Sonmacker Girls high school basketball game the week My
Magic ninety five to nine at Iehearts Radio
